idk if it’s a common improv term or something but brennan dropped the phrase “who gifted me being a hoe?” in the recent adventuring party in reference to ava mentioning that tula slept around when she was younger and i LOVE that phrase so so much i will be adding it to my d&d lexicon
I have a feeling we're about to get a different kind of parental neglect arc for our darlingest boy with tinges of looking for affection in all kinds of (right and wrong) places
wondering if captain hob struggling to fit in with the goblin court is because he has the same tragic backstory as rue and he’s a bugbear changeling oh it’s about parallels it’s about doing anything to fit in it’s about curbing your natural instincts to find somewhere to belong it’s about masking everyday and nobody sees you its about drowning in duty and following the rules so someone will maybe say a kind word one day it’s about seeing somebody else be braver than you and loving them for it and knowing yourself a coward its about rue having one supportive friend and that making all the difference it’s about the only root you have not feeding you it’s about being used and valued for what you bring them and not what you are it’s about your differences being scorned not celebrated it’s about looking monstrous on the outside and feeling monstrous on the inside too it’s about being alone in a crowd it’s about being alone in a forest but together for the first time it’s about not being good enough but loving them anyway without hope or expectation it’s about the lone scent of peonies in a maze full of flowers it’s about how formidable the truth seems it’s about humming him your song it’s about glances across the room and stumbling over your words it’s about how it burns you deeper and worse than anything you’ve felt before it’s about the gift of his name and at his most ridiculous you can’t help but love him
If Brennan... DARES to make a scene as sad as the moment where Evan is talking to the others in Misfits and Magic about leaving the school, but this time in ACOFAF, I will legitimately break down crying. I talk a lot about crying on the floor while talking about Hob and Rue and stuff like that but if I hear a sad piano starting to play when Brennan is about to talk, I will go cry into my mom’s arms.

as the the resident dropout enjoyer on my dash i have a question for you
I love Droput based on the free episodes and random scenes on YouTube. I am now trying to convince my partner to get Droput with me
What's the best episode to get someone into it if they've not heard of it before?
If they're a fan of ttrpg actual plays, dimension20 is your obvious in; just start with the first episode of whichever season matches their favourite genre. If they're not already a fan of ttrpg actual plays though, I wouldn't show them dimension20 to start with. There's absolutely no way I'd have gotten dropout for dimension20.
I got dropout for Game Changer and Make Some Noise, based on exposure to funny clips over many years. Between those, I think Make Some Noise might be a better onroad, because some episodes of Game Changer rely heavily on knowing who these people are (the very first episode, Lie Detector, is one million per cent less interesting if you think of the contestants as random people you never expect to see again in anything). I'd just start with your favourite Make Some Noise clips. My personal favourites are the pistachio being protected by its shell, and the font showdown.
If your partner is more into narratives than game shows, one of their shows like Kingpin Katie might be a better in. But they are, in the nature of collegehumor, somewhat goofy. Or there's the podcasts, which I think are free in their entirety on youtube? I might be wrong though. Just pick whichever one fits your partner's interests.
Why stop at fire, water, earth and air? We’ve got 14 other para-elemental, quasi-elemental, and energy planes floating around in the ether.
Start an Eiselcross-based EXU miniseries with “Ice.” Start some gothic western D20 side quest with “Salt.” because the first scene opens on spooky salt flats. Use your imagination, people!
Am I only saying this because I want to see a professional DM start a campaign with “Ooze.”? No, why do you ask?
