“America is moving. Moving forward. And we can’t stop now.” (Joe Biden) After spending nearly three decades in the audience listening to the president’s annual message to Congress, this time President Joe Biden himself delivered an annual address to a joint session of Congress, with Vice President Kamala Harris and Speaker Nancy Pelosi flanking him. Biden’s speech to Congress once again pitched for unity among the divided Congress. The president became vocal about his economic agenda comprising the American Jobs Plan, popularly known as the infrastructure plan, and spending $1.8 trillion for paid leaves, education, and child care programs under the American Families plan. The event was one of a kind, as, for the first time in history, both the people accompanying the president were female. As he addressed Congress for the first time, he implored Americans to get vaccinations so the virus can be dodged quickly. What did Biden say in his first speech to Congress, and what does it mean for the United States going forward? Let’s see. Ambitious Economic Agenda: The Ultimate Plan to Move the United States Forward His economic plan remained the core of Biden’s address as he continued his speech, mainly along the economic lines. Two plans specifically, including the $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan and $1.8 trillion families plan, were the talk of the town as President Biden linked the United States economic growth with these plans.  The primary motive of the American Families plan is to increase educational access, reduce child care costs, and support working women.  Although the destructuring of the plan remains unannounced, almost $1 trillion is intended for the new spending, along with tax credits worth $800 billion. The $1 trillion spendings will further be divided into the following domains.  Investing $225 billion for child care subsidy and medical leave programs. $200 billion subsidies for those registered in the Affordable Care Act. $200 billion investment in education, including absolutely free schooling for five million children from low-income families. Probable funding for the community college centers for every American and Dreamers, the young unaccompanied immigrants.   However, raising revenue for this much economic funding will only become possible by increasing the taxes on wealthy Americans, for which Biden announced increasing corporate taxes.   As Biden related his economic agenda with these underlying plans, another tussle is on its way in Congress, as Republicans were already resisting the infrastructure plan. Having the American families plan waiting in the queue will make the matter more complex. In totality, three economic plans of Biden’s presidency, including a $ 1.9 trillion COVID relief package, $2.3 infrastructure package, and now a $1.8 trillion, are aiming to bring the United States back to normalcy, for which he was highly vocal in his speech. Biden’s Denouncement of White Supremacy Biden’s speech to Congress involved the reiteration of George Floyd’s tale, as he said, “We have all seen the knee of injustice on the neck of Black American (George Floyd).” (Joe Biden)   While Biden did defend the police officers working honestly, he rebuked the white supremacy movement and labeled it the “most lethal terrorist threat to the homeland.” As Derek Chauvin’s verdict is out, Biden’s approval of the verdict was also seen in his first speech to Congress. As he is now the holder of the authoritative chair, acting instead of talking is the need of the hour for President Biden. No doubt that Biden has been talking too much about white supremacy lately; this is the time of walking the talk for him, as he has not taken any conclusive measure for police reforms to save lives yet. Trump, COVID, and China: Things which Biden did not Forget to Mention in his Speech to Congress While delivering his first speech to Congress, President Joe Biden did not forget to blame the former president for damaging the United St
ates. Calling the January 6 Congress invasion the worst attack on democracy since the cold war, Biden reiterated the inherited mess that put the country to a standstill due to the egoistic attitude of Donald Trump.  Stressing upon his administration’s efforts to curb the coronavirus, Joe Biden reiterated the steps taken to curtail the virus, including the rapid vaccination drives. Furthering the notions of his Green New Deal was also part of Biden’s speech to Congress. As he talked about the increasing need for green energy, Congress's response was along the party lines, where Republicans preferred not to approve the wording. However, when Biden spoke Trump’s language about safeguarding the American market from Chinese products, the applause for the President was seen by both the Republicans and Democrats. For the Biden administration, walking on the anti-Chinese foreign policy is the easiest thing to do in the government, as he receives no opposition on this matter. The first 100 days of the Biden administration have entirely shown that the United States' relations with China are not going towards normalcy any time soon, which the president also depicted in his first speech to Congress. Portraying his will for the favorable policies for the US markets, he said, “There's no reason the blades for wind turbines can't be built in Pittsburgh instead of Beijing." (Joe Biden)    Seeking unity with Republicans time and time again is not an alien phenomenon for President Biden anymore. Amid the equally divided Senate, this unity becomes even more important. Making the closing remarks of his first speech to Congress, Biden said,  We have stared into an abyss of insurrection and autocracy – of pandemic and pain – and 'We the People' did not flinch. At the very moment, our adversaries were certain we would pull apart and fail; we came together, we united." (Joe Biden) Final Thoughts Then came the Republican rebuttal, for which the only Black Senator of the GOP, Tim Scott of South Carolina, was nominated by Republicans.  As the president delivered his first speech to Congress, Tim Scott blamed the Democratic policies for further dividing the nation and not entertaining bipartisanship. Despite Biden's vocalness about increasing the minimum wage, Tim Scott accused Democratic policies of decreasing the minimum wage while destroying the economy. As Biden pressed on his role in sidelining the pandemic, Scott appreciated Donald Trump's effort in tackling the coronavirus. The economic agenda of the Biden administration seems ambitious and holds the answers to many questions. However, it is useless until or unless Democrats can harness Republican support for the legislation, which seems highly improbable after the Republicans refuse Biden's economic agenda, owing to the pervasive taxation present in it. Now it up to Biden to determine how he actualizes his plans at a time when Republican lawmakers are in no mood of supporting him. Walking the talks of eliminating white supremacy, ending voter suppression efforts of the Republicans, wrapping up the gun violence, and doing police reforms will also remain a challenge for the president, as the speech seem ambitious. Still, the challenges to actualize the speech are greater than ever.

Can i ask more about your artificer boy??
YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN hold on I’ll dump his ENTIRE backstory under the cut
OKAY SO
Welcome to Eberron, a world in which magic not only exists, but is incredibly common! It’s the 800s and the country of Cyre is embroiled in a bloody war. A brilliant man by the name of Merrick D’Cannith, of House Cannith (famous for their arcane inventions), is trying to create an automaton soldier. He succeeds—metal men are made that do not sleep, breathe, or rest. But they’re lacking the spark of true life—they only follow orders, they do not think for themselves.
Enter his son, Aaren D’Cannith. At the age of 15 this young man is a prodigy and a dreamer, taking after his father with his gift for clockwork creations. Merrick shows him the automaton and Aaren becomes obsessed with finding the key to tethering new souls to these bodies. A couple of years of intense work later, he does it—he creates “Stava,” a childlike robot assistant that he loves like his own.
Unfortunately, their House sees this new creature and only sees its potential for war. They seize Aaren’s blueprints and start mass manufacturing newly dubbed “warforged,” which are exported across continent and wreak bloody havoc as platoons. Aaren is outraged at this. In his eyes, his newly created race—his CHILDREN—is being enslaved for horrific means, and he fights against his House tooth and nail. They… do not appreciate this. The moment he turns 18, he is disowned and banished. He vanishes off the face off the Earth on that day. No investigation nor divination magic can find him, and the world is content to move on with the name “Aaren D’Cannith” known simply as the bloodthirsty warmonger that created monsters.
FAST FORWARD 7 YEARS: The reason no one could find him was because Aaren had built a magic-proofed underground bunker/library, thanks to his newly developed paranoia. (Getting thrown out of your family for defending your kids will do that.) He’s been spending his time trying to free the warforged from their chains and the war that had been fought for much too long. That is, until what’s essentially an arcane nuke gets dropped on the country of Cyre in an event called The Mourning, wiping out or corrupting all life on the surface. Aaren was barely able to duck into his bunker, breathing enough toxic gas to atrophy his arcane knowledge but not to kill him. In an instant, his home is decimated—the surface teems with hostile living spells, toxic fog, and the shells of the creatures that got caught in it. All except the warforged were affected, and the war comes to an abrupt end through catastrophic loss of life.
Meanwhile, Aaren is now trapped in his bunker—he’s too weak from fog poisoning to get himself out, and it screwed with his memories so even his more advanced works no longer make sense to him. If he doesn’t come up with a way to get a scout out, he’ll go crazy from isolation. Luckily (or unluckily) the Lord of Blades, a gargantuan warforged that went rogue and wished to wipe out all organic life, comes across him and agrees to provide Aaren the materials to build an automaton shell his soul can inhabit—a new warforged body. In return, Aaren owes the Lord a debt. And so, Lutka is born—Aaren can astral project his soul into Lutka, and he is able to venture outside of the bombed out remains of Cyre safely, though his original body remains in his bunker.
And that is how the party found him—Lutka, far from Cyre, a strange warforged not built for war with stranger mannerisms like whistling and taking unneeded breaths. With the war over and a treaty hastily signed, warforged were free to do as they wished. Aaren was now trying to regain his lost skills, discover the source of the disaster that struck his country, find out how much of his family survived, and get his own body free from the bunker tomb it was imprisoned in. Later, once his party heads into Cyre again for side quest reasons, the Lord of Blades comes across them and nearly kills them—Lutka barely managed to stop him by claiming they were needed for research, and that he’d work on “putting the power of the Creation Forges in warforged’s hands” within a year. The Creation Forges are (now-defunct) machines originally used to mass manufacture the warforged platoons. The Lord of Blades agreed to this in exchange for their lives, probably thinking he’d get his own warforged army in the future. In reality, Aaren’s going to give warforged the miracle of childbirth :)
ALSO the Lord kinda threatened to “drag Aaren out of that tin can of his” if he didn’t deliver in time, which lit a fire under his butt to get the fuck out. Just recently Lutka found a way to teleport Aaren out of the bunker, after 4 long years of not tasting good food or smelling fresh air or seeing the sun with his own eyes. In Eberron there is an underground casino that allows you to bet anything for anything else—Lutka was able to bet 1/3 his strength for the money to gain access to teleportation circles at a nearby guild of wizards, and another 1/3 in return for the ability to cast “teleportation circle” once. He gathered the party members he trusted the most to meet him, and he’s now sequestered in the Wizard’s Guild instead as he continues adventuring as Lutka!
But yeah the half of the party that Aaren told his secret to were COMPLETELY blindsided, it was great. I’d been dropping hints that something was up for MONTHS, such as the aforementioned human-ish mannerisms. Lutka also “shuts down” periodically to “look things up” that he doesn’t know, which is in reality Aaren returning to his body for a quick library reference. I’ve also dropped slip of the tongue instances such as “this body” and he never refers to the warforged race as “us” or “we.” No one’s guessed the truth, but the ones who were let in on the secret had a huge “you absolute motherfucker THAT’S WHAT YOU WERE DOING” moment at me haha

Blue Eyes
Tumblr media
This fic was inspired by the song Emerald Eyes by Anson Seabra
Word Count: 1,527
It was a boring Saturday, you were in between bad guys and the rest was unusual but welcome. The Salvatore house was the ideal place to relax and hang out, it was much more spacious and some how more like home than your actual home. You had been listening to music through your earbuds on the couch, bouncing your foot to the beat. Kai sat across the living room, diving into one of the old books from Stefan's collection on the wall. After listening to Emerald Eyes you decided exactly what you wanted to do that night. Putting your earbuds away, you cross over to Kai and drum a little pattern on his knees. "Hey, Parker. I want to show you something cool tonight." Putting his book down slightly he looked up with a curious smile, his blue eyes gleaming in the sun beam streaming from the tall window. "What is it?" "I want to show you the state park, we'll have a picnic up in my favorite spot and look at the stars." You flashed him a cheesy smile and wiggled your eyebrows. Ugh, I am so bad at this flirting thing. "Sounds fun. It's about damn time we got out of the house. I'll get the picnic basket ready." Half an hour later and you were both packed up and ready to head out. Kai pulled his favorite blue car up to the front so you could both hop in. With a creak and a thud, you closed the passenger door and slid in close enough to where you could rest your head on his shoulder if you wanted.  "Which way is the state park?" Kai asked, putting the car in gear as you started to roll onward. "Just follow the highway and you'll go straight to it." you tried to give a confident smile but you felt so nervous inside. Tonight is the night. The car ride was a blast, you found the rock and roll station and Kai turned the volume up. With windows rolled down, your hair blew wildly as the both of you sang along to the blaring music. Rolling hills turned into pine tree covered mountains, rocky cliffs started to appear here and there. The fresh forest air filled the cabin and you knew you were close to the entrance. “Right there.” you motioned and Kai slowed down to turn into the park. You turned the music down to hear him ask,“Which way now?” “Go left, the scenic view starts there.” you squirmed playfully, excited for the nights events about to unfold. Kai responded in turn by bumping his elbow against you with a smirk. The drive on the scenic view was surreal, not much needed to be said as you stared out the windows in wonder of nature’s artwork. Wildflowers were scattered here and there, the tall trees making a scene just for the two of you, showing off the fluttering leaves and the sound of the birds chirping away. About 10 minutes into the drive you reached the top of the mountains. There were wide, open spacious views of the surrounding mountains and hills. A green valley spread below while to the right it turned into a beautiful rocky canyon. Kai pulled the car to a stop in the mini parking space by the covered picnic area. He reached back to pull out the large picnic basket which looked to be filled to the brim with food. “Is here good?” Kai motioned to one of the large picnic tables. “Nope!” you shouted, still getting the blankets out of the backseat, “Go out to the big grassy area and find us a nice spot!” You bit your lip in excitement and Kai walked around in the grass trying to find just the right spot. He wanted this night to be perfect. He had never really gone on trips with just Y/N before and it was exciting, he was new to emotions but he always felt a different kind when he was with her. There was some emotion that he couldn’t describe, he tried to talk to Damon about how his stomach did flips like he was going to puke, his heart raced and he felt warm, he wanted to know what it meant but Damon just laughed and walked away. Maybe tonight he would find out. At last he found the perfect spot and just in time as Y/N came over with the thick blanket to lay down. “Mmmmmm I’m hungry! What did you pack?” your hand bumped into Kai’s as you both tried to open the basket.
“Ha..Let me get it out.” Kai winked at you.
You playfully rolled your eyes, used to Kai’s pretentious flirting. Did his cheeks turn pink? No. No way, you’re just imagining. You scoot back, giving him room to spread out the assortment of food he had packed.
“Damn- I didn’t know you could fit that much food in there. This looks amazing!”
Kai gave you a proud smile, “I’ve had time to practice my cooking.”
Digging into the food, your stomach had a taste of heaven. Kai closed his eyes and enjoyed the warmth of the sun on his skin. You allowed your eyes to wander over him as he sat back on his arms peacefully. He opened his eyes and you cleared your throat, looking away quickly to avoid his suspicion. Once you were both full, Kai packed up the basket and set it off to the side. The sun had almost finished setting, the orange, pink and purple streaks quickly fading. Kai and you both laid down onto your backs with a content sigh. A chill started to kick in as the temperature dropped and out of instinct you both moved closer together. Kai’s put his arms up above his head to relax, for some reason it was so attractive even though he didn’t mean for it to be. His muscles flexed through his shirts created butterflies in your stomach. You could only imagine what it would feel like to be held in his arms. Kai looked up to the night sky, he couldn’t help himself from looking over at you. The way you gazed up in wonder, and how your eyes sparkled from the reflection of the stars. Humming, he allowed one of his arms to droop around your shoulder. You pretended not to notice, not wanting to make a bigger deal out of it than you should. Your heart said otherwise.
“Look. Look right there at the colors changing!” you pointed, trying to show Kai the discovery you had made.
“I don’t see what you’re pointing to.” he furrowed his eyebrows.
You moved in closer trying again but he hummed a no in response. You made a risky decision but decided it would be worth it. You rolled on top of him, his chest pressed flush against your back and you held one if his arms against your stomach while pointing up to the sky with your other hand.
“Look,” you giggled, “do you see it now?” You leaned your head back so you could look at  him.
“I see it- what is it?”
“I have no idea- but it’s beautiful.” you leaned your cheek against his to look back up.
Your smell was intoxicating to him, the rose aroma flooding his senses until all he could think about was you on top of him. He loved the feel of your body rising and falling against him.
Kai breathed into your ear, “Just like you.”
Your breath hitched, unsure if you really heard what you thought you did. Suddenly Kai’s hands moved to your waist to turn you over. He moved one hand to the middle of your back and drew lazy circles. The light breeze floated her hair into a halo, his breath caught at the sight and he moved his fingers through your hair. You loved the feel of his hand against you and felt a slight chill when the cold from his rings made contact with your bare skin. Even with the temperatures dropping, you didn’t feel the cold. You decided this was the moment.
“I love you.” you said softly, looking at the man who was your all and everything.
“You- love me?” his hand froze on your back and he rubbed your cheek with his thumb.
“More than life itself.” you responded without hesitating.
“I- um- sorry, I get nervous around such a pretty girl. You make my heart race, and the smell of you absolutely drives me wild.”
You looked down and blushed. Kai gently brought his fingers beneath your chin and lifted your eyes to meet his. “I love you too.”
Mind racing, his hand slid down to your throat. The cold of his silver rings gave you goosebumps and just like that- he pulled you towards him, lips colliding into a sweet and tender kiss. A kiss of passion that starry-eyed dreamers wait their whole lives for. The kiss between two people who have at long last found their soul mate. Time stood still, the universe paused to watch the epic moment of the beginning of a love story like no other.

30 UtaPri Questions
I finally got around to doing this after being tagged so here we go :3
this is supposed to go on my main but i already saved the draft before i could do anything so oh well ;w;
Your Best Boy? Natsuki, but Cecil and Camus are not too far behind.
Your Least Favorite Boy? I don’t really have any; they’re all really nice.
A Character You Never Thought You Would Love as Much as You Do Now? Y-Yamato. . . There’s just something about him that makes me happy ÚwÙ
A Character You Can Relate to in Any Way? Otoya, I guess. I’m not exactly sure on how I should put it, though.
A Character That You Think Deserved More Love? Eiichi, definitely. I know he’s messed up a lot and I don’t agree with what he did, but it’s (not really but it’s there) simple to see he means well. I know what it’s like to do something I thought as good but ended up hurting someone else through it, which in turn hurt me. He had good intentions, but went with them the wrong way. I do understand why people feel so upset and angry towards him; in a way, he has been shown in a bad light. Then again, HEAVENS in general during their very first appearance in Season 2 were depicted to be like the main villains of the series. Then again, that’s probably just me overanalyzing again. Sorry for the rambling ;w:
A Character You Would Want as Your Partner/Lover? Haruka. Just Haruka. Let me smooch.
A Character You Would Want as Your Mentor/Senpai? Reiji! I mean, he’s Reiji. And maybe Cesshi. Or Masato. Maybe Camus if I’m allowed to make fun of him.
Your Favorite Ship? NatsuCam. Such a rare pair. Like, a really fucking rare pair. Most of the content for it is mine. Haha ;w;
A Character You Want to Cosplay/Have Already Cosplayed? I’d like to try Cesshi, but I don’t know if my skin’s dark enough for that so I don’t wanna risk any chances. An alternative may be Natsuki, but then I’d be a short kinda chubby-looking Natsuki. Kira’d be nice too though! But I’m probably a little too expressive for him;;; Nagi’d be a nice fit as well, I dunno :3
Favorite Side Character? I’m not really sure if Satsuki counts as a side character since he really only shows up during Natsuki-centered episodes. If not him, then Tomochika! She. Just she.
Your Favorite Solo Song? I found myself enjoying Cesshi’s solo songs a lot. Destiny Song really brings me in. Brand New Melody has a lil something to it that makes me really happy though. I don’t know what it is, but it gives me a nice feeling inside. I also really like SUKIxSUKI Hanamaru and Hatsukoi o Mata Hajimeyou!! Those are both really nice songs that make me feel really fluffy happy inside >w<! And Melting of Snow. And Hurrayx2 Dreamers. And there’s a lot of solo songs I like. Oops.
Your Favorite Duet Song? North Wind and SunShine. I just really like that song. Like, that was the duet song my mind really stuck onto when I first started playing SL. I got attached.
Your Favorite Trio Song? Kaleidoscope. When I watched the movie in theaters, that was the one I kinda got really hooked on;;;
Your Favorite Group Song? There’s Mirai Chizu and Maj LOVE 2000% and QUARTET NIGHT and Poison KISS and HEAVENS GATE and GIRAx2 SEVEN an—
Your Least Favorite Group Song? FORCE LIVE I guess?? I mean, the chorus is okay and stuff, but the other things in the song are just not really my taste. Like the beginning. The beginning just feels so eeeeehhh to me;;;
Your Favorite Singer? I think they’re all good how do choose favorite help—
Your Favorite Group/Trio/Duo? Favorite group is hard to choose; they all are good. Favorite trio is easily either the Kawaii Group or the White Chocolate Horse/Tea Party Group (Natsuki, Ren, and Camus). Favorite duo is also very easily the Royal Group.
Your Favorite Member of STARISH? Natsuki Shinomiya. Tsuki-chan. Ye. I love he. Cesshi’s also very close behind. He sweet. Beb. I also love he.
Your Favorite Member of QUARTET NIGHT? Camus. Used to be Reiji. Sorry, maracaboo. It all started when I got his My Only Prince UR (the first MOP card I got) which in turn made me go “I guess I’ll change Natsuki for him on my screen and then I tapped him and he go “high butler voice time hewwo mistwess uwu ^-^” and I went “holy shi—
Your Favorite Member of HEAVENS? Yamato!! I love him. I love his appearance. I love his clothing choices. I love his voice. I love his personality. I. Uh. Munscklez. Ha;;;;;;;;
Your Favorite Seiyuu/Voice Actor? Why do I have to choose one? I mean, unrelated but through their seiyuus and stuff I was able to find out Mamoru is in the Japanese dub of The Lorax and that put me through a fucking loop. Thanks, Mamo :3
Favorite Drama CD? Lycoris no Mori. Shit. That was. Made me remember that Vocaloid song The Wolf Who Fell in Love with Little Red Riding Hood. Also Black Hood Cesshi. Evil boi. Just doing evil spirit boi things. Kinda caused people to murder along the way but it’s okay because in the end he’s probably still dancing over their dead bodies in the woods. Also wolf Randolph Toki red-nosed bitch. Randolph sounds really close to Rudolph, don’tcha agree? And Blood Otoya. Or Brad Otoya. Or whatever. Who in their right mind thought Blood was a good name for a boi? Like, I know he has red hair and red eyes and a red hood and red blood an— Victor. Huntsman Ren. Ren with ponytail. H. That is all. H.
Your Favorite Shining Live Card? *slams hands on table* TEA. PARTY. UR. BOIS. Natsuki please come home soon ;-;
Your Favorite Song Beatmap? Any of the ones with slide notes. Like, a lot of them. Also just any really difficult song I somehow manage to FC on the first couple tries. Like I remember there was one song for an event I was playing in only to get more LP where there was like a fuck ton of notes. I forgot if if was 800 or 900, but there were a lot. And I managed to FC it first try. Haha whoops ;w;
Your Least Favorite Song Beatmap? Nothing really comes to mind except for the lower difficulty ones. When you play a lot of Pro songs, the lower ones just kinda get boring.
Black Dejavu or White Gravity? White Gravity definitely. I can’t believe Masato said “lol bye” and joined the Kawaii and Royal Groups. Also, Natsuki’s high notes. They told him to do it twice and he said “okay :D”. I know it has a more uniform(?) singing distribution and order, but that just personally fits me and my ears better :3
UtaPri Merch That You Own/Watch? I have a Prince Cat of Citron!! And a Natsuki face towel that came along with him. I wanna get either Lime or Aqua next, but I can’t choose who. Lime because second best boi, Aqua because third best boi and shipping reasons. Also, you ever follow accounts that have Prince Cats of different sizes and have them act out as if they’re like a lil family? I want that life. Like, there’s one I follow on Twitter with Rosso and Cielo and Iris and Arancia and Verde and a lil Aqua as their child and I adore them. They use emojis to represent who’s talking and the lil Aqua’s emoji is a lollipop it’s just so cute ;-;. . .
How did You Get into UtaPri? Shining Live. I saw that Klab had another idol rhythm game on the app store and went “Why not? I haven’t had one with guydols yet?” and look where we are now;;;
A Set Theme in Shining Live That You Want to See in the Future? I’ve been having a bunch of gacha set and event ideas on a note on my phone. Like street dancer, fairytales, zodiac, zookeeper, cyber, and seven deadly sins/four horsemen as gacha ideas (some I already made art concepts for;;;). And for events, I got carhop, first date kinda thing, and ice/figure skating. In short, I want a lot :3
Why Do You Love Your Best Boy? At first, it was because he adores cute things and I adore cute things and he’s cute so I adore him. After learning more about him, I do see more similarities between the two of us. The feeling of being betrayed and growing defensive because of it, his defense being Satsuki and mine is trying to use words to help me. The need to grow stronger to not be seen as a burden, to try and not rely and depend on others to fight our battles for us. There’s probably more I can dwell upon, but that’s all I can think about for now.
Tagging: I don’t know I’m sorry ;-;. . . Anyone who wants to do this can have the go ahead.

A Conversation: Featurette
Tumblr media
“Featurette are Toronto-based duo that was formed by singer Lexie Jay and drummer, Jon Fedorsen. Like their synth-heavy dream pop contemporaries Phantogram and Tove Lo, FEATURETTE are influenced by the emotionally charged, heavy hitting electro-pop sounds coming from Northern Europe and New Zealand.”
First off, you recently released your new music video 'White Rabbit' and its damn mesmerizing, from the colors, to the costume (the rabbit costume kind of looks similar to the rabbit that was in The Masked Singer) How has the reception been for the video so far? The reception has been spectacular! Literally the story behind this one was my friend Sharon and I were sitting on a couch and I asked her what could we do that would be one idea, easy to do, that would be super memorable and dark. After much spitballing we came up with grave digging - and the rest is history! People have seemed to really connect with our post apocalyptic/area 51universe we set up so I’m pretty stoked on that :) For a couple of dreamers with 4 hours to shoot, a minimal budget and a crew of 3, I’m honestly so proud of the video. It’s punchy and striking and hits all the high notes!
Are you guys subtly hinting at a Joey Fatone of NSYNC collaboration soon (He was the white rabbit in The Masked Singer)?!!!   OMG I’ve never even seen that!! I just looked it up how crazy!! We’re not, unfortunately haha! It was a dream all our own that I think landed in a very different space! Spoiler alert, the masked rabbit was Jon haha
What was the writing process like for 'White Rabbit'? What inspired it? One of the things that occupies the most space in my brain is the state of our planet right now. I’ve written political and environmental warrior songs before, but this has been by far the most impactful. Of course we masked it with some striking alien visuals to cast a wider net in the video, but really the concept was just about setting the scene for digging a grave for humanity. The lyrics for this one were just like writing poetry for me, it really flowed and came on quite fast - the song itself came together quickly, but then the production was obviously an absolute undertaking. It’s very involved. But what’s neat with that is the further we went down the *cough* rabbit hole *cough* the more inspired we became and the further we pushed the vocal recording. Some of those choirs we built for the background just stack up for days - the outro for example, totally inspired by production because we wanted to create extreme contrast to the electronic heavy-hitting production. The result was pretty striking, it’s something we’re really happy with.
youtube
The first time we met, it was an interview you did for JUNNNKTANK (RIP) 2 years ago, when you released the song '//Bang//'. It's been too long, how has it been going since then? RIP Indeed! So much has happened - it’s been fairly internal for us, we’ve been writing non-stop to finish up this album coming out in Jan, 2020!! To recap the year: We released Million Things and the cat-filled 90’s dance troop music vid to back that up in the spring, followed by some shows. Then came the single Don’t Know Me Without You followed by the GORGEOUS black and white music video, followed by a fall tour supporting that. Then came White Rabbit and the aforementioned music video for that which we paired with the sold out Mother Mother show at the end of our fall tour. What a blast!! Now we’re staring down the barrel of the release and I’m stoked!!!
2016 was the last time you guys released your debut album 'Crave' and I must say, as like any other fan, we are 'craving' more albums. When should we expect the next? How is that writing process going? Dude. It’s here - we are like WEEKS AWAY!!! January 2020, PREPARE YOURSELF!! Spoilers in my insta story RUN, DON’T WALK!! hahaha More teasers to come in the coming weeks!!
'//Bang//' being your last video you put out 2 years ago before 'Million Things', what was that like to go back into 'lets make a video' mindset after so long? And what was happening within the middle of that time fame between the two videos? I mean it was a *year and a half* before Million Things if you want to get technical (LOL)  but it was less ‘let’s make a video’ and more…  we’re back. In the middle we were writing the album we’ve been teasing all year - three singles this year, and we’ll give you one more along with the album in January - we’ve climbed a serious mountain! I’m also (pray for me) aiming to make another music video for January. Fun fact, I did the production design and wardrobe/makeup for all videos we put out in 2019 - really love making them so I hope you’ve enjoyed watching them!!
Considering we all change as humans over a course of two years, so four years being a bigger change, and you guys being artists, so having to adjust at a quicker rate to new music trends or ideas, how much of a change from style and writing can fans expect for the next album? The album coming is very like the singles we put out this year. We tried to show as much breadth as possible - Million Things being the ‘indie pop’ side, with lots of punch, upbeat, fun etc. and then we hit the ‘deep album track’ end of thing with DKMWY. That one was darker, moodier, heavily electronic but still in your face. More recently we showed White Rabbit which was like our ‘art track’ for the album. You can expect more in each category of those! We’ve got 9 songs, and we honestly cover so much ground, while trying to maintain our sound. I think the sonic place we’ve landed is very much still FEATURETTE, but louder. More confident, more to say, we found our voice. You know?
Whats the secret to keeping content fresh and not falling within the loop of same old or losing inspiration? Omg I’m not even worried about that at all - Jon and I write all the time. We have maybe 50 songs we’ve written that are either waiting in the wings, or just something we had to get out after a crazy session at 3am haha! I think when you write all the time you can find what you start to gravitate too, and then working to develop those ideas you can start to find things that work. And those even inspire new songs! We don’t see this as our job, so we never get tired of it, which helps keep it fresh for sure.
Speaking of new, you guys released another music video titled 'Dont Know Me Without You' and you mentioned in another interview it was darker than your last single 'Million Things', is there certain head space you guys have to be in to write those kind of songs perhaps seclusion? How has the reception been from Fans and even music execs to that single in particular with its dark undertone? It’s honestly the opposite! I have to be in the headspace to write Million Things because I’m *always* in the dark headspace haha! It’s not a bad thing I just naturally gravitate towards darker music and minor songs. I think you still need the upbeat side, but I think if you listen closely to the lyrics, you’ll find they are still super dark. The track might be upbeat and major, but the lyrics are some of the saddest I write to balance that out. We’re a dark electro-pop band, we like it moody and creepy. What’s super cool is now there are the Billie Eilish’s of the world blowing up, which opens up a window for all us ‘creatures of the night’ to crawl through!
youtube
You recently were on tour and ended your tour in Kitchener with Mother Mother. How was that to open for such a cool band? How did your tour go overall? Tour was great - absolutely fantastic vibes every night, we can’t wait to get back out there next year. Playing to large audiences though like the Mother Mother show - we T H R I V E on that. The more energy in the room the harder we’ll give it back. Doesn’t matter if it’s to 8 people or 800! We actually were able to write with Ryan from Mother Mother in the summer, so it was so great to follow up with a show with them! Amazing energy.
Whats the next tour you guys have planned? We’re cooking something up for 2020 - stay tuned!!
It's really cool and inspiring to see how far you have come from, singles like '//Broken//' to 'White Rabbit', as someone who has seen Featurette flourish  from more than just a 'feature' to open up for a bigger act, to the act itself and the main event on a bigger stage, I'd like to think 2020, is the year bands like Mother Mother open up for you. How much growth have you guys been through since coming together as Featurette and have you guys ever had to overcome any doubt in the past of continuing as a band? I think any person who runs their own business or project of any kind will have doubts along the way. It’s human to doubt ourselves, but for me, it’s what I take from those moments and what I can do with those feelings that spurs me forward. How can I turn that moment into a song, because it’s so relatable right? Artists especially - it’s like the wild west! When you’re independent, you have no idea what we’re doing, or if you're doing it right or wrong. Every ’next level’ you get to you just find out how many more there are to go. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and honestly I think we’ve found our stride. When we put out Crave we were literal babies. Like the first thing we ever did was come out with an album we made all by ourselves, completely independently. That’s actually mind-blowing to me now! We could have shopped that around, built a team, but we were like: Here we are! And I love that about us. Now we’ve gone away, thought about what we want to put out in this world, and made something beautiful that I couldn’t be more proud of. I have no idea where it will take us, but I hope to have you pose the same question in a year or two and be able to give you the most insane answer about whatever ’next level’ we’re on by then. In short, we’re in it to win it, whatever that looks like for us.
Lastly, lets play rapid fire with five random questions give the answer that comes to mind first If you were not called Featurette what else would you want to be called? Futurette - because that’s what everyone thinks our band name is anyway :p… I should buy that domain… Favorite current song that isn't your own? Petit Biscuit - Wide Awake Worst question you dislike being asked? Are you guys a couple? Mind yo own beezwaxxx ! Little secret fact about you guys not many know? Alternate passions to music: Lex - Crazy Plant Lady Jon: Hockey-aholic Whats next? ALBUM TIME GUYS - JANUARY BAYBEEEE!

Things That COULD Happen - Going Our Way?
SPN FanFic Drabble
~Drama and comedy lie ahead when two fangirls meet up and take NJCon~
April ( @frenchybell ), Beka ( @impala-dreamer ), Jensen (Ackles), Jared (Padalecki), Some old creepy guy
1,042 Words (OOPS!)
Warnings: Fluffy Fluff Fluff. Awkwardness.
A/N: This is a little treat for my Frenchy because I’m so excited to meet her and others at NJCon this September. So, periodically until then I’ll be posting in this little Drabble Series, things that Could happen at the con. Yes, yes, I know they’re impossible, but it’s my daydream so if you don’t like it, skip it. They’re silly and they make me happy.
Tumblr media
“Are you sure you know where we’re goin’?” April asked, her hand gripping the support rail as she leaned over and squinted at the subway map. The red and blue lines snaked together over a cartoon picture of Manhattan, making her eyes cross as she tried to follow them.
Beka rolled her eyes and tossed her head back. “Yes, for the hundredth time, yes. Now sit down before you lose your seat!”
With a huff, April plopped down next to her friend and crossed her arms, staring around the crowded train car. A grungy looking old man across the way looked up at her, smiling as they made eye contact. She cringed and leaned over to Beka, whispering in her ear, “I think that man is staring at me.”
“That’s because you’re staring at him. Relax” Beka scolded back in a whisper.
The train slowed and the chime sounded as the doors opened. A flood of new faces came aboard, pressing themselves into the small space. April was smushed closer to Beka as a large man took the seat next to her. She gripped Beka’s arm, seeking a refuge in her friend, even if the feeling of safety was an illusion.
“Will you relax, please? We’re gonna be here all day. You’re gonna freak yourself out if you keep this up.”
April whimpered, “I’m sorry, this is all new to me!”
“You’re such a cute little Country Mouse,” Beka mocked her with a friendly smile.
Releasing her grip on Beka’s arm, April tried to relax, taking a deep breath and looking around once more. The old man winked at her, almost sending her into hysterics, but she kept herself calm and trained her eyes to the floor.
She seemed to be doing alright until the man seated next to her tapped her shoulder. She jumped, turning her head and gasping in shock. Green eyes stared at her from underneath a baseball cap. Not just any green eyes. Green eyes that sat beneath perfect lashes, aside a slightly crooked nose that was peppered with a thousand freckles. Green eyes that haunted her dreams. The green eyes of Mr. Jensen Ackles.
“Hey, I’m sorry Miss, do you know if this train goes to Times Square? I think we got turned around.”
It took a second for April’s brain to reconnect to the rest of her body, and as she took a breath to answer, she made a choice to play it cool. She cleared her throat and nodded confidently, “It sure does. Headed there myself.”
“Awesome, thanks.” He smiled and looked up at the man standing above him. “We’re good man.”
April’s eyes followed his gaze up to the the tall man holding onto the railing by the ceiling. Her eyes widened and her hand flew back to Beka’s arm, digging her nails in.
“What the hell is your problem dude? Ouch!” Beka yelped and then looked up. Her breath stopped when she beheld Jared Padalecki, in all his giant, sweaty glory, towering above them. Her eyes darted from him to April, and then to the man next to her. “Holy shit dude!” she whispered, “Are you serious!”
“Just shut up and be cool!” April hollered through clenched teeth. She turned back to Jensen with a sexy smile. “So, ya’ll doing some sightseeing?”
Jensen licked his lips and smiled, “Yeah, just a bit.”
“That’s nice. Us too.” She threw her thumb towards Beka who peeked over April’s shoulder and waved awkwardly at Jensen. “I’m just up here for the weekend. Hanging out with my friend, seeing what we see.”
“That’s nice,” Jensen answered her, an ever pleasant smile on his handsome face.
“You in town for a while?” She asked, fully knowing the answer, but trying to play it off like she didn’t know who he was. Maybe he was just a sexy stranger on the train. Maybe she was too. Maybe they could hang out and see the sights together.
Jensen laughed, “Just today. We have an event this weekend.”
“Oh, nice. I bet that’ll be fun.” Again, Jensen laughed. He covered his mouth with one hand and shook his head. “Is something funny?”
He nodded, “Yeah. I was just thinking that the usual fangirls we meet would be freaking out by now. You’re doing quite well.”
April frowned in mock confusion, “Fangirl? What? Of who?”
“Of us?” Jensen said, nodding up at Jared who waved down to her.
“Are ya’ll famous or something?” April asked, shrugging.
“Dude,” Beka leaned over and tapped her shoulder, “You’re wearing your LOVE hoodie. They know you know.”
Jensen and Jared both nodded at her, laughing. She felt the blood rush to her cheeks, reddening her face in embarrassment. “Well, shit.” She threw her hands up in surrender. “I figured I had ya’ll going and we’d surprise you on Sunday at our photo op.”
“It was a nice try,” Jensen offered.
“It was,” Jared agreed.
“It was not,” Beka teased.
April sat back with a sigh and recrossed her arms. “Can’t blame a girl for tryin’.”
When the train stopped again, Beka looked out the window behind them and announced, “Times Square! Let’s be off!” She stood and waved politely to Jared and Jensen. “Nice to meet you guys.”
After shooting a shy smile to the guys, April followed her off the train, taking a deep breath once they were on the platform. “Good Lord that was crazy!”
“Hey!”
April spun around and found Jensen exiting the train behind her.
“You guys wanna tag along for a bit? We could use a tour guide,” he asked with a shrug.
All the chill drained from April and she merely nodded quickly in response. Beka stepped up and saluted the two men, “Yes sir. At your service. Now let’s get a move on, there’s a pretzel cart usually parked right at the top of those stairs over there and my tummy is rumblin’!”
Jensen gave another chuckle and lay his hand on Beka’s shoulder, “Lead the way!”
As the girls walked off, their favorite actors in tow, Beka leaned down to whisper in April’s ear, “I fuckin told you this weekend would be awesome.”
April agreed, giddy as she looked over her shoulder, “Dude, I’ll never doubt you again.”

[Outline Draft]
A THEORETICAL REINTERPRETATION OF THE WORLDVIEW ACCORDING TO THE PERENNIAL PHILOSOPHY
by ftmaiello
"Creation out of Desire is an eternal phenomenon."
"The only thing I'm absolutely certain about is that I can't be absolutely certain about ANYYHING." - ftm
ABSTRACT
This little treatise seeks to prove that there is no beginning or end to our manifesting in the relative world. That we in fact have an eternal desire to experience this sense-bound dimension, followed by our desire to have it sustained, to then eventually be released from it, duly take our rest, where eventually our desire to "physicalize" will once again be rekindled, and thus the pattern "has been set." (The Akashic Record+ indicates it technically never had an actual beginning; nor will it ever end..)
In other words, this Desire will eternally reassert itself, in a sine-wave form, adhering to the same "breathing process" dynamic found in all expressions of living cycles: day and night, the beat of the heart, the change of seasons, cycles of the sun and moon, etc.
That, furthermore, there will always be an interplay between the Light and the Dark; that there can never be a time where an idyllic, utopian world will exist, since, among other reasons, it wouldn't be desirable to begin with, as everything would become predictable and quite naturally boring. Challenge and the unexpected are indispensable for life to thrive.
INTRODUCTION
To my understanding, it's possible to achieve enlightenment and yet have fundamental misconceptions regarding the role and function of the Ego and the World.
How can this be?
Because enlightenment is the result of:
1. Realizing "I am That IAm" (viz identifying one's individual Self or Atman with Its source Singularity Field of the Absolute Be-ness or Brahman++); and 2. Realizing that the primal essence of both the Atman and Brahman are, in the last analysis, unfathomable Mysteries. (They can be seen collectively as the Mysterium Tremendum.)
"It doesn't matter what we think or believe, we will be what we are, reality will be what it is, and all will unfold as it must." - ftm
THE PRIMORDIAL ONTOLOGICAL QUESTION
If not from the Absolute Be-ness++, where did the World, whether we consider it real or unreal, actually derive from? Can we say the World was created by something apart from Brahman, the Ground of All Being?
Now, no amount of intellectual posturing, using abstractions such as metaphors, dialectics, inferences, deductive reasoning, etc, can usurp, trivialize, or make disappear, this simple, direct, and unavoidable question.
For example, the numerous metaphors used to prove that Maya afterall resolves itself into being merely an illusion is academic in reality since, as long as the illusion persists, it affects a palpable emotional change in the one perceiving it...it affects an emotion that cannot be *justifiably* denied.
If, therefore, we can agree that the Absolute Be-ness can be the only ultimate efficient cause of the World, and since, as a result of it, we [as sentient beings manifesting within its domain.....indeed, sentient beings who ARE Its own Self, pluralized/"externalized"] will inevitably finally be subjected to sickness, old age, and death, it's therefore reasonable to come to regard it as something undesirable.
Considering the above, are we to hence conclude [Its] creation is the result of an unintentional accident or mistake on the part of Brahman, the Source Absolute?
This is what's being implied by most of our best Vedic philosophers, including apparently the majority of our most renowned and lauded sages ("apparently" because it is their *followers* who came to misinterpret their teachings!), who as a result strive to be liberated from Samsara (the Wheel of Rebirth) and "return once and for all to the Source, to never again come back into 'dense physical form', thank you very much!"
I regard the logic behind this to be not only counter-intuitive, but naive and incomplete.
Can it possibly be that my observation could be correct, and the vast majority who see it the classical way, be completely erroneous?
To answer this..
First of all, anything is possible.
Secondly, there could be a very good reason why such an all-encompassing philosophical blunder has been perpetrated and managed to prevail,...moreover, to do so for multiple thousands of years!
That reason is simply the Kali Yuga: The Age of Darkness and Ignorance that has led us into some fundamental misunderstandings re what the great sages actually taught. (Add to this the lost knowledge from the destruction of the Library of Alexandria, Egypt.)
A REINTERPRETATION
What will be attempted here is to reveal the common denominator threading three of the most pivotal and definitive teachings in Eastern philosophy, all of which are non-dual in essence: 1. Gotama Siddhartha's Mahayana Buddhism, 2. Nagarjuna's Madhyamaka or "Two Truth" Buddhism (which is widely considered a clarification of Gotama's teaching), and 3. Adi Sankara's revival and refinement of Advaita Vedanta.
(Note: There has recently emerged in the West a philosophical approach based on Advaita Vedanta, which has come to be called "Non-dual Philosophy." I contend, however, that its proponents are failing to address the originally intended Vedantic meaning of "non-dual" (not-two). Which is to say, what *pair* of concepts or things is Advaita referring to?)
Now, by analyzing the true import of Adi Sankara's interpretation of Advaita Vedanta+++, a pivotal concept and its corresponding insight readily materializes.
There are three fundamental axioms Sankara based his teaching on (which contain the above insight).
These are taken from the 20th verse of his document, Brahmajnanavalimala++++:
ब्रह्म सत्यं जगन्मिथ्या जीवो ब्रह्मैव नापरः ।
अनेन वेद्यं सच्छास्त्रमिति वेदान्तडिण्डिमः ॥ २०॥
1. Brahma satyam,
2. Jagat mithya,
3. Jivo Brahmaiva naparah.
Translation:
1. Brahman is the only reality,
2. The world [*as* world, unto itself] is unreal,
3. There is ultimately no difference between the individual Self (Atman) and Brahman.
Now, here's the key point: in the 3rd axiom, the word "jiva" is translated as the individual Self or Atman. (Note: This is *also* referring to the ego with *all* its trappings! This is the very baseline of what the individual expresses himself to be, from the most primitive and unevolved levels of the human ego to its most advanced. In other words, the term "jiva" in this translation is inclusive of 1. the base or lower ego, 2. the jivatman (the human Soul or reincarnating Ego), and 3. the Atman (the true Self, which is identical to Brahman++)).
The jiva can also be represented within Sankara's axioms as the tripartite "Sohamidam": Soh = the Creator God or Saguna Brahman; Aham = the jiva or human ego; and Idam = the relative World.
The following fact cannot be avoided or remain unacknowledged, regardless of what leap in logic can be potentially applied, such as the many examples showing how the substratum Brahman over-rides the appearances of Maya, rendering it utterly illusory. Among the most famous analogies are the snake in the rope, the mirage on the desert, and the gold in the jewelry. However, these do not remove the experience itself *during the time* that Maya is persisting. In other words, the bad dream affects the dreamer in the midst of the dream, no matter how much the logic reveals it's an illusion *after the fact*. Therefore THE FACT REMAINS irrespective of how much and how vigorously it's proven to be merely a temporal phenomenon!
Now, what follows further reinforces the real *component* of Maya (as shown above) from an entirely different viewpoint:
Whatever caused the [implied by definition] homeostatic state of Brahman to eventually stir and thus create the world of Maya, will do so again after it recapitulates or re-sets Itself to Its prior stable state (or *apparently* stable state in Its Pralaya or Dormant Mode). Now, if the question arises, why would It do so? Pat comes the answer: because the exact same condition exists once *again*!; nothing has or even could have changed.
This relates to the selfsame cyclical phenomenon that applies to virtually every process and event in nature from the quantum to the cosmic scale. +++++
From yet another angle of perspective, the world phenomenon can also be evaluated thus:
From the Paramarthika or Brahman-based, Singularity Field perspective, it is mithya or purely an illusion.
From the Vyavaharika or Brahman's Lila or relative world-Game perspective, it is Maya, which is *relatively* real. This is why we have to yet play by the world's rules, such as not putting a gun to our head and pulling the trigger! Lol
In circa 1995, my older son was having a problem in school and I told him to "Act as though everything matters; yet *be* as though nothing does."
__________
+ The Akashic Record can only be accessed psychically, which is to say it is accomplished through the buddhic or intuitive faculty of the mind. (Nikola Tesla also said that his inventions were conceived using the information he obtained through the Akashic Record. As did many other physicists, such as Planck, Shroedinger, and Heisenberg.)
++ aka The Absolute Existence, the Godhead, Shunyata, the Tao, Ain Soph, Nagual, the Source Singularity, the ALL-ONE, etc.
+++ Although Adi Sankara (Shankaracharya), CE 800, is considered the father of Advaita Vedanta, it actually existed before him. What he did was revive it, further clarify it, and established it throughout India, to the point of its having come to represent the Sanatana Dharma (translated as The Eternal Way/Truth; and what is called Hinduism in the West).
+++++ Here's mathematical proof of a cyclical time scale of events eternally repeating itself:

Dave Ramsey Baby Steps Explained: Advantages & Disadvantages
Did you know that millions of people have followed and completed Dave Ramsey’s famous baby steps to financial freedom?
It’s a clear path that is easy to follow, and statistics show they work. Or do they? A quick Google search on Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps will show you conflicting opinions on both sides of the argument, so who do you believe?
For example, we wrote a viral article on how Dave Ramsey is outdated and outlined our own 12 toddler steps to financial freedom.  We have a reboot article titled 15 Dave Ramsey tips that will change your life forever.
Well, we’ve made it easier for you to analyze by laying out a few advantages and disadvantages of Dave Ramsey’s 7 Baby Steps.
The Baby Steps
If you’re reading this, you’re probably at least somewhat familiar with the seven baby steps and how they work. If not, no worries! Here’s a brief outline to refresh your memory:
Step One: Save at least $1,000 (or $500 for those with lower incomes) to have an emergency fund for unexpected financial events.
Step Two: Using the “Debt Snowball,” pay off all your debts except for the mortgage. That includes car loans, credit cards, lines of credit, personal loans, and even student loans.
Step Three: Strengthen your emergency fund and save at least 3 – 6 months of living expenses for unexpected events such as loss of a job, health expenses, etc. That is an essential part of the financial planning pyramid.
Step Four: Save at least 15% of your total household income and set it aside for retirement.
Step Five: If you plan on having children, and plan on paying for their education, save up enough to pay for their college expenses.
Step Six: Pay off your mortgage and any home loans early. This also includes second mortgages such as a home equity line of credit or home equity loan.
Step Seven: Continue to save and build your wealth while also giving to others.
The baby steps are laid out to attack the most urgent financial tasks upfront while making plans to save a large portion of your income for retirement and building wealth after that. View Dave Ramsey’s website for more details on the seven baby steps.
Advantages
As you can see, it’s a pretty straight forward plan. Seven steps to follow, easy to understand, and has worked for millions of people already! Some common advantages of using Dave Ramsey’s baby step system are:
It’s an Already Proven process
There are probably hours upon hours of study, organization, and analysis of basic personal financial priorities behind the baby steps. Don’t reinvent the wheel! What’s the point in recreating something that is already working?
Many people don’t want to deal with the hassle of meeting with a financial planner, calculating their forecasted savings growth, how quickly they will pay off their debt, etc. just to improve their financial situation. They want something that’s proven and easy to follow. That’s where the baby steps can be very advantageous because it’s proven, it’s easy, and it just works.
Little to No Financial Education Required
Anyone with a high school diploma (or even less than) can follow the baby steps. It doesn’t take complicated math; it doesn’t take having a background in personal finance, nor does it even take calculating where you’re paying the most interest on your loans!
Still not sure whether you know enough about personal finance? I’ll educate you in one sentence that will prepare you with the necessary knowledge needed to follow Dave Ramsey’s Baby steps. Here it is: Save for an emergency, pay off debt, save more and build wealth, then give to others. There you have it!
You Have Lots of Resources Available to You
Dave Ramsey started Ramsey Solutions in 1992 to help as many people financially as possible. That’s nearly 30 years of financial expertise from one resource, and it was all built around the concept of the seven baby steps he teaches. To say you have a lot of resources available to you when following his plan is an understatement.
Aside from the free website content, education, radio shows, podcast episodes, and free budgeting app, Dave Ramsey provides his audience with even more resources such as:
SmartVestor: a list of trusted financial experts that Dave has vetted and ensured they follow his same money beliefs.
Endorsed Local Provider (ELP): A list of trusted agents vetted by Dave and his team. This ranges anywhere from insurance experts, real estate agents, and even tax consultants.
SmartDollar: A financial wellness solution for businesses to teach employees financial behavioral change.
Ramsey Personalities: Many experts of Ramsey Solutions have partnered with Dave and written books, built courses, and even host their radio shows that are all available to Dave’s audience. Disadvantages
Among those reading are dreamers, entrepreneurs, small business owners, and high achievers on a mission to change the world.  Those of us who fall within these personalities or similar mindsets, there are some setbacks to following Dave Ramsey’s baby steps. Some of them are:
It takes time
Sure, most things related to money takes time before it blossoms. However, some ways may be quicker to build wealth than following the seven baby steps. For example, an average individual who makes $50,000 per year and wants to start on baby step one saving $1,000, it could take 3-6 months if you only have $200 – $300 each month to spare. The same is true when paying off debt and building your 3-6 months’ worth of living expenses emergency fund.
Someone might argue that consolidating your debt into one low interest-bearing loan both saves you time and money to pay off your debt. Others might say to have one credit card with a $1,000 to use as your emergency fund so you can focus on putting that money where it has a more significant impact. To each their own!
The Baby Steps Doesn’t Distinguish Between Good Debt and Bad Debt.
It is advised within the baby steps to have zero debt – EVER. That means no mortgage, no small business loans, and no car loans. When following Dave Ramsey, all debt is bad debt. Sure, we may all agree on this to an extent. But someone may argue that they’d instead put their $15,000 in an investment that bears 7% – 10% annual returns rather than buying a $15,000 car in cash.
Where’s the financial harm when your net return is still 7% if you get a 10% return in the stock market with your $15,000 at the cost of paying 2.99% on your car loan? Where is the math terrible when you pay 4.99% on a $50,000 business loan that will result in increasing your business income by 30%? Would you pay 4.99% to make 30%? Absolutely!
Home Ownership Is Hard to Fit in With the Baby Steps
If you already own a home when you first start the baby steps, it’s advised that you either sell it, pay it off asap, or refinance it to a 15-year mortgage term. If you don’t own a home when you first start the baby steps, you’re advised to buy in cash or get a home on a 15-year mortgage that doesn’t cost any more than 25% of your total household take-home pay (that means your income after taxes have been withheld).
In other words, if you make $50,000 per year, your take-home pay will be close to about $3,200 per month. Following Dave Ramsey’s 25% rule, with monthly take-home pay of $3,200, you can afford a mortgage payment of about $800 per month. Depending on your mortgage loan interest rate, this means you can only afford a home in the price range of $160,000 to $180,000 at most. If you can’t fit within these parameters, Dave Ramsey advises that you rent instead.
What Path to Take
Who are the baby steps really for? You have to realize that Dave Ramsey caters to a particular niche audience. His listeners mostly consist of people living paycheck to paycheck, lower than average incomes, and poor credit scores. Don’t get me wrong, not EVERYONE who listens to Dave Ramsey fits this profile, just a large portion. In all reality, if someone who fits this niche profile wishes to take out a $100,000 business loan, would you think it’s a wise move? Perhaps that person should clean up their finances some first.
To determine the best approach for you, take an honest look at your financial scenario. What is your current income? How much debt do you have? How much do you have in savings? What does your credit look like? Be honest with yourself!
Next, look at your financial goals and financial beliefs. Where do you want to be five years from now or even ten years from now? Are you someone that believes that owning a home and having a small car payment at the expense of investing your money to get a higher return? The answer to these questions will point you in the right direction.
The bottom line: Dave Ramsey’s baby steps work. There is no question about it. It’s a proven system and has improved millions of people’s financial well-being. It’s up to you to determine how ambitious you want to be with your finances and wealth-building!

Dave Ramsey Baby Steps: Are You Prepared For The Next Crisis?
Dave Ramsey Baby Steps: Advantages & Disadvantages
[Editor’s Note: Today’s article in a guest post from Dr. Adebayo Fasanya who blogs at Dr Breathe Easy Finance.  He’s a pulmonary and critical care doctor by day, a personal finance blogger/debt slaying ninja at night. After paying off $300,000 in student loan debt, he started a mission to help other young professionals do the same.]
Take it away Dr. Fasanya……………………………………………….
Did you know that millions of people have followed and completed Dave Ramsey’s popular baby steps to financial freedom?
That is an essential part of the financial planning pyramid
3 Advantages
As you can see, it’s a pretty straight forward plan. Seven steps to follow, easy to understand, and has worked for millions of people already!
Some common advantages of using Dave Ramsey’s baby step system are:
1) It’s an already proven process
There are probably hours upon hours of study, organization, and analysis of basic personal financial priorities behind the baby steps. Don’t reinvent the wheel! What’s the point in recreating something that is already working?
Many people don’t want to deal with the hassle of meeting with a financial planner, calculating their forecasted savings growth, how quickly they will pay off their debt, etc. just to improve their financial situation.
They want something that’s proven and easy to follow. That’s where the baby steps can be very advantageous because it’s proven, it’s easy, and it just works.
2) Little to no financial education required
Anyone with a high school diploma (or even less than) can follow the baby steps. It doesn’t take complicated math; it doesn’t take having a background in personal finance, nor does it even take calculating where you’re paying the most interest on your loans.
Still not sure whether you know enough about personal finance? I’ll educate you in one sentence that will prepare you with the necessary knowledge needed to follow Dave Ramsey’s Baby steps.
Here it is: Save for an emergency, pay off debt, save more and build wealth, then give to others.
There you have it.
3) You have lots of resources available to you
Dave Ramsey started Ramsey Solutions in 1992 to help as many people financially as possible.
Ramsey Personalities: Many experts of Ramsey Solutions have partnered with Dave and written books, built courses, and even host their own radio shows are all available to Dave’s audience. Some experts include Chris Hogan, Rachel Cruze, Christy Write, Anthony O’Neal, Ken Coleman, and John Delony.

The Royal Wedding Received Triple the Media Coverage of Yemen in 2018 - Antiwar.com
New Post has been published on https://harryandmeghan.xyz/the-royal-wedding-received-triple-the-media-coverage-of-yemen-in-2018-antiwar-com/
The Royal Wedding Received Triple the Media Coverage of Yemen in 2018 - Antiwar.com
The ongoing war in Yemen, called the world’s “worst humanitarian disaster” by the United Nations and independent aid agencies since early last year, received a grand combined total of 20 minutes of coverage on the ABC, NBC, and CBS weekday evening news programs in 2018.
That compared to a total of 71 minutes that the three major networks devoted to the British royal wedding and a combined total of 100 minutes dedicated to the rescue of a dozen young cave explorers from flooding in Thailand, according to the latest annual compilation by the authoritative Tyndall Report.
By contrast, the brutal murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in September received a total of 116 minutes of coverage by the three networks, making it one of the very few foreign-based stories to make it into the top 20 most-covered network news events in 2018.
Although the Thai cave rescue was clearly a dramatic, emotional, and easily accessible story of the kind that lends itself very well to television news, the number of lives at stake were a tiny fraction of those estimated to have been killed in Yemen (50,000-80,000 combatants and noncombatants), not to mention the deaths of well over 100,000 more civilians, including at least 80,000 children under the age of five who have succumbed to malnutrition or disease.
Some 360,000 children there are currently suffering from severe acute malnutrition, while some 20 million Yemenis are unable to “reliably feed themselves or their families [and] almost 10 million are just one step away from famine,” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said this week. The latter figure amounts to nearly half the population of the Arab world’s poorest nation.
Falling Foreign Coverage
Overall, the lack of coverage of the Yemen disaster is symptomatic of negative trends regarding foreign news coverage by the major networks, which together remain the biggest single source of international news in the United States. An average of more than 22 million households tune into the nightly newscasts, or about four times the number of those that watch any of the three major cable channels – Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN – on a given evening.
Indeed, this year’s Tyndall Report found that network coverage from overseas fell to the lowest point since its publisher, Andrew Tyndall, began systematically tracking and coding the three weeknight newscasts in 1988. Altogether, foreign datelines accounted for only 7.5% of all the news generated by those programs (1,092 minutes out of 14,354 minutes) in 2018. (Each half-hour newscast contains an average of roughly 22 minutes of news content.)
“Foreign bureaus have never been so little used,” noted Tyndall in his latest report. “2018 marked a general abdication of the traditional role of the nightly newscasts, which used to provide a daily summary of major national and international news developments,” he told LobeLog in an email.
“Of particular note,” he added, “the top 30 foreign news stories [covered by the three networks’ newscasts] contained no mention of the two major western hemisphere elections – in Brazil and Mexico – and none of the major crisis in Europe; namely Brexit.”
Moreover, he wrote in his email,
the overarching international crisis facing the globe as a whole – climate change – was little covered as such, although its symptoms such as wildfires and hurricanes were presented prominently. These symptoms were confined to their domestic occurrence, however, rather than the manifestations of climate change on a global scale.
I am very pessimistic about the nightly newscasts reforming themselves and ever reverting to their traditional global mission.
Precisely because of its unparalleled reach and the influence of its major sponsors (compared to cable news advertisers), network news has always been designed to appeal to the greatest number of viewers. In important ways, the network news agenda – as shallow, superficial, sensationalistic, and increasingly inward as it is – reveals how Americans see and understand events and trends overseas.
What Did and Didn’t Get Attention
The single most network-covered story of the year, according to Tyndall’s tally was the nomination and confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh at 426 minutes, followed by the ongoing probes into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election (332 minutes).
Three of the next four biggest stories involved extreme weather and its consequences – the California wildfires (242), severe winter weather (234), and Hurricane Florence in the Carolinas (203). Hurricane Michael in Florida was the eleventh biggest story (134 minutes). But, as in past years, these reports, totaling over 800 minutes, were focused almost exclusively on the anticipation and immediate impact of these events rather than the possible relationship between them and climate change.
Aside from the Russian investigations, North Korean-U.S. summitry was the top foreign-policy story, clocking in at 212 minutes, making it the year’s fifth-biggest story overall. The detention of migrant children (189) ranked seventh, tied with the Parkland High School mass shooting in Florida, which was followed in turn by coverage of school safety and violence prevention more generally (184). The prosecution of President Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, (164) ranked tenth, the winding down of the campaign against the Islamic State in Syria (133) ranked twelfth, followed by coverage of the flu season (130) and accusations of partisan bias by the FBI and Khashoggi’s assassination (116 minutes each). Police killings of civilians and the federal budget and deficit (112 each), followed by the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics (111), the Facebook controversy (107), and coverage of the Christmas holiday season (105), rounded out the top 20.
As for foreign stories, all things Russia-related – including the alleged election interference (332), U.S.-Russia diplomacy including the Helsinki summit (92); Russian-British diplomacy and the poisoning of the Russian ex-spy (54); and US-Russian spy-related events (23) – led the pack with a total of 501 minutes, or a little over three percent of total nightly newscasts.
Immigration-related coverage accounted for nearly the same amount of coverage (493 minutes). It included the detention of migrant children (189), border restrictions and “the wall” (96), immigration reform more generally (75), Central American migrants and caravans (50), DACA Dreamers seeking permanent status (36), crackdowns on undocumented immigrants and deportations (27), and asylum-seekers (20).
The Koreas were the top foreign-policy story: In addition to the 212 minutes devoted to the summit between Trump and Kim, inter-Korean diplomacy accounted for 48 minutes, and North Korea’s nuclear weapons and missile programs for another 42 minutes, bringing the total to just over 300 minutes (or about two percent of total programming), not counting the 111 minutes on the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
The Syrian civil war and Trump’s (now-modified) decision to withdraw U.S. troops were the next most-covered foreign-related stories (133), followed by Khashoggi’s assassination (116), the cave rescue in Thailand (100), the royal wedding (71), ongoing fighting in Afghanistan (54), U.S.-China trade frictions (52), and steel and aluminum import tariffs (37).
The Israel-Palestinian conflict, NATO-US diplomacy (notably Trump’s trip to Brussels), and the Iran nuclear deal, including Washington’s withdrawal from it, each earned a grand total of 29 minutes of coverage by the three networks, while the earthquake in Indonesia (26) and the eruption of the volcano in Guatemala (23) gained more than Yemen’s 20 minutes in the network spotlight, one minute more than was devoted to Trump’s quick visit to London and the Lion Air jet crash (19 minutes each).
Hopes among various humanitarian, human-rights, and peace groups that the media’s strong focus on Khashoggi’s killing would draw greater public attention to the catastrophic toll suffered by the civilian population during the four-year-old Saudi-led campaign against Houthi rebels and their allies in Yemen seem to have been disappointed, according to Tyndall’s findings. Of the total 20 minutes devoted to Yemen in 2018, 13 minutes preceded the Saudi journalist’s death and only seven minutes followed it. The relatively greater (but still pathetic) amount of attention before the September assassination came mostly as a result of dire warnings issued by the UN earlier in the spring. (Of the 20 minutes, CBS accounted for 11, while NBC and ABC split the remainder.)
The lack of media attention to Yemen post-Khashoggi, however, did not translate into congressional indifference. Motivated in major part by a campaign led by the Post itself (as well as other print media), Congress expressed its anger by taking up a series of resolutions that have gained momentum this year to curb US support for the Saudi-led campaign in Yemen.
America’s Worldview
If the network evening news provides as good a measure as any of how Americans perceive the world outside US borders, it’s not a great picture. As noted by Tyndall himself, South America and sub-Saharan Africa, with a combined population of nearly two billion, simply failed to register in the news. The rise of authoritarian movements in Europe also appeared to draw a blank, as did South and Southeast Asia (apart from the cave rescue).
And, despite the multi-trillion-dollar commitment by the United States to stabilizing and securing the Middle East region over the last two decades, there wasn’t much evidence of its existence on network television besides the last throes of the campaign against the Islamic State in Syria and the Khashoggi killing. Iraq, to which Washington has sent well over a million troops since the 2003 invasion, didn’t even make the top 30 foreign stories in 2018.
Both Israel and Iran can probably take some satisfaction from their relatively small media footprint last year. The increasingly bellicose fulminations from Trump, Bolton, and Pompeo against Tehran are unlikely to get much popular backing – let alone public enthusiasm for a new military conflict in the Middle East – in the absence of far more intense (and negative) coverage of the kind that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been getting since the Khashoggi murder.
Israel, too, can be happy with its relative obscurity. Despite the hundreds of casualties inflicted by Israeli bullets on Palestinian demonstrators along the Gaza border last year, coverage of Israel-Palestine actually fell by nearly 50 percent, from the 42 minutes the networks devoted to the conflict in 2017, which was already a record low, to a mere 29, according to Tyndall’s calculations over the previous 30 years.
Jim Lobe served for some 30 years as the Washington DC bureau chief for Inter Press Service and is best known for his coverage of US foreign policy and the influence of the neoconservative movement. He is the currator for LobeLog.

The disc is a national matter. The LAPD calls on group to calm down, worrying that pieces like "Tube when police " was the soundtrack to a riot-as in fact there will be, in 1992, following the Rodney King conquering to death, another history. Mutual insults, battles of the war begins. Although above all, Dr. Dre, commences a new level musical. In 1992, collectively with Marion "Suge" Knight-more questionable character-based Death Line records went and released his solo debut The Chronic, still regarded as a cornerstone of hip hop. From the ashes of gangsta reputation, G-Funk was born and is also another revolution that brings with it new interpreters. Warren G, that of Dre's stepbrother. Snoop Puppy Dogg, hacking with Dre's "nothing but a" G "thang ", a chiaro of sorts. And especially Tupac Shakur, undisputed full of rap on the West coast until her violent and untimely end. Behind their successes, always the same hand, with Dr. Dre. And at the rear of the hand that is, more or less 20 million records sold in only 1995. La call the golden era, the golden age of Californian rap, nevertheless they are also years of blood. Tupac passes away in Las Vegas in 1996, shot down with a flurry of photographs as well as months later the same fate touches in his great rival, the New Yorker fate Notorius B. I. G. The moment this happens, Dr. Dre has recently left Death Line, Suge Knight and hot debate with partner founded his own lay-flat eselskab, Wake. For the three 12 months delay doing work in the wake up of the chronic but not satisfied and regularly release.Because this is Dr. Dre, basically: a tailor who creates custom products Creative crisis? Most likely. But if you think the parable of Doctor. Dre's downhill, but you are incredibly wrong. Is in 1997, where Chief Jimmy Iovine, Interscope's garage-the sticker if after effects is a subsidiary-find a trial. In order to compromise it, a white artist from Detroit named Marshall Mathers, but calling him or her self Eminem, or Slim Questionable. His rhymes are sick and tired, psychotic. In him, Dre misses and also the epic gangsta of Nwa, nor abuse, but a paranoid Tupac mix creepy between paradox and despair, introspection and social satire.Sniffing success, Dr. Dre, convinces Iovine put him under agreement and built around a sound that had never heard before. Guitars and rock drums, harpsichords, alarms build healthy texture now farcical now tragic that on rhymes from Eminem fits like a suit of tailoring. Because this is Dr. Dre, essentially: a tailor who creates custom-made products, not someone like Pharrell or Timbaland or Kanye West who leave marks on everything they produce. The relationship between the two is one of the most successful in the record of rap, not least, to put in several like 30 million clones sold with just four albums, two of which-The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show-is located on the second and third place best vendors rap ever album graphs. If we add several. 6 million copies sold in 2001, the second album by Doctor Dre, who finally sees the light in 1999, and 8 million of "get rich or die tryin" 50 cent, Eminem, with comprodotto we are almost 50 million records sold in just over five years.

Wayne Paul McCartney was given birth to 18. June 1942 in Liverpool England. His family live near Allerton simply a mile from the home of John Lennon. The two, who met at a party the same parish quickly become friends, share his passion of music. The first thought then, as happens every self-respecting teen dream, is to form a group and so they were immediately put to work to accomplish this ardent desire. Basically it can be said that in these distant start formed the core of the future Beatles, if we believe it is soon co-opted George Harrison and later, drummer Ringo Starr. Shaped in ' 56 this group of beardless males will be the Beatles in 1960. Personalities of three are differentiated enough, although, naturally, some elements are leaning more to the offence while others are more balanced; being the case with centered Paul straight away with the composition of the kind of poignant lyrical music, there will be a characteristic feature. In addition to the serious musician and performer how much keep in mind the pure instrumental music, especially technical aspect, which soon will be, from a simple bass player, a true musician, dares himself with guitar and some with keyboards. This means that another highlight in music performer McCartney is the wedding. Of the four then Paul is without a question the most angelic that I believe appeal to mothers and girls from good families. He will keep the press relations, working with public relations and fan, in contrast to the picture worn and worn, there would always misunderstood genius and "banded". Needless to say, this is the time when the other genius of the Quartet, John Lennon, will sign his most memorable songs; many of the most memorable tunes of "cockroaches" (this is the meaning of the beatles in Italian), is actually signed by both. Are pieces, where even today fans argue over who is going to be critical contributions: If perhaps Paul or John. The facts lies somewhere in the Middle, or in other words that both were major talents, which thankfully has lavished plenty for the Beatles ' eternal glory. However, it should not be forgotten that the greatest album of the English Quartet, the album, which was considered to be the greatest rock ie ever written, "Sgt Pepper", is essentially the work of Paul. In the middle of all this, but a term shopping for George Harrison, talent by no means despicable and there would in fact also justifies the term "genius". Location of the Beatles was what it was and it is useless to trace here the glories of the greatest group ever existed. Go here, however, recalled that during the parable descendant, is profit on McCartney if went to port jobs are designed to try to revive the luck of the Group; including the film "Magical Mystery Concert tours " or as the documentary truth " very well "Let it be". In addition, it must be definitely recalled Paul's insistence because the band selected to perform live. But by the end of the Beatles was close by and no person could do anything about it... 12 March 1969 in fact Paul marries Bela Eastman and log changes in their lives. Since a beatle, gives enthusiasts one last big test on the album "Abbey Road" (1969), but in December of that 12 months he announced his giving the group. A few months after the Beatles ceases to exist. McCartney always flanked by the faithful Linda, commences a fresh career, alternating solo studies of good quality music tracks and collaborations with other musicians. One of the most enduring is that sees him surrounded by wings, he wanted in 1971-group and which, in fact, even in line with the experts, will never be much more than a simple emanation of genius Uk. His career is, nevertheless , a number of success, among Awards, Gold information, and record sales: in 1981, experience with flapping ends. Inside the years 80 Paul McCartney goes on his hot streak heading back and forth with stars like Stevie Ponder or Michael Jackson, live, and again after a long period, sings "Let it Be" in the grand ending of Bob Geldof Live Aid London, 1985. Nevertheless the real return "on stage" takes place in 1989, with a world travel for almost 12 several weeks will show you in great condition with music artists from large caliber. Intended for the first time since the break-up Mccartney perform live many of the most famous tunes by the Beatles. In 1993, " new world " tour, so the surprise: Paul, George and Ringo are assembled in the Studio in 95 to focus on two music unsolved by John, "Free as a bird" and "real love", two new Beatles song " very well after quarter of a century.

Hi, Chels! Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you! You deserve every follower and more! That is a threat, I'm holding everyone hostage 🔪
I would love to get a MHA matchup, I wanna see who you'd match me with! Got me so curious! SFW & NSFW if you'd be willing!
My name is Chloe but I prefer May, nicknames include May-May, Maybell or Chlo.
I'm 25, pronouns are she/he, Cancer Moon, Aries Sun and Virgo Rising. Quite the weird mash of zodiacs, huh?
My favorite colors are pink (that soft pastel kinda baby pink), red (especially blood/garnet red) and...can I add pink again? Any shade of pink this time. Bubblegum or hot pink.
Favorite AU's include A/B/O, Mafia, Historical, Fantasy and does Mythical Creatures count?
Oh...oh boy, I gotta look deep for some fun facts that aren't just...facts but I'll do my best!
1) My sneezes are so short and high pitched I go "chu".
2) I have vitiligo, makes me look like a dog because it's mostly around my mouth and my right eye so I have a spot!
3) I have atrocious balance, my knees and shins are always banged up because I cannot for the life of me walk correctly.
4) I have a stutter, on top of speaking so quickly it turns into a jumbled mess. So good luck understanding what I said because I have no idea either.
5) I have a growing unicorn plush collection. My favorite is Cupcake, one that's actually taller than I am. Big chunk.
My likes are pretty simple. Cute & soft sweaters, blankets, warm coffee and strawberry milk, pastries and the cold! Winter is my favorite season. History, particularly the Medieval and Victorian times.
My interests revolve around creativity and you could say they're my hobbies as well. Drawing in particular, I used to do digital but I'm stuck with traditional pencil and paper at the moment. I'm dipping my toes into painting and its very fun! Obviously writing and reading and if I'm not doing of those listed then I'm definitely playing video games.
Personality I might say I'm quite split down the middle. At first, to a complete stranger I might come across as cold, stoic, with a resting bitch face, that just wants to get whatever I'm outside for done so I can leave. I'd create a witty or sarcastic comeback if I was given sass by a Karen but with my speech issues? I'd be lucky to get one coherent word out at her...and spend the rest of the day fantasizing what could've happened. So I'm rather quiet, agoraphobia hits hard in large or crowded places so I'm an anxiety riddled mess on the verge of a panic attack. In private or with people that I'm comfortable with? Complete opposite. Happy, bubbly, cracking puns and jokes so get those groan worthy reactions. I try to be the "mom friend" and get over my issues if someone is having it worse, I'll march up to a counter and ask for ketchup if someone wanted it but was too scared to do it themselves. The shoulder to lean and cry on, I'm highly empathetic and understanding, compassionate at times. But I have to actively try and keep myself positive and say good things about myself because I do fall into the pit of self-loathing and hate.
For appearance I'd say I'm average height, pale with white splotches that are inching larger due to my vitiligo, chubby, ashy blonde, blue eyes, button nose. I'd say I'm decently cute? I don't know if I can rate myself.
Okay I know I said I'd be looking into Zodiac compatibility for this but— I literally just screamed internally "KIRISHIMA" when I was reading this. You two would be perfect omg. This Libra king would do anything for you. For this you're an artist and the daughter of a mafia boss :) I like to think of ship names sometimes so like, yours would either be like Eijmay or Mayjirou or Kiriloe— that last one and first are awful I know so lets go with the second? I can't write a proper stutter for the life of me so I tried to keep your dialogue to the minimum.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Pairing: Eijirou Kirishima
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀AU: Mafia
⠀Theme Song: You're The One That I Want - Alex & Sierra
Tumblr media
How you meet (his point of view):
⠀⠀The gallery was full of black and white suits, tight, floor length dresses with the sounds of laughter and clinking glasses meeting his ears. It was a joyous evening, celebrating the wonderful art work created by the boss's daughter. He had never met her before but he had heard whispers, all good as no one would dare slander the name of their leader's precious little girl. You were the boss's pride and joy, thus he kept you as far away from the darker side of the family business as possible.
⠀⠀Kirishima was still a new hire, a bodyguard of sorts and would consider this his first gig. He had an idea of who he was looking for as he walked further into the mass of people admiring your work but didn't expect what he would eventually come across. You were as far away from the crowd as you possibly could be, guzzling glasses of wine and over all appearing to be a deer in headlights. He couldn't fugure out for the life of him why you seemed so frightened until he watched people approach you to talk, noticing the stutter in your voice when you replied to questions and greetings, your body language telling people to stear clear of you.
⠀⠀So, he did what he was hired to do. "Kindly step away from the lady." He said with a smile, approaching with his large arms crossing over his broad chest as he towered over the guests. They looked at him as if he were a giant shark looking to devour them before scurrying away, leaving the two of you alone. He stood quietly, listening to the voices on the other side of his ear piece as his ruby eyes scanned the area around you. He made sure to not stand so close and avoided in letting his gaze wander.
⠀⠀He couldn't help but admire your skin in quick glances, finding the spot over your eye to be quite adorable. Your silky, ask blonde hair was all dolled up for the event, light make up on your face but not enough to cover the vitiligo. You were stunning and his heart hammered against his chest. So the rumors were true.
⠀⠀You thanked him, voice quiet and careful as you set down your wine glass and clasped your hands together. Out of the corner of his eye he watched you twiddle your thumbs. You didn't want to be here, did you? This obviously wasn't your idea, how could it be? A girl like you, timid as a mouse, didn't want to be surrounded by strangers. "Miss..." He began, thinking carefully because the last thing he wanted to do was piss off the boss and likely get himself killed. But this was his job wasn't it? Making sure you were happy and safe? "Would you like to leave here for a bit? We'll come back of course, but you look like you need some air."
Extra.
He ended up taking you to a drive thru restaurant and got you whatever you wanted, letting you talk about whatever you wanted or sat quietly if you chose not to talk at all If it was quiet in the suv then that was fine too, he just wanted to help you in any way he could. Eventually the silence becomes small talk and then leads to a rather deep conversation about whatever the hell was going on inside that beautiful brain of yours. Kirishima wasn't the smartest man but he wasn't stupid, he wasn't as clueless as most thought he was. You told him how your father made you do this as an attempt to get you out there, to socialize and possibly find a suitor. This was the mafia after all.

The Confession:
⠀⠀It was a tradition now, every Sunday you and Eijirou would go to your favorite café to have coffee and enjoy the early day weather before it got too hot. You sit at the same table, in the same chairs with him facing the door. You get the same drinks and food and just overall enjoy each others company. After that night at the gallery you two became fast friends, which your father obviously had to approve of but thankfully he did. Kirishima was a good man, he's trustworthy and puts you before himself.
⠀⠀The day he approached your father and asked to speak in private was the day he knew he was likely to get thrown in the deepest, darkest depths of the ocean. He has confessed his feelings for you to your old man, who listened intently with a blank face behind his desk. "Sir, I'm in love with your daughter, and with your blessing I'd like to... court her." He was utterly terrified when your father cleared his throat and sighed, shifting where he sat so he could stand and move around the desk. He reached out for a handshake which Kirishima looked up at him with a questioning look.
⠀⠀Your father gave his blessing and now... He just had to tell you, his best friend, that he loved you. God he loved you so much— "Kiri," you interrupted his thoughts, bringing him crashing back to reality," a-are you alright? You seem nervous." He swallowed hard in response but cleared his throat, taking a sip of his cappuccino.
⠀⠀"Oh yeah— definitely." He breathed with a laugh, moving a hand to the back of his neck to scratch. How was he going to say it? "So, uh—" he licked his lips, adjusting himself in his seat multiple times until he groaned and leaned forward. "Fuck, I'm just gonna say it— Maybell, I love you. I have for a long time now and I talked to your father and he said—"
⠀⠀"Said what, Eijirou?" Your eyes widened at his confession and he felt like a complete idiot. Should he had said something to you first? Was this a mistake? What if you didn't feel the same way? God his mind was going to explode—
⠀⠀"That I could... court you. With your permission." You were quick to nod and smile to his surprise, which prompted a grin if his own.
Extra.
Kirishima HAS to be facing the door in any public place you go to. I don't make the rules.
He never let's you walk close to the road, he has to be between you and it at all times when you're walking.
He oders your food and drinks for you when you can't but is there for moral support when you do. He wants you comfortable and happy. He wouldn't ever dare get in your way though, you're a lot stronger and braver than most may think you are.

The Relationship:
⠀⠀On days like this, Kirishima can't help but admire you. He catches himself staring wuite often but he just can't help it. What did he do to deserve such a beautiful partner? He looks at you and all he can think about is how much he loves you and wants to see you smile. He watched you from the kitchen island, leaning against it as you waltz around the kitchen in your pinky fuzzy slippers and one of his shirts that's much, much too big on you. He remembers your surprise when you found his clothing was actually too big on you and how happy you were.
⠀⠀"Maybell?" He hums, adjusting his stance and crossing his arms on the counter. He listened for you to him back in response, a smile on his lips. "You look so cute in my clothes.
⠀⠀You giggled, shaking your head and continued putting the dishes away until Eijirou appeared behind you, arms wrapping around your waist and his forehead coming down on your shoulder. "Need somethin' baby?" You turned your head just slightly, a brow cocked inquisitively. He squeezed you in response, swiftly lifting you and making you squeal. Thankfully you didn't have anything in your hands at the moment. He peppered kisses all over the side of your face, setting you down only to lift you again bridal style.
⠀⠀"I've got all I need right here in my arms." He chuckled and you playfully smacked his chest, letting him carry you to your shared bedroom.
Extra.
TICKLE FIGHTS.
He thinks your sneezes are the cutest thing in the world.
He loves your god awful puns, they crack him up every time.
Adores the fact you're a nurturer, especially with your friends. He thinks you'd make a great mother but if that's something you don't want he respects that.
You take care of everyone, but who takes care of you? Eijirou is always there to be your shoulder to lean and cry on, he's your sound board and is always happy to let you talk about your feelings with him. You're allowed to not be happy and bubbly all the time, he realizes how staying positive all the time can actually do more damage than goof, especially if you bottle everything up.
If on a particular day you're struggling with your speech he's happy to be your voice as well. He understands you better than anyone, even your own father.
Speaking of your father, he can't wait to make Eijirou his son-in-law! He's a good man with a good heart and treats you right, what's not to like?
He has trouble saying no to you and spoils you quite a bit.

The Fights:
...
Extra.
There's nothing, what you say goes and all he can say is "yes dear". He knows better than to argue with you, however when he's right and he knows he is, he finds a way to prove it without making you mad.

The Sex:
⠀⠀"Fuck baby—" he hissed, hands finding your hips and guiding you as you rub yourself on his cock. Your hands are on his thighs and your head is tossed back, giving him the perfect view of your tits. God he loves them, he loves the plush skin of your stomach and your thighs, your ass too, he loved seeing all of you. He was so happy that you allow him this privilege of seeing you, granted you've been dating a while now but still. Your sounds are music to his ears and all he wants is to make more, make you feel so good you're calling his name and making a mess.
He wanted— no, needed, to feel you, to feel inside your warm and wet cunt, to feel it squeeze him and milk him dry. He was quick to flip the two of you over, careful to not hurt you as he did. You gasped and giggled, reaching up to hold his face as he smiled, leaning down to capture your lips in a searing kiss. He loved your taste, he could go on and on about all the things he loved about you all day if he could. "You want it baby?" You nodded excitedly, lip caught between your teeth. He smirked and reached between the two of you, thick fingers tracing a line between your lips and slipping inside your soaked pussy.
"D-Daddy—" you whine, a slight pout on your lips as your face morphs into one of pleasure. He chuckled, pumping his fingers in and out a few times before removing them and grabbing his cock. He coated it more in your slick, guiding it between tge lips of your cunt before slowly pushing inside, groaning at how tight you are. You squeal of course, gasping for breath because Kirishima is an impressive size, you still struggled to take him sometimes but like a good girl you always managed.
"That's my good girl." He cooed, moving so his forearms were on either side of your head. He gave a couple test thrusts, waiting for you to adjust u til you nodded for him to continue.
Extra.
Terrified of activating his quirk while he's fucking you, but he keeps himself under control.
He loves his hair pulled and he loves to be bitten, he especially likes it when you scratch his back when he hits that good spot.
Eats you out for his pleasure mostly, but for yours as well. He loves when you grind on his face and moan his name when you do it. Speaking of, please sit on his face, he loves that shit. He knows how to be careful of his teeth!
If you have pets they CANNOT be in the same roon when you're doing the do, it's just weird.
He'd happily bend you over in the kitchen and do you right there. Hell, he'll fuck you anywhere you deem suitable.
He likes to do a mixture if praise and degradation with you, and edging and overstimulation is a big go-to. He just loves seeing you squirm under him, hr loves hearing you beg and say you need him.
