Have you read the new clementine book? I'd like to hear your thoughts on it :D
i hate being reminded that it even exists 😭 out of grim curiosity i usually check to see whats going on at each release but its just..........................................its just so bad...............................................................................................
like its so out of character that i cant consider it canon even if i wanted to......... and its so BORING too!!! its so lame...........its So lame...
it doesnt make me sad anymore at least it just makes me laugh now (especially now after book 2) but like....darkly...just like... Oof...... oof......... but yeah the way clem is written specifically is actually laughable im sorry but that really is tangerine
i hate when characters get reverted just to retell the same story. like its doubly insulting. and its pretty much what tillie did with clem. and its BORING!!! and i just have to reiterate again that its also laughable. its just....painful honestly 💀 the plot is boring the characters are boring clem is a mess and her pre-existing (EXTREMELY IMPORTANT) relationships to characters from the game are basically non-existent. and we're not having any INTERESTING discussions!!! what are the themes what are the messages what is tillie trying to say here? im getting a big load of reused character arcs and what feels new falls flat on its face. clem isnt even a shadow of her former self shes a different character entirely. and she is crying waaaay too much. shes got the anger of S3 clem and not even a Fraction of the emotional regulation S1 clem had. and she was 8 then....
and her naming her prosthetic 'kenny' is fucking stupid
ive seen some people say that it would actually be an interesting comic if clem was removed from the story but i dont agree. its fucking lame and boring. i love the zombie setting for the stories it allows a writer to tell. for the emphasis on character it allows. and this is probably the most boring piece of zombie related media ive ever laid my eyes on. this definitely feels like it was written by a romance writer trying to figure out how the zombie setting Works as a storytelling device. with a beloved preexisting character that theyre Also trying to find the voice of. and we're watching it in real time. and its Painful.....
S4 will Always be the True end to clementines story. its too perfect. and it also marked the end of telltale. it was a love letter to the series. its very fitting for both clem as a character but also as a last goodbye from a beloved studio. the still not bitten teams signatures on the hallway walls always gets a sob outta me. that final goodbye... clem was meant to spend the rest of her days at ericsons with the community she helped cultivate. ive said it a million times but her losing her leg is Symbolic. the first episode isnt titled "done running" for no reason. clem never Liked being on the road. all she ever wanted was a safe place to call home. with people she trusted and loved. and now the comics are retconning all of that just to retell the same story but Badly. why should i give a shit about that?
whats unfortunate is that i DO think there are still things that could be explored with a post S4 clem. shes got what she wanted: a home. (relative) safety. community. however she has new limitations due to her injury. how would she adjust to this? after spending so many years on the road? after having to do so much independently? only having herself to rely on for the most part? these are the goals im trying to achieve with my own short little fic (that ive been working on for too long):
Tumblr media
she would never Want to leave ericsons. home is what shes been looking for since S1. but now that shes Safe. now that she can turn off survival mode a little bit and actually Relax for once. shes going to begin Processing EVERYTHING shes been through up until this point. the true healing starts Now. but she cant run from it. so how would she reconcile these things? the whole point of ericsons was that they were a community of traumatized kids who found love and support in each other when they had nothing else. aj says it himself (S4 is Very clear in its messaging). THAT is the perfect setting for clem to ALSO have this grieving/acceptance process that she Desperately needs. everything shes been through up until this point is going to hit her like a truck. the true healing starts NOW. shes no longer fighting for her life 25/8. and when the brain can get out of survival mode it begins True processing mode.
one of the issues with the comics is that it puts her BACK into survival mode. but of clems own choosing! no matter how much her processing hurts and no matter how much she could want to run from those feelings, she has always wanted True Community more than Anything. having to reconcile those feelings is interesting! i Do think tillie is trying to have some of these conversations. but they all fall flat. her understanding of clem as a character is weak. and the environment shes in is not conducive to the healing process she wants clem to have. its a mess. i will always stand firmly in the camp that these comics should have taken place in the gap between seasons 3 and 4. that change alone wouldve boosted the comic. but unfortunately they chose.....This
anyway. back to my own post S4 adventures :)

How Would: Season 3 Clementine React to Gabe Flirting with You - The Walking Dead | Headcanon
Tumblr media
A/N: Oh but of course. I'll write anything that gives me the excuse to slander Gabe. Hope you enjoy!
SUMMARY: How would Season 3 Clementine react to Gabe flirting with you?
WARNINGS: More Gabe slander, some fluff, swearing.
WORD COUNT: 526
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, she definitely doesn’t like it. At all. It’s one thing to not know that someone is taken by another, but even after Gabe knows of that fact, for some reason, he still tries to flirt his way into your heart. It certainly doesn’t work on you, because you only find it amusing, but your reactions to his advances still aren’t appreciated by your girlfriend. You always feel her glaring daggers at the back of your head, or directly at the beanie boy. And yes, granted, she knows that you would never leave her for him, but still, it’s the principle. It’s the fact that he doesn’t respect you or her enough to back off and find someone else to steal the heart of.
Because of Gabe’s obliviousness – or lack of care, Clementine often finds herself unconsciously being really affectionate towards you. It’s really the only way she can show the dumbass that you’re taken. It’s not like she’d be able to speak to him… she’d just end up verbally assaulting him, because what person wouldn’t? So, she settles for holding you in some way when he’s present, or if she’s just done with his shit, she’ll pull you away and keep you to herself like a little hermit crab that found their new shell.
You find it cute, endearing even.
Although, it does get to a point where Clementine starts to feel a little insecure about it all. Even though you’ve reassured her countless times that you don’t plan on ever leaving her, she still can’t help but feel like that actually might end up happening in the future. If not with Gabe, then it’ll be with someone else. You think the root of those thoughts came from the boys’ flirtations, and when you do end up asking her, she does admit that it’s really disheartening whenever you don’t try and refute his statements.
So, of course, you make sure to let him know one day, and he backs off the moment you glare his way and tell him that he needs to knock that shit off. He never originally stopped because you never directly denied the things he said, but the second you do, he actually takes it well and backs off. Granted, it should have been basic common sense for him to not even bother in the first place because… duh, but the fact that he does actually end up stopping is enough for you. However, that doesn’t get him out of the doghouse Clementine has him in. She still doesn’t like him, and you can understand that.
I mean, he is pretty annoying.
But, who knows, maybe the situation was a blessing in disguise, because ever since that happened, Clementine’s been nothing but protective and clingy to you. Shes more affectionate towards you in front of others, and you have an inkling that it’s because of Gabe and his stupid shenanigans. You can’t complain, but as a way to make her feel secure in her relationship with you, you make sure to let people know you’re happily taken the moment they feel the need to try and sweep you off your feet.

I played s3 of the twdg and I am way late to the party
But I don't feel bad for David or guilty for taking his wife! Sorry! I don't condone cheating at all under 99% of circumstances, but when a character thinks their spouse has been dead for half a decade, and they were already in a loveless, bordering on abusive marriage, I don't have any problem with them doing the romance shit with the more well adjusted, non abusive brother of said spouse
David was a dick to everyone. He took his insecurities and frustrations out on everyone and flipped at the smallest thing. It didn't help that no matter how understanding or kind you are to him, he always turns on you
Chosing him to save just perpetuates a toxic cycle at the end of the game
And I like Kate a whole lot more than I like him. At least she tried to be a good person and stick a lot of situations she didn't like, out
And I'm convinced that David wanted to sign himself up for the army again because he could see his patience and want for that family slipping day by day and, the patience for his life in general
He was gonna abandon his family and dress it up as a noble choice. And if there was no zombie apocalypse he would've done it after the father died of cancer, a short while later I think
Because if he didn't things between him and Kate would've turned all "domestic violence" and abusive
More than they already were
Because yelling at your partner after they accidentally drop a cup and get hurt by it. Acting like she dropped it on purpose when she was clearly bleeding and only calming down quick enough depending on Javi's intervention methods
I read that as a buffer and a taster of what would be to come later down the road in their relationship
He wouldn't have hit her in that stage of the marriage, but he can't control his rage for real and yeah.
Kate and Javi suit each other better. Javi isn't an abusive dickhead, he has endless patience for Gabes teenage angst and trauma most of the time and usually has to assume the position to placate David
Kate and Javi were chill with eachother and S3 wasn't perfect or even marvellous but it's not as flat as people call it. It just reads like people being angry they can't play as clementine
They're forgetting they played as Lee in the first season, and while Javi and Lee aren't comparable, I do appreciate what you get to do for clementine in this game but I'm getting off track.
Fuck David. He's a piece of shit and his daughter thought to hide under the table when her grandfather turned for a reason. He doesn't deserve Kate, or much even, and he didn't look for them after the outbreak so he has no claim to his "family" at all

Tangled Salt Marathon - Rapunzel Day One
Tumblr media
This is decent episode, and one of the few that isn’t filler in season two, but because there are problems with the over all character acs, there’s problems here with episode too.
Summary:  Rapunzel and Cassandra come across an abandoned magic stall while searching for parts of their destroyed caravan. The stall contains a wand of forgetting. Cassandra impulsively wishes that Rapunzel would "just forget about everything" when she was tired of her trying to patch things up between them, which results in Rapunzel regressing to when she was still in her tower with Gothel.
The Episode Order is Confusing
Tumblr media
So this and The Brothers Hook aired on the same day. Now in the production order listing, Rapunzel Day One is suppose to come before The Brothers Hook and that’s how it’s ordered on Disney Plus. Which is where I’m watching this marathon and getting all my screen caps.
However The Brothers Hook did air before this episode according to Wikipedia. Also Hook Foot is nowhere to be seen with nary a word. So placing The Brothers Hook before would indeed make more sense in that regard.
Yet Raps and Cass aren’t fighting in The Brothers Hook, so I don’t understand how this was supposed to originally work. What’s the correct viewing order here? Is Hook Foot just off screen with Fidella this episode, or is Cass and Raps ignoring their big fight in The Brother’s Hook?
For Someone With a Disability Now, It Doesn’t Seem To Affect Things
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok, to be fair, they do show Cassandra practicing here and later in Mirror, Mirror trying to relearn how to use her hand, and indeed physical therapy for injuries is a thing. Yet, two scenes isn’t enough to establish that. She regains usage of her hand really quickly and far too easily, given the type of injury it was.
Disabilities, even unseen ones, still impact your everyday life. Yes, they don't ruin your life; you can still do things. But they don't just go away and you have to deal with it.
Finding that balance between not making a character useless, while still recognizing that there are things that they struggle with when writing disabilities is a line that writers have trouble with. But if you’re not going to put in that effort needed to pull it off tastefully then don't introduce the concept.
One Step Forward; Two Steps Back
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rapunzel recognizing that there is a problem, and wanting to fix it before it gets worse, can be viewed as progress. After all, avoiding the issue is why things got so bad between her and Varian. But, she’s still failing to see why Cassandra is upset and so goes about things the wrong way.
And keep in mind, Rapunzel does have every right to be mad at Cassandra, just the same that Cass has a right to be mad at Rapunzel. Both girls screwed up.
Yet, it’s only Rapunzel’s side of things that Rapunzel cares about, and therefore nothing actually gets resolved.
This could have been a decent conflict for season three, but that’s not where the writers take things so we’re just spinning our wheels here.
It’s also kind of shitty that Cass is the only person that Rapunzel is willing to put effort into righting things with. She still doesn’t give a crap about Varian, nor any other villain in the show.
Well I Guess This Has to Come Before The Brothers Hook
Tumblr media
They have the caravan in Brothers Hook, don’t they? I mean how else did they meet up with Hook Hand? But if that is the case then where is Hook Foot now? I don’t know.
Cassandra’s Hurt Hand Only Matters When It Concerns Her Relationship With Rapunzel and Not How It Affects Her Character as a Whole
Tumblr media
An extension of what I was saying before, but it shows the fundamental problem with the writing for Cassandra. The writers only think of her as a conflict for Rapunzel and not as a person with like her own life and shit.
Long Time, No See Owl
Tumblr media
As soon as Hook Foot goes unceremoniously missing, then Owl shows up. I don’t think he’s been seen since season one, yet they act like he’s always been here with the group.
Why is continuity and consistency so hard for this show?
The Saporians Are Indeed Homeless, But Don't Expect That to Ever Be Brought Up
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So things to note.
This isn’t a village. It’s an encampment. What we see here are destroyed tents and caravans. The only permanent structure is a short stone wall.
Secondly, the magic book they find has the Saporian symbol on it, and indeed the Saporians use the wand of oblivium to take over Corona in S3.
What we can gather from this is that the Saporians were driven out of Corona after the first war. They’ve been living as nomads for centuries without their homeland.Yet their most recent settlement was destroyed by the black rocks sometime before season one started, along with most of their possessions and means of living.
All of this would explain their motivations, goals, and why they picked now to try and take over and not just any other time.
But don't expect any of that to be brought up or remembered by anyone come season three. We can’t have any po the bad guys, save for Cass, being sympathetic now can we.
Tumblr media
Also, just a side note. It’s funny how apothecary is treated as magic and alchemy as a science in this world, when in reality it should be the opposite way around.
This is Not an Apology
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you gotta throw a ‘but’ in there, then you haven’t really apologized.
Rapunzel’s not sorry for Cass getting hurt. She doesn’t recognize nor understands why Cassandra feels the way she does, and she’s even attempting to try to. All Rapunzel cares about is how Cass being upset makes herself feel. She’s putting in this effort to ‘talk about it’ because Cass being outwardly angry at her is inconvenient to herself and nothing more.
Rapunzel Still Hasn't Learned Boundaries
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Didn’t we already have this conversation back in season one?
And like, yes, it’s not good for Cassandra to ignore her feelings, but what Rapunzel does here by pushing isn’t a good thing either.
What's most frustrating though is that neither learn anything from this. Just like they didn’t learn anything in Under Raps or Goodbye and Goodwill.
It’s aggravating to see the writers give us an actual conflict that’s worth having the mains fight over, only to be undermined by previous episodes and then thrown away altogether.
So How Come the Wand Only Erases Part of Rapunzel’s Memory and Not All?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like, this is suppose to be set for season three with Frederic and Arianna losing their memories. Yet despite Clementine using a similar wand, it doesn’t have the same effect on them as it does on Rapunzel here. They lose all their memories and sense of identity, while Raps just forgets a few years.
Speaking Forgetting How Things Work
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where did this handy dandy book with the cure go when Frederic and Arinna lost their memories? Why didn’t Raps go looking for it then, or force the Saparoians to give her the cure while they were in her custody?
So This Plot Point Kind of Back Fires, and Winds Up Undermining Everyone’s Relationship with Rapunzel
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First off, just repeating New Dream scenes from the movie, but with Cass in Eugene’s place is ill advised given the direction that the show went in. Whether you ship Casspunzel or not, it’s important to recognize that ‘sisters’ is what they are intended to be in canon. That’s the direction that Chris went with them, whether we like it or not. So either no one on the show knows how to write platonic female relationships, or this is gay baiting. Take your pick.
It’s also lazy.
But most damaging is that this only shows that Cassandra only liked Rapunzel when she was naive and stupid, and not the Rapunzel we have now. Tie in how her friendship with Rapunzel is based off of validation to begin with and we got a very unhealthy relationship, and not one that should be rooted for, despite the show wanting you to do just that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They even go so far to repeat the lines from the flashback in the last episode, as if this was a positive thing in their dynamic, instead of recognizing it for the really mess up thing that it.
Then there’s the Eugene side of things that this calls into question.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know Eugene loves Rapunzel through thick and thin, but how much of their relationship is based off their first adventure together and not about how they work together in the here in now?
Did Rapunzel just simply latch on to Eugene because he’s the first person that she met who wasn’t her mother and wound up being nice to her? If anyone else found her, would she be in a relationship with them instead? Is it healthy for her to never look for anything else? How much does Rapunzel actually like Eugene, for himself?
Then throw in Eugene’s over idealization of Rapunzel in season three, they’re lack of communication issues, and Rapunzel’s crippling need to always be right, and I can’t say if New Dream should be what we’re rooting for either.
This isn’t a Casspunzel vs New Dream thing, nor is it a personal dislike of Rapunzel herself. Rather, it’s a very serious question about the nature of Rapunzel’s interpersonal relationships vs her character development, and how that has to change things on some level, and if it’s still worth having those relationships now that she herself has changed so drastically.
Is everyone being fulfilled? Is everyone getting what they need still? No? Then, why are any of these people still together?
That needs to be addressed by the narrative now, and it never is.
So Why Would You Say That Cass?
Tumblr media
Rapunzel doesn’t know where she is and therefore has no idea what direction the tower lies in. If you’re heading south back to the camp then just say the tower is south. In fact it actually is south because you’ve been traveling northeast to the Dark Kingdom for months now, according to the map in Rapunzel’s Return. So what was the point in lying about that?
In in effort make Rapunzel look smart, they had to make Cass look dumb and that’s not good writing. If you needed Rapunzel to suddenly not trust Cass then there were other better ways. The drawing she placed in her pocket should be enough on its own to tip her off, and all she has to do is reach into her pocket to put like a rock she found in there and then find it that way.
So When Did Rapunzel Have Time to Build This Elaborate Mousetrap?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This would have taken hours, it’s not even been minutes.
There’s making Raps competent and then there’s turning her into an overpowered invincible heroine.
Now Pascal Is Missing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh is he with fucking Hook Foot now?
He was right on your shoulder Eugene.
If you’re going to have characters conveniently missing then establish that first, preferably in a visual way and not with exposition.
So Rapunzel is Treat As In the Right Even When She’s Not
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So Cassandra opening up about her feelings is treated as the solution to the problem, but it’s really not, or it shouldn’t be anyways. She can recognize she lied about the wand without having to doing something she finds uncomfortable, and it’s not like Rapunzel right now has any frame of reference for what Cass is talking about.
All this amounts to is giving Rapunzel a free pass on her earlier bullshit.
Tumblr media
Also if Cass repeating a phrase Rapunzel said earlier was all that was needed to jog her memory enough to trust her, then why couldn’t Eugene done the same? He was right there.
This Doesn’t Resolve Anything
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok first off that’s not what friends do. Friends actually work through shit. Friends make sincere apologies. Friends forgive each when they do.
If you’re not doing that then you’re not friends and you should just leave.
No one, not Raps, not Cass, ever apologizes for what happened in the Great Tree. They never try to understand what either of them did wrong, nor do they put effort into fixing themselves or addressing their issues and flaws.
And you know what? That would be a valid reason for their falling out in season three. But it’s not used as such, so any resolution to their conflict there winds up feeling hollow.
Conclusion
This episode, like with the Great Tree, gave me hope that this was all leading somewhere. Now it’s just a bitter reminder of how screwed up the writers’ morals are in this show, and how poorly planned everything was.

Tagged by : @00gangfriend00 to list the top 10 books I read in 2020. Of course, I (like everyone else it seems haha) read more fanfic than books this year, so here’s just a few of the many I enjoyed in 2020 (in no particular order) -
in the dark by medievalraven
From the Summary -
“Well it’s come to my attention that my husband may have made certain arrangements with you and your friends,” Beth says, her thumb lifting to play with her wedding bands, a nervous habit she’d never been able to break, before remembering they were now tucked away in her jewelry box at home.
The man lets out a breathy chuckle.  “You ain’t gettin’ more time if that’s what this is about.”
“No, actually I have a business proposition for you,” Beth replies, squaring her shoulders at the man’s unamused expression.  “Let me work off his debt to you.”
or
In a desperate move to save Boland Motors Dean makes a deal with Rio, but when he can't pay back his debt Beth is forced to make an unexpected offer to save her family.
Teach Me Tonight by riosnecktattoo
From the Summary -
Beth & Rio go on a date. Rio is horrendous with chopsticks. Beth steps in. Romantic sushi shenanigans transpire.
Filing her nails while they’re dragging the lake by s_t_c_s
From the Summary -
AU: Beth has a gross, philandering husband, but no concrete proof of his infidelities. So she hires a private investigator.
vile and yet devout by nomind
From the Summary -
“Look, I don’t know which one of these two very fine specimens you’re trying to hit on, but either way, we gotta go,” the small woman – Annie? – says, eyes bouncing between him and JT. “Actually, you should impart some of that cougar wisdom onto my sister, because now that she’s finally free from that useless trashcan of a man we really need to get her laid. Like. Laid-laid. Multiple orgasm laid.”
hello and welcome to my grocery store manager!AU aka fine ‘n frugal bathroom break
The Clementine by femalegothic
From the Summary -
Beth takes the last clementine out of its orange mesh bag and gives it to him, dropping it into his outstretched palm. She almost laughs at how ridiculously small it looks in his enormous hand.
[Rio] leans forward again, resting his elbows on his knees and turns the clementine around as if searching for the perfect place to begin. His face is almost comically serious, his brow furrowed and his full lips pursed, as he studies it carefully. But when he glances up at her, as if to make sure she’s still looking, she can see the playful glint in his brown eyes.
He’s hamming it up for her.
So she plays along—happy to share a silly moment with him. Sitting up straight with her shoulders back, she stares down at him expectantly, as if peeling this little clementine is of the utmost importance. But as they look at each other, their faces both deadly serious, she can feel the laughter bubbling in her throat. She presses her lips firmly together, fighting off the smile tugging at their corners. --- Beth and Rio share a clementine. Post S3.
The Space in Between by Slow_Burn_87
From the Summary -
“So, what do you think, you got what it takes?”
The weight of the gun shakes in her hand and Beth tightens her hold on the heavy base until her knuckles shine white. Blinking rapidly to dispel the gloss of tears that continue to spill down her cheeks, she glances frantically at the mutilated flesh of Dean's face before her gaze darts wildly back to Rio; the man and the monster.
(Post-cannon Season 1 x 10)
here and now and next by mydearmoon
From the Summary -
Sometime after Season 3.
Beth learns how to be alone. Rio helps, in a way.
Viva Voce by zetuslapetus
From the Summary -
Beth goes to Vegas to celebrate her divorce and wakes up married with no memory of how.
The Hours Between Dawns by elisewrites
From the Summary -
“Need a favor,” Rio says a moment later, his eyes settling back on her as if to gauge her reaction. Beth suppresses the urge to make a retort or refuse altogether, knowing that despite the tentative cease-fire they’ve been maintaining for the past few weeks, he still has a short fuse when it comes to her, and she still has a long road ahead of her before she’s back in his good graces. “What kind of favor?” She prompts, her tone tepid as she eyes him warily. “Got a meetin’ up North tomorrow night. You comin’ with.”
・・・
Rio takes advantage of a business opportunity by bringing Beth along to pitch her product. When the meeting goes sideways and Beth gets hurt, the tension between them finally comes to a head.
A Bit of a Situation by IFeelLikeGlitter
From the Summary -
“Wh-what are you doing here?”
Her speech is slurred, just slightly, but it’s enough to grab his attention. She’s drunk- the rosiness of her cheeks and the droopiness of her eyes proving that to him.
He sighs and grabs her glass of bourbon off of the counter, wincing at the movement, but finishing it in one swig. Maybe this was a bad idea.
She takes a few cautious steps towards him as he responds with a lazy gesture to the blood covering his upper arm, “I got a bit of a situation.”
Tagging : whoever sees this and can actually narrow down their favs to a top 10, please tag me if you do, I’d love to see which fic/books everyone else enjoyed!

Why is TWDG So Important to You Contest
When I first started playing TWDG, I was around 8 years old. I was baby Clem age. When I had to shoot Lee, I sobbed to the point I had soaked my pillow because... he had become a father figure to me, albeit fictional. No matter how short I'd actually been playing with him.
When I got s2, I cried a lot more. Luke dying really got to me and shooting Kenny, as well. I had really liked him during s1, so it hurt a lot to do that, but even I, at that age, could see that he was dangerous. Dangerous people do things that they don't mean to and others get hurt, so I shot him and cried some more.
S3 was happier than I expected, but losing Marianna hurt. She was just a happy little girl who got shot in the head. I cried some more with that loss. Finding Clementine made me happy because, well, it's Clem. Seeing her little schoolgirl crush on Gabe was cute, too. And Gabe. God. I got attached to him. He died the first time around and it made me sick to my stomach. I had to pause and take a break because I was truly nauseous from it. But, even with that, I enjoyed it. It was a little piece of home.
The Final Season broke me, built me up, broke me again, and covered me in duct tape to fix me up for the last time. Having to see AJ hungry but still worrying about Clem did something to me because I imagined my little brother doing the same. Pretty much the first scene and I was already crying. Once at Ericson, I was skeptical but optimistic and already loving it. The memory of Lee had me sobbing to the point my throat was sore and seeing AJ bring the axe down on Clem made me cry harder because, I knew it was the right thing, but I just hurt so bad because Clementine, the girl who I had grown up with and cared about so deeply, was dead. It left a hollow part of my heart there, if that makes sense.
Then they brought her back and I cried. But something about it just... filled me with a happiness I can't explain.
I love TWDG because it has always been a part of me and I can't imagine it going anywhere anytime soon. I love Clementine, AJ, Lee, all of the Ericson kids, and so many others and I can't leave them behind. I will always have TWDG in my heart, even if it's over now.
@stop-breaking-my-heart-telltale
I follow you under @fus-ro-dah-bitch and I really thank you for creating this contest because I never really thought about why TWDG is so important to me and I think it was good for me to write this down.

here’s my review of all the items in the walking dead definitive edition box! minus the statue because i am poor and could not justify buying it to myself. i wish tho. i wish i had that statue.
but yeah here are the non-statue items and my reviews of each! :)
Tumblr media
first up is the ericson’s shirt! i got an xl and it fits me quite well, and i do like the material the shirt is made of. i feel like the grey is an odd choice though since we never saw that colour in game, and i also feel like the distressing just makes it look like i’ve put the shirt through the wash too many times. overall i wish it looked different but i do still plan on wearing it out, so it’s definitely not a complete wash!
7/10
Tumblr media
Disgo Brogle..... i love this little dude. he’s so funny. whoever came up with disco broccoli deserved a raise instead of being fired without severance pay. the only thing that i don’t like about this guy is the frayed edging on his lapel! it bugs me a lot, specifically i think because the whole point of these products being delayed was quality assurance, and this quality was NOT assured! it’s an easy enough fix but he’s still gotta get some points deducted
8.5/10
Tumblr media
kenny’s hat! tbh it looks a lot better than i thought it would. i can’t say too much about it because i barely got a chance to try it on before my sister seized it but she seems to like it a lot lmaooo
9/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
god i love the tiny clementine. i don’t think this picture fully captures how tiny the fourth and babiest clem really is. she’s so small. i’ve always thought this was such a weird product, and i still do! but it is nice to see her growing up through use of an interesting visual medium, and i didn’t take pic but the back of each doll has the logo from the game she’s from which i think is a nice touch. i’m a little nervous opening it tho because the outermost piece feels a little tight and i’m scared of splintering the wood, but it’s still a nice collector’s piece!
7.5/10
Tumblr media
the last piece that was originally slated to ship is these pins! i really love the clementine, i think she’s just so cute and i like that they decided to put her in her sweater and have her hair cut short. her drawstrings are also a super cute detail! love her....
lee looks... funky. i can’t put my finger on what’s wrong exactly but i think he looks a little off. it might be those nose lines? like he’s not exactly bad, per se, but he isn’t great
clem gets a 9.5, lee gets a 7
and now we’re onto those extra goodies we were promised for the shipment delays
Tumblr media
first is... this. whatever this is. like, it’s an enamel pin, but i think this emblem might be something from the original walking dead comics...? searching this pin brought me to a product not found screen on the skybound store so i guess it’s out of production. idk, i wanna be appreciative but i kind of wish they hadn’t included this cuz it’s just gonna take up extra space in my incredibly cluttered house lmaooo
1/10
Tumblr media
and last but not least, it’s rosie! i do like rosie and i think this pin is very cute. i kind of wish it was a character from another season instead tho, like maybe s2 kenny, or javier. this box is very s4-centric overall, and it does make some sense seeing as this was the only season skybound actually worked on, and typically the latest season (or book or movie or album) is what a company is going to focus on merchandising, but i feel like with a “definitive edition” boxset there should be more from each season. and s3 is very glossed over both in s4 itself and this box! which i get cuz it wasn’t great, but i feel like it should still be honoured. most people i know who play twdg do like javi, at least.
but anyway rosie! she’s good!
6/10
i think for the box as a whole, i rate it a 7/10, and i think that definitely has to do with the fact that it was delayed by like... 5 months? so i had a lot of time to hype myself up and that’s never, ever a smart or good thing to do and is just begging for disappointment. but that doesn’t mean i don’t still love this box! i definitely don’t regret buying it because i am such a huge fan of the series and am just so in love with how much the team behind this box cares about their fans. it’s clear that this wasn’t cheaply put together, as evidenced by the quality control delay, and i do really appreciate the love and effort put into these items, even if i do have critiques. i’m really happy i finally received this and get to hold disco broccoli at night <3

Ey yoooo! You're art is amazeballs! I'm in AWE of your mad skillz, &hello my fellow TWDG!DuckLives AU fan?!? I'm not the only one who wishes that?!? Also, wild concept but, what do you think an AU where Both Duck & Sarah survive to continue traveling with Clem &AJ would be like? Sarah in S3? S4? How would things change or stay the same d'ya think?
Hey there, anon! Thank you so much! ♥ I’m glad you like my AU!
That’s a really good question actually. I hadn’t thought into it very much, but now that you’ve mentioned it, Sarah would be a very interesting character to see develop and grow, especially with both Duck and Clem around.
Here’s some headcanons for you! ♥(I got kinda carried away with this so there’s quite a lot, I hope you don’t mind fuhishfufhs)
By the end of season 2, Clementine’s relationship with both Sarah and Duck would change drastically based on whether she shoot Kenny or let him kill Jane, and so would their character developments from them on.
They’re both appalled if you choose to shoot Kenny. Since Sarah had developed a good bond with him, and Jane always regarded her as a liability, she would be taken aback by Clementine choosing to save Jane out of the two, especially after what she’d done to AJ. The scene would also bring her back the traumatic memory of what happened to her father, giving her an anxiety attack, as Duck mourns over his father’s dead body and confronts Clem about what she’d done. In this scenario, Duck and Clem’s relationship is greatly damaged for the time being, but can be restored later as Duck gets older and understands why Clementine made that call.
If you chose to let Kenny kill Jane, Duck is relieved, albeit shocked by what his father had done. Sarah is frightened of Kenny’s ruthlessness, and is distrustful of him from then on. You aren’t given the opportunity to leave Kenny behind, but you can still go into Wellington without him later.
A while later, into season 3, Clementine cuts some of Sarah’s hair for safety, like Lee taught her to.
Sarah lost her glasses while fleeing from a pack of walkers, so her vision isn’t as good as it used to be and she’s struck with dizziness constantly, another factor to keep her away from fights most of the time.
If Clem and the others stayed with Kenny instead of going into Wellington, he not only teaches Clementine how to drive, but also teaches Duck how to properly handle a rifle, which he picks up surprisingly fast. Before dying, he also teaches him how to hunt.
As age comes to him, Duck quickly abandons his loud, childish ways, and becomes a strong survivor and a cunning marksman. Kenny jokes that his little duckling is now flying off the water.
Kenny also teaches all of them how to properly handle a baby and all the care needed to keep AJ healthy and happy. Even though it takes a while for her to pick up on everything - and to be able to even carry AJ without getting a bit panicky -, Sarah loves looking out for him once she gets the hang of it. It takes her mind off of everything else going on around her, and they can all agree she looks like a complete different person when she allows herself to relax, picks AJ up in her arms and gives him cute baby talks.
Being older than Clem, Sarah is the first one she could possibly confide to when she ‘starts bleeding’. Sarah is a little (and by a little I mean utterly) embarrassed to talk about that, since she wasn’t ever given a proper explanation on why that happened to her either, but she tries her best to convince Clem that it’s not a big deal - it’s just a bit gross and painful.
When they tried to scavenge the New Frontier’s medicine for AJ, Sarah didn’t take part in it. Despite how much she loved AJ, the thought of going against their rules was beyond her. Of course, she wouldn’t tell on them, but she wouldn’t go along with their plans either.
Sarah was reluctant to leave The New Frontier after Clementine and Duck were kicked out for stealing their medicine. She didn’t want to live out in the woods anymore; without food, or water, or safety, and wanted a place to call home - and to stay with AJ in his final moments. She tried to convince them to take them back, but of course they wouldn’t listen.
Sarah attempts to escape with AJ once she realizes he’s alive and well, and that the illness is gone. The New Frontier catches her in act, and questions her for her treachery. They’re both left at the McCaroll Ranch, not long after.
When Clementine and Duck meet the Garcias, Duck gets to experience what it feels like to be jealous for the first time in his life, as he can’t get over Clem and Gabe’s strangely close bond and tries to step in the middle of it at every given opportunity. He blames it on protective sibling instinct, since he didn’t see Clem under a romantic light.
Come season 4, Clem and Duck have reunited with both AJ and Sarah at the ranch. Duck’s hunting has managed to keep them alive for a good while, even though they need to raction their food very strictly in order to stay alive.
Sarah is nearing young adulthood, and is now more secure of herself and can manage her emotions better, even if anxiety still strikes her more often than not. She can now kill walkers with more ease when necessary, and has a small knife as a weapon of choice; sharp enough to kill, but compact enough to not feel like a killer’s weapon.
She has developed good cooking and nursing skills, and even though they rarely have any medicine, she can improvise stitches and patches with very little material, one of the very few things she got out of The New Frontier, as she sometimes watched Dr. Lingard work when he was not drugged.
Sarah and Duck become polar opposite influences on AJ. Duck would be in favor of teaching him to preserve his own life at all costs, never hesitate, and justify his actions. Sarah, on the other hand, has never been supportive of violence and would stand by thinking before acting, and only resorting to killing when absolutely necessary. This polar dynamic would affect either of them after AJ pulled the trigger on Marlon at the school’s yard, depending on Clementine’s choice to teach AJ to justify or regret his actions.
At Ericson, Sarah wouldn’t talk much to the rest of the kids, and would rather stay on her own as she usually did. She would be very interested in bonding with Ruby, as she also shared the passion for nursing, but would be very intimidated by her attitude at first. Clementine would help her befriend Ruby, who she soon realizes to be really nice and sweet.
Duck wouldn’t get along with anyone at first, mostly because he’s very cold and shut to anyone else except Sarah, Clem and AJ. Clem could also help him make friends, even though it wouldn’t work out well at first. He’d be very dismissive of others’ attempts to befriend him, for the most part.
Duck would absolutely hate Louis at first glance. From the moment he started serenating Clementine, he knew he’d hate that guy’s guts.
Louis does his best to earn Duck’s respect. They’re eventually sent on a hunting party together, and Louis compliments his skills with the rifle, dissing Aasim’s “old fashioned grandma bow” and telling him to grade up. Duck chuckles and compliments him in return on the traps he’d built around the forest, but trying to keep it very lowkey. They eventually become good friends, after a short while.
He’d be very fond of Mitch and Willy. Willy reminded him of himself when he was young. and Mitch’s knife skills catched his eyes almost instantly.
Duck would love Rosie. He had a dog a little before the apocalypse started, which he loved beyond belief. Seeing a friendly dog again after so long made him instantly love her.

What are your opinions on the most hated non villain characters like Ben, Sara, Arvo (not really a villain or a good guy ig), and Gabe?
Thanks for the ask, anon!
Ben: He was young and he thought he was doing the right thing by making a deal with the bandits. Lilly was extremely out of line for confronting him so violently right after they lost the motel. For season 1, I generally play a pro-Kenny playthrough but I always vote to allow Ben onto the boat and I always pull him up rather than dropping him. ALSO his death scene is still one of the most heartbreaking scenes in TWDG history; just the emotions behind Kenny of all people deciding to “sacrifice” himself to make sure Ben doesn’t suffer is so beautiful and brings everything full circle. In general, I’m pro-Ben.
Sarah: I always really liked Sarah because though people would deny it, a lot of people would be just as afraid and hesitant as her. I also thought it was completely disgusting how Telltale treated her in season 2 knowing full well how it would look to treat a neurodivergent (or at least a character who is coded as neurodivergent) in such a shitty way. I still wish that Sarah could have survived somehow or at least had better deaths than the ones in episode 4...
Arvo: FUCK ARVO
Gabe: I’m not really the biggest Gabe fan personally but I definitely don’t hate him at all, especially considering all the (unjustified tbh) vitriolic hate he received during s3. Not all apocalyptic kids are gonna be like Clementine. I do wish we could have had more time to see Gabe develop but alas s3 was pretty short and therefore lacking in terms of character development. Whenever I play s3, I generally go for the ending where Gabe and Kate are alive.

Reasons why Wyatt and Eddie should come back in s4/other future twdg and some ways it could be done
Take some heckin’ notes Telltale my dudes (some of these points/ideas I came up with in Discord with friends so pardon me while I try to explain myself thoroughly fdshggd)(Also I’m pretty tired while writing this so I may have missed/not gone over certain points so I might make a part two to this)
-I’ve joked with the Discord about Telltale making a Wyatt and Eddie centered dlc or even a whole game named “420 Days” and even though they would probably never name it that, the concept of it still sticks around with me for just what they could do with it.
-Out of all the characters from 400 Days, I personally found them to be the most intriguing, though I know that’s not true for others. Wyatt’s story brought up tons of unanswered questions about his and Eddie’s life before the apocalypse that would be interesting to explore on. For example, Eddie mentioned that their lives have been going down hill for a couple of months, possibly before the apocalypse. We can only assume by other comments, talk about drugs, prostitutes, “Tiny Carlos” (who, just by the sound of it, is a drug dealer) and presumably drinking and partying, they were in a bad crowd and overall, just in a bad place.
-Along with their past, getting a better understanding of their relationship is high up on what I’d like to see. This kinda goes into a different point, but the only reason why Wyatt wanted to go to Howe’s in the first place was because there was a possibility that Eddie would be there and even when he brings up Eddie, Bonnie, visibly distraught, says Wyatt’s name and perhaps was about to say something else if given the chance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This shows that Wyatt has either talked about Eddie extensively before Tavia found them or enough for at least Bonnie to know how much Eddie means to him. Plus, even after a year, Wyatt is still determined to find him. Though it’s obvious they’re extremely close friends, some of the interactions and comments make it seem like there’s much more than what’s explicitly showed.
-Not only would it be amazing to see them again in s4, it would be great to finally get some closure on them and maybe use this to learn more about them and really dig deep about who they are as characters.
-One idea (if I’m remembering correctly, I brought it up in the Discord and one of my friends mentioned they’ve thought about/are going to write about this idea) is that what if Eddie found AJ all alone while Clementine began looking for him at the end of s3 or even sooner than that. Eddie, though very reckless and never thinks before he acts/speaks, is shown as pretty damn caring so it would make sense for him to try to take care of a baby he found all by itself. It would also be really interesting to see, along with how Eddie and AJ would interact, how Eddie and Clem would interact. They could possibly team up for a short while and during that short while, Eddie would of course ask her if she’s seen Wyatt and describes him to her in great detail. Depending on whether or not Wyatt decides to go to Howe’s, Clem would either answer with a flat no, or with something vague along the lines of “Maybe.”
-With Wyatt’s side of things, along with seeing him now, it could show how Wyatt slowly realized that Eddie was not there and most likely never showing up. It could even show him escaping from Howe’s after the walkers take over. If Wyatt never went to Howe’s, however, it could still show him looking for Eddie and eventually going down the same path he had did if he went to Howe’s.
-This one kinda goes with the dlc idea, but it would be, for lack of a better word, interesting to see Wyatt and Eddie before the apocalypse at what their lives were like and a more controlled showing of their relationship and individual personalities before everything went down. Also, I always had this theory that it was Eddie that took that picture of Wyatt and this could be a chance to show the picture being taken.
-In case it isn’t obvious, I love these two and I firmly believe that they are either in a romantic relationship or, when we saw them in 400 Days, they were in a complicated place between friends and lovers.
Tumblr media
Though it’s never a requirement for a game to include lgbt+ characters/couples, Telltale have shown or at least references lgbt+ characters/couples in two of the previous games, with Walter and Matthew in s2 and with Javi and Jesus in s3. This could be their chance to have an lgbt+ couple more in the limelight or at least more than just referenced to and Wyatt and Eddie would be perfect for this. I would love to see how they would write and show their relationship in a game.
-Kinda the same thing as other points, but I absolutely loved their chemistry and interactions together in 400 Days and after the game ended, I was dying to see more of them. You could tell that they’ve been through so much together and how close they were.
Once again, know I wasn’t able to go over everything but I’ll try to go over the rest another time

I KNOW WHAT’S GONNA HAPPEN IN TWDG S3 FINALE
GUYS I JUST HAD A FUCKING LIGHTNING BOLT MOMENT OH MY GOD I PUT IT UNDER THE CUT:
OKAY OKAY SO WATCHING THE TRAILER I WAS STRONGLY REMINDED OF THE SEASON 1 TWDG FINALE
and i can’t be the only one - like it was a short trailer and there’s obvious differences - but climbing on rooftops, the streets flooded with zombies, jumping onto the outside scaffolding - it was all very reminiscent of that
and i think it was intentional. and they’re paralleling a lot more than we’ve led to believe.
because what has been clem’s goal? for this is entire season what has she been looking for?
AJ, of course. and now she knows where he is, now she’s going to find him. think about it: at the end of season 1, it was lee, against all hope and all odds, going after clem, going to rescue her. he was her family and he wasn’t giving up on her, ever.
and now what is clem doing? the exact same thing. this last episode (for her character) is about her finally reuniting with aj, going after him, going to rescue him, even down to presenting her (potentially, according to the trailer) in very similar situations, with similar imagery (obviously there’s differences; plus javier, minus a walker bite, etc). clementine says it herself “i’ve been here before.”
and she has!
except, except. this time, i think, it’s going to about finding family. instead of losing everyone, losing herself - it’s going to be her making sure she can do for AJ what lee couldn’t do for her. it’s going to be, after all these years, her finally starting to rebuild and stabilise, and all that loneliness & survival (and all of the player’s survival) paying off.
ik that there’s been deliberate parallels in this season to season 1 before w clem and aj and lee, but holy fuck you guys

@jgraydingler I’ve been thinking possibilities for what kind of story The Walking Dead Game could’ve been after S1, like what we’ve talked about before.
If TWDG: S2 ended with Sarah and the baby living in Wellington and Clem going on her own way, in S3 we play as Sarah in her mid-20′s with A.J./O.J. to be 10-12 years old. Members of Wellington make contact with one of the communities from the comics(Alexandria, Hilltop Colony, the Kingdom, The Sanctuary and Oceanside) and it’s decided within Wellington that they’ll send a handful of people to meet with the newly found out communities.
Among the small group is Sarah(and possibly the boy), when they arrive they’re told that the communities have been dealing with some sort of wolf-like beast, which has been terrorising the community’s trade routes. Later, a large amount of people are sent to hunt down the animal, among them again is Sarah. When they finally locate it they unleash their firepower and a great chase ensues. Afterwards Sarah gets separated from the group and the Wolf corners her... but it doesn’t attack. It just seems to stare at her, tilting it’s head. Her puzzlement is short lived when the rest of the platoon finds them both and chases away the beast.
Now about that “TWD: Entropy” idea I suggested, I thought maybe it could’ve been about Clementine’s revelation about her being a Werewolf, and I also thought while having Kenny return for the first time, it could mark the return of Matt from YaYaH(because I like to think of that story as the real TWDG:S2). Or maybe Lilly returns instead.
It turns out Matt(or Lilly) is part of a new group that’s just as shitty as Shaffer’s and they end up screwing with Clem and Kenny, plus some other people. Later on, Matt + others brutalise Kenny and leave Clem to die to walkers, and her first transformation is triggered. She ends up killing most the of the opposing group, including Matt(or Lilly), and Kenny dies from internal injuries. And that, combined with the fact she’s something other than human, sends Clementine way over the edge.
So back to Season 3, basically the season revolves around the community’s feud with Werewolf!Clementine and Sarah trying to figure out the mystery behind it all. I haven’t thought about this a whole lot, I just wanted to know what you thought of this combination of ideas.
Also if there’s been some turn of events involving Matt in Three Orphan Pilgrimage recently I wouldn’t know about it because I haven’t been reading it since chapter 51. Yeah, I’m behind. My apologies, I’ll get back to reading again soon. It’s on my to-do list.

#LifeInPieces S3, Ep. 13 "Therapy Cheating Shoes Movie" Recap/Review
Another week, another fun filled half hour with the Shorts. "Therapy Cheating Shoes Movie" was another winning episode in m book with the humorist moments of Joan getting Tyler and Clementine back together to Tim getting Holly to do his driving test online and Heather tries to make Holly feel bad until Holly tells her that she told the DMV about it and Tim get's his licence suspended. And not to mention Jen getting sick and tired of the family adding more family time with movie night, but realized that it's important and fun. I really enjoyed this episode that it had me laughing from time to time. There stories were so well developed mainly with the movie story one about Jen. I couldn't get enough of the Tim, Holly and Heather story with the DMV, as it was one of my favorites. And I think that were' pretty much happy and knowing that Tyler and Clementine would get back together. OVerall, I give this episode a 8/10. You can catch Life In Pieces Thursdays at 9:30/8:30c on CBS.
