What is 5 second rule or 3 second rule?

5 second rule connotes if you accidently drop a piece of your food then you have to pick it up in five seconds if you can't your brain will kill it .

Was 5 or 3 second rule ever applied?

It was never applied, infact this rule is only making our body enter 5% of germs or bacteria.

What does science say?

Researchers did an experiment and find out was, that when you accidently drop the piece of food the germs on the floor can stick right away even if you pick it up super fast! .

Why this rule persists?

You see when you drop that scrumptious piece of food this 5 or 3 second rule is an seasonable excuse to eat that scrumptious piece of food.

Research suggests that dropped food that’s moist and sticky will likely have more bacteria attach to it than dry food.

Also, food dropped on carpet will likely have less contamination than food that lands on a wooden or tiled floor.

Fourth Wing / Iron Flame SPOILERS ahead

I just read these 2 books within like 5 days so let us talk about some theories shall we?

Be ready for a long rant about multiple theories

So first of, I saw some people hating on book 2 for not following the hype of Fourth Wings???? I admit it took me 4 days to get through Iron Flame and like not even a day for Fourth Wings BUT I think thats because IF is more lore heavy. IF is just as good as the first one imo!

Now to some theories

The mystery of Violet Sorrengail's second signet.

So I was like 1/3 of the way through the book when I got some spoilers about Xaden having a second signet without diving further in what it is and then people being like "Hey I wonder what Violet's would be". So I started reading with some more purpose

I have 2 theories so far and no, I don't think Violet is a Distance Wielder. Yes that signet hasnt been seen in decades or even centuries and Adarna waited almost 700 years to hatch WHICH WOULD ADD UP! But I feel like it's a little too much on the nose.

At first I thought Violet might be able to dreamwalk. would it be useful in combat? No. But seeing as Violet thrives on knowing the facts and what is around her and it probably manifesting while Adarna was in the Dreamless Sleep (bit contradicting).. It would explain Violet being able to talk to Sage and actual being able to gather information from it. But we also do not know enough about Venin to know if this power comes from them.

My other guess on her signet, as more people are talking about, is her speaking to the dead. Now hear me out, yes I know it is a common thing in books and stuff that on the brink of madness and dehydration and yada yada.... people can hallucinate. Is it a possibility that this is also still the case? Sure, but why does Liam tell her things she doesn't know? Or contradict her? Speaking to the dead could also apply that she is Spiritualy gifted thanks to her mother being sick during pregnacy. MAYBE Lilith praying to Malek asking him to not take her child came with the cost of making her 'fragile' . And as we learned and keep hearing:

"At its core, magic demands balance"

Also interesting how she can talk to Liam.. maybe because not ALL his stuff was burned??? I think they must burn it to cut off the connection between the mortal world and the plane they go to after death. Is this a Riders custom? Possibly but maybe Malek is more hoovering over the people bonded by dragons.

Now that that ramble is done.. could all of these be far fatched, oh definitely but it's a fantasy world so we are allowed to be

MOVING ON THEORY 2 !!!

Which is just me debunking the orange dragon theory. Why does everyone automatically assume Sgeayl doesnt trust Brennan because of his dragon?? Sure we know the orange dragons are unpredictable and their choice of rider mirrors that.. like look at both Jack and Varrish FUCKING UNHINGED if you ask me.

But why is no one going like "oh, it's because Brennan is the reason Tairn his last rider died" ?? Do we know if this almost killed Tairn, which FYI is Sgeayl's mate?? So she could still blame him for almost taking him from her. I'm not sure if we know if he almost died (its 2am and I needed this out my head to be able to sleep) after his riders death. But we do know that after the events took place Tairn was only ever spotted and distanced himself as far as we know, until he joined Adarna because even as a feathertail they couldnt keep her in check.

I also think Cam AKA Aaric will be WAY more important to the story like.. how will a third prince with pent up anger towards his father and the way he rules the kingdom not be able to siphon a powerfull signet

Well please enlighten me with you guys' thoughts because I'm obsessed and can't stop crying about Liam so distract me.

and here's the snippet, from the second WIP!

Ted gasps again. Beard ignores him. So, apparently, does Roy. “Alright. What the fuck’s code blue, then? ‘S’at for Man City or something?”

Several undignified seconds pass where Beard cannot fathom why Roy would possibly think he was talking to him about football. 

“...What? No. Code Blue- Coach,” he looks behind him, throws some appropriately befuddled eyebrow movements in his direction, “how does he not know about Code Blue?” 

Ted tilts his head to the side. He’s smiling, and doesn’t look the least bit thrown. Fucking improv practice. “Probably because it’s a code you and I came up with on our lonesomes, and we’ve yet to pen any manifestos espousing its utility to the masses?” 

Beard takes a moment to process that. “Yeah, okay.” Swings back round to Roy. Lowers his hand, which is still tired from the rowing, and folds his arms across his chest. “Code Blue’s our ‘no questions asked’ code.” 

“For when you’ve just witnessed the start of a zombie apocalypse, or an alien invasion- anything that’d have your buddy looking for hidden cameras, otherwise.” Ted chimes in, diligently steering Roy’s attention back to him. Beard passingly wonders what his plans are for unscrewing Beard’s professional reputation. Knowing him, it almost certainly involves too much whisking. Fucking Lasso. “Cuts out any time wasted with the whole ‘aw, honey, I’m sure it was just a trick of the light’ routine - which is patronising as all get out as far as counter-arguments go, so I’d like to think our attempts at debunks would be little more nuanced either way- but that’s besides the point.”

“There’s a point?” Roy says, eyebrows creeping even higher. 

“Sure!” Ted says, cheerily. “The point in question: if someone calls Code Blue, you don’t argue. It’s sacred.” There’s a pause. “Hey, wait a minute, that first bit rhymed!” 

“No questions asked,” Beard cuts in before Ted can start work-shopping a couplet, nodding once, firmly.

“No! Questions! Asked!” Ted echoes, punctuating each word with an enthusiastic rap on his desk.

Rowan and Aelin aren’t Mates — SJM is just horny!

(A Lyra and Rowan are mates defense post)

To understand why I will go to my grave saying Rowan and Lyra are mates, despite what the text says (text SJM admitted to having to change constantly to make Rowaelin endgame because they wouldn’t have worked otherwise), we have to breakdown the mating bond to what we know about it across both TOG and ACOTAR (it might be the same for CC, but I haven’t read the second book yet, so I can’t speak for it), and from what she’s said in interviews.

Let’s go! (I’ll try to be as coherent as possible)

What we know about the bond (interview):

1) Mates can’t hurt each other (a lie)

2) The bond takes a while to snap into place (also a lie, will explain in two seconds)

3) Two mates are possible (a lie)

What we know about the bond (books):

1) The bond immediately snaps into place, it only requires immortality and magic.

2) Mating bonds are (supposed to be) rare, and highly valued/ the sanctity of mating is protected

3) Unmated/mated mates can be smelled by others

4) Biting is sexual between mates.

5) In ACOTAR, the males feel it more than the females. In TOG, it seems relatively equal.

There’s probably more I’m missing, but the last thing I care to do is crack open the books or go on the wiki.

You might be looking at this list and asking, “Okay, what does any of this mean?” Well, my friend, guess who—at first glance—doesn’t fit most of these? Go on, guess. Did you guess Rowaelin? YOU’RE A WINNER! If you didn’t, why are you here?

But let’s break it down a little further (colors correspond):

1) This is pretty self-explanatory. Check Rhys UTM and Rowan in Heir of Fire.

This rule (which I feel like she also included in book, I just don’t remember if she did and in which book if she really did, I just know she did say it in an interview before the release of Queen of Shadows) completely exposes that SJM had different plans for both of her series. Feylin was originally supposed to be endgame before SJM scrapped the original version (without fully rewriting ACOTAR). Doraelin was supposed to be endgame, just as they were in Queen of Glass (the original version of TOG), just as TOG was supposed to be a trilogy and she didn’t rewrite most of it from the original (aside from removing the Cindrillion stuff). (Honestly, this rule exposes Doraelin as endgame seeing as she said it before QOS was released and in HOF we have a flashback where Aelin could’ve easily went after Dorian herself for spilling something on her dress, but she sent Aedion after him in the same book where he punched her and she attacks Rowan for using Luca as bait for her, both scenes when they aren’t training, so there’s no excuse, and in COM, while she attacked everyone else, she could only hiss at him.)

2) I’ll cover this later.

3) It’s not possible. Not when she keeps writing other romances as being less than when compared to mate romances and how possessive the males are “biologically”. This was just a lie SJM told to try to hide the Lyra/Rowan retcon.

1) This is also self-explanatory. The bond snaps into place for Rhys at the end of ACOTAR and Lucien at the end of ACOMAF. Cassian’s likely snapped into place off page, but I also haven’t read ACOSF, so I don’t know what SJM did with that. And then Maeve a) was expecting it to snap into place the moment Rowan and Aelin meet and b) “manipulated” Rowan’s bond to snap into place for Lyra just as he sees her.

This in and of itself debunks Rowan and Aelin are mates. The explanation that SJM gives is that they were both so broken, they couldn’t see it. But that’s bull. Rhysand and Feyre have just come out from UTM, from witnessing her death, and she still hates him and is fearful of him when it snapped into place for them. The love was what took a (arguable) while. And wasn’t there a backstory in ACOTAR where one of the bonds snap into place, despite them hating each other? And again, I point out that Maeve was expecting the bond to snap into place for Rowaelin, even through whatever, she was expecting it. And it didn’t.

But anon, they’re separate series, stop comparing them! Not in terms of the bond, they’re not. They’re actually very similar, if not the exact same. Across both series, what takes a while is for the characters to fall in love and consummate the mating bond. But they (at least the males) know right from looking at them.

2 and 3) Now, I’m tying these two together because they kind of go hand in hand. So this is a lie in ACOTAR. Literally everyone and their dog is mated in ACOTAR. However, it seems to hold up in TOG (that I remember. I could be wrong, but I don’t remember Elorcan or Lysaedion being mates but this would still stand regardless) which is why I’m tacking on the third reason. (And I guess a little of 4)

Mates are rare, and mated or unmated, it can be smelled by others up to a mile away.

So explain to me then, if mates are rare and, therefore, important when found and protected and respected at all costs and it can be smelled, how would anyone allow Lyra and Rowan to believe they’re mates? Their friends? Their family? Strangers who would’ve done the right thing and told them, “Hey, you guys aren’t who you think you are”? Did Maeve just manipulate everyone they ever came into contact with? The world? Because contextually, Maeve manipulated Rowan only. And based on Rowan, Lyra didn’t believe it, saying it was hard for him to court her. But if it was hard and implied that she was afraid of him… how did they end up together and her pregnant? (Are you implying he raped her, SJM? Yikes.) And to bring the biting thing into it, as it’s a sexual claiming bite, there’s no doubt Rowan would’ve given one to Lyra, but if the bond between them was fake, then the claim wouldn’t work. So it goes back to the smelling thing. People would know they had sex, sure. They would know Lyra’s baby was Rowan’s, definitely. But it’s clear there’s a distinct mate scent and sex scent in both series. I doubt fae who’ve been alive for centuries wouldn’t not be able to tell the difference to tell one or the other, “Yeah, buddy, that’s not your mate.” I doubt this highly treasured thing of the fae would go ignored if two people thought they were mates, but weren’t. So not only does it not make sense, but it weakens the powers of the fae and the importance of the bond, which overall, weakens the plot of TOG since a lot, and I’d actually argue all, of it hinges on Rowaelin’s mating bond. Except… they obviously aren’t mates. They can’t be or else SEE ABOVE. So there goes the Maeve plot, at least.

4 and 5) These are just facts. (But after Rowan sexually assaults Aelin to force her to shift, he says fae don’t bite the females of other males (see reason 2). We’re supposed to take it to mean it’s about Chaol (and Celaena thinks it is) but it’s never specified in book or by SJM that love/sex can be tasted in the blood, and Rowan only specified that she (excuse me for using this word, but I couldn’t think of anything else) already belonged to another dude. (Because Chaol wasn’t the only guy she loved remember? So it could’ve easily been about Sam too, but given all the Doraelin hints and the fact that they were endgame in the original version, it pointed to Dorian.) And remember when I said Doraelin was supposed to be endgame? Remember that scene where Celaena and Dorian dance in The Assassin’s Blade and it’s like they’re the only two people in the room (a known indication of mates) despite the fact that she’s with Sam at this point? The fact that they keep being drawn together (another known indication of mates)?)

I don’t really know how to close this out, other than to say Rowan and Lyra are mates because they fit the bill of what we know about mates as do Doraelin (I mean, they have similar quotes to Feysand, and you expect me to believe they aren’t?). Hopefully, this was coherent. I’m happy to clear up anything that I didn’t explain well. ☺️ Uhh thanks for letting me ramble in your inbox?

In ACOSF, the mating bond snaps into place when they're having sex and vowing never to want anybody else, late into the book so theirs did not snap immediately. However, Cassian suspected since Nesta was mortal, I think Mor realises in the mortal manor, and Rhys definitely suspects it as he says to Feyre that Cassian will have to make a decision soon about being a buffer.

For Rhys' parents, theirs does snap into place immediately, if I remember correctly, as soon as he sees her about to be clipped.

It never made sense to me either that Maeve could manipulate everybody into thinking they were mates, especially as Lyria was so beneath him in standing. Like it would have made more sense to have used a woman who was more equal to Rowan in terms of power/status - if mates are meant to be equal. But it's the same as Rhys managing to erase memories of Mor/Cassian/Azriel/Amren from the heads of every living person with just a drop of his power while UtM... like there's no way it's possible.

I think sometimes SJM says these things like two mates being possible just to be vague and to add intrigue rather than ruling it out. Even if it won't happen in her books, she likes to float that possibility especially as it adds fuel to the ship war. Just saying if anybody deserves two mates then it's Nesta who should be with Eris.

Petition for sjm to stick to her damn endame and stop retconning everything. Although in this case, I am glad Dorian and Manon got together - I enjoy that pairing at lot more!!

Maybe. Dull edges are certainly one reason you may be sliding out in your turns rather than feeling a solid edge grip, and it’s the easiest issue to rule out. A quick visual inspection of your edges may reveal obvious signs of wear and tear, like rust patches or significant burrs and gouges that could impact edge performance. You can also check for edge sharpness by carefully running the back of your fingers over multiple spots—if edges are sharp, they should snag the hair on the back of your knuckles.

But if your ski edges seem sharp, there might be other issues at play. It could be that your ski bases are no longer flat—if it’s been a while since your last stone grind, your bases may have become warped (e.g. convex or concave). I mean, he was for a second when he thought she was the amazing woman who saved his life. But when losing her voice rules that out, Eric loses all interest in Ariel... Outside of wanting to help out and befriend this shipwrecked stranger.

Eric only starts to have feelings for her after Ariel manages to show her personality without uttering a single word. She shows Eric that she's fun-loving and adventurous when they explore the city together. That's not "at first". You need to also remember that Disney romances are ALWAYS sped up because of the runtime. You have to suspend your disbelief a bit for the fairy tale to work.

Sorry, but it's not okay to assassinate other characters so you can justify one character that you like. That's my main beef with Maleficent: I can only enjoy it in the mindset of "I'm watching Villain propaganda right now." And let's be honest: that actually makes it even better. I love unreliable narrators.

Deep down inside, Huey knew his brothers didn't mean it when they made these comments. Or, at least, that's what he always tried to convince himself so that he wouldn't get too upset or hung up on them. But the reality of it was, it hurt him a lot. Being the oldest, Huey always just wanted to be of use to somebody, especially to his younger brothers, but as they got older, there was more of a disconnect between Huey and his other two brothers. Growing up moving house to house with Uncle Donald due to his financial issues, having to help Uncle Donald deal with said financial issues since he was a lone parent, made Huey gain a sense of responsibility, and maybe he grew up faster than he was supposed to. Huey was alright with that, because in his mind, he felt that he could still have fun and enjoy himself like a "normal kid" would do. Della coming back in the picture, and them moving in with Uncle Scrooge definitely took a lot of weight off of Huey's shoulders, but between all of the dangerous adventures the family would embark on almost weekly, it was hard for Huey not to step up and be the "adult" of the group at times. There's nothing wrong with that, right?

Except when Dewey would say that Huey would almost obsess over the idea of being the oldest triplet by 3 seconds, and Webby would make comments of Huey "living out of a book" rather than just living day by day, experiencing life as it comes along. Now, Huey always disagreed with this perspective of himself, and for good reason. He wasn't obsessed with being the oldest, he actually had experience being the oldest dealing with Dewey almost always putting his life in danger, and getting Louie out of whatever sticky situation he couldn't get himself out of.

But the more Huey tried to disagree with Webby's point about his "over usage" of his Junior Woodchuck Guidebook, the harder it became to find good reasons to argue against it. Sure, the Junior Woodchuck Guidebook offered a worldwide viewpoint of survivor skills, and knowledge about history, mysteries and the way the world functions, but there were times where Huey was disappointed from his usage of the book: Whether it was debunking things that were eventually proven true, denying the own historical research he had (granted, it was very outlandish and if one did not experience it with their own eyes, it would be hard to believe), or not being able to function without being able to use it. That's what really struck out to him when he did the Senior Woodchuck challenge a few months back, how anxious he had gotten once he wasn't able to go through the course with his book on hand. Deep down inside, Huey knew that he could've fared well in the challenge had he not gotten so caught up in not being able to have his Junior Woodchuck Guidebook on hand, but having it with him was what he was used to. In a way, it provided a sense of security for him, especially when facing the unknown, which was undoubtedly his biggest fear.

But maybe, it wasn't normal for him to have reacted the way he had when he was told he couldn't even do as much as make eye contact to his book during the competition. Other past competitors, especially Violet, seemed to fare well without it. So why couldn't he? Maybe he wasn't as good as a woodchuck as Violet, but he definitely knew in his heart that he had the rules of the Guidebook memorized in his brain as if it was implanted into it. So why couldn't he go, I don't know, maybe 2 or 3 hours without it?

That's when Huey decided to do some research.

Of course, his first resource was from the Junior Woodchuck Guidebook, but it didn't exactly deliver the answers that he personally needed. One thing about Huey, that all of the adults in his life have credited him for time and time again, is that when he's looking for answers, he always knew directly what kind of response he wanted, and he wouldn't allow himself to stop until he gets that desired response. So when the Junior Woodchuck Guidebook failed him, he went to the source he almost hated the most: The Internet.

Now Huey knew that the Internet had a tendency to overcomplicate, or overexaggerate certain things, but for some reason, when Huey found a certain answer, it almost resonated with him.

The keen interests, and liking a strict daily routine struck out to him the most. Huey never thought anything of them, but now seeing those words on a screen, linking to autism, a developmental disorder, made Huey put them into a whole new perspective. Made him put his whole personality in a new perspective, even.

Huey was used to other kids telling him that he was different, an outsider, an "old man in a child's body". But hearing that from a Doctor? Huey wasn't sure if he was ready for that kind of reality. Yet, at the same time, if this was something that Huey actually had, he wanted answers, and he knew that if he didn't reach out to a Doctor and get those answers, all he would do is obsess over the thought of it, and get even more anxious and stressed.

His research online told me that while there weren't any medications that were prescribed for autism as it's not something that can be treated with medication, there is therapy available for it. Huey remembered Uncle Donald and his Mom having Louie start to go to therapy for his anxiety attacks, but he also remembered how they reacted when they finally realized something was wrong with Louie.

Now, don't get him wrong: Uncle Donald and his Mom were two of the best parents that a kid could have, especially a kid growing up in the conditions that he and his brothers did. Huey knew that no matter what, they loved their boys with all of their hearts, and will do anything to make sure they're okay. But when Louie started having his anxiety attacks, it was as if a light switched, and things went from 0 to 100 rapidly. Constantly checking on Louie, not allowing him much personal space, almost treating Louie as if he was 5 years old again. Huey knew that this was only out of love, but Huey could also sense Louie's growing annoyance with it and imagined himself being annoyed as well if he constantly had the two breathing down his neck. Even in times when Louie would call them out for it, it wasn't long before they were right back at it again.

At the same time, Huey knew that he needed some adult to accompany him if he were to get diagnosed, as minors weren't allowed to go to appointments without the presence and permission of an adult. And Huey knew that at some point, his Mom and Uncle Donald would have to know, if they didn't find out themselves.

But what if they didn't have to know right now? What if Huey had another adult figure accompany him to the appointment, found out whatever answers he needed and worked through them, and then once he was ready, tell his mom, Uncle Donald, Uncle Scrooge, his brothers, Webby, and whoever else needed to know?

The idea sounded good in theory, but he definitely needed a plan of attack, especially since Della and Uncle Donald were the only ones who were legally on his documents. He also needed to figure out who he felt comfortable with taking him.

Huey already knew Uncle Scrooge was a hard pass. Not that he didn't trust him, because he did, but the only experience Scrooge had with raising and taking care of children was occasionally baby sitting Uncle Donald and his mother as kids, and Huey didn't know how exactly he'd handle the situation at hand and didn't want to risk it. Beakley, on the other hand, had tons of experience with raising and caring for Webby on her lonesome, but would also probably encourage him to confide in his parents about it, if not telling them herself. So another hard pass.

That's when another idea came to Huey's mind, and he almost immediately ran out of the mansion to find the source.

"So you... want me to attend your doctor's appointment with you?" Fenton asked.

"Please," Huey begged, "You're the only person I trust with this."

Kaoru&Toshiya Interview  BURRN!! October 2020 1/2

'Ochita koto no aru sora' was released as the band's first digital single ever. In the middle of what it seems to be nightmarish situation in which they can’t predict at all what’s lies ahead , what are the hopes and emotions that these 5 people put into this song? Text by You Masuda

At midnight on August 3rd, DIR EN GREY's latest single 'Ochita Koto no aru Sora' was released through digital distribution. Half a day before this, on 2nd afternoon’s, this magazine had the opportunity to talk to Kaoru (guitar) and Toshiya (bassist). Following the 'TOUR 20 SOGAI’ that was scheduled for this spring, the two-night performances 'The Insulated World-The screams of Alienation', which were supposed to be held on July 23 and 24, at Pia Arena MM, a large venue newly established in Yokohama, were also cancelled. However, this latest song with such a meaningful title was delivered as a promised.

Completed by Josh Wilbur as a mixing engineer, this song should be the starting point for a new direction for the band. On the other hand, the flow of their live activities has been cut off. However, even if they are under such a strange situation, I felt objectivity and calmness that differs from resignation in their words. -I think the situation is different so far from the usual single release timing. When it comes to digital-distribution only releases, things like booklets or extra DVDs are no involved in the process. Kaoru: No, it was supposed to be like that, but this is what we are doing right now. Besides, we are  making an special package for Pia Arena (a packaged version of the same single that will be sent to ticket purchasers who didn’t want a refund due to the cancellation of the two-night performance at Pia Arena MM). Toshiya:  So, in the end, the result is the same thing. Kaoru: It feels like (the idea of) that kind of work (packages) is something that we pursued later so that’s why the talk about if we should do a photoshoot for it or not came out. -I see. This time, the first digital distribution only release was made. It was the result of reassuring the release of new songs at this time, right? Kaoru: That’s right. A digital release is probably the best way to get it on time. Toshiya: In a sense, it's also a new initiative. I always thought the time for us to release something in this this way would come. I couldn't predict when that would happen. But now, at this time and under these circumstances, I feel like a digital release is a very rational thing. On the contrary, if it was not this time, maybe we wouldn’t had known when the right time was to give it a try. -Then, this situation made it happen. In the first place, surely the song ‘Ochita koto no aru sora’ was planned to make its debut at the two-night performance in Yokohama (Pia Arena), After that, you have planned to release it around July, right? As a result, the fact that the performances were cancelled seems to have changed the implications a bit. K: Originally, the flow/world of ‘The Insulated World' was supposed to be finished in those two days, and we were heading to a new path from there, but the lives that were supposed to be the precursor for that, disappeared. So, as a result of that, it feels like the new single will be released while the previous flow is still going on. Of course, just because the tours and live performances that were supposed to be held are gone doesn't mean we can't make new ones, however, but you could say that the way to look at their flow has changed. Well, actually, about those two live shows (PIA ARENA MM), we may try to do them again someday in the future. -But in fact, just because a new flow is about to begin, even if these so-called revenge performances are done in the future, at this point, the things that you wanted to do might have changed. K: Yes. Because I don’t think of them as performances that had a date change. Over time, the songs we want to play will change. We actually talk about that. As expected, I can't say anything about it yet (laughs) -At the same time, the single. I think the way we look at the ‘Ochita koto no aru sora’ will also change. T: It will change naturally. But it can’t be helped, and I don't think it's a bad thing. No matter what kind of work it is, it’s something that gets out of our hands at the moment that we put it out for the world. From that moment, I think it will change depending on the moment that people listen to it and how they feel connected to it. -For the two-night performance in Yokohama, the set list was broadcasted in real time on your official channel of Youtube. The last song of the 2nd day was ’SUSTAIN THE UNTRUTH'. I think that the fans that we were watching it should had listened to it while imagining ‘what kind of atmosphere will have the end of this performance?’. K: I don't think you could imagine what kind of live it was supposed to be even if you tried to (laughs). However, to reveal something at that live…. If we could had done these live, there was no announcement planned after the performance. We had no plans to do a tour beyond that, and there was nothing new to announce at that time. As a result, it only became possible to announce the single properly at that time. -The moment in which the flow from 'The Insulated World' was completed after the two-night performance, the growing curiosity would be “what’s next?”. If nothing is announced, that’s going to make people talk (speculate) about that, right? T: Hahaha. For sure. K: Well, but it was like “but there is nothing! (to announce)’, right? (laughs), But well, we are just about starting the album production. It’s just that we can't announce anything because we haven't decided when we are going to announce it yet. T: But that’s already the greatest implication, right? -For sure. Anyway, the fans have no choice but to use their imagination. Also, a song with such a meaningful title such as ‘Ochita koto no aru sora’…what kind of song it it? Is the kind of song that is ahead of ‘The Insulated World 'and 'The World of Mercy'? Could you say that this song suggests the musical direction you are going to move on? K: Well, we don’t know yet. It's just a song has been completed to be single. It starts from there but who knows what will happen in the future? -In other words, it's better to think of it only as a single song, right? K: Yes. At this point, that’s what it is. -Kaoru, you said in an interview published in 'BURRN! JAPAN VOL 16’done before the completion of this single that I have no choice but to imagine how the music would be from the title. You used the mysterious words “a modern/ a song according to the current times” as way of teasing me. K: I did say such a thing, didn’t I? (laughs) -I had no idea of what that meant, but from the impression of the title, I imagined a slow song that felt dark and heavy. However, when I actually got to listen to it, I found out that it’s not like that at all. It’s a song that doesn’t fit in your common format or a standard song that has gone through a process of changes. Although there are many developments parts and just a few repetitions, it feels like all these the elements are tightly packed in these 3 minutes. Pointing out that it’s a song that debunks the theory I made, I wonder what did you mean with “a song according to the current times/modern”? K: What I wanted to point out when I said that it’s that the high point of the melody(chorus) isn’t the only outstanding thing about the song. Usually there is one high point in the song, usually in the middle of it and a few other highlights during it. That’s what I think that I meant when I say a “modern song” (laughs) -What were your first impressions when you heard the song, Toshiya? T: I don't remember the impression I had when I first heard it. Of course, the song itself has changed a lot since that moment. However, it did change following the flow of DIR EN GREY at the same time in a natural way. I don’t know how to say explain it properly but, I think that it feels like a song that was composed while using limited components very effectively. It’s a very interesting song composed with creativity and originality. -The fact that it’s a song composed with the minimum necessary parts, including the the catchy part makes it interesting and intertwined, isn't it? T: That's right. So, while adding and subtracting parts, it created a good shape for the song. I think that’s very interesting. -In a sense, I feel that it also connectss with "CLEVER SLEAZOID", which is recorded in a new version this time. K: What do you mean? -At that time, that song was also the beginning of a new flow for you, building up the song until a high point. Moreover, there was a compactness in each part that were intertwined in a functional way and finished without needing to repeat parts more than the necessary. That's why I felt there was some intention behind these two songs lined up together in this way. K: Ah, I see. T: But that’s reading too much into it (laughs) K: Actually, before the main song of the single was completed, I've already arranged it, this 'Clever Sleazoid'. “I wish we could live in really safe circumstances. Rules for live might be different, but I definitely want to try it soon” Toshiya -Oh really? What made you decide to re-record this song at this time? K: Somehow, the lyrics…. T:  As he (Kyo) wanted to sing them in Japanese... K: Yes. English is mixed this time as well in the lyrics, but at that time the lyrics were all in English. (Note: In the original song, only one line in Japanese was included in the end). He wanted to sing it in Japanese, we thought we should try it. T: This was... I think it was in France. We had already decided to do it during the European tour from January to February. That's why I remember the time when we were rehearsing it in France. K: Yeah, that's right. T: We raised the tempo a little, change the rhythm, and try to match it together.  It was like… ‘how does it feel like this? ‘Or like that?’ We were kind of checking the atmosphere that it would create (for the song). - The single "Clever sleazoid" was released in 2005. At that time, even from the American label side, the lyrics were requested to be made in English. That’s something that might had cause Kyo feel disappointed. Also, using the English language did not change the way people accepted you in Europe and the United States. So it might me something that created a feeling of discontent. By the way, this song hasn't been on the set list so much in  the last years. K: That was just a coincidence. -It was a little surprising that it wasn't included in the set list for the two-night performance in Yokohama (PIA ARENA). T: Yeah, for sure. K: If we would had put it in this time, you just can’t play the old version. It's just like that. (When the setlist of PIA ARENA was broadcasted in Youtube) -I agree with that. There are many things I would like to ask about the lyrics of this song now that are done in Japanese, and of course, the lyrics of "Ochita koto no aru sora", but this time, Kyo seems that won’t accept interviews about the lyrics. Fans have begun to search for the lyrics of "Ochita koto no aru sora" since the short version of Youtube was released for the first time. The words "August 6th Morning" appear in the lyrics but is the reason of this the continuation of the story that is told in the song “Riyuu” (Song from 'Macabre',released in 2000, the lyrics start with the words "August 5th")or is it pointing out the date when the atomic bomb was dropped in Hiroshima? When the video clip was released, it seemed more natural to interpret it like the latter, because it includes images related to war scenarios. I don’t really want to compare your answers here but, how do you both interpret it? K: Mmm, I think that it’s like something that is restricted, like being trapped in something where you can’t see anything. That kind of feeling. To tell the truth, Kyo told me something like “this is the feeling of it” but, it seems that at some parts, the current situation has also been included. The other day, following the cancellation of the Pia Arena performances, there was a talk event for people who purchased VIP tickets, and this same thing was said there right on the spot. “It’s not unrelated to this situation right now”. -Even if he originally wanted to write about other things, does this mean that this situation has affected it (the lyrics)? K: It seems so. -What do you think of this, Toshiya? T: I don't really try to interpret the lyrics in detail, however, I was wondering if this song was a continuation. I feel the lyrics these days are all connected even if they come from different directions. Also, I basically think of all his lyrics and songs in terms of melody. So, I didn't scrutinize the meaning of the lyrics or anything like that, for me it is like a sound. -Saying so, I can't go asking any further (laughs) In fact, I myself feel that there is a continuation in that sense. I think there should be a connection with "The World of Mercy". What about the title itself, “Ochita koto no aru sora" (“The fallen sky or the sky that has fallen”)? Does this mean that a sky has fallen? Does that mean that you yourself or something has fallen in the past? Initially, I felt it was the first option but now seeing the story, it seems most likely to be the latter. K: I think it could be both things falling, right? But, I think that it’s ok for each person to decide how they do perceived to the lyrics. -I feel like the suffocating feeling as if the sky was falling, overlaps somehow with the current situation. K: Yes. However, when you use “koto no aru”, it means that you have already experienced it. So, in the sense still…. T: I’m not really sure about it. K: I don't feel like the person who wrote the lyrics wants to say "this is it" clearly. In a way, if it were something that wants to be clear, it would be explicit in the lyrics. Rather than that, there is a part in which what is writing is daringly blurry. After all, I don’t think I like explaining the meaning of the words because explaining will weaken the meaning. Isn’t it stronger if everything is in the shape you wrote it? -Yes. I would like to ask Kyo again about this matter sometime after. However, what about the link between the content and the video clip with the lyrics? For example, among those which are known, as  "VINUSHKA" (included in "Uroboros" released in 2008) from the video, it is natural that some people interpret is as "This is a song about the atomic bomb, isn't it? However, it is not a materialization of the lyrics, but rather an answer to the song from the director of the video’s side. The video of "Ochita koto no aru Sora" is directed by Keita Kurosaka, who has worked on "Agitated Screams of Maggots" and "Rinkaku"as well. This time, you asked Mr. Kurosaka to do it because…...? K: First of all, the actual question was who could make the clip. So, it started with looking for a director. It was the same as always, this time, after all, it’s hard to come up with new ideas when it comes to select people for doing it. This time, it’s not directed by Kondo (Hiroyuki: the video director who has worked on many of their video clips) because the previous clip has not been completed yet (laughs). If he hasn’t finished that, we can’t ask him for a new one. So, we talked to Mr. Kurosaka, with whom up until now we have worked together with animation stuff but, as there were also people who took pictures and footage, we decided to mix them up. -So that was the reason why you didn't ask Mr. Kondo? The full version of ‘'The World of Mercy' video clip isn’t out yet… K: It's not finished. It hasn't been done yet, it's true. But….aren’t we a little weird? Somehow, normally, we should be angrier. Actually, I was angry but even so, it wasn’t done yet (laughs) -He is a person who thoroughly goes digs in the content. The video will be  exceeding the 10 minutes as well as the length of the song. However, until now, the video for 'The World of Mercy' has only being shown to our eyes in its limited version. T: We also have seen only that as well (laughs) K: We haven't seen anything more than that. We've only seen the short one, so with those, we still don't get the big picture of the video. That’s why we haven’t been able to do some exchange of opinions like ‘isn’t it really different?’ -That's too bad.Isn’t it something like (the situation) of La Sagrada Familia? T: Isn’t it? (laughs) After all, it seems it’s hard for Kondo to put everything together, because there are too many feelings or enthusiasm towards DIR EN GREY. I’m acting as his spokesman (laughs). But well, I’d like to ask you to do it faster (laughs) (Next part)

 Despite the countless studies debunking the moon cycles relation to the bleeding cycle, I beg to differ, and my study specifically honors the reality of the relationship between my womb cycle and the lunar cycle.  

 The archetype of the moon in nature shows the reflection of the sun exposing the dark. In astrology, the moon is symbolic of the mother, the home (cooking, gardening, atmosphere), ancestral land/culture, reactions, and feelings respectively. In astrological houses, the 4th house which governs that of the moon, as well as the womb, is before the house of Leo representing children, joy, entertainment, pleasure, and performance respectively. Before the female can produce a child, her egg must plant itself inside of her and be re-absorbed by the body as the lining of the uterus sheds through the vagina, also known as menstruation. The menstruation cycle is repeated every month for an average of 28 days. The lunar cycle, similarly, is repeated every month for an average of 29.5 days.

Menstruation takes place for about 7 days while the moon changes phases every 7.4 days. The correlation between both synchronistic durations have been studied for centuries and even holds meaning in ancient civilizations, although we must keep in mind that contraceptives and other means to stop periods long-term exist and thus will alter this study case by case.

 The moon sign and phase that falls on the first day of the cycle holds importance in by which vital information is being shown to the woman (relating to her inner life). For example the signs element and modality may explore the current feelings of the woman or what she desires. In my case when my period followed through on waxing gibbous Libra moons, this led me to follow my own symbology as it stands with them both.  My feelings about the lack of nurturance received as a child and growing up was pushed to the background because it was too difficult to innerstand and thus I chose to ignore it. I believe that Libra was presenting just how imbalanced my inner life was, being that I barely received or gave physical affection to anyone. In my natal astrological chart, Libra sits on the cusp of the 8th house. The 8th house in the astrological houses governs intimacy, shared resources, exchanges (whether through sex, the mind, or monetary), death, and transformation respectively. I also natally work with Venus in Capricorn opposite moon in Cancer, which is the push and pull between what you need and how you receive it. Oftentimes oppositions can show struggle, in my case between how I wish to give and receive affection and my feelings inside. Also with moon square Saturn being one of the two tightest aspects in my chart, my moon was stuck between a rock and hard place.

 Introduction of study: Recent research on the communication of affection has begun to illuminate its implications for mental and physical health. Specifically, when compared to non-affectionate people, self report studies have indicated that highly affectionate people are less suscep-tible to depression and stress, and endocrine studies have shown that highly affectionate people have more differentiated 24-hour cortisol rhythms (a pattern indicative of adapt-ive physiological stress management).
