Care to rant about Marlique and how they’re soulmates? I love how Marley never misgendered Unique, and the one time she did, she immediately apologized and never did it again

I've actually been thinking about Marlique recently and how they're SUCH a precious relationship. I'm not too big on shipping them romantically, not because I don't think that's viable (and fits with how I HC their identities) but because I personally treasure their friendship so so much. They are indeed soulmates! Platonic in my interpretation but that doesn't make them any less important.

I think it's neat that Marley didn't get it instantly right but the second Unique indicated how she identified and was to be addressed Marley didn't hesitate. There was respect there from the very first moment. And you know, I complain a lot about people shitting on Marley because I don't think she was nearly as "meek" as they make her out to be. And that's doubly true when it came to Unique because Marley was ready to throw hands when people came for her bestie. She stood her ground against Sue and never hesitated to make sure Unique was included and safe. Let me cry in the corner about it.

Make no mistake, that's not to say we should appreciate the cis protector the most in a trans woman's story. It's just that Marley's protectiveness shined the most with Unique and that's so important, and Unique was equally ready to be there for Marley. They've been looking out for each other from day one and not just because the new girls stick together but because they were actual underdogs with kind hearts. And they stuck up for each other in situations where they wouldn't have done the same for themselves. That's what grabs me the most about Marlique, I think. That Unique lets a lot of bigotry slide because that's just everyday life for her, unfortunately, and she's learned to let it go. That Marley, while not meek, does let people treat her so much worse than what she deserves. But when it comes to their friends, when it comes to each other, they're fierce protectors in the face of bigotry and manipulation.

That's what makes them soulmates for me. In a way, they both unlock a kind of confidence and self-love in each other that no one else could have. Because of this readiness to protect one another, they also grew and were more and more able to protect themselves. I think that's beautiful, and I'm so so happy we had this strong friendship between gals at least, if all the others had to be overshadowed by a less than pleasant aspect. They were much more lowkey than they deserved to be but they consistently had each other's backs. My only major note would be having Unique be involved in Marley's ED storyline but that whole thing was such a mess, maybe it's good we didn't spend more time on it.

I think this point got a little lost amid the general fandom glee at Dominique and Vanitas bonding (or at least it did for me), but looking back at chapter 60, the implications that this scene has for Vanitas are fucking wild.

It's not the only aspect of her relationship with him, but a huge cornerstone of Dominique's feelings toward Noé is the fact of her absolutely massive crush on him. Like, as much as she's venting about how he frustrates her, Dominique's thoughts on Noé in this scene are the thoughts of a woman that is canonically in love with him. And Vanitas apparently thinks/feels the exact same way.

As their shared venting reaches its fever pitch, Vanitas and Dominique both reach the exact same ending point. Noé is stubborn and overly straightforward and unrelenting, and both of them feel helpless against it. And they say as much!

They say as much, and then they both cut themselves off and flinch away in the exact same way, as though they've said too much. They've revealed some deeper truth about their feelings and the ways that Noé's force of personality affects them.

Dominique reacts this way presumably because she touched a little too close to the reality of her romantic feelings for him. The thing cut off at the end of "Since he's like that, I—" is some expression of the depths of her incredible fondness for and attraction to him. And Vanitas apparently feels the exact same way as Dominique. He expresses almost the exact same outward sentiment and catches himself and flinches in the exact same way. So if Dominique is speaking here in (albeit frustrated) love, then what emotions is Vanitas speaking from?

I've fallen into a Glee black hole this past couple of weeks - I'm talking listening to the songs, youtube videos, fanfics, interviews, the whole nine yards (except watching the episodes again because I just can't ok?).

But the thing is that as the seasons go by you can see the relationship between the characters get affected by the interpersonal relationships between the actors. Like the roll of eyes, or just some faces that you can tell were not scripted.

So considering this, and the fact that I saw at least 3 interviews with Kevin and Jenna complaining about everything Glee (they are effing hilarious btw), I hope that at some point - when we are all old and wrinkly and Glee is a thing in the past- we get a book or something with all the juicy details... or I could also go for dinner with Kevin and Jenna.

Point in case, these are some of the questions I want answers to:

1- Did everyone hate Lea from the beginning or did the thing go down after seasons 3-4?

2- Why did Dianna leave after season 3? And I don't want the PR answer.

3- Please, explain the whole Glee Concert debacle about Dianna's t-shirt and also, what the hell was going on during Somebody to Love?

4- I want to go over all the interviews from the Glee concert era and have someone explain to me what the hell was happening because there is so much going on in those things lol

5- How drunk were all of them during the Golden Globes?

6- Did Dianna take Jack Nicholson's water bottle?

7- Were there any relationships that would completely destroy the internet if everyone found out?

8- Was "the contract" real? (if you know, you know)

9- So during this interview with Jenna, Kevin, Heather, and Naya, they are asked to write down the messiest things of Glee and Kevin asks if in the series or in real life. They give the answer for the series, but I've been dying since then for the other answer. I want to know the messiest irl-thing that happened during Glee.

10- I will probably add more to this as I think them through :)

Can we talk about the fact that Santana bought custom made bibs for herself and Mercedes? That dummy lmao whether she actually bought them or not the mere fact that this is something that would even come to her mind is hysterical

Why of course we can, Sancedes my beloved.

I 100% believe she did buy the bibs. This is the same girl who made a voodoo doll of Rachel because she was pissed at her lol. Say what you will about Santana but she doesn't half ass things.

I very much consider Duets to be the beginning of a true Sancedes friendship, bibs and all. In my HC, Mercedes sees how much Santana wanted the win and invites her to Breadstix regardless of not having won and they use the ridiculous custom-made bibs. And thus the episode starts with "we hate each other" (which is already dubious imo) and ends with what is the start of a legendary Sancedes friendship.

I wish they’d shown us more of Blaine and Sebastian’s friendship in glee so that the betrayal in the Michael episode hurt more or was more unexpected. Idk I feel like friendship is something that glee should’ve focused on more overall, but I’ve been thinking about this specifically and how it would’ve been great if the viewer would’ve been shocked by it was well because we knew that Blaine and Seb actually were friends….
