Apropos of nothing, here's my personal headcanon in regards to Mario and Luigi's surname.

Now, it's been generally announced and accepted that the brothers' last name is "Mario," shackling them with the somewhat awkward full names of "Mario Mario" and "Luigi Mario." My take on this is that the family's original last name was "Marianetti" (likely coming from the more common "Marinetti"). This name was changed to "Marionetti" when the boys' grandmother came over from Italy. (A common occurrence in record keeping at immigration at the time. Someone probably had bad handwriting and smudged a pencil stroke somewhere. It happened in my family for sure).

In Brooklyn, their father went by the last name "Marionetti," which ended up shortened to just "Mario," as oftentimes he would be addressed by his surname only. (Think, "Hey, Mario! Get over here!" as opposed to "Hey, Marionetti! Get over here!")

So, the boys are born and get their names. (Their father's middle name was Mario, and so our Mario, being the oldest, inherits his father's middle name as his first name. Luigi's name maybe comes from the middle name of some uncle who is long out of the picture).

So we have "Mario Marionetti" and "Luigi Marionetti." Which, their surname being a mouthful, gets shortened to "Mario" more often than not, just like their father. And thus we end up with "Mario Mario" and "Luigi Mario," culminating in the "Mario Brothers."

hello! thank you! and no this is a very fair question considering kon’s pov is (conveniently) distracted when this goes down. i went a bit more in depth here about why bart realizes in this moment but kon doesn’t, but the gist of bart’s realization is that he says “hi, tim” and this loopy, supposedly random civilian immediately says “names,” which is exactly how robin reprimands them every time they use one of their names in the field, and hey come to think of it this random civilian on a roof is kinda robin-shaped—

“Shit, okay,” Bart says, and a moment later he’s crouching next to Tim. “Okay. Okay. Hi, Tim.”

Tim mumbles something while Kon is listening to the whine of sirens down the street, and Bart does something very un-Bart-like, which is freeze for almost a whole second.

“He’s said a few names”—like Kon’s name, and Bruce, which Kon can’t think about right now or he might do something stupid like go hunt down Mr. Wayne and drop him in the middle of Antarctica so Tim never has to apologize for anything ever again—“because he’s high on an extremely fucked-up hallucinogenic. Just focus on keeping him physically secure.”

“No, he literally said—” Bart cuts off, eyes widening. “Oh. Oh. Never mind.”

and then bart realizes that whatever’s going on here kon doesn’t know and bart is like mfjdhdhdASDKFJ 🤐🫡

In case anyone else has the brain worm that makes them want exact details anytime people talk numbers, in Too Much Birthday the offer to buy Kendall out says that he has 12,904,663 shares of Waystar (worth ~2bil at $156/share), so assuming he didn't sell any stock after that and also that Shiv and Roman all had an equal stake, which the show implies, that means that when they sell the company at $192/share in the finale, each of the siblings gets just under $2.5 billion, half of it in Gojo stock, not counting whatever they inherit from Logan.

ooooh. we got an apartment!!!

the house isn't completely finished yet so we can't move in until April. we'll have to figure that out. but that's fine. it's in the town where my husband works! which is amazing.

I wasn't at the viewing but I saw pictures. #it's a ground floor apartment which we wanted. it's near some shops. it's a 30 minute walk to his work #I'm just. ahh I'm so happy that we found something #the area looks good on google maps #we're signing the lease on Tuesday :) I'll get to see it then. so if it's horrible we won't take it obviously. but like I said it looks #nice and my husband said it's nice so #so we'll probably have to move back in with his parents for two months and have our stuff in storage #but that's okay #we'll also have to buy the kitchen appliances and everything. which isn't ideal. but it's fine #and everything will be new!! it'll all work! it won't be old and disgusting and awful!! #and there's definitely not an old lady who has lived there for 40 years and thinks she gets to decide how everyone else lives :') #and it's. kind of a new start. it's a 30 minute drive from here. not far at all but it feels very far to me (not in a bad way) #it's closer to a city too. not so close that it'd bother me but definitely nicer if we want to go there. which might be good I think #I'm tired of living in villages. everyone is so fucking close-minded and they know everything about you and. yeah no it's not for me. took a #while to realise that but. yeah. not doing that again. small towns are not that different but it IS definitely different #anyway guys I'm so relieved 😌😌😌 #personal
