Another month, another flea market visit!

I found 2 more G2 ponies!!! I love this gen of mlp a lot, they look so pretty :D

I got that one guy doll to steal his clothes. His shirt is very tacky but i like it :3 i found some stuff for the dollhouse too and a pair of boots (still have to try those on some dollies)

Ocean - Her dolls are mostly late 90s barbies from when she was a kid. Most of them are hand-me-downs from Constance or secondhand from garage sales (bought using Ocean's lemonade stand money), because her parents didn't want to give into the capitalistic nature of buying barbie dolls for their daughter. She also has a couple special ragdolls her mother made for her (again, they're big on making instead of buying) as a kid. She keeps her dollies tucked away neatly in a box in her closet, and only pulls them out when she regresses.

Noel - The type to collect dolls! He likes fashion dolls and BJDs. He has a couple on stands on a self in his room, but only 4 or 5. I don't see him as a huge collector, mostly an admirer. He has his old childhood barbies (60s and 70s barbies from his mother's childhood) in a bin somewhere for safekeeping. He has one really well taken care of one on his shelf, wearing that one famous sparkly black dress with the rose and the gloves. Definitely also has the original gen 1 draculaura in perfect condition on display.

Ricky - He gets cat themed monster high dolls and customizes them to be the Zolarian Catwomen! She sews them little outfits, reroots their hair, paints the faces and stripes and other details - everything! They keep them on a display in his room.

Penny and Ezra - They both share the dolls they have! Ezra like to collect the more "creepy" types of dolls, and Penny likes how detailed and pretty older porcelain dolls are. They also have a few barbies and puppets, of course. I see Ezra as more of a doll kid and Penny as more of a stuffed animal or LPS kid, with the exception of when she regresses. She absolutely loves her dolly when she regresses.

I learned the phrase thru a Dolly Parton song of the same name, but I think it’s pretty common in the south US !! it basically means what it sounds like - a person who likes to put a lot of effort into their appearance (most associated with femme gender expression), and takes pride in it, but because they are a country person all their effort is taken as “pretty with no brains” :,)

so as a country person who really likes being hyper femme and puts hours into their clothes, makeup, and hair - and who has been labelled “shallow and dumb” because of it, despite being pretty smart, I find that I deeply identify with that !!

We don't know if you answer asks like this so feel free to ignore it, but recently we found a headmate from a long time ago who has their own separate innerworld and speaks of headmates who also were once there. As far as we know, we don't think we're polyfragmented, but we are unsure what this discovery means (if this is just some deep dissociated bit or a sidesystem, if that is what it is. And from what you’ve described, that’s very much a SUBsystem. you can have subsystems without being polyfragmented, it isn’t an exclusive thing. I’m not sure abt OSDD systems, but for sure you can have ‘normal’ DID with groupings like that outside of being polyfragmented.

You said SIDEsystens which is a completely different thing, that is exclusive to RAMCOA and is an entire system with its own subsystems completely disconnected from the main system.

For us we have the main system which we call the East system and that was who we’ve been for as far back as we’ve known before finding the other ones— we have layers, subsystems and many alters in it. Of which are cluster subsystems (aka multiple alters that always front with one another) and we have alter-with-alters subsystems!

For example:

Sabrina has a subsystem— child Sabrina, Angry Sabrina, Emotionless Sabrina etc, she presents as one alter but switches internally and has a little room for a headspace. She interacts with other alters in the system.

There’s the Sad Girl Trio subsystem with 3 alters called Cordelia, Dolly and Ghostie. They have higher amnesia barriers but they are also still within this system because our gatekeeper can still make them front or contact them etc.

In a sidesystem, completely separate (not even layers because the sidesystems have layers and their own organizations since they are made purposefully) we have only subsystems— a group of alters that focus on denying all trauma, a group of alters that are programmed to be unquestionably obedient, etc. there isn’t an alter that isn’t part of a subsystem or some hierarchy higherup group as well.

Oh gosh. Favorite songs. This is gonna make me feel old I fear...

1. Laid by James. This whole album is actually my go to album when I need to focus at work and drown out the world. I can put it on and get lost in the task quickly. There is just something about it that allows my brain to relax and dial in (at this point it's muscle memory I suppose). It's a bit obscure but it works for me.

2. Bridge over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel. This and Let it Be by the Beatles scratch the same itch for me. When I am anxious I put them on and they just sooth. I have a kid with anxiety and I have deliberately played Let it Be every time we are working on calming down to help the song have that mental reference. Music is powerful like that.

3. 9-5 by Dolly Parton. This always gets me going. It hits my social justice buttons and the beat of it gets you up and moving. Also it's Dolly Parton and who doesn't love Dolly. She's on my bucket list of singers I want to see in concert. Her music is compelling, tells straightforward stories and is relatable.

4. Musicals. I could listen to them all day. My family knows I am forever singing (oh so badly) a line from a musical in response to anything. Recently had a conversation with someone about how You've Got to be Carefully Taught from South Pacific almost shut down the show (Rodgers and Hammerstein stood their ground and the song remained, lyrics are still true today). But if I had to pick one...I know it is unoriginal but I am still not over Hamilton. I realize I am cheating by picking a whole musical but it's my post so I can do what I want!

5. Walking on Sunshine by the Bangles. That's my go to for upbeat pop music from the 80s (oh yes, proud Gen Xer here) when I just want to pick a song and let the algorithms take it away and play me all kinds of peppy cheery stuff.

6. Fire and Rain (listen I already picked a whole musical. You know I don't follow rules.) This is my song if I need to cry. It's hard to hold back when you listen to the lyrics. James Taylor's voice is smooth and the pain is real.

Growing up my parents sang all the time in the house. I could go on for hours about how their choices influenced mine. Music is 100% built into the fabric of my memories. Songs are visceral ways to bring back loved ones who are gone to me. My dad would walk around singing, I can hear him in my mind and see him teasing me to get me to join in even as I rolled my eyes at him. My mother is a gifted self-taught pianist who used it as her stress outlet.

EYYYYMOSTER HIGH IS BACK WITCHESSokay adult enby obcessed with dolls cringe ahead.I am so excited for the return, I LOOOOVE figures and dolls, especially ones centered around monsters and myths, so monster high reels me in like a sucker.I really dont draw many teens, but seeing the new box art for the dolls looking more teenage than mid twenties is actually kinda nice! I like a lot of the changes, Clawdeen, whos just always pretty much the best main character in previous gens, now she's more centeral and main character I'm sooo excited! This design is kinda a combination of her box art and doll art for the new series I love that she has glasses and freckles, and just the cutest little outfit, I did forego the chain on her belt and adding details to her belt but IDC i think ti looks fine without, it was too much for me with the pattern around it, needed to have a diffrent texture between her clothes and belt.Tried to draw her with a more teen body than I typically draw (<5% of my ocs are under 20.) and I'm pretty okay with it, I think maybe her face looks a little aged tho? lacking baby fat? IDK but I'm mostly happy with her, she's just sooo cute. If you're into MH lemme know what your fave character or doll is!! How have I never drawn my original bunny waifu in a bunny suit?I asked myself this while browsing my galley so picked her for my first Bunny Suit Art Jam 2022 held by @atomictiki (RIP his tumblr lol)  It's Peridot, the best design and most fun character in Puchi Carat according to me. I tried to mix in some of her original art style in making it a little more anime in the eyes and the white highlight is based directly on how they draw highlights in her official art. Anyway, I quite like this one! Hope I manage to get a couple more done for the month, but I'm taking a short holiday soon so that may interrupt that plan! I'll see what happens.

Okay I got another idea for Bunny suit jam by atomictiki, a character who's been drawn in one a few times, has a figure of her in one too, but I wanted to do some sorta classic anime vibes.

One of my earliest childhood crushes I rememebr is Ryoko Hakubi, I never got far in the anime but she really grabbed my heart with a vice like grip, I love her english dub voice too, that kinda deeper sarcastic sound? love it, it's actually what inspired me to draw Ryoko, the fact that Eda has a simailir voice, caused me to remember my love for Ryoko.

Thinking about the spectrum of what cyborgs can be for a setting I'm working on. Noodling around with a bunch of related concepts.

Prosthetic Wearer - human with artificial accessories to replicate a more 'standard' body. sometimes for utility reasons(i,e; metal arm to grab stuff), sometimes for social ones(i,e; fake nose to stop ppl staring).

Assistive Device User - human with artificial accessories that are so integral to their life that they basically count them as part of their own body, but are NOT designed to mimic a normative body plan. (wheelchair users, glasses users, etc)

Body Modder - human who chooses to deviate from a normative body. includes both organic modification(hormone therapy, scarification) and inorganic(piercings, implanted chips)

Clone type 1(realistic) - human with DNA identical to someone else(see also: identical twin) (Dolly the Sheep)

Clone type 2(cartoon) - copy of someone grown in a big vat. usually "not a real person" whatever that means. (Commander Cody)

Cyborg Type 1(fancy prosthetics) - a human with body parts that have extra gizmos built in. sometimes started as disabled, but sometimes chose to replace standard parts to get the cool gizmos (Darth Vader)

Cyborg Type 2(a new cybernetic being) - a person who has human parts, and has robot parts, and isn't really either one. May have memories of one or more human lives, and also memories and traits like a computer, but isn't just 'a person with metal bits' OR 'a robot with flesh bits'(Motoko Kusanagi)

Cyborg Type 3(meaty robot) - a robot that also has some organic parts, but was never an unmodified human. may or may not be "a real person" depending on the setting. (The Terminator)

Bioroid - a robot that's assembled from 100% organic parts. usually looks like a human, but sometimes they're animals or monsters. (gen 3 synths from Fallout)

Android Type 1(indistinguishable from human) - a robot that's built to look like a human. no organic parts, but is designed to appear organic at first glance. (2B, Rick Deckard)

Android Type 2(loosely human shaped robot) - A robot that looks kind of like a human, but is obvious artificial. (C3po, V1)

Transformer - a robot that only looks human sometimes. (Optimus Prime)

Robot - a machine that passes some threshold of 'human-like intelligence' or 'personhood', (R2D2)

Humanized Object Type 1(Animism)- I don't know much about actual animist faiths, but I'm pretty sure their beliefs are somewhat relevant here. Just noting it as something to look into for future reference.

Humanized Object Type 2(projecting onto things) - it's an object, but you started treating it like a person. maybe you even gave it a name and drew a face on it. usually written as (Wilson the Volleyball, The Companion Cube)

Machine - just an object. maybe with some fancy functions. may 'think for itself', but only in a very simplistic way. Doesn't ask for civil rights. (a smartphone)

Representation of a Person - Paintings, Effigies and so on. Not people, but represent people (The Mona Lisa)

There's so much to explore.
