Note
I can't remember if I've asked you this already or someone else has if so I'm sorry. I'm looking for some anime to watch and wondered if you could reccomend me some of your faves.
Hoo boy, that’s a seriously long list 😂 (please make sure to check them all out if you have any triggers, because some of these are pretty messed up).
One Piece - all time favourite, could not recommend it enough (but be aware you’d have over 1K episodes to catch up on lol).
Fairy Tail - it’s a walking cliché of fanservice and friendship, but by god I love it (also Natsu/Lucy is my all time favourite ship).
Gintama - so weird, so crude, so funny, it’s a comedy/parody anime that may confuse and baffle at times, but a lot of the bigger arcs that follow a linear plot are so good.
Full Metal Alchemist(: Brotherhood) - I’ve watched both versions and Brotherhood was imo superior, but the 2003 version doesn’t slack, so if you’re willing I’d give them both a try (can never get enough FMA is what I’m saying).
Wolf’s Rain - my first anime and the one that led me into the rabbit hole, kind of surprising because I was like 10/11 and this shit was deep.
Bleach - okay, I have a real love/hate with Bleach but you can’t go wrong with everything up to the end of the Soul Society Arc, after that I will take no responsibility lol.
Jujutsu Kaisen - if you haven’t watched this (or read it), you need to go do that now.
Hunter x Hunter - top tier anime, it’s as popular as it is for a reason. The Chimera Ant Arc…yeahhh.
Bungou Stray Dogs - I binge watched every season without issue, kept my focus pretty much the whole time.
Blue Exorcist - many peoples gateway anime, it’s fun, it’s angsty, and it’s not a good idea to trust your favs.
Banana Fish - this fucking manga/anime…(please be warned that there are a lot of triggering scenes and topics involved).
Nanbaka - another parody/comedy anime that smacks you with the feels, seriously it’s a good one.
Akatsuki no Yona - look everyone is really pretty, I want to marry my own Hak, and Yona is a bad bitch (although don’t listen to people screaming about character development, there wasn’t actually a lot lol).
I gave up with the descriptions because I have no patience, but here’s a list to keep you busy for a while (this is more of list that I’ve watched, but I’ll bold the ones that I really enjoyed):
K Project
Kamisama Kiss
Amagi Brilliant Park
Cowboy Bebop
Naruto (could not recommend Boruto less if I tried though)

Haikyuu Characters & Manga/Anime They Enjoy
Disclaimer: Keep in mind that this is just my humble opinion, and it’s based on anime & manga I’ve seen or am familiar with (which to be honest is probably not a whole super lot?). I had so much fun thinking about this!! There’s no rhyme or reason to this other than that they popped into my head :3
This isn’t a normal posting day or a normal type of post but it was a fun little thing that came to me and was easy to throw together. I know Inarizaki is missing but it was getting long! Also I know I missed so many different ones ;-;
Tumblr media
Sugawara Koushi — Maybe a weird hc but I can see him being super into BNHA and going absolutely FERAL whenever intense stuff is going down and he has to wait for the next chapter. He’s typically more of a casual fan though.
Tsukishima Kei — He was super into Naruto as a kid, he went as a leaf shinobi for Halloween one year (Kakashi). Yams and Akiteru are forbidden to speak of it but the photos make excellent blackmail. Has read Death Note multiple times.
Yachi Hitoka — She definitely watches a lot of the more slice of life / feel-good stuff like Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun. She s o b b e d watching Your Lie in April. Also has absolutely watched Free! for the plot.
Hanamaki Takahiro — Had a Yu Gi Oh phase. Still lowkey in his Pokemon phase. Is weirdly obsessed with Food Wars.
Yahaba Shigeru — I can’t explain it but I feel it in my bones that he’s a Fairy Tail guy. Came for Lucy’s boobs, stayed for the Friendship™
Kunimi Akira — Tends toward the ones like Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, Death Note, Kimetsu no Yaiba, etc. (is this even a coherent category? Idk probably not) Also watches Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood like once a year.
Kuroo Tetsurou — DR STONE omg please I just started reading this and I feel like it’s so up his alley. Probably watched the normal stuff like Naruto, Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, etc as a kid.
Kozume Kenma — Watches a very wide variety of anime, not super huge into reading manga though. He’s kind of a casual fan of a lot of different ones, like Hunter x Hunter, BNHA, Bleach, Naruto, etc, doesn’t like to invest time into the shorter ones with only a few eps. If he’s playing something more casual like Minecraft or Animal Crossing he probably has anime on in the background.
Inuoka Sou — A very big Shonen fan - Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, BNHA, One Piece, Soul Eater, very typical. Has a few posters in his room.
Bokuto Koutarou — Definitely also watched the typical stuff like Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh as a kid. Still has his Squirtle key-chain. Doesn’t have much time for it these days but is very nostalgic for the stuff he watched when he was younger. No way his sisters did NOT make him watch Sailor Moon
Akaashi Keiji — Likes to read a few chapters of something to unwind a bit before bed. He enjoys less serious things like Assassination Classroom for this reason, but also finally finished Naruto Shippuden after picking it up again. Kuroo recced him Dr Stone and he won’t admit how much he likes it.
Ushijima Wakatoshi — Has consumed a lot of anime by osmosis because Tendou made him watch it. Isn’t really a huge fan of any one thing though he does recognize a crazy amount of different characters because of this.
Tendou Satori — Okay, he’s a Jump fan & we know this. He’s caught up on the majority of what’s popular like BNHA, AOT/SNK, KNY, etc. Is in a losing battle with One Piece bc it’s too darn long. I don’t think I need to say much more bc it’s already canon.

Introduction Time!
Hello world of Tumblr. Thank you for wondering onto our humble blog. We are just here for a simple reason; that being to post our art, writings, scribbles, thoughts and ideas. These things will center about the current world of pop culture, anime, books, television and movies.
So as we get started let us introduce ourselves!
I'll start us off. I just want to begin with putting the basics:
I go by: Slowbito on most social media's, my official name is Ed or Eddward.
Here's a list of the things I've watched, *for favorites
Animes- Naruto*, Bleach*, Full Metal Alchemist*, Hellsing*, Attack on Titan, Cowboy Bebop*, Samuria Jack, Pokemon*, My Hero Acedamia*, Fairy Tale, Hunter x Hunter*, Avatar the Last Airbender*, Dragon Ball Z, Death Note, Fooley Cooley*, Inuyasha*, Sailor Moon, Black Lagoon, Black Blood Brothers, Trigun, Ghost in the Shell*, Tokyo Ghoul, Sword Art Online, xxxHolic, Wolf’s Rain*
Currently watching: Fairy Tale (restarted from beginning, trying to keep interest) and HxH (that I have almost completed and really putting off because I know it isn't complete T-T) and about to start Demon Slayer and The Rising of the Shield Hero
T.V- Shameless*, Lucifer*, Rick and Morty*, House M.D*, Disenchantment*, The Office*, The Handmaids Tale, The Walking Dead, Bojack Horseman, Big Mouth, Adventure Time*, Stranger Things*, Modern Family, American Horror Story*, The Good Place, Regular Show, The Simpsons, Family Guy*, American Dad, South Park, Bob's Burgers*, The Venture Bros, Drake and Josh*, iCarly, Victorious (though some of these are animated, I put them in this catagory because I don't think they are meant for young children)
Currently watching: Shameless, Bojack Horseman, American Horror Story, The Handmaids Tale, The Good Place
Cartoons: Spongebob*, Lilo and Stitch*,Gravity Falls, Steven Universe*, The Amazing World of Gumball, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Tom and Jerry, Courage the Cowardly Dog*, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Rugrats*, Dexter's Lab, Teen Titians*, Power Puff Girls, Cow and Chicken, Scooby Doo*, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends*, Chowder, Looney Toons*, Kim Possible*, Lizzie McGuire*, The Proud Family*, Wizards of Waverly Place, Even Steven*, Jake Long, Recess, Brandy and Mister Whiskers, Jessie, Phineas and Ferb
Currently watching: Spongebob, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, wanting to watch We Bare Bears, Over the Garden Walls
Movies: Spirited Away*, Howl's Moving Castle (Anything Studio Ghibli) Lion King, Robin Hood, The Nightmare Before Christmas*, The Corps Bride* (Anything Tim Burton and Disney), Shrek* (Anything Dreamworks), Harry Potter*, Avengers series and indiviual movies*, Forrest Gump, E.T, The Hobbit* (animated and live action), Shawshank Redemption, Slingblade*, Back to the Future*, Jurassic Park*, The Wizard of Oz, Rocky series, Terminator series, 50 First Dates, Marley and Me, Grown Ups, 300, American Pie, Matrix*, Hellboy series*, Toy Story's (Anything Pixar), Avatar, Men In Black, Joker*, Dark Night/Batman series, Fast and Furious
So basically I've seen a good mix of things. I love animated things, anything that is funny, stupid, or has a good story. I grew up on Disney, Cartoon Network (Adult Swim), and Nickelodeon. I didn't have cable so a lot of what I watched was on the weekends at my nana's or when we would record tapes and brought them home. We owned so many movies, and honestly I'll never grow up so anything meant for kids, I probably have seen or currently watch. If it's even somewhat popular or trendy then I try it out and see if I like it. Even with some of these I watched I didn't like them all (I know, shame on me).
I'll give you the basics of me, as best I can. I am opinionated, but not really into politics. I never really grew out of my childhood, I am easily entertained, meme's are a simple joy of mine, and I love to watch old vines. I was introduced to YouTube by Oni, and she started me off with the best: NigaHiga, = 3 (Ray William Johnson), Anna Akana, and eventually Markiplier, and so on I grew my own likes; VizziePop, Collegehumor, Buzzfeed, Pewdiepie, Boyinaband, Prince E, TheOdd1sout, Jaiden Animation (Oni's find), FailArmy, so on and so forth. I like astrology, and my sign is Tauras. I loves food, cooking and baking is a side hobby, and I'm into all the nerdy stuff like reading, drawing, role play, and gaming.
Alright, now I will leave some links to some profiles of mine below and will leave it all to my partner!

Sup, Tumblr. This is my intro post.
I’ll be simplifying myself to the fundamentals:

Cartoons:  Rick and Morty* Family Guy*, American Dad, South Park, The Boondocks (P.S I just hate most cartoons/Kid Shows from Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Fight me)

So I share a lot of things with my partner and some things I don’t. Everything in the lists above I generally like.
Now time to get to the basics of what makes me, me.
Here is that list of things: Oxygen 65% Carbon 18% Hydrogen 9.5% Nitrogen 3.2% Calcium 1.5% Phosphorus 1.2% Potassium 0.4 Sulfur 0.2 Sodium 0.2 Chlorine 0.2 Magnesium 0.1 Other >1%
So i hope that helped you get a better understanding of me.
Last but not least my social media handles! I hope you check my teammates as well!

For the Calendar Ask Meme: April 31st!!
April: anime recs. Well, i don't really watch a lot of anime, but obviously there's naruto. Then I'd have to say InuYasha - its an oldie, but its still good. Death note; Yu-Gi-Oh (also an oldie but I used to love that show); Bleach; and Sailor moonHeres a list of animes that I still haven't watched (but I'm going to!) that I'd also recommend: Full metal alchemist/full metal alchemist brotherhood; little witch academia; your lie in April; hunter x hunter; fairytale; seven deadly sins; soul eater; durarara; mushi-shi; and kill la kill. All of those can be found on Netflix.31st: what's on my mind right now?I'm wondering where my brother is because he said he'd be home in the morning and its already 1:45 pm. Also that my hair is really soft because I just dyed it blue a couple days ago(/ Thank you so much for asking me this! I love doing things like this and now that I finally have someone to ask them, I'm excited lol I hope you have a good day! /)

Ajin is so great wtf! (no spoilers, no worries ) ALSO, lots of other anime recs mentioned
I started watching an anime last night that @danisnotonfire and @amazingphil keep mentioning especially in their liveshows -- Ajin. I think I thought it was something completely different, like a continuation of another series or something. But I was bored last night and saw it on Netflix so gave it a go.
What the actual fuck, guys! This series is AWESOME so far!!
It actually gives me a lot of Tokyo Ghoul vibes, and from what I can see they first started serialization as manga about a year apart, with Tokyo Ghoul first. But Ajin feels sort of like, if Tokyo Ghoul had focused on the start of all the craziness in Tokyo instead of after there was the full formation of their law enforcement crews and etc etc.
The designs have sort of similar vibes too, from the elite dude in LE to the MC to the MC’s childhood best friend who I also wish was in the series more just like in Tokyo Ghoul, but the personalities aren’t all the same.
I’m not finished with what’s out of Ajin in anime yet--just finished the first season last night, saw the first ep of season 2 this morning, will have to wait till after work to watch the rest this week. So I probably will avoid tumblr for a bit just to avoid spoilers until I’m up to date on the anime at least. Also, I see there are 9 volumes of manga so I’ll probably read the manga too if I continue to like the anime.
I’m feeling about Ajin so far the way I first felt about Tokyo Ghoul -- that I really like it, although sometimes the government or LE make really weird decisions as if it’s to make sure the MCs win, but imo the bad guy in Ajin is way cooler than TG. He’s way more intelligent about the way he’s systematically dismantling shit. Actually, the way social media is integrated into Ajin reminds me a bit of Zankyou no Terror which I ALSO really loved the fuck out of in the beginning but the fucking ending of that and the choice to MC that stupid ass girl totally ruined the series for me.
Also, while I loved the hell out of Tokyo Ghoul, I’ve so far been largely disappointed by Tokyo Ghoul:re (so much so that I stopped reading the manga months ago but I plan to give it another go soon).
So right now, Ajin is reflecting the love I had for Tokyo Ghoul and Zankyou no Terror, but has yet to disappoint me like both of those did. I hope that continues going forward because wow would it be nice to finish an anime series or continue a manga series with as much love as I started it lol
Anyway, Dan and Phil--you guys give good anime recs! (More about their other recs behind the cut)
I also watched Magi after you kept talking about it, even though I’d tried reading the manga years earlier and didn’t like it. But then I gave it another go and now I fucking love that series. Alibaba is the actual fucking best and has become one of my favorite anime characters, period. I’m a few chapters behind on that one because I think the series is ending soon and I kind of wanted to read it all at once, but we’ll see.
Also, I know I’ve watched or heard of a number of the other ones Dan has mentioned in his anime recs. And for the most part, I also have liked or even loved those. Dan’s videos are: Anime Will Ruin Your Life, Dan’s Anime Recs, and Dan’s Anime Recs #2. Also here’s Phil’s video where Dan and Phil cosplay.
The main place where we differ is I didn’t much like Erased (can’t fully recall why), Sword Art Online I gave a go for an episode but didn’t get into it (but this may be a generational thing; I have been into anime like 13 years longer than Dan so I think it’s just that SAO feels like a really new concept if they haven’t seen the 10,000 anime like it I watched ages ago, but it ALSO may be that maybe it gets way better later and I just didn’t give it a good enough chance), and.... that’s actually it. All the other ones he lists I either love, really like, thought was cool, or haven’t seen yet.
Honorable mentions:
I started Haikyuu!! because they mentioned it and OH MY FUCKING GOD THANK YOU DAN AND PHIL.
Chihayafuru--my friend recced this separately to me, said it was one of her favorite series ever. I did start watching it and liked it, I stopped it because idk I just took a break, it’s a bit slower moving of a story than I usually do. BUT it’s good!
Madoka Magica, Soul Eater (the bit I’ve read), Black Butler, Death Note, Free!, these are all good.
Neon Genesis Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop are classics. If you haven’t watched them you have to! Kaworu all the fucking way in Eva <3333333, and Cowboy Bebop is just all around incredible.
Tokyo Ghoul I watched on my own before they recced it --like I said, I liked that too; Tokyo Ghoul imo is super good, it’s just :re that’s meh. Your Lie in April is really good for the most part (although a relationship thing of it bugged me because I knew from the start what was going on, not because spoilers but because it was obvious to me, so that kind of ruined the story a little because I think it was meant to be a plot twist, BUT it’s still quite beautiful and moving)-- Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is fucking incredible and if you haven’t seen that WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE. Magi is awesome. I started reading Parasyte because I got the first volume in the $1 bargain box at rightstufanime. I have Stein’s Gate but haven’t watched it yet.
Attack on Titan was one I was suuuuuper into when I first started reading it/watching it when it first came out but then idk. I got caught up to the manga, had to wait for chapters, the art quality deteriorated/changed, I didn’t like most of the characters and the one I did like kind of wasn’t around as much, so I lost my love of that series. I’ll probably watch the anime sometime to see what happens because the anime is much more well done than the manga, in a shocking turn of events that’s contrary to usual.
Fruits Basket is another classic and IT’S SO FUCKING CUTE AND GOOD, if you haven’t seen that WHAT ALSO ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE.
re:ZERO I’d found on my own and I loved it. I agree with Dan on having that as a rec. It’s very interesting.
Yuri on Ice I feel pretty meh about. I know everyone thinks it’s the best thing ever but I think it’s really poorly written and I don’t really care too much about the characters. idk if I’ll even bother watching season 2. We’ll see. I kind of don’t like any of the relationships tbh. Not really a fan of the two MCs.
Hunter x Hunter ... I think it’s good through the Yorknew City arc, and I love the FUCK out of Kurapika as a character just generally in anime/manga ever, but I don’t really like the series after that. I am behind on the latest chapters. I tried reading it when the new ones came out after the hiatus but I was kind of turned off by the first 2 chapters and set it aside. Eventually I’ll continue that again.
The rest of the ones Dan has mentioned, I have yet to see but I think I’ve heard a number of them before on other recs.
You should watch his videos for more information on those anime, also you can get a free trial at Crunchyroll using their codes if you need it. tbh I did eventually buy Crunchyroll so I can watch anime on my roku and I’m really happy with this decision. I will continue to pay for it because it’s super nice--even just in watching One Piece for the 10,000th time with my friend.
That became way more rambling/in depth than I planned lol I was just gonna be like “LOLZ AJIN = GOOD SO FAR WOW! :D” but then I wanted to link Dan’s vids and basically say that I do think you should listen to Dan and Phil’s recs. So far they seem like they have really good taste in anime.
And that’s coming from a 33 year old who’s been watching anime/reading manga since 13/14, and has seen/read a shit ton of series over that time. I’m pretty critical of series by now. And for the most part, Dan and Phil have been recommending genuinely awesome series. And I’ve found new series I wouldn’t have watched without them so I’m really happy.
Anyway those are my thoughts! I’m excited to watch more Ajin when I get back from work today! PLEASE DON’T LET ME DOWN AJIN T_T
