peter, marlene, and sirius were part of chess club.

peter actually enjoyed it and was one of the best members at it. was sort of the leader of the club, organised the competitions and won almost every time. has his own personalised chess set (made by marlene) and got the club to start playing a mix of wizarding and muggle chess, since that's what he grew up playing

sirius joined on a whim when they were trying to talk to peter about a prank idea but peter had to go to chess club so sirius just decided to join to continue the conversation. but they carried on going cause they kept getting flirted with by so many guys there and were fairly good at it

marlene joined after sirius told her it was 'a secret gay club' and she wanted to find a gf. it was not and she did not. but she stayed and started actually liking chess, being pretty good at it, mostly loved making chess sets for the club

#making my kins be part of chess club cause i was #although i joined because the teacher in charge was one of my favourites and i got to skip lunch queue and i kept thrashing everyone #i showed the teacher dhmis during chess club and i think he got scarred... #peter is good at it cause he's amazing at maths and strategy and played all the time as a kid #sirius because they're naturally super smart and regulus made them play quite often (although he always beat them) #and marlene just... is. she's not that smart in terms of maths and stuff so she was pleasantly suprised when easily beating half the club #she'll always prefer making the sets more than playing though (woodworker marlene <33) #marauders era #marauders #marlene mckinnon #sirius black #peter pettigrew
