In the midst of a gender crisis, Saiki tries to come up with excuses for why he likes being Kuriko sometimes. He can avoid a lot people for the most part. He can take advantage of women-only promotions. He can use women’s bathrooms, which are much cleaner and, usually, calmer. Genderfluid Saiki Au

Nendou gives Saiki discreet pronoun buttons for his birthday one year. (His actual birthday because Nendou at some point found out when it actually was.) The buttons are just little round buttons in different solid colors, they even came in a small wooden box.

Saiki ends up using them every day and he loves them despite not really explaining to anyone else what they mean. The buttons do help improve his mood though as he starts taking time ever now and then to breath and consider how he’s feeling. Which causes him to change little things to feel more comfortable.

He starts doing certain things ever so often such as painting his nails in neutral colors or wearing a simple necklace. He even expanded his wardrobe and spends more days as Kuriko.

Nendou suggested taking the birthday boy out to eat when he gave him the buttons, Saiki jokingly asked if it was supposed to be a date. He was surprised when Nendou said that he would like it to be a date, if that was okay with him of course.
