Looking For Gifwork Artists!!

Hey y'all, I'm looking into commissioning more than a couple of gifs for headers and other stuff, but I have no idea how much people charge or how to vet people so I'm not ripped off. There's so much high quality gifwork since the recent renaissance and upgrades to resolution sizes I think now I want to get a whole array.

I've been wanting to do this for a second but needed the spare cash to afford it also. Can anyone point me towards someone that does this, or are any of my mutuals like selling their services? Any advice too would be awesome 😎

@brawn-gp - does some of the most amazing and consistent colouring on this website

@jasonkelce - some of the most consistent and smooth gifwork I've ever seen especially when it comes to overlays

@schumaclerc - the stuff he does with colouring is incredible

@leqclerc - some incredibly smooth work and the way they specifically are able to make red pop is incredible

@callumilott - the graphics work she does with her gifs is absolutely insane and so rad to see

I love your gifwork so much cuz it’s all such good quality in terms of clarity (going fullscreen with your gifs is so nice because they’re never pixelly/crunchy, they’re perfect!) and also like… your scene selection, for lack of a better word?? Your plethora of little- to rarely-giffed scenes/shots are so nice to look through! Sometimes I get so sick of seeing the same 5 shots giffed by everyone else but then here’s your page with like 20+ different ones to look at per movie/show like hell YEAAA!! Collage gif

The inspiration for this collage came from me thinking of the ways we can explore layers with our senses. For example, eyes are typically the first thing to catch texture, tracing the layers in order to take in it’s complexity. From here we can bring our touch into the picture to further gather information upon the item. Other layers can be picked up by the nose and mouth, since a multitude of tastes and smells can combine, accumulating to something new and dense for our sense to digest.

I’d like there to be a hint towards this in a good amount of my pieces, as I think the ways in which we pick up on layers are just as important as the layering itself. Like the evolution of layers I want my work to be a growth which the viewer can peel back and dissect each of the details.

Gifwork is something I have only briefly dabbled in before, though I would like to go into it more. I like how this one came out, though it is very basic since it was for exploration purpose only. To develop this further I would like to take these collages into other methods I use, for example screen printing, which is also a new media I haven’t tried before, but find the layering of the inks curious.
