not a req, but i wanted to post a little something i’ve been working on!

Home.

The word “home” had long since lost its meaning to the lonesome astral traveler. For as long as he could remember, Stardust Cookie had traversed across countless galaxies, in search of a place he could call his home. Yet, as time continued on, there was no “home” for him to go to. He was nothing else but an insignificant speck in an ocean of stars.

The burden of his disposal weighs heavily upon his shoulders. The difficulty of having to learn he was deemed imperfect or insufficient compared to his sister, Moonlight Cookie, lingered in his head. He searched for a home, yet his true place of origin never felt like one.

Loneliness— it’s almost like a disease. Stardust could feel a void slowly consume him as he continued his travels. Millions of stars surrounded him, and yet, it was as if there was nothing really there. He yelled as much as he could, but there was never a response. He could only continue his journey, alone, with no one there to guide him. There was no one he could rely on, no one he could reach out to. He only had himself.

That was, until he felt a warmth he could have never perceived before.

It was gentle, delicate. He wanted to reach out to it, grasp it, feel it. Whenever he reached out, it almost felt like it was reaching back. It was something completely different in comparison to the cold gaze of the stars surrounding him. He wanted, no, he needed to find it.

He imagined what it would be like being wrapped in the foreign warmth, like a soft blanket. He imagined what it would be like being gently held, like he had been craving ever since he was created. He wanted something, or even someone to fill the void inside him.

“Your cheeks are warm.”

Ah.

His thoughts quickly dispersed at the sound of a gentle voice. At first, he nearly thought it was just his imagination, until he felt two hands gently tug at his cheeks, the same voice chuckling at his reaction to their touch. His eyebrows furrow, but he makes no attempt to move away.

“Don’t go spacing out on me!”

“…”

“…Sorry.”

He does not reply. With a soft sigh, he nuzzles into your neck, slightly inhaling your comforting scent. A smile forces its way onto your lips at the sight. His eyes close at the feeling of your fingers gently weaving through his glimmering hair.

Home.

The title is a complete coincidence, satellite anon lol

“Cookie Command to Y/N Cookie. How’s it going up there?”

“Everything is fine, Command. Just taking it easy on the surface. Those cookies were right, the Moon does look great, especially up close!”

“Roger that, she is shining mighty fine up there from here on Earthbread. How’s the satellite?”

“Doing okay. Not seeing any issues outside of its orbit going a little off course, but I’ve had help with that.”

“Good, good. Be sure to report back in a little while-…did you say you’ve had help with it?”

You shut off your communications as you turned to your side.

“Sorry about that. Where were we?”

“Do you see the stars shining brightly around us, Y/N Cookie?”

“I see them. In spite of their age, they shine as brightly as ever, peppering the night sky with their presence.”

“One day, I wish to become a star myself. Would you think of me when you see it? As I become closer amidst the stars?”

“Oh Stardust Cookie…”

You moved your hand to gently wrap around his.

“You’re already a star to me, among the stars all around us, it’s you who shines the brightest among them. You know my eyes are only for you~ Hehe~”

Stardust can only giggle in return, blush dusting his cheeks. It was now observing the stars together, just the two of you, hands tightly held together.

You’re probably going to get an earful from Cookie Command later, but for now, it was just you and Stardust…

But if you lead I will follow…
