К сожалению я не удосужилась выложить тот арт, который я как раз таки и предоставлю вам перерисованный на данный момент. Ну что я могу сказать? В целом прогресс есть, мне очень нравится.

The Ballad of the Archangel Gabriel!
THIS IS AN ESSAY. LONG POST. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Let me open by saying I LOVE Good Omens. I also absolutely LOVE DuckTales, especially the 2017 show. And with the whole thing in Good Omens season 2 about Gabriel losing his memory, I couldn't help but compare it to a DuckTales episode wherein a similar thing happens - a character who is a renowned asshole forgets who he is.
Case in point: Flintheart Glomgold in DuckTales 2017, Season 2 Episode 3, "The Ballad of Duke Baloney!"
(Rest of the essay under the cut)
So, for anyone who needs a refresher, here is some context.
At the end of Season 1 of DuckTales 2017, in "The Shadow War!", second-richest duck in the world and Scrooge McDuck's chief rival, Flintheart Glomgold, gets yeeted (yote?) out the window of his office building by his own shadow, which, thanks to powerful sorceress Magica DeSpell, has taken on a life of its own. He falls into the icy depths of Duckburg Bay, and no-one really knows what happens to him.
Until, that is, at the beginning of "The Ballad Of Duke Baloney!" when we see that he was rescued by two fisherpeople, and seems to have no memory of who he is.
A news report then tells us that it has been four months since Glomgold disappeared.
Cut to Louie Duck and Webby Vanderquack, Scrooge's great-nephew and honorary niece, on a little boat by the docks, clearly fishing. They go up to get bait, and see that the man selling it looks a lot like Glomgold.
However, he doesn't act like him. He introduces himself as Duke Baloney, has a bushy black beard, and a South African accent (starkly different to his usual Scottish one). Naturally, Webby and Louie are confused. Louie seems convinced Glomgold is faking amnesia as part of some evil scheme, while Webby believes he really needs help.
Then, later in the episode, the fisher-couple that saved Glomgold (sorry - Duke) explain that they found him in the bay with no memories.
A bunch of other stuff happens that I won't get into, but the ending of the episode happens with Glomgold remembering who he is and going back to being, well... him.
Now, you may be wondering, "Godfrey, what the hell does this have to do with Good Omens?!"
Well.
In the Season 2 trailer, it's revealed that Gabriel is the amnesiac angel we've been hearing about, proving many fans right!
In the trailer, there is a blink-and-you-miss-it moment where Gabriel is looking at a statue of, wouldn't ya know it, The Archangel Gabriel, and his eyes flash purple for a fraction of a second. I think he might be remembering something.
So, I'm thinking that Gabriel's arc will play out somewhat similarly to Glomgold's in "The Ballad Of Duke Baloney" - Aziraphale being concerned, maybe Crowley being more begrudging about helping him (Azi definitely loses this patience as time goes on though!!) and it becomes a Whole Thing.
Especially with the whole "Surrender The Angle" thing and Aziraphale saying "I think I may have just started a war...."
Now, I am perfectly willing to be one hundred percent wrong-o about all of this. I just wanted to share my thoughts on the matter.

Why I Think It Would Be Fitting If Zan Owlson And Shere Khan Became Arch Enemies
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok. Here I’ll be going over why I think it would be fitting if Zan Owlson from the DuckTales (2017) TV series and Shere Khan from the TaleSpin (1990) TV series met and became arch enemies by going over their similarities and differences. With that out of the way, let’s dive right in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them can be quite honorable. As shown in the episode ‘The Ballad Of Duke Baloney!’, Zan Owlson helped fund the Duckburg Children’s Hospital and wants to put people above profit. And, as shown in the episode ‘Save The Tiger’, Shere Khan was willing to do Baloo some favors to repay him for saving his life. The difference between them here, though, is that Zan Owlson actually wants to help people since, as already pointed out, she wants to put people above profit whereas Shere Khan mainly wants money and power as stated in the episode ‘Citizen Khan’, the reason why he didn’t want Cleghorn and Wendell to use and mistreat his miners is because that wouldn’t provide him with money nor power. And all this would surely put Shere Khan and Zan Owlson at odds.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them had to deal with idiots who got in their way. As shown in the episode ‘Raiders Of The Doomsday Vault!’, Zan Owlson had to put up with Flintheart Glomgold who let his cockamamie schemes undermined her efforts to get a contract with the Von Drake Doomsday Vault. And, as shown in the episode ‘Louie’s Last Stand’, Shere Khan had to put up with Douglas who got his pilots injured and forged his name to try to take over Louie’s island. The difference between them there, though, is that, as also shown in the episode ‘Raiders Of The Doomsday Vault!’, poor Zan Owlson didn’t seem to have the necessary authority to fire Glomgold whereas, as also shown in the episode ‘Louie’s Last Stand’, Shere Khan was able to fire Douglas.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them encountered someone who wanted to be a superhero. As shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 1: The St. Canardian Guardian!’, Zan Owlson encountered Drake Mallard who wanted to be a superhero called Darkwing Duck. And, as shown in the episode ‘Bullethead Baloo’, Shere Khan encountered Baloo who wanted to be a superhero called Bullethead. The difference between them there is how long Drake’s and Baloo’s times superheroes lasted. As shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, Drake chose to stay a superhero indefinitely whereas, as also shown in the episode ‘Bullethead Baloo!’, Baloo’s time as Bullethead was just a one-time thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of their cities were attacked by a group of villains and they needed someone’s help to stop it. As shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, Zan Owlson needed Darkwing Duck to help save St. Canard from the Fearsome Four and, as shown in the episode ‘Plunder & Lightning Part 4’, Shere Khan needed Baloo to help save Cape Suzette from Don Karnage and his crew. The difference between them there is whether or not they asked for their help. As also shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, Zan Owlson did ask Darkwing Duck for help to save St. Canard whereas, as also shown in the episode ‘Plunder & Lightning Part 4’, Shere Khan didn’t ask for Baloo’s help albeit was still grateful for it.
Well, that’s all for this post.
See you all next time.

I always think about Glomgold and how, after “The Ballad of Duke Baloney”, ending his rivalry with Scrooge would be almost impossible. Like, he modelled his entire life around him and I mean his ENTIRE life. He faked being Scottish, committed crimes, went to jail, isolated himself and he barely sleeps just for Scrooge. The only person he has besides Scrooge is Gibbous.
Ending his rivalry with Scrooge would change him completely. We saw that in Ballad of Duke Baloney, where he was a completely different person and even though he definitely had a better life as Duke, he (at least in his head) ruined his reputation at Hookbill Harbor AND entire relationship with Fisher and Mann. And he definitely still cares about them, because how in Glomtales, when he fell into the ocean and swam away from the rest of the villains, after he turned all the villains in Duckburg against him and he lost his entire company, where does he go?
that’s right!!! Hookbill harbour!!! He definitely has a comfort/attachment to the place. But in the end, his schemes and Scrooge are more important. Because If he stopped scheming, he’d have to acknowledge all the years he wasted obsessing over someone he doesn’t even like.
(Please do NOT tag this as glomscrooge, the ship makes me uncomfortable)

Here are a couple things I have noted during my fourth watch of DuckTales (third just in 2023) cuz why not.
Gyro said "blathering blatherskite" first in the show, not Fenton. And then at the end of that episode he started 'project blatherskite' (The Great Dime Chase!)
Glomgold took off his beard, revealing it's fake, really early compared to when they showed the whole Duke Baloney thing (The Infernal Internship of Mark Beaks!)

Poll people listen.
One of the problems I have with a lot of the voters is that they often don’t vote on what episode they think is better. They vote on what episode has that character they like. Right now they are voting for What happened to Della Duck, but the reasons are not “incredible storytelling, acting work and emotional beats” but “DELLA BEST GIRL FR”. Now here it’s more understandable because everyone knows that episode is a banger, but for some of the other ones we see it as well. People are voting for The town where everyone was nice over The ballad of Duke Baloney. The only reasoning I have yet seen is “BECAUSE THE THREE CABS ARE SO GAY AND MY LOVE”. Not a single soul has said that the episode itself actually is good. Same with The great dime chase vs Daytrip of doom. People could talk about how it characterizes Louie, the tension in the episode, or its significance later in the series, but with very few exceptions, people mostly just say “Gyro” and nothing else. Now I see it slowly happening with the Fethry episode as well. Vote for the Fethry episode! Why? Because Fethry! Sounds good to me! No it doesn’t.
They don’t even seem to care about the episodes anymore. As long as their favorite blorbo appears then the entire episode wins, no matter its quality, or even how it handles the characters in question.
Anyways im voting for all the Webby centric episodes for no reason whatsoever im not open to logical reasoning dont @ me
I knew that would happen, and honestly I’m doing the same thing most of the time. I am the person who voted Dime Chase because Gyro. I suppose this poll is less best, rather fan favorite episode tournament. That might’ve been incorrect wording on my part. 😅 But there are still people out there voting for the ‘better’ episodes in some cases- and those analyses are really fun to read through!
Doesn’t mean giving up on the propaganda though! I enjoy all of your tags but I can understand not wanting to explain yourself so much if everyone just has favorite character bias.
YEAH VOTE FOR WEBBY! WEBBY VANDERQUACK SWEEP 2024!!!

You know what, I thinks it's stupid that Ducktales thinks it's smart for acting like Mark Beak is racist with his microaggressions against Fenton and have the tone treat it as a bad thing.
When you have Duke Baloney, a Southern African character, change his name to Flintheart Glomgold and pretended to be a stereotypical Scottish guy, just so he one-up the actual Scottish character, Scrooge McDuck. And have the tone treat his actions as if it's one of his many funny character quirks.

Unironically, how did Glomgold even get his wealth after he swore to become richer then Scrooge ?
Like yeah he began stealing the treasures Scrooge found and such, but even besides that.
Scrooge only recognised Glomgold was Duke Baloney once he showed him the golden money clip.
So there is no way that he as a kid was already leeching of Scrooges adventures ?
And even then, he keeps losing all the time and coming back with what is pretty much just garbage and rubble. So how is he able to keep his company afloat.
We know his schemes cost in the millions yet he never seems to lose any of his wealth.
So underneath his crazy persona there must be an actual really good businessman. Or he is just great at hiring the correct people to keep it all afloat.
Either way, it is very clear in my eyes that if Glomgold wasn’t so busy trying to beat Scrooge at his own game, that he quite possibly could become the richest duck in the world, from company profits alone

So you know how in DT17 Scrooge idolises Finch after reading her book? What if we had the same thing but with Glomgold and Pothole?
like Duke Baloney after Scrooge underpays him reads “Master of The Mississippi and gets inspired, or he even read it before then!!! And he models his life and personality after Pothole!!
Even the flashback in “The Golden Lagoon of White Agony Plains”’had a similar artsyle/vibe to the illustrations in Pothole’s book!!! And I bet the plot of issues were similar to Glomgold’s schemes.
