Discussion on Cancer with Professor Thomas Seyfried – Dr. Berg's Skype Interview
Professor Seyfried teaches and conducts research in the fields of neurogenetics, neurochemistry, and cancer.
In this interview, Professor Seyfried and I discuss the origin of cancer and the difference between a cancer cell and a normal cell. He explains how mitochondrial damage from various sources plays a major role in the development of cancer.
Conventional methods to manage and treat cancer focus on hereditary aspects, and chemotherapy and radiation as treatment. Professor Seyfried describes cancer as a side effect of mitochondrial damage. When cell respiration is damaged by a carcinogen, cancer is a side effect.
Professor Seyfried explains that 1600 people are dying of cancer each day, largely due to a misunderstanding of the disease. Traditional methods of treatment wreak havoc on the body. To prevent and manage cancer, he insists that you must starve cancer cells of glucose and glutamine.
The ketogenic diet can be an incredibly useful tool in the management of cancer because tumor cells can not use ketones.
You can donate to Professor Thomas Seyfried’s research here.

THE MEGA MOTHER SMOOTHIE
Tumblr media
1 cup of kale
2 small kiwis
23 almonds (overnight soaked and strained for milk if possible)
1 cup of raw spinach
1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed
2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast
3 tablespoons of pumpkin seeds
4 dates
1 medium banana * Add water and ice to thin it out to your favorite consistency. Add a pinch of salt to bring out natural sweetness. * The Nutritional Breakdown: Vitamin A - 1 cup of kale 100% Folate- (Same 1 cup of Kale) 21% Vitamin C - 2 kiwis 100% Vitamin E - 15 soaked almonds 45% (you may strain for milk because natural is best. Most store-bought almond milk has synthetic ingredients that cause cancer.) Vitamin K - 1 cup raw spinach 100% Thiamin- 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed 10% / 25% (2 Tbsp Dr. Berg Nutritional Yeast) Please note that you only need 2 tbsp of Berg's Yeast to also fill the following: Omega-3 1.8 g ( same 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed) 100% Riboflavin - (Same 2 Tbsp Dr. Berg Nutritional Yeast) 80% Niacin - (Same 2 Tbsp Dr. Berg Nutritional Yeast) 40% Vitamin B6 - (Same 2 Tbsp Dr. Berg Nutritional Yeast) 30% Pantothenic Acid - (Same 2 Tbsp Dr. Berg Nutritional Yeast) 40% Phosphorous - 3 Tbsp of Pumpkin Seeds 20% Manganese - (Same 3 Tbsp of Pumpkin Seeds) 43% Zinc - (Same 3 Tbsp of Pumpkin Seeds) 15% Copper - (Same 3 Tbsp of Pumpkin Seeds) 31 % Magnesium - (Same 3 Tbsp of Pumpkin Seeds) 29% Potassium - 4 Dates, 1 small banana 30% (optional if you are watching your sugars and calories.) This smoothie provides a comprehensive array of vitamins and minerals, addressing a significant portion of your daily nutritional requirements. Don't fret over the calorie count, unless you have specific medical concerns. Designed to substitute for two meals, it offers greater nutrient density compared to many other meal options. With the addition of bananas and dates for substance, hunger pangs should be effectively managed. Flaxseeds contribute to a sense of fullness and overall well-being, thanks to their omega-3 content, providing a balanced sensation. Calorie info below: 33 (kale) + 84 (kiwis) + 160 (almonds) + 7 (spinach) + 37 (flaxseed) + 60 (nutritional yeast) + 126 (pumpkin seeds) + 282 (dates) + 105 (banana) = 894 calories. The remainder of your day won't compare to the nutritional value of this meal. Feel free to customize the flavor by incorporating your favorite ingredients. Cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and blueberries are excellent options to enrich this smoothie. Experiment with different additions to make it uniquely yours.
For dinner, consider including quinoa as it boasts various essential nutrients such as folate, magnesium, zinc, and iron. Additionally, it's packed with fiber and protein, both of which contribute to a sense of satiety. As for protein sources, you can choose from fish, beef, chicken, (for B12 vitamins). If you eat liver, take care not to indulge in the smoothie for the day. Watch your vitamin A when experimenting with these foods. A modest portion of cheese, or fermented foods like sauerkraut, natto, or Parmesan Reggiano for calcium. Definitely add a small amount of other varieties of greens or root vegetables to aid in good digestion.
Supplement: with but do not add to smoothie: Dr. Berg's Vitamin D3 + K2 is an excellent source of Vitamin D (1250 %) - as cholecalciferol, and Vitamin K (83%) as MK-7. menaquinone-7, Vitamin B6 (1765 %) as pyridoxal 5-phosphate, Magnesium (6%) as magnesium citrate, Zinc (182%) as zinc sulfate In conclusion, feel free to explore diverse food choices for both dinner and snacks. Take an active approach in meeting your nutritional requirements tailored to your individual goals and needs. However, I caution against adopting this diet if you require strict adherence to eating schedules or have concerns regarding blood sugar levels. It's advisable to consult your physician before implementing any alterations to your dietary regimen. * Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and am not certified to give nutritional advise. This is just my own personal study on food for my own health journey.
EXTRA INFORMATION ACCORDING TO CHATGPT: While the ingredients you've listed are all nutritious, there are a few considerations regarding their combination that could affect absorption or digestion:
Iron absorption: Spinach and kale are high in iron, but they also contain compounds called oxalates, which can bind to iron and reduce its absorption. However, the vitamin C in kiwis and the vitamin C-rich fruits like kiwi and banana can enhance non-heme iron absorption from plant sources like spinach and kale.
Calcium absorption: Spinach and kale also contain calcium, but they also contain oxalates, which can inhibit calcium absorption. Almonds, while a good source of calcium, also contain oxalates. However, the calcium in these foods may still contribute to overall calcium intake.
Phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors: Nuts and seeds (such as almonds and pumpkin seeds) contain phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors, which can bind to minerals like zinc and inhibit their absorption. However, soaking nuts and seeds overnight can help reduce these compounds, making the minerals more bioavailable.
Fiber content: All of the ingredients you've listed are high in fiber, which is generally beneficial for digestion and can help regulate blood sugar levels. However, consuming too much fiber at once may cause digestive discomfort for some people. It's important to drink plenty of water when consuming a high-fiber meal to help prevent constipation and promote healthy digestion.
Balancing macronutrients: While the combination of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in your meal can help slow down the absorption of sugars into the bloodstream, it's still important to consider portion sizes and overall balance. Consuming too many carbohydrates at once, even from healthy sources like fruits and vegetables, can still lead to a spike in blood sugar levels, especially for individuals with insulin resistance or diabetes.
Overall, while there may be some interactions between nutrients that could affect absorption or digestion, the combination of these ingredients in a balanced meal is likely to provide a wide range of nutrients and health benefits. It's always a good idea to listen to your body and adjust your diet based on your individual needs and preferences. If you have Are Kiwis good for digestibility? And Why? Yes, kiwis are often touted for their digestive benefits due to several reasons:
High Fiber Content: Kiwis are rich in dietary fiber, both soluble and insoluble. Fiber is essential for maintaining healthy digestion by promoting regular bowel movements, preventing constipation, and supporting overall gut health.
Enzymes: Kiwis contain an enzyme called actinidain, which is similar to the bromelain found in pineapple. Actinidain is known for its protein-digesting properties, which may aid in the digestion of proteins from other foods.
Low FODMAP: Kiwis are considered low in FODMAPs (fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides, and polyols), which are carbohydrates that can ferment in the gut and cause digestive discomfort in some people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or other digestive issues.
Prebiotic Potential: The fiber content in kiwis also serves as a prebiotic, providing fuel for beneficial gut bacteria. A healthy balance of gut bacteria is important for proper digestion and overall health.
Antioxidants: Kiwis are rich in antioxidants, including vitamin C, vitamin E, and polyphenols, which may help reduce inflammation in the digestive tract and protect against digestive disorders.
Overall, including kiwis in your diet can contribute to better digestion, especially when combined with other fiber-rich foods and a balanced diet. However, individual responses to foods can vary, so it's essential to listen to your body and determine how kiwis and other foods affect your digestive health. If you have specific digestive concerns, it's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare provider or registered dietitian for personalized advice.

Hello everyone! I decided I didn’t like the original designs I had for the bosses before and chose to redesign them. I apologize for the hold up as these took me 3 days to finish up. I made these reference sheets specifically for myself, and you all if you so need. The designs will be more consistent from now on! I know I often change design a few times and it irritates me personally when I look back on them.
But that’s enough about my preference, what do you all think about the designs?
