Welcome to 1890🕰️🌾🍂
A new decade has begun and with it great changes have come, although as always, there are things that never change.
In hendford-of-bagley social inequality is evident. A few run the city as they please while the rest suffer and starve.

In a flash, Mrs. Crumplebottom exited her stall and pushed her way between them.
Mrs. Crumplebottom: You'd better keep those hands of yours to yourself, young man!
Hunter: Uh, what?
Mrs. Crumplebottom: You heard me! I won't stand by and watch you get handsy with Miss Snow! You need to learn some manners!
Before Hunter could even respond, her purse was flying!

Myrtle seemed dubious and sad.
"Don't make that face, Myrtle. It makes you look miserable!"
Myrtle inhaled and let out a heavy sigh, "Hmmph..."
"You don't want to dwell onto fearful thoughts. Trust me, it will do nothing but pressing you down into more fear!"
"I told Agnes the same thing when she came up with the idea of some curse being upon her."
"Did you just say…"
"A curse?!"
Agatha shaked her head, "Believe me when I tell you the number of times I tried to reason with Agnes about the curse thing!"
"She wouldn't listen! It was already ingrained in that skull of hers. She was too affected by her own thinking. What do you think would happen?"
"You see, when a stress-inducing idea is deeply anchored into someone's head, it's difficult to get it out."
"Just like seeds, Myrtle, ideas grow roots. Roots become plants that mature into fruit-bearing trees."
"The fruits of stress produce more distress. Same with your fears. Focus more on them and you get more in return!"
"Agnes was telling me everyday about the curse that she believed had been cast on her and by who? No one knows! She would then ask me countless questions on what I knew about spells."
"She really believed someone did something to her. She said 'they' wanted to ruin her chances of marriage and happiness."
"They?"
"Who's 'they'?"
"Not a clue. She affirmed that 'they' are trying to hurt her! She was certain of it! I myself tried multiple times to think of a logical explanation to the strange happenings but..."
Myrtle had a nervous little laugh, "There's none."
Agatha looked at her with interrogating eyes.
"There's none," Myrtle repeated. "No logical explanation."
Agatha looked down, and sighed.
"Do you believe in ghosts?" Myrtle asked.
"Do I… what?"
"You used to back in the day," Myrtle recalled. "You were quite eloquent on what's true regarding certain unexplained phenomena."
Agatha had a brief chuckle.
"It was more about debunking what's fake," she said. "But that was a long time ago."
"Do you still believe?" Myrtle asked.
Agatha opened her mouth but no sound came out from it. She exhaled. She seemed battling with her own thoughts for a moment. She squinted her eyes and looked away.
She stared in the void under the curious eyes of her friend. Myrtle really wanted to know what was going on in her friend's mind, that very moment.
After a silence that seemed like a year, Agatha nodded and closed her eyes. Myrtle nodded as well, repeating her friend's head movement.
"I think she's right," Myrtle said.
"Huh?"
"Agnes," Myrtle said. "She's cursed."

While she handled her business with Mrs. Crumplebottom, Hunter excused himself to visit the grocery stall to pick up a few things. Really, he didn't want to spend any more time with the old woman than he had to. Anytime she spotted him, he could feel her glare on him anywhere he went, and as he pecked his wife's cheek, the glare only intensified.

Leo’s hard work has paid off because the crops are thriving! An unexpected visit from Agatha Crumplebottom was proof of this!
“I just wanted to stop by and see where all the magic happens!” Agatha explained. “ We are actually looking for a new supplier for our vegetable shop. Would you be interested in meeting with Agnes and I for dinner tonight?”
It sure was strange dining out with the Crumplebottom ladies! Agatha even joked to the bartender that they were Leo’s side chicks. Agnes was very serious but by the end of the night Leo was able to get a smile or two from her.
“We’d be glad to work in partnership with you, Mr Smith” Agnes said. “On one condition, however. You take that Mayor’s son under your wing. The boy could use a lesson in identifying quality produce!”
