Hullo Marcia! I was wondering, what- for you- are the most annoying misconceptions Disney fans have about Disney (or if you want to narrow it down, just Walt's original three)? I feel like fans for the last 20-30 years are just so intellectually far removed from the franchise and don't understand anything about it which is why we have stupid takes like "Mulan would hate those boring feminine princesses" or "Snow White is passive" or "Rapunzel is the healthiest most feminist Disney film" being passed around like basic facts.
Oooh that's a good prompt. I have so many more, I was actually thinking about making a post about this soon but:
Belle is the smartest princess because she likes to read lol you all knew this would be coming!! It's the most painful because it's overly simplistic, to the point of being glib, but she also probably makes the stupidest decisions out of any princess and doesn't showcase intelligence at all throughout the film, imo. The fact that she holds a eight page illustrated edition of Jack and the Beanstalk doesn't absolve her of her terrible choices, nor the fact that she probably is the most communicatively ineffective character I've ever seen lol
That the original three princesses are practically interchangeable when they could not be further apart in terms of visual decision, storytelling approach, or vocal performance- *especially* when the past two or three decades have given us nothing but Belle and Rapunzel variants.
Snow White being 14 and the Prince being 31...I don't think the people who repeat this actually believe it either, it's just false outrage at this point.
Cinderella waited for a Prince to save her or that Ariel went to the surface only for her man/gave up her voice and family for him (which like...this is already a reach but you have to actively not pay attention to the film to think this).
That Tiana's "girl boss" status is aspirational when that's actually the part of Tiana that's pre arc. Contributing to grind culture isn't a good thing and the movie acknowledges that there's only so much in Tiana's direct control. She grows after she discovers that there's more to aspire to, outside of something that's so restricted to the capitalistic structure. I think we all need to relisten to "Dig a Little Deeper" lol idk if she's a princess, but I feel this about Meg too. Her jaded side isn't #goals the way most people make it out to be, like it's one thing to be relatable but I don't think we should necessarily cheer her being damaged before she works to overcome it.
When they summarize or promote any Princess as "the first who's not looking for a man." At a 2017 D23 panel of four princesses, Annika, Auli'i, and Paige all said the same thing about their princesses by defining them on their relationships to men while only Jodi was smart enough to avoid this trap lol add to this: when they promote a Princess as "breaking the mold," which is the mold at this point.
When they market any princess as the only one to have x attribute or be the most y (it's normally strongest, bravest, fill in your patriarchal attribute here). It's passe at this point and comparing apples to oranges. Tiana isn't the only one that has a business acumen, Belle isn't the only one not looking for a man, etc.

Alright. As promised and voted for, this is the first batch of Oswald/Ortensia merch I have in my collection atm.
To not clog the tag, I will reblog with additions the more I clean my display case out.
The first batch is also under the line break.
I figured I'd start simple.
I've already showed the reorganisation of my Oswald pins a while back.
But there are pins I have which either belong to a set or are too heavy to stay on the board or are in their own packaging.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The resin on these have yellowed a bit, (idk why because I keep the box closed and out of sunlight) but they included Oswald in this little playing card themed set.
These where sold in Japan. Don't know what year though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This set was released in honor of Oswald's 90th (2017) and only during D23 of that year. They were sold seperately too but the set came in this neat little filmreal display!
Tumblr media
An portrait themed poster pin, complete with easel as stamd. This one is pretty hefty so ussually displayed on the stand.(2013)
Tumblr media
These are special to me because I actually attended Fandaze in Disneyland Paris back in 2018, because Ortensia was going to make her park debut there.
It was amazing! Not sure if the lifeblog survived the last time I purched this blog, but I still have videos and the merch from back then.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The latest addition! Mission to Mars Oswald by Eric Tan, but the pin version. Also a hefty boi but I love him!
Next up will be either bags or keychains. Maybe even both.

Have you ever been recognized as TBEA while at a Disney park or event?
Yes! I was recognized at D23 Expo 2017, both by followers of this blog who knew I would be there and were looking for me, and by crew! It was pretty cool and humbling, and I'm afraid I was extremely awkward towards the blog fans.

I need to talk about the third Planes film so please look!
Listen, it is pretty late for me and I am too lazy to retype everything so this is what I typed @his-hippie’s server.
Tumblr media
And you are probably wondering why I bring this up. Well I’m here to speak why.
I found this old release schedule photo i had while looking to change my lock screen and it reminded me of stuff.
Tumblr media
This was an old release schedule for Disney and Pixar films that came from 2017 and this was official bc I found that schedule from a video on YouTube talking about the new animated projects presented at D23 in 2017. This came from 2017 which explains that most films on the list are untitled films. Now look at the feature film listed on that list that I highlighted in red. As you can see that is the only film by Disneytoon Studios for the release schedule.
Which Disney animation studio shut down in 2018? Disneytoons.
As what can be told it is clear that that film was supposed to be the third Planes film that we never got.
To put this into a timeline for the Planes franchise:
2013- Planes
2014- Planes: Fire and Rescue
2017- Announcement of the third film at D23 because it was described as an untitled film set in the World of Cars which implied that it’s the third movie in the franchise. It was also announced that this film was going to be done under Disneytoon Studios and has a release date of April 12th, 2019
Early 2018- This film was removed from the release schedule for unexplained reasons
Late 2018- The studio shut down officially canceling all production on this film and all other possible projects that could’ve been and send off about 75 animators and people who worked at Disneytoons.
2019- No movie from Disneytoons came out in theaters.
I watched both Brother Bear and Brother Bear 2 since it’s been a while since I last saw these films. At the end of the second film it showed the Disneytoon Studios Logo and it reminded me that Disney decided to kill this animation studio and pretends it doesn’t exist to this day in fact. It angers me because a lot of the films made by the studio are a part of so many people’s childhoods. Mine included.
Going back to my old post from August about how Disney + should add a separate section for Disneytoon Studios and their films, I feel this adds up. If you haven’t seen that post, here it is.
It also really upsets me to consider that this third film we could’ve gotten was probably one of the last projects at Disneytoons before it’s shut down in 2018.
Another thing that makes me upset, that Disneytoons was probably considered the black sheep of Disney animation becuase it wasn’t at Walt Disney Animation Studios or at Pixar level but the studio still made good content.
I’m pretty tired but I’m sure you get the gist.

Huey, Dewey and Louie from 2017 Ducktales said it was awesome reuniting with their Disney family for the 100th anniversary group photo. “So grateful” says Huey, while Dewey nods in agreement. “Our fans made this dream possible” adds Louie. Characters also walked the purple carpet for D23’s royal Disney ball. So many delicious foods and desserts were added, including the cutting of the golden Mickey ears cake. Plus plenty of dancing to a mix of classic and modern Disney songs. Just like Taylor Swift at her eras tour, Disney characters gave looks of shocked pleasure and happiness as so many Disney fans cheered, thanking them for 100 years of memories. And, more to come

I hope this isn't too personal or anything but what kind of relationship do you have with Dove? Do you have her phone number and actually talk to her or is it more of a fan level relationship? I'm not trying to be mean or anything I'm just a new follower and don't know a whole lot
we're married /j
no youre totally fine!! it is a fan relationship but like to the extent that she knows who i am, remembers me, remembers details about me, etc. and ive met her many times over the last 8 years
ill put it in under read more for the people that have already heard these stories hundreds of times lol
i first met her at d23 expo 2015 when i was cosplaying as maddie. was absolutely sobbing when i met her and she started to tear up herself. she called me honey and sweetheart and rocked me back and forth while i hugged her still bawling lol
my first liv and maddie taping was about 2 months later and when i reminded her who i was (she didnt know right away but i get that since i wasnt wearing glasses or a ponytail) she jumped out of her chair hugged me and said HI SWEETY and wouldnt let me go even when jordan fisher started talking to me lol (he recognized me too) she told me my cosplay made her whole weekend.
we had some more great interactions at the next few live tapings. at the last one with a meet and greet, she said "i know you!!" right when she saw me. i mentioned my mom coming to the following taping (which sadly never happened bc it was cancelled) and she was like "ive never met your mom!!" and the fact that she was aware of that and saw it as something important warmed my heart.
about a year passed without seeing her but i saw her again at the 2017 rdmas which was the first time she said "i love you" to me without me saying it first. this was around when she really started to remember me without me having to reintroduce myself.
the rise of the isle of the lost book launch was the following month and she said she loved that im always at these events. 2 months later was d23 again and she said "hi love!! how are you!?" when i got my descendants 2 cd signed by her.
one of my favorite interactions was 2 weeks after that at the stage door of mamma mia at the hollywood bowl. right upon seeing me she said "hi baby!!," hugged me, and asked how id been in the last two weeks since we'd seen each other. at the time, i didnt know when id see her again so i took a moment to remind her how much she means to me and she said "you are an angel in my life."
a random meet and greet came up a few months later for her hair extension line where i was once again greeted with an immediate "hi baby!!" and hug. when i walked away and waved goodbye she shouted "i love you!!"
another favorite was at a panel for agents of shield the following year that happened in nyc when i just so happened to be there for spring break. as she walked in the room while they were playing a clip, she quietly said hi to people and gasped upon seeing me, gave me the usual "hi baby!" and stopped on her way to the stage to give me a hug. after the panel, she said goodbye to everyone, saying "i love you, i love you, i love YOU" and hugged me again saying "thank you for being here as always"
8 months later was the first preview of clueless the musical which i went back to nyc specifically for. this was another all time fav interaction. her face lit up when she saw me in the stage door crowd. when she was done meeting other fans, i once again got hi baby, "so good to see you," and her telling me she saw me in the audience + proving she meant it by telling me where i was (so she def saw me drooling over her for 2 and a half hours...but she probably expected that from me). i met thomas that night as well and my mom was with me too and she said "hey babe, they approve of you! and theyve been around longer than you have!"
about half a year later was disney channel fan fest where i once again got a hi baby when i was next in line plus a cute little dance over to me that lead into hug when i walked up.
that was my last interaction pre-covid and the only ones ive had since (save for her 2021 concert where we did interact but im not certain she knew it was "me" bc we didnt like talk and i was wearing a mask) have been at the cameron boyce foundation gala where ofc shes still sweet to me but naturally shes not as excited or talkative given that were mourning someone. but last year, she said "hi babe!" and gave me a hug. i didnt get to talk to her much then but this year i wanted her to know that even tho i wasnt able to show it for a while bc of quarantine that im still supporting her every step of the way and she brushed my arm sweetly and thanked me. she blew my friend and i kisses when she left and told us she loved us.
worth noting tho that the only social media interactions weve had have been her liking a handful of my comments on instagram and tiktok, and i cant even be sure that she knows the comments shes liking are from "me." i have too much social anxiety to be on stan twitter, so we dont communicate over social media at all or anything. but she knows me on a face to face basis and knows ive been there from the beginning and have gone to lengths to see her in her biggest moments.

TOY STORY 5, ZOOTOPIA 2, and FROZEN 3 Oh My!
Tumblr media
So that's where we're at, huh?
Disney recently did an earnings call, where these surprise sequels are usually first announced. That's where, in 2014, we first heard of TOY STORY 4, CARS 3, and INCREDIBLES 2 all happening at Pixar... And in 2015, when they announced that FROZEN II was a thing happening at Walt Disney Animation Studios... Not-sequel animated features, they save for elsewhere: D23, announcements in the trades, etc.
Time for some unorganized thoughts!
TOY STORY 5...
Well, that's a real bomb drop right there...
Even though TOY STORY 4, at least to those who liked the film like I did, was arguably a firm conclusion to the story... Maybe it's a firm conclusion to Woody's story, much like how TOY STORY 3 was to the toys' lives in Andy's room... Maybe TOY STORY 5, following Buzz Lightyear and the Bonnie's room gang, will be about the end of *their* story? It feels kind of wrong to me... Especially since Don Rickles has not been with us since 2017. Mr. Potato Head's few lines in TOY STORY 4 were a pieced-together zombie performance from lines recorded for the first three movies... Either that, or they just follow Woody and Bo Peep as vagabond lost toys... Also, Estelle Harris, the voice of Mrs. Potato Head, is not with us. But, like... Honestly, how much longer can you stretch this? I would've preferred if LIGHTYEAR had done well and had gotten a small series of spacebound adventure movies. To me, that was the best way to continue this franchise without having to make another TOY STORY movie proper... But you can't have everything I suppose, haha. I'm surprised this is their next big sequel announcement, and not something like... Say... LUCA 2 or whatever. (Hey, it is a possibility.) Heck, at this point, A BUG'S LIFE 2 wouldn't be too farfetched. Pixar made sequels to movies where some of the cast had passed away (CARS with Paul Newman and George Carlin, TOY STORY 3 happened after Jim Varney's passing), so... they could possibly make that movie if they wanted to.
These announcements are usually vague anyways, so who knows... Maybe it's just 90 minutes of Ducky & Bunny. That would be funny. Key and Peele spearheading a wacky TOY STORY spin-off where they just kabitz and goof around, I mean... What else could they possibly spin off? They won't be doing a WOODY'S ROUNDUP-style Western, for sure. LIGHTYEAR lost money and proved to be divisive. So much to think about, so much to ask... Who is even directing/writing? Lee Unkrich retired, Pete Docter is CCO of Pixar and is likely too busy to direct this (he was already working on SOUL before he was named CCO, and that's likely the last film he'll direct), Josh Cooley isn't at Pixar either. Andrew Stanton is off trying to get live-action movies off the ground, but I assume he'll at least contribute to the story/script, ditto Docter... It's all so weird.
Capitalism, ya know? If characters are beloved and your latest sequel makes over a billion at the worldwide box office, you bet 'yer behind it's getting another installment. The wheels keep turning. STAR WARS went on without George Lucas, etc. Maybe a reinvention is in order? Whose to say we can't follow *other* toys that are alive in this setting? I haven't seen LOST OLLIE yet, but it shows there are other ways to tell the "toys come to life" kind of story in a post-TOY STORY age. TOY STORY 5 doesn't have to be about Woody or Buzz or anyone we've met in the series on screen over the past 28 years. What about the humans themselves? What's Andy up to as a college student? Where did Al McWhiggin pursue after he got his comeuppance at the end of TOY STORY 2? (There was a sketch made during the making of TOY STORY 3 indicating that the toys at one point would've visited Al's Toy Barn, now known as Hal's Toy Barn. Under new management.)
TOY STORY 5 would mark the second-ever American animated movie series to reach five mainline *theatrical* movies, not counting spin-offs. (DESPICABLE ME is at five, soon to be six. SHREK is at six because of the two PUSS IN BOOTS movies.) The first ever was ICE AGE, whose fifth installment, COLLISION COURSE, came out and made enough money in 2016. I think Disney, since they shuttered Blue Sky, will just keep that franchise going as a Disney+ thing. After all, that BUCK WILD movie exists. Back to the fifth mainline movies... SHREK will be next, whenever SHREK PLEADS THE FIFTH bows...
On the Walt Disney Animation Studios front, FROZEN III was always a given. What it could be about, I don't know. Anna and Elsa, similarly, went their separate ways at the end of the sequel... Though travel is a thing, so... Again, I don't know what to add. I quite enjoyed FROZEN II and felt it was an improvement over the original, so yeah... FROZEN III, do whatever. Makes coin, helps fund original movies, it's all good and... Ahem, cool. When does it come out, anyways? Next year after WISH? FROZEN II will turn five that season. WDAS is doing one a year every Thanksgiving from here on out, so it could be one of the 2025 or 2026 releases, too. One of those "Untitled Disney" placeholders for live-action/CGI tech demo movies could go to a WDAS as well, if they want to get a sequel and an original out in a calendar year.
ZOOTOPIA 2 was a given as well, even if it has been a while since the original bowed in the late winter of 2016. I love the detailed and carefully-crafted world that Byron Howard, Rich Moore and the film crew created. ZOOTOPIA was an on-the-move 48 hours adventure, so we didn't get to see all of that big metropolis. ZOOTOPIA+, the Disney+ midquel series, showed us a little bit more, which was nice... But now a whole other movie? NOICE! I wonder if it'll work in elements from scrapped earlier versions of the movie... When it was known as SAVAGE SEAS/SAVAGE CITY, and was more of a James Bond-inspired movie. I think that's the logical next step, honestly, for Nick and Judy. From cops to spies. Especially in a day and age of us being more informed and aware of what the real-life police have done. That 1st movie is in some hot water now. Without getting too political, I'll leave this at "I'm curious to see what they'll do"...
That could also be a 2025/2026 release... Some 9-10 years after the first movie came out. Who directs? Does Byron Howard return, now that ENCANTO is done and out of the way? Co-director Jared Bush confirmed on twitter that he's still involved. Was it given to someone else?
For anyone not in the know on how animation works, the question would be "why'd they wait 10 years to make ZOOTOPIA 2?"... Animation takes a long time, originals and these sequels have to co-exist, but time is time... and maybe WDAS should consider upping that recently-opened Vancouver studio (who are currently at work on the MOANA Disney+ series) to feature-making status? Much like how the Orlando unit in the '90s and early '00s started doing whole features with MULAN and went on to make LILO & STITCH and BROTHER BEAR before their unfortunate shutdown? Again, Disney locked a bunch of placeholder dates for different movies... Whose to say WDAS can't up the load and release two movies in, say, 2025 or 2026? Why not two in the year Pixar does only one new movie?
So yes, this is all so very, very wild... In addition to the company marking WDAS and Pixar releases dates from 2024-2026 weeks ago, we now know that... TOY STORY 5, FROZEN III, and ZOOTOPIA 2 are all happening. I have *several* questions about TOY STORY 5, I look forward to seeing what Anna and Elsa are up to next time around, and I'm totally game for ZOO2PIA...

Have you met any actors from the franchise?
Yes. I had Eden Espinosa on my podcast, so while I haven't met her in person, I spoke "on the phone" with her for over an hour, and I think that counts as meeting her. (If I ever met her in person, you can bet I'd bring it up.) And I spent an hour or so at Disneyland with Zachary Levi as part of his fan entourage. There were 11 of us, total, we went on Jungle Cruise and Thunder Mountain, and watched part of the Electrical Parade before he headed out for the night. (This was during D23 Expo 2017.)
Other than that, I have been in the same room as Mandy Moore a few times without meeting her (at various fan events), and Jeremy Jordan once (at D23 Expo 2017).

When will we get a trailer?
There was some confusion on the internet about the Wakanda Forever trailer because a website erroneously reported that a trailer would air during the NBA Finals.
This seemed perfectly reasonably because Marvel films tend to release trailers about 5 months before the film releases, and that's June for the November release of Wakanda Forever.
Also, the first look of the original film did premiere during the NBA finals in 2017. That was actually unusual, as it was was the furthest out Marvel ever released a trailer for a project (in mid-2017 for a movie that didn't come out until February 2018).
Historically, Marvel movies releasing in November see a trailer in April of that same year, which we have well-passed, according to Murphy's Multiverse.
But Marvel has been playing around with it's promotion. There has been quite a bit of analysis recently since Thor Love and Thunder didn't drop a trailer in the usual timeline. It didn't appear online until about a month and a half before the release date. (If that continues, we won't see anything until the Fall.)
I suspect, with COVID and Disney+ shows also complicating matters, Marvel wants promotion to be a bit more focused. And the filming of Wakanda Forever has been very secretive.
Theoretically, it could appear any time now. But I suspect we won't see anything until after Love and Thunder and Ms Marvel promotion ends, but before the premier of She-Hulk (August 17). That's just my speculation. San Diego Comic Con begins on July 21, and there is a possibility there will be new Marvel content then, though some have speculated it will be put off until the D23 (Disney's fan expo) which doesn't happen until September 7.

Day 6: I am still not 100% better and I am getting super bloated/grumbly when I eat anything solid but I think I’m getting better???
I’ve been taking medicine my dad got me (perks to have a GI for a dad) but I’m troubled that it’s been lasting this long. Now yes, I’ve had random stomach problems like this before, but not in a long time and not for this long.
Last time I can remember it being really bad was probably after we got back from D23 in 2017, and I chalked that up to overindulgence of good food and alcohol mixed with stress of travel. Hmm.
