A Marvellous Light promotional art, part of a series for Freya Marske/@fahye's stunning The Last Binding trilogy. See the ones for book 2 and 3 here!
My intend was 'how can I pour as much of my love for the arts and crafts movement in one painting'. It's what Robin would have wanted.
(Please also check out this perfect Edwin song that I listened to for weeks while painting.)
my The Last Binding tag for more of these two softies, and my art tag.

Out of ways I've seen other authors have the MCs reveal their sexualities to each other, this is honestly one of the funniest examples I've seen lmao

“He was quietly, startlingly charmed that for all his curt, practical manner, Courcey had chosen such a pretty kind of magic to show Robin.” - A MARVELLOUS LIGHT by Freya Marske ( @fahye )
Presenting the Patreon fanart poll winner for the month of October! Gosh, I would take any excuse in the world to draw the characters from this book. If you haven’t read it yet, I can’t recommend it enough. The magical system alone is mindblowing, nevermind Freya Marske’s beautiful prose. This one isn’t to be missed if you love queer historical fantasy. 😍

Simon: “I’m just wondering what kind of blind idiot I was to not have noticed you attractive you are when we first met.”
Baz: “Whereas I am neither blind nor an idiot.”

With everyone losing most of their powers, and Edwin being the only one who's actually studied using the magic from the land and leylines, he's essentially the most powerful magician in Britain, right? At least for a time.
Love that for him. It's what he deserves.

I recently finished reading @fahye's novel A Marvellous Light (first in The Last Binding series), and utterly adored it. Edwardian magicians, murder mysteries and romance. We love to see it!
I just had to have a go at painting Robin and Edwin!
