I wish people were less stupid about natural remedies and home remedies because some of them work so well but not in an "essential oils cure cancer" way but in a "they can relieve symptoms and, if it's a more serious illness, can be used in addition to real medicine or until you can access real medicine" way. Not even to mention how many meds are just optimised versions of natural remedies (synthetic penicillin vs mould)

ok this is the current snake oil making the rounds. Please reblog this so people are aware
Eating a handful of apricot seeds every day is DANGEROUS they're literally full of CYANIDE 😭😭 people are saying "that's just Big Pharma(tm) trying to scare you!" Buddy no. There's a reason the CIA uses emergency cyanide pills!!!
Cyanide is DEADLY i cannot stress this enough. I genuinely thought this was common knowledge. Accidentally swallowing a couple seeds is harmless aside from an upset stomach but "10 a day for clearer skin!" Will literally slowly poison you. The pain you're feeling in your stomach isn't "the apricot detoxing your gut" you have CYANIDE POISONING.
There are better things to eat for clear skin. Almonds are related to apricots and have all the nutrients apricot seeds do. Just. Y'know. Minus the cyanide. Don't be the next winner of the Darwin Award guys 😭😭

 🍋Lemon 101 🍋
Tumblr media
Lemon(Citrus limon)
The lemon is a species of small evergreen tree in the flowering plant family Rutaceae, native to Asia, primarily Northeast India, Northern Myanmar, and China.
Medicinal Uses & Properties
🍋High in Vitamin C, immune system boosting
 🍋Anti-microbial
 🍋Boosts digestion
 🍋Promotes weight loss
🍋Promotes heart health
🍋Soothes sore throat
🍋Lemon oil can be used to sanitize wounds (Please dilute with a carrier before using)
🍋Lemon essential oil promotes happiness, and eases depression and anxiety when used for aromatherapy
Magickal Properties
 🍋Love
 🍋Purification
 🍋Beauty
 🍋Friendship
 🍋Cursing
 🍋Longevity
 🍋Inspiration
Uses for Lemon
🍋Make tea, pies, or other dishes
 🍋Make fermented lemons
 🍋Drink lemon water
🍋Leave lemons, or parts of a lemon, on your altar to honor the Moon
🍋Use dried peels for spells
🍋Squeeze lemon juice in your bath for protection
🍋Make a lemon salve or tincture for minor cuts and scrapes(it will burn so beware)
Safety
🍋Lemon fruit, seeds, rinds, and oils are toxic to dogs and cats. Most dogs don't like the smell of lemon, but please keep lemon and lemon products out of their reach. [1][2]
🍋Please use a carrier oil when applying essential oils to your skin or scalp. I recommend doing a skin patch test before applying in large quantities. NEVER put essential oils on pets, even when they're mixed with a carrier oil. It can and most likely will irritate their skin or otherwise negatively impact them.
🍋Be wary of citrus burns if you work with citrus in the sun. [3]
🍋Please look into negative drug interactions with medications. I read that Itraconazole doesn't mix with lemon(and other citrus), but the only source I found on that was WebMD, which isn't very credible, so do your own research.
🍋Lemon causes the erosion of tooth enamel and heartburn when eaten in large amounts.

Researchers show that great bustards in Spain prefer to eat two plant species with compounds active in vitro against protozoa, nematodes, and fungi: corn poppies and purple viper’s bugloss. Males, who spend much time and energy on sexual displays during the mating season, have a stronger preference for these plants than females, and more so during the mating season than at other times of the year. The authors thus consider great bustards as prime candidates for non-human animals that self-medicate, but stress that more research is needed to definitively prove this.

Golden Honey Herbal Elixir  🍯✨
❤️Ginger            1 Tsp
❤️Cinnamon     1 Tsp
❤️Turmeric        1 Tsp
❤️Black Pepper 1 Tsp
❤️Honey              5 Tbsp
Black pepper, not only offers so many incredible health benefits, and also enhances the absorption of turmeric. This herbal elixir is not only delicious, it is a highly antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory.
It is excellent for respiratory conditions, such as asthma and bronchitis and inflammatory conditions, including arthritis, eczema, and psoriasis, just to name a few. It’s also great for cardiovascular health, controlling cholesterol levels and blood pressure levels, cognitive health, enhancing brain function, memory, and digestive health, reducing inflammation in the gut and the digestive tract.
This elixir is also highly effective in boosting the immune function, and controlling blood sugar levels. 🤔

Speaking of "natural remedies that suck"...remember when people were convinced that eating "horse apples" (the Osage Orange) would cure them of cancer because "Cows eat them and don't get cancer!" What a bunch of fools.
I know that people want cheaper medical options than what we're getting, but snakeoil salesmen (or, in this case, horse apple salesmen) keep pouncing on that desperation. Hopefully we can continue to encourage people to be skeptical of all of this.
~Jasper of @jasper-pagan-witch
This is the first I've heard of it, but yeah, that's a great example of a "natural remedy" that's a complete scam.

🪵Cinnamon 101🪵
Tumblr media
Cinnamon(Cinnamomum verum)
Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several tree species from the genus Cinnamomum. Cinnamon is used mainly as an aromatic condiment and flavouring additive in a wide variety of cuisines, sweet and savoury dishes, breakfast cereals, snack foods, bagels, teas, hot chocolate and traditional foods.
Medicinal Uses & Properties
🪵Antioxidant
🪵Anti-inflammatory
🪵May reduce neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease
🪵Anticancer
🪵Improves blood circulation
🪵Boosts brain function
🪵May have antibacterial and antifungal properties
🪵Control blood sugar
Magickal Properties
🪵Love
🪵Fire Magick and Warmth
🪵Lust
🪵Purification
🪵Money
🪵Protection
🪵Passion
🪵Sex
Uses for Cinnamon
🪵Make a potpourri or simmer pot
🪵Burn cinnamon incense
🪵Brew cinnamon tea, or make other foods
🪵Use cinnamon(or cinnamon products, such as oils) to keep away bugs.
🪵Make a candle and add cinnamon to the wax
🪵Sprinkle cinnamon around, or make a natural bug repellent, to keep away pests, such as ants.
Safety
🪵Please do not burn cinnamon. Inhaling cinnamon, especially for long periods, can lead to respiratory inflammation and irritation, as well as coughing, wheezing, and breathing difficulty. Please buy cinnamon incense instead of burning cinnamon directly, the cinnamon in the incense has been prepared in a way that is safer to burn.[1]
🪵Please use a carrier oil when applying essential oils to your skin or scalp. I recommend doing a skin patch test before applying in large quantities. NEVER put essential oils on pets, even when they're mixed with a carrier oil. It can and most likely will irritate their skin or otherwise negatively impact them.
🪵Please keep cinnamon and cinnamon products out of birds access. Allegedly, Chinese/Cassia cinnamon is toxic to birds but not "regular" cinnamon. I say just keep all cinnamon away from them.[2]
🪵Cinnamon, while not fatal, can become toxic for dogs when consumed in large amounts. It causes skin and digestive irritation when consumed and inhalation can cause coughing, choking, and difficulty breathing.[3] These same warnings also apply to cats.[4]

For my fellow trans men: Aloe Vera is a great natural treatment for vaginal atrophy, a common side effect of starting testosterone. It's also safe to use as lube, but only vaginally. Not analy bc the pH levels aren't high enough to match the pH levels of ur anus. ✌️
