Dusky Wrasse aka Splendid Rainbow Wrasse 💙
As juveniles, dusky wrasses begin as females, changing into a male upon maturation if it is necessary for breeding. They will have a small bit of color on their face while the majority of their body is a brown color with a yellow-ringed spot on the dorsal fin, great for camouflage!
As they mature, their pattern changes into a rainbow shimmer, showing through a dusky blue hue. As adults it is also easier to pick out males due to their larger size as well as them sporting much brighter colors!

Newly discovered rainbow-colored fish lives in the ocean’s ‘twilight zone’
Say hello to the rose-veiled fairy wrasse, a colorful species of fish that’s new to science.
The fish, which bears the scientific name Cirrhilabrus finifenmaa, was found living at depths ranging from 131 to 229 feet (40 to 70 meters) beneath the ocean’s surface.
The name honors the fish’s stunning pink hues, as well as the pink rose, the national flower of the Maldives. “Finifenmaa” means “rose” in the local Dhivehi language.
“Diving there is like visiting another planet,” said senior study author Luiz Rocha, the California Academy of Sciences curator of ichthyology.

Day eight of posting my photography 📷
This is Elessar! He was my Siamese Fighting/Beta fish. He was a very pretty boy and enjoyed his nice large tank.
He shared his tank with my two frogs Sam and Dean (of which Dean decided she liked the look of Elessar’s tail for food and took a chomp. The froggies very quickly got relocated into a temporary tank!)
