Do you have Headcanons for the two?

So you asked this awhile ago, but I wanna personally thank you because I vaguely referenced how I was putting off your ask to give it some thought. And then, I asked the community about their headcanons. And y'all showed up with that and it's become such a fun way to interact with you all and talk more about this ship as a community. So, in essence, you started this Jazzy!!! Thank you!! There's been a lot that others have submitted that I love, and ones that I'll sprinkle into my fic(s). Right now, I just have Sweet & Sour Dipplins up on AO3. So while there's a lot I could potentially say here, I'll keep my answer very general with all things considered:

Kieran falls first and harder. He had a crush on Juliana during Teal Mask. Juliana didn't really know what to fully think of with her feelings, but she later realized she developed feelings for Kieran here, too. She is also oblivious to Kieran's feelings. They had a lot of unofficial dates during Teal Mask.

Kieran assumes Juliana has had feelings for other people/has a dating history - she does not. She may have thought others were cute before, but Kieran's her first true real crush.

Kieran gets taller than Juliana during the time skip between Teal Mask and Indigo Disk. Before he was the same height. He is also stronger and can carry her.

Kieran and Juliana don't get together officially until post Indigo Disk because Kieran needs to have an edgy phase for personal development reasons. Juliana also needs time to grow as a person, too (in general, she's very sweet and dotes for a lot of people, but she leans more into her strength and resolve when her social relationship with Kieran is strained. Her adventures in Paldea also give her a sense of confidence, too.

Kieran actively denies his feelings for Juliana in angsty sleepless phase. He instead sees her as an obstacle to defeat because of his own insecurities, and tries to convince himself that everything she does (whether to him, or in general) is manipulative. Juliana is uncertain on how to approach him because she feels his anger even if he's not fully speaking on it, but gradually recognizes that showing up for him anyway is meaningful. Meanwhile, any time she is sweet to him, Kieran is having an internal crisis with his feelings.

Juliana likes both sides of Kieran but doesn't know what to make of it. She's also somewhat disgusted in herself for realizing she likes Kieran while he's clearly not too well mentally, let alone not getting along with her (or anyone) too well.

Biggest shippers of this ship include Carmine and Drayton. First shippers were Kieran's grandparents. Carmine helps Juliana figure out her feelings for Kieran, Drayton observes and suspects Juliana's feelings for Kieran and Kieran's feelings for Juliana. He has fun with this while also being on team "calm Kieran down and save him."

Everyone realizes Kieran and Juliana are dating before they do. By the time they announce it, everyone's like "well, duh". This especially embarrasses Kieran, who gets red in the face very easily. On the other hand, Juliana isn't really a blusher.

I'm trying to avoid listing headcanons that others have submitted, but I just have to list the whole "Kieran says wowzers after the first kiss" one because it's so funny and perfect. Juliana also likes hearing Kieran say "wowzers" even though he's trying to outgrow it because it's part of who he is at his core (he also still goes "aww man" sometimes).

Drayton can still mess with Kieran even while he's dating Juliana publicly. #Brotherly love (Note: Crispin also tries to tease, but it does not go as well for him LOL)

Post-angst Kieran is very attentive to Juliana and views her as an unconditional love because she never gave up on him. Nothing can ever distort his view of her again. In some ways, he pedestals her a bit for this and might take her side blindly.

Kieran retains his champion title (i.e. Juliana does not retain it because she's not a full time student), but he does so by working his way back up the ranks because he wants to earn it with his true ideals (i.e. channeling love and connection rather than revenge and winning). Juliana offers to help support him in his redemption arc at Blueberry, but he for the most part prefers to handle it alone since he himself was responsible for his action towards others. Drayton is proud of him when he gets beaten and teases him about Juliana's influence on him, which riles up Kieran.

In Teal Mask and angsty Kieran arc, Juliana leads the dynamic more. Post that, Kieran leads. Juliana thought she was more of a physically affectionate person, but then Kieran waltz in and becomes very lovey-dovey in this area once they're dating. Sleepy Kieran is especially clingy no matter what Kieran version we have. They also both love seeing each other's hair down and enjoy playing with it.

Juliana isn't a good cook and really only knows how to make sandwiches because they were useful. She does, however, learn a bunch of apple-based recipes because it's Kieran's favorite food flavor.

Kieran is technology deficient because of the way he grew up and often needs Juliana's assistance. Carmine, on the other hand, quickly adapted and uses technology better than the average person.

Kieran and Juliana trade each other aaplins as a surprise/way to confess love. They're both flustered when they realize they both traded aaplins.

Juliana flirted first, but Kieran made the first real move. He just needed the push/reassurance in knowing she liked him too.

Juliana can fluster Kieran very easily. By indigo disk, Kieran tries to get under Juliana's skin by turning the tables. It works. But he wasn't ready for that. So he flusters himself as a consequence.

Not Harry Potter-related post. This will be in the Filipino-English with lots of modern slangs. It may not be legible to my friends/ moots here 😆

MARIA CLARA AT IBARRA

My own take on this fantastic series, especially on Fidel’s character. “Maria Clara at Ibarra” is a teleserye or a tv series in the Philippines based of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, two novels of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. It’s about a Gen-Z Filipina being isekaid to the world of the novel. This may be a long post. Cuz I’m just gonna be ranting about my theories and my thoughts

I initially did not watch the first few weeks of Maria Clara at Ibarra properly. I watched it syempre pero kapag yung scenes are parang pinupush together si Klay and Ibarra, di ko pinapanood. It did not sit well with me. Ibarra was known to be faithful and for him to fall for another girl named Maria Clara was such a major OOC and I didn't like it. So sabi ko since di ko bet di ako manunuod coz I don't like talking bad about actors who are actually good at their jobs.

But then! Turns out that was just Klay's kalandian era. Buti na lang nagbalik loob ako. Sinabihan ako ng kapatid ko na lalabas na character ni Sisa and that got my attention! Sisa has always been a character na madalas i-dogshow ng mga tao. Pag nasabihan ka ng "Si Sisa ka ba?", it meant "baliw ka ba?". But we knew there was so much more to her character. Anong nangyare sakanya? Bat siya nagkaganun? How is GMA going to execute Sisa's tragedy? Dami kong tanong. So ayun nanuod na ko ng maayos. And grabe!!! As in grabe! Andrea Torres! Yung chills! Potek grabe yung chills ko sa mga eksena mo mamsh! Literal chills tapos naiiyak ako kase shet! Ang galing mo Ms Andrea Torres! Yung pagportray niya as Sisa was seriously superb. Sisa was more than a baliw! Pinakita nya na people who suffered so much in life, kahit gaano sila kalakas, masisiraan talaga ng ulo. Lalo na nung may mga vultures and nakita niya remains ni Crispin. Grabe yung iyak ko. Sa totoo lang I can't even explain it well. Nagwoword vomit na lang ako kase honestly speechless talaga ko. All I know is ang galing galing ni Andrea Torres.

And then there was Fidel. The greatest mystery of the MCI Universe. Trailer pa lang sabi ko sino role ni David Licauco (bebe quoh)? Eh crush na crush ko pa naman si David since Mr Chinatown (lande mo gagu). So that got me thinking. And I think lahat naman tayo. There was no Fidel in the books. So sino ba siya? Nahook tayo sa character niya kasi wala nga siya sa books. He got us watching kasi gusto natin siya makilala. We want to know who he is, what he is like, what his role is. And honestly speaking, the mystery of Fidel's character was actually the basis and the heart of many theories sa MCI. Nagresearch pa ko, pero wala talagang Fidel. Akala ko nga nung una original character din si Fidel. Like, his character was made up to compensate Klay's lack of romantic partner. Kase I was sure na hindi bibigyan ng ibang leading lady si Ibarra, si Maria Clara (Julie Ann San Jose) lang tlaga. And nacurious na din ako paano magiging flow ng kwento kase nga andun na si Klay so may mababago at mababago talaga. Andun na din si Fidel, na wala naman sa book so pano ba makakaapekto yung role niya sa story. Because of that, nagpile up lang theories about sa story. And ganda lang ng effect nun, lalo na sa youth! They even bought physical copies of the book 😭 sobrang nakakaproud. They were curious too kung paano na magiging flow nung story. And because of the theories, it got all of us thinking. We were analyzing all of their actions, we were theorizing their characters, we were trying to predict ano na mangyayare. In a way, nadevelop yung research and investigative skills natin. What I really commend about MCI was that it remained unpredictable until the very end. Last night na ngayon and we still don't know kung ano mangyayare. It got us hyped from start to finish. Yung antics and quirks ni Klay makakarelate ka din. Tawang tawa ko sa shenanigans niya pati yung paggamit niya sa mga modern slangs. And yung FiLay!!! FiLay nation make some nooooise! Yung enemies to lovers samahan pa ng slowburn at belligerent sexual tension then mutual pining is *chef's kiss*. Anlaptrip ng bangayan nila, yung pang aasar nila sa isa't isa. Bardagulan era at its finest 😂 lagi silang highblood pero grabe yung kilig.

Ako naman my own theory was that Fidel was a minor character of the book but he was a Tabula Rasa, a blank slate. He was like the Daphne Greengrass of Harry Potter. Her name was mentioned pero yung story niya was blank. Kaya nga fanfiction writers are fond of her kasi she doesn't have her own story so writers make her stories on their own. I thought Fidel was like that. Ibarra and Maria Clara's story was already written from start to finish. Their stories were predetermined. Kaya nga kahit anong gawin ni Klay, namatay pa din sila because that was how their roles were written. The only difference was the way it happened. In Klay's version, Maria Clara died protecting her man. Clarita was also so much stronger here than in Rizal's version. Ibarra died, not alone, but surrounded by his friends. Also, both of them died in Klay's arms. Kaya siguro nag-hold on si Klay sa pagkabuhay ni Elias. He was supposed to die sa first book. He was proof na kaya ni Klay baguhin yung kwento. This was the case with Juli as well. Pero siguro, di talaga pwede for our main characters. Anyway, back to Fidel. As I've said he's a blank slate. His story was not predetermined kaya hawak niya yung destiny niya. He can choose what path to take without it interferring with the story. Feel ko nga kung sumama siya kay Klay sa modern world, the first time she went back, okay lang. The story would go on kahit umalis siya sa book. Pero may plothole. Unlike Daphne Greengrass na may pangalan at least, si Fidel wala talaga. I thought maybe iba name niya sa book. Pero I don't know kung sino. So kahit ako, I doubted my own theory. Inisip ko na lang baka totoo yung theory na galing siya sa real world. Basta para siyang si Haru of Extraordinary You (July Found by Chance). Diba nameless extra siya tapos biglang nagkaron ng role? Parang ganorn.

And what a plot twist! Ang ganda and ang galing! Naisip talaga yun ng writers. I wouldn't have thought about it. Pero shet napa-palakpak ako nung nalaman ko essence ng character niya and legit naluha ako. That was brilliantly written. Very fitting and mapapasabi ka ng "HOW COULD WE FORGET ABOUT THEM? THEY DESERVE TO BE RECOGNIZED TOO!"

In a way, tama din pala yung theory ko. Fidel was a minor character in the book na "hanggang dito" lang yung role. And iba nga yung name na ginamit! His role was too minor na yung palayaw niya lang or yung pinangkukutya sakanya, Albino, was used and not even his real name. His character had no notable scene nor significance as his role supposedly started and ended as “Crisostomo Ibarra’s playboy friend who used to attend the Seminary”. He was only in at least one scene and was only mentioned a few times. That was it. Pero dahil sa entrance ni Klay sa book, nagkaroon siya ng maayos na papel sa kwento. If it weren't for Klay, he was gonna remain the playboy he was and magiging boyfriend ni Victoria. Dapat yun na yun. But because of his arguments and confrontations with Klay, nagkaroon ng color yung character niya. His involvement with her gave depth to his character and a bigger role. Fidel was initially a misogynist, who hated Klay's straight-forwardness and her being too opinionated. Yung ugali ni Klay na di nagpapatalo infuriated him to the point na ang tawag niya kay Klay ay bruha ("witch"). However, due to her influence, narealize ni Fidel na napaka narrow-minded niya pala and there's more to Klay than the annoying palasagot Binibini na di mapigilan ang bibig. He found her kakaibang ugali, morals, and ideals to be intruiging. He was attracted to her just as much as he hated her. This was why he gravitated towards her. Ang ganda ng character development ni Fidel. He was just a privileged and entitled man na walang pakialam sa kahit ano prior to Klay but because of her influence, he actually saw kung ano pinaglalaban ni Klay and he did not only fall in love with her, but with the country as well.

*simping* I love him, your honor. 😍

Because of this development, Albino evolved from just being a side character, who was not even given the chance to use his own name, to being Fidel Delos Reyes y Maglipol, Ibarra’s best friend, Klay’s greatest love, and a symbol of the revolution. Because of Klay, the not-so-important side character Albino became the very significant main character Fidel. He became more than just a letter, more than just a word in a book. Because in the end, he was so much more. He was meant to be so much more. He symbolizes the unsung heroes of the revolution. Those who contributed a lot but remain unnamed to this day. THE WRITERS WERE WAVING THE HINT IN OUR FACES AND WE DID NOT KNOW ANY BETTER! He was "unnamed"! That was the clue! He was one of the unnamed heroes na madaming nagawa sa bayan pero they were never acknowledged.

Wag ka na iyak, bebe quoh 😢

Kaya nakakainis yung nagsabi na nalihis daw kwento ng MCI kase nagfocus na sa loveteam. Sinasabi pa na wala naman si Fidel sa book bat naging important bigla. I was like ???? what the hell are you saying? FiLay moments were literal crumbs! Crumbs! Fans were licking crumbs kase sobrang onti ng mga scenes nila together. We were thirsty for such moments! Akala siguro nila puro loveteam na lang kase di naman sila nanuod talaga. And maingay kase FiLay fans sa socmed. Puro fanedits lang naman napanood ng mga taong yun. They did not watch until the end kase ni hindi nila alam kung anong essence ng character ni Fidel! Kung gaano ka-deep yung significance and yung symbolism ng character nya. And galing ng move ng GMA na bandang ending na nireveal kung sino Fidel. It kept us on our toes, anticipating kung anong mangyayare, or kung sino yung may tamang theory. Yung pagbuild ng character niya was slow, which was a good thing. He was unlikeable nung simula. He deserved that slap from Klay! Dasurv mo yun Fidel, dapat nga isa pa eh! Even as he was falling for Klay, he was still prejudiced. Madami pa din backhanded comments from him (that “langit ako at ikaw ay lupa” will always be gold lmao). Pero yun yung kagandahan dun. Unti unti nating nakita yung pagbabago sakanya. And ang natural pa ng execution. Hindi yung porke nainlove eh bigla na lang nag 180 degree turn yung ugali. He was not like that. Kasi in real life, hindi naman talaga bigla nagbabago ang isang tao. The process was slow pero nung namulat na si Fidel, he became a key member of the revolution. ("Ang namulat, hindi na pipikit" *ehem* sorry not sorry *ehem*). Also, Fidel's character saved Klay's character from almost becoming Ibarra's "kabit". We don't tolerate third party in this community. Yung pain ni Maria Clara nung akala niya na kerida ni Ibarra si Klay. If you have been cheated on or kahit hindi but your partner made you doubt your relationship, magegets niyo si Maria Clara. She had to stop herself from seeing Ibarra kase that was what was proper that time while Klay was kasakasama niya sa bahay and kahit saan man. She was the fiancée and napaka unfair nun sakanya. Buti na lang, the magkatukayo were given the chance to become best friends to the point na sobrang minahal ni Klay si Clarita and that was ultimately the very reason why she decided to go back to the book, to save her.

Anyway, eto muna for now. Babu!

TANGINA! TANGINAAAAA! ANG GANDA NG ENDING SHEEEET

Mr Torres is a book keeper/traveler. And was that Ate Helana I saw? Another minor character in the book, with Mr Torres, in the real world, most probably with memories. AND FIDEL!!!! BEBE QUOH 😭 May pocket watch din siya! Does that mean book keeper din siya? Or maybe one of Mr Torres's alitaptaps or isa sa mga tao niya? Pero bakit sila Ibarra and Maria Clara walang memories? OMG Barry x Clarisse! MAY BABY PA!

Okay theory time! So my take here is siguro the minor characters in a story are the ones who are capable of book travel. Pero once nasa book na sila, in-character na. So nakakalimutan nila na taga real world pala sila. Kapag tapos na ang story saka lang nila maaalala na taga real world pala sila, and then either back to the real world sila or pupunta sila sa ibang story, kung saan may emergency at need ng intervention ng isang book keeper. And yung role ni Fidel, kung ano lang yung role ni Albino sa original novel, hanggang dun lang siguro siya supposedly and mawawala na siya dapat after niya mafulfill yung role niya. However, due to his interactions with Klay, napatagal siya sa book and mas lumaki yung papel niya sa kwento. For the main characters naman, I think they were never in the book to begin with. Kase diba sa books, there was never a mention of their physical descriptions. Nasa imagination natin yun. So siguro the main characters take on the image of real life people, preferrably yung malalapit lang pala satin. And whatever their role is, whether they survive or not, whether they have a happy ending or not, kelangan nila mafulfill yun or else the story won’t end. Kaya walang memories si Barry nor si Clarisse.

Another theory is maybe napili ni Mr Torres si Fidel na maging book keeper. Kase the last time they saw each other, nakikita na ni Fidel si Mr Torres eh dati hindi. And siguro may some kind of test. Siguro he has to prove himself pa as a book keeper bago siya makabalik kay Klay. I call dibs na galing siya sa Mga Ibong Mandaragit, a novel by Amado V. Hernandez. The novel acts as a sequel to Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo after all. Or baka siya yung dahilan ng emergency sa Mga Ibong Mandaragit lol.

So Fidel is not a counterpart. He is still himself. He is the same Fidel that Klay met and fell in love with with. The same Fidel we all fell in love with. Our Pambansang Ginoo. Hanggang dulo ang ganda ng plot twist! Literal goosbumps! Figuras Cabalisticas now makes sense. Pero di ko na i-eexplain dito kasi the subject is too complicated and mahirap ipaliwanag without my usual word vomit. And magiging mahaba na tong post masyado haha.

AND GRABEEE! MGA KA-SAKLAY! WE WON! FiLay ENDGAME! NAHANAP NA NI FIDEL SI KLAY! WALA NANG BABU! 😭 And alam niyo yung maganda sa ending? There were no words exchanged. They were just looking at each other and smiling. Kase di na kailangan pa ng mga salita. Antagal nilang hinintay ang isa't isa. 13 + 7 years kay Fidel jusko talk about faithfulness! Dude the longing! The yearning! Pano niyo kinaya grabe. They finally found each other and this time, there will be no more goodbyes. They have a long life ahead of them.

What a journey! Kudos to GMA! To all the actors and staff! You all did very well! Salute to Dr. Jose Rizal. Isang pagpupugay sayo. 🙇🏻‍♀️ Tanda ko nag cutting class pa kami sa Rizal class namin back in college as we didn't see the relevance of the subject sa Civil Engineering, just like how Klay didn't see its relevance to Nursing. Sorry po 😞. Pero kung i-isekai niyo ko, dun din sa may Fidel plith thank you pows huhu.

I will not stop raving about this series. Ending na pero pinag iisip pa din tayo. Andami pa ding ireresearch. Dami pang theories. And that's the reason kaya ako magrerewatch at magbibinge watch neto from the start! WALANG MAGPAPAHINGA SA FANDOM NA TO!

YAKAPIN ANG KULAY! MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS! MABUHAY ANG MGA ANAK NG BAYAN!

15,do you like to talk during movies? or silence?: If i'm watching a movie with a group and we've seen it before i like to talk, quote a long and make jokes. If it's a movie i never seen then I prefer silence. But if I'm watching a movie by myself i sometime make commentary out loud lol

17. favorite actress: A few years ago i would have said Helena Bonham Carter, but she has defended jk (saying that 'she's allowed her opinions' in regard to her transphobic views) so my views on her are shattered. THB I don't think I've seen enough of one actresses filmography (besides HBC) to say who my favorite is. There are a lot of great actresses who i enjoy, but i have not seen enough of their work. Screw it, I'm gonna cheat and say my irl friend, Olivia Gault. Cause not only is she a great actress she's a great human being!

18. Favorite Actor: This one is easier cause i'm a big homo who watches my crushes entire filmography lol Here is a list of a few: Crispin Glover, Andy Serkis, Tim Curry, and Peter MacNicol

now that im done with my live blog...you mentioned some ideas i gave you? care to share? :D And how was the rewatch for you in general? Anything that really sticks out for you in hindsight?

I really appreciate doing this rewatch, both because it was tons of fun, and because I think it helped loosen my writer's block! I ended up with a few concepts along the way, a couple I already scrapped because they were too rough or just wouldn't have been as interesting as I initially hoped, but there are a couple I'd at least like to try and flesh out proper

-Post-canon with the baby angels, with a mix of cute baby mischief and the angels reflecting on the past/their optimism for doing things better the second time around

-How the spirits originally ended up in the angels' possession, it was mentioned that the warriors 'disappeared' but also that the spirits were specifically given (this one is probably gonna get a little angsty and sad)

-Post-canon with the kids trying to re-adapt after being stuck in fight-or-flight for several months (this one is the most tenuous on whether or now I'll end up writing it, because it definitely would be pretty angsty and I don't know if that would be too much)

-Group hug fic. I don't care if it makes sense that it didn't happen in canon, or that I technically already did that with Acclimation, I'm giving Koichi a fucking hug

One of the really fun parts of going back to watch something again when you're older is that I've got a lot more knowledge and experience to analyze it critically. And I don't just mean spending the whole time going 'oh this sucks' because yes yes we all know the power scaling is stupid and parts of it were lowkey misogynistic and the pacing can be rough in spots, I mean it's fun to look at stuff on a technical level and in terms of its individual aspects.

For example, partly due to the dub changes and partly due to just being a dumb little kid, I hadn't realized there was a persistent theme of religion/mythology across the whole thing, and it was neat to notice! Considering that the Digital World's past and the mythos that sprung up around it and the legendary warriors themselves are a massive part of this world's backdrop, and the fact that the ultimate villain is based on Lucifer, the idea that a tyrannical fallen angel gets defeated by a group based on all different kinds of gods and creatures from all over the world is really very cool! I still maintain this series has one of the best portrayals of the Digital World

I'm not gonna say too much about the acting, mainly because I feel like having any serious complaints would be silly, I mean it was 2001 and I think anime in the US still had to have been a more niche thing, and even then I still hold a huge soft spot for early 2000's dubbing. Some of the things like dub-added accents were so gloriously stupid that I can't help still liking it. It still feels a little weird that EmperorGreymon was the only one with a sudden shift, but I can fully respect Reisz's concern about damaging his voice, gotta know your limits. (Apparently Wittenberg fully took over Takuya's part for the film, I'm gonna have to go back and see if it's obvious enough to notice. Also, fun fact that I would not have realized if I hadn't stumbled upon it, he voiced literally all of the Trailmon. Helluva range!)

(Also still a little surprised at Crispin Freeman's range, mainly because the others didn't seem to have as drastic a change between forms, but I love it! My only complaint in that looking up more of his voicework, the rougher voice seems to be the one he uses more often, and if I had to pick between the two I really do prefer the softer voice. Yes that's biased because I had a crush as a kid, and I'm not apologizing)

I think the pacing is still better than people tend to give it credit for, I could see the Knights arc being a couple of episode shorter, but I still stand by my belief that it really was good and did a good job in doing callbacks and hammering it home that yes, the literal world is being deleted in chunks and that is terrifying. If anything, I felt the only real part that was an 'oh god hurry the fuck up already' drag was getting to the castle and fighting Cherubimon, but at least that was just a couple of episodes and it gave us not-Christopher Walken.

Luca and R.B feelings towards the BB league + Kitakami sibs.

Luca:

Kieran - Crush on him. Obvious crush on him. Feels A Lot about him, despite his denial. Is incredibly happy they're starting over again. Literally attached to the hip post ID lmao.

Carmine - Originally just saw her as his Cousin but More. And to an extent still does. But seeing how she wants to change for Kieran and herself and is trying to be better, he can safely call her a friend :)

Lacey- FELLOW PINK FAIRY LOVER YAAAAAY. they get along super well! Lacey made him a crochet plush one time :3

Amarys - Admittedly hard to gather how they would interact. Though I think she's more than happy that Kieran has found someone to look after him. I think they're friends too, albeit maybe not super close.

Crispin - Any friend of Kieran is a friend of his!I think they match each other's energy very well! Luca might be a teeny tiny bit jealous of how he much closer he seems with Kieran, but overall I think they're buddies.

Drayton - He! Does not like drayton, sorry. He was pretty neutral on the guy buuuuut everything up to the end of his battle with Kieran rubbed him the wrong way :/ Luca is still nice to him of course, and does hope they can be friends one day.

R.B:

Kieran - She kinda sees a bit of herself in him, but also isn't afraid to speak to him as her equal. As in she will be blunt with him. That being said, they're not super close atm, since she wasn't as involved in the kitakami stuff. But I 100% believe R.B gets him into goth fashion, even lending him her old clothes :)

Carmine - Formerly, they mutually disliked each other, which continued in ID until they had to work together. They wouldn't exactly consider each other a friend yet, but they're more lighter on each other than before. They still argue, but it's more playful this time around. They talk smack about drayton together.

Lacey - I think Lacey would call R.B cute ( platonically) and R.B would explode. They have incredibly different vibes but R.B is besties with Luca so it's not that hard for her to chill with Lacey. Lacey is too polite to talk smack about Drayton, but know she is Agreeing.

Amarys - Despite her relationship with Carmine, I think these two get along well. In a more " we don't talk at all but it doesn't matter because we immediately Get It" type of way. R.B appreciates how much of sweetheart Amarys is, she will cry about it.

Crispin - Yay someone to cook food for her. Really, she likes Crispin and REALLY appreciates how direct he is. Not the brightest z but he got spirit and she respects that.

Drayton - 🖕 Yeah.

Sorry for the Drayton slander but heeee did not leave a good impression for either of them. Maybe in the future they all can vibe ( I can see Drayton and R.B chilling) but yeah. Sorry Drayton, better luck next time.

After observing the Trese fandom in their natural habitat (twitter, yt, fb, tumblr etc) I've noticed a few things. These are:

- Trese comic fans are pretty chill that netflix modified the story. salutations to ya'll 😎👍

- a lot of dub fights.

-but an overall agreement that the japanese dub was pretty dope.

- Every filipino who saw the choc-nut size and ratio felt betrayed somehow.

- a serious analysis and theory posts surrounding Trese and the filipino folklore.

- A lot of monsterfuckers.

- filipino fans genuinely happy to have an animation series that they can relate to and find representation.

- A LOT of Basilio and Crispin simps. Not surprised because hot damn look at those fine as---

- people complaining about how it only has 6 episodes so it feels like the story was fast paced. Netflix please fix this.

A/N: Hello I am back. Gahd, I had a rough week last week so might as well post the second chapter today. I hope you like it! Also, more Crispin and Basilio wingmen moments hfhdjd

CHAPTERS:

Chapter One: Kaibigan o Pag-ibig?

✨✨✨

CHAPTER TWO: Isang Tingin Mo lang

Before the sun rose, everyone met up at the Trese residence, ready for the trip. The twins helped them placed their bags at the back of the van. Once done, Hank closed the compartment of the van, and made his way to the driver’s seat. “Come on, slowpokes, let’s go!” Amie and Hannah got inside the van, then the twins. By the time Elena got into the van, Crispin was already beside Hannah, and beside him was Mal, and Basilio and Amie were sitting together with the bags beside them. “Elena!” Hannah called her, breaking her train of panicking thoughts. “Let’s go! We’re gonna be late to our summer vacation! The beach awaits us!” Elena sighed, and cautiously settled down beside Dominic, who was staring out the window. It was funny, honestly, that their only interaction was when he showed her around the campus. After that, they never looked at each other, nor spoken a word.

During the whole trip, everyone in the van already took pictures with every possible angle and pose, jammed to the songs played on the stereo, despite it being Hank’s favorites, and discussed the activities for the day. Elena of course joined at the conversation, and Dominic would nod every now and then, but the tense atmosphere was still present in between them. In the middle of the journey, most of them snoozed off, reserving their energy for the day. Elena plugged her earphones on her phone, and started to sleep. Dominic was the only one awake at the back of the van, still looking out the window. He can’t stand the fact that Elena was beside him, and he didn’t do anything nor talk to her. When he noticed that Elena’s head was falling off the head rest of the seat, he slowly pushed her head towards his shoulder.

The van came to a stop, and it awoken most of them. “We’re here!” Amie yelled, waking the rest of the group. Dominic perked his head up, and saw the group hopped off the van. He then looked at Elena, still sleeping. He gently shook her to wake her up, and her eyes fluttered open. Elena lifted her head, only to meet Dominic’s eyes, staring at her. “Ah, hey, Dom. I’m sorry if I fell asleep on your shoulder,” she quickly apologized, turning red in the process. Dominic smiled at her, and replied, “It’s alright, Lena.” Once they both got out of the van, Elena quickly ran towards Basilio. “Bas, I need to tell you something!” Basilio, who was still taking out the bags from the back of the van, chuckled. “What? You’re thirsty again?” He teased. Elena punched his arm and groaned. “Alright, alright, what is it?” He asked, taking out the last bag from the van and closing the compartment. Elena swung her bag on her shoulder, and they started to follow the others towards the resort. “Dominic smiled at me for the first time!” Elena said softly, still high on the idea that it actually happened. “Dom always smiles at you, you just don’t notice it.” Basilio replied, placing the bags on the floor. Alexandra was talking to the person behind the desk, while the others were taking selfies on every corner of the lobby. “You know I’m shy around him, that’s why I never notice the stuff that you notice,” she said. Just when Basilio was about to reply, he heard Hank calling his name, as well as the other guys’ names. “We’ll be in the same room, so you better watch your move around me,” Hank said as he led the way to their room. “I’ll chat you once we’re in the room,” Basilio whispered, and then walked away. “Alright, us girls will be in one room. Let’s go?” Alexandra said. Amie and Hannah squealed, excitedly discussing which swimwear to wear for today.

Elena walked out of the bathroom with her skin tone one-piece swimwear, and Amie gasped at the sighed of her. “You look amazing! Oh my god, I love how it fits you perfectly!” she squealed, hugging Elena. Elena laughed, and looked down on herself. “Well, it does look great. My flaws are overly exposed though, but the cover up would look great on this,” Elena replied, wrapping the cover up skirt around her waist.

Once everyone was done preparing with a ton of sunblock on their skin and big sunglasses on their eyes, they all met up on the resort’s lobby. Mal whistled at the sight of the girls approaching them, and Amie and Hannah certainly loved the attention. “So, what do you think, boys?” Hannah asked, posing in front of them. “You all look hot, especially Elena. What a transformation, babe!” Mal replied, fixing his gaze on Elena, who was already hiding her blushing face. “Thank you, Mal,” Elena replied. “Yeah, better enjoy looking at us while it lasts,” Amie added, giggling with Hannah. First activity on the list: island hopping and snorkeling. While on the boat, the girls were busy posing while the twins took their photos. “Come on, Elena, it’s your turn!” Amie called out. Elena smiled and politely shook her head. “Seriously, guys, I would be okay if we were in a group photo. I just think I don’t look great in a solo picture,” she said. Mal then laughed, and looked at Elena. “Nonsense, Lena. You look stunning in solo pictures. I still remember asking you to pose during the campus’ foundation day,” Mal said, scrolling through his phone. Once he found what he was looking for, he showed everyone the shot he was talking about. It was Elena in her college department shirt, smiling at the camera. “You’re right, Mal,” Crispin agreed, “Elena looks like she could charm everyone around her.” Everyone on the boat agreed, and Elena raised her hands, surrendering. “Alright, I give up. I’ll have my photos taken on this boat and everywhere if that makes all of you happy.” Amie and Hannah cheered, and Mal then raised his hand, silencing them. “I’ll take your photos, Elena. I’ll make you look amazing, babe,” Mal said, winking at her.

After the whole morning of harmless flirting, swimming, eating, and a hundred photos taken, the group decided to lounge around in their respective hotel rooms. The boys finally lied down on their beds after cleaning up, watching whatever was on the TV. “Hey Mal, you better be careful with flirting,” Dominic said out of the blue, silencing everyone in the room. “Why?” Mal asked. Dom shook his head, and smirked at him. “Just warning you,” he replied. Hank then groaned. “You teenagers and your warnings. When I was your age, I was a chick magnet. Everyone loved my style,” Hank boasted. Crispin was already holding back his laugh, and being his twin, Basilio replied, “Oh, they must’ve really loved your durian scented perfume.” The boys laughed at the remark, and Hank threw a pillow at the younger twin, annoyed.

Everyone met at the resort’s restaurant that evening. There was a seafood dinner buffet in the resort, and it was definitely a time to actually relax. Not only that, there will be unlimited beer, which Hank loved a lot. “Oh, good thing we’re all above the legal drinking age. We’ll definitely get drunk tonight!” Basilio cheered. They found a table that would fit everyone and they all lined up for the buffet. Laughing, singing, constant glancing from across the table, more flirting, and then happy hour came. When the singer on staged asked for a jammer, Crispin immediately made his way to the small stage. “Alright, our second jammer for tonight’s happy hour!” The singer said, gaining a cheer from the group. “What’s your name?” the singer asked, pointing the mic at Cris. “Crispin, but you can call me baby,” he replied, winking at her. The singer laughed at his remark. “Okay, that was smooth! What will you be singing tonight?” Crispin took the mic from the singer, and pointed at the group. “I know that someone likes someone in my barkada, and this song is for you so that you’ll get out of your shell and actually admit what you feel!” Everyone in their table cheered, and Elena’s cheeks reddened. Dominic lowered his head, and groaned at the Crispin’s stupidity. “It’s time, my dude. This is Kailan.” The guitarist played the intro on his guitar, and Crispin was thankful that the mic was wireless. As he sang the first verse of the song, he slowly walked towards the table. The gang was waving their hands in the air, even Hank who was enjoying everything because of the free beer.

“Kailan, kailan mo ba mapapansin ang aking lihim…” Cris sang, as he swung his arm around Dominic, who was frowning and blushing so hard. Then, Cris looked at Elena, who was also blushing. “Kahit ano’ng aking gawin, ‘di mo pa rin pansin…” Elena looked at Basilio, and he just nodded at her. “Come on, Dominic Villaceran, go get the girl!” Crispin yelled. Elena really doesn’t know how to decide at this point. Maybe because of the alcohol and the overwhelming feeling she has in her guts. She stood up, and everyone looked at her. Hannah and Amie were squealing again in the background, while Basilio was already recording the whole thing.

“Dominic Villaceran!” Elena called out loudly, and Dom looked up at her, confused. Elena looked at everyone in their table, and she took a deep breath. “I like you! I like you so much since the day I met you!” At this point, everyone was cheering, and Amie was already hugging her and congratulating her for being brave. She doesn’t seem to care if everyone already knew about her secret crush. Dominic, on the other hand, was still staring at Elena. He did hear that, right? That Elena actually likes him? Mal gave Dom a pat on the back, and told him to go get her, but before he could even move, Elena was already walking away from them, entering the resort.

Alexandra entered their hotel room, and saw Elena on their bed. “Lena?” Alex said softly, placing a hand on her back. Elena quickly wiped away her tear, and faced her Ate. “Ate Alex. What are you doing here?” she asked, sitting up. Alexandra tilted her head, and fixed Elena’s hair. “You were really brave out there. You should’ve seen Dominic’s face,” Alex chuckled, and Elena sighed at the thought. “Well, I did. He seems uninterested. He was just staring. I told myself that I’ll make a move this summer, but I didn’t expect it to be this disappointing,” Elena said. The whole event just made her want to go home. Alex scooted in and wrapped Elena in an embrace. “I know this is still embarrassing for both of you. Believe me, I’ve been through it, but let’s just treat it as a bad dream for now and enjoy our vacation, okay? I’m here whenever you need some girl talk.”
