i've been meaning to redesign some of my main & oldest warriors ocs for a while now, so decided to use @/cryptidclaw's awesome bases to give it a try! 👇

Blacktail (he/him)

I've had this guy for as long as I can remember, likely my first ever warriors oc. He's one of the most important characters in my developing warriors story; he resides in SpringClan (would be WindClan) and eventually becomes leader. Despite his happy lil expression in the ref I would say he's the most morally ambiguous character. His white spots are from twoleg kits putting paint on his fur - no cat can remember which markings he was born with and which are paint lol. Bad guy but also haha paint cat. If he had a theme song it would be "Blue Hair" by TV Girl, which might be surprising, maybe I could explain why in a more detailed post :)

Doveheart (she/her)

I have a lot to say about this lady! She is one of the founders of her Clan - CascadeClan (would be RiverClan) - and would have made a fine deputy and leader if it weren't for... *clears throat and looks at the cat above her*. Her father, the leader, led CascadeClan to the three other Clan's territories and she met Blacktail in the 'moving process'. She was sure he was the sort of cat to drop everything for her & join her Clan but she was terribly wrong. It broke her heart but don't worry, she's a great mother to Foxpaw. Her design has changed so much from its original and I'm really proud of her, she's like a daughter to me lmao. I love her so much that her design will likely continue to change for the foreseeable future until I'm 100% happy. I have a big playlist for her but a good song that represents both her anguish and resentment is "Loving You" by Wet Leg.

Foxpaw (he/him)

And here is their son. He resides in CascadeClan with his mother. Despite his expression in the ref, he's known for frowning (...and also being part of a prophecy 👀). He is my favourite of all time and kind of my personal projection onto a warrior cat lmao. In all the long years I've had him I've never had a proper ref of him so this is very exciting for me. If I decide to make proper posts about each of my warriors story characters his design may change as I don't feel it's completed, but rather I'm grateful I have a ref at all. His theme song would be "The Old Witch Sleep and the Good Man Grace" by The Amazing Devil.

i had these guys all the way back when i was in warriors amino lmao. i have a whole folder of commissions for blacktail, a few of doveheart too, but i was obsessed with that guy. still am. foxpaw deserves some love too tho with his first ref <3

ALSO I JUST REALIZED OWLPOUNCE IS A BIRDS NAME (OWL) AND MUD BABY USED TO KILL BIRDS SO HOPEFULLY NOTHING HAPPENS TO OWL BC SHES SO SKRUNKLY AND ACTUALLY TALKS TO MUD ( ive also noticed that in johnny when he hunts the birds,he buries them. I think that may be similar to wrentails demise (like owl he also has a birb in his name. I think it was dark when he led the other warriors to wren?? Not sure but in a way he buried him, so in a way he may have seen him as prey?? In the moments before mud boi attacks wrentail, he’s “hunting” him much like a cat would a bird,(low to the ground etc.) so maybe he saw him as a bird, another omen or someone mocking him, taunting him in a way?

the Bird Symbolism™ is definitely true where Wrentail is concerned, and i do have a plan for how it will tie in with Owlpounce, but honestly tons of cats in Micaclan have bird prefixes!

This is partially because I was naming the cats before I had fully fleshed out the story (in the beginning, Mudpaw was going to be a lot more violent of a character than he ended up being in the present version), so a lot of characters were given bird names to reflect their position in the story as things to be hunted. This is no longer accurate to the story, though!

I also just really like how bird names sound as prefixes for warrior names :P

I just wanted to send you a question regarding the amount of power Rhea has in Fódlan since something came to my mind. You know how during Edelgard's coronation, she said to her father that, "The Archbishop of the Church of Seiros would normally act as witness, but my professor will fill that role instead"?

Unless I missed something [or am overthinking], do you believe that Rhea was even there to witness Ionius' coronation?

We were told in the game that it had been ages since a member of House Hresvelg enrolled into the Officers Academy as well as that there had recently been a rift between the Adrestian Empire and the Church of Seiros.

Therefore, to me at least, that implied that said rift had been going on for a while. And I do not see why they would allow her there if such a thing was going on. Yet, Rhea does not retaliate against this as far as I know. Then there is the fact that Edelgard is allowed to be coronated without Byleth's presence. The Southern Church was dismantled, too, so…I think it is safe to say that there was not an official to witness her from there as well. lol

To put it simply, it feels very contradictory to me and adds a crack into the "Rhea controls Fódlan" perspective.

I agree, that NPC going all "the empire and hthe church cut ties eons agao that's why supreme leader is the first imperial heir to attend since ages" suggests Rhea wasn't very welcomed in Enbarr.

FWIW the Nopes book about the Southern Church incident reveals the Emperor of that time already wanted to cut ties with the Central Church - and used this rebellion (which was more or less a Varley daughter wanting to have a role instead of letting her bother inherit everything?) as an excuse to finally give them the boot.

In a nutshell, I heavily doubt Rhea was around when Ionius was coronated, if her Church was already "not welcomed" by the time the Southern Church was disbanded.

The Archbishop acting as witness might be just some sort of old ceremonial thing, just like the "covenant of the red blood and the white sword", maybe all coronations try to renact the "oath" Wilhelm took/swore to Seiros when she presumably made him Emperor of Adrestia? And the Archbishop acts as a stand in for Seiros (even if we know better!) when the oath is sworn again by Willy's descendants?

As you pointed out, the Archbishop being present or not is merely decorum, since nowhere the game suggests that in the non-CF routes, Supreme Leader's coup coronation isn't regular or anything.

Rhea controlling Fodlan isn't backed up by canon, Adrestia has been doing its own thing for several centuries, the CoS only provides help (the game doesn't tell us what it is!) to Faerghus : Dimitri becomes King not because Rhea crowns or splashes oil on him, but because he is the Crown Prince and the last heir of the previous King. As for the Alliance, it does its own thing without her input!

So I was in a Rp once and I was the sassy and sleep-deprived Deputy who’s job was to make everyone’s life miserable so when my rival, CorruptionPaw’s mentor died and I became his mentor I made it my life’s mission to make him as sad as a soggy cat. And my final Big Project............... A performing arts school AU featuring @peachiehambo's Yoona and the Fodlan kids, in which they put on a performance of Wicked! Many thanks to @moonlightleafs @irpas-fe-corner @emotiandon @incompletenova @dovehearts-blog @geummi @ophie @spaghetti-trash @maynope00 @maimais for letting me borrow your children for the pit orchestra ^^ It was a nightmare trying to arrange it so that everyone is visible in the canvas.... and I learnt that with such an angle, realistically, those closest to the camera lens would be absolutely squished and weird looking oTL NEVER AGAIN SHALL I DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS, BUT IT WAS A GREAT LESSONS I GUESS?? I also don't want to draw keyboards again I MAY BE A KEYBOARDIST BUT THEY ARE SO FULL OF THINGS I DO NOT WANTTTT For the end credits, I did a quick (really quick sobs) instrumental arrangement of For Good on the vibraphone. Can you spot the one melody line I snuck in from the Fire Emblem Main Theme? XDDDD Many thanks to the wonderful recording on youtube of One Short Day by the Australian cast, which I used as a reference (especially for Yuri's pirouette animation....!). The costumes were adapted (and simplified sobs) from Susan Hiferlty's original designs. Special thanks to my sister for everything; without you, i'd never have been able to make this happen ;w;

I've seen a bunch of people draw the start of their clangen saves so i wanted to do the same! Here's the original Orangeclan cats from way back in December when i started playing this game

More info on them under the cut

Orangeclan lives in the mountain cliff and as far as backstory goes i always imagined that they used to live in caves/tunnels but a huge flood happened and their clan was decimated. Despite being pretty old when this happened Sleetfur was able to dig a way out of the cave/tunnel and save himself, his mate and Sparkblotch's family from drowning, his beavery was rewarded by starclan giving him nine lives and giving him the mission of rebuilding the clan.

Sleetstar would later scout the area after the flood passed to look for more survivors from his clan, which led to him finding and rescuing Asterswoop, Spikefreckle, Tigerbush, Forestpaw and Slightpaw. He then guided the cats to the mountain top because be believed that being all the way up there would keep the clan safe from any other natural disasters that happened down bellow.

Dont ask why they're called Orangeclan btw, i didn't out any thought on the name. I was having a lot of save problems and had 3 other clans before this one that i couldn't save and i thought it was gonna be the same for them so i didn't bother picking up a cool name and went with the first randomized option.

Now into the cats themsleves

I already talked a bit about Sleetstar but i love him so much :(, i don't get why people never pick older cats to be leaders, maybe it's different in the newer version of clangen but my guy would rarely lose lives let alone get sick or injured. He was a strong man! And a very good leader, he wals always trying to set a good example to his clanmates.

He is mates with Shadowpelt and they were very sweet, tho i don't have much to say about Shadowpelt because he died on my first timeskip and then i got sas because his last though was about growing old with Sleetstar 💔

Tigerbush was my first medicine cat and one of the only cats from this image that's still alive in current Orangeclan, i have no idea how, this man is absolute ancient and refuses to retire. Crusty old cat is only leaving the medicine den on his coffin at this point.

Spikefreckle was pretty cool? The cats liked her as a deputy and she was always looking out to the younger cats in clan, but unfortunately i also don't have much to say about her since she also died pretty early on when i send a patrol to investigate a badger den. Which sucked because she had such a cool design :(

While no cat at the start of a clangen save os related i always pictured Sparkblotch being Pigeonpelt and Fadedgaze's mother, she was very nice and spent most of her days as a sweet old lady looking over the clan's kits. Her sons are pretty cool too, Fadedgaze is very chill and Pigeonpelt is such a guy!! He's a little shy and adopted two abandoned kits that grew up to be called Doveheart and Hailhawk! Bird fam!

The there's Asterswoop who's the cat with the biggest swag around, they're full of themselves and think they're the best warrior ever. But he's not a jerk, they were always pretty helpful just a lil annoying. I absolutely love his fur pattern and it sucks ass that none of his kids got the same harsh white divide :(

Speaking of kids, they're family was kinda of a mess, they got together with an ex-loner and had two kits but quickly divorced and the ex went ton to marry Fadedgaze shortly after. Who she also had kits with and divorced to get together with another cat shortly after-

Lastly we have Forestpaw and Slightpaw who grew up to be Forestpoppy/star and Slightstreak, god there's so much to say about these two and their fucked up relationship. Being the only two young warriors in the clan there was pressure from their clanmates for them to get together and bring kits to the clan, which they did but their relationship was by no means good or healthy.

Slightstreak was a pool of negativity always complaining about everything and everyone, their son Woodkit was born around the time Forestpoppy was appointed as deputy and many times she put her job over being around for the kid, leaving Woodkit to be around his other mom most of the time, who was seemingly never satisfied or proud of anything he accomplished.

They actually divorced right after Woodshade became a warrior which was fucking hilarious to me

Skizz - Doveheart (cuz of his association w/ angels)

Pearl - Scarlettpearl (double life <3)

Bdubs - Mossfur (Tho I tossed around some ideas w/ horse)

Gem - Gemstone (this one's kinda basic, but I feel validated in it cuz Skizz has been calling Gem Gemstone)

Impulse - Quickstep (cuz like impulse?)

Those are the ones I like a fair bit. Etho, Cleo, and a few others gave me some trouble and I'm not set on anything for them yet.

One honorable mention, Redstone is a valid warrior cat name!

Sitri and the Others

This topic was suggested to me by @dovehearts-blog! Feel free to suggest your own topics to me.

We're going to look at Byleth's mother, Sitri. Who was she? What was she like? Were there others like her?

Let's unpack!

Creation

I thought that I could regain all I had lost, if only I could revive my mother... And so I tried to bring her back by creating a body, and then burying a Crest Stone within it. A young woman I created...my twelfth try after much heartache...was a failure.

Rhea created twelve vessels in order to revive her mother. She did this by creating a (human) body, and embedding the Crest of Flames in it. All of these vessels were failures as they lacked the conscience of the goddess. And yet, the Crest of Flames would give life to the body. These vessels would come and go in the span of a thousand years. The twelfth one was called Sitri.

Life

Sitri grew up with a frail constituion and was unable to go outside the monastery because of that.

Still, people talked to her. Aelfric and Jeralt were two men who held romantic feelings for her. Sitri did not smile often, but she would always brighten up when Jeralt brought her flowers. The two of them fell in love over time, and Aelfric was willing to watch her walk away, if only she kept smiling.

Sitri and Jeralt wed, and she became pregnant in time. She was so happy during this time, but that joy would not last long.

Death

The childbirth was too much for her and the baby. Byleth was stillborn, and Sitri was in grave danger. Sitri pleaded with Rhea to save her baby.

"My heart... Give it to my child."

Doing nothing would have led to the death of both the mother and child, and so Rhea granted her final wish. It worked. The baby started breathing.

Sitri died, surrendering her life so Byleth's might begin.

Vessels

Sitri and Byleth's names are derived from demons mentioned in the Ars Goetia. Listed in order of sigil, you get:

Bael

Agares

Vassago

Samigina

Marbas

Valefor

Amon

Barbatos

Paimon

Buer

Gusion

Sitri

Beleth

Not all of these names are feminine-sounding. While it seems unlikely that Rhea would create male vessels for her mother, it is not outside the realm of possibility. She never raises any concern about Byleth possibly being male.

There is also the possibility that some names might've been slightered altered to sound more feminine if all the vessels were female.

Or the names could pass off as either gender. It really depends on how you view it.

Soul

One might wonder if the eleven vessels before Sitri had their own souls like she did. I lean towards yes. Rhea doesn't sacrifice lives to revive her mother; otherwise, she would've shanked the apostles and drained all their blood for the Rite of Rising.

I believe that did they have their own souls and that they lived as long as they could because Rhea didn't want to outright murder them. A thousand years divided by twelve gives you around 83 years for each vessel's lifespan. Of course, they were likely frail and had shorter lifespans than the average person, but that still gives each of them a relatively long life.

Nabatean..?

Sitri has green hair and green eyes like Nabateans, but we never see her ears, so who knows. Rhea does say in the Japanese version that she created a human body, but that might be a translation error on my part.

Edit: @randomnameless mentioned that Sitri's body didn't decay. That would put her closer to a Nabatean than a human.
