When Ray first met you, it was your first day at the orphanage. You were gripping Mom’s hand like it was your life support and shifting your weight from foot to foot as you eyed all the children and your new surroundings, slightly hiding behind Mom.

During play time you had planned to simply sit under the tree until you noticed the spot was already taken by a boy. He stood out from the rest, with his long black hair which covered one of his eyes, and how he tended to stick more to himself.

Ray looked up from his book, feeling eyes on him, to catch you staring and standing awkwardly. Then suddenly, you felt a hand on your shoulder, making you scream and jump, only to turn and notice it was Isabella.

“Apologies for scaring you, dear. Why don’t you go talk to Ray? He doesn’t bite.” You looked to the floor and held onto Isabella’s skirt, causing her to smile and place a hand on your back, guiding you over to the boy.

“Ray, this is Y/N. She’s shy, so please be nice to her. I hope you two can become good friends.” Ray nodded as Isabella walked off and back into the house, leaving you no other choice but to sit down next to the boy. Looking over at him, you noticed the book in his hands, and got curious from the title.

“Oh, you like this book? I’ve already read it a few times, you can have it if you’d like.” You gently took the book from his hands, turning it to the back to see what it was about, and you were already hooked from the first couple pages. Ray chuckled at how quickly you were flipping through it, until Mom’s bell rang, alerting all the children to come back inside. You tried to hand the book back to him, but he stopped you.

“Keep it. You seem to like it.” You smiled at him as he stood, extending his hand out for you to grab. After pulling you up, the two of you walked in together. Well, you would’ve if you weren’t stopped by Norman and Emma (technically just Emma, but she of course got Norman to help).

“Hey Ray!! Who’s she? I saw you two sitting together!”

“This is Y/N. She’s new here.” Ray responded, glancing over at Norman who just gave an apologetic smile, to which Ray shook his head to.

“Ohh! Hello Y/N! I’m Emma, and this is Norman! Wanna be friends?” You were at a loss for words. Of course, Emma’s cheery and energetic self brought a smile to your face, but you were still quite shy and didn’t know how to respond.

“Uh, yeah sure..” You whispered, looking at the ground. You didn’t mean to seem disinterested, you just weren’t good around new people. And Emma of course grew worried with this.

“Hey, is something wrong?”

“She’s just shy Emma, give her some space.” Ray responded for you, you mentally thanking him as you looked back up at the trio.

“Oh! I’m sorry, Y/N. Well, I’ll see you at dinner!” And with that, you slowly spent more and more time with the trio, eventually becoming apart of the group. They all got used to your quietness, never bothering to ask how you somehow always knew everything even when you were sitting out of conversations. Though even if you weren’t involved, you were silently listening and watching, which is how you learnt the secret of the orphanage. But what the trio didn’t know was of your chaotic side.

They were all surprised of how much you were changing as you opened up to them more. You grew more involved in conversations, and spat out jokes every chance you could get. The one who enjoyed the change most was Ray. You’d think it would be Emma, but something about your true colors was just so admirable to him, and the fact that you only showed this side of you to the three of them made it all the more special, just knowing that you trusted them enough to open up and be yourself.

Ray could listen to you ramble about anything for ages, giving his comments every now and then, or laughing at some joke you’d throw out mid-rant. He also enjoyed how the trio could just be sitting silently, not having anything to talk about, until you suddenly appear out of nowhere, yelling something random, and scaring the shit out of Emma and possibly Norman, making Ray laugh.

Overall you’re an amazing new addition to the trio, and all three of them adore you a lot. :)

Okay hi! I first want to apologize for how long this will be, but I just found your page and am sort of new to tumblr.

For one, your art is amazzingggg! Every fandom you're in is heavily blessed. It's especially awesome for myself as a tts geek, to see so many dedicated to creating content. As far as the unknighted ship goes, from what I can tell, and this may be totally wrong so please correct me if it is, you want more people to be in the ship? I 100% agree that the division in this fandom is honestly detrimental to its growth, however, I feel like it keeps the peace in a way.

I myself like new dream and am fine with the poly ship, but, i was speaking with a friend who doesn't ship unkighted and cassunzel at all. They were explaining to me how it seems like most of the unknighted shippers do prefer cassunzel, which is again fine. I'm not sure if that's a fact through and through but the sentiment is there. But it got me thinking about how that perception in itself could disuade newcomers who are more into the Eugene/Rapunzel relationship? As far as division goes, I mean.

Again it's no problem to have favorites, in fact it's actually great that this fandom has so many spaces to include people who have a particular liking to any one thing, but it's rare to see anyone here really neutral on pairings if that makes sense? I know those people exist, but even beyond ships, our favorite characters, platonic relationships, and much more are pushed usually, very individually.

Love Cass? Great there's a ton of blogs for that! Rapunzel? Eugene? Varian? So many blogs for them too with art, concepts, etc! But with this fandom being so tiny- and that other weird anon we shall not mention by name, I think as long as people aren't flat out rude to each other, maybe a little separation is alright. Not everyone mingles well together. Maybe it's for the better?

I hope this wasn't annoying to read oops- but I am interested to hear your thoughts, if you feel comfortable responding.

oh no absolutely and i really enjoy these kinds of discussions!! i 100% agree lol and i’ve never meant to make it seem like i don’t. the distance between the fandom is absolutely what keeps the peace and as much as i SAY i want people to branch out more i know if it actually happened it would probably just leave us with even more division and infighting LOL😭

the neutrality is VERY rare and it’s honestly the only reason i’m so passionate about it, because i’ve never fallen into any of those divisions and it makes it really hard to find likeminded people!!! it’s why i put so much effort into my characterizations and how i portray all the dynamics, it tends to cater to everyone because i’ve never been able to pick and choose favorites myself haha

i would love for more people to find enjoyment in uknighted dream especially, since the dynamic is so important to me, but i totally understand it’s just not everyones thing and thats cool too!! :) i’m a bit surprised about the idea that most of us prefer cassunzel though, i never thought about it that way especially since i’ve never had a preference myself. i do sometimes find myself drawing cassunzel more, but that’s less because i prefer them over new dream and moreso because i feel the need to be super upfront about it…💀 i’ve had a lot of new dream fans comment on my uknighted dream art who seem to COMPLETELY miss the point and/or just disregard cass entirely. when i try to be subtle abt it most people don’t acknowledge it so most of my art is just me like violently pointing to them like LOOK!! she’s in love with BOTH of them!!! THEY’RE KISSING!!!!

as someone who’s been super involved with the uknighted dream community i’ve never felt like any of us really have a “preference”, a lot of us are hardcore cassunzel fans but that’s a given cuz that’s usually what drives us to the polyam ship in the first place. i have seen a lot of people argue that like “its just an excuse to ship new dream and cassunzel at the same time” and like….Yeah???? thats kind of the point??? 😭 i really don’t understand how people make it out to be a BAD thing bc like. the point of fandom is just to do whatever and have fun. so what if we wanna ship two pairings at the same time. why NOT just shove them into a polycule

it’s not like cass and eugene don’t have chemistry either???? they obviously care about each other and they don’t get along solely for rapunzel!!! i can’t speak for all ukd fans obviously but i think in my experience most of us did just start off “shipping two things at the same time” but with all the substance involved they VERY quickly become a set. cass and eugene’s dynamic whether platonic or romantic is really fun to explore and they all bounce so well off of each other i think it’s perfect!! they all just mean so much to me ok. they’re all equals and at the end of the day that’s really what i try to portray most in my work :3

Imma be honest with you, before BATDR came out, you literally held this fandom together with bandaids and stick glue. 2019-2022 was basically the dry age of Bendy content

i Do enjoy being in a fandom, i've always looked up to the danny phantom phandom a lot cause the vibes there are just fantastic, there's a lot of things going on, people have many interactions with each other, so i wanted to try to introduce that to the batim fandom and i'd like to think that i sorta did

i know that it is a popular opinion to not engage with a large portion of the fandom but instead just grab a few friends and sit in a corner with them but like

engaging with a bigger portion of the fandom every now and then can be SO fun and give people an opportunity to meet other people and idk

fandoms are communities of people just united by liking A Thing so it can be challenging to make a space for many people to get along but i dont recall any super serious only fandom related dramas in batim?? weirdos are in every fandom and you just blast their asses into oblivion with a block button

and there have been cases when i felt kinda bad for blocking someone because that meant i'd exclude them from something i wanted to think of as a fandom-wide event for everyone who would obey it's rules but that's where this outlook on curating your experience into a smaller circle is very much the way to go lol

aha yea 2019-2022 everything fucking DIED here but i was having a blast drawing my comic and also a lot of people who were into the sides of batim i was into mainly (the human characters) stayed around more than everyone else and it was really chill, i've met a lot of people and made many friendships :)

as the fandom was getting smaller there was a noticable drop in the amount of notes batim related posts were getting which is a very big symptom of a fandom dying but i think at some point it sorta stabilized who stayed there after batdr was delayed and delayed

i reblog and tag more than an usual tumblr user (when im active cuz sometimes i can not reblog anything for months because im busy lol) and that didnt start without a reason, it sure is a habit now and i really enjoy doing it, letting people know what i think about their stuff and putting nice things on display for others to see

reblogs are not just crucial for singular artists but also for fandoms as a whole, thats how you keep that train rollin

though here is a sad thing that many many artists dont reblog a lot, or reblog to their sideblogs that arent followed by nearly as many people as their main blogs

and thats like understandable, im the weirdo who puts a whole mess of many posts on my main but i think thats also the most effective way to help other people get traction and i never see this mentioned when people complain that tumblr users dont reblog as much stuff as they like

its even kinda funny to me when people complain about their stuff not getting reblogged when they dont reblog others stuff themselves at all xD though there is a bit of cyanide in that thought heheh

on the other hand reblogging doesnt work on stuff that i could see from other people: the stuff i reblog i get from browsing the bendy and the ink machine tag sorted by new + sometimes when i bored i scroll through my dash and reblog some random things but i follow 2k people so i dont really see any individuals art specifically, just a collection of random posts that i am able to scroll through in a few minutes (and every minute theres a bunch of new posts posted/reblogged by those i follow)

and that can take a long time! if ive been busy for months then scrolling through a few months worth of stuff people around the world made for bendy is so bad even on a beefy computer that it just pushes tumblr to its limits and takes HOURS to reblog and tag for me, and then i might even hit the daily post limit and have to continue tomorrow

but i enjoy doing this, bendy is my fixation after all and i fucking love art and what people can create for this thing that i like i soooooo desire to see it all

and i try to reblog as much as possible, though i dont obviously reblog *everything* from the tag, sometimes i just give a like or i just dont like the thing cuz its not in my liking and thats it

but i did make it a thing that during ink demonth i reblog all entries for the event no matter what my opinion of them is just to give some of that Exposure TM because hey maybe some of my followers Will like it

i dont run a super duper popular blog but there is a bunch of yall there and i think me reblogging something in this fandom at least may give a litol boost to the notes on a post

and its always fun to see peoples reactions that dont expect me to reblog from them but then i do and they freak out a little, i think i love it on the same level as getting comments on my own art :) its super wholesome

What r things you like about the dsaf community, and things you don’t like about it? Just curious to hear some thoughts! :D

Oh boy, I have a lot to say abt this one. I'm just gonna preface this by saying, I have a very special place in my heart for dsaf. Idk where I would be today if I hasn't have found that trilogy. With that being said, I'll start with the good.

Tw: opinions 😱😱

For starters, its a very welcoming community. Because a good majority of the community is queer, it makes it a safe space. In my experience, it was the first time I felt open and comfortable being myself inside of a Fandom.

It's also a very talented community. Like holy hell, have you seen those amazing Henry fanarts with him in the void? They're fucking epic!

Finally, the DSaF community is pretty sweet to new artists. I remember when I was in the piggy Fandom, they were brutal man. I got bullied constantly for my art and was pretty close to quitting for a while. In DSaF though, I just simply received constructive criticism and people helping me rather than shaming me.

Now onto the not so great

First, the ships that shouldn't really be normalized. Steven x Peter is probably a big one. Peter had a wife, Steven was a horrible boss and sent Peter to the factory knowing what would happen to him, and that he had a family (we know from Peter and Jimbo that you can refuse to do that. In the slightly evil ending, Peter refuses to send Jimbo to the factory) and also they canonically hate eachother. Also the horrible power imbalance? Like, idc what your excuse is, shipping boss x employee is just wrong.

And yet, this is like the 2nd most popular ship in the Fandom. I'm not done with it either cuz the people who ship Steven and Peter lead into my next point.

Being toxic towards straight ships. I'm gonna preface this before anybody gets mad by saying, I am a trans and queer man, I can have an opinion on this.

So Peterline is not a very popular ship despite it being cannon. Caroline is Peter's wife, and you see her at the end of the perfect ending. I've been bullied before (mainly on tiktok) for shipping this. I've had someone just go off on me because I'm "taking away gay rep and that Peter is canonically a gay man." Like, tf?? Also, side note: he isn't. Dogman confirmed the characters sexualities and Peter is "probably straight." Not to mention he had a wife that he chose and married himself, not a manufactured one like with Steven. But back to my point. Peterline is overshadowed by all of the Steven x Peter shippers because it's EVERYWHERE. I don't even know why it's a ship in all honesty. But heaven forbid you don't ship it and ship Peter and his WIFE.

You thought that was the worst of it? Wrong. We go away from the side that's mainly queer/allies and go to the homophobic side. Yep. There are homophobic/transphobic DSaF fans despite a good majority of the main cast being queer. Luckily, they don't really show their faces anywhere near the queer fans, so we're all set. I have seen them comment on davesport posts before though complaining. Speaking of davesport:

Davesport has completely taken over the Fandom. I love davesport as much as the next person, but if you truly love something, you have to admit the flaws. First, the weird kinda fetishism of it? I won't name names **cough cough daystars cough cough**, but there are artists who draw this ship and intentionally make the characters look like teenage boys and not old zombie men. Plus, people kinda romanticizing / glorifying the fact that Dave stalked and had an unhealthy obsession with Jack. That isn't cute and romantic that "he loves him so much that he broke into Jack's house on multiple occasions and watched him sleep 🥺🥺🩷🩷☺️☺️☺️" (genuine comment I saw btw, minus the emojis cuz I wanna make sure people know it's satire what I'm saying). Plus, people are bullied for shipping anything other than Davesport. I can understand if it's a proship (I'll get into those fuckewads later), but someone shipping anything other than davesport will get you witchhunted in this community. I know I said I don't like boss x employee, but I don't hate someone if they ship something like Harry x Jack or something. There are people genuinely scared of showing that they ship that because of the hard-core davesport fans. Final note on this point, it's the only DSaF content being made. I want more Blackjack and og managers art pls I beg of you I want more art of the og managers. But instead, it's just davesport again. It gets to a point where I'm kinda tired of it.

Next point: people babying characters. Now, I won't name names **cough cough daystars again cough cough** but there are very popular artists who get away with this. The biggest ones I can think of are Peter, Roger, and Jack. Here's why I think this happens:

Jack: Because he's shown to have a soft side. It's mainly seen in DSaF 3 on the flipside with him gently talking to the other souls and telling them that it's gonna be ok and he'll help them find justice and peace. Also, he is somewhat civil to Dave at the start of a few routes so probably from the fucking davesport shippers again.

Roger: Because he's hinted at to have an anxiety disorder. Hey there! Person with a diagnosed anxiety disorder here. DON'T FUCKING BABY US! Like, just because you have an AD doesn't mean you need 24/7 protection and babying because "what if you get scared 🥺🥺🥺😔😔😔". People with ADs can do amazing things despite it. And Roger is no exception. In the evil ending, he goes off at Jack about everything he's done and doesn't break a sweat. He's probably the strongest out of the 3 phone guys because he's the first person (other than Peter) to stand up to Jack when he's doing something wrong.

Peter: Same as Jack, he's shown to have a soft side. Mainly when talking about how he remembers his wife and family, and invites Jack to live with him and Caroline despite (to his knowledge) he's only known Jack about a week. But like with Roger, he puts his foot down when needed. In the evil routes, Peter takes Jack back to his office and just let's him have it. He goes off about the fucked up shit Jack has done and even throws in some amazing lines like

"That's Mr.Cawthon to you, employee. We certainly aren't friends."

"Employee, let me tell you something. I am a VERY good boss."

"It takes the truth to fool me, or close to it. And you've played me for a goddamned fool."

But of course, with this community, that entire badass scene with Peter and Jack is overshadowed by him being "uwu smol bottom gay boy"

I mentioned them earlier, so here it goes: the proshippers. They're everywhere. Some of the biggest dsaf artists **cough cough fucking daystars again cough cough** are proshippers. It's mainly a problem on tiktok. I've seen people ship: Peter x Dave, Dave x Henry, Steven x Henry, Jack x Peter, Henry x Dee, Henry x Jack, Dee x Jack, Jack x Dee x Peter x Dave. It's honestly disgusting, and I really don't wanna talk abt it anymore.

Next, people drawing Henry skinny. This one pisses me off a lot. People draw Henry as a skinny little bottom boy and not the fat old man he is. There's a lot of people guilty of this. **cough you probably know who I'm abt to say cough cough**. Some people try at least. For example, I tried sticking with my roblox-like bodies and giving Henry a very big torso. Later on, I finally learned how to draw plus sized bodies, and so now that I can, I immediately implemented it. Some people just don't even try.

Finally, people mad at dogman for moving on from the series. I shit you not. I came across people complaining about this just last night. Here's the thing: DSaF has a lot of problematic stuff in it. Nobody can deny that. Dogman has apologized for it on many occasions and doesn't want that to represent his work now. He moved on to Dialtown, where he can now get paid for his hard work and pay his team. But because he isn't talking abt DSaF anymore, people refuse to even look at Dialtown. It's just kinda...childish in my opinion? It'd be a different story if you just simply didn't enjoy Dialtown. Like that's fine and understandable, the game isn't for everyone. But really? Just because the creator moved on from his problematic past and made something original, you want nothing to do with him. That's just stupid.

(Nsfw content) hey so feel free to completely ignore this ask, but I think u have good inputs I'd like to know Ur thoughts about this, if it's okay.

So this is about fanfic right. For context, I am a cis woman and I struggle with CSA trauma. Writing erotica has been very freeing to me these past few years. Now the thing is, I can't exactly point to the reason why, but specifically in fictional erotica, when I write men it's always men with female genitalia. Not that I can't read about guys and dicks in general, it's just not something I feel comfortable writing. Now, I feel a bit weird about tagging any of that as "trans characters" because it doesn't feel fair to lump what I write with actual representation (even though if trans men enjoy what I write they are more than welcome to ofc).

Basically I'm not trying to write actual trans men and represent their struggles, or even their bodies realistically (I also find it a bit ehhh that in fandom spaces "trans man" has come to be synonyms with = "has a vagina" but I digress).

So with that in mind, I have come full circle and I'm noticing I'm back at feeling guilt and shame about what I write... much like I used to feel when I started writing/reading erotica. I feel guilty of writing that type of thing because in a way I fear it may come off as fetishization. That's not what I'm trying to do though, I realize this is mostly a fictional kink that doesn't correlate with how I view actual trans people irl. But the guilt is still there.

I'd like to know your thoughts about this. Do you think this is hurtful for trans people? For me to not tag that content as "trans" specifically? That I write that content? Am I alienating trans people? Are there better ways to go about this? Sorry if this is a lot of questions. My brain really wants me to feel ashamed of my sexuality and sexual desires so sometimes it's hard to have a clear idea of what's going on, if I'm actually doing something harmful or if it's just my brain being mean to me.

Sorry for the long ask, and again feel free to completely ignore it.

I mean, fanfic isn't really representation to begin with if you ask me. So by writing it, you aren't representing anyone. Besides, the purpose of your story isn't to describe trans people's struggle, so I don't think you need to go out of your way to "properly portray" said struggle/issues.

If we were to deny people right to write about groups they aren't apart of, we'd lose any chance at exploring each other's experiences. Like, you have every right to write a trans character. It's not illegal or wrong. I also don't think you have some moral obligation to make sure your portrayal is perfect cuz 1. There isn't any perfect portrayal of any experience or group of people and 2. Writing isn't always about doing that anyways.

So long as you're not coming with ill intentions to write something that you actively DESIRE to hurt some group with (this is how propaganda works) then I think you're fine to write whatever you want. Especially when it comes to fanfic which is written for FUN. Enjoy yourself. It's fine.

As for the tagging. I don't read much fanfic anymore. But I think the general rule of thumb is to be sure triggers are tagged. Whether you tag ship names, trans, or other tags is fully up to you. As a trans man, I don't think I'd care either way? Just do what makes you comfortable. You aren't hurting anyone by writing fanfics. Especially not what you described above.

You might get people who misunderstand, but genuinely that's fine. It's important to learn how to accept that some people will take what you do in life the wrong way. You can explain yourself, but ultimately it's best to just move on. Talk it out with someone you trust, reassure yourself, and continue your life. You can't please everyone so just make sure you can make yourself happy. Ya know? If these writings make you happy, don't let some random person get you down. You're not hurting anyone, or actively trying to bring down the trans community. You, as one person, couldn't actually do that anyways. It's ok. Take a breath and keep writing.

Summary: you're ok. You're not hurting anyone by writing fanfiction.

STOP! YOU HAVE TUMBLR? 😭😭I love your stories so much, the amount of times I read ‘Promise’ is unbelievable. I love your writing style, it’s so beautiful. The words are creative yet they are so simple and flow so well with each other. And Y/N is always so funny, it’s never the perfect Y/N since we can see the flaws clearly within her and she understands them.

My favourite without a doubt is ‘Promise’. It’s so hard to find a character who joins the Military Police or is born a noble (plus the Eren is a bonus). Her relationship with both friends and family are important to her since in most stories it just focuses on romance. Also poor Levi. I never realised how funny of a best friend Jean would be, and I live for their friendship. I swear my sister is so bored and tired of my ranting about this story. When I read ‘Swear’ I could tell the difference but also the similarities, both were so fun to read. I’m excited to see what happens next with Swear if you continue to write it.

Endure…. That had me bawling. It was so heartbreaking yet sweet. She went through so much shit and managed to pull herself together even when the man she loved was destroying everything. And the fact she moved on was so sweet yet sad, she loved Eren but Armin and was so torned between them. And the cabin scene with the little waltz that she taught him a long time ago gave me tears. You know how to make me cry, I also cried in the last chapter of Promise when she dies and they meet again in another life. I swear most Y/Ns always live up to the end, the plot armour is so strong.

I recently started SITH and the Colt love ❤,but I’m also suffering from second lead syndrome cuz he is so sweet. But I am also curious what will happen to the Jeagerist Ackerman Y/N? I’ve never seen a type like that before and I’m so curious to know what happened next. I’m dying of my impatience to see her arc and story and I think I will most likely cry in it.

Sorry for the little rambling but you are my favourite author since your stories fit it so well and the characters are never ooc.

YESS I DO HAVE TUMBLR!!! I’m trying to be more active on here nowadays :) and thank you so much I’m so glad you like my writing!! I really try to balance being creative and having “poetic” writing with being easily understandable and not overly pretentious. I also don’t like reading perfect characters so i always try to write Y/N characters that have flaws and act at least SOMEWHAT realistically.

I think promise is one of the only stories where Y/N is an MP!! I’m sure there’s others but definitely not many hahaha. To me when it’s just romance it makes the plot and experience of reading the story almost boring?? It definitely makes writing it boring so I usually focus on platonic and familial relationships as well as romantic ones ofc. JEAN IN PROMISE IS SO FUNNY i actually love him so much in all of my stories but especially that one…he’s just so good as a best friend character honestly. And noooo not your sister LMAOO I get it though I always make my best friend (the inspiration behind Tullia) listen to all of my story ideas and she’s definitely so done with it by now. Honestly endure feels like a fever dream at this point I’m not sure why i just feel like a completely different person wrote it if that makes sense?? I’m not huge in the AOT fandom anymore so maybe that’s why 🤔 regardless endure always feels like home in a way because it’s my longest story and the one that most people have read so it’s just super important to me…kind of like a childhood room HAHAHA and yeah Y/N characters usually have massive plot armor but you’ll never catch me slipping like that 💪🏻

SitH was meant to be a Colt fic but at this point it’s a Y/N fic 😭 jkjkjk it’s still a Colt fic ofc but the romance is so not focused on we’re like 130k words in and they haven’t even kissed or anything — it’s more plot and character driven. I’m not sure how far into it you are so I don’t want to spoil or anything but SitH Y/N is probably my favorite Y/N I’ve written because she’s super unique and the story really leans heavily into some aspects of her character and trauma that a lot of fics don’t usually touch on. I definitely feel you about the second lead syndrome though I feel like it’s so easy to get with SitH because Friedrich is so bf material (idk if you’ve gotten to Hadrian yet but he also has very much second lead syndrome vibes although his situation is kind of different because he’s not exactly a second lead??? But he is??? But he isn’t??? I can’t explain it I’m sure you’ll know what I mean if you’ve gotten there already)

Unfortunately swear and hostis humani generis (the Jaegerist ackerman Y/N fic) were victims of the great m1ckeyb3rry cleanse and I don’t really anticipate finishing them 😭 I did have their endings planned out though so if you really want I can give you the sparknotes versions :) rest assured though both endings were very sad as is expected from me by now

I finished this (and a SEQUEL) months ago but couldn’t post it because i was working on the OFMD TFB AU and i wanted it to list as my 200th fic on ao3 lol. But now, I’m free to post whatever I want whenever I want! So here is a fic lol

Summary: Julie is nervous before a gig. The guys show her what they used to do when they would get nervous.

Julie shook out her hands, pacing back and forth in the empty space near the front of the studio. She could feel the guys’ eyes trailing after her but paid them no mind, trying to focus on controlling her breathing and slowing her heart.

“Is anyone else getting dizzy?” Reggie asked. Then, after a moment of silence where Julie assumed Alex and Luke gave him a look, he continued with a confused, “What?”

“Julie,” Alex called, his voice gentle. “Maybe you wanna sit down?”

Julie whirled to glare at him. “No, I don’t wanna sit down! How are you guys not nervous, right now?”

Luke scoffed. “Of course we’re nervous.”

Julie rolled her eyes, crossing her arms defensively in front of her chest. “Yeah, I’m really feeling the frantic energy, right now.”

Reggie raised his hand. “I’m nervous!”

Alex shifted forward on the couch, sitting on the very edge of it. “Honestly, I’m still terrified before every gig, no matter how many times we’ve gotten up on that stage.”

Luke walked toward her, his expression softening. Julie wished he was alive, that he wasn’t just air, so she could reach out and soak in the comfort of his touch.

“Everyone gets nervous before a gig, Julie,” he said, his voice low. “That part never goes away. But you learn how to deal with it, how to use it, even.” He smiled at her. “You’ll get there in no time.”

“Too bad we can’t touch you,” Reggie called out from where he’d sprawled himself on a chair. “We could show you how we always got Alex to relax, when he used to get like this.”

Julie furrowed her brow, dropping her defensive pose. “What?”

Alex gave an awkward laugh. “Yeah, I don’t think Julie needs to hear about that.”

A sly grin made its way onto Luke’s lips, and he winked at her before turning around to face Reggie and Alex. “Come on, man,” he said. “You said you were terrified, maybe it’ll help you out!”

Alex’s eyes went wide and Julie watched as his entire body went tense, like he was preparing to run. Reggie perked up with interest, sitting up and swinging his legs off the arm of the chair to settle on the ground.

“I was just trying to make Julie feel better!” Alex insisted, but the protest sounded weak even to Julie’s ears. “I feel fine, I promise!”

Reggie leaned forward. “Are you sure? Maybe if we show her, she can ask for Flynn’s help next time.”

“Yeah, come on, Alex,” Luke said, his voice light and teasing. “Don’t you wanna help Julie?”

Alex whined. “Why does it have to be me?”

Luke shrugged. “Cuz you’re an easy target.”

Julie flinched back as Luke shot towards Alex, who yelped and practically flew off the couch. Reggie laughed and jumped up from his chair, but was quickly barrelled over by the chase. Julie took a step back as the guys started wrestling on the ground. They may not be able to touch, but it was still weird when she passed through them, for all parties.

“Come on, Alex!” Luke said, laughing. “We all know you don’t actually care.”

Reggie laughed, too, shooting Julie a glance. “Well, not all of us.”

“Be quiet,” Alex grunted out, trying to fight the two of them off. “Don’t you dare—Ah!!”

Julie buried a grin as she watched Luke tackle Alex to the ground, draping his torso across Alex’s chest while he wrestled for Alex’s hands. Reggie tossed himself over Alex’s thighs, doing his best to help with… whatever this was.

“Reggie!” Luke called. “Get him!”

“Reggie, wait!”

Alex burst out in laughter, kicking and scrabbling his feet against the floor. Julie frowned, stepping closer to try and see what was going on between the tangle of writhing bodies and flying limbs. Julie couldn’t help but giggle herself when she saw what was making Alex shriek and sputter.

Reggie’s fingers were dancing across Alex’s sides and stomach, wiggling and kneading and scratching in ways that made Julie’s own tickle spots tingle in sympathy. It was clear that this was something that used to happen often, with the way Reggie never hesitated or paused. He seemed to know instinctively just how to send Alex cackling, and it was clearly working.

Luke’s yelp cut through Alex’s laughter, and even Reggie paused at the sound. Julie laughed a little louder when she saw Alex’s arms wrapped tightly around Luke, digging into his ribs while Luke futilely tried to scramble off of Alex to save himself.

Reggie gasped. “Are we having a tickle fight, now?”

Julie laughed again. “Are all of you this ticklish?”

Reggie grinned up at her, even as his fingers dove in towards Luke’s knees. “Pretty much. I’m the worst, though.”

Luke and Alex paused in their fighting, Luke shaking Reggie’s fingers off his legs.

“That’s right,” Alex said.

Another slow, sly grin spread over Luke’s face, and even Julie felt the butterflies in her stomach at the expression. She didn’t know what she’d do if it was turned on her.

“You are the most ticklish,” Luke muttered. “Aren’t you?”

Reggie let out a laugh. “Yeah, that’s what I just said.” Then his face dropped when he realized they were slowly advancing on him. “Wait, guys? Guys?!”

He scrambled backwards, and Julie jumped out of the way again, laughing all the while. Alex and Luke were laughing too, lunging after Reggie, who seemed to be fighting off a smile as he tried to escape. He wasn’t very successful, the two of them snatching Reggie by the ankles and reeling him in, their fingers attacking every spot they could reach. Julie wrapped her own arms around her stomach, unsure if she was glad or disappointed that they couldn’t do the same to her. Their wiggling fingers looked absolutely wicked.

“Jules?”

Julie jumped and the boys froze, all of them glancing over at the door. It was pulled open just enough for Flynn’s head to be peering through the gap. She raised an eyebrow at Julie.

“Oh! I, uh— it’s just, the guys.” She gestured to what was probably empty air for Flynn. “Goofing off.”

Flynn grinned, rolling her eyes. “Well, get ready! It’s time!”

As Flynn ducked back out of the studio, Luke, Alex, and Reggie scrambled to their feet, fumbling for their instruments. Julie shook her nerves out one last time, grinning as the guys walked up to her.

“You know what?” She said. “I do feel better”

Luke scoffed and rolled his eyes, Reggie laughed, and Alex rubbed at the back of his neck with a nervous chuckle.

“Maybe we’ll have to find a way to tip Flynn off, next time,” Luke said. “After all, we can’t have our frontrunner succumbing to stage fright.”

Julie thinks of the boys’ devious fingers, their teasing smiles, their playful taunts. She thinks of them directed at her, all while Flynn manipulated her as easily as she manipulated her mixer. Julie let out a nervous chuckle.

“No, I’m good.”

Luke grinned at her, that grin that never failed to make her tummy swoop and her face heat up, but Julie didn’t get a chance to respond before the loft doors were being pulled open again. Julie faced front, taking a deep breath.

Showtime.

P3 Gekkoukan!Strega AU: Preventing One's Doom (Part 1 of 2)

Taking place in 2005 in my timeline! (So Takaya is 15, Jin's 13 and Chidori's 11 in this one, more-or-less)

I've been on and off writing this one regarding how Jin would awaken to Moros in my AU :V tho for this one it's gonna be a 'before' sequence, while part 2 (which I haven't written yet) will be an 'after' event, cuz I kindaaaa don't really have a thorough idea how things would turn out, unlike how I had things planned with Takaya's awakening arc. But at the same time?? I think this would explain itself rather well. I'm just glad I'm getting some of this done, honestly. After that I'll get around to working on Chidori's, which would be more thorough than this one for sure.

Fandom: Persona 3 | Characters: Jin, Chidori, Takaya, Ikutsuki | Word Count: 3,658 | Relationships: Jin-Chidori (brother-sister), Jin-Takaya (brothers; brief)

It's late at night, and Ikutsuki is trying to get home as soon as possible as he drives down the road to his house. It's dark out, and as much as he wants to race home and get some sleep, he'd rather be careful at this time of night. He always gets home before the Dark Hour would arise, otherwise he would be stuck in the middle of the road and in potential danger, leaving his children at home worried sick. That's the last thing he would want to be in, situation-wise. With the children at home safe from any potential danger themselves, at least he knows they'll be just fine in case anything happens during that time. Regardless, he always tries whatever possible to get home at a reasonable time after pulling overtime like this.

He finally makes it to his parking garage, turning off the car and getting out to head inside. He's tired, and yet he wastes no time walking to the door and unlocking it before getting inside the house. He hopes to finally relax, get himself some shut eye, but first— check on his sons and daughter to see how they're doing. Of course, he may not want to disturb them if they're already in bed. As they should be.

Today happens to be one of those days that they aren't, however. By the time he comes into the house and ruffles his coat, he can see the kitchen lights are on. Curious, he slowly walks over to see who's occupying the space, hearing two different voices coming from the area.

“C'mon Jin, hurry up already…!” A teenager with an almost-deep voice rushes the younger one as they're trying to get something in the kitchen. His hair is only shoulder-length and yet very messy, like he hasn’t brushed it in days.

“I'm trying, I'm trying!” The younger teen exclaims with a more pitchy voice, showing to be in the midst of puberty as is. His hair displays a side fringe type of style, with somewhat unkempt bangs that are brow-skimming above his eyes. “Ugh, dammit I can't reach it.”

“That's because you're too short. Here, just move out of the way!” He retorts with a tease, angering the younger brother.

“No, you!”

“Just move it already!”

“Stop it!”

The two bicker with hushed voices like if trying not to disturb anyone nearby, unaware that their father came home already. Ikutsuki then manages to peek around the corner to see the commotion going on. He then spots his two sons, one trying to push and climb up on the other, reaching high up with a chair as their stool to get whatever they're looking for in the cabinets. While he gasps at the potential danger they're putting themselves in, he also can't help but be incredibly upset just knowing how late it is. They should be tucked in bed while getting their sleep for school tomorrow. But instead, they're causing mischief as if their father would have no idea.

Ikutsuki however decided to break his silence. “And just what you think you two are doing!?”

The sudden question spooked the two kids as the one on top almost lost his balance. If they were anymore careless he would've landed on the kitchen floor by now. Jin just cursed under his breath. “Shit, you scared us…!”

“Oh, hey pops…!” Takaya awkwardly greeted their father with a forced smile. It quickly fades away, however, given Ikutsuki doesn't look so pleased in return. “I swear, this is not what it looks like.”

The Chairman then slowly crosses his arms in doubt, with a raised brow and a scowl. “Oh sure it isn't. Then what exactly does it look like? Hm? You know it's way past your bedtime.”

While the boys try to explain themselves, the father then taps his foot hoping this better be good. Just what were they up to, exactly? Looking for snacks? In the medicine cabinet? Surely they're smarter than that.

“Look, you see father—!” Takaya starts before being cut off by Ikutsuki at the same time.

“Now I don't want any excuses!” The man shook his head before snapping his fingers and pointing towards the staircase. He's really tired right now, and doesn't want to deal with this at the moment. “C'mon, get down from there! We'll discuss this in the morning.”

“But pops—!”

“And no ‘buts’ about it.”

It's back and forth between Takaya and Ikutsuki as it can turn into an argument. Before things can heat up within the conversation, or until they leave the kitchen, Jin comes in to break off that communication to get their real reason in.

“But Chidori’s sick!”

“... Sick?” Ikutsuki surely didn't expect to hear that.

It's hard to tell whether or not he should believe him, given the first thing he sees coming home is them shuffling through the cabinets in search of something. But, he's all ears…

Jin nods, giving his honesty. “She hasn't been feeling too well lately, so we were trying to find some medicine for her. You know the brand of the one we used?”

“I uh…” Ikutsuki ponders on that for a moment. “I think it was something like 'Pine Eve'… but I don't think we have any more. But: There should be some winter radishes in the fridge! We can use that to make our own cold medicine.”

He smiles and therefore opens the fridge to look for it. “Surely I made it for you kids before! Just that with a bit of honey and… oh no...”

Unfortunately he can't find them anywhere, as they were most likely already used up for their meals not too long ago. That or it got spoiled, and therefore thrown out.

He closes the fridge door in disappointment and sighs. He only glances down at his watch to check the time. It's almost a quarter before midnight, which leaves him very little chance to go anywhere far to pick up some meds for his daughter. “Well, shucks. Why didn't you call me about this on my way home? How long did you know about this?”

“Just a couple hours ago, and I tried calling you then!” Jin answered through a sigh as if annoyed. “You just never picked up.”

Their father then checks his flip phone, seeing a short list of missed calls from his son as explained. Even a voicemail. He didn’t recall it going off at all, which is unfortunate. He sighs even louder. “Oh dear. H-How bad is it? Surely if we wait til morning she may get better.”

Jin didn't answer right away, like he's afraid to. He crossed his arms with a sign of concern. “Her temperature was forty degrees celsius last I checked. It's… kind of bad, the first time I checked it was only a little less. I just don't know what to do…”

Ikutsuki takes a sharp breath before making a small sigh in distress. He assumes the worst, as he wouldn't want to risk any of his children if they have a fever that high. The first thing he thought of is taking her to the emergency— but at that point the Dark Hour will emerge, and there'd be no one to help them by then. His next best move would be the most convenient option possible, as he then adjusts his jacket that he hasn't bothered taking off yet. Shortly afterwards he then glances at the clock. “My apologies children, but right now I need to head to the market while I still can. If we don't get anything for her now I'm not sure how much she'll manage during the… y-you know. Uh, anything else we need to get while I'm there?”

He shows this sign of weariness the others are familiar with, or what the children like to call it, 'papa-panic' mode. Of course his reactions are definitely reasonable when it comes to having a sick child in bed that needs to get better, and soon! He doesn't want to risk waiting it out if it means Chidori could be getting worse. He was about to grab his keys he left on the counter when one of his sons called out to his question.

“Oh oh, can I come with you?” Takaya asks eagerly while waving his hand up for attention, like if they are going on a trip together. Jin gives an unamusing reaction to it.

“Takaya, this is serious! I'm not going out to dilly-dally while the Dark Hour is just around the corner.” While Ikutsuki gives his share of an unamusing expression at his careless son, he can’t help but see the excitement in Takaya as he pleads to tag along. Sometimes, he just has a hard time saying no, especially now. “You can come along— but as long as we don't waste any time.”

“Yes!” Regardless of Ikutsuki’s warning, the young Takaya cheered anyway and went upstairs to grab an article of clothing or two to wear. Meanwhile Jin goes to pout since obviously that means he is left alone with his sick sister, while he believes he is better fit to go with their father and make sure they get everything they need in a relative time. He has nothing against staying at home, of course, he just knows how Takaya can be when it comes to wasting time doing duties when necessary. They're on a time-sensitive mission now.

Even the father sees the frustration on Jin’s face, which he finds rather amusing. “Don’t worry Jin. We’ll be back in a moment before you know it. Meanwhile you can keep me up to date on how Chidori is doing…”

Meanwhile Ikutsuki waits for Takaya to come back downstairs and fix up his jacket while heading out the door, turning around slightly to ask his eldest son with a quiet tone. “Do you have your evoker on you, just in case?”

“Well yeah, of course.” As relative the question can be, Takaya just rolls his eyes before smirking and following his lead out the door.

They exchange a few more words between them before the door is entirely shut, the father locking the door before getting to the car. Jin happens to be standing next to the unoccupied furniture before he walks over and sits down. He rubs his eyes and then his head in frustration, still feeling a bit bitter about earlier. It’s quiet in the room, as to be expected. The clock on the wall quietly ticks at every second that passes. The outside world through the windows is still pitch black, the white crescent moon shining modestly in the starry sky. Jin knows they’ll be back soon. From what he can tell they’re just heading down to the gas station that’s a ten minute walk from where they live.

Even knowing that, they’re rather short on time, making their short journey a last-minute mission. Knowing that on top of Takaya’s carefree nature and making things take longer than it needs to be, that puts another layer of nervousness on Jin. “Dammit Takaya. Why did you feel the need to tag along…?”

“Papa…?”

Jin heard a familiar voice and therefore stood up from the couch to look up at the staircase behind him. The young girl took a few mere steps down to see if their father was here, wanting to personally welcome him home knowing how late it is. She must’ve heard him from her bedroom when he got home, but unfortunately she just missed him by a hair, and she hasn’t gotten much sleep lately. Between her words the eleven-year-old makes a cough to her fist, which comes up short yet rough through her throat. Her cheeks are flushed red, and she has been feeling and odd sort of chills lately. Jin only hesitantly takes a step back just to make sure she doesn’t cough his way.

“Chidori!” Jin makes a hushed voice, despite having no reason to do so other than mere politeness. “What are you doing out of bed? You should be resting!”

The girl makes another cough. “But I heard papa. Where is he? Did he come home yet?”

It only took him a moment to notice why she’s been seeking anyone as of now. She’s probably having a hard time being alone while Ikutsuki is away. If he were to be annoyed by this he would wonder why she can’t stay where she’s at and be fine without their dad around. However, being her brother for about five years now; he can’t honestly blame her. She can feel vulnerable when feeling under the weather like this, and this is where he usually steps in.

“They’re out to get some medicine for ya. Here— just lie down.” He pats on the arm of the couch for her to sit in so she can rest while having Jin nearby. She does so without question, as she drags a rather small blanket behind her and uses that to cover herself up. While she is perfectly fine with it, Jin however knows she’ll need more than that if she wants to stay warm. He goes to get a heavy blanket that was in the closet nearby and brings it over to her, throwing it on top of her in one swoop.

Chidori only grumbles under the blanket in annoyance. “Ugh! Jin— why are you giving me this?”

He continues to tuck her in with the blanket regardless, making sure the thick material is nice and tugged from one side to another. He pulls the top part of the blanket down just enough for her head to poke out of, being able to see her surroundings rather than being swamped from the material head-to-toe. As much as Jin despises being near someone who’s sick (and therefore contagious), he still hovers over her, just inches above her face while pushing and folding the edges of the blanket around the sister, like making her into a cocoon. Even after being close to done, Chidori already started showing signs of discomfort by wiggling underneath the thick cloth.

“But Jiiiin. It’s too hot in here!”

“Good.” He exclaims under his breath, not making much eye contact with her as he finishes folding the edges in. “That’s the point. If you want to break your fever you'll have to keep yourself wrapped up and warm. Otherwise you’re just going to get the shivers nonstop.”

He straightens back up just to see if he tucked her in right, seeing she’s comfortable and wrapped up as much as possible. Now hopefully she doesn’t move from that spot…

He goes to the kitchen to grab a glass of water along with a damp cloth for her before making his way back to where she is in the living room. He puts the glass next to her where she’s able to reach it, placing the cloth on her forehead in hopes that’ll do. He paces around slowly, seeing if that is all he could do for the time being. He would rather make himself at least somewhat useful rather than watching his sister suffer and move around the house with aches and pains. He makes a quick trip back to her just to check her forehead with his wrist, finding that to be a more accurate way to feel her temperature.

“Hmm… you’re not feeling too much better either. Just sit tight and they should be back soon.”

Chidori certainly doesn’t have the energy to argue. She glances up at the clock to see the time while wondering when they’ll be back. She surely didn’t realize how late it was… how long she’s been up as she was trying to go to sleep. But this fever has been bothering her for what it feels like so long, yet it only started a couple hours ago. She hates feeling sick, although it’s a good excuse to stay home and draw in her bed when she doesn’t need to go to school. Jin takes the initiative to sit on the edge of the couch close to her feet, glancing over at her before staring down at the floor and tapping his foot on the carpet rug. It was then eleven forty-five when their father left to go to the market. Eleven fifty. Now eleven fifty-five. Just the two kids sitting down quietly and patiently, playing the waiting game of how long they’re going to take to get back home. Maybe Ikutsuki needed to get some gas too while they’re there, or maybe Takaya is trying to pick out a snack at one of the food aisles in the corner market. Whatever the reason, they should be on their way back soon. They’re usually good at getting home and staying home before midnight strikes, but this might be an exceptional case tonight— and that is what makes this so suspenseful and worrisome for them.

Even Chidori is starting to get worried, with her feet shuffling beneath the tucked in blanket. “They’ll be home soon, right?”

Jin doesn’t answer her right away, but he shows his acknowledgement towards her question. “Yeah. They should be…”

The clock continues ticking, and the two would glance up every once in a while with an uneasy feeling of their own. They try not to think too hard on this— as in the ‘what if’ scenarios. It was only a matter of time before Jin stood back up from the couch and made another pace around the carpet, looking up at the clock again. “Ugh, what’s holding them up?”

“Hmm…” Chidori hums in thought while furrowing her eyebrows over the idea. “I hope they’re alright.”

She turns her head towards him, while trying not to sound very self deprecating through her words on the matter. “Do you think it may not be worth it? I don’t want them to go through all the trouble just for me.”

“Hey now, don’t say it like that.” He goes and kneels on one leg to make eye-level contact with the sister, making sure she looks right back at him. “They’ll be just fine, so don’t you worry about it. None of this is on you. You know that.”

“Right… I know,” She figures as much. She slumps farther into the couch to get herself more comfortable, though it may be a matter of time before she would have to go back upstairs into her own room. However, she doesn’t want to move until they both know they get home in time. Jin, with having a similar idea in mind, kneels back up from the floor and checks the clock on the wall again. Eleven fifty-seven. He makes a quick look out of the window in case he would be able to spot their car, however there’s still no sign of them.

He then sighs in distress, scratching the back of his head. “Well shit, now I don’t know. I’ll give him or Takaya a call before the Dark Hour starts, just to see if they’re okay.”

The girl nods in agreement, seeing this as a decent idea. Before he makes the chance when pulling out his flip phone, Chidori goes to ask. “Brother did bring his evoker with him, did he? I hope he came prepared.”

Jin then glances up, recalling the same question that their father asked Takaya before they left the house. “Yeah, he said he has it on him. And you know how Shuji wouldn’t let him keep it in his room anyway, so usually it’s out on the—!”

He takes a look at the table in the middle of the room where he would usually see the evoker, realizing that it’s actually still laying right there; out in the open. “Shit!”

Chidori only manages to pull herself up higher on the couch to see what he’s looking at, noticing the same evoker on the table. “But wait, isn’t that his?”

Eleven fifty-eight. Without another question to spare, the thirteen-year-old went to grab the evoker right away, seeing how careless Takaya can be with his belongings. Especially something so vital. He grips onto it tightly, looking around the room before heading towards the door to open it. Chidori then quickly moves into a sitting position to call out to Jin on what he’s about to do. “Jin, wait! Where do you think you’re going!?”

“Outside, obviously!” Jin quickly unlocks the door and opens it to look outside. He still doesn’t see them or their car at all, which makes it all the more reason to go after them if they’re going to be stuck in the middle of the road. There’s only less than a minute left now, and he can’t say for sure if he should go out there and look for them or wait until he sees them coming back. He can’t think clearly anymore, and he isn’t about to stay at home and do nothing about it. He quickly turns towards the sister. “I’ll be back soon! Just stay inside until any of us comes back!”

“No, Jin!”

By the time she forcefully got up from the couch and undoing the blanket upon herself, he was already out the door, closing it behind him. She runs towards the door, only stopping to cover her brutal cough. Now she’s scared, and alone. Not for herself, but for her brothers and father who may get stranded out there at the worst hour. He should’ve called him first. He should’ve checked up on them to see where they’re at before running off like that! She starts breathing heavily, starting to feel an ominous shiver throughout her body. She gasps, and her stomach feels sick to the core.

“J-Jin!” She coughs again, along with another cough after, taking one step at a time before kneeling down onto the floor. She can’t manage to move much afterwards, mainly out of fear rather than her sickness. Her voice then cracked. “Jin! Wait! Come back! Please!!”

When I started shipping them: i remember reading the book the first time and thinking ‘wow they are just like my ocs. theyre dating behind the scenes haha’ and then forgetting about them. And I get back into the book and find a few other people who are Cath n Korn fans, I get really into Kathcorn Kontent, I draw them more and now they're my favorites <3 My thoughts: they’ve got one of my favorite themes, where the relationship isn’t beneficial to their main goals at all really. They both want to rise the ranks and being In Love with your right hand man isn’t really gonna help with that. Korn’s like one of those edgy guys who says he doesn’t want to get attached to people because it’s Just a Distraction from the Real Goal. And Cathcart’s one of those annoying guys who says he doesn’t want to get attached to people because it’s Just a Distraction from the Real Goal. And then both of them would try to justify it in their own silly ways and eventually have come to terms with it. And its also funny cuz they’re both just The Worst. What makes me happy about them: they are both so lame and evil and sucks that everything they do will be entertaining to me What makes me sad about them: I dont think they can even exist in a way that isn’t destructive to each other and everyone else around them. Not really sad since I focus more on the silly aspect but it could be. How I feel about this character: genderswap of cath that i got really attached to for no reason. Cathcart is interesting as a hypothetical female character since he’s trying to be this stereotypical toughguy all the time but he’s also so dumb and evil and awful. girlcart, i wuv her. she’s so important. She’s just woman cathcart but there’s the added interest of how she ended up as a squadron commander as a woman in the 40s, her relation with masculinity/femininity, whether she becomes more sympathetic when her problems are not all self imposed.. and we need more loser evil women everywhere Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: could it ever be anyone but girlkorn My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: to be honest she wouldnt have many friends but i think her interactions with milo would be funny. i like what we made up about Girl Milo being very ‘this is my 10 step beauty routine you should do it too. buy M&M skincare’ and cathcart being like ‘eww... makeup, gross” but also wanting to impress milo because milo is Successful My unpopular opinion about this character: She deserves everything ever shes so special. girlcart hiii. she sucks and she’s lame One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: there’s no canon bc we just make it all up. but i think her established storyline is growing up and not really belonging anywhere that a Lady(TM) would typically in the 20s-30s, always being second best in the rich east coast elite world and being desperate for some recognition. I think she deserved a friend who wasn’t caught up in the whole status thing Favorite friendship for this character: does milo count? danby? anyone? Korn’s her only friend and cathcart can’t stand her. I’ll be her favorite friend My crossover ship: what would she even cross over into?? she’d need a kornguy that’s all i know.

Saph (OC)

How I feel about this character: Spy character for my main story. She's been around for longer than any character i’ve ever liked ever. I made her in middle school and she was a dragon named Sapphire (hence the Saph) and she’s stayed with me through countless story changes. I dont think because of anythign particularly special about the character but she was my first OC and typical toughgirl undefeatable no-weaknesses character made by a 12-year-old. and i think she retains that in sprit but in practice she’s a total mess. I <3 U saph Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Riya, another oc that i made to be saph’s sidekick also in middle school who i recently decided should #love her. I can’t really see Saph in any romantic situations so they’re either in an awkward purely physical relationship that’s really tragic for Riya or its an equally fail unrequited love situation. Riya’s not very outgoing so she’s kind of stuck with Saph and Saph doesn’t tend to get attached to anyone My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Riya again if you count the weird sexual-platonic thing they’d have going on. but she’s also got her spy team of basically a bunch of frat boys and they like to be Dudes together. I don’t like them tho and a lot of them are basically expendable in the story. rip My unpopular opinion about this character: she could fight 1000 demons and 1000 skeletons & not get scared One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: since her spy team is out trying to kill a politician (other side of the story) i think it would be funny to write the alternate ending where they team up cartoon-style against a Greater Evil. i think the personalities would mesh well (awfully). I think a lot of her problems couldve been avoided too if the spy team had ditched their stupid orders and just gone on the run (which she and riya do in the end anyways) Favorite friendship for this character: i feel like she’s the sort to always Know A Guy wherever they go. but i dont really have anyone specific yet aside from the main characters and their counterparts. So for now im answering Riya for a third time. My crossover ship: i have nothing to cross over except catch 22. im gonna say wintergreen

I'm really not sure why anyone's surprised Im/odna wasn't The BeauJes Apology(TM) people were hoping for. Anything remotely resembling an apology would be an admission of the fuck-up and the cast has proven they're incapable of doing that. And Marisha is incapable of acting like an adult about queer characters.

Even if it does take a turn for the romantic, to harken back to another anon you got, there's no reason to trust them with it. Even a couple years after the fact, the BeauJes fiasco has only proven that they're all-too happy to throw a character-dynamic away the moment it's inconvenient to some unrelated 3rd party (whether they're at the table or not), no matter how good or fun it is.

and really, ships like im/odna or beaujes would do just fine in any fandom where the creators don't show such disdain for people who don't worship the canon, and said disdain gets carried into the fandom. Where you have an entire subset who have no qualms about going into the tags of a ship they don't like just to bully people. I've moved onto other fandoms that basic bit of fandom-etiquette is so much less common in so many other communities. They say "don't bully people" and their sycophants take it as "don't bully us :)))" (something something don't forget to love each other repeatedly gets turned into a blunt weapon to shut down criticism) cuz they've always actively mocked anyone who criticizes them, or doesn't uncritically eat up whatever story-beat they add, no matter how lazy it is. No wonder fanfic writers are made into a joke whenever they're mentioned: fanfic can and sometimes does challenge the canon of a given story.

“Marisha is incapable of acting like an adult about queer characters.” This very succinctly sums it up.

Though I will say, early on (from the confession and forward, pre-hiatus), she did a good job. There were tons of fans that identified with the way she was playing Beau in that moment; how scary it is to admit you have feelings for a (presumed straight) friend, having to keep that to yourself, the little bit of yearning mixed with anguish that comes with it, and how you wanna distance yourself but then if you do, your friend is gonna be really sad. (Like in ep88)

I genuinely think that she did actually play those aspects of it very well.

And I guess that’s also part of the disappointment over why Beaujester fell away and we got stuck with BY. Around the time of the confession, Beau had been growing as a person. She was less juvenile, more articulate, and in a sense, more genuine than she used to be. Of course she still had her goofy moments but it felt like she was maturing. Then post-hiatus reared it ugly head and she was back to acting like a horny teenager. It was like everybody reverted back to their original selves, devoid of growth. The shallowness was back, the one-liners were back, the “That’s hot.” “You’re so hot.” “Let’s make-out.” shit was back. That was all she had to contribute. It was ridiculous, bland, and try-hard.

Where the fuck did all the maturity go?

Pre-hiatus Beau and post-hiatus Beau really do feel like two different people.

I like that you said ‘worship the canon’. And, you’re right. I also think ships like Beaujester and Im/odna would be allowed to thrive in a fandom that didn’t worship canon. Problem is, I personally don’t know of any fandom that didn’t/doesn’t worship canon. Maybe Ag/ent Carter would be the only exception. But I think that’s only because it didn’t exist long enough for the fandom to devolve into a toxic space. The show was cancelled a few episodes into its second season lol

Other than that, every other fandom experience I’ve had (both on here and on twitter) has been pretty fucking horrendous. And it is mostly because of canon worship and just general shipper entitlement. (Mainly m/f shipper entitlement.)

I won’t go into that here though. I’ve already started writing up something about this and it’s gonna be very long. It needs to be its own post.

Men who were missed, but if this is done again, here’s my flippant jokes:

Estinien: Growly voice. May have fucked Aymeric in the past cuz they were friends beforehand. People say he’s notoriously bad with money, but it’s also a bit of a kindness thing, at least one time (He likes to help those in need knowing he’s being scammed). Once got possessed by a dragon. We saved him. Fandom is generally close to Aymeric’s due to their friendship, Haurchefant’s due to both being Ishgardian Knights, and now the Scions’ fandoms since he joined them, but that last one isn’t as close except for the Twins’ and G’raha’s fandoms. (And more specifically Alphie’s the most, other two somewhat tangentially due to a few scenes and a high school au)

Zenos: You cannot convince me he isn’t a sex-repulsed aroace, but I am *very much* in the minority here. He likes battle. Only battle. And even then not all the time, only the rarest of times where someone can challenge him. So far, that’s only been the WoL. Lets us ride him in the final battle of base Endwalker. Also turned into a dragon. Cannot die. Fandom is generally close to Emet-Selch’s, but also I know many who have it overlap with various heroic NPCs’ due to the same devotion (or “Devotion”) to the WoL.

Thancred: This is Thancred. May or may not be in a thing with Urianger post-Shadowbringers. Started off as a pretty boy flirt, but as of now is an adult spy who could actually get some if he wanted but is too busy worrying about his daughter in a parallel universe. Is very well-liked in fandom, with a decent amount shipping their WoL with him. Generally not very controversial even if everyone was sick of his shit during Shadowbringers, but he gets over it.

Alphinaud: Is 16. We do not touch this.

Raubahn: Leader of Ala Mhigo, former general of Ul’Dah. Big and burly. Clearly a bear. Pretty well-liked, but I don’t know many people who would choose him above others in the game.

Hien: King of “China” that is really Japan cuz it has samurai and ninja. There’s also another Japan that’s more Meiji Japan but that one we don’t learn as much about. Is literally Cyan’s (well, Kaien’s) son. Is... decently popular, but also has people who hate him either jokingly or for serious because of certain things he’s said and done. (I say both, I know people in both camps of hatedom.)

Midgardsormr: Is a space dragon from the planet dragon. They can reproduce both sexually and asexually. It is unknown which version his 7 kids are (He escaped Planet Dragon with their eggs). Is the WoL’s best friend and I will hear no arguments.

Vrtra: One of Midgardsormr’s sons. He’s a baby boy and it’s his birthday. Is a valuable ally to the main characters through Endwalker and is currently part of a party investigating the Void cuz he has a giant siscon (platonic, maybe? But not sure... I’m not gonna get into dragon biology here) and she disappeared into the Void 3k years ago. Has two dolls (one a kid, one an adult) he can control to wander around in a humanoid form. But LBR, he’s trying to seduce Estinien too cuz the big one only came out after Estinien started working for him. Generally well-liked by the fandom.

Vauthry: Is the hottest character in XIV. Okay, no, but yes. I don’t wanna talk about it too much, but he is a beautiful butterfly.

Elidibus/Themis: Is... borderline. While the word “youth” is used for him twice in english, in every other language, it’s more a term meaning “Young man” (which Youth can also mean, though more in the “College age barely legal” kind of way). May or may not have a boyfriend. Ends up becoming a god who gets sliced in 14 but only after his consciousness was ejected. Has memory problems in the present.

Erichthonios: Elidibus’s maybe boyfriend. Son of one of Elidibus’s coworkers, and works in Hell, which is just a containment unit for dangerous monsters made up by these people.

Lahabrea: Erichthonios’s dad and Themis’s coworker. Also Emet-Selch’s coworker. Is grumpy and has fucked at least once and had Ancient Secret Super Sex once. We’ve seen the latter on-screen. Was once a reasonable-if-grumpy guy, but the way we meet him (Cuz time travel) is a man who’s lost most of his personality into becoming a giggling evil ghost wizard from hell.

Fandaniel: Will kill you, the world, and everything and then himself. Because he hates living. I don’t think he fucks anymore, but who knows, maybe he did when he was Amon. Even if he regretted it.

Hermes: The Past life of Fandaniel and also kinda him? Ascians are weird. I generally hold they’re functionally the same, but this version is more openly sad. Made a bunch of bird daughters out of dark energy and sent them into space. Found out space was hella dead and decided to kill everyone and then himself. Then wiped his memory of that decision so he can test the people of his world.

Thordan: Has canonically fucked. Unfortunately. Is Elf Pope and Aymeric’s dad. Looks hella old. Keeps the secret that the elves started the war with the dragons.

Nidhogg: Has also canonically fucked, probably. Another son of Midgardsormr. Hates the Elf Papal States cuz they killed his sister 1000 years ago and has been trying to kill them ever since. Gets killed. Comes back, and then killed again. I like him. He’s fun.

Hythlodaeus: Does not have a made-up name. It means “Dispenser of nonsense” and is from “Utopia.” Or so I’m told. Is a fucking troll for the most part. Says he’s incredibly weak except for his magic sight, but he’s comparing himself to Emet-Selch and another friend. Works for the creation approval department of the Ancient DMV. Hates getting all the shark ideas. Keeps approving all the shark ideas. Wao Sugoi. Generally shipped with Emet-Selch (and sometimes their third) in fandom, extremely popular. Has the dead mom hairdo, which is fitting, cuz he died 12k years ago.

Nero: Cid G’s constantly divorced and remarried husband. Constantly trying to one-up him because Cid G comes from privilege and Nero “had to work his way up to the top” and kept getting outshone. They aren’t actually married, but people often interpret it that way cuz there’s a five minute cutscene we have to watch every time we do a dungeon where he’s on call complaining to Cid and the WoL just... stands there.

Gaius: My BEC character who can do no right. Used to be believed to be fucking his adoptive daughter, but after he was given five more adoptive kids, not only was it revealed he wasn’t fucking her, but also that he thought it was creepy she was pursuing him and was his least favorite kid and subordinate and he totally hated that he adopted her. I hate him, but he’s generally well-liked. Has some funny lines that people don’t pay attention to the meaning of because haha guy says funny line in a funny way. One has been deleted from the game and people are still mad about it. Hates the evil laughing wizards from hell known as Ascians because one used him to try and destroy the world when he only wanted to rule the savages.

Ardbert: Is a bro. Ghost bro. Killed himself and his friends to cross parallel universes to save their world by causing a rejoining. Urianger managed to broker a way for their world to stay around without a rejoining. We later run into him again. He was a bro. Had at least one person who wanted to fuck him.

not really, no! if i were to subscribe, id probably only subscribe to my friends, and i generally trust theyre going to send me their fic so i can read it the way i send all my fic to my friends, lmao. when i want to 'subscribe' to an author, i usually just follow them on social media

72. What’s your favorite writing compliment you’ve gotten?

a professor at college recently told me that my writing "reads like [i] care about every sentence" and it almost made me cry. cuz like, man, i do! i really do.

74. Do you have a fic you wish got a bit more love?

glances at my third life fic. uh.

actually tho, i think my fic generally does pretty well? for example, my tma fic usually did pretty good, esp since tma was a rlly popular fandom when i was posting it and i was writing angst/tragedy, which isnt necessarily what ppl want to read in an already-tragic fandom. my kudos:hits ratio tends to be pretty decent on all my work, so when i set aside my unending vanity, i tend to be pretty satisfied w my numbers

that said... i think when it came out i wanted "Anchor" to have more attention, as well as "as long as you can remember." lookin at my stats now, "if it rhymes, it's true, but i hate poetry" has the most kudos and yet second-least comments of my tma oneshots, which. ill truly never understand ao3 audience engagement

76. How do you deal with writing pressure, whether internal or external?

writing pressure... im not sure i have a lot of that? if anything, there's not enough pressure on myself to actually write. its pretty hard to sit down and put my feet to the fire and do it, and i dont yet have a way to manage that

unless, of course, you mean the internal critic. thats also a bit difficult, but the fact i LOVE editing makes it easier. writing is fun and all, but you know whats more fun? taking a decent scene or sentence and making it wonderful

78. What motivates you during the writing process?

usually i write with one specific goal, scene, vibe, or point in mind and actualizing that motivates me. that might be "i have a clear mental image in my head and i want to see it happen" or it might be "i would love to do an examination of this aspect of that character/plot thing" or simply just "hey isnt this fucked up"

achieving that is basically my main drive

"I am certain that our human crew will take care of us while we have a 'vacation' at Earth." Kifo, the crews captain assured him.

Although Earth was one of the most dangerous Death world's, the human members, Kyle and Lexi, pressured them to come to Earth.

"Okay Captain, just making sure that this vacation is actually going to be relaxing..." Deri said as he shivered, remembering their last mission.

The crew had to go to planet Querti, an even more dangerous planet than Earth. They had to rescue a few Gropiar's that crash landed on the place when the ship when 'wack', as the humans say.

The adventure left them so scarred that they were given a well deserved break of 30 planet rotations. Each member had a place they wanted to visit, but the humans declared that they go to Earth instead.

So, a few hours later, they were at a place called a hotel, which the humans explain that it was a building where you can pay for a room and temporarily stay at.

Within the first seven days, the crew were having a blast. Sure there were a few accidents here and there, ("AHHHH! HOTHOTHOTHOTHOTHOTHO-" "AGH- FREWAN! SOMEONE GET HELP" "A H H H H -") but hey! They survived and still alive. So why not make the best out of it? Like, say, a trip to a water park!

Who knew that going down a smooth, water covered surface going at high speeds could be so fun? Not to mention the food!

While at the park, Weggia asked about the strange human that has a cloth wrapped around her head except her face. The two humans were amused and explained to them about Muslims, Christian, and other religions that they could remember.

They also did this thing called 'Movie Night' where we basically watch animated drawings come to life to tell us a story.

Since horror movies were a big no-no, they watched Disney and Pixar films.

"Encanto was so- amazing! I never thought that a 1 and a half hour long film could make you feel such things!"

"I feel so bad for Bruno... He didn't deserve such treatment"

"Curse you Alma!!!"

"Ay! I know that Abuela didn't do a great job treating her family, but she was trying her best!"

Oh yeah. They'd usually end up talking about their opinions of the movie. The Aliens never expected to defend fictional characters but here they are

Within 14 days, the crew were deciding where to go next. When Flori suggested to go to a more quiet place, Kyle snapped his fingers as an idea popped into his head and said that they could visit the near by library.

Although the team knew how to read Earth language, that doesn't mean that they don't have at least a little bit of trouble. After all, they had translators in their heads and don't really need to read human language.

Soon, they find themselves being told the story of a boy with a lighting scar on his forehead.

Saying that they got hooked up with the plot was an understatement. They basically bought as many interesting Earth books the Kyle and Lexi recommend and immediately started making them translate everything.

They were also introduced to Social Media, not that they weren't aware of it's existence before. It just never really intrigued the Aliens. But after hearing about 'Fanfiction' and 'Fandoms' they went head first and were not disappointed.

In 21 days, the crew went to visit a zoo. There were a lot of animals that look like other senten species but knew that they weren't actually other aliens.

Still, it kinda creeped them out.

After that, they decided to split up. Lexi, Weggia, and Deri out to buy lunch (cuz McDonald's was way too crowded for them to eat in the dang place) while Kyle, Kifo, and Flori go back to the hotel. On the way home they saw a street puppy. Kifo and Flori who still vividly remember the information the zookeepers told them, try to avoid it as physically possible. Kyle on the other hand basically adopts the poor thing, brings it back with them, bathes it, etc.

While Kyle went out to buy stuff for their new pet, Flori and Kifo were surprised at how nice the dog was, and instantly formed a bond.

But before Kyle got back, the others were finished and were ready to go with the food.

*door opens reveling Lexi and the others* "Hey guys-" *spots puppy* "..."

*insert prolonged eye contact*

"Why is there a do-" "OH.DEAR.HUMANS.THERE.IS.A.WOLF!!!" "Wait guys, it's not dangero-" "AHHHHHH-!"

Let's just say that there was lots of screaming, explaining, and bonding with the dog, now named Scar (because of a long wound he has on his back that nobody knows how he got).

Within 29 days, the crew were packing up, for tomorrow was the end of their little break. Eager to go back to work. Although they are overjoyed to get back out to space, they were sad that they had to leave Earth. Sure, it was a Class 4 death world, and it had problems like Global warming and Pollution, and that there were people that lost their homes, but everything has its bad side. Not to mention that people are trying to fix the mess that they created.

They said their goodbyes, happy with the pet they now have. They learnt so much about Earth and started understanding how Humans live. They realise that there was more to Earth than its dangers.

Ever since then, they have been spreading the word, more and more Alien Tourist from all around the galaxy arrive. And more they understood humans and the amazing planet the call home, Earth.
