(brotherhood ep44 now) Alright Al and Winry revisiting the town where that priest was and getting to see how everyone is happily working together to rebuild the community, Al immediately deciding he wants to help out, Rose and Winry having a nice little conversation, everyone is really grateful to Ed and Al, this is too wholesome and I don't trust it. Something really fucked has to happen at some point this episode, I Do Not trust this show lmao

Rewatching fmab, the 20th or so episode makes it clear that "we didn't kill mom again", which makes the guilt/sin much lighter.

Also, in fmab, Edward dug the grave to prove their innocence (and succeeded in doing so), yet gravedigging in 03 was an attempt to kill the mother/mother-like thing again -- can you say that this didn't create a new sin while burying the sin with his own hands?

The sins in 03 are continuously added and cannot be removed, don't forget till the CoS' ending they still caused people's death.

Look, it’s probably the least fleshed out of all the ships in FMA, but she and Al are just so CUTE in concept, okay?? Like, she keeps building up this image of this chivalric hero in shining armor for herself, and then Al shows up and is quite literally a suit of armor??? 😂😂 In all seriousness, they’re very cute, and I think they have a lot of potential. What really sold me on it was Al nearly dying to shield her from the giant blast in the penultimate episode, of course. It also cracks me up that they’re already way better at talking about their feelings than Ed and Winry despite being younger 😂

20. What other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screen time they share doesn’t matter?

Hmmmm….I mean, though we don’t actually see them interact with each other much, we can infer that she and Winry must have become friends due to later circumstances 😂. They aren’t all that alike, but I feel like they could come to get along very well.

I think so—I don’t feel like I know her as well as some of the other characters, but I don’t see any reason why we wouldn’t get along.

I’m not too familiar with the fandom takes on him yet, but from what I’ve seen thus far, I love how we all understand that he is an incredible dad friend, and how integral he is to the entire plot of FMAB. Without him, Amestris would not have been saved.

up to about episode 20 rewatching fmab and its very very clear this is a different show and I should accept it on those terms but also... it kindve just feels like everything I love about 03 is just flat out not here?

like it's not even that it's done badly or half assed (except stuff like the nina episode which I genuinely think is inferior). it's not *bad* in any sense and I'm not really even criticising it here. but it's just like the nutrients I get from 03 have barely overlapped w the nutrients im getting from fmab so far

I HAD LIKE THE BIGGEST SOUL EATER PHASE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER!! :D this is like incredibly exciting, just because i love this piece of media a lot! :)

first impression: OKAY, so i heard a lot about him, due to my friend in middle school liking him a lot, so my first impression was that he was like very silly, but in a good way. like he takes things too seriously, and it usually ends up becoming comic relief material

impression now: HES THE!! HES THE GUY!! i love him, he is in fact silly. i think that despite his nature of taking things very seriously, he does know when to just have fun. i think he puts a lot of pressure on himself due to his father. i really enjoyed his character development, and all of his moments :)

favorite moment: the whole excalibur episode was so funny from what i recall. like i forced my father to watch it with me LMAO. also the scene where he passes out in the blackstar and soul fight, because they accidentally gave him a haircut

idea for a story: hmm idk :0 make him go to therapy for his clear ocd 🦧

unpopular opinion: i’m not sure i have one, so i’ll just state a pretty standard opinion, and it’s that i really wish they kept it closer to the manga. because they really skip a lot of his, and especially blackstar’s character development :(

favorite relationship: very basic, but i love his friendship with patty and liz :) his friendships with blackstar, and maka are also really great :D

I LOVE THE FOLK OF THE AIR SERIES, LIKE ITS SO MUCH FUN AHHH!! i remember being really skeptical about it, but then i binge read the whole series in like three days, lol!!! i was just talking about it with a friend last night! :)

first impression: HES MEAN, this is unsurprising seeing the title of said book. BUT, his opening segment is so mean, like he just ripped off someone’s wings?? like he’s never that mean for the rest of the series, it’s so uncalled for LMAOO 😭

How’s your fmab rewatch going?? I’m currently on episode 31 of my annual rewatch and need someone to shriek to cause I have IDEAS

I’m also about 80 pages into a fmab story but I’m worried no one is going to like it. Any tips?

I think I got to about episode 20 before my wife accidentally got me binging a whole new series (Bleach, specifically) but I’m always happy to talk about ideas and FMA centric stuffs! Shriek to me about whatcha got friendo!!

As for tips, I can’t really offer anything that wouldn’t be suuuuper generic, but my biggest piece of advice is largely just to post what you have and to try and find happiness in your own work—people will be able to feel and sense that passion and, given time, you might get yourself some fans who really enjoy the premise!

Speaking from experience as someone who writes a lot of niche stuff, it’s better to focus on how much you love writing the story than how much other people will react to it—though I know that can be tremendously hard to do at times (also speaking from experience) >w>;;

Manga chapters (disclaimer, there's a possibility I missed some because I was flipping through each volume kinda quick but I'm 99% sure I got 'em all) 40, 41, 42, 46, 54, Volume 14 ends with the Elric Family Omake, 67, 68, 74, 75, 78, 80, 81, 82, 85, 86, 87, 88, 90, 91, 96, 97, 100, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, Volume 27 ends with the bonus chapter of Trisha and Hohenheim.

Now, for the anime, I'm not as familiar, nor am I able to check every episode, but I can give a list of which ones I know off the top of my head! Episodes 19, 20, 36, 40, 42, 44, 45 (I think), 47, 49 (I think), 50 (I think), 58, 59, 60 (these three I'm guessing, but I know it's when they're fighting Father underground so it's a high chance), 61, 62, and 63. Sorry if these aren't as accurate, but I'm pretty sure at least most of them are right 😅

Bdjehd i went into fmab completely blind because a lot of the blogs i followed were talking about it after Steven Universe ended . Only AFTER i finished brotherhood and rewatched thw whole thing with my brother did i watch 03 and the movie and then read the first manga

honestly thats probably a way better way to experience it than i did bc i got ALL the spoilers for fmab. in an ideal world i would have watched like the first 20 or smth idk episodes of 03 then watched all of brotherhood and maybe gone back and watched some of the other more filler-y eps of 03

also this friend already complained about the fmab promised day spanning so many episodes when they watched that together. later in hxh there's at least one full episode that takes place in literally 20 seconds real-time.
