According to plenty of tweets in my feed these past few days, it sure seems like a lot of people can excuse stripping people of their reproductive rights—but draw a hard line at noise complaints.

Following Politico’s blockbuster scoop last week of the Supreme Court’s draft decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, people took to the streets. Pro-choice protests sprung up all across the country over the weekend, from DC to Baltimore to Oakland. But what has gotten folks most riled up is that the protesters took their outrage straight to the source: the steps of Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s and Chief Justice John Roberts’ houses.

Footage from various news outlets show that protesters, armed with raincoats and homemade signs with snappy, pro-choice slogans, gathered outside of the judges’ home to exercise their freedom of speech and assembly. While their anger and frustration were palpable, the protests were far from violent. Yet by the way some people have described the demonstrations outside Kavanaugh’s home, you would’ve sworn that the protesters ripped him and his family out of their beds and executed them in the middle of the street. (Spoiler alert: They didn’t.)

In a 13-second clip by Daily Signal news producer David Blair, you can see dozens of people standing outside of Kavanaugh’s house. They’re chanting, “We will not go back,” presumably to a time before abortions were safe and accessible.

According to Blair, this was “one of the scariest things I’ve ever witnessed.”

“This is an attempt at intimidation,” said Blair in an interview with Fox News, apparently clueless to the decades-long history of violent anti-abortion protests outside of clinics across America. “And I think it really says a lot, too, that the Biden administration is willing to absolutely let these Justices out to dry. They’re not going to say, ‘It’s not acceptable for you to go to somebody’s house and yell and scream.’”

But Blair underestimated the power of milquetoast white liberalism. At 9 a.m. this morning, White House press secretary Jen Psaki tweeted the following in response to the demonstration:

Everyone from the far-right to the center-left seems to be way more concerned about the optics of the protests than the systemic injustices that people are protesting against. We saw something eerily similar with the racial-justice protests in response to the death of George Floyd in 2020. Remember Tucker Carlson describing the Black Lives Matter protesters as a “mob,” warning his viewers that the protesters will “come for them”? Or Eric Trump describing them as “animals” during one of his father’s campaign rallies? (And despite only 3.7 percent of protests containing violence or vandalism, several Democrats, including Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, stepped forward to condemn the violence at the demonstrations)

Asking for civility in the face of systemic violence is playing right into the oppressors’ hand. If we spend all of our time policing how people protest, then, conveniently, nothing will get done to attack the root of the issue. It’s nothing more than an attempt to derail the public conversation surrounding reproductive rights.

According to experts, if the courts overturn Roe, people’s lives will be at risk. Miscarriages could be criminalized. Abortion providers could be sued. But above all, people would be forced to carry unwanted pregnancies. This clearly is a sacrifice that the Supreme Court’s conservative Justices are willing to make.

And if a Supreme Court Justice losing a few hours of sleep seems worse to you than people dying from the complications of an unwanted pregnancy, it’s time to reevaluate your priorities. And to Kavanaugh, Roberts, and any other Justices in favor of taking away people’s rights, if you can’t take the heat, stay out of people’s uteruses.

This is the continuation of my Captains and the Kings post.

Chapter V Additional cast: Perry King as Rory Armagh Terry Kiser as Courtney Wickersham Jane Seymour as Marjorie Chisholm Douglas Heyes Jr. as Kevin Armagh Cynthia Sykes as Claudia Desmond 

Story: Tom Hennessey dies and Joseph goes to Elizabeth Hennessey and declares his love for her, undiminished by the many years they have been apart. She reveals that Tom was the father of her son. They agree that for the sake of his presidential aspirations for his son, he will not divorce Bernadette. Joseph attempts to bribe Senator Bassett to withdraw his support of the Alien Contract Labor Act. When this fails, he resorts to blackmail. To preserve his honor and keep his family secret, Senator Bassett withdraws his support the only way he can see - by committing suicide. His letter to Joseph tells him that with his dying breath, he has cursed Joseph and all his family. Bernadette hires a private detective who gives her proof that Joseph is having an affair with Elizabeth. She then gives him an assignment to find proof of her suspicion that Elizabeth's son, Courtney Wickersham is actually Tom Hennessey's son. Bernadette confronts Elizabeth with the proof in an attempt to blackmail her into ending the affair with Joseph. This plan backfires when Elizabeth freely admits the truth and now that Tom is dead, she no longer cares if the secret is revealed. Joseph tries match-making with his son Rory and Claudia Desmond, the daughter of a business associate. Rory is smitten with Marjorie Chisholm and asks Courtney Wickersham to introduce them. She has a boyfriend and offers Rory no encouragement. When he continues to pursue her and because he is an Irish Catholic, Rory is severly beaten by her boyfriend and his Harvard classmates. (taken from here again) Thoughts: Bernadette and Elizabeth fight over Joseph, because the younger woman has discovered her feelings for him, yet the blackmail she had on her stepmother is naughty because all parties already know the truth. Though he has four kids, for Joseph mainly Rory counts and this Bernadette tells him one night drunk. Some years later, Rory was nearly dispelled from his school but his father got him back - and to Harvard where he is with his uncle Courtney and brother Kevin. Still, his father tries to get him together with Claudia Desmond but Rory has other plans with another young woman, Marjorie, at Harvard and takes a several beating from her boyfriend and his friends, just by being Irish. 

Chapter VI Additional cast: John Houseman as Judge Newell Chisholm Ann Dusenberry as Ann-Marie Story: Undeterred by the beating, Rory is relentless in his pursuit of Marjorie and she eventually falls in love with him. Both of their fathers are strongly opposed to the romance. Judge Chisholm doesn't want Marjorie to marry into an Irish Catholic family, and Joseph insists that Rory must marry an Irish Catholic girl for political reasons. Rory and Marjorie elope and are married by a Justice of the Peace. Courtney Wickersham and Anne-Marie Armagh are in love and they want to marry. Joseph has to tell Courtney that he is related by blood to Anne-Marie - Tom Hennessey was his biological father and Anne-Marie's grandfather. When they search for Anne-Marie to tell her, they are told that she rode off in a frenzy soon after returning home. Her horse returns without her and when they find her, she has suffered multiple injuries and is in a coma. Bernadette denies having told Anne-Marie that Courtney is a blood relative. Joseph and Elizabeth both feel intense guilt over the secret they kept and the consequences - they never see each other again. Rory and Marjorie are secretly and happily living together in New York when Joseph summons Rory to join him in London. (taken from here again) Thoughts: Rory still does his best to win Marjorie and well, it happens: they fall in love with each other, still knowing that their fathers wouldn't approve it. Kevin, however, avenges his brother and beats his brother's attacker to the hospital. For their sister Ann-Marie, it doesn't end good. She falls in love with her uncle Courtney who is in reality related to her. Unfortunately, she falls off her horse and remains in a coma. Joseph accuses Bernadette to have told their child the truth but Bernadette denies it. Meanwhile, Rory listens to Harry's love story and decides to just do what his heart says and marries Marjorie. They settle down while Rory's parents are on a trip through Europe. Desmond becomes the ambassador of the USA in London, and Joseph insists that Rory marries a Catholic girl, not knowing that his son has already wed Marjorie. Oh boy!

Chapter VII Additional cast: Lee Jones deBroux as Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt John McLiam as Robert Story: Joseph takes Rory to meet his rich and powerful friends who intend to "build their own president". Joseph insists that Rory must marry Claudia Desmond with an incentive of 20 million dollars or be disowned with no inheritance. Despite his intention to do so, Rory doesn't have the courage to tell his father about his marriage to Marjorie. Joseph returns home from London after learning of Rory's marriage by a letter from the Justice of the Peace and in a rage confronts Harry Zieff about hiding this information from him. America declares war with Spain and young Kevin Armagh joins Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders and goes to Cuba to join in the fight. Joseph meets with Judge Chisholm to discuss a plan to end Rory and Marjorie's marriage. Joseph offers him 10 thousand dollars a month to take Marjorie to Europe for 2 years. He has paid bribes to the Justice of the Peace and the court clerk to remove all evidence of the marriage from the official records. He has also prepared two forged letters to be delivered to Rory and Marjorie, each ending it with the other for personal reasons. When it is discovered that Kevin has gone to Cuba, Rory travels to Cuba as a "war correspondent" to find him and bring him home. When Rory finally finds Kevin, he has been injured in a sniper attack and he dies in Rory's arms. (taken from here again) Thoughts: Rory is not happy with how his father manages to dictate his life and realizes bitterly that for him only the money counts. He tells him so in London but can't admit to have married his college love, Marjorie. Still, Joseph finds out and takes his anger out on Harry but both only have the main goal in view: making Rory the first Irish president of the USA. However, soon the war between America and Spain begins and Rory thinks that the powerful friends of his father are behind it. Behind anyone's back, Kevin follows Teddy's army down to Cuba. When the family finally finds out, Rory manages to convince his father to let him go down there as well as a correspondent but as soon as he's there, he's within the war and included. After some asking around, he finally finds his younger brother and helds him until he dies in his arms. Rory is devastated. Meanwhile, Joseph tries to annule the marriage, even with Marjorie's Dad. As said, complicated. 

Chapter VIII Additional cast: Cliff DeYoung as Brian Armagh John deLancie as Timothy Armagh (son of Sean) Story: When Joseph offers Bernadette a drink before telling her of Kevin's death, she becomes paranoid and thinking that he is trying to poison her, she is apologetic and confesses she told Anne-Marie that she was related to Courtney by blood, but she couldn't have known that it would cause Anne-Marie's accident. After she is told about Kevin, she becomes hysterical and tries to throw herself out of a window. Subdued by Joseph, she says they are all cursed. Bernadette, an alcoholic with severe emotional problems and Anne-Marie, still in a coma, are both sent into care at Woodville. It's 1912 and Rory Armagh is now a senator, married to Claudia Desmond with four children and plans are under way for his presidential bid. Joseph's youngest son, Brian has his own financial empire as owner of Xavier Aircraft and Xavier Films. After Joseph suffers a heart attack, he asks Brian to step in as Rory's campaign manager. Rory and Brian go on a coast to coast campaign tour and begin winning multiple primary elections. Winning the Democratic nomination is almost certain for him. Rory receives a telephone call from Marjorie and he races to her for a passionate reunion. On his deathbed, her father confessed the plan to separate them and she explains it all to Rory. They are just happy that they have found each other again. Elizabeth dies soon after a visit from Harry, where he discovers that she still loves Joseph. Harry tells Joseph that he wants to retire and travel now that he is 70 and his Emmy is gone. The powerful financial organization that is backing Rory's bid for the Presidency summons Joseph to a meeting and asks him to have Rory endorse Woodrow Wilson for the Democratic nomination and settle for the Vice Presidential slot on the ticket. Joseph refuses, fearing that he won't live to see Rory elected president. Joseph telephones Rory to tell him that he no longer has the support of his powerful financial backers. Rory is happy with this news and expresses his intention as President to crush this elite group that uses it's power and money to influence and control world events for financial gain. Joseph cautions him to keep this plan to himself, because it would be suicide for him - and not just politically. Unfortunately, his father-in-law, Charles Desmond has listened in on this call. Joseph reconciles with his brother Sean and asks for the support of the Labor Unions. Sean agrees to guarantee the Labor vote and it is announced that American Labor endorses Rory Armagh for President. Rory takes the lead in the race for the Democratic nomination. Joseph receives a call from Harry, saying he is returning to America on the Titanic and will be back in time to vote for Rory. Joseph receives a final message from Harry delivered by a survivor whose life Harry had saved as the ship was sinking. With only two weeks left before the Democratic convention in Baltimore, Joseph's hopes and dreams for his son are over when Rory is shot and killed leaving his campaign headquarters in Philadelphia. (taken from here again) Thoughts: Well, here we are. Rory returns from Cuba, only to find Marjorie gone. Bernadette doesn't take it well when being informed about her son's death, and so she and her daughter go to a sanatory. After a heart attack, Joseph asks his youngest son Brian to help Rory with his campaign. Brian seems to be more his father's son, own companies and money, yet he helps and gets the shock of his life to find out that Rory is actually married to two women but for Rory only Marjorie counts and they reconcile. Still, he's married to Claudia and this marriage doesn't work. When Joseph's people decide to vote for Wilson, Joseph gets angry and steps out, only to speak with his brother Sean again - and to let the labour vote for Rory. After a meeting with Marjorie and the next stop in Philadelphia, Rory talks to Brian, yet at the moment a man in the crowd shots him from a close range and he dies in his wife's arms. Marjorie then goes to Joseph and he accepts their marriage finally. Meanwhile, Harry loses his life on the Titanic. In the end, Joseph is a broken man.

That’s a very long miniseries and I really liked it. Very recommended if you have once a lot of time. It’s around nine hours to watch.

In a tweet Jonathan Morris claimed the Prime Minister in Terror of the Zygons or Mawdryn Undead was Brenda Jones, Harriet Jones' auntie. I put this in 1975 (for less than a year) because why not. Ignore this if you think it's bad.

Actual dates of Kenneth Le Blanc and Unnamed Female PM are unknown, but are set in the UNIT audios between Power of Three (2012-2013) and DotD (2013).

The President given in 2004 is referred to by the nickname ‘Chuck’ in Cat’s Cradle: Warhead which combined with the fact Springsteen was the President in 2003 and ‘Norris’ succeeded them suggests that the 2004 President was Chuck Norris.

The President in 2006 was implied to be George W Bush based on Harriet Jones’s dialogue. He was previously stated to be President in 2000 (Which he hadn’t been in real life)

Clinton is stated to be President in both 1997 (by metaphor in Placebo Effect) and in 1999 (in Rosa). However both of these are less conclusive than Tom Dering’s direct appearances in Option Lock and and Millennium Shock (also 1997 and 1999) implying that the mentions in Placebo Effect and Rosa were merely off by 1-3 years.

In contradiction, Daniel Strunk is stated to be President in 2017.

This is resolved by having Strunk be Mather’s successor who’s term was also replaced when Faction Paradox remove Mather’s term from history.

The Faction Paradox novel ‘Head of State’ depicts a 2 term Democratic President named Samson who is succeeded by Matt Nelson of a newly formed Radical Party. They are subsequently assassinated by their VP, the sentient humanoid TARDIS Lolita (Who has also been War Queen of Gallifrey and Queen of the UK before, as well as having devoured the Eleven Day Empire). It’s unknown how long she served nor when beyond ‘Early 21st Century’. She (along with Matt Nelson and Samson) have been as a temporal aberration replacing Mather and Strunk before themselves being replaced by Obama and Trump following Lolita’s defeat in True History of Faction Paradox and the ending of the War in Heaven.

A 2000 Bernice Summerfield short story claims Hillary Clinton was US President at some point. However, these records are portrayed as suspect with Bernice questioning them herself and have been ignored for lack of a position to place Clinton into the timeline.

Inspired by one of @lizzy-bonnet 's wonderful posts about Elizabeth Murray (THANK YOU!), I decided to try and do some research to answer the question that had been bothering me (and probably only me!):

How old were the Murrays, when their youngest sister (Juliet) was born?

Let me start with quoting Douglas Starr: "Elizabeth and Laura and Wallace and Oliver and Ruth were old Archibald Murray’s children. His first wife was their mother. When he was sixty he married again—a young slip of a girl—who died when your mother was born. Juliet was twenty years younger than her half-family, as she used to call them." (Emily of New Moon).

So, here we go (my very own order):

I. Elizabeth Murray: about 26-27.

"Aunt Elizabeth was nearly seventy." [...] "You will be twenty-four your next birthday," said Aunt Elizabeth." (Emily's Quest).

So, let's say she is about 69-70 when Emily is 23, which would make her about 46-47, when Emily is born.

We don't know for sure how old Juliet was when she gave birth to Emily. Yet, her age might be guessed... at least, a bit.

Douglas tells 11 year old Emily: “I met her [Juliet] twelve years ago, when I was sub-editor of the Enterprise up in Charlottetown and she was in her last year at Queen’s." (Emily of New Moon). Queens is a two-year course, and if Juliet attended it right after Shrewsbury High School, she would be around 19 when she met Douglas and 20 when Emily was born.

Elizabeth also gives such an older sister's vibes. She rules the family and even orders Wallace to "leave this child [Emily] alone". (Emily of New Moon).

II. Wallace Murray: 23-26.

"Your Uncle Wallace might, seeing as he reckons himself the head of the family. He’s only got a grown-up daughter."

So, I would say, he is the second oldest (and a first-born son). He seems to think he is the head of the family, which would be understandable if he was the oldest son. There is not much more evidence, but I would say he might have been 1-3 years younger than Elizabeth (so, 23-26).

III. (or IV?) Oliver Murray: 19-25.

Not much evidence here, either, but one of Oliver's children - Andrew - is only a year or two older than Emily and another unnamed child (probably daughter) gets married, when Emily is 20: "Emily, just home from an interminable week's visit at Uncle Oliver's, where a cousin had been getting married" (Emily's Quest).

So, at least a couple of his kids are about Emily's age (which doesn't really prove anything, due to the fact his own father was 61, when his last child was born).

Yet, Oliver is old enough to have "bristly white moustache." when Emily meets him, so I would say he is probably older than Ruth. He seems to be in his early to mid 50s, when he meets Emily (so, 39-44, when Emily is born?). I think he is Wallace's younger brother (he doesn't have the importance of a self-proclaimed "head of the family").

I always thought that New Moon was going to belong to Andrew, not because he was the oldest son's male child, but because Uncle Wallace didn't have a son, only a daughter (and girls did not inherit anything then). On the other hand, Elizabeth ruled The New Moon, so maybe it was not the matter of gender...

IV. Ruth Dutton: about 22.

When Emily is about sixteen (the night she and Perry get caught "kissing"), we learn that:

"Ruth Murray," he said, "do you remember the story that got around forty years ago about you and Fred Blair? Do you?" [...] "When she was a girl of eighteen she had been trapped in a very ugly situation."

So, Ruth is about 58, when Emily is 16 (42, when Emily is born, and 22 at Juliet's birth). She seems to be a bit younger than Oliver (although not sure about it).

V. Laura Murray: 14-18.

She and Dr Burnley were believed to have been romantically involved with one another, before Beatrice Mitchell came along. Ilse was the same age as Emily and Dr. Burnley was 36, when she was born. Aunt Laura was probably around Dr Burnley's own age, perhaps few years younger, or older.

So I would say: 34-38, when Emily was born:

"Rhoda said once that Aunt Elizabeth hoped Dr. Burnley and Aunt Laura would make a match of it—which, you know means get married—but that is not so."

"Beatrice Mitchell—one of the Shrewsbury Mitchells. She was only eighteen when Allan married her. He was thirty-five." (Emily of New Moon).

It would make her the youngest. Actually, it fits her character: she seems meek, gentle, delicate and visibly younger than the rest.

She looks to be in her 40s, when she meets Emily for the first time: "She was almost pretty, with her delicate features and the heavy coils of pale, sleek, fair hair, faintly greyed, pinned closely all around her head." (Emily of New Moon).

Her hair doesn't turn white before the winter Emily is so sick: "Laura Murray, whose hair had turned from ash to snow that winter, went to her room and knelt down by her bed to thank God." (Emily's Quest).

So, that is how I picture The Murrays' ages!

Ok, the first chapter of my Alexia Ashford fic. Again, I would appreciate short reviews on whether it is worth continuing or not. I'm not mad if you say it sucks. I just want an honest opinion.

Chapter 1

December 12

What do you actually write in a diary? I guess I just write whatever comes into my mind.

My name is Samantha Blair, and I’ve been stationed at the Aurora Research Facility for about a month now. This place will be my home for roughly the next 11 months. I graduated two years ago with a PhD in chemistry. This is my new job. It wasn’t easy to get it. After all, there are only a few positions available in this facility. There are 12 of us in total, and my job is to analyze ice and soil samples. It’s summer here at the moment. The sun doesn’t set this close to the South Pole any more, and at night it only gets a bit dusky, which, admittedly, bothers me more than I thought it would. Doug* gave me this journal “so I won’t lose track of time.” I wonder if that will help. At least I can try.

December 13

Nothing interesting. After breakfast, I set about sorting the samples from the last research team and finding out which of them still needed to be analyzed and which didn’t. So the same thing I’ve been doing for over a week now. What were they thinking? “We’ll be gone soon anyway, let the next team take care of it?” After me, the deluge. Typical. Half of the samples are not properly labeled, and even for those that are, it takes forever to find out what has already been done with them. It’s all in the lab books, my ass. I can hardly do anything with the cryptic notes there if I manage to decipher the handwriting at all. On top of that, I have to pick the measurement data out of disorganized piles of paper. It was all planned differently. They were actually supposed to measure their own stuff, but towards the end of their stay, one device after another broke down. The devices are working again. Now, we’re supposed to carry out these measurements first and send them the results.

December 14

Sorting samples, searching for corresponding measurement data. Nothing new. Jeff gave me a new drill core. At least I was able to take a few measurements today.

As I was going about my usual business, John* arrived and said that we were going to be hit by a heavy snowstorm in the next few days. According to the weather data, the storm will last for several days, maybe even weeks. We have to prepare the station. So we spent the whole day outside moving equipment into storage rooms or fixating it. I’m still freezing.

Dark clouds have gathered. After so many days of sunshine, the darkness, if you can call it that, is a welcome change.

December 17

It’s been snowing since last night, and the snowfall is getting heavier, although it will be another 2-3 days before it really starts. David* expressed concerns about the dogs, but Marcus** said they don’t mind the little bit of snow. Quite the opposite. Huskies love this weather. Marcus looks after the dogs. He will know best. When I think about it, it occurs to me that we are probably one of the only stations left that still uses dog sleds. We also have snowmobiles, but Marcus always says the dogs are more reliable.

Later, we decided who should clear the paths and when. The work should continue if possible. However, if the storm gets too bad, the research buildings will remain closed until it subsides.

The howling of the wind gets stronger and stronger. Eerie. I have hardly slept a wink. At least I’m slowly making progress with the samples.

December 19

I spent half the day clearing paths. It is a Sisyphean task. As soon as I was finished, I had to start all over because everything was covered in snow again. And the worst is yet to come. If it goes on like this, I can forget about work for a while.

December 20

Jeff was on clearing duty today. He also said there was no point. After dinner, we agreed that we would only clear the paths to the important buildings, everything else would have to wait until the storm subsided. At least the dogs are having fun. And Lena. The fact that Lena is here is not a matter of course. Normally, students are not accepted for research stays. However, Lena has excellent grades, so she was selected regardless of the usual rules. At least, that’s the official reason. For those who believe it. Her father just happens to have a lot of political influence and a ton of money. It would be a true miracle if he hadn’t set the whole thing up.

She’s supposed to help me with the measurements, but that will have to wait until the samples are sorted and the storm calmed down. In the first few weeks, however, I had already shown her how to operate the measurement devices. To pass the time, I’ve now given her a pile of papers to read.

December 21

We have a visitor. The last thing you expect at the South Pole in the middle of a snowstorm is a visitor. Her name is Veronica Edwards. She is British and works at the Umbrella facility nearby. She says she is a senior researcher. There’s been a virus outbreak. She hasn’t said what kind of virus it is, only that it’s not airborne and that the likelihood of her being infected is low. In general, she kept a rather low profile. However, she said that under the circumstances she cannot stay in the Umbrella facility. If she is infected with something, we can’t let her roam around freely, but not helping her is not an option either, so we put her in quarantine. Actually, that was her suggestion. Isaac* has prepared a room in the northeast storage building for the purpose. She waited in the snowmobile she came in. The building is quite large, and it also has a shower room and restrooms. Additionally, the supply in the northeastern storage building is largely separated from the other buildings, and we can lock an area from the outside. That could work. It was supposed to be modified into another research building this summer, but the modification has been postponed for another year or so. However, it has already been largely emptied. She said two weeks of quarantine would be enough. For the time being, only Isaac and Harry** will look after her. Isaac is our doctor. Harry has volunteered. They will stay away from the rest of us to minimize the risk of a virus outbreak during that time. In case of an emergency, they have walkie-talkies.

We have offered to contact Umbrella and tell them what happened, but Dr. Edwards said she had done that before she left the Umbrella facility. They’ll send people as soon as the storm subsides. If they’re taking so long, that must mean it’s not that bad, right? Or that it’s already too late, and there’s nothing they can do anyway. Shit. We’re not prepared for incidents like this.

December 21 Addendum I

I have to distract myself from the thought that the woman might have infected us all with some deadly virus. And I forgot to write that our new arrival is rather strange. She was at least wearing a jacket, but underneath, she had only put on a long purple dress, high-heeled shoes, and white velvet gloves. The clothes looked anything but cheap. She looked more like she wanted to go to a gala than work in a research laboratory. Who walks around like that in Antarctica? Well, maybe she wasn’t on duty when the outbreak happened. That would also explain why she managed to escape and, according to her own statement, is probably not infected. But even as casual wear, her outfit looks pretty bizarre in a place like this.

She had to wait quite a long time in the snowmobile until the provisional quarantine was ready. Wasn’t she cold in her thin clothes? She didn’t complain. And I couldn’t see any signs that she was freezing either. Admittedly, I kept a safe distance. Speaking of snowmobiles, judging by the tracks, she was driving as if she was drunk and almost crashed into one of the buildings. Can she just not drive, or are these signs that she’s not feeling well? A fever, perhaps?

Also, I remembered Doug mentioning in the first or second week that Umbrella isn’t even doing research at the facility anymore. It’s supposed to be a materials storage facility or something like that. Well, Dr. Edwards claims she is a researcher there. I’ll ask Doug about the facility again when I get a chance.

December 21 Addendum II

Nicky*** wanted to contact AAD and ask how we should proceed with Dr. Edwards. However, due to the storm, there is currently no way through with our communication system. Always at the best possible time, of course! At least it’s not broken. Nicky has checked it. In a few days, the storm should ease a little, although not stop. She’ll try again then. Until then, we’re on our own. As old as the communication system is, I’m not surprised that it doesn’t work currently. It probably dates back to when the station was founded in the 70s.
