your dark fantasy/fae au is so fucking cool and I’m going to be thinking about it forever now. I just wanted you to know. that’s all, have a wonderful day <33
Hard same, anon! Have some more headcanons.
-Willie has 100% crashed while skateboarding, walked home with an obviously broken arm, and gone about his day because he still had chores and you have to work through the pain that's just what you do, right?
-NO, and Ray spends a very panicked ride to the ER.
-At least Willie is delighted with his cast and the human tradition of your friends writing and drawing on it. Julie draws a little butterfly for him and he's just delighted.
-The boys all sleep in one room in a giant puppy pile. Ray offered them separate beds but they all looked so betrayed he just... made sure they had enough blankets and pillows instead.
-After the bird funeral, Willie is concerned because Ray's garden is not that big and there are a lot of people in this house and apparently death comes for everyone and he is relieved to learn humans have special gardens for human dead people called cemeteries.
The next time they drive past one on their way to Carlos' baseball game, Willie presses his nose to the car window and informs everyone: "There's dead people in there."
It is quiet in the car (Carlos makes sure to note they can put the 'x days since Willie said something weird' back to 0) before Julie is like: you're not wrong?
-Luke is trying desperately to figure out if in The Modern Era he still needs to ask Ray's permission to Court Julie. After doing a lot of research watching the telly-vision, he concludes he does not, he needs to get Flynn's approval because she is The Bestie.
-Flynn is like: to court Julie you must first complete these quests.
-Reggie would put a stop to it but honestly it's keeping Luke out of trouble when he has to write a song, and fetch Flynn seven sodas, and come catch and release the spider in her room (he brings Willie who politely asks the spider to stay on the other side of her window) and perform Feats Of Strength (help Flynn rearrange her furniture).
-Julie finds out and puts a stop to it of course but to be fair she really likes the song and was very flustered at sweaty Luke in his cut-off t-shirt so... she can't be too mad at Flynn.
(More mature and ridiculous headcanons behind the cut.)
-When the equinox approaches, Willie gets a little distressed. Because Ray hasn't done any preparations. Where are the wines and grapes and cured meats? The honey cakes? The pixie pears? Ray who have you invited? What about the music? What about the revelries, Ray? Are you going to get the couches deep cleaned after the orgies or do you have special soft blankets to cover them?
-Ray goes from mildly confused to very distressed, especially when Willie is like: is that not why you have so many couches???
-What follows is a very distressing day for Ray as he tries to figure out if the boys have sexual abuse trauma on top of the whole 'kidnapped by magical beings' and 'hunted for sport' and 'enslaved to perform for the fairy's amusement' trauma.
-They do not, but just to be sure he has a talk with them about consent and safe sex.
-Willie staring at Ray like: "What do you mean protection? Do humans attack each other during sex? Alex, you never told me this." Luke is trying to calm Ray down like: it's okay Alex and Willie can't get pregnant they don't need to pull out unless they want to. Reggie is coming to the frightening realisation that he is the normal one and has to be the mature one. He is also very, very sorry, Ray. There were just... so many orgies. Or maybe just a few long, long orgies. Time was weird. You get kind of desensitised to it all.
-Willie understanding that Consent is like the magic spell that makes sex okay and starts just asking Alex: Consent? And Alex goes 'okay!' and they happily skip off together.
(Julie: I am traumatised. Reggie: Yeah well blame your dad.)
-Not Reggie quietly pining as he sees Julie and Luke get closer and Willie and Alex carefree and in love and he's just over here... trying not to think of exactly what happened at those orgies and how suddenly he's the one left behind and alone.

SERIES MASTER
Part 4: You’ve got yourself a deal
---
Saturdays. Your favorite day of the week. You used to look forward to it because it was the one day a week you’d have to yourself but lately that’s been changing and your dad hasn’t been around much any of the other days in the week. Alone once again, you pull the blanket tighter under your chin, ready to for a few more hours of peace and quiet while you sleep-
Oh. Julie just texted you.
Girls day! You in?
You sigh, feeling the urge to sleep longer too powerful to resist, and yet a girls day with Julie and Flynn sounds perfect. Tossing the blanket away from your body, you send Julie another message saying you’ll be at her house in 30 minutes.
---
It’s been almost a month since you’ve moved to Los Angeles and you’ve been to Julie’s house quite a few times since you’ve first met so you didn’t bother knocking on the front door when you got there. Instead, you opted for heading right to the garage in the back and to your surprise, you could hear music from inside. You try knocking on the door, but after a minute of doing so and causing your knuckles to ache quite a bit, you sigh, chew your lip for a moment before slowly pushing the door open. You didn’t see Julie anywhere, but you do see three boys at three different instruments. It only took you a second more of watching before you realize that they were the boys from Julie’s hologram band.
The realization causes you to pause. Julie’s holograms were even more amazing up close. The way they looked at each other and took up the exact right amount of space, it was almost like they were in the room with you.
You lean against the door, listening happily to the sound pouring through the speakers before you accidentally slip, sending a few things falling off the shelf next to you.
The commotion causes the band to stop playing as they all look your direction. “Girl!” The bassist shouts, pointing directly at you.
You freeze, feeling three set of eyes on you. “Hi.” You wave meekly before clearing your throat, letting your eyes drift across the three boys. “Oh, um, sorry I didn’t mean to interrupt, I was just looking for-“
“Y/N!” Your head snaps behind you, relieved when you see Julie and Flynn
“Julie! Flynn!"
Julie's eyes go right past you when she finally steps into the room, realizing pretty quickly that all of the boys were still here. It's silent between the six of you as you wait for anyone to say... well, anything. Julie finally comes to your aid as she clears her throat and throws an arm around your shoulder to point you in the direction of her band. "Um, Y/N, you remember my band, right?"
You look at her, wondering what the hell she was getting at. "Uh, yeah. Yeah, I do." you say before leaning in close to her, hoping the guys can't hear you. "I thought they were holograms. Swedish holograms?"
Julie sucks in a breath and nods with a smile, obviously trying to think of something to say before she turns to Flynn behind you for help.
"They're just visiting!" Flynn blurts out and the moment the rest of the room understands what she had said, nods and hums of agreement went around everyone.
It was weird. You weren't sure you believed them, considering how odd everyone was acting in this very moment, but as you thought hard for any other excuse, nothing else seemed as feasible as the three of them visiting. When your shoulders relax, so does everyone elses in the room.
"Well, it's nice to finally meet you guys." You say to the boys, smiling at them and recieving two smiles back while the third boy, whose guitar slacked out of his hands, just stared at you in what felt like disbelief.
Julie points to the bassist who pointed at you earlier. "That's Reggie," then she moves to the blond drummer, "Alex," when she moves to the third boy, Julie pauses and narrows her eyes, seeming to catch onto his weird expression, "and that's Lu-"
Before she can finish her sentence, the boy is leaping over the table between you two with the biggest, and in your opinion, cutest smile you have ever seen. "Luke!" He shouts before he's finally in front of you, looking you directly in your eyes as he sticks his hand out. "I-I'm Luke."
You stare at him for only a few seconds before you slip your hand into his.
The last few minutes have taken Luke by surprise. He knew that Julie wanted to have a girls day today, which was why she 'banished' the boys to the garage. He has been waiting for the chance to finally meet you in face to face since you showed up to your first Julie and the Phantoms gig and Luke learned you were friends with Julie. Now, Luke was going through way to many emotions in this very second because you were here. You were right here in front of him and you were looking at him, not off to the side just enough to constantly remind him that you couldn't see him. And even better, he could finally touch you. You actually held his hand.
Luke knew that it didn't matter whatever happened after this because this moment, this moment was his and yours.
You only let go of Luke's hand when Julie clears her throat again, glaring at Luke, but he was too preoccupied in staring at you to notice.
"Right." Julie says, steering you away from the boys, "Well, we have plans. So, we should go?" She turns to Flynn as if it's a question and Flynn nods, saying 'we should go'.
"Nice to meet you, Y/N!" Alex calls, peaking out from behind Luke's head in your vision as you send a smile his way.
"Nice to meet you guys too!" You say before letting your eyes fall on a grinning Luke before you're led away by Julie. Luke watches you leave, seeing you outside of your house was weird, but he's never really seen you as happy as you were here, with your friends.
He's still staring out the door when he hears Alex and Reggie join his side.
"Whatcha staring at?" Alex's voice right next to his ear causes Luke's smile to fall quickly as he jumps high in the air.
He narrows his eyes at his friend. "Nothing." He grumbles.
Alex and Reggie shares two knowing looks but say nothing as Luke moves back to the rehearsal space, strumming a few different chords on his guitar, but no matter how hard he tries, he can't really focus on playing music when he knows what it feels like to finally really look into your eyes.
---
Julie, Flynn, and you end up at an ice cream shop on the beach. The three of you had sat there together long enough for your ice creams to be completely eaten, yet not long enough for the conversation to be gone.
"So Y/N, you've been here for a month now," Flynn begins raising her brows at you repeatedly as you thrum your fingers against the table, waiting for her to continue, "anyone tickle your fancy?"
You hold back a chuckle, not missing the weird look Julie is throwing her way. "Tickle my fancy?"
"Oh shut up," She rolls her eyes as Julie and you both laugh at her, "You know what I'm getting at!"
"No, Flynn," you manage to say between chuckles, "No one has tickled my fancy."
You can tell neither Julie or Flynn believe you as they share knowing looks, but you don't know what else to say. Instead, you change the conversation to something you've been wondering non-stop for the last month. "Do you guys believe in ghosts?"
It almost scares you how quiet Julie and Flynn get as they look quickly to each other and then to you before leaning in at the exact same time. "Why do you ask?" Julie says.
You shrug, looking down to the table in front of you. "It's just-" You pause, unsure what to say before shaking your head. "Nothing. No reason."
The three of you are quiet for the first time in over an hour before Flynn chooses to break the silence, turning your own back on you. "Do you believe in ghosts?"
You hesitate before letting out a quick huff and scrunching your face together momentarily. "If I answer that, you guys are going to think I'm crazy."
"Well, we already think you're nutso, so crazy is an upgrade, right?"
Julie smacks Flynn's arm for her comment and Flynn frowns, rubbing the spot and silently shrugging to Julie, as if to say 'what was I supposed to say'.
For a moment, you consider dropping the conversation completely, but the thought is out of your head the moment you open your mouth. "The day I moved in, I went down to dinner with my dad and I came back to my phone plugged in." You can tell your comment has the girls confused as you sigh. "I just threw it on my bed before I left."
"Well, that doesn't mean-"
"I asked." I rub the back of your neck as you interrupt Julie, thinking the girls don't believe you at all. If only you knew it was the opposite.
"You..." Flynn trails off for a moment before taking a deep breath, "You asked?"
Nodding nervously, you tap your fingers harder against the table, wishing you knew what your friends were thinking about you. “I kind of called out and asked if anyone was there, thinking I went, you know-“
“Crazy?” Julie adds with a smirk.
You meet her eyes with a sigh and whisper, “I believe I used the word insane.”
It was at that moment, you realize how close around the table you were to each other, as you if you telling the world's most special secret. Recognizing this, the three of you can't help but laugh together and lean back in your seats, relaxing a bit from the prior conversation.
Flynn looks back up to you and then to Julie next to her, then back to you. "Well?" She says to you and you furrow your brows, trying to figure out what she's asking. "Did you get an answer?"
You stare at her and Julie before a small smile breaks out on your face and you have to look away, choosing to look out the window to your right. "His name is Jerry." Having been looking away from the girls in front of you, you don't see them exchange looks of disbelief in the fact you might not actually be insane. You turn back to look at them the moment they turn to look at you, putting on their best fake smiles. “It’s not his real name, but I can’t see him or hear him and I just picked out random names for him until he liked one.”
You wait for them to say anything, but they remain silent, and so thinking they don't fully believe you yet, you go on. “I was having a hard day the other day. I failed two tests that morning and then fought with my dad when I got home." You suck in a breath and both Julie's and Flynn's smiles drop already having know about your troubles with your parents. "I left that night to go to another one of your shows and when I came back, there were sunflowers sitting in a vase that I keep on my desk."
"Sunflowers?" Julie asks and you can't help but smile to yourself.
"They're uh," you let out a breathy chuckle, "They're my favorite type of flower. There used to be this sunflower field where I used to live and I would spend all day just running through it." Besides your friends, who for the past month have has still had very little conversation with you, the sunflower field was something you've missed the most. "Jerry was the only person in LA that I've told about the field. Not even my dad really knows about that." You know your dad doesn't know your favorite flower, hell, he barely knows anything about you.
"Jerry got you flowers?" Julie can't help the smile on her face as you nod, knowing those very same flowers are still sitting on your desk.
"So, I guess you could say that Jerry tickles your fancy?" Your smile drops as you glare at Flynn, very unimpressed with her at the moment.
"Shut up." You grumble, but your smile finds a way to return, tugging your lips up despite you working hard to keep it hidden. "And stop saying that, it’s weird. Besides, Jerry doe not tickle my fancy. He's just my friend. My ghost best friend."
"Best friend?!" Julie exclaims, dropping her mouth open in fake offense as she slings an arm around Flynn who was wearing a matching expression. "What about us!"
You laugh at them, shaking your head. "I said ghost best friend! You guys are my living best friends."
Julie and Flynn high five before Flynn points at you. "And it better stay that way." She fake threatens and you roll your eyes, knowing it would definitely stay that way.
---
By the time girls day is over, you were too exhausted to head back home and Julie suggests you and Flynn stay the night. Knowing that your dad wouldn't really care if you spent the night at Julie's, you shoot him a text to let him know where you were.
It was half past 2 in the morning when you wake up, finding yourself way too thirsty to go back to sleep. Creeping as quietly as you could, you head out of Julie's room and into the kitchen to get a glass of water.
You were in the middle of pouring your glass when you hear a voice calling out hello from the door of the kitchen. The suddenness of the voice, of which you still had no idea who it belonged to, causes you to jump and the glass of water you were holding spills heavily on the counter in front of you.
"Shit!" You hiss, trying to keep more from spilling out. Before you can reach out for a towel, someone is standing next to you with one in their hand already soaking up the water. You look up, only to see the dark brown eyes you met briefly this afternoon. "Um, Thanks... Luke." you say, helping him clean up the water as best you can. You don't miss the way his eyes flash over to you or the way his lips upturn slightly.
"It's no problem." He tells you, shaking his head as his hair falls in front of his face. "It was my fault mostly. Should've given you more warning when I enter a room."
"Yeah, next time, I expect fan fare." you say and Luke chuckles, moving to lean against the counter next to you. You find yourself smiling at bit at his laughs as you finish cleaning up.
"So, couldn't sleep?" Luke asks and you shrug.
"Got thirsty so I came down for a drink." You hold up the glass. "Didn't expect to spill half of it though."
"Hey," Luke defends himself, "at least it was just water."
You tip your glass to agree with him before taking a sip. Luke watches you but when you finally put the glass down to see him again, he turns away. "What about you? Couldn't sleep?" Luke shakes his head. To be honest, sleep isn't really a thing ghosts need. Even when he could finally be seen and heard by other people and feel as alive as he feels lately, sleep has just never really become a need for him. "Is it the timezones?" You ask him, breaking him out of his thinking as he furrows his brows.
"Timezones?" He questions, having no clue what you're talking about.
You furrow your brows. "From Sweden to LA."
Luke's eyes widen. He completely forgot about the swedish hologram band lie. "Yeah!" He shouts a little louder than he meant to and the both of your eyes widen and look to the stairs to see if anyone is going to come down. When the coast is clear, you both relax. "Sorry, I just meant, uh... yeah, the timezones."
You nod, chuckling under your breath before jumping up to sit on the counter behind you, Luke does the same, sitting on the counter just across from you. "So..." you say, unsure of what to say exactly. "You're in Julie's band."
"Well, she actually joined our band." Luke corrected you and you raise your brow, telling him to explain. "My friends and I, we had a band called Sunset Curve and then Julie joined and we became 'Julie and the Phantoms'." You can tell by the smile on his face that the band meant a lot to him.
"How long have you been playing?"
He takes a big breath, letting it out slowly before answering. "Since I was kid. My parents bought me a guitar and since then, I knew music was what I wanted to do."
"It's nice your parents supported you." You smile at him but he doesn't return the gesture, only looking down as he plays with his hands. That's when you realize you've made a mistake. "I'm sorry." You whisper, kicking your foot out gently to nudge against his.
He shrugs, nudging your foot back. "Don't be. I wasn't going to let it stop me."
You hum. "Let me guess, secret band rehearsals and telling your parents it was a club at school?"
Luke laughs lightly at your joke. "Actually, I moved out- well, I ran away."
There was silence between you two as you simply looked at each other, knocking your feet together every few seconds.
"Do you ever regret it?" You didn't know how much you needed to know the answer to this question. It was a thought that came to you all too many times in the last few years, especially as your parents fighting and troubles seemed to escalate.
Luke doesn't look away from you, even as your gaze drops momentarily as you collect yourself. He doesn't need to think hard on this question, it's something he's thought about dead and alive. "Everyday." He tells you and for the first time since your little foot game started, your foot doesn't bump his.
You had an answer, and yet, you weren't sure if it was the answer you wanted or the answer you dreaded.
Luke takes a deep breath and lets it out with a hum. "Wow, did it get sad in here?" You chuckle and nod a bit, quickly wiping your face to cover the tears that were about to fall.
"Oh god, I should probably get back upstairs before Julie and Flynn wake up for water or the restroom and see I'm not there." You grumble, throwing a glance behind you, but before you could stop yourself, you smirk and look back to Luke. You shouldn't have been surprised to see him smirking as well. "Or..."
"You can stay down here and we can talk?" Luke knows what he would prefer. Talking to you like this, without the guise of Jerry where he can only talk through his chicken scratch, is much more preferred. Besides, just like earlier, you were looking at him and hitting your foot against his.
"Alright, you've got yourself a deal." Luke smiles happily. "I'll stay down here and talk with you, but you have to get me more water." You've barely got the sentence out of your lips before Luke jumps off the counter and takes your glass, already on his way to fill it up. "I guess that's a yes." You giggle and look at him, still seeing that smile on his face, despite facing away from you.
The flutter of butterflies in your stomach when Luke's fingers brush against yours when he gives you the water was not surprising.
---
"That's all I'm going to say about it!" Luke holds up his hands in defense. You cover your mouth with your hand, bumping your shoulder against his as you laugh.
"No!" you manage to say. "Please! You can't just say that and then tell me you're not going to say more!" You beg him but Luke has his hands folded over his chest and his smile points away from you as you put your hand on his arm. "Please? I need to hear more about how you thought you were going the book club advisors number only to get turned down." You can't help it if some of your words weren't quite understandable through your laughs. In your defense, Luke and you have been swapping funny stories for what seemed like hours now and as Luke's blush had rose to his cheeks before he told this latest story, you knew it was going to be a good one.
"I thought she was into me!"
"She said you reminded her of her son!"
"She wasn't old enough to have a son!"
"You said she was in her 40's!"
"Well, she looked like she was in her 20's!"
"Early 20s or late?" You raise a brow at him and Luke already knows he's not doing so well in these arguments.
Luke shakes his head, avoiding looking at you in case you both start laughing again. "Yeah, well, at least I didn't trip and fall in front of my crush in gym class."
"No, you just called the teacher 'mom' in front of yours." Luke turns to look at you, his smile wide as he prepares to say whats next on his mind, but he goes blank when he sees how close you were to him. Not that it was either of your faults, it was just natural for you both to have gotten closer together over the course of the night.
You stay in this position, once again just simply looking at each other, before you clear your throat and look away, making Luke wish more than anything you'd look back at him. "I should uh, I should really get back upstairs. Julie and Flynn should be awake soon." You glance out the kitchen window, seeing the sun make its way over the horizon before you look back at Luke. He hadn't moved from his last position, but you weren't sure what to do. So, you jump off the counter, taking his hand gently and giving it a little squeeze as he finally moves.
"I liked talking to you." He says as your hand slips out of his, just barely before he's grabbing it again.
"I liked talking to you too." You tell him. The two of you give each other one last smile before you let go of his hand and head for the stairs.
Luke watches you every step of the way until you disappear.
---
As your back hits your own bed later that day, you cover your face with a pillow and let out the loudest groan you can muster. Julie and Flynn didn't suspect you having been gone for most of the night, or if they did, then they didn't say anything which you doubted from the two of them. Now, not only were you exhausted from having being up all night, you couldn't get a certain someone's laugh out of your head, or the way his eyes crinkle when he smiles, or how when you're talking you know he's really listening to you. Honestly, you weren't sure if you were exhausted from yesterday and being up all night, or it was from trying to figure out what all these feeling towards Luke meant exactly. It wasn't like you could do anything about them. He's from Sweden and he'll have to go back there eventually since Flynn said they were just visiting. And you don't really do long distance. Long distance sounds… lonely. And you were already lonely enough.
You stay in that position, with your pillow pressing against your face for a few more minutes. When you finally pull it off, the first thing you see is your bedroom light flickering between on and off.
When it stops, you sigh heavily. “Jerry?” You call out, looking towards the light switch and the light turns back off then back on. “I think I messed up.” The light changes slower as you lay back again the headboard of your bed, staring off into space. “I think… I think I have a crush.”
Luke’s heart stops.

someone I am made for / queerplatonic Juke
someone I am made for
the thing is, julie has never ever ever felt like this before, for anyone.
and like. yeah. obviously. she's never met anyone like luke before, and not just because he's a ghost. even flynn--flynn is her best friend, her soul mate, and she knows her inside & out, but that's not--that's not how julie feels about luke.
luke is like a soulmate. kind of. it's like he hears the music her very soul makes, if that makes sense? it's like something musical pulled him through space and time and now he's here with julie and her heart is just...so glad about it. she loves him, so much, with every beat of her heart, but it's not--hm.
It's not the way she loves flynn, who is her best friend and always will be.
it's not the way she liked nick, all fluttery smiles and flutters of disappointment.
it's not the way she loves alex, who is like a big brother she never had, who sometimes can just *look* at her and she dissolves into laughter.
no--luke is something different.
he holds her hand (they can do that now!) and julie hears a melody. it's not a love song, though--well, not in the way the songs reggie writes are. (he still won't say who those songs are about.)
it's more a song about coming home, about being completed; about keys in locks and finding a perfect harmony, and the funny thing is it's--it's not a romance. that's not who she and luke are. she thought maybe once, but now that they've come out on the other side? no, it's not a romance but it's something else entirely.
they're songs written just for each other's range.

Can I get 500 words for the wip that’s giving you the most trouble. Please and thank you.
thank goodness i put that 1k limit up... (thank you) this is unedited. unproofread. but written. near future of kinder devil. i hope. i now have a bunch of half scenes that i need to actually put together into a chapter...
Julie runs into the studio, Flynn hot on her tail.
“Guys! GUYS!” she calls breathlessly when they don’t immediately greet her.
“Hey Jules! Where’s the fire?” Reggie asks, looking up from where he’d been plucking on his bass.
She desperately waves at them, wordlessly encouraging them to gather by her.
It doesn’t take long for the trio to take the hint. Luke stands in front of her, stooping down to look her in the eyes, mild concern taking over his face. “What’s going on, boss?”
Julie takes a deep breath to recenter herself before explaining. “You remember that lady at Eats and Beats? Who wanted to talk to us before I got caught?”
The guys nod.
“Okay, well. She just called.”
“What?!” Luke exclaims before unleashing a litany of excited questions Julie’s way.
“Luke,” Alex says gently, putting his hand on Luke’s shoulder.
Julie watches in amusement as Luke continues his spiral, completely unaware of Alex’s presence.
“Luke!” Alex tries again, much louder this time and with a shake of Luke’s shoulders.
Luke slowly comes back down from his excited rambling and stares at Julie. “What did she want?” he asks, much more coolly than he’d been capable of for the last several minutes.
Julie laughs. “She wanted to talk about representing us. She obviously loved our ‘gimmick’ but also our sound. She’d been hoping to get in touch with us after the Eats and Beats fiasco but, well, it’s not as easy as looking someone up in the phonebook any more.”
“Well, she could have messaged any of the band pages,” Flynn counters. “Social media exists for a reason.”
Julie directs a soft glare her friend’s way. “Yeah, well. That’s obviously not how Andi does things,” she turns her attention back to the guys who are watching her expectantly, “anyway. She came across some stuff about our performance at the Orpheum and then our Youtube channel, did some digging, found the landline info that thank goodness Dad keeps installed for some reason…” She trails off, waving her hand around, “None of that matters. Destiny Management wants us. Andi wants us. But we need an adult because we’re… I’m still a teenager. So I need to talk to Papi.”
“Well what are you waiting for?! Let’s go talk to Ray!” Luke cries, grabbing Julie’s hand and pulling her toward the door.
“Luke!” Julie cries, pulling her hand out of his grasp.
He stops short and turns to look at her, a betrayed expression on his face.
“He doesn’t know about you, remember? How can I ask him to let us do this if he doesn’t have all the information?”
“Can’t we just… pretend that it’s just you?” Reggie asks.
Julei stares at him.
“A band of four people, three of whom presumably exist somewhere else in the world, need all four members to be involved in any dealings, Reg.” Alex explains.
“Right. I knew that.”
“How do we navigate this kind of thing if three of us barely even count as people?” Alex wonders.
Julie shrugs, “I guess that’s what we have to figure out.”
Flynn pokes at Julie’s shoulder, silently asking for Julie to fill her in on the conversation that she’d been left out of. Julie obliges, ending by posing the same question Flynn’s way.
“Well, how attached are you to doing things the ‘traditional’ way?” Flynn asks.
Just as Luke’s about to answer, Flynn puts her hand up. “Arrange yourselves so I can hear you please. We’re not playing telephone for this.”

Thank you for your prompt, I'm sorry for taking so long, my week was pretty busy. Here is my take on the prompt, I hope you enjoy reading it:
A few months after their fateful Orpheum performance Julie and the Phantoms had scheduled their first actual paid gig. They were the main event, not opening for another band and it wasn't and open mic. They had actually been hired, not as a last minute desperate replacement, but deliberately. There were flyers and posters. It had been announced on the club's website and social media and of course Flynn had posted about it on their own social media multiple times as well. Not that Alex really understood all of that, he mostly didn't care and just nodded along enthusiastically whenever Flynn and Julie got excited about how many likes they got or who shared their posts in a story or something.
It didn't matter, this was their first real gig as Julie and the Phantoms, it was starting in ten minutes and Alex was a mess. There hadn't been time for stage fright before their Orpheum performance with all the zapping and the being captured by Caleb and it felt like he was getting double the dose this time. Also, this time it wasn’t live or death, so to speak. Oddly, that made him even more nervous.
Alex was pacing up and down the alley behind the club, unable to go back inside and wait in the green room with Julie, Luke and Reggie. He checked his watch anxiously, he would have to go in soon, if he wanted to go on stage with the others and not be pulled in by Julie's… whatever it was that made them appear when she sang.
Maybe one mare round of pacing would calm him down. Or practicing the trick where he twirled his drumsticks in the air and caught them just in time for his solo. — Of course he dropped them and just as he was bending down to pick them up, he heard the distinct woosh of a ghost appearing.
"Sorry, I'll be right in, give me just another min…" he mumbled, expecting it to be Luke or Reggie, but when he looked up, it was Willie. "Oh, it's you. I didn't know you would come."
Willie grinned at him in the calming way he did. "Of course I came. You invited me, didn't you. And I haven't gotten the chance to hear you play yet."
Alex nervously pushed his hair back behind his ear. "Thank you, but maybe don't expect too much from me this time. I haven't been this nervous before a gig since the early 90s. Do you think it's possible of a ghost to get injured by their should bounded object? Because with my luck I'll manage to poke myself in the eye with a drumstick when attempting to throw them."
He was rambling, he knew that, but at least he wasn’t pacing.
Willie softly put his hand on his shoulder.
“You’ll be great. You guys are amazing and bursting with talent.”
“You haven’t heard us play yet.”
“You rocked the Orpheum, obviously your guys are good. And Caleb is a terrible person, but he knows his music and would never let anyone play at his club who wasn’t good.”
Alex couldn’t help but laugh at that.
“Interesting point you make there.”
He took a deep breath and focused on Willie’s hand on his shoulder.
“Ok, I think I’m ready to go in. Thanks Willie.”
Willie smiled widely. “Anytime Hotdog. And just in case…,” he leaned forward to press a kiss to Alex lips.
“For luck,” he explained before poofing out and leaving Alex speechless and thoroughly distracted from his stage fright.
You can find it on AO3.

things you said through someone else + Author's choice
Reggie had been this close to telling someone that the library is haunted when he finally realized that the eyes that have been following him belong to a cute girl.
A cute girl who is probably not a ghost, given that she sometimes comes in with friends who can definitely also see her.
Unless they're all ghosts—Reggie hasn't entirely ruled it out.
He gets bored on slow days, okay?
And he can't help but wonder why she's shy. Obviously a ghost girl would be shy, but maybe she just has a lisp or something and she's used to people being assholes.
He'd love to reassure her that he's not an asshole, but he doesn't want to be creepy, either, and he does have a job to do, so.
Reggie shelves and scans and wonders.
His ghost theory gets dashed on one of his slow days, when the friend with the braids and eye-popping outfits marches up to him with an incredibly random stack of books.
She pushes them across the counter, cocks her hip, and says, "My friend thinks you're cute. And she loved your band."
Reggie, who'd started scanning the books on autopilot, stops to beam at her.
"You've heard of Sunset Curve?"
She smirks. "Tell your friends, right?"
He nods, a little dumbstruck. It'd never occurred to him that maybe the cute girl had recognized him—all of their gigs have been pretty low key, so far.
"Well," the friend continues, "she did, though I'm not surprised you didn't see her. She hid, I bet. But anyway, I'm Flynn."
"Reggie!" he blurts, a little too loudly. He clears his throat, flushing. "I'm Reggie, hi."
"So Julie said. Listen."
Flynn glances around, then puts her hands on the counter and leans forward.
"She's trying to let it go because she's determined to drown in her studies, but she's interested in you. So if you're into her? You should make the first move."
Reggie hums. His gaze flickers over Flynn's shoulder, only to meet another set of deep brown eyes, which widen before being obscured by a curtain of dark curls.
He may not know her, but her eyes are starting to become familiar. They're curious, and warm, and he finds himself smiling after them.
He gives himself a mental shake, flushing harder, and goes back to scanning.
"Why are you telling me this? I need your ID if you actually want these, by the way."
She slides it across the counter, still hunkered in close, and lowers her voice.
"Because I'm a good judge of character. And from what I've seen and heard? Something tells me that spending time with you would be good for her. So just. Think about it, okay?"
"Yeah, um, okay." Reggie clears his throat again. "Here's Titus Andronicus, and your books about growing tomatoes and—"
"Awesome, thanks."
With her books tucked safely in the crook of her arm, she points at him.
"Think about it! She's great."
He nods, and she finally flounces away.
Of course, once he plucks up the courage to approach Julie a few weeks later, she just glares from behind her glasses.
"Flynn put you up to this, didn't she?"
Reggie grabs the book she's been reaching for, suppressing a smile as she snatches it and holds it tight to her chest.
"Not really? She basically just encouraged me to do what I already wanted to do. I just didn't want to seem—weird and creepy? I mean, you come here to study, and I'd never want you to feel like you had to avoid the library because of me."
She sighs, and some of the tension bleeds out of her shoulders. A blush darkens the tops of her cheekbones and her ears.
"If anyone's the weird one, it's me. I had no idea that your band would be playing at that shop, but I feel like such a stalker…"
"Hey, no. Small world, you know? You totally could've brought it up and I would've just been, like, over the moon that this cute girl was talking to me about our music."
Julie ducks her head. "Yeah, well. Music…it's been hard for me, lately. But you guys are seriously talented."
He starts to thank her, but she cuts him off with a little squeak. Her head snaps up.
"You think I'm cute?"
"Super cute," Reggie says easily, smiling as she bites her lip. "I mean, I also thought you were a ghost for a bit, so maybe we're both just weird."
That gets a genuine little giggle out of her.
"Hm. Just a couple of cute weirdos."
He shrugs. "We could be. You know, if you ever wanna—go out? We could—get coffee, or something. How's that sound?"
And when she smiles, she's not just cute—
She's absolutely gorgeous.
"Actually…that sounds great."

Writing ask game: ✒️ crime(s)
(Also hi! :D)
(Hi! ^_^ This took some thinking, and ended up writing a bit for Even Though It Hurts. . .just not for the immediate next chapter XD It's also a lot longer than three sentences because why not)
“‘Ey, you’re a craftsman, right?” One of the more boisterous of the men from the group said as he made himself comfortable at the table where Flynn was attempting to fine-tune the protective ward they’d made Julie.
Bobby shifted his weight like he was about to go and tell the guy off but was stopped by Flynn’s quick and very sharp glare his way. Quickly shifting their attention to their work, “Depends on what you want made.”
“Can you make anything for easy tracking?” The man said clearly not picking up on Flynn’s disinterested attitude. Slowly, despite their earlier protesting glare, Willie and the rest of the guys made their way to the table closest to Flynn.
“What are you tracking?”
“Not sure I can tell you that, luv.” Some of the man’s joy died in his throat as he finished his statement, and Willie had to guess Flynn had shot him one of their more piercing glares. It almost made him wish he’d sat so his back wasn’t to them, but they’d be way too suspicious if they were all staring down the man.
“Well then I most definitely can’t help you. Can’t build a tracker if I don’t know what it is you’re tracking.”
There was a beat of silence before, “A’right, I’ll show you but don’t expect to be getting any cut of the reward.”
“So long as you pair me fairly up front.”
There was a low sound that Willie would have sworn was a growl, but Bobby looked the same amount of tense as before so it must not have been that worrying. A chair scraped from behind Willie and Luke and Reggie leaned further across the table, way too obviously trying to see something better. Though that didn’t worry him nearly as much as Flynn’s lengthier silence and Bobby adjusting like he was ready to pounce.
Finally, Flynn spoke. “That crime, does that say?”
The man laughed, a much darker sounding laugh that made the skin on the back of Willie’s neck crawl. “I know, she doesn’t look the type does she?”
“Inclinations are often like that.” Flynn’s voice had gone oddly flat and quiet and Willie really wanted to look at whatever Flynn was at the moment. “But, necromancy?”
Willie exchanged wide eyed stares with everyone at the table except Bobby, who definitely was seconds away from stepping in. Whether because Flynn discomfort had clearly grown or to stave off his own curiosity Willie wasn’t certain.

"You worked so hard and it shows." for Ray and any of his many children plz and thank?
Ray hummed as he searched through the fridge for the leftover pasta he was sure was there this morning when he looked. But even after almost tearing the place apart he still couldn’t find it.
He sighed, resigned to either cooking or ordering in. Given the music drifting in from the studio, he figured pizza might be a good idea. He didn’t mind feeding the cavalcade of teens that seemed to follow his daughter around like ducks, but yeesh sometimes it was hard on his grocery budget.
He drifted out to the garage, lingering at the door for a moment, smiling despite himself. It was good that there was music in the house again. He had missed it when Rose passed, and even more when Julie’s seemed to die right along side her mother.
That was the reason he didn’t mind the boys that were currently eating him out of house and home. They brought Julie back to herself, so what did a few extra groceries matter? Plus this way he knew they were eating healthy and not scrounging for food or eating street dogs again.
“Hey guys,” he said with a knock once he heard a break in the music. “I’m thinking pizza tonight. What dietary restrictions am I working with this week?”
“I’m good with pork,” Reggie called. He usually only kept kosher when his MeeMaw was visiting or around certain high holy days, but Ray could barely keep track of those, so he trusted Reggie to let him know.
“I’m still not doing meat but cheese is cool,” Willie replied and Carrie nodded along. They were both vegetarians, and occasionally Willie went vegan, so it was always good to ask.
“Luke is going to eat vegetables and like it,” Julie said, glaring at her boyfriend as if daring him to pipe up.
“No mushrooms?” he pleaded.
“Fine, but only because Flynn is allergic,” Julie stated.
“Thanks Jules!” Flynn called from the loft where she was obviously on the phone, probably trying to get the band another gig.
Alex just gave a thumbs up to pizza, he was the easiest to please, and Ray knew what Julie liked by now, so he went off to order. Marvelling later at how fast so much pizza could go missing, shaking his head at the teenagers.
But he didn't notice how Julie picked the bill up from the floor where it had fallen. Missed the hushed band meeting, only telling them to get their homework done while we went to watch the game with Carlos.
The next night the gang was over, Julie went to her father. "We'll take care of dinner tonight."
"You don't have to do that mija," Ray replied. "I don't mind cooking for you and your friends, or getting you guys food if you want."
"Nope, it's our turn," Julie insisted. "You just sit back and relax, we've got it."
Ray threw up his hands and told her to watch the guys with the oven-and the knives, and did as she asked, sitting back with a book he had been neglecting. Even if he found his mind just a little distracted by the noises and occasional singing from the kitchen.
"Suppertime!" Julie bellowed up the stairs, just so Carlos would hear it over his games. Smiling at Ray as he eased himself up from the couch, and hoped that there was some Pepto in the house, just in case.
The table was set, with spaces for everyone-even Rose's reserved spot, all set and ready, like she would waltz into the room and ask why they weren't eating yet. Ray sniffled at that, but didn't stop smiling; it didn't hurt anymore, not like it used to.
Then Ray took notice of the food sprawled all over the counter. Each of the kids had contributed a dish, so it was a bit of a mish-mash, but it all looked delicious.
"Wow hijos, you worked so hard and it shows."
"Thanks Ray!" Reggie beamed, always appreciative of a bit of fatherly attention. "Dig in!"
So he did, getting a bit of everything, each dish being introduced by the kids. Luke rubbed the back of his head, showing Ray the tray of brownies he had made. "I'm not a great chef but I'm a decent baker, and my mom taught me the recipe."
"Well we did need a dessert," Ray replied, thanking him. And resolving to get teh recipe from Emily, because those were deadly brownies.
Ray was full by the end, and patted his stomach, once again telling the kids how grateful he was. "But what brought this on?"
"I know it can't be easy-or cheap feeding us all," Julie replied. "So i asked everyone to help out to make food for you for once. We bought all the supplies ourselves, and we'll even do the dishes."
"You're our surrogate dad, it's the least we can do," Reggie said, blushing a little.
"Thank you all, so much. But you're all kids, you don't need to waste your money or time doing this for me," Ray argued. "I really don't mind feeding you all."
"We have more than enough money from gigs and merch sales," Luke pointed out. "Besides, it was fun."
"We can't do it every time, but maybe a couple times a month, we could do this for you," Alex offered. "It's only fair."
"Well I'm not going to say no. Especially to you guys doing the dishes," Ray said with a laugh. "Just make sure to do your homework before going home."
"Sure thing Ray!" Willie said, giving him a thumbs up.
Ray grinned, watching the kids-his kids really, work together to clean it all up, and didn't even leave the kitchen when they started to sing. Yeah, he could get used to this.
But he was definitely sneaking another brownie before bed.

A while back I threatened to post my outline of a hypothetical season two of JATP. This is that outline (seasons 3-5 will be longer coming but they're also gonna happen because I said so). I'm using what I know Kenny said about how the show would have gone, which means I'm not letting myself do ships other than Juke and Willex since those are the only ones we know would have been canon in the rest of the show, and I'm also trying to achieve the ending Kenny planned (even though I have. No idea if I'd make the same calls? Anyway)
So this season in my head would have three major Subjects: developing the backstory of Trevor/Bobby and beginning overt Carrie development via her interactions with him, an Alex family arc (letting us develop not only Willex but also his relationship with Julie, as well as looking into his past with the guys), and of course the Nick possession plotline (sorry Nick you're last but most pressing I swear). Externally, the framework for this is a school show where Julie and Nick have to work together (think the dance thing but as a season long arc whoops. We have to get them in the same room often. For dramatic irony)
Episode Thoughts below
Episode 1:
As a teaser we would get a flashback to Julie and Carlos talking about the ghosts, helping recap the previous season while establishing what Carlos knows and how he feels about it.
The main plot of this episode would be Nick/Caleb trying to get closer to Julie and Luke pouting, for which Julie calls him out since it's just Nick trying to be friends as far as she knows.
Because the guys are able to touch Julie and have been revealed to Carlos, Luke is like "what if we revealed ourselves to other ppl, like our parents" and Alex talks him out of it - at the time it all seems very face value but this is obviously foreshadowing his feelings on the family stuff
Bobby/Trevor is panicking and trying everything to learn more about the band, including attending a JATP show
The featured song for this would be the show Trevor attends, which would either tie into Luke's jealousy over Nick or poke at Trevor's issues by referencing the guys' pasts. Possibly if it's cleverly written we can get both, and Luke apologises to Julie about the Nick thing afterwards while Trevor falls into a guilt spiral
Episode 2
Teaser: Trevor shows up to the Molina house while Julie is out to talk to Ray, looking super frazzled (directly following guilt spiral above)
The main plot would be Alex and Luke having another issue while talking about their families, resulting in Alex going to find Willie but being unable to talk to him and eventually ending up at Julie's house as Luke and Reggie look for him; he opens up to Julie about his relationship with his parents and why Luke going from "screw family!" To "man I love my parents" is so hurtful in particular
Carlos and Flynn work together trying to divert Trevor and Ray's questions about the band. This is the comedic relief but can also be used to plant some seeds of a Flynn insecurity arc
Carrie decides to admit she liked Julie's show to Nick, because in her mind that'll put them "on" again, only to find that he's reacting strangely to her in a way that's not normal annoyed Nick
Featured songs include a Carrie rehearsal where we see her distracted by how badly her conversation with Nick went and a Hollywood Ghost Club show that Alex sees when he goes looking for Willie, which ends up making him more upset when he sees Willie dancing in it
Episode 3
After Alex saw the HGC they're like clearly we need to get Willie out of there so both the teaser and the main plot are this; Willie is under Caleb's control and there are a series of near-misses with Caleb!Nick just out of sight
Carlos is upset about being left out and complains to Flynn, who is also deeply upset but tries to distract him
Trevor tries to ask Carrie about Julie's band but she is only interested in complaining about how weird Nick has been
Featured songs include a rap by Flynn designed to distract Carlos and make him laugh, which gets cut off partway through, and a Willex duet that's also kind of a battle of the bands between jatp and the hgc
Episode 4
Willie knows Caleb is coming back and the freeing wasn't successful so he begs them to go as the teaser
Julie can't give Alex Willie so she decides she wants to give him closure with his family - while Luke was ok with this last season Alex is not and they finally have a conversation about how they all have overstepped with that stuff, keeping Julie from actually making contact
Carrie realises her dad is severely messed up over jatp and decides she has to investigate this (because if she is a Good Person then she can make people like her!) and attempts to ingratiate herself again with Julie and Flynn (yes this goes terribly)
Caleb!Nick and Julie continue to hang out, which is mostly just ominous and also showcases Luke's development since episode one bc he's annoyed but doing much better
Featured song here is a Caleb!Nick and Julie duet they're thinking about doing for the school show
Episode 5
Willie finds out that Caleb is possessing Nick in the teaser
Julie enlists the others to do something nice for Alex, and they write a song with an Alex feature while struggling to dance around the whole "your boyfriend is being held captive by an evil jazz ghost" thing
Flynn confronts Carrie about her sudden niceness, leading Carrie to snap back and pick at Flynn's insecurities - Carrie walks away knowing she's failed at her original plan but also Flynn walks away deeply upset
Carlos becomes convinced, between Trevor's weirdness and Carrie's, that the Wilsons are part of some grand ghost conspiracy, and attempts to investigate accordingly, ending up sneaking into the Wilson house
The featured song for this episode is the Alex song they write
Episode 6
In the teaser, Alex's family sees JATP on Youtube
The main plot here is Julie and Alex navigating the fuckery that the Mercer family brings, partly them being "how dare you use his image!!!" on a legal level and partly them saying shit Alex Knows isn't true about who Alex was to them
Willie is trying to escape the HGC to warn the others about Caleb!Nick
Trevor finds Carlos who decides to confront him and realises as he's explaining his elaborate conspiracy theory that Trevor probably stole "my name is Luke" from Luke
Featured songs are a Trevor song he plays while explaining himself to Carlos and a song that JATP plays when they realise they can't get rid of the Mercers or call them out any other way
Episode 7
Willie appears post-"yes this is actually Alex" song and warns them about Nick/Caleb before getting yanked away
Alex gets to properly have it out with the family members who are present (some family members reconcile and some remain assholes that Alex gets to call out at the end) and ends up being like "all I care about is Willie, Im dead so we don't need to matter to each other" or something I don't know how I'd have him say it yet or who gets that speech (his dad? Probably?)
Julie and the guys try to figure out what to do, struggling to act normal around Caleb!Nick as they try to come up with a plan to help Willie; this takes them to the night of the school show
Carrie and Carlos both want to ask Julie questions about what's up with Trevor and get brushed off bc of the stress of everything else; Flynn runs interference but is visibly upset at being left out of the planning again
The only song in this is one from the school show rehearsal, maybe a Dirty Candi number or a Flynn song so we can keep the JATP with Nick song for the finale
Episode 8
In the teaser, Caleb knows Julie knows who he is and threatens her to stay away from his club, including Willie
Julie apologises to Carlos for brushing him off and then scolds him for all the stuff with Trevor, who she avoids like the plague; she thanks Flynn for everything she's done lately
The few Mercers who reconciled with Alex come to the show
Using the power of love, friendship, and aggressively singing, Julie and the guys push Caleb out of Nick (everyone thinks they upped their hologram light show game when the purple smoke appears) - Nick is bewildered but deeply grateful and gets some non-Caleb singing in at the finale of the song

Obviously here to formally request more cyborg AU once you're up for it >_>
Awww you're so sweet, thank you for enabling me! (Original post is here for anyone who is interested!) Basically, this is an au where cyborg tech has been introduced as a way to stop so many people from dying all the time, but people aren't always really given a choice in whether they get cybernetic implants when they're critically ill or injured.
So Ray and Julie and Carlos move to Small Town SoCal(cause I can't name things), about 3 hours south east of LA, following Rose's death. This is both as a way to have space to grieve and to get away from the super smoggy air of the big city, which contributed to Rose's illness in the first place.
Tia Victoria doesn't move with them, both because of her job and because she and Rose kind of had a fight before she passed over whether she should try the cyborg treatment that had been offered, even though it was super risky. She still calls the kids all the time though.
Julie starts to get settled in her new high school, which is pretty small. Lots of not locals though, it's not an "everybody has known everybody since birth" kind of thing.
Julie ends up reporting everything to her best friend, Flynn, who moved out of the city with her family about a year before Julie did. She lives around an hour away from Julie now. But as Julie gets to know folks at school, she realizes some of them are a bit... weird.
First off there's Carrie, who is clearly rich, but avoids talking about her family. There's definitely a parent or someone else who lives in her big, fancy house, but no one ever sees them.
Spoiler alert, it's Trevor, who is both scared of the outside world after getting pretty sick for a bit, and now has a partially cyborg windpipe. But Carrie is kind of a jerk and it's not till a bit later on that she and Julie start becoming closer cause... grief bonding.
Then you have Alex, who keeps his hood up 24/7 at school, regardless of how many times he gets in trouble for it. Most of the teachers give up and leave him alone after the first week or two, since he never takes it off and he's one of the best students in his classes. He also never eats school food, even when he forgets his own lunch.
Then there's Alex's partner, Willie, who skates basically everywhere but seems to struggle with walking sometimes. He also never puts his hair up, which always strikes Julie as odd, since she's constantly batting her own curls away from her face during school. Willie and Alex always leave school and arrive together, and neither ever mentions family in a present tense.
Next up is Reggie, a math wiz who never seems to stop smiling. He's always acting super upbeat, and ends up being the first one of the group that Julie becomes friends with, cause he starts helping her with math and she helps him with Spanish. He has a hard time with some of the sounds, and sometimes it seems like his jaw just... isn't under his own control. He'll talk sometimes about his parents, who both work full time in other towns and so aren't around much.
Finally, there's Luke, who mostly keeps to himself, except for the guys, and is always talking to himself. He also doesn't eat school food, same as Alex. But he always has nice, homemade lunches from his mom. He kinda confuses Julie, cause he's sullen and moody at school, but he lights up and becomes a totally different person whenever she sees him out with the guys.
More specifics about their injuries and tech stuff under the cut, cause it gets a bit more graphic. TW for medical malpractice stuff, some referenced past homophobia, and some transphobia. The actual anatomical stuff isn't in any real detail cause I don't know how that works mostly, but be safe! It's kinda heavy and messed up.
So as for what is actually going on here with the guys...
Alex and Luke both have super sensitive digestive tracts cause of the only semi functional artificial tissue in their organs following the street dogs thing.
None of the four boys actually consented to their cyborg surgeries. Luke's parents did technically, but he was already in the OR by the time that paperwork got signed. None of the doctors expected any of them to survive, so who cared about consent.
When they all actually pulled through, the government was like, "Oh frick we gotta sweep this under the rug, but also keep them where we can monitor them for science," so they all got somewhat forcibly moved up to Small Town SoCal. All of the parents were offered a fair amount of money to move them up there. Luke and Reggie's parents took it and moved. Willie and Alex's decided they wanted nothing to do with their kids who "weren't really people anymore." So Luke and Reggie live with their parents, while Willie and Alex essentially live in a medical facility just outside of town. There's a few other kids who live there too, since their families wouldn't move with them and they couldn't live on their own. Alex and Willie have kind of adopted Isa, Damian, Aidan, and Dizzy, filling in this older sibling roll for them that no one else will.
Alex's main issue outside of his weak digestive system is that they also tried to 'fix' his anxiety disorder while he was under. This left him with a small, metal plate on the back of his head that his hair won't grow back around, some pretty severe trauma and panic attack disorders, and this weird voice in his head that starts trying to calm him down when he's panicking. It doesn't help. It's basically like if they took one of those meditation apps and tied it to his blood pressure levels so it starts playing in his head whenever he freaks out.
Willie has two prosthetic legs, along with a fair amount of metal/circuitry in his hips and back. While they're a lot better than old prosthetic technology, the attempt to give them nerve endings mostly just means Willie is in a lot of pain all the time. Skating is easier than walking, but they can't really skate inside. Alex has also been known to just straight up carry them sometimes when it gets bad. Willie also has this old incision scar on the back of his neck. Alex is the only one he's actually told what it is. The doctors essentially tried to 'fix' his being trans by messing with part of his brain. It didn't work, obviously, but it did mess with his short term memory.
Reggie avoided super severe organ damage, but the acid in the hotdogs did a lot of damage to his facial muscles. Basically, in order to fix it, he lost a lot of mobility in his face and jaw, so he struggles to not smile at least a bit. It's not creepy, just kind of sad. Like a lot of times he's smiling but it doesn't reach his eyes kind of thing. He also basically lost his sense of smell. He also ended up cracking a couple of ribs from a combination of the hotdog accident and previous injuries, so he has a few metal ribs.
Luke has the same weak digestive system as Alex, though his is easier to manage with a mom who actually cares about him. He packs extra food to share with Alex a lot. But he also got his senses messed up, mainly his hearing. He's hard of hearing, can maybe hear about 25% of what he could before. And it gets confusing, because in trying to limit the hearing loss, the doctors messed up the part of his brain that separates between external sounds and his internal voice. So he can't always tell what is coming from outside and what is coming from inside. So he responds to things that get said around him... but no one actually said it. Hence the appearance of 'talking to himself'.
ANYWAYS NOW THAT THE HEAVY STUFF IS DONE, WE CAN HAVE SOFT BONDING!
Julie befriends Reggie first cause they help each other out in school. He's hesitant to take it outside of school cause the lab monitors them all pretty closely and he doesn't want Julie getting freaked out or mixed up in anything. Doesn't help that she's still in the early stages of grief and will flip between anger and depression at any moment.
But slowly she gets to know the other guys too and finds out about the cyborg stuff. It's quite the shock, but she adjusts faster than they expect. Maybe because she's already had her life turned upside down. She starts hanging out at Luke's after school sometimes with the rest of them. And once they start coming over to the Molinas', it's all over.
The boys all get basically adopted by Ray, and the found family is solidified. Alex and Willie start bringing over the younger kids sometimes too when they can get permission. Carlos and Aidan hit it off and start hanging out at school too.
Luke still writes a ton of lyrics, but melodies have been super hard for him since loosing most of his hearing. But he and Julie end up writing together once and then they're a team for life. She focuses on the melodies while he focuses on lyrics, and then they fine tune it together. They talk Alex and Reggie into playing some of the new songs together, like the guys used to do before the accident.
Carrie and Julie slowly develop their own friendship as well, and she gets pulled into the family eventually. She and Alex and Willie become dance buddies. Willie has a hard time dancing for a long time cause of his prosthetics, but they also really like choreographing, so Carrie and Alex will try out the ideas they have when Willie is too tired to dance.
Just ALL THE FAMILY BONDING AFTER ALL THE TRAUMA THEY'VE BEEN THROUGH!!!
Okay sorry that got VERY long and kinda dark. Probably wasn't what you had in mind. SORRY!!! I shall shut up now. Hope you're not mad!

Road Trip AU / bonus points if it involves the GPP
-Ever since he was like eight, Willie has had this idea in his head that when he was 18, he was going to go on a Road Trip Across The States To Find Himself. Even though he's pretty confident in who he is now, he doesn't want to let down Tiny Willie.
-Except he's kind of maybe sort of part of this great big Polycule. And if he invites Alex, who honestly looks like he could use a Coming Of Age roadtrip, he has to invite his other boyfriend. And his boyfriends' girlfriends and girlfriends. And their girlfriends... and boyfriends. It's complicated.
-So clearly his idea to steal one of Caleb's cars... ahem find a car and hit the road isn't going to work. But doesn't want to give up on his dream, and he also doesn't want to leave everyone behind. What if they figure out they don't really miss him?
-Reggie finally teases it out of him, but Luke's the one who is most enthusiastic about it. For a hot second, Willie is worried his big adventure is going to be co-opted by some kind of music tour, but it turns out Luke just thinks it would be really inspiring.
-"And it'll be one last summer all together before everyone does their own thing," he adds shyly. Because yeah. Julie and the Phantoms is pretty much set to explode onto the music scene, but Flynn is going to head off to college. So, shockingly, is Carrie, after Dirty Candi crashed and burned their senior year.
-Carrie is the one who comes up with the solution. By which she means 'throws her dad's money at the problem' and suddenly they have a converted bus which is... like a tour bus-camper van-tiny house combined.
-She admits she knows it's not exactly the rugged living Willie envisioned, but she shows him that inside the storage, there's room for a bunch of tents so they can still go camping and stuff, too.
"You're going camping?" he asked.
"Obviously not, but you guys can and I'll make sure nobody steals the bus," she rolls her eyes.
-They set out and it's different than Willie imagined it, but also better. Like, he never expected that him and four of his friends would have to get their special Driving A Giant Ass Tourbus licenses beforehand, but it's better than Carrie's idea of bringing a driver. That's not very coming of age at all.
-There's people to bicker about the music with. He doesn't have to do all the driving, so sometimes he can just sit and watch the scenery. There's always someone to snuggle with, at any hour.
-They do a lot of things and go a lot of places that Willie never really thought about. Kayla and Flynn seem determined to hit up the weirdest tourist traps. Luke knows all the best music-y places to go. Julie keeps them updates about every region's cryptids, because her brother keeps sending her links. (Of course their giant fortress has perfect wifi.)
-Reggie really flourishes when they get to 'yeehaw country' and he makes them all go horseback riding with him. And line dancing. And there may be a mechanical bull that gets a lot of use while they're there. Even if Alex is worried they're going to break something until Reggie coaxes him on with him.
-Watching his two boyfriends on a mechanical bull together Does Things To Willie, okay.
-Okay, so maybe watching Luke on the mechanical bull also Did Things To Him, but he tried to avoid thinking of that.
-Between the mechanical bull, swimming in the lake at the park they stopped by, the campfire sing alongs, and seeing Luke in something other than IT'S ABOUT THE MUSIC mode, Willie is like: oh no I have a crush on my boyfriend's boyfriend.
-Of course Luke is still wrote songs, scribbling away in his song book, plucking at his guitar at rest stops (no guitars or skateboarding in the enclosed space with no escape while we're hurtling down the highway, they'd established.) But he also made time for all of them, and indulged every group photo in front of World's Biggest Bowling Pin or Ball Of String or what not, listened attentively to Reggie geeking out over a comic book exhibition they stumbled upon, and agreed to stay with Kayla while the others went on the Big Scary Roller Coaster so she wouldn't have to sit alone.
-And maybe there's more to Luke than meets the eye. They end up driving through the night together and talk, really talk, and yeah.
-Alex is the first to notice and just gives Willie a fake judgemental look. He and Luke never worked out romantically after they dated when they were fifteen, but he still knows the appeal.
-Reggie is over the MOON when Willie maybe kind of confesses it on one of their private walks. They all make sure to spend time together one on one, either splitting up to do different stuff when they hit a big city, or just going to different places to get food.
-Of course his stupid boyfriends do everything in their power to get him and Luke alone together over the next week.
-By the end of their big coming of age road trip, Willie may not have found some mythical version of himself, but he did find a new boyfriend.

“so do you…love me back, or?” and “just listen, all right, and stop laughing”
let's call this a part 2 to hallway!juke from the other day because we seemed to like them and i honestly have a whole makeout/third base thing planned for them and this felt like a good bridge between the two
soooo let's call this one rated m just to be safe even though there's only a brief mention of sex things. read at your own discretion!
The elated screams of Flynn, Reggie, and Alex down at the water pierced through the otherwise peaceful scene they’d found themselves in. It had been Luke’s idea for them to all head to the beach for sunset today, and Julie would be lying if she said she wasn’t grateful that the three of them had gone off on their own to leave her and her boyfriend with a little privacy on their stretch of the beach.
She’d brought a big quilt for them to lay out on, and Luke had immediately settled down on it and tugged her down to rest between his legs, his body forming the perfect cradle for hers to watch the sunset.
Now, she heard his chuckle in her ear as Reggie splashed at Flynn and made her scream. Alex was doing his best to stay away from both of them, building his own little sandcastle just out of reach of the rolling California waves.
It had been one blissful, glorious month of officially dating Luke. They fit together like two pieces of the same puzzle, lives meshing perfectly together in a seamless dance.
Julie made sure to check “beach cuddling” off her list of gross PDA things to do as she snuggled back further into Luke’s warm chest. His arm tightened around her waist, pressing her back against him completely.
“Are we gonna have to drag them away from the water once the sun goes down?” he wondered aloud, watching their three friends frolic and scream out ahead.
Julie nodded against his shoulder. “Oh, definitely. Then they’re all gonna pass out in the car on the way back home. When did we become the mom and dad of the group?”
She felt Luke’s laugh against her back more than she heard it over the crashing waves and squawking of gulls around them. “Hmm, that sounds very stable.” The words were spoken directly to her, goosebumps erupting across her skin as his lips grazed against the shell of her ear.
Julie blushed both at his words and at her body’s instinctual reaction that he’d obviously caught onto, because one of his hands left her waist to rub against her arms like he would warm her up with the friction. Which he probably would, if she was actually cold. “Yeah, well I’m pretty solid,” is the lame line she finally comes up with. And then hates herself immediately for it.
“I don’t know, I think you’re pretty soft.” Luke’s hand squeezed at her waist to emphasize the point, his fingers digging in gently without fluttering around to tickle at her side.
Julie snorted. “That’s true. You’re the solid one.” She reached behind her and poked at his stomach through his cutoff tee. The skin gave no give under her finger, a wall of solid muscle hidden beneath the shirt. Solid, for sure.
Luke flinched, and Julie’s smile turned wicked with the knowledge that he was ticklish. She filed it in the back of her mind as an important note for later.
“I saw that,” Luke mumbled, but Julie just shrugged her shoulders and played dumb about it.
“Mean.” The word comes with a sharper pinch to her side, so Julie craned her neck back and captured her lips with his.
It was obvious Luke wasn’t expecting it, but he was never one to complain about kissing Julie, and he recovered quickly. His lips moved languidly in time with hers, sucking against her bottom lip and then meeting her tongue in the middle when she gasped in surprise. He used one of his hands to guide her arm up and encourage her hand to tangle in the hair at the back of his head, then skimmed all the way down the inside of her arm and down the side of her torso to grasp back at her waist. She arched back into him further as his knuckles just barely skimmed against the edge of her bra on their way back down.
Julie loved Luke for a lot of reasons, but this was definitely up at the top of the list. She figured she could be comfortable kissing him for hours and hours if he’d let her. He was just so good at it. He always fed off her reactions and did things she wasn’t expecting, and kissing him was quickly becoming one of her favorite pastimes.
Determined not to be outdone, Julie nipped at the fullness of his overly-plump bottom lip and pulled back until it released with a little popping sound. Luke whimpered (which made Julie smirk) and immediately covered her lips with his once more.
His kisses grew slightly more desperate against her, moving faster and slightly more frantically until his mind seemed to catch up with him and he broke away with a start, gasping for breath as he leaned his forehead down on her shoulder.
Julie used the fingers still tucked into his hair to tug him gently out of the home he’d found in her neck. “Hey, you okay?”
At his nod, she snuggled herself back further against him.
And then she froze, and he froze too.
“What is that?”
“Nothing.”
Julie paused for a moment longer, and then she wiggled her hips to push even further back against him. There was no mistaking what she could feel against her tailbone. His sharp intake of breath and fingers flexing against her hip told her everything she needed to know.
She laughed. “Luke.”
“It’s a love boner!” he insisted, face hidden as far in her curls as he could get so she wouldn’t see him blush.
The phrase only made Julie laugh harder. Honestly, a love boner was maybe even worse than a regular one. She giggled and snuggled back against him to show him that she wasn’t freaked out, but she had a hard time suppressing the laughs that forced their way out of her diaphragm at the idea of a “love boner”. Surely that wasn’t real, right? She made a note to Google it later.
Actually, bad thought. She didn’t even want to know what might come up.
And then thinking about that made her laugh even harder until she was slipping down against Luke’s front and he had to tug her back to keep her from falling onto the blanket beneath them.
It got to the point where even Luke was laughing, but she was pretty sure he was more so laughing at her tears and gasping breaths than the whole boner dilemma. And then finally, “Okay, okay, just listen, all right, and stop laughing. I have something to tell you.”
It took her a minute to calm down enough for him to speak, but she made a serious effort to wipe the tears from her eyes and look back at him sincerely with her head rested back against his shoulders. She could do this. He obviously had something important to say.
“Mmkay.” She tangled her hand with one of his against her stomach, and he leaned down to peck her on the tip of her nose before he started speaking again.
“This is…this is all at your pace, okay? I don’t want you to feel like I’m expecting anything from you because we are dating. N-not that I don’t want to do anything, because I do. Eventually. But, like, whenever you want to. I don’t want us to do anything you’re not totally okay with. I’m down to wait as long as you need. For anything. Just promise me you won’t do something because you think it’s what I want, because I’m pretty sure I would hate myself if–”
Julie slid a hand over his mouth to stop the rambling statement. He froze, his seafoam eyes wide and honest as he waited for her response.
She appreciated that he’d said something about it. It wasn’t a conversation they’d had yet, but if school rumors held any merit then he had at least some experience with girls while she had absolutely none with guys. But being forced into doing something she wasn’t ready for wasn’t even something she’d considered when it came to Luke. He’d probably throw himself off the Santa Monica Pier before he did something that might make her uncomfortable.
“That goes both ways, okay? This is an equal relationship. We don’t do anything till we are both ready for it. No “my pace”. This is our pace. We decide everything together.” She leaned up to rest her forehead against Luke’s while she waited for him to consider her words.
After a moment, his nose nudged sweetly against hers. “You’re perfect, you know that?”
Julie rolled her eyes and recaptured his lips. This time, everything she did was returned with tenfold enthusiasm, and his happiness was palpable between them. His teeth nipped gently against her lip before soothing across the area with his tongue, content little hums passing back and forth between their mouths as they kissed.
But if Julie was being honest, she wanted more. She just wasn’t quite sure how to voice it.
Finally she parted from his lips with a gasp, tilting her head back against his chest but keeping a solid hand against the back of his neck to keep him from pulling away. When she applied more pressure to tilt his head down toward her throat, he got the idea and obeyed her wishes eagerly.
Neck kisses were a first for them, but Julie was sure immediately that this wouldn’t be the last time he did this to her. How was he so good at this?
Luke’s teeth scraped against the skin at the corner of her jawline and then his lips traced a path down the column of her neck before settling into a spot right over her clavicle. He applied a gentle sucking pressure there that left her gasping.
Pleased with her reaction, she felt as he gently nosed the collar of her shirt out of the way to expose more of her heated skin to his mouth. His lips found a spot that made her whine and laved wet kisses to it until she was arching into him and her head thunked against his shoulder.
Was this what it felt like to be turned on? Heaven help her if that was the case.
When he finally pulled away, it was with a distinct kissing sound that left her whimpering and wiggling frenetically against him. Why did he stop? “See, this is an example of me telling you I want more.”
His chuckle was dark and raspy, eyes blown wide and lips red and shiny from all the attention he’d lain upon her. “I know, but I’m not about to maul you on a public beach while our friends try very hard not to pay attention 50 feet away. You deserve better than that.”
The statement surprised Julie. That thought hadn’t even occurred to her. Her eyes scanned the beach for somewhere more private they might be able to go but came up empty.
Sigh.
It would have to be continued another day.
“Wow, you really do love me, don’t you?” The words were meant mostly as a joke, and Luke’s smacking kiss to her cheek made her giggle immediately.
“Seems that way,” he hummed, finally releasing his hold on her to lean back against his hands and watch the sunset as they’d originally intended for this excursion.
She leaned back with him, drumming against his raised thighs on either side of her hips as she turned her attention toward their friends still horsing around closer to the horizon, enjoying the silence and warmth of the boy pressed lovingly against her back.
The silence didn’t last all that long.
“So do you…love me back, or?”
Julie laughed. “Yeah, I think I do.”

17 and Fleggie??
every time we lie awake
flynn taylor has never had a normal-person sleep schedule, and her schedule as a dj doesn't really help matters. weddings, parties, clubs; she's all work and no play and sleeps in the middle of the day because that's the grind, baby.
so she's always up late, and there's this guy--well, she assumes it's a guy; his tumblr username is nerfherderhero and she's pretty sure she's seen some posts referencing his pronouns--who seems to have the same late-night schedule she does; he's always reblogging funny dog videos on her dash at just the right time and adding amazing tags to star wars posts (she still hasn't stopped laughing about him calling kylo ren "evil emo mayonnaise")
they have this funny little tumblr mutual relationship--the thing is, they have so much in common; he's always posting cool music for her to explore (she adds a LOT to her playlists, it's awesome) and he reblogs every artistic photo of food she uploads. (she has a whole series of ironic portraits of the stuff she orders from in-n-out; it's pretty hilarious if she does say so herself.)
they chat through tags. nerfherder is so off-the-wall funny; he says the most random things and flynn fucking loves it. he also has excellent taste in music.
julie starts giving her A Look whenever flynn mentions "my tumblr friend".
whatever! flynn is allowed to have friends she doesn't like. Know Personally. that's what the internet is for!
except there comes a two-week stretch where nerfherderhero kind of goes quiet. flynn even checks to make sure he didn't change his username but that's not it--he's just. not posting at the moment. no queue, no reblogs. her artistically-arranged chili dog photo goes un-noticed.
it's fine. flynn is Fine About It. he's probably just busy!
it's just rough because julie is also away, on tour with her new band--she met this group of dudes at college and has been spending all of her time writing songs with the guitarist (writing songs. suuuure, says flynn, and julie sticks her tongue out on their facetime call.)
flynn taylor has never been a coward, though (well, much of a coward) so she takes that terrifying internet friend plunge and pulls up a direct message.
hey--this is awkward but uh. hi! i just i just noticed that you're not around as much anymore which is totally your right obviously good for you for digitally detoxing lol i just--i miss you
she doesn't add the exclamation point even though it would make her seem more unaffected.
because the thing is: she's affected.
carrie laughs at her when she brings it up at brunch. it's not actually a mean laugh, despite it being carrie.
"only you would manage to crush on someone you don't even talk to," she says, sipping her passionfruit mimosa.
"better than when i had a crush on you," flynn retorts, but carrie just laughs again.
it all comes to a head when she facetimes julie late one night after a dj gig. she's wired, and there are no posts from Han Solo (which is unfortunately what flynn is now calling him in her head), and she just wants to mope with her best friend.
"oh, god, not you too," julie says. "reggie's all whiny because he broke his phone and we're in the middle of nowhere right now, so there aren't many places to go to fix it or get a new one. he's miserable. he keeps asking to borrow our phones to log into tumblr, of all things. something about his friend rapunzel."
"what."
flynn's username is remixingrapunzel bc she's flynn and she's a dj and also her braids are really long.
"yeah, he's like totally obsessed with her. them? i'm...not actually sure."
"her."
and julie's forehead wrinkles on her phone screen.
"how do you know?"
"um."
and the whole thing comes spilling out. han solo, funny captions on her in-n-out fries, the humiliating "i miss you" message that was never returned.
julie's eyes just keep getting wider.
"hang on," she says, and turns to yell over her shoulder. "reggie!"
there's a scuffle and julie hissing "come ON" and a long sigh, and then, sitting with julie, is the cutest boy flynn has ever seen in her actual life. he's got dark hair and nice freckles and right now he seems kind of sad, but oh my god, he's so so cute.
she can't help herself.
"nerfherder?" she says, tentatively.
his eyes lighten and it almost makes up for the last two weeks of misery.
"rapunzel," he breathes, and flynn has a feeling there are even more late nights in her future.
she's more than fine with that.

For the love your fandom ask game: 7, 9, 15 & 16 please 🙂
7 - favourite tropes to read
I'll be honest, I had to try looking up a list of tropes and that just confused me further (I have a general understanding of what they *are* but brain doesn't like not having confirmation that it's right nor access to a list 🙈). But I know enemies to lovers is one and I like that. Found family (obviously). I like almost anything I read and will probably spend too much time trying to answer this thoroughly so I'm gonna move on
9 - a ship that isn't your OTP that you enjoy
I don't have a proper OTP because I love them all 😂 but... fandom opened me up to all of the Reggie pairings, none of which I *love* but people write them in SUCH fun ways, I can't help but enjoy most of them. Oh and I've recently come to enjoy AU Caleb/Ray. Never knew I needed that.
15 - the character that always makes you smile
🥺 all of them. Luke is my fave and I just love him but also want to shake him a lot. Reggie's antics and Alex's comebacks make me smile every time. And Julie's growth and healing. And Flynn's unwavering support of her bestie.
16 - a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate
Ohhhhhh... I needed to think hard about this.
First to come to mind is every time Flynn has that proud smile on her face for Julie. Flynn deserves way more love.
I can't be concise, apparently 🙈 thanks for the ask!

JATP sexuality related headcanons:
Luke: demisexual, pan (both terms he learned from Julie and immediately adopted)
Julie and Flynn are both queer and don't feel the need to define it any further
Flynn also tends towards Aro but not Ace
Reggie: bi but took him a while to accept it because he thinks he should've realized before he was 17
Alex: gay obviously
Nick: literally the only straight person in the entire school
Alex and Luke dated when they were younger before realizing they were way better off as platonic family. Reggie freaked out when they broke up because he thought he would lose the band but it turned out OK.
Alex didn't want to tell Julie about his past with Luke because 90s homophobia is a bitch.
Reggie accidentally spilled the beans about Alex/Luke and Julie was just like "yeah, duh? Thought it was obvious?"
Ray takes them all to Pride every single year
