I'm going to be moving in with my girlfriend!!!! It'll be a bit yet and I do feel kinda weird and sad because of this place, it's my first flat that I moved into after uni/out of home and I've been here for eight years this April so it (and the area) holds a lot of memories good and bad, but change is allowed to be complicated and moving onto something that is really good and exciting can also be hard for the leaving behind.

But I get to live with my girlfriend and fill our home with love and friends and family and have a home that for the first time in my life feels safe and like a refuge because of the person I'll be coming home to, which I never even thought was possible. I thought the only way a place would ever feel safe to me is if I was living there alone, but I can't wait to be with her and have all my friends over and make it a good space and aaaaaah. Stress and change and god knows moving costs and how long it's going to take for us to actually be able to move but idk.

Good news and hope.

Just hear me out:

Gyro and Johnny get into a little argument one evening out in their great yard away from the ears of their kids as the sun sets.

Johnny wants Gyro to spend more time with his daughters because he noticed that Gyro has deliberately kept his distance with some excuse or other. Moreover, Maggie had talked to Johnny and explained that she felt left out by Gyro and worried if he hates her.

At first, Gyro was having none of it, claiming his daughters were perfectly fine and that he didn't need to baby them. In the end, they agreed to disagree and went on with the night.

So imagine Johnny's surprise when he comes home and finds Gyro sitting at a small table in the kids' room, teacups and little dishes all over the table, the girls dressed in their best, and Gyro rocking some cute braids in his hair. Well, Gyro isn't particularly thrilled about it, but the girls looked happier and invited Johnny to join their little party.

Maggie suggested that they do Gyro's hair up into a messy bun next, and Gyro lets them with an occasional growl if they pull at his hair too hard.

Something I did get—Donald Duck comics!!! There was a display outside of a tobacco shop close to the building Mozart was born in, so I flipped through as many as I could and chose these three based mostly on which characters I saw inside.

This reminds me that I still have to read the one I got at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam back in 2019…
