I'm so used to East Asian men getting killed off unceremoniously or having no character arc or just being done dirty by the writers
So everytime I see Fancy I'm like "oh THIS is when they kill him off" or "THIS is when they undermine his character development"
And they just keep not doing that. Fancy is, as of the end of S3 (no spoilers please), still alive! With a character arc! He was betrayed by a white character and THAT character was punished. That's wild.
He's on par with other secondary characters in terms of screen time, depth, story etc. He's just as much a character as Zeph, Kendry, Pree, Alvis, Turin. That's amazing to me. Normally I have to watch actual East Asian media to see actual East Asian characters.
So if Fanboy's callsign is a reference to Star Trek, and I want him and Bob to find something to be buddies over, I think it should maybe be them trying to figure out who the rest of the team reminds them of from sci-fi tv shows.
("Do you think it's weird that BSG had Lee and Thrace, and we have a Bradley and a Trace?")
And of course, at some point Bob is going to look over at Fanboy, nod his head at Hangman and say "Fancy". And anyone else within earshot is going to be confused, but Fanboy's going to crack up and hold up his hand for a high five and be like "'Designated asshole!' Nice."
another underrated potential dynamic: jelco and fancy lee. like, the last time they met they fought (offscreen) and fancy stabbed him in the face. i just know they'd have beef with each other after that.
that and fancy feels like his place as the morally ambiguous asshole is being threatened.
d'avin more often than not would have to be the one to intervene when they try to start shit and he's just looking into the camera like he's on the office while simultaneously trying to stop them from getting stabby with each other. again.
yes, there is probably a joke made about qreshis being extra willing to get stabby. (in this case, referring to jelco being the stabby one. in his defense, fancy stabbed him first. it's only fair.)
Attempt to render Lenore. (Gayass Annabel Lee on the right)
Divorce arc? What do you mean? Prom arc, yes. The arc started in the broom closet and annabel wanted to be partners with Lenore and its extremely gay and there's the usual mutual pining but lesbian yearning is always interrupted with the shenanigans of being dead.
A: "Pet, to think the uproar outside already speaks of an upcoming exam. And the exam is... dancing."
L: "And what exactly is it that you need from me?"
A: "Well, let's say we form a temporary public alliance"
L: "Hmmm, and why me out of your posse?"
A: "This may be our last waltz, pet"
L: "Alright, but let me do the honour of courting you publicly, temporarily, of course."
RAGAGAGAFFAAGGAHAHH, mini dialogue cus they gay or something.
