Christmas reunion (or just a normal, but snowy night) | Mirage Leosagis small writing
Usagi is not happy.
He's never happy when it's cold and the snow covers the land.
His feet hurt.
He's tired and wants to nap in a warm place.
That day was not his day, at all.
He was not feeling lucky even when he find a abandom hut.
The hut was not much, but you can make a fire inside and not freeze.
Usagi was cursing himself, after so many years traveling he still hadn't learned not to trust the weather. He was near the Geishu Province so he would go when the snow allowed him to see at least two meters in front of his nose.
He make a fire and tried to get confortable...
He made a campfire, then closed his eyes so he could rest --- it wasn't like he could see anything outside anyway.
Usagi was already feeling a bit warm and relaxed, he believed that things could get better until…
"MOTHERFUCK--R!!"
Usagi opened his eyes in surprise and immediately stood up, taking his swords and moving to the entrance seeing a stranger approaching and complaining until their body became more of blur to Usagi's eyes...
"Leonardo?", Usagi ask, shooked.
"wait-- Usagi?"
Both men looked at each other.
Usagi felt something heavy on his heart...
Were his eyes betraying him?
This damn cold weather was making him seen things?
Usagi took a deep breath before feeling Leonardo's arms embracing him... it felt so conforting.
"So many years and I'm here", Leonardo said.
Usagi was perplex... He couldn't muster a word until Leonardo lose his loose grip a little.
Leonardo was not wearing his mask, he was even wearing clothes... warm clothes that make him look rounder... but Usagi recornice him so easily, like a part of his soul was connected deeply to him.
Without said a word Usagi touched Leonardo's face, he touch his wrinkles and his features...
"This is really you, Leonardo... my friend", he muster and Leo smile.
"You look older" Leo said touching Usagi's hand still on his face.
"The time pass for everyone..."
"You are right"
After knowing smiles, Usagi and Leo moved to be near the fire.
They sat together.
Leonardo, despite being dressed properly, he was still cold, so Usagi shared his cloak with him, making them much closer.
"I had lost hope of seeing you again…" Usagi said. "The last time I saw you... you were in another skin with no memories of me or our adventures"
The word set a nostalgic atmosfere, Leonardo sigh being aware of the multiverse around him. He had already gotten over the idea that his time was up, he had no problems with it… what he was not aware of was that Usagi had met one of his alternatives and that made him feel something inside his heart.
"He was wearing blue..." Usagi said feeling how Leonardo look at him.
"You are his friend?", Leonardo ask and Usagi nod.
"He's a good friend"
Leonardo scratched the back of his neck, feeling something he couldn't define.
Without being able to put his feelings into words, he decided to look away. Usagi was looking at the fire...
"Although it was not the same tho..."
"With you I learned things, with you I felt things and with you I lived things."
Usagi sighed looking at Leonardo who looked back at him as Usagi hugged his arm with a small smile.
"No one will ever make me forget what I experienced with you… those are precious memories for me and only have your face in it."
Leonardo felt his heart feel warm again... He leans in to feel Usagi's natural warmth and closes his eyes. He was the only Leo in Miyamoto's heart and that's pretty... motivating.
"I see...", Leo said with a smile.
Usagi looked at Leonardo with eyes full of affection.
Both men kept warm that snowy night. Leonardo wasn't angry or sad about missing Christmas dinner…
Neither of them thought they would be separated in the same way they found each other again… but it didn't matter.
They would say their proper goodbyes when the time was right and enjoy their time together as if they would never be separated again.
Just finished watching Trigun Stampede and its good to know that I am still absolutely feral for the estranged brothers trope.
And my god, Nai's behaviour reminded me so much of s5 Felix. The plot resemblance is so uncanny to me that I cannot not share.
I know you're gonna think I'm crazy for comparing a snot nosed gremlin with a seasoned killer, like someone's probably reading this and foaming at the mouth...
Alas, I have made a chart to make this explanation easier:
The most notable difference here is that Knives' happiness requires Vash's identity to be stripped. Knives only values Vash as an extension of himself and not as an individual. He is in love with the concept of a brother who supports his twisted ideals solidified by their childhood bond, and when he finds out that isn't true, destroys his life to make him see "reason". Probably loved Rem buts its buried under all that misanthropy.
Meanwhile, Felix cares for Adrien as a person but also disregards his autonomy by making decisions on his behalf. However, unlike Knives, Felix is amendable to keeping some humans around for the sake of Adrien's happiness. Felix's twin cousin-complex comes from a place of jealousy and situational projection.
In addition to being upset that Adrien has not fought for his freedom and seeks to liberate him. He is envious of his cousin's ability to make friends but is disgusted by his naivety and inability to think for himself (a past-pathetic version of himself under control).
To conclude, one is a psychotic narcissist who developed delusions of grandeur instead of healing from abuse while the other is a misguided, morally grey teen who also hasn't healed from abuse :(
Very different characters but the fundamentals are all there.
2582 words today besties i'm back on track👍 it's funny to me to compare that number to the 533 i wrote yesterday but truly the only reason i wrote that much today because i realised 1.6k was not the vibe yesterday so i didn't force myself and risk burnout!
since i didn't share anything yesterday here's a scattering of random, unconnected no context lines that i think are neat (cw for dead animal imagery and blood/injury. this is an apocalypse forest au LOL)
Because it is still warm outside which means the nights and the morning is quick and the sunsets are long, exhaling drags, but tonight the sky is already a dark cyan and there is already the hint of coolness in the air; they can’t feel it as much anymore, the weightlessness of a summer evening.
When she looks at her hands, the drying blood, she remembers the sound of tearing flesh, of an entry wound rupturing, of ripping her brother’s missed arrow out of a man’s stomach.
They have to pay close attention to the ground — especially in the slow, dull and darkening sunset — to watch out for stones that, upon closer look, decay into dead and dried fish.
She wanted to fish so the violence of her hands could be used for something natural, something part of a cycle, to not think of a stranger’s collapsing guts. Dorothy does not like to kill, but she knows it is what she’s good at.
There are certain patches they know to look out for, like the two trees the stretch out across each other, making X's with their branches, or the pine tree with their names carved into the bark, the patch of hawthorn trees that signal they are close to home. All of these are like little earthly constellations and in a way the forest is like a starlit night to them; they do not need to map out each individual piece, each pine or oak or alder or holly bush but they know which ones will guide them home, that they know to find in the silky moonlight.
i know Nika is more mature than the other two but. shes still 15. of course she does dumb wacky shit sometimes!!
yeah shes pretty girly(not a bad thing!!!) but also she lives alone. so she can eat her cheap-ass hawaiian pizza any way she wants with no one to judge her for it
Characters: Felix (he/him), January (he/him), Akali (he/him), Rory (they/she), Kuali’i (he/him)
Credits to @jiphenn as the characters in purple are all hers!
There was a knock at the door.
Felix was with the rest of the Board Game Club, sitting next to Akali as they all drank hot chocolate, chatting and playing board games.
“Can you go open the door Felix?” January asked, taking a sip of his drink.
Felix stood up from his seat, leaving Akali who was absolutely destroying him at Monopoly and swinging open the door.
Standing before him was Kuali’i, multicoloured hair loosely curled, an awkward smile on his face. He looked like he was regretting everything. Felix smirked at him. “Oh, hi.”
“Hey guys, your new club members are here!” Rory popped up from behind Kuali’i with a grin, pushing him through the door. January was immediately all smiles, springing up with his usual enthusiasm. “Oh, you guys are here!” He ran up quickly to lock the door, completely ecstatic. He turned to the rest of the club. “You guys know what that means.” He was grinning from ear to ear. Felix took his seat next to Akali again.
“Power sharing!”
January was absolutely brimming with excitement. “This also gives us a chance to see how we’ve improved!” He continued. “I’ll go first!”
January retrieved a freshly sharpened pencil from his bag, like the very first club meeting. Felix got flashbacks to his freaky aura switch, as he stabbed himself clean through his hand, blood slicking the table. “My power is weight! Meaning I can change the rate at which gravity pulls it down.” He said with a smile, dangling the pencil over his hand.
At the last second he pulled his hand away with a chuckle. “Just kidding!” He stared at the horrified expressions of the original members, his green and purple eyes twinkling. “I’m not doing that again.” Astley, Rory, Kuali’i, Wilder and Gunther looked extremely confused.
“I can do it normally like this.” January placed his thumb over the eraser, and the pencil came crashing down at the table with a large thud, faster than ever. Felix was relieved he didn’t stab himself again.
January stood up, continuing his demonstration. “I can also make it work like this now!” He grabbed the pencil and chucked it across the room. He tapped his thumb against his index finger almost immediately, and the pencil stopped mid-flight, falling harshly into the table again.
“And I can do this now too!” He said, cracking his fingers. He touched the chair he was just sitting on, and the whole club watched, captivated, as the chair slowly started to lift off the ground and float. “Now the gravitational pull is less than it was before, meaning I can float things.” January explained, tapping his thumb against his finger again and causing the chair to fall back down.
“Next is Akali!” January said, taking a seat once more.
Akali pulled his gloves off, and shadows immediately started seeping from the cracks in his palms, his familiar shadow creatures emerging.
This time, instead of three, four came out. They were larger now too, probably nine feet tall, and the air around the creatures seemed colder, more sinister, radiating an ominous presence. “I can make shadow creatures.” Akali said. “I can also switch positions with them.” He flickered to each spot with ease, before finally teleporting back down to his spot. He put his gloves back on. “That’s it.” He said with a shrug.
“Next up is Felix!”
Felix stood up, taking a deep breath. Ever since the club had practiced their powers at January’s mansion he had been working day and night to improve his portals. He’d practiced portaling different objects around his room, then also around their house. He spent most nights when he was free after school at January’s, the two of them working together. He’d been determined to not make a fool of himself again. This would be the ultimate test - to see if he’d actually made any real improvements.
“I can make portals.” He said with a smile, swiping his hand through the air. Below his feet an electric blue portal crackled to life, expanding underneath the entire table and sucking the club in.
When they resurfaced, they were standing on a random hilltop in Germany. Mountains rose up around them, surrounded by large rolling hills, all of it a majestic green. Felix wondered why this place had popped up in his mind, out of all the other countries. The whole club looked extremely alarmed, besides January, Rory, Gunther and Astley, who were probably used to this sort of thing by now. With a swipe of his hand, Felix landed them back in the club room, like they’d never even left.
“WOW!” January exclaimed, clapping loudly and looking genuinely impressed.
Felix grinned at him and sat back down.
One by one, the rest of the club showed off their powers. No one else had improved as much as January and Felix (with Maddox and Astley not being able to improve at all) but the club all had much better control over their abilities from when they last showed them off three months ago.
Eventually, it reached Kuali’i.
He glanced around, looking like he was debating if he should escape or not, before seemingly deciding he was in it too deep to walk away now. He swallowed. “I’m Kuali’i and this is my power.”
He swiped his two fingers up and a red holographic screen appeared in front of him. “I guess you can kind of call it getting my way.” He broadcasted the screen into a bigger one that faced the rest of the Board Game Club. “If I have a goal in mind, I’m able to achieve it as long as I meet three requirements.” The entire club watched him curiously as he continued to explain.
“So, for example, say I wanna grow two inches,” A header with the title ‘GROW TWO INCHES’ popped up on the screen. He clicked it and it expanded, turning into a three-item checklist:
GROW TWO INCHES TALLER
[] Run for five miles
[] Sleep for eleven hours straight
[] Make five new friends
MONTHLY POWER UPS REMAINING: 3
“So as long as I complete these three tasks my goal will happen.” Kuali’i said. “Monthly power ups help me complete a task easier. So in this case I could increase my stamina or speed for a while so I could run five miles more effortlessly.” Kuali’i exited out of the goal.
“That’s why I didn’t join the club at first. Cause I didn’t really need to.” He swiped back a little bit, revealing a goal that read, “AVOID GETTING INJECTED AND FOUND OUT BY THE DIOLE VACCINE”.
Felix thought about how hard January had been pushing the club to recruit him. How many times Felix had brought up the club, trying to convince him to join. How confused he had been for the last few months, on why Kuali’i, who was tall, attractive, well-liked, and had seemingly everything, would want to lose it all when the vaccine came out.
“I still don’t really need to join…” Kuali‘I mumbled. “But it was a task on one of my other goals.”
Felix almost laughed at the irony of it all. He couldn’t believe it. Kuali’i didn’t even want to join them now - he was simply doing it to complete a task. Months of trying to get closer to him, to have him feel more comfortable, and the guy still didn’t really trust them. Felix was absolutely shocked.
“That’s about all I can do.” Kuali’i said, swiping down and making the screen vanish.
In celebration of my once a day bout of conscious thought being useful for once (!!!) I have a sketch of Felix being serious and likeable for once in his life
The person he is holding? Don’t worry about it right now but it’ll be important later
im gonna be honest i think the "adrien being a sentimonster was randomly thrown in season 4 with no planning on the writers' part" theory is really funny. like the writers of this show are just so bad at their job and so stupid that they tripped and fell in season 1 episode mr pigeon and accidentally spilled "a strange relationship to feathers" all over adrien by accident. they stubbed their toe on the coffee table and accidentally set up a mystery surrounding emilie's relationship to a feathery miraculous in season 1 volpina before we even knew what its powers were. then they spilled coffee all over their favorite shirts and at the same time spilled more white feathers around adrien in season 2 episode gorizilla. while writing the same episode someone had a really nasty sneeze and got boogers all over the script that said "use the imagery of two twin rings intertwined as the opener for the film of adrien's dead mother". they forgot to look both ways before crossing the street while writing the season 2 finale and were struck by a truck labeled "the peacock miraculous gives life" and then by a second truck with the license plate "it does so using white feathers identical to the white feathers that surround adrien in his ads" at the same time. they plummeted down an open manhole and hit the ground with a loud whack that sounded like "sentimonsters like bugette are just as real as any human..... and isn't bugette so...... perfect?" in season 3. on their way to the hospital they slipped on ice that had frozen in such a way to perfectly resemble the sentence "the word 'perfect' is consistently used throughout the series and by the creator ominously to denote how characters like adrien and kagami are 'different from everyone else', ever since season 1 episode simon says". during season 3 someone on the team got food poisoning and when they threw up felix came out instead and started another whacky series of comedic errors. the answer to the mystery of "how and why did emilie die? what life did adrien's loving mother create that she was willing to die for?" was originally gonna be "idk maybe she just exploded or somehting" probably, but then there was a really painful rock in one of the writers' shoes while walking to work that put them in a mood so bad that they forgot their original plan and instead made some bullshit up that somehow ended up being something that made sense with what we knew and put all the puzzle pieces together and actually made the show even more interesting and impactful on a rewatch because it put a lot of shots that at the time seemed random into a new and logical perspective as clear foreshadowing. it's actually impressive how stupid these silly clown writers are that they put strangely specific things so consistently throughout the entire series that resembled foreshadowing while never actually having intended it a single time! like........... really.......... really impressive............... i think..............
