A PA AU CANON FOX MEETING OTHER (AND MUCH HAPPIER) FOX WITH PA AHHHHHHH—
Poor Canon Fox saw his other self with Yuu and was like, "I want that, I suppose I better go find them." Meanwhile "canon" Yuu is probably a college student on Coruscant because they decided to actually do the whole college thing rather than trying to become a sugar baby.
Anyway, back to the hostage situation for now!
"This is boring," You announce an hour later as you watch the security feeds as men from the 212 slowly sneak their way on board. "What, did you think it was going to be exciting?" Fox asks from where he's sitting against the door his blaster in his hand. "It is on the holos," You reply as you spin in the chair to look at him. "Real life isn't like the holos, little bird." Fox teases, "Name one thing in your life that happened just like it does in the holos." "I became the Supreme Chancellor's Personal Assistant at 18 because I refused to go to college." You reply dryly. "Riiight. I forgot that your life actually is like a holo," Fox says with a quiet laugh, "Well, not. Generally hostage situations aren't solved with soldiers bursting in with blasters hot. For good reason." "Yeah, I guess." You hop to your feet and fold yourself on the floor next to Fox, pressing your back against his side, "Still boring though." Fox drapes his arm over your shoulder and pulls you into a hug, "Yeah, yeah. I know." You grin at him and snuggle closer, "Thank you for coming to get me." "Cody's going to kill me, you realize." Fox jokes as he plays with some of your hair, "...but you had to know that I was going to come. I always will." "I know." "You're also getting a permanent body guard, and that's nonnegotiable." "...yeah, okay. That's fair. Can I get a Massiff?" "You're getting a rotating crew of human body guards." Fox clarifies, "I'll draw up a schedule when we get back to the barracks." "I can do it," You reply as you take his hand and thread your fingers with his, "Just tell me who all is being assigned to guard detail and I'll draw it up for you." He squeezes your hand, "Tired?" "I haven't slept the greatest the last couple of days." You admit. "Get some sleep, Yuu. I have you."

Umbara Arc: Kitsune Ed.
I am so undecided about how I want to play Umbara in this AU.
On the one hand, it could play out exactly the same because Anakin would trust Rex even more in this AU so when his Captain assures him they’ll all be fine with General Krell (who hasn’t dissed the clones yet, not with Skywalker still around) Anakin listens to him and leaves.
On the other hand, however, we have the option of Anakin making to leave and maybe his heightened senses picks up something off about Krell. Maybe he smells slightly wrong (he’s close to/already fallen) so he might ping on Anakin’s scent-dar as slightly rotten. Maybe Anakin’s willing to give Krell the benefit of the doubt and assume he’s being influenced somehow (irony called), or he’s had a close call with a darksider lately. But it’s enough to make Anakin suspicious and in this AU he’s already dodged the Chancellor’s calls several times. What’s one more? Dragging him all the way to Coruscant right now mid-battle is ridiculous anyway.
He gets about as far as the cruiser before telling the dropship to take him back and leave without him, give his regards to the council blah blah, thank you but no thank you there’s an issue he needs to solve here that’s more imminent. Then he stalks the 501st for a bit as a tiny fox, just to see. Just to check. So he gets to see how Krell treats his men, how he completley ignores the agreed upon plan, and the general disregard he has for all clones. At this point, Anakin doesn’t really care if Krell is darkside influenced or not, it’s clear if nothing else the man’s a prick. A five-tailed Kitsune suddenly bearing down on you would sure get a message across. Run or Die.
and then Anakin eats Krell and the entirity of the 501st help cover up the murder
But seriously, I’m veering more towards Anakin literally sniffs out Krell’s rankness and gets very possessive about his men being led by this absolute waste of space. Then the 501st cover for him because, man, if they couldn’t do it at least someone else could.
Rex: Krell died
Cody: He- What?!
Rex: Yeah, he ... stood on a land mine
Cody: Stood on a- but he’s a Jedi! How?
Rex: Couldn’t see past his own bullshit I guess
Cody: ...
Rex: ...
Cody: Copy that. I’ll inform the General. Proceed as planned.
Rex: Copy.
I am undecided because while it would be satisfying to write, it’s all kind of a Story Arc for the Clones y’know and I don’t wanna seem like I’m taking that away from them by having Anakin come in and merk Krell. But it would also save the Clones a lot of heartbreak. Maybe Rex gets to be his voice of reason and stops his General commiting a murder. Not for them, not over the likes of Krell (Rex himself couldn’t shoot him, even after everything he’d been through - he wouldn’t want Anakin to stoop that low either). Krell lives because of Rex’s mercy to face the judgement of the military tribunal instead.
... Oh Oh. Krell would escape a military tribunal, since it’s all a massive set up and whatnot. Krell comes back later perhaps, probaby attempts to take down Skywalker and/or Rex (in vengeance, or as a proof of his worth to be trained as a Sith who knows) only he gets Skywalker alone. Never a good thing.
Krell: You won’t kill me. Think of what your Captain would say.
Anakin: Oh, I’m sure he’d have some choice words for you. He’s good like that. But you know what else Rex is? Not here.
Then he eats him.

No Chips Fic
Okay so there's this fic about an au where the clones were raised to betray the jedi and change their minds and I have, not whole fic but a handful of conversations for it:
Rex is three very alcoholic cocktails in when Bly thumps down next to him with a beer and promptly faceplants into the table. "Mood." "She mourns our brothers when they die." Bly replies, barely coherent over the music and noisy brothers. "She mourns them with us and she found a way to get us those medical supplies when an admiral was stonewalling and she's freaking gorgeous on top of it - how am I supposed to handle this Rex??" "Don't ask me. I've got the crazy one remember?" He downs his drink. "Skywalker's supposed to be the non-traitor right? But he's crazy. I'm serious Bly. Completely batshit insane." "What'd he do this time?" The account of Skywalker's recent shenanigans (as if the 501st are not also somewhat crazy) is interrupted by Wolffe, Cody, and both Stone and Thorn as well joining them with their own drinks. Rex raises an eyebrow, mildly impressed that 2 Corrie Commanders managed to join, and asks "So have you thought about it?" "We're not fully convinced yet." Stone raises his hands as they start venting. "Cool it! We won't fight you alright!" He glares till they settle down, and continues "We aren't sure about your Jedi. But if you all decide, with absolute certainty, that this is the path you're going to take, we'll either back you or stay out of your way. Okay?" Bly lifts his head to say that's not good enough, catches sight of the bruising around Stone's eye, and changes his mind. "Maybe we should find you a Jedi. So you can see what we're talking about and get some extra protection." Both Corries snort and tell them that at the rate the Jedi seem to be going they'll get themselves all killed first because they're all idiots, which sparks an immediate argument over who's Jedi has done the craziest thing lately, and that's how they pass the rest of the night.
......
The next time they manage to get a bunch of commanders at 79s on the same night Fox and Thorn are there, and Fox is facedown on the table cursing under his breath. Bly grins like a shark and says "My general tells me you got a jedi?" "He's insane Bly. Completely insane." "Actually he's only mildly crazy." Thorn adds, pinning the hand that reaches up blindly to smack him. "Fox just says he's insane because he keeps flirting with-" Fox lungs but fails to stop Thorn up. "him and it makes Fox blush." Their brothers are all laughing like the little shits they are and Fox slumps down planning vengeance. "He's not that smooth." "You were redder than your paint!" Thorn does not dodge that smack and Cody grins and says "So you get it now?" Fox stares at him. "We pulled him out of a garbage bin. Four days later he found came across a Senator about to beat a Guard and got the Guard to us safely. That Senator showed up in the hospital the next day with four broken bones and no idea who put him there. So yeah, I get it. We're officially joining you in the "keep the Jedi alive and fuck the Sith plan." "I'm not sure that's what we're calling it." Cody mused and Fox threw his empty glass at him.
......
Cody hears the alert that signals a priority message and checks his secure comm. All the commanders and captains have one, they needed a way to communicate privately. Fox: Hey. You know the Sith who placed that order for us? The guy who promised when the war was over and we'd killed all the Jedi we'd be free? Oh boy. That was Fox's "I'm taking the time to say this because I'm pissed off voice." That was never good. Fox: ITS THE FUCKING CHANCELLOR. Cody freezes. Fox has attached evidence because of course he has, and the other commander is nothing if not thorough, so Fox has attached not only his evidence but also evidence of every time Palpatine has done some legal thing that would prolong the war, or voted against giving them rights. Alright. They need to rework their plans. Yesterday.
......
Here's the thing to understand. The clones never exactly trusted the Sith. A lot of them believed him when he set the deal out, but there were definitely some laying out back up plans and what-ifs and no one ever said anything about it because sure, they had a deal, but they only trusted their brothers. No one else. And sure, not every trooper trusts their Jedi generals, but they all hear about how General Koon found a replacement eye for Commander Wolffe, or how General Windu goes back for his injured troopers, or other stories. And even without that, they'll side with their brothers before they side with a Sith who put them in a war that's killing them. And when they find out that the Sith is the Chancellor who clearly has no intent of giving them their rights? Well, let's just say that was a mistake on Palpatine's part.

Can you write something/a snippet with Fox getting the news of Thorn’s death and how he and the Corries cope?
This is gonna reference an old post of mine because I thought it might be interesting to expand that AU
“Where is Commander Fox?” Stone looks up from his datapad to see Chancellor Palpatine staring down at him and he resists the urge to flinch. Thire who sits right next to him doesn’t hold back.
The Chancellor’s stare is hard, his expression uncaring. He holds himself with an air of superiority and boredom, and Stone knows he’s getting impatient by the lack of an answer.
“Unavailable, sir.” What else can he say? Fox went to the 79s to talk to Rex and Cody to let them know about where Fives has been placed within their Witness Program. While Fox won’t give them the exact location, he’ll give them enough clues to go searching if they really want to check on the vod.
The Chancellor raises an eyebrow, unimpressed at the answer. Stone bites his tongue at the man scans him over, afraid he might give away what Fox is doing. After all, Fives was never meant to live according to Palpatine’s orders. If the Chancellor finds out…well, every Corrie will be in danger.
“We can comm him to let him know he’s needed,” Thire pipes up, unable to hold his tongue. It seems the man is getting to his younger vod. Stone subtly shifts so that he is in front of Thire, hoping to get him out of Palpatine’s line of sight.
“No need,” the Chancellor answers. He throws a datapad on the desk, a report lying open for all to see. Stone briefly glances at it, blood running cold at the sight of the word Scipio on it. His heart begins to race as he stares back at the Chancellor. Thorn was in Scipio.
What did Palpatine just give them?
Thire gasps, no doubt already reading the report in its entirety. A soft “no” escapes his lips and Stone already knows it will be bad news.
The Chancellor tilts his head before speaking. “Tell Fox,” he starts, speaking slowly as though it is imperative that Stone repeats every word back to his Head Commander, “that when I give an order, I expect it to be followed.”
Stone swallows. The threat is clear in his message. Somehow, someway, Palpatine knows that Fives isn’t dead and whatever is in that report is a consequence to their actions to save him. The Commander nods, ignoring the noises that begin to leave Thire’s mouth behind him.
The Chancellor turns to leave, stopping briefly in his action. Stone has just picked up the datapad when he hears Palpatine speak. “It is a luxury to have three Commanders on Coruscant, not to mention that program.” Stone clenches his jaw, hand shaking ever so slightly at the comment. “If he fails again…” The Chancellor doesn’t finish, just leaves the sentence hanging in the air for several moments before walking away.
His eyes blur at the words on the screen, his nose burning as he breathes. Thire grasps his arm and Stone moves ever so slightly to allow the vod enough space to hug him. He needs the comfort just as much as Thire does.
Several words stand out and Stone doesn’t need to read it all to get the gist of it.
Mission unsuccessful.
Droid ambush.
The death of fourteen Coruscant Guards troopers.
Commander Thorn.
Status – deceased.
The datapad falls from his hand. He squeezes Thire close, who tries to hide the ugly noises of his crying. How will he tell Fox the news? More specifically, how would Fox handle the threats Palpatine has sent their way?
They knew eventually it would be too much to hide, that the politician would find out but to kill one of them because of it…even if it was indirectly, it’s unfathomable. Stone breathes, hoping to steady his nerves before sending a wide alert across the Corrie system.
WARNING! Corrie Program has been jeopardized. Initiate Evacuation Plan 4487.
He then privately comms Fox. He tucks his comm away, dragging Thire up as he stands. “We need to leave.” They can mourn on the evacuation ships. Now is not the time.
~
“I can’t tell you.” Fox has repeated the statement over six times and it’s like Rex doesn’t hear him. The blonde vod huffs at the words, ready to argue again when his comm chirps.
Fox looks down, swiping up at the message. Why is Stone coming him? He knew Fox wouldn’t be in till early morning.
Stone: Thorn is dead. He knows.
Fox’s heart freezes at the message, barely able to process it when another comes through. The system wide alert for all Corries. He looks up and he sees his men start to trickle out of the bar, following the plan.
His breathing picks up. His hand is squeezed, and he looks down at the sensation, following the arm that attaches to the vod holding his hand. Cody’s eyebrows are furrowed in confusion. His lips are moving words no doubt leaving his mouth, but Fox can’t hear over the pumping of blood rushing past his ears.
This wasn’t supposed to happen. Helping Fives wasn’t supposed to cause this…this…What has he done? Cody waves a hand in his face and Fox swipes at it, pulling his hand away from the hold his vod has on him. He stumbles towards the exit, hardly caring if he’s followed back to his office.
His men are in danger.
His men.
Fox rushes to the speeder bike he drove here, kickstarting it. His chin is grabbed, and Fox is staring back at Cody. Cody who’s eyes are wide, lips mouthing out one word. He looks absolutely terrified.
Fox shakes his head; he can’t focus on that right now. He thinks to apologize and hopes he does but he can’t quite control his senses right now.
He needs to leave.
His men are in danger.
Thorn is dead and his men are in danger.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
How did this happen?

Today, I'm sharing a tiny bit of the project I'll be working on (sorta unofficially with a lower word goal) during NaNo 2022. My intention is to finish "The One to Survive", the first fic in my Insurrection series (No order 66 AU) during next month. Also, finishing writing chapter 5 of Rough Awakening (AT LAST!) and the second chapter of The Enemy Within. And if I manage to do all that, then I'll start writing the second fic in my no order 66 AU, "Casualty".
So here there are 6-ish sentences from The One to Survive:
“Fox, you okay?”
Fox lets out an unintelligible murmur as he goes in a beeline for the caf machine. Cody wonders if he should take it as a positive or negative answer. His eyes widen as he watches Fox fill a cup nearly to the brim and then chug down a third of the burned, bitter liquid in one go.
“Kriff, Fox!”
Nonplussed, Fox looks at him, raising an eyebrow. “What?”
“Can’t you drink caf like a normal person? Make a new caf pot, at least. The thing in that jar is nasty.”
“Um, no.” Fox gives him a sideways look while refilling the cup. “No patience for it. Either it’s this, or my caffeine levels will get critical, and I’ll go on a killing spree. As a result, the Republic could lose a few hundred senatorial representatives. Starting with the chancellor.”

* marks unfinished fics
Star Wars
one-shots:
it is the exact opposite of alone (tumblr link) — [G] Bastra and the ghost that haunts him.
life would be easier if I was easier (tumblr link) — [G] Fox at his limit, Quinlan making it worse and better.
I miss doing nothing with you (tumblr link) — [G] Western AU; reunion for Saleese and Nocte
* inevitability (tumblr link) — [T] On choosing something fleeting because it's worth it, even if the end is inevitable.
fare thee well, my honey (tumblr link) — [T] A breaking point for Kit and Nocte.
growing pains (tumblr link) — [T] Physical therapy frays Echo’s nerves and tests Nocte's patience, but mutual understanding is key.
in amber (tumblr link) — [T] Fox hits the streets by himself. Thorn goes down after him.
oceans, then and now (tumblr link) — [T] It's a rare occurrence for Nocte to get sent off of Coruscant, especially as the lone trooper assigned to escort a Jedi to the Outer Rim. But then, Dara has a way of defying norms and expectations rather spectacularly.
on the importance of context — [T] "I think we should talk", and other alarming phrases.
down and disarmed — [T] Waking up on the floor of a jail cell is not, in fact, Uj's preferred way to start a day.
pillow talk — [M] For all that fucking the bratty attitude out of Quinlan is a great way to blow off steam, and a cathartic one at that, it occurs to Uj that it’s probably not the best idea.
ins and outs of recall — [T] The backlash of Nocte's research on the Guard's neurological troubles.
while the currents rage below — [M] After an explosive fight and harsh words that can't be taken back, Fox and Kyr are left in different kinds of shambles. Nocte tries to pick up the pieces.
extensive and astute observation — [T] Saleese jabs a sharp elbow into Nocte's side, right where plastoid would usually make her immediately regret it. Dress greys provide no such protection. But tonight, not even bruised ribs can kill his mood. Tonight, he has a shot at identifying her mystery Jedi.
leave the heels on — [E] After a drag show, Lane keeps Uj company in his dressing room.
with and without — [T] Another farse of a vote, and the repercussions for those affected. (Nocte has a dissociative episode, Saleese tries to help him out of it.) + a lovely podfic by @/godoflaundrybaskets
nightmares — [T] Sleep brings the promise of reliving the worst moments of Nocte's life, like his own personal trauma reel. Maybe it's better to stay awake.
blank — [T] All anyone knows is that the Chancellor claims that Fox made an attempt on his life. Now Fox is en route to Kamino.
peace — [G] Months after Order 66, Rex gets a visit.
h(a)unted — [T] Echo wrestles with trauma and memories of captivity in the wake of realizing why the Kaminoans are sending hunters after Omega.
Wandering — [T] After Order 66, after the crash of the Tribunal, after his Commander– after Ahsoka told him it would be best to part ways, Rex wandered. He wandered because he couldn’t stay still. If he was still, if he stopped for longer than it took to eat and sleep, then he would think.
guess it just wants to die — [T] CC-1010 lays down. Fox wakes up.
Little Orphan Ani — [T] Anakin's men were wrong. Cody and Obi-Wan weren't father figures to him. So what if Cody's disappointment felt like a physical weight on his shoulders and he spent undue time and energy trying to make Obi-Wan proud? They weren't his parents. Not that they would be bad dads. To someone else. Not him, because he didn't see them that way, but someone else who needed unconditional support and care. (in which Cody and Obi-Wan dad at Anakin and Anakin is oblivious, right up until he isn't)
Truly, Deeply — [T] Of course Obi-Wan was not blind to the emotional, hormonal storm around his Padawan. One would have to be blind to both the Force and the physical world to miss it. And really, Anakin must have forgotten that his Master was not only Force-sensitive, but also connected to his mind through their training bond. (in which Obi-Wan is painfully aware of Anakin's feelings for Padmé and also forever wondering where he went wrong in trying to teach his Padawan subtlety)
Commander Fox Week 2021:
exhaustion (tumblr link) — [T] Fox has been running on fumes for days, counting down the time until he can drop onto the nearest surface and finally sleep.
hope — [T] Enough is enough. The Republic was doomed to fail, that much is clear. The Empire may have been inevitable as well. All Fox knows is that he’s finished, he can’t pretend anymore. He can’t fall in line like his mind has been wiped blank. So he decides to do something drastic.
family — [T] The fear-mongering rumors on Kamino about Fox being some kind of abusive, tyrannical prick have reached a point where they can’t go unaddressed. His shinies are clearly afraid and miserable with their assignment to the Guard, which Fox understands, but he can try to help them feel more at home. He can dispel some of the rumors.
laughter — [G] Existential debate rages in Fox’s office.
vode an — [M] Order 66 wiped away the clones’ autonomy, but mindless drones don’t have the wherewithal to feel guilt for their actions. The Rebellion is trying to get clones out of the purge trooper program, but freedom comes at a cost.
brothers — [T] Senator Amidala returns from Scipio with the 501st. This is the aftermath.
multi-chapter:
five times Nocte took care of the Corries, and one time they returned the favor (under construction) — [M] what it says on the tin
* red hands and black deeds — [M] Fox gets assigned to the Coruscant Guard after his bravery and sacrifices for the Republic during the First Battle of Geonosis. This job is a long shot from the one he spent his entire life preparing for; it's a war on a different front and it's on him to get his men out alive. Whether he'll get himself out with his sanity intact is up for debate.
* talk is overrated, let's just fight — [E] The Guard didn't have a designated Jedi, but they had the absolute nuisance that was Quinlan Vos. He was already more than Fox could handle. The man was at least halfway banthashit insane and seemed to derive some sadistic pleasure from derailing Fox's entire day. For all that Rex and Cody complained about their admittedly crazy Generals, Fox struggled to believe that they could possibly be worse than Vos.
* a cry at the final breath — [M] CC-2224 was a good soldier, had been decanted, raised, and trained to be a good solider. Good soldiers follow orders, so that's what he did. At times, in the deep recesses of in mind, he might questions his orders, but he always followed them. Cody has to re-learn how to do more than follow orders, to live and fight of his own accord. He's been a soldier all his life, fighting in wars that aren't his. What is freedom to a man who has only ever known captivity?
unposted WIPs I'll gladly yammer about:
currents — [M] instead of joining TBB, Echo requests a transfer to the Guard, hoping to find answers about Fives' death on Coruscant
the holding of hands, the breaking of glass — [M] follows Nocte's journey through part of the war, semi-centered around his situationship with Kit Fisto
after dark — [T/M] an AU where Quinlan Vos leaves the Jedi Order and winds up with a sect of Mandalorians; after the war, Fox is sent to Mandalore with a squad to "negotiate" (read: jumpstart an Imperial occupation) and their paths cross again
head forward // heart back — [M] follows Uj from the beginning of the war, through his assignment to the Shadows and (maybe) into his reassignment to the Guard. largely focused on his evolving relationship with Quinlan Vos
remember to breathe — [T/M] filling in the gap between Cmdr Maze and Arligan Zey's flight from Coruscant and their arrival on Mandalore. the one where I'll try to carry a whole ship on my poor aching back
The Great SWxMK Crossover Episode — in which @/kiwikipedia and I grab MK characters by the scruff and dump them into the GFFA, and vice versa
Mortal Kombat
SubScorp Week 2022 (WIP, off schedule)
impossible — [T] Years ago, Kuai Liang watched Hanzo Hasashi die. Grief is a complicated thing, but seeing the man he loved up and walking again seems a step beyond its traditional stages.
* a cautionary tale re: betting against Johnny Cage — [M] clothes swap, upcoming
* frigid — [T] childhood, upcoming
* a mirror, inverted — [T/M] trapped, upcoming
* in winter's embrace — [T/M] touch-starved, upcoming
* unspoken (yet heard) — [T] secret, upcoming
* cozy koozie — [T] crochet, upcoming
one-shots:
death-adjacent (under construction) — [M] Kuai knew, when a phantom from the past appeared in the Fire Gardens. He knew before Scorpion – not yet Grandmaster Hasashi, not yet Hanzo – spoke a single word.

Fox^2 Stuff
Previously on this AU...
I can't find a bridge scene between these bits and the last scene I have in my head, so I'm just going to go ahead and post this.
---
Fox kept seeing something out of the corners of his eyes. It seemed like another person like him, but dyed-gold where he was dark. When he tried to look at them directly, though, there was no one there.
-
"How is it doing?" Cody stepped into the hydroponics room where they were keeping the ysalamir.
"Still alive." Waxer reached over and gently touched the small lizard attached to the transplanted sapling. It blinked placidly.
Ysalamiri, it turned out, were sessile. They tended to die if removed from their tree branches. The 212th had killed a few of the things by accident before they realized what the problem was.
But Longshot had spotted a young one just settling onto a sapling, so Cody had ordered it dug up and potted. After Obi-Wan had reassured him that a ysalamir this young still had the Force-suppression effect of the older lizards.
His general had, for obvious reasons, avoided the little lizard for the entire trip back to Coruscant. Cody was willing to bet the other Jedi would do the same.
But he hadn't collected it to use against the Jedi.
-
"It's nice the other boot finally dropped," Stone said. It was a relief, honestly, Thorn not waking. Things had been going too well for the Guard.
Thire pulled back from clinging to him long enough to headbutt him. Then he wordlessly hid his face in the crook of Stone's neck again. He'd barely let go since they'd been kicked out of the room so the Jedi could try to help Thorn.
Stone had barely let go of Thire himself, so it wasn't like he had room to talk.
The Chancellor- the ex-Chancellor - had been in their dreams. He was responsible for the nightmares that had plagued the Coruscant Guard commanders since the first day they reported to their posts.
Stone wanted to kill him. Stone had wanted to kill him a lot over the years.
He held onto Thire and hummed into the other commander's hair, instead.

Star Wars: Clone Wars AU idea that popped into my head and won’t leave. Maybe someday I’ll have the motivation to actually write a fic about it, but for now I’m just putting it out into the world:
What if, late enough into the war that the clones have all bonded pretty strongly with the Jedi, but not so late that they’re into Sidious’ endgame, the clones become aware of the chips in their heads, and what they could be forced to do. They catch onto Sidious’ plan to have them kill the Jedi, wiping them out in one fell swoop, and are naturally horrified. It’s bad enough that the war is slowly whittling down the Jedi’s numbers, no matter how hard the clones have been trying to keep them safe, but to know that they were meant as a trap? It’s almost unthinkable.
(Maybe Tup’s chip malfunctions earlier than in canon. Maybe early enough that it can be removed without killing him, before he actually harms anyone. This AU is already going to be self-indulgent enough, why not say that’s what happens, and that’s how they find out)
So the clones realize that Sidious is going to use them to kill their Jedi, and while getting the chips out of their heads is of course the ideal solution to this problem, they’re worried about tipping off Sidious that they’re onto them. They need to come up with another plan, some sort of distraction, something to buy them time.
That’s when it hits Cody that they can kill two birds with one stone. They can get Sidious off of their backs, while simultaneously getting the Jedi away from the war, with one single crazy plan; fake Order 66. They will act as if Order 66 somehow got activated early, and “kill” all of the Jedi, thus removing them from the war and Sidious’ plans. After this long into the war, the Jedi’s numbers have dropped to several thousand, which could probably all be safely sustained on a single suitable planet. Cody has some of his best scouts start searching for a planet for them to stash the Jedi safely away, and then starts planning Operation: Daybreak.
Planning is difficult. Somehow they have to fake the deaths of several thousand beings, simultaneously, without tipping off their plans to the Sith. The Jedi in the field are easy enough to figure out (i.e. how Order 66 initially went down), but the Jedi in the Temples, and away from the fighting are much more difficult. And there’s one further complication: they can’t actually warn the Jedi what they’re doing, as they need the Jedi’s reactions to be as realistic as possible to sell their plan. Several brothers object, but as Cody points out, at least the Jedi will still be alive to be mad at them after.
Despite these difficulties, their plan somehow goes off without a hitch. It’s an awful day, and the feelings of hurt, horror, and betrayal radiating off of every single Jedi is strong enough that it echoes throughout the galaxy, making Operation: Daybreak even more realistic. Getting the “bodies” off of Coruscant, along with anything of value that the clones are able to sneak out of the Temple, is genuinely the hardest part of the plan, and there’s a tense moment when the Chancellor demands that he go see what has happened at the Temple and try to provide “help” but somehow Fox manages to convince him to let the clones deal with the clean up. The Commander of the Coruscant Guard comes out of that meeting with the shakes and his blacks absolutely soaked with sweat from the stress, but he manages to avert disaster.
The next day, when the first Jedi start to wake up from being transported to their new haven, is almost as bad as Operation: Daybreak. They’re angry, understandably so, but when the clones explain what happened, why they did what they did, they find they can’t argue. The clones put so much on the line to enact this plan, to sabotage it now would be foolish. Despite this, many of the Jedi are left feeling wary of their men, upset with being hidden away when others are out there suffering.
But now the clones have time. Sidious is busy managing the Senate, who haven’t quite become anti-Jedi enough yet for them to be declared traitors without opposition. Sidious also doesn’t have the same level of power as he should have towards the end of the war, so he can’t just sweep the whole thing under the rug either. And while the clones ‘malfunctioning’ has put a target on their backs, the war hasn’t suddenly ended because the Jedi are gone, so the clones are still needed. They’re safe for now. Well, as safe as they can be in a war where suddenly all of their Generals are “dead” and the chain of command has kind of exploded.
It’s a messy couple of weeks post-Operation: Daybreak, which means no one notices every single clone going through a mandatory operation that leaves tiny white scars on the sides of their heads.
I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure where the AU could go from here. Obviously there’s the war that needs ending. Maybe now that they’re free of Senate influence, the Jedi are able to track down Grievous and Dooku, put an end to them, and then open negotiations with the Separatist leaders. Maybe with Sidious’ plans activating too early, the Senate turns on him and he’s actually ousted from power through completely legal means.
(He’d still go all Sith-crazy and try to take control that way, though, that goes without saying. Fox sees it coming, though. He can be the one to shoot Palpatine and save the day, as a treat).
Either way, peace is restored to the galaxy, and the Jedi are safe and free to decide if they want to return to the Republic that was using them and abusing them, or if they’d like to start fresh. And maybe, after seeing what the clones were willing to do to protect them, after coming to terms with what could have happen, a tentative trust begins to develop between clones and Jedi again. It’s not perfect, the whole galaxy has a lot of healing and repairing to do, but now they have the time to do it.
And that’s all I’ve got. Ta-da!

Codywan Vikings AU?
Thé Clones are an all male village of mercenary warriors, the Jedi are a village of religious zealots. Senators are Jarls, Chancellor Palpatine is a Norwegian king that was not appointed, but won the crown by challenge. The last king stepped aside and wanted Jango Fett to take over, but Palpatine killed him. Fox is Palpatine's imprisoned champion that he stole from after defeating Jango. Cody has a sunburst painted on his shield. Rex has Jaig eyes. The Mandalorians are veiled warriors hailing from the Middle East but found everywhere. The separatists are the Anglo Saxons. Clone War battles are English raids. Palpatine and the Sith are the cult of Hel. Force Ghosts are spirits in Valhalla that can communicate with the devoted.
Codywan Vikings AU. Sound off.

Keep the Jedi Out of It
With input from @atagotiak (Tia), @gelpenss (Gel), and @thisarenotarealblog (Doc).
Standard initial premise: Clones take over the Republic after Fox kills Palpatine.
Fun AU Twist: in order to keep people from trying to fuck over the Jedi, and also as a backup because they trust the Jedi to at least try to save them after the initial hubbub goes down, and also as a bit of a vindication for those who don't like their Jedi... the clones arrest all the Jedi and just keep them in the brigs etc. until they figure out how to break the news to the galaxy that Palpatine was a bigger problem than previously anticipated.
"Why did the Jedi not stop you?" "Great question! We arrested them." "...all of them?" "Yes." "On what grounds?" "On 'they would have stopped us from killing the Chancellor' grounds."
"The Jedi couldn't stop you from arresting them?" "We just kind of told them 'here, hold this' and then put the force cuffs on. It was really easy, actually, they trust us way too much, it's kinda scary. A few of them passed out without the Force to keep them awake and the medics got pissed they hadn't been sleeping." "...you're saying you did this for their own good?" "No, we did it so we could kill the Chancellor."
Tia:
Anakin would def be upset. What would the other jedi be like? Mostly exasperated? I imagine a few would be like “well I guess I’m stuck here. I’m gonna have a nap”
Doc:
Obiwan finds a corner he likes and conks out in 5 minutes with the power of long experience
Gel:
At least one or more of the Jedi is like. WEIRDLY zen about it. Like “yeah if he arrested me there’s DEFINITELY a good reason and they’ll all tell me eventually”
Like the reason O66 worked in large part was that the Jedi trusted the clones, which means that you could easily argue that without even murder-of-said-Jedi on the mind, it would be even easier to just. Trick them.
Rex was uncomfortable about arresting Anakin for "Palpatine's his friend and he'll hate me" reasons so Kix just arrested both of them himself. They don't tell Anakin what's going on even when he grills Rex in their shared cell. Anakin's under the impression this is a 'you haven't been taking care of yourself' medic arrest.
Ahsoka had to share a cell with Yularen and they played cards because Ahsoka wanted to work on her Sabacc-without-Force-Cheating skills.
Some of the arrested Jedi have tea parties with the clones who arrested them. Mostly I'm imagining this as being Mundi. Bacara is off handling Various Things and the shinies put in place to guard Ki-Adi while the Coruscant problem is handled just sit down and have some tea with him while he teaches them Jedi philosophy, because Mundi strikes me as very "grandpa tells you stories to try and relate to the youth and he's not great at it but he sure is trying to be a good grandpa, and he's a bit out of the loop but he's putting in the effort, he got you some of those Pokey-mans you like for the holidays and everything."
"It's been three days, are you going to tell me why this was all necessary?" "Chancellor's a Sith Lord." "WHAT?" "It's fine, Fox killed him, but we couldn't have the Jedi stopping us, or like... getting accused of organizing it. So we just arrested, uh... everyone over the age of three?"
Tia:
Im just imagining Depa in a cell, sometime before the assassination is done: Grey: yeah so we’re killing Palpatine, for uh. Reasons. Depa: well I feel like I should disapprove, but….
Gel:
Anakin is spinning conspiracies about mind control because why else would they do this and the clones are just like. 😬“well yes but actually no”
Cody: No hard feelings but we do need Fox to do the plan. Chancellor's evil. Obi-Wan, not at all convincingly, especially after the explanation: Oh no... the Chancellor... whatever shall I do... Cody: ...do I even need to put you in cuffs? Obi-Wan: For the sake of protocol, yes.
Doc:
Ponds: we're going to kill the chancellor Mace, who got pressured to give the chancellor access to a 10-year old: legally, I cannot endorse this.
"We arrested the Jedi." "...and they LET you?" "Yeah, they assumed it was for a plan, which it was, but they assumed it was 'we're being watched by Separatists, play along' reasons and not, you know, killing the Chancellor."
Bly: General Secura, you're under arrest. Aayla: Wh--On what charges? Bly: Uh.... it's a sex thing? Aayla: ..............sure, why not.
Monnk: General Fisto, you're under arrest. Kit: Why? Monnk: ....reasons. Kit: ........yeah, okay.
Nobody even bothers to tell Shaak Ti, she's so far away that she can't do anything and really they just. Don't tell her she has a long-distance call coming in.
The only Jedi that don't just get arrested with zero fuss are the ones that are in active battle zones far enough away that it's not worth the deaths that would follow, Anakin, and 'I don't trust clones' types like Krell.
And the ones in-Temple, which is admittedly a lot, but we're going to ignore that and say the clones just triggered a reactive shut-down protocol that had metal going over windows and stuff.

If you want to, how about "I hate seeing you like this...please, let me help." from the prompt list with Fox? And maybe also with Wolffe, or whoever you're feeling? Thank you!
Thank you so much for the ask anon! 💗 Here’s Wolffe comforting Fox in an AU where the chip conspiracy was discovered and Palpatine got killed in battle by the Jedi, but he used the inhibitor chip to turn Fox against his batchmates during that final fight. I hope you’ll like it!
Prompts list
"I hate seeing you like this...please, let me help." - Fox & Wolffe
Fox is sitting in a corner of the Chancellor’s office, curled up in a ball. His whole body aches from bruises and probably a few broken bones, but it’s nothing compared to the crushing weight of what he’s done.
The Sith lord is dead, and his brothers of the Coruscant Guard are finally safe, but no thanks to him. Not when his actions could have condemned them all. Tears are gathering at the corners of his eyes, but he doesn’t let them fall, just like he represses his sobs. He doesn’t feel like he has any right to express his misery or burden anyone with it.
When Wolffe crouches next to him, Fox can’t bear to look at him in the eyes, not when all he can see is the still fuming blaster shot on his sibling’s forearm. How can he deserve any compassion, when he’s the one responsible for this?
“You should leave me alone.” He murmurs, barely loud enough to be heard.
“When you’re obviously hurt? I don’t think so. C’mon, let’s take you to a medic.”
Wolffe offers a hand to help him stand up, but Fox refuses it with a shake of his head. His sibling’s kindness just makes the raging self-hatred that burns in his chest even worse. He doesn’t understand how Wolffe has it in his heart to care for him.
“Why are you even bothering with me? I’m not worth it.”
Fox can’t see the way Wolffe frowns upon hearing him, but he definitely feels the hand on his shoulder when his brother sits next to him.
“Don’t say that kind of things, Fox’ika. Of course you’re worth it, you’re my brother! Force, I hate seeing you like this...please, just let me help.”
His touch and words are comforting, and Fox wishes for nothing more than to melt into it, but he can’t. Not with how he’s failed him, how he’s failed their whole batch. Wolffe shouldn’t be concerned with him. In the chaos of battle, Fox has seen Bly get injured, and Rex too, struck by force lightning. Wolffe should be staying by their side, not his.
“How are you not mad at me? If General Kenobi… If he hadn’t stopped me, I… I would have killed Cody.”
As Fox speaks, rapid memories flash before his mind. Of the Jedi coming to confront the Chancellor about inhibitor chips, their lit lightsabers in hand. Of his batchmates accompanying them. Of the terrible words. Order 66. Good soldiers follow orders. Of his whole world revolving around eliminating traitors and nothing else. Of himself putting all his strength and skills into trying to murder his own brothers, and Force, how could they ever forgive him?
Whenever he closes his eyes, the moment when he almost struck down Cody unfolds again and again. He had him in his line of sight, would have pulled the trigger, would have killed him without remorse, if General Kenobi hadn’t force-pushed him into a wall just in time. And to make it worse, it gave Sidious the opening he needed to attack the Jedi, and now Kenobi is missing an arm all because of Fox, and Cody will never look at him the same again…
Fox only realizes he has started sobbing loudly when Wolffe wraps his arms around him and pulls him close. He fondly threads his fingers through Fox’s hair, in the way that always managed to calm him down when they were still cadets. It helps keep the intruding thoughts away. That’s so much more than Fox deserves, but he can’t find it in himself to push his brother away. Instead, he clings to Wolffe like a traumatized shiny who just survived his first battle would.
“Don’t blame yourself, none of it was your fault. You were under the influence of Sidious, may that bastard rot in hell. He’s the one who made you do all this.”
“That’s not an excuse!” Fox blurts out “I should have been strong enough to resist it! I… Kriff, I hurt you… It was my role to protect you, and instead, I hurt you…”
“You were manipulated by a Sith, Fox! No vod would have been strong enough to resist him. If anything, we should be the ones sorry for not noticing something was wrong earlier. So please, just let us fix our mistakes and look after you.”
“But, Bly and Rex, they’re… And Cody… Because of me, his General… He’s… They’ll hate me, Wolffe!”
Fox tries to stay coherent, he really does, but it’s hard when his weakened body is trembling with every sob. His mind and emotions feel like they’re in shambles, too. Wolffe sighs and keeps stroking the back of his head in an affectionate manner.
“Now, that’s the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard you say. Of course, they won’t. We love you, you idiot. Force, you have no idea how horrifying it was when Sidious activated your chip. How terrified we were of never getting you back, vod’ika.”
There’s a shaking edge to Wolffe’s voice, one that’s usually reserved for when he talks of the troopers he lost to the Malevolent. His words are filled with so much sincerity that it finally hits Fox: his brothers love him still, and they’ll keep on loving him, no matter how much he despises himself. Fox can barely comprehend how or why, but he’s hurt and exhausted, and the warmth of Wolffe’s arms feels right.
“Let me take you to the medbay. Let me show our brothers you’re you again. I’m sure they’re all worried. Rex almost refused to follow the medics because he wanted to stay with you, you know. So please, come with me?”
That’s what finally decides Fox; the need to see for himself if their siblings are doing alright. In the end, he’s still their ori’vod. If his batchmates still want him by their side, then it’s his duty to look after them. He silently nods his agreement and his brother helps him to his feet. His legs are still wobbly and he winces from the pain, but with some help from Wolffe, he manages to stay upright.
His vod keeps an arm wrapped under his shoulder, strong and reassuring, as he guides him away from the Chancellor’s office and all the awful memories he associates it with. Fox leans on him in more ways than one, too drained out not to accept his help, even if he’s still not completely sure he deserves it. Still, Wolffe deems him worthy of love and care, and Fox is in desperate need of both, so where’s the hurt in letting his brother win that battle? Not that Fox really stood a chance to begin with: Wolffe has always been the stubborn one of their batch, after all.
                                                  ~~~~~
Wolffe smiles softly when his vod finally accepts his help, although timidly. A twinge of guilt grips at his heart for not intervening before things got this bad, for how oblivious he’s been of the Guard’s silent suffering, but he pushes it aside. Now is not the time for regrets, not when Fox needs him more than ever. He can tell it will take time to repair all the damage caused by Palpatine and rebuild Fox’s confidence, but he’ll be there every step of the way.
