Have some more photos of Memory Joey with our roses!

There were so many firsts with creating this doll. First time doing a short hairstyle with flocking, using only acrylic paint for the clothes, doing an older character with a mustache and significant wrinkles, drawing on knuckles and fingernails (especially proud of that), and successfully sewing a waistcoat (and this shirt collar, I have never gotten it right the two other times I've sewn with this pattern)! Also my first completed BATDR custom. XD I have Audrey in the works and Betty as well, but Memory Joey is the first to be finished. Quite pleased with the turnout!

Sheeeeeee's ready! 💛💛💛

Inspired by the wonderful customs over at @sleepytoycollection , I made a SpongeBarb doll all my own! I started this doll way back in April, but I think I can say with some pride that she was worth the wait! Just like [the one STC made], I used a Boxy Girls Rainbow Goldie doll as the base, but I wanted to take the style of my doll in a slightly different direction than the doll I drew inspiration from.

I do hope it's alright that I'm posting my inspired doll here. All credit for inspo goes to the aforementioned, and I can take this post down if it's not okay. Regardless, I thank you for allowing us a look at your amazing collection of customs!

Took a little time to reorganize my doll display. Seeing as Valentine's Day is coming up, I brought out most of my pink and red dolls! It was nice to have Rainbow High come back out. They don't fit in with most of my other dolls, so I rarely display them, but they can be very cute. It's also the first time the Mermaze dolls are up, since they're rather hard to display (they fall over a lot). Of course I had to have a Draculaura out, given her birthday is coming up, so I picked my favorite from G3. It's been a while since Bonita Femur has been out, once again tough to display since those wings don't accommodate a doll stand, but I love her. She's so interesting as a doll! All the Sugarcoated EAH girls are here, nice to see them again after a little hair washing. And Lizzie, Queen of Hearts should be here for the holiday no? XD I really need to finish repairing my Way Too Wonderland dolls and Just Sweet Blondie, one day they will be less gluey so they can be displayed again!

That said, I'm probably most excited to have this girl back out, my beloved Jacy Masters. 💜 I know, a strange doll to have as a favorite, but look at her! She's so cute, and she's one of the first times I picked up a doll and said "she feels like me". Body diversity can be really meaningful, and her style is so fun! I'll be really curious to have her and G3 Catty Noir next to each other when she comes out, I wanna see if it's the same mold or slightly modified. My speculation is that they started with Jacy's body and tweaked it from there, since new body molds are expensive to make, but we'll have to see. Overall, I'm just happy to have my dresser looking nice again.

So I'm seeing stuff about a new hair fiber called Synatra, and I know nothing about it or it's quality but I would love to be enlightened if anyo6is familiar. I could only really find a reddit post asking for advice and saying it was like a mix between Saran and kanekelon. Otherwise, there is not a ton of texture opinion or how it holds to styling, color, or anything.

WIP near completion....

body paint and mods done jst need to seal her whole body so her paint doesnt scratch off which i did a weebit as couldnt wait and did photos lol no matter jst a touch up the seal her up then afew water colour pencil shade touch ups over that in purple to match her face then seal her up a last time and she be ready to get dressed!!

I haven't mixed typography with my doll photos before, but I quite like how this turned out. So we've got a quote from Henry and from Audrey, written in the same font as Joey's handwriting at the beginning of BATIM, and it's a photo of Joey and Alice juxtaposed with the signpost text from BATIM Chapter 3. There's a lot happening here, but I think it makes for an interesting picture. It can have a lot of meanings!
