Rainy days part 2
Hangman x you  drabble
Warnings: very fluffy
A/N: this takes place some time after the first rainy days. Yes it is raining here again, that means thoughts running off to a domestic Jake.
***
“Jake, I know you wanted to organise date day all by yourself, but did you check the weather babe?”
“I thought it would be the same like yesterday, I didn’t check, I’m sorry I messed up honey.” Jake looked at with big apologetic eyes, almost puppy eyes. God he could be cute. As you were standing against the countertop you heard the first raindrops fall against the window behind you. You tapped with your hands on the place next to you so Jake could join you instead of pacing around like an idiot.
“Calm down Jakey, it’s alright.” You tried hushing him putting your hand on his thigh.
“No it's not, I know you, and me too, were looking forward to it.”
“Remember our getaway to the cabin?” When you looked at him you could see him smiling to the memory. “We can make it cozy here too, date day at home. Stop the sulking, let's have fun”
“Come here. You’re the best, you know that.” Jake said while turning you in front of him so he could kiss the top of your head.
“Shall I fill the bathtub?”
“Later, can we bake cookies first?” You tried to display your cutest face so Jake would agree.
“Can I ever say no to you like this? Okay, I’ll take the ingredients.” Baking with Jake was actually always fun, it mostly ended in a flour-fight, just like now. As the cookies were almost ready, Jake started to prep the bath for the two of you. After you put the cookies on the rack to cool them down, which were smelling so good, "best idea ever" you thought, you made your way over to the bathroom. Something was different than usual. You could hear soft music playing, and as you were almost there, you smelled lavender, your favourite. “Did he-” before you could end your sentence you were awed with the sight of your bathroom. Small fake candles everywhere, you were the biggest klutz, so Jake forbid you to have real ones, even some rose petals on the ground, the bathtub filled with lavender-scented foam and a relaxed looking Jake in it.
“Join me cupcake.” You loved it when he occasionally called you by this recent nickname. Obeying to his ask, you quickly removed your clothes and joined him. You gave him a little peck on his lips before seating yourself with your back resting on his chest.
“You’re so romantic Jake. When I met you I wasn’t expecting you had this in you, you’re even better than ever I hoped.” You confessed.
“Only for you cupcake” Jake said as he hugged you tightly. “I’m sorry that today is not what I prepared for you. I wanted a picnic on the beach and go to the zoo, I know you love that.”
“We can do that an other time Jakey, but I’ve got to admit, it would’ve been pretty amazing.”
“I love it when you call me Jakey, I was planning some other things too, but yeah, rain. Let’s wash you first, you’ve still got flour in your hair and behind your ears.”
“And who’s fault would that be?” You said playfully while turning around to face your incredibly sweet boyfriend. After he carefully helped you clean up and you returned the favour, okay, you couldn’t help yourself and made a punker Jake out of his shampoo hair.
“Let’s get us in our bathrobes.” Jake said as he offered you a hand to get out of the tub. Jake still dripping wet already put on his bathrobe on and sat on the edge of the tub as he took your hand once you had put something on not to get cold. During the whole process Jake kept looking at you, taking every single feature of you in, even after 2 years of dating he was still madly in love with you.
“So Jakey, why are you looking like that, like what you see?” You were a bit unsure how to read him correctly.
“Yeah, I’m the luckiest man in this universe and I really love looking at you, you’re the cutest, sometimes clumsiest, sweetest, loveliest girl with the best ideas ever. And I really really love you, I love the way you are able to make me feel safe and secure after a deployment, how you make me feel loved and most of all how you make me love being domestic. I might have mentioned it, but I really love you and I, I wanted to do this at the beach, I can’t wait anymore. Do you-” at the same moment Jake grabbed something out of the pocket of his bathrobe and got on his knees. “Do you want to become miss Seresin? Do you want to marry me?”
“Oh my God Jake, YES, of course!” You screamed while jumping in his arms, kissing him like the world depended on it. Jake was the first one to break the kiss as he was almost out of air
“I was so scared you were going to say no, because yeah, the scenery I had not planned.”
“Are you crazy, even here you made it so romantic, it doesn’t matter where you would’ve asked it, I would have said yes anyways. I love you Jakey.”
“I love you so much future miss Seresin, I love the sound of that name on you.”
Can this man become any cuter than this?

Jake was stressed. You hadn’t been dating for very long, and you weren’t technically official, but it was Hard Deck night and you hadn’t responded to his text messages since last night. He was tempted to call you to check in and see if everything was okay, but he didn’t want to seem clingy and obsessive while it was totally possible that you forgot to plug your phone in the night before, or that you left it at home while you were getting ready for work.
“Honestly, man, I was thinking she’d ghost you a lot sooner than this,” Fanboy said as they were getting their things to leave. Jake didn’t even have the energy to react.
“You’re good at relationships, Rooster. Would it be weird if I drove by her house on my way home?”
“I don’t know, man. None of us have ever met her but maybe she’d be okay with it based on what you’ve said about her in passing.”
“Or maybe she doesn’t exist and he wanted to hide the fact that he’s not getting laid.”
“Dude, too far,” Payback said to Fanboy. Jake just shrugged it off and grabbed his bag before heading out to his truck and finding your address in his phone. You lived pretty close to base so it wasn’t a very bad drive at all. Right as he turned down your street, his phone started ringing and your name was on the screen.
“Oh my God, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to ignore you but I think I’ve got the flu or a common cold or something.”
“Do you want me to bring you medicine? I’m like five minutes from a CVS.”
“No, it’s okay. It’s Hard Deck night. You should be out with your friends. I can go another time. I think I’ll make some soup and go back to sleep.”
“Hard Deck night is a weekly thing and Coyote’s deployed so I kind of don’t want to go anyways. I’d have more fun staying in with you. Plus I’ve got a family recipe of chicken noodle soup and it’ll probably be the best chicken noodle soup you’ll ever have.”
After a moment, you sniffled and said that he could come over and that you’d leave your door unlocked. He walked into your house about an hour after he got off the phone with you with reusable bags on his arms. You were laying on the couch under a blanket while an 80’s movie played on the TV.
“I brought medicine,” he said as he unloaded everything in the kitchen. You peered over the couch and smiled before taking a sip of your Gatorade that was on the coffee table. He came over to sit next to you after getting everything put away. It was almost unbelievable how sick you were, considering that you felt completely fine the day before. Your fever broke earlier in the day but you had been sleeping for most of it, living off of Gatorade and nearly stale crackers that you found in the back of your pantry. You changed the channel to something that you knew he’d like before nuzzling into the pillow that you brought from your bedroom.
“Poor thing. I’m gonna get your soup started. It should take about half an hour, okay? Let me know if you need anything.”
You nodded your head and scrolled through social media before going back to sleep for a little bit. The smell of the soup was what woke you up a little bit later, as Jake walked over and placed your bowl on the table in front of you. He made enough to last you a whole week, and he even offered to send you the recipe if you liked it. He was right, it was the best chicken noodle soup you’d ever had. Ten o’clock rolled around and even though it was considered early for you, you grabbed your pillow and blanket and started heading up the stairs. You were surprised when Jake followed you, considering that you had spent the few hours since you ate barely talking to each other.
“I need to shower,” you said as you got your pajamas out.
“Okay. I’ll wait here.”
He had sent a few texts to the Dagger Squad group chat while you were in the shower, saying that he’d see everyone in the morning but that he had to take care of you. You took a big sip of water before crawling under the covers, Jake following suit.
“What are you doing?” You asked as he wrapped an arm around your middle.
“Staying with you, if that’s okay.”
“What if I get you sick?”
“I’ll take time off. Mav loves me so it’ll be fine. I don’t want anything to happen to you through the night.”
“Oh. Okay. Then yeah, you can stay. But don’t come crying to me if you get the man flu.”
“Trust me, I won’t. My dad taught me and my brothers better than to be dramatic so that a woman will take care of us.”
“That’s good,” you said with a chuckle.

Imagine Me & You

A Jake “Hangman” Seresin fic.
First time writing TGM fanfic - please be gentle.
Jake stumbles across a woman on base that seems to enjoy the finer things in life... just like the future he’d like to build - with her in it.
Intro: Red Bottoms, Blue Box
The blessing and the curse of California is that the weather never really changed – at least not the same way it did in the Midwest. It lazed between the mid-70s and mid-80s, usually sunny and on an odd weekend, a whisper of rain if you were lucky. That was definitely the hardest part of the west coast that Mia needed to adjust to – that and the traffic.
Though her past three years in Malibu had prepared her for the weather, it was a far cry from her home in Omaha – a home she hadn’t visited in the last five years, at least.
One of the many blessings of Miramar was the ability to drive her father’s red 1973 Jaguar XKE, which wasn’t cut for the brutal cold and snow of Nebraska winters.
Like today, as she wound the classic, red two-seater down the road, she often felt like she was on another planet. Especially now as the base was quiet with limited staff around. But she knew that would be changing shortly. With warning from her directing attorney, she had the information that several aviators would be arriving on base within the next few weeks for an indeterminate amount of time. Sure, there were typically additional members hanging around the base for training or part of their stationing, but it could be quiet.
She was told it would no longer be quiet – and she welcomed it. As a contracting legal advisor and newly minted attorney, working on base in Fightertown, USA, was something she never saw herself doing.
However, after finishing law school at Pepperdine and without a family to return to in Nebraska, she moved as close as she could to where she needed to be – near her grandmother who was in a memory care facility in Del Mar.
Mia had no draw to the Navy, military or anything in the orbit of the armed forces. She wanted to be a short drive from grandma Dorothea and for now, was still pleased with living in California. The job posting was simply one that populated on her feed after setting up several alerts to her email after getting the seal of approval from the California Bar.
Her superior, Lt. Gen. Bozek, was a kind and understanding man, and didn’t treat her differently for being a young woman that was not enlisted. She could learn a lot from him, and at least for the last six months, had made a career in the military appealing as a civilian. She had her own private office on base and a moderate walk from other buildings, allowing her peace and quiet to do her job – which was primarily procedural review and small civilian-involved cases, along with assisting Bozek with any projects or cases he may need a hand with.
They worked from 9-4, cut off early on Fridays and occasionally his high-school-aged daughter would send him to work with a box of homemade cookies. He also ensured that she was treated with respect by all they encountered. He had warned her it was different for contracted civilians on base, and to be fair, it was a male-dominated base, but she never felt uncomfortable or unwelcome.
However, there were a few places on base that she hadn’t quite worked up the confidence to visit quite yet, including the NEX, or commissary.
There were many ways that Mia knew she was an outsider on base, and though she was doing her best to assimilate in her personal and professional life, something about the NEX gave her anxiety.
However, today was different. And Lt. Gen. Bozek knew it.
“You’ll be great! It’s just a grocery store!” He called as he waved her out of the parking space in front of their brick-and-mortar.
“I can do it!” Mia called back with a laugh, but positively shuddering internally.
She normally did most of her grocery shopping at Whole Foods off base, not far from her condo, but it was in the opposite direction of the base from her home and she needed two things to make a recipe for dinner tonight.
So she’d take her chances at the commissary.
Sure, she’d driven by it many times, and it surely looked just like any other store, but there was something about its presence that didn’t seem like she belonged. Her ID card told her otherwise.
Walking in, she popped her AirPods into her ear and dialed in the Bloomberg Law podcast. Though she came in simply for two lemons and a carton of heavy cream, by nature of habit, she grabbed a small push cart and started wandering up and down the aisles.
Now, with a basket filled with lemons, raspberries, feta, rosemary, capers and heavy cream, she turned toward the dry goods. Whole Foods had a lot of great things, but didn’t have Kraft Mac ‘N Cheese.
Turning a blind corner to the pasta and rice aisle, she came to an abrupt stop as her small cart stopped just an inch short of another living body.
“Sorry!” She squeaked, not bothering to take out her AirPods, looking up at the shopper. She carefully maneuvered her cart around him, but heard his voice in a soft muffle from beneath her podcast. Nearly passed, she popped out her left ear. “What was that?” She asked.
“There is a speed limit to those things,” he commented with the faintest hint of a smirk. Mia gave a sheepish smile and a lame exhale of a laugh.
“Sorry about that,” she repeated, giving him one more look before plugging her podcast back in and moving forward down toward the opposite end of the walkway. She was oddly emboldened with confidence, a contrast to her feelings upon arrival. At the end of the day, she was just here to get some lemons… and Kraft Dinner. Now hearing only the click of her heels and June Grasso’s voice, she scanned the aisles for what she wanted.
They had plenty of thick ‘n creamy, but where was the three cheese? Finally spotting it up on the top shelf, she rose up the few spare centimeters her heels hadn’t already elevated her and reached out her arm. With the first three boxes missing, she was having just a small difficulty grabbing what she wanted.
Rolling forward on her toes again and failing, she was moments from settling for Velveeta shells when a hand appeared her in periphery. Once again, the voice was muffled.
“One or two?” The man asked again, Mia hearing him clearly with her AirPods now in her empty hand.
“Two, please,” she replied. She paused her podcast with a squeeze before committing her attention to her helper. “Thanks, the heels only take me up so far.” She smiled, receiving the boxes. At 5’6, she needed the help she could get, and her nude Louboutins could only help so much.
“Red bottoms and a blue box,” he winked. She took a moment to scan the helpful stranger. Perfectly coiffed blonde hair, teeth from a Crest ad and green eyes that rivaled an exotic succulent. “A winning combination.”
She spared a glance down to his own basket – chicken breast, white rice and frozen broccoli.
“Disciplined,” she commented.
“Something like that,” he replied. “Jake Seresin.”
“Nice to meet you Lieutenant,” she dropped the two boxes into her little basket, not cluing away too much from his badge.
“I’d love to return the sentiment…”
“Mia,” she began – “no Lieutenant, though,” she added.
“I put that together myself,” he said, eyes glancing down to her cart and taking in the other, fresh ingredients. He longed for dinners at upscale steakhouses and seafood on the water.
“Thanks again,” she said, bidding him goodbye and turning the corner.
He wasn’t finished, but he’d let her go this time.
Upon arriving back home at her condo, nestled on the top floor of her building, she put away her few commissary items and began to work on dinner – chicken picatta and a raspberry feta salad.
“Hi sweetheart,” She crooned, pleased to see her baby brother’s face on her phone.
“Hi Mimi,” Jack Thomas replied, looking worse for wear with rumpled hair and nap imprints across his cheek.
“You just wake up?” She asked, tending carefully to her chicken cutlets.
“Yeah, we had a five a.m. run this morning and I had to go straight from weightlifting to class,” he replied, rubbing a hand across his face.
“Homework time?” Mia prompted.
“The boys and I are going to the tutor rooms in a bit to get some work done,” he trailed. “We go to Omaha next week,” he added quietly. Mia gave her brother her undivided attention. “You’ll be great, Jacky,” she encouraged. Even now, so many years later, it was hard to return to Nebraska.
“Thanks Mimi,” he mumbled. “Can I still come out to see you in July?” He asked – a few months out.
“Of course, Jacky, you know you’re always welcome,” she encouraged. “Just tell me the dates and I’ll book your ticket. I’ll even pick you up in the Jag,” she winked.
“Sounds good, I’m going to change quick before Timo and I take off,” he said, life coming back into his voice. “Love you, Mimi.”
“Love you too, Jack Jack.” She blew him a kiss before he ended the call.
Wrapping up her dinner, she brought her plate out to the little bistro table on her deck, looking out as she enjoyed her meal. Absently, she wondered if she’d see Lieutenant Seresin again.

Tumblr media
Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin. He was cocky, he was over the top, he was arrogant, and despite all that, he was the love of your life. You two had met on a beach in Florida while he was stationed there. One thing led to another and you found yourself picking up your clothes off his floor at three in the morning before sneaking out. You had left your number just in case, and by God were you happy you did.
You definitely weren’t expecting him to call you the next morning, certainly not expecting him to ask to meet up for coffee. He didn’t seem like the type to talk to his one night stands, but who were you to turn down the chance to see him again?
The coffee shop that he had asked you to meet at was a local favorite, one you had been to on countless occasions, but yet walking through those doors today made you far more nervous than you ever had been before.
‘It’s just coffee.’ You reminded yourself as you scanned the coffee shop for him.
You thanked the heavens above that he wasn’t there yet before ordering your coffee and taking refuge in the booth that sat in the far corner. Your eyes stayed trained on the door, watching each and every patron that walked in, before you finally saw him.
He wasn’t dressed in anything special, just jeans and a tee shirt, but yet he looked like a Greek God in just that. He saw you immediately, winking in your direction before ordering his own coffee. Never in your entire life has a man made you as nervous as he did right now, walking over towards you with the cockiest smirk that you had ever seen on another human being.
“Well hey there, sweets.” He grinned, taking a seat in the booth across from you.
You could feel the heat rising to your chest and neck until it reached your cheeks as you shifted under his gaze. “Hey.” You hummed, offering him a small smile.
You’ll admit, it was a slow start, but soon the conversation between you two flowed easily. He told you all about his job, and listened intently as you spoke of yours. At some point the two of you left the coffee shop and settled for walking around the town, laughs falling from the both of you as you shared stories and told jokes.
“When can I see you again?” He asked, smiling at you, a real smile, one that made the corners of his eyes crinkle. One that warmed your heart, one that you wanted to see each and every day.
“You can see me anytime you’d like, Jake.”
After that it was rare that you didn’t see him. He became a staple in your life, and you liked to think that you were one in his as well. Whenever you were with him it felt like an adventure and the more you were around him the more you wanted to be with him as much as possible. And you’d be lying to yourself if you said you didn’t get excited each and every time you saw him.
Sure, he definitely was an asshole, that much you could say, but when it was just the two of you it was like he was a completely different person. He showed you a side that you were certain that no one else got to see. Around you he was so much softer, he made you laugh until you cried, he listened carefully anytime you were having a stressful day, and beyond that all, he held you like you were going to slip away at any given moment.
Your favorite though was when you got to experience his midnight rambling as the two of you laid in bed. He would talk to you about anything and everything under the moon from his childhood, to his life in the navy, to what he wanted his future to look like. If it came to his mind, it was almost a guarantee that he was going to tell you.
The last thing you ever expected was for you to fall in love with him, but you did. And fuck, did you fall hard. Everything about him only made you love him more, from the way he snored at night, to the way he would chuckle at your cheesy jokes, to the way he looked at you. Everything about him you loved. To your surprise he fell in love with you, you weren’t too sure when it happened, but the two of you just found yourselves saying it to each other. You didn’t even realize it until after nearly a week of doing it because it felt so natural.
“I’m gonna run down to the store to get some more snacks real quick, need anything?” He asked, making you look up from where you were standing in front of his couch setting up the rest of the things for your movie night. It had become a weekly occurrence that on Friday nights, after a week of work, you two would cuddle up on his couch and watch a number of movies.
“Uh, can you see if they have that one ice cream?” You grinned, watching him raise a brow at you, waiting for you to clarify. “The one with the kit-kat chunks in it.”
He couldn’t help the smile that formed on his lips as he nodded at you, “I’ll see if they have it. I’ll be right back. I love you.” He hummed, starting towards his front door.
“I love you too.” You smiled, before the both of you just stopped. Reality setting in of what had just happened. You both turned to face each other, surprise dancing across both of your faces, “Did you just…” You trailed, praying that you had heard him right, and that you didn’t just out yourselves.
“I did, and you just, you too?” He stumbled, watching you nod. You both watched each other, smiles growing on your faces. “Okay, well, I will definitely be right back.”
Over time it changed from him talking about his future in general to him talking about his future with you. “I wanna come home to you every day for the rest of my life.” After that, he had you wrapped around his finger. So when he asked you to travel to North Island with him you didn’t hesitate to say yes. You packed up everything you’d need, spoke with your job about doing work from home and left with him.
Now, you found yourself sitting alone in the house that he was renting for the duration of his time here. You had been here for all of a few days and you could easily tell that this mission that he was called here for was more dangerous than he cared to admit. While he couldn’t tell you in full what the mission was exactly he could tell you that it called for two miracles and a dog fight all the way home.
That alone made a pit form in your stomach, the thought of losing him growing abundantly clear. You knew Jake loved his job more than he loved life itself, and he was damn good at it too, but the thought of knowing that there was a good chance that he may not come back to you was enough to make you want to break down then and there.
The silence between you two was thick and heavy. He had come home from Admiral Kazansky’s funeral, and hadn’t spoken a word to you since he’d been home. You stared at him from where you sat across from each other in the living room, a sigh escaping your lips. “Jake,” You began, watching him lift his head to stare at you.
“Don’t, please, don’t start this.” He muttered, seeming to know what was exactly on your mind. “You knew what the risks of dating me were when we first got together.” And that was true. The night that you both had said ‘I love you’ to each other, you two had a lengthy conversation about everything.
Your body was pressed to his, a smile resting on your face as you laid atop his chest, his arms wrapped tightly around you. “We need to talk,” He began, making you raise a brow. “I know we’ve only just said I love you, but I need you to know that if you’re gonna date me, that if you’re gonna stick around, I need you to understand that there may be a day that I get sent out on a mission and I may not come back.” He said, and you swore he could feel your chest tighten at his words.
“Babe,” You started, making him shake his head.
“Sweets, I know that’s not something you or anyone else wants to hear but I need you to know, I need you to understand that I vowed to give my life for this country if I had too.” He explained, letting out a soft sigh. “I know that’s a hard thing to hear, hell it’s a hard thing to even say, but I just want you to know what you’re getting yourself into.”
“I know, I know what I was getting into, Jake, but that never meant I had to like it. I understand that you made a vow to the Navy, but that still doesn’t stop the fact that I’m terrified of losing you.” You sighed, a hand nervously running through your hair. “Jake, what if you get in that plane and you don’t come back to me?”
“Do you trust me?” He asked, raising a brow at you.
Of course you trusted him, you trusted him with every fiber in your being. “Jake, I trust you with my life, but I’m not so sure I trust you with yours.” You stated, not missing the look of hurt that flashed across his face.
You had heard from the other aviators just how much of a reckless pilot he could be. Yes, you knew that he was one of best pilots that there was but you also knew that there were times that he threw caution to the wind, and dove in head first despite the impeccable danger that awaited him.
“What does that even mean?” He questioned, staring at you with a slight glare. “You don’t trust me with my own life? I’m a damn good pilot, and you know that. I’m a part of the best pilots there is, and quite frankly I think I’m in a better position to trust myself with my life than you are.” He hissed, and you felt your breath get caught in your throat.
You hadn’t intended for this to turn into a fight, but judging by the way he was glaring at you, you knew that’s where the two of you were heading. “Jake, stop, I don’t wanna fight with you.” You groaned, standing up from where you were sitting, moving towards the kitchen, attempting to put a distance between the two of you.
“Well, telling me that you don’t trust me with my life wasn’t the best route for that was it?” He stated, getting up from his spot on the couch to follow you. “What do you even mean? Do you not believe in me or something?”
You let out a low sigh as you leaned against the kitchen counter, shaking your head at his question, “I didn’t say that, did I?” You fired back, slightly offended that he even thought that. He knew you believed in him, hell, you believed in him more than you did in yourself on some days. You knew just how much work and effort he had put in to get to where he was.
“Then what the hell do you mean?” He yelled, making you squeeze your eyes shut. You didn’t wanna do this, not now. You knew that if you stayed here and argued it would do more harm than good.
“Just forget about it, okay? Forget I even said anything.” You muttered, grabbing your keys off the counter, walking by him towards the front door.
“Where the hell are you going?” He asked, watching you slip your shoes on. “Do not walk out that door, you’re not leaving until we’re done here.”
“The hell I am, Jake. I’m not gonna stand here and argue with you about the fact that you could die on this mission, okay? I’m just not gonna do it.” You hissed, swinging the door open before storming out, the door slamming behind you.
You weren’t even sure where you were going, hell you were hardly even sure where you were at, but that didn’t stop you from letting your legs carry you down the street. At some point you found yourself sitting on the beach, your legs pulled up to your chest as you watched the waves crash down on the shore.
You knew that it was childish to leave in the middle of the argument, but when he wasn’t even willing to let you explain yourself without yelling at you, what choice did you have? You let out a soft groan as you buried your face into your knees, your jeans soaking up your tears. You couldn’t understand why he didn’t see where you were coming from.
You didn’t know how long you had sat on the beach for, silently watching the sun sink down in the sky, before you looked to the side hearing someone clear their throat. You let out a sigh as Jake stood in front of you, a somber look on his face. “If you just came here to argue, you can go ahead and head back to the house.” You stated, watching him shake his head, as he moved to sit next to you. You knew that it was only a matter of time until he found you, the both of you insisting that you shared your locations with one another.
The two of you were quiet for a while, like you were both daring each other to speak first. “Babe,” He finally sighed, pulling your attention away from the sunset, “Look, I’m sorry, okay? I don’t wanna fight.”
You let out a soft breath, nodding your head, “Jake, I didn’t wanna fight from the start of this.” You began, your hands nervously running up and down your legs. “Look, I believe in you, I do, I need you to understand that. I’m well aware that you are the best of the best, but that doesn’t put any of my fears to rest. You told me yourself that what you do is dangerous, and I accepted that, but that also means you have to accept that it’s not just you anymore, okay? You have someone that will mourn you, you have someone that will grieve over your death, you have someone that is praying each and every time that you get in that plane that you’re coming back safe. I trust you with everything in me, I do, but hearing from the other aviators on how you fly sometimes, well, it scares me. You dive into any situation head first without a second thought. That scares me, okay? From the little you’ve told me about this mission, it seems that it’s almost certain that someone isn’t gonna make it home alive, and Jake if that’s you, I don’t know what I’ll do.” You spoke, your hands moving from your legs to wipe your eyes.
You watched his face soften at your words, his arms wrapping around you, pulling you against him. “Hey, shh, it’s okay.” He hummed, pressing a soft kiss to your head before pulling back. “Look, baby, I can’t say for sure that this mission won’t kill me because you know as well as I do the dangers of my job, but what I can say is, I’ll be safer from here on out. I’m not used to having someone in my life care so deeply about whether or not I come home alive from a mission. I’ve always flown solo, but I realized the day I met you I didn’t wanna do that anymore. I wish I could sit here and promise you that I’ll come back to you safe and sound but that’s just not something I can do, but I can promise you that I’ll try my damndest too.” He said, smiling weakly down at me.
“That’s all I ask.” You said, softly smiling up at him. “I love you, Jake Seresin.”
“And I love you.”

If I Didn’t Love You (Part II) || JAKE 'HANGMAN' SERESIN
Tumblr media
PAIRING: Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin x fem!reader
SYNOPSIS: After your discovery in part 1, you do everything you can to finally move on, but jake makes it harder when he shows up on your doorstep
WARNINGS: angsty, language
WORD COUNT: 2.5k words
A/N: THIS IS FOR ALL Y’ALL WHO SAID I BROKE YOUR HEART 🫶🏼
|| Part I ||
Weeks went by since you knocked on Jake’s door, with his wife answering. And it had been just as long since you’d seen him, hoping that his California plans would fall into place sooner rather than later. When you thought about that moment on the steps to his house, the house you used to know so well, and the feeling of your stomach churning as the pretty girl hung onto his arm, your heart broke a little more each time. The only peace you got was when you slept, but it started all over again once you woke up.
Day by day, you found yourself slowly accepting the fact that you and Jake were just not destined to be together, and you grew comfortable with the possibility that there would eventually be another partner out there for you. And after a while, it got easier. You began to go back into town more often, dressed up for yourself, because at the end of the day, all you had was you. Part of you was happy, in a weird sort of way. All Jake had ever wanted was a happy marriage and a big family, and it looked like he was on his way to getting that. How could you not wish him the best? After all, he deserved it.
The only problem that remained was if you managed to avoid running into Jake and his wife, you couldn’t get away from him completely. As you simply went to do your grocery shopping, the eyes of different older women watched your movements and whispered amongst themselves.
“Poor honey, it must be hard to see him back in town with a new girl.”
“I heard his new wife practically begged him to propose. You think he even wanted to do such a thing?”
“Well, I heard he helped his old sweetheart home after she got too drunk. What kinda man does that for his ex-girlfriend if he doesn’t love her still?”
Your eyes awkwardly met those of the gossiping women after that last statement; they offered looks of pity as you placed the produce into your cart, but you promised that you were fine. When you placed your items on the belt in line for the register, you hadn’t noticed the head-shaking and death glares the cashier sent toward the group of ladies. The cashier was an older man, Mr. Johnny, who looked younger than he really was, his hair was only barely beginning to gray, but you remembered when his hair was colored completely. He owned the market too, and mainly employed high-achieving high school students to keep his store running because, in his words, “squares can be trusted”—but he only revealed this to you after you’d gotten your first job with him at sixteen.
“How’re you doing, Mr. Johnny?” You ask him, as he bags your groceries.
“Better than you, I suppose,” his light-colored eyes peek up at you behind his glasses as he scans your items. “I’ve heard and seen all the women here talk about your business like you ain’t around. How are you doin’?”
Sighing, you chuckled a little. Your hometown was nowhere near as big as something like New York City, but it sure wasn’t small enough to not appear on a map. Yet still, drama and gossip swirled around endlessly from one side of town to the other. “I’m fine.” you say, giving a polite smile.
“So you’ve moved on?”
“Mmhm.” You nod your head, looking around the store, clasping your hands together.
“Look at me,” Mr. Johnny paused for a moment, grabbing your attention as he stared into your eyes like he was looking for something, almost squinting as he did so. “You’re full of shit.”
You laugh at his forwardness, “Only sometimes.”
“You both are soulmates,” he began. “The day you can be in the same space as him and not feel a thing in your heart is the day love don’t exist.”
“How would you know if Jake and I are soulmates? Don’t they usually end up together?” You questioned, not really believing in the whole soulmate idea. How was it determined that one person belonged to only one other human in the entire world? The odds seemed stacked against the idea of a “soulmate”, but Mr Johnny’s face as he explained the idea to you said otherwise.
“No, not always. But everyone’s got one. And I know because I used to look at my darling Maria the way you looked at him.”
“But you ma—”
“I know,” Mr Johnny cut you off, already knowing what you were gonna say. “I didn’t marry her. I married my sweet Jenny.” He paused, before looking you in the eyes. “Now I love my Jenny, and she knows it too, there ain’t no doubt about that. But if my Maria came back into my life before I married Jenny, I would’ve never let her go again. And if I saw her walk through that door right now, I can’t say that my heart wouldn’t leap a little. My Maria and I were destined to be together, just not in this life.” A twinge of sadness and regret was evident in his voice as he spoke, like he mourned Maria’s memory. You couldn’t help but see yourself in him and it pained you, heart aching all over again. Mr Johnny had a way of giving odd advice in the years that you knew him, especially in the most unlikely of places- like right now in the middle of a grocery store.
“But Jake’s not mine anymore,” you argue, voice soft to keep from breaking. “He hasn’t been for a long time.” With a sigh, you pay the total, and strain a smile before leaving as quickly as you could. Right when you thought you were managing fine, you’re brought out of your illusion.
And the illusion all but crumbled when you pulled up to your street, Jake sitting on your front porch steps, waiting for you. When his eyes meet yours through the car windshield as you pull into your driveway, he stands up abruptly, almost falling backward like he hasn’t stood up in hours. The thought of pulling back out and never returning creeps into your mind, and for a minute, it feels like a damn good idea. Instead, you turn the ignition off, and collect your groceries from the passenger seat.
“Can we talk?” Jake asked as you approached your front door. He took the bags out of your arms, giving you the chance to unlock the door.
“Jake,” you sigh, shoulders slumping. “I-I don’t think it's a good id—”
“Please.”
In that moment, it seemed that Mr Johnny was right—seeing him there with those damned green eyes, occupying the same space, holding your groceries for you; it was all very sweet and domestic, really, and inside, your heart definitely felt something. You reluctantly agree, and allow Jake inside. After he sets the groceries down on your dining table, silence seems to overcome him. He’s at one end of the table, you on the other, both of you afraid to take just one step closer to the other.
“I, uh, I haven’t seen you around lately. Are you okay?” He asks. The truth was he hadn’t seen you since you went by his house, and that was saying something. People in town couldn’t just not run into each other unless that was the intent. And Jake felt like you were avoiding him.
“Mhm,” you squeak, nodding your head furiously. “Never better.”
“Oh, really?” He questioned with a knowing glint in his eye. “Doin’ so good you avoid everyone in town for three weeks? People have been talking, y’know.”
You scoff and cross your arms, “That’s all they seem to be doing nowadays.”
“Can’t say I blame them, though,” he said. “I mean, an old cowboy comes back to his hometown with a new girl. I’m surprised they haven’t put it in the paper.”
Running your hands down your face, your tired eyes meet his. You were tired of the same old story running around town, tired of having to relive it all, tired of pretending... you were just tired. “What’re you doing here, Jake, really? I know it’s not to tell me about the gossip ‘cause I can just as easily go into town and find it all out for myself.”
“Sweetheart, please—”
“Don’t,” you say firmly, feeling the mixed emotions play around inside you as the old pet name still rings in your ears. “Just don’t.”
“I need to know if you’re okay,” Jake begins. “It feels like you don’t want anything to do with me. I go one way, and you run the opposite direction. Why—”
“Because I still love you, you idiot!” You shout, throwing your hands up, almost accidentally hitting Jake right in the process. “If I didn’t, I’d be better off in life than I am right now! I wouldn’t be drunk every goddamn weekend trying to drown out your memory. I’d be far away from this town, probably married by now, but no. Part of me held on to the possibility of you coming back, so I stayed here. And I tried, Jake, I really did. I tried to let go. I tried finding something like what we had, but I couldn’t. Do you know how hard it is living here, everyday being reminded that I let go of the only man my heart could love? A-and now you’re back, and I have to relive that shit all over again, and Jesus, don’t even get me started on the people in town, with all their talk, a-and...” You ramble on and on, to the point that your sentences string together with no pauses, no breaths in between, and you let out all the pent up feelings from the last ten years.
“Then why’d you walk away from us, huh? From me?” Jake’s gaze narrowed at you, and suddenly you felt like you and him were in your old home together, fighting and shouting endlessly.
“I did what I thought was right! You don’t think it hurt me too? I’m the one who made the decision so that you could live your dream!”
“Goddammit,” Jake muttered, pacing around your living room, before setting his eyes on you again. “That dream meant nothing to me without you!”
“What do you want me to say, Jake?” You take a seat in the dining room, resting your head in your palms, elbows propped up on the wooden table. “T-that I wish things were different? That I could take things back?” Abruptly standing up, you go to the door, opening it as an invitation for Jake to leave before any more damage was caused. “I-I think you should go. Your wife is probably wondering where you are and it won’t be long before someone sees your truck here.”
“She’s not my wife,” Jake’s gaze met the floor, like he was ashamed. It was only then you realized he wasn’t admiring your carpet, but his eyes were glued to the ring he held in his hand—the same one the girl was wearing at his house a few weeks ago. His eyes met yours, and he could see the confusion on your face. Part of him thought he saw a bit of relief too, but he couldn’t be sure. He slowly approaches the door, closing it shut, and trapping you between him and the door. “I met her a couple years ago, and things were fine. But then she kept pressing and hinting about marriage after a few months. Didn’t help that her folks seemed to always ask the same thing too.”
Was it wrong to feel happy that he wasn’t technically married yet?
“I came home a while ago to clear my head before I proposed, hoping maybe I’d see you. Maybe I’d have the guts to say something,” he admitted. “But I saw you out with some guy, and you looked happy. I couldn’t take that away from you.”
You could feel your face become hot and your vision blurred at his confession. Partly from regret, and partly from anger. If only he’d just gone up to you that day, maybe things right now would be different.
“So I went back, proposed, and here we are, ‘cause I kept pushing the wedding off. Deep down, she knew something was off, and kept trying to force it to work between us. It’s why she insisted on saying husband and wife instead of fiancé.” he continued. “Truth is I didn’t have to come back before I left for California. This was sort of a ‘let’s try and make it work’ trip before then,” he shoved the ring back into his pocket. “It didn’t work.”
“You could’ve gone anywhere in the world to make things work with her,” you observe. “Why here?”
By this time, Jake’s close presence to you is short-circuiting your brain. He’s so close to you that you think he can hear your heart race. His green eyes search yours, looking for an answer. “I-just-I-I needed to see you again. I needed to know if I’m making the right decision.”
“The right decision by marrying her?”
“No,” his fingers lightly brush the palm of your hand, and instinctively, your fingers intertwine with his. “By staying here. With you.”
You crane your neck upwards, and now the gap between you is even smaller than it was before, and you press your lips against his. Jake removes his hand from yours, only to place both of his on either side of your head as your lips move in sync. There’s no worry, no anxiety, no pain, just pure instinct that his lips belonged on yours. Jake kisses you with such fervor, that words didn’t need to be spoken in order for you to know that he craved this just as much as you did. The only reason you pull away is to take in the moment, to take in the fact that Jake Seresin is actually standing in your home, and actually kissed you after all these years apart.
Maybe Mr. Johnny was right. Maybe soulmates did exist. In some wicked plan of the universe, you and Jake had fallen apart, only to be brought back with more passion for each other than ever. Even though Mr. Johnny was happily married to Jenny, there was nobody waiting for you after Jake. Your heart was, is, and always has been Jake Seresin’s.
Jake rubs his thumbs softly against your soft cheeks, pressing your foreheads together. “I can’t go another ten years without you.”
“And you’ll never have to.” Your arms snake around Jake’s body, hugging him with such a mighty grip that he chuckles. His strong arms around you bring back a feeling of safety and love that you’d missed so much over the years. Neither of you knew where your second attempt at a relationship would lead, but one thing was for certain—you were never letting him go again.

Jake comes home to see asleep in bed with your pets. He's quick to change and join in on the evening cuddles.
PuPPIEZ oh yes I'm all in for domestic Jake Seresin 😭💕
Jake loves his babies. And when he says his babies, he's talking about the dogs and you, of course. You two have a 4 year old golden retriever named Tucker and a tabby kitten you found almost six months ago in the backyard. The kitten's name is Cheddar because yes, Jake saw an orange cat and said: "Looks like a cheddar fur ball"
Those two are absolutely in love with you. For example, you're watching a movie with Jake and you get up from the sofa, going to the kitchen to get something to eat. You immediately have Tucker and Cheddar following you around the house. It doesn't matter where you go, even if you get out of the bed to go to the toilet, they'll wait for you at the door.
So it doesn't surprise Jake when he arrives home one night and sees you've dozen off in bed, a random movie on the TV, Tucker sleeping next to your legs, his head over them, and Cheddar curled in your arms. He moves carefully, trying not to wake up any of you and takes a picture, knowing that this would be in the folder he has on his phone gallery. It's the one he uses when he's away and he misses you and the fur babies.
After taking the picture, he goes change and gets under the covers. The movement wakes Tucker but Jake pets his head softly, and he goes back to sleep. Fearing that any of you would awake, he kisses your forehead softly yet lovingly, and turns off the lights before cuddling his favorite baby: you.

What it’s like dating…
Jake “Hangman” Seresin | Dating HC| Fluffy.
Warnings: None, mainly fluffy.
Summary: What I think it’ll be like dating hangman :)
Tumblr media
* You not liking him and basically hating him at first, you thought he was an arrogant asshole and wanted nothing to do with him that is before you actually got to know him.
* He’s super sweet, and the exact opposite of what you thought he was. He’s considerate, selfless, caring and thoughtful. He puts on a front because he’s scared of people taking advantage of his kindness etc.
* He always apologizes first after a fight. Even if he wasn’t at fault he’ll still usually apologize because he doesn’t want to lose you. He didn’t date often, which means that he didn’t really have anyone special in his life so obviously he’s going to do what he can to show you that you’re special to him.
* Him being with you makes him more of a tolerable person, being in a relationship with you has taught him there’s nothing wrong with admitting to being wrong and apologizing. He learns to be more empathetic and somewhat apologetic.
* Jake rarely gets jealous, he gets jealous from time to time, he’s confident in your relationship. Problem is that in the back of his mind he thinks that you could do better. He absolutely despises men flirting with you at the bar, he’ll pull you closer to him and start kissing your neck and leaving hickies as the other guy watches.
* Sex with him is amazing. He’s gentle, sweet and tries to make your first time together comfortable for you. He puts your pleasure before his own, he wants to make you feel like you’re in heaven. Although that doesn’t mean he won’t fuck you like a slut.
* He fucking loves when you’re loud, your moaning is like music to his ears he’ll do anything to make you louder than you already are. After a night with this man you’ll find love bites all over your neck and inner thighs.
* Public sex, he doesn’t believe it should only be reserved for the bedroom. He loves quickies they’re not his favorite because he likes to take his time but if it really comes down to it he’ll gladly fuck you publicly.
* Jake loves PDA. He loves being affectionate with you, he loves kissing and hugging you and doing all that lovey stuff everywhere. He doesn’t care where it is he’ll go kiss you and tell you he loves you.
* Rooster and Maverick tease and make fun of him all of the time because he won’t stop talking about you. They also find it really cute that Hangman is happy with someone and not being a dickhead.
* You comfort him after long days, you give him massages, do self care, skin care, watch movies together or just spend time in each other’s company while doing your own things. You massage him all of the time. Especially his shoulders, due to the constant pressure on his shoulders.
* He’s very cuddly & clingy, you wouldn’t have ever guessed Jake being the clingy kind of guy but once he’s alone with you he immediately starts clinging to you. You absolutely love it.
* Lots of love making. Even though he doesn’t think sex is better than love, he thinks it’s one of the best ways to let you know how much he loves you.
* You find him incredibly charming, honestly you always thought he was cute but didn’t think he’d be into you until one night he drunkenly confessed to being in love with you and confirmed the next day sober.
* He plans super romantic and well thought out dates. You could’ve spoke about something you liked once and he would incorporate it into your date somehow. You might not think that he’s listening to your rambling but he is and is taking mental notes of what you’re talking about.
* You said I love you first. He was ranting about some guy that was flirting with you and you eventually got sick of his ranting.
* “Jake! You have absolutely nothing to worry about, I’m in love with you. I want no one but you I love you” I say sighing deeply. “You what?” He says confused furrowing his brows together. “I love you?” his eyes light up and he smiles widely “Y/n I love you too” He pulls me into a warm kiss.
* You’re pretty shy and for the most party easily flustered, although you and him have been together for a while he still makes you nervous and he loves to see how easily flustered you get. Let’s not go on about how cocky he is while flirting with you.
* You worrying about his safety when he goes on missions, he comes back to reassure you that he knows what he’s doing and that he’s safe.
* “ Y/n” Jake speaks softly, you look up at him with sad eyes. “Jake I was worried about you” you say with teary eyes. “Baby don’t worry i’ll always come home to you” he says kissing your forehead. As odd as it is in that very moment Jake knew he wanted to marry you.
* Jake takes you out to a nice new restaurant the two of you have been speaking of. He’s been seeming a little frantic and you’re about to ask for answers. After the date you two begin taking a late night stroll on the beach, the sound of the calming waves and smell of salt water invaded my nostrils. I lightly squeeze his hand tighter. Soon enough Jake gets down on one knee. “Y/n you’ve changed my life in more ways than you know, and being with you has made me a better person, I want to spend the rest of my life with you I want to have children and go grey with you, you deserve all of the good things the world has to offer such as myself” he chuckles “ All i’m asking if that you make me the happiest man alive and be my wife. You stood there shocked before practically tackling him to the ground. “Yes” you place sloppy wet kisses all over his face.
* Soon enough after your honeymoon you discovered that you were pregnant. You couldn’t wait to tell your husband and all of your family and friends, but nothing could’ve ever prepared him for when you’re going into labor. Not until it happened, no amount of classes for what to do and what to expect could have prepared him or you for it. You were so nervous, so scared and so anxious. You were in labor 10 hours before giving birth, you were so anxious but nonetheless you gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.
* Your friends being super supportive throughout the entire pregnancy and buying things for the baby before he was born. They helped design the nursery for him. It was mainly you and Jake but they came over and helped paint etc.
*James Bruce Seresin looking almost exactly like his father.
* The crew loving the baby and always buying him gifts and things like diapers, clothes, toys, etc. They often come over just to see him, they always argue over who gets to hold him first. Maverick deciding he gets to hold the baby first.

I’ve had to put in even more hours at work this week, I think up to 60 at this point. Could I just get some fluffy Hangman helping me relax? Thank you!!!
Sure thing!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A small groan exited Y/N’s lips, her eyes slowly opening but closing again almost immediately as the sun was glaring through the partially open curtain.
A sigh escalate to lips as she rolled over to cuddle her lover, but came to an empty right-hand side of the bed. Y/N lifted herself onto her elbow, her head surveying the room to try and locate Jake, but once more came up empty.
The sound of the shower running made her smile, so she slowly lifted herself from the bed, removed her sleep shorts and shirt and walked into the bathroom. The distorted image of her husbands back made her smile to herself, climb in behind him and wrap her arms around his midsection.
“Good morning, beautiful.” Jake muttered, turning to place a gentle kiss to her forehead. Y/N hummed and just kept her arms around his body, letting the warm water wash over own.
“Mom!” The loud, obnoxious, voice of their 12 year old daughter had Y/N groaning into Jake’s chest; the man laughing and kissing her forehead again and remove himself from her embrace.
“I’ll do breakfast.” Y/N nodded and let Jake leave the shower, her own washing routine beginning to take place.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Y/N entered the kitchen, she found herself looking at something that made her fall in love all over again.
Her two 12 year olds, the twins, were sat at the dining table eating their waffles and their 8 month old baby boy was perched on Jake’s hip, suckling on his shoulder.
Jake, he was a sight for sore eyes. Jake was preparing Mason’s bottle, with a little tube of baby food for after his morning feed. Y/N walked toward her the eldest and placed a kiss on both their foreheads and sat herself beside her oldest son.
“How’d you sleep, baby?” Her son looked toward her she smiled at her with a grin she would love forever.
“Good, mama!” He leant toward her for a moment and went back to his waffles.
“And you, Ellie?” Hun asked her daughter, who looked up at Y/N with a small smile.
“It was okay.” She grumbled.
Jake scoffed and turned with a chuckle.
“You told me you had an amazing sleep!” He walked over to the dining table and placed two more plates of waffles down, one for himself and one for Y/N. “Said you had a good dream two.”
Ellie just rolled her eyes and glared at Dylan when he chuckled and agreed with his father.
“Enough, you two.” Y/N scolded and dug into her waffles; moaning slightly at the cinnamon taste.
An alarm rang from the kitchen and the whole dining table groaned, Mason joining in despite not really knowing what was going on.
Jake lifted himself from the table and grabbed his khaki shirt and waited for Y/N to do up the buttons for him.
“Have a good day, handsome.” Y/N cooed and and placed a small peck to his lips.
“I will, beautiful, don’t ware yourself out.”

Day 27 ~ Reunion
Tumblr media
Reuniting with Jake after he is done with the Uranium mission.
“Come on Y/N we are going to be late.” You teammate yelled as you got ready for the finals of your last college soccer game. “We need our captain to give a few encouraging words.” Your best friend smiled sadly as she watched you put back the photo of Jake in your locker. “Yeah, yeah keep your panties on I’m coming.” You smiled at her throwing your arm around her neck pulling her along to the front of the locker room.
“Okay girls gather round.” You heard your coach call as she sees you arrive with Y/B/F/N. “Okay girls a few encouraging words from our lovely captain and maybe co-captain then it is us and the field.” Coach smiled and turned towards you with a nod grinning as you stood in front of the team.
“Okay girls this is our last match for the season. And some of our last matches ever.” You started smiling with tears gathering in your eyes looking out onto the girls you can now call your sisters. “We are going to win this match no matter what. We trained hard for this moment right here. The only ones who can tell you, you can’t win this is yourself and you don’t have to listen to that little voice.” You smiled at each girl on the team.
“The are five S’s of sport and those are: stamina, speed, strength, skill, and spirit - but the greatest of these are spirit. We should have a lot of spirit. With all these we can win this match.” You finished with a loud cheer causing the girls to cheer after you. “Okay girls get ready so that we can kick some ass.” Your best friend yelled causing the whole squad to cheer, chanting ‘kick some ass’ as you walked out of the locker room and onto the field.
Tumblr media
“Okay ladies as Alex Morgan once said, Always work hard, never give up, and fight until the end because it’s never really over until the whistle blows.” You said towards your teammates during a quick water break. “We got this we are winning so far and if we keep this up we can win nationals. Are you ready?” you questioned then. “We’re ready Cappy.” They replied with tired smiles. “Okay girls you are very talented ladies. There are ten minutes left, win this game for us.” Your coach encouraged along with you.
Tumblr media
Cheering is all you can hear as you kick the ball into the goal post causing your team to win 6 – 2. Your teammates are running towards your with big smiles on their faces. “We did it Y/N.” “We did it captain.” Was some of the cheers going on around you. Smiling at Y/B/F/N you pick up your shirt to wipe your forehead. “Come on girls lets line up so that we can shake hands.” Your coach yelled causing you guys to quickly fall in line to shake the other teams hands. After shaking hands you were told to line up again as the ceremony is about to start.
“Girls, parents, friends and family I would like to thank you all for coming to this wonderful game that we have just experienced.” Your coach started as she got onto the stage. “I would like to take this time to award each captain with a trophy for participation.” The Dean said as you and the other captain walked onto the stage. Accepting the trophies with smiles. “Now miss Y/L/N I would like you to stay a sec.” he said with a grin waving towards your teammates to come to the stage.
“Now it my absolute pleasure to welcome a special guest to hand over this cup to the winning team. I could not be any prouder than I am now to announce Mister Jake Seresin.” The Dean said causing your heart to flutter at the name you haven’t heard in a while. Walking on stage in his flight suit he all but grinned at you with that cheeky smile of his along a wink.
“It is an honour to announce this year’s winners. Ladies and gentlemen give a round of applause to this year’s winners the Purple Devils.” Jake cheered into the microphone stepping towards you with a big smile handing over the trophy. Giving you a quick peak causing your team to ‘oooh’ at the affection Jake was showing towards you causing you to giggle into the hug he pulled you in whispering that he has missed you a lot. “Thank you Mister Seresin.” The Dean smiled at him.
“Now please give a last round of applause to the winning team as we had over their medals.” Your coach said overlooking the crowd as they started to cheer when the medals are being placed around you and your teammates necks.

“Okay ladies I would like you to welcome your new captain Stacy. Stacy you have shown the most improvement over the two years that I have known you and I believe you will be a wonderful captain towards this team. Lookout for your team and please encourage them along the way that I know you can do.” You said smiling at the girls as you stood in a circle after the ceremony. Just as you are about to go on you heard the girls squeal and you turned around to find Jake on one knee with a black ring box behind you causing your hands to cover your mouth.
“Baby I have missed you so, so much.” He starts with that stupid grin on his face that you just can’t get enough of. “Y/N. You are my motivation, my inspiration, and my aspiration. You understand what happiness is and when I am with you it is all I can experience. We both want a colourful and memorable life, and we can make our dreams come true if we work together. That's when I knew I want, no I need you to spend the rest of my life with me.” He said with tears in his eyes. “Baby girl would you do me the honour and be my wife. Will you marry me?” he asked with a shaky breath.
You nodded and the team around you cheered. “Yes, yeah. Yes I will marry you Jakey. I love you so much.” You said kissing him as he stood up after pulling away he took your hand and slid the ring onto your finger with ease. “I love you so, so much baby girl I can’t wait to be married to you.” “I can’t wait to be married to you either. I love you so much babe.” You said pulling him in for another kiss.

Bradley wanted to have a dinner party with everyone before you had the baby. You were around two weeks away from your due date, so you were mostly at home resting before the baby came, anyway. He told you that he would take care of everything around the house so that you could continue to relax, something that you were thankful for. (The dinner party was his idea and you would’ve ripped his head off if he asked you to cook for ten people.) Maverick and Penny were the first to walk in, handing you a gift bag full of baby stuff because they were out of town during your baby shower. You had been experiencing mild contractions throughout the day, but you were so close to giving birth that you passed them off as Braxton-Hicks.
You sat at the dining table in between Bradley and Hangman and you felt huge. You didn’t eat at the table often since getting pregnant because you didn’t feel as big as you were if you sat on the couch with your dinner. As you ate, the contractions started to get stronger and closer together, but you didn’t want to change the pace of the night.
Fanboy and Payback said that they were going to get the fire pit going, and you told everyone that they could go and have fun even though you were going to bed. So, Hangman was surprised to see you loading and unloading the dishwasher at almost midnight.
“What are you doing? You shouldn’t be bending over like that,” he said as he took over doing the dishes for you.
“I think I’m in labor,” you softly whispered. It took a moment for it to register in his head as he turned to you with a look of shock on his face.
“What? For how long?”
You glanced at the clock on the microwave and looked back at him.
“I don’t know, but it’s been like four hours since my contractions started getting stronger and closer together.”
“And you didn’t say anything?”
“I don’t think that’s the point right now. Let me go get Bradley and-,”
“He’s had a couple beers and you’re having contractions. It’s okay, I can take both of you, but I’ll go and get him.”
“Well, there’s another problem with that. The car seat is in the Bronco and he barely even lets me drive that thing. God, I could kill him right now. All of this is just so fucking stupid. Obviously none of us knew that I’d be in labor but - oh shit.”
You felt something pop before hearing a gush, and fluid was running down your legs and on to the floor. Both of you looked down at the puddle that you were standing in and Jake rushed over to you.
“Um, fuck, I don’t know how to help you. Sit down on, like, a towel or something, I don’t know. I’m gonna go get Bradley.”
Jake left once you nodded your head and waddled over to the linen closet to grab a dark towel to sit on. You were so worried about ruining the furniture that you sat on one of the throw pillows after putting the towel over it, just to make sure that you wouldn’t get anything on the couch. You texted a few family members while waiting for Bradley and Jake to come back inside. Bradley gave you a hug and squeezed your hand before telling Jake what to do. He was going to get the hospital bag while Jake helped you into the passenger seat of the Bronco, and Bradley would sit in the back with the carseat and hospital bag.
“This is the only time I’m letting you drive the Bronco. Be gentle. And she gets to pick the music,” Bradley said as he gestured to you and Jake. You laughed, but that was immediately followed by a groan from how much pain you were in. The hospital that you planned to have the baby at was fifteen minutes away, but it felt like it was taking an eternity to get there.
Both of them walked you into the hospital, with Jake giving your hand a tight squeeze as you were filling out the paperwork to get checked in. Once you got into the room, Jake was told to wait outside while the nurses gave you what you needed. Eventually, Jake’s options were to wait in the lobby or go home, but he had left his car at the home that you and Bradley shared, so he decided to wait in the lobby until the rest of the Dagger Squad showed up. Everyone came and went periodically as they waited to hear about if you had the baby or not. Bradley was sending updates to the groupchat since he didn’t want to leave you, even though you were starting to get the urge to punch him with how annoying he was being.
Things got to a point where Bradley decided to send everyone except for Maverick home. You weren’t really progressing and the nurses couldn’t tell when you were going to actually have the baby. Bradley eventually sent him home, too, saying that Mav would be the first to know when you had the baby. The decision was one that you were thankful for, as it took more than a day for you to have the baby.
You were able to leave the hospital a few days after having the baby. Everyone was still congratulating you and Bradley across social media platforms, but you didn’t really mind. The baby cooed in your arms as Bradley opened the front door to the house, deciding that he would park his Bronco in the garage at a different time.
There was a “welcome home” banner hanging when you walked in, and snacks were on the kitchen counter. Everyone slowly came out of their hiding spots as to not startle you or the baby, and your eyes lit up with glee when they all walked over to you to look at the baby. Everyone, even Hangman, thought that the baby was the cutest thing they had ever seen. He looked more like Bradley than you, which didn’t really surprise anyone that much because Bradley looked just like Goose.
“Jake, I can’t thank you enough for helping us the other day. You really didn’t have to but it means a lot.”
“He did it because he wanted you to name the baby after him!” Fanboy yelled from across the room. The baby started crying and everyone glared at him for ruining the moment.
“As much as we appreciate it, man, I’m never letting her name our baby after you,” Bradley told Jake. You laughed as Phoenix guided you to the kitchen for some snacks that everyone was sure you needed after being in the hospital for days.

so last week i posted this hangster fic idea that was taking over my mind: okay but has anyone written a hangster fic where the bird strike hits hangman’s plane instead of phoenix’s (and rooster proceeds to Lose His Fucking Shit)? because i kind of need to read that
the wonderful @sassypopstar and @blood-mocha-latte posted incredible fics inspired by the prompt. i was, in turn, inspired by them to take my own bait and try my hand at it, and this is the resulting fic.
Summary:
“Hangman, it’s on fire,” he screamed. “Don’t th—”
But it was too late.
“Throttling up.”
“NO!” Bradley screamed, seeing Jake’s right engine blow. His plane started falling, and Bradley couldn’t keep the words in anymore.
“JAKE! NO! JAKE!"
--
Bradley and Jake broke up in Lemoore, and a year later they’re assigned to the Dagger Squad mission. Bradley thinks he’s got his heart under control, thinks he can handle Jake looking at him like he’s a stranger, like they didn’t mean the world to each-other once. But then a bird strike hits Jake’s plane, and Bradley proceeds to Lose His Fucking Shit.
oh and tagging @hanni-simp @decadenttragedytaleand and @chavivaelisheva who wanted to be be notified!

ABHHGG FLUFFY
of course you can!!

Tom couldn’t help the tears that rolled down his face. It’s been years since he’s cried for his grandmother.
He can’t help it. He keeps thinking about how happy she would be for him. He tries to stop the tears before they all get home. They don’t need to see him like this.
The front door opens and he hears the three of them return. Shit shit shit shit.
Tom scrubs at his face. Chris’s steps and coming through the house. “Baby?”
Tom knows he needs to respond or else Chris will be worried but he chokes on the response. “Tommy?”
“Here.” It cracks as he says it. The steps quicken, the door to Jake’s room opens. “Oh Tommy are you okay?”
Chris goes onto his knees and grabs Tom’s hands from where they’re sitting in his lap. Tom knows he looks like a wreak.
“Fine. I’m fine really. Just missed Babcia suddenly. She would’ve loved Jake.”
Chris stands and slips into Tom’s lap. The rocker sways but holds them both easily. Chris leans forward and kisses his cheek. “Honey she’s watching him just like she’s watching you. She loves him. Trust me.”
Speak of the baby. Over a year old Jake comes wobbling in when he heard his tata and dada talking. “Tata!” Jake walks faster and catches himself on Tom’s leg. Chris leans down and scoops the baby up.
“See. He loves you. He knows she would’ve loved him. All he knows is love Tommy. And I’m so sorry she’s not here. But know that she would love everything you’ve done for yourself and for Jakey.”
The tears started rolling down Tom’s face again. Chris somehow always knows what to say. “Tata no!” Jake’s little hand smacks into Tom’s face. Chris snorts before he can stop himself, Jake’s lip wobbles and he continues to gently smack at Tom’s face.
“Tata sad?” Tom can only grin at their baby. “No honey. It’s okay. I’m okay.” Jake continues to gently smack Tom’s face until all the tears are gone. “Happy!” Tom laughs and kisses Jake’s head. Their little kid tucks his head under his chin. “Always happy when I’m with you baby.”
Ron coughs from the doorway. “You three okay?” Chris slips off of Tom’s lap and nods. “You stay with them for a while. I’m gonna make dinner.” Ron brushes a kiss across Chris’s head as he goes.
“You okay Tommy?” He shrugs. “Missed Babcia.” Ron inhales. They both loved that woman. She passed when they were 23. Always told them to love each other strong. To be safe and smart. Ron brushes a hand over Tom’s head. “She was an incredible woman. Figured us out pretty fast huh?”
Tom snorts. “Yeah. She knew I loved you.” From his chest a tiny “love you.” Peeps out, Ron kisses the back of Jake’s head. “Yes chickie we love you too.”
Ron runs his hand over Tom’s head again. “Wanna Go on the couch and look through the photos?” Tom nods and stands. Jake giggles at being in the air. “Paapa tata.” Ron smiles, “that’s us hon.”
“Hungry.” Tom laughs and kisses Jake’s cheek. “Okay, food for chickie then photos.” Jake claps like he understands when in reality he just knows what food for chickie means. Ron catches Tom in a hug before they leave the room. “She’s proud of you ever day for being who you are. Don’t forget that.”
Tom snaps his teeth and Ron’s arm because if he does anything else he might start crying. “Love you so much.” He gets a kiss pressed to his cheek. “Love you too.”
