I was tagged by @lynne-monstr. and @ladymatt, so here goes! I'm just gonna pick the last 20 fics I posted to ao3, regardless of completion status.

1. Talking With Strangers (Shadowhunters, malec, university AU w/ marriage of convenience and an approximate fuckton of pining)

On the day that is going to define the rest of his life, Alec jerks awake to the gentle chiming of his phone and proceeds to fall off the couch.

2. The Stair Into the Sea (SH, malec, The Lighthouse Fic, i.e. the magnum opus, a magical realism au with a haunted seaside village and a fraught summer romance) [NSFW in chapter 10]

Magnus stepped off the coach onto the grizzled asphalt of the tiny bus station and thought, not for the first time, You're out of your head, Bane. And the next bus service out of this place is the day after tomorrow.

3. The Underwater Heart (SH, malec, fairytale AU w/ a soulbond twist)

Far across the ocean, in a kingdom whose name is lost to time, there lived a young prince.

On his thirtieth day as a lightkeeper, Alec woke to find a girl in the parking lot.

The first frost of autumn surprises Alec on the road. The forest pond near which he camped is covered in glittering rime so fine that it melts at a brush of his fingers. Horse stamps and snorts on her tether, her breath forming clouds in the dagger-sharp dawn air.

The front door sounds just as Alec is staring, with semi-religious fervor, at the final stages of his baking experiment in the oven.

Magnus breaks gently from Alec's grip, muttering about the time and feeling drowsy.

There is a sense of wrongness in Magnus's mind like a splinter dug into flesh.

20. bodies full of untold stories (SH, malec, canon-verse case fic w/ accidental soul bond set in early season 3, Magnus & Alec (& Izzy) solve the mystery of a potion gone wrong) [last chapter is NSFW]

It happened on an ordinary Thursday.

So. I cheated slightly by quoting the whole opening paragraph for each story. In most cases, that is a single sentence. This tells me I like to find a short and distinctive opening line (and sometimes I can spend days looking for the right one; the rest of the fic is basically there but if I don’t know where to start I cannot get to it).

I like to start with an emotion or a specific image. Usually I’ll use the opening line to showcase that emotion/image and then start on the wider context in the next paragraph. #20 is a good example of that: the “ordinary Thursday” stands lonesome as its own paragraph, and the next sentence expands on Magnus at his potion experiment. #12 and #14 also fall into this category.

Also, I should never again start a fic with Alec waking up. That is clearly a thing I do too much. xD

I can’t pick one favourite, but right now I really like opening lines #1, #4 and #11. They’re snappy and evocative and also set the tone of the fic nicely.

A small group of Autobot and neutral scientists land on a planet to investigate weird energy readings. Unfortunately for them, it turns out the Decpticons got there first.

The Last Unicorn AU:

Wels is the Last Unicorn. That's it, that's the AU.

Currently no plans to flesh this one out or continue it

SpiderCleo- Superhero AU (City of Lies):

Cleo co-owns a research company with her friend Carol when an attack on one of their labs leaves Cleo with super powers and a thirst for vengeance.

Eventual ship Cleo/Tango, Evil X and Xisuma are siblings, ZIT friendship + Zedaph/Evil X former friendship(?)

Major character death, coercion, lying, betrayal, illness, kidnapping, the whole 9 yards. Dark overall. Is this angst?

Plot defined and the story is currently being rewritten (half why through ch 1). I started it with a vignette style practice and tried to keep the same style, but it turned out terrible

Builder/Redstoner Society Separation AU (Hew this Hedge):

Cub, a redstoner from Hermiton, goes on a hiatus for inspiration and to relax a bit. There, he meets a stranger he's instantly charmed by. The two are on the fast track to being best friends until Cub realizes something about his new friend: he's a builder.

Cub & Scar friendship, Ren and Doc friendship, former Joe and Xisuma friendship that sorta gets fixed

People are hostile to each other based on tribalism BS. Heavy on the imagery, was a writing style test.

Chapter 1 published, chapter 2 in progress. Plot 3/4 defined. Ch 1 turned out so well I'm honestly afraid to finish ch 2, I feel like it won't measure up.

Creature/Mob Hermits except Etho AU:

Etho is a human who is impossibly good at anything he sets his mind to. He meets and befriends a creeper hybrid in the dark woods, setting off a chain of events where he ends up being the only human in a team of extraordinary beings setting out to build a new civilization. No big deal, except that it's supposed to be a human-free civilization. Cue shenanigans and Doc's an awful liar

Draft in progress, plot loosely conceptualized (so relationships and warnings and notes not decided). I want this to be comedy but I am not good at comedy

Watchers are Gods AU (Records of Xelqua):

Grian hears someone mention Xelqua, his watcher name, and decides he ought to tell Xisuma about the watcher's structures in order to better protect the server. Xisuma, who is religious, asks Grian to talk about his experiences with the watchers after the builder reveals that he's a former evolutionist

Religion and dealing with the aftermath of events. Inspired by For the Record on AO3.

Beginning and end written but not published, working on the middle portion now. Watchers are Gods Part II- Joe is Herobrine is something I have concepts for as well

Ice Age Time Travel AU:

While filming an anthropology documentary a group of scientists, some cameramen, and a few of the local peoples get flung back in time to the ice age. Luckily for them, the locals several thousand years in the past are fairly friendly, even if they're in the middle of a societal conflict that's slowly tearing their band apart.

Xisuma and Evil X will be brothers. Plot is semi defined, so other details and relationships unknown.

There is a language barrier that won't be crossed so POV and details will be critical

When Pearl agrees to join Hermitcraft, she does so without knowing one major detail: The hermits are the watchers

Iskall is actually the 85th, TFC literally just started existing and began digging, Xisuma never wanted to be an admin, Tango and Impulse didn't start off on the right foot with Zedaph, etc.

MYTC SMPs- Mojang Apartments AU:

Gem moves to a new apartment complex. She and her neighbor Pearl get to witness all sorts of things, from the concerning (the nightly explosions in the Scicraft building) to the odd (was that a giant moth kite on the Dream SMP building roof?) to the humorous (how exactly did Zedaph get permission to house so many pink sheep in the city limits?). Intended to be a slice of life style concept

Gem and Pearl friendship, no other relationships defined

No plot in mind, more like unconnected one shots?

They live between the Hermit and Empires buildings. Jeb owns the everything. There are also Legacy and Totally Bedrock buildings in the complex (maybe an abandon or old Mindcrack building?)

I´ve finished The Owl House recently and I´m just amazed by the show in all its aspects, especially the plot and the designs. Even though the very known Disney´s touch is there, it is placed so smoothly along with the story that makes the show really refreshing to watch.

But as any cartoon trope, I bet my right hand there will be this prom episode where all the characters will get a new, formal outfit that will make the fandom go YEAH

… But this episode is not here yet, and probably will take some time to be, and since hiatus is taking so long… I took the creative liberty to illustrate some of my expectations.

Sooo, Ta-dã !

It took longer than I´ve expected it to,

Here it goes the thoughts I´ve put in every piece!

Willow: yes, I just couldn´t resist the urge to relate her outfit with the tree that is behind her name, and c´mon, you know the creators also have this association in mind. It just fits. The little details on her dress are the flowers from the willow tree, and I wanted to resemble the “wavy strips” shape of leaves in someplace - first I thought about making her dress in this shape, but I wasn´t finding a way to make it right. So I added this detail to her earing, since making the reference more subtle felt like a better reward to give the public once they notice the design´s purpose (hope it made sense)

Gus: our gold boi is an illusionist and a human enthusiast, and I wanted to make both of those traits show off. So, which iconic human being we have that also practiced the art of illusion? If you said Houdini, you´ve read my mind. I based Gus´ suit on the one Houdini used to wear a lot *according to google* and made the little bow tie as a reminder of his coven (not that we needed a remind for that but yeah); And what about the hat? I took the liberty to make it a headcanon that, in one of Owlbert trash raids to the human world, there was this sympathetic top hat laying around and, as Luz knew how much Gus liked human stuff (and wanted him to be more assertive about stuff´s finalities), she gave it to him. And I´m sure you can imagine his enthusiasm, and how forward he was looking to properly use the “artifact” as a human would (even if it´s all beat up!) Besides, the hat was made for a head way bigger than his, so it keeps falling into him and he has to stand funny in order to keep it in place

Luz: Luz is “light” in Spanish/Portuguese, her light spell has this yellowish color so there wasn´t much stress to pick the primal color (picking the right variations in the other hand…that was sort of stressing). For her dress model, I wanted something that expressed her buoyant personality, but still “serious” enough to attend a formal event. So, I made it like a sundress and added some layers of details, as the sleeves and the semi-transparent cloth over the dress´s hem. Also, I “tamed” her hair a bit so it wouldn´t just be the same she uses every day, with this one rebellious lock of hair at the back which refuses to stay put along with the others.

Luz appears to me as someone who would love to wear super extra outfits for cosplay purposes, but being conscious about her clumsy self, she would rather stick with something simple enough to move freely (and fast) if the situation requires it - especially because it would be her first prom out of the human world (maybe her first prom in life?) so it would be nice to avoid any unnecessary awkward scenarios - which we all know are totally going to happen. Thus, I thought about adding some glitter to it, but I saved the sparkles for someone else...

Amity: OH I HAD SO MUCH FUN DOING THIS ONE. Amity (spoiler alert) is a big fan of Azura´s books, just like Luz, and it is pretty clear she inspires herself a lot on the character - her dyed hair, the drawing of herself wearing Azura´s clothes on her diary´s cover - SO based on that sweet info it wouldn´t be a surprise if she coded Azura´s dress in her own. I made her dress a plain white (like Azura´s) but, to resemble Amity social status (da gurl is rich) gave it an “elegant” cut, with the purple, shining and very-expensive looking silk falling upon it to give life to the outfit (and they also translates as the shoulder parts of Azura´s dress). Her earing stands for Azura´s chest star, and I played a “half-fancy” hairstyle to complement. (I don´t like to have favorites, but this one is definitely one)

King: the king of demons claims he´s a naturalist and has concrete displeasure to wear clothes. So little cute smokes were out. But as a king, and with his obnoxious personality, he would definitely want to dress as fancy as everyone else, with the little of “dressing” as possible, get it? I know that adding a bow tie to him isn´t the most creative of looks, but the filling is in the headcanon I (once again) took the liberty to make: King wanted to feel fancy, but he wouldn´t dress a suit, and he refused to go without anything. This led everyone on the house to search for something that King could wear, which resulted in Eda finding some old holiday ornaments boxed in a dark corner of the attic; Among those, there were many red bows of different sizes from where King picked the biggest one - which was meant for Hooty, since it was a door ornament - and a smaller one for the tail, as the final detail. He also gave Hooty one of the bows, a really small one, just to say he gave the owl something.

Eda: I must confess, Eda outfit was the trigger of this whole thing lol. I was scrolling through Pinterest and BAM this look appeared and my mind instantly associated it with the Owl Lady. I just really wanted to draw her in this look because it is so her. She´s the elegant foxy aunt of the party who put candies in her bag and sneakily takes all the table decorations home (especially the shiny ones!). She received Principal´s authorization to attend the prom with no risks of being arrested, as a treat for her good choice of enrolling Luz there, which is the only reason she´s so proudly showing off who she is (I´m talking about the necklace, if you´re wondering). Plus, her hair up was so fun to make? I´m 100% ready to see it canon

PSA ;; Blog Activity

So after some thought, I’ve decided that Felix will be a lower priority for a while. I just feel the spark for him is fizzled for the moment. I will still use this as a hub for conversation and other things. Idk, ever since my first blog got wrongfully deleted by tumblr, it’s been hard to pull myself back up. So for now, he’ll be only a semi-active muse for me. I ADORE Felix a lot, but I just can’t seem to get the muse to cooperate.

So the blog activity over all my blogs will be as followed.

Brad: @orangewcrld / Semi-Active ; Literally one of my most prominent muses, but gets hardly any threads, sadly.

RT Multi: @ofroosterteeth / Active! (bordering semi) ; I have a LOT of RT muse lately, but the fandom is kind of slow or lacking. But this blog will be alive.

Aiden: @cfstardust / Revamping / Semi-active ; Going to see how well this goes. OCs are hard to play with tbh. They get very little love I’ve come to realize.

Jack: @irishgamcr / HIATUS ; As much as I want to be active on my blog, my moods don’t match up for writing Sean at this moment.

Supernatural Multi: @saltsandburns / Semi-Active ; Still doing some rewatch, so it’s gonna be a bit harder to get those muses up.

Blogs that are in deliberation status: @nctapsychic (rewatching Psych atm so we’ll see), @abyssmade (this will take a lot of work to revamp), @scariingcrows (Because I fucking miss Crane but idek how to get this blog rolling again.)

♦ Hi! It’s been a little while, hasn’t it!

♦ TL:DR; I’d like to start things up on Underfade soon, ideally sometime during the very end of the year or within the beginning of next year! My other blogs, such as Fadedtale, Fuwaribi and similarly, will continue to be on hiatus.

♦ But while we’re not back in action quite yet, but I’d love to give you all a status report and ramble a bit, if you guys have the time to spare!:

-- UNDERFADE/FADEDTALE RELATED --

❥ What’s going on with your AUs? Are you going to be reviving them?

♦ I’d love to revive them, and I’m very much planning to do so!! I’m hoping I can get back to doing Sunday updates in very late December/early January, life permitting!

Of course, I need to add that I’ll be concentrating on Underfade first and foremost before doing anything else. Fadedtale, Fuwaribi and similar blogs of the past and future will be placed on hold until I’ve gotten far enough with Underfade. But with that said...

❥ What’s happening with Underfade?

♦ I’d like to get past the RUINS arc (finally, am I right?) before finally changing Underfade’s name.

That’s right: Underfade, as an AU name, is officially old news! It was a funny name at first, as my lack of English comprehension never knew that underfades were a hairstyle, but now I don’t think it quite translates what I want from this AU. Once the RUINS arc is over, I’d like to kick off things really going downhill for our main character by changing the title appropriately.

I’ll give you a hint on the new name it’ll have; it’s been the title of this blog all along!

Otherwise; I have to be honest. I’m not happy with how I’ve paced the story at the start, but I have no intentions on changing what I’ve established. I enjoy having Frisk react to and obtain knowledge and capabilities thanks to the things anons suggest, so I will not be taking that away!: however, Underfade has always had a goal in mind, so I’ll try my best to write and pace things better with that goal as a focus.

Whether that goal continues to stay the same, or whether that changes due to others’ suggestions... we’ll see how that goes with this upcoming revival! Nonetheless, I look forward to working with everyone in the future! o9

❥ What’s happening with Fadedtale?

♦ Fadedtale will be running on a longer hiatus than Underfade.

I’d like to establish a few more things in Underfade before being able to, essentially, tell two stories at once. Additionally, there are aspects of Fadedtale that I’m deeply unhappy with and would love to change as soon as possible -- so if anything? Fadedtale will be undergoing an extended hiatus, followed by less-than-gentle tinkering-slash-arc for good measure, and then the blog would be open for RPs and asks of all sorts.

To be clear: Fadedtale will be undergoing an arc, in a similar format to the way Underfade is formatted, before being reopened to interactions. If people were around for the event I had with Fadedtale’s Chara reveal, it will be similar to that. I hope people will be able to have fun with it when it happens!

(A.) While I’ve never stopped working on Underfade and Fadedtale things, Deltarune has absolutely revived my drive to roll my sleeves up and get things done on here.

(B.) While many headcanons regarding the Undertale universe for my AUs have changed in response to Deltarune, I’ve every intention on respecting what I’ve revealed prior to my hiatus and what these AUs have had determined for them. Essentially, Deltarune’s revelations changes nothing about what’s to come and why things are that way.

(B.2.) -- However, as Fadedtale actively works with alternative universes much more openly than Underfade, I may make an exception on those grounds to switch stuff around. The abovementioned changes must take place before this, however.

(C.) Kris Deltarune is a huge favorite. Please talk to me about them on my personal Tumblr or, if already in possession of it, on Discord.

(C.2.) While I’d love to kick up a Deltarune blog (coughKrisblogcough), I will be holding off until I get a lot of Underfade and Fadedtale content out before indulging appropriately. Unless people are okay with a very lazily run and sketchy blog that barely updates, then by all means.

❥ How’ve things been?

♦ Admittedly, pretty up and down. 2018 has had some incredible highs, namely my college graduation and the completion of my thesis film, as well as some heavy lows -- which I will not go into detail. This year’s very much felt like a step back for each step forward in many regards, but some things don’t change at least!

❥ What have you been up to lately?

♦ deviantART, mostly! Tumblr queueing, secondly. Writing stories, both Underfade/Fadedtale related and original whenever I’m not drawing. And, looking for work in real life and keeping my head above water, whenever I’m not online, ah ha :’D

I’m semi-active on Discord, usually!! This year hasn’t been the kindest on my mental health, so I’m sorry if I ended up ignoring a lot of messages between now and the past year. I’ll do my best to answer any messages in the future.

Kingdom- Ch 8

Gajeel has had the dream about dying for the blue haired girl for as long as he can remember. Which is weird, since he’s never met anyone with blue hair in his life.

Levy has always loved myths and legends. So much so, in fact, that she was currently getting her master’s in mythological studies.

What neither of them realized was that they were living a legend all their own.

AKA the one with a knight, a princess, and a curse that keeps bringing them together just to pull them apart.

WOOHOOOOO NOVEMBER UPDATE IS UP! Again, I feel I need to apologize for cutting back so much on updates during the holidays. It was necessary though because I definitely needed to focus on the 12 Days of ODM. AAAAND even better news, it’s paying off because 7 out of 12 are completed!

I hope that you find this update worth it. Actual notes in my notebook about this chapter: This is the step before the top of the rollercoaster hill.

So I’m hoping y'all are starting to get that feeling right before the coaster pitches ya over the hill, cuz that’s where we’re at lol Friendly reminder this is still on a semi-hiatus while I work on 12 Days of ODM and SS stuff. Consciousness crested over Gajeel like an incoming tide, ebbing over his body slowly like waves until he was wholly aware of the light painting the backs of his eyelids red and the cool dampness of a cloth across his forehead. A thick fog was still working his way through his mind, accompanied by a manufactured silence that did nothing to sooth the sudden spike of her nerves. How did he get there? Just a moment before he was certain he’d been speaking with Lily.

And then—

His gasp was a sharp intake that tore through his throat and chest like a beast as he sat upright, knocking the cooled fabric from his forehead to his lap as his eyes flew open.

It was real.

The dream and all its reoccurrences, hadn’t been a creation of his own imagination, but memories of a life he’d once lived. This time, instead of the all too familiar darkness that he had grown accustomed to, he’d been met with vivid images of a king, of an order, and of the beautiful blue haired woman that he’d fallen in love with. He could almost still feel the weight of her head on his chest. Could still taste her on his tongue. She had been his.

And if that was the truth, he had also died. In fact, he had died for her.

Save her.

Gajeel’s hand shook as he ran it through his hair, a small, nervous sound escaping him as his mind raced to accept the impossible nature of it all. Somehow, he was the knight that had appeared before him in his bathroom.

Somehow, he had died.

Though the certainty of the truth was crackling in his veins like a lightning storm, he was still unsure of the nature that had caused it to be so. Even now, as he tried to reach the memory of his death, he was met by a wall that stopped any progress.

With an aggravated huff, Gajeel grabbed the cloth from his lap and threw it across the room, ignoring the wet slap of the fabric against the wall. He needed answers. Needed to find the end to the maze the stood between him and the explanation as to how he had lived a life centuries ago.

A small cough dragged him back from the brink of his entangled thoughts as he turned towards the sound, only to see Lily sitting in a chair that he’d set next to the couch. His corded arms were crossed over his chest as he looked over his adopted brother, an eyebrow raised as he appraised him. As if he had any right to scrutinize.

I’m sorry, Gajeel.

The sharp sting of betrayal wore a blunt hole in his chest as he returned the stare. In all the years that they had known each other, and all the times they’d spoken of the strange dream, Lily had never said anything. Instead, he’d offered false explanations and possibilities all the while holding the truth behind the recurrent vision close.

“How long have you known?” Gajeel asked, the question burning his throat with the acidic suspicion that dripped from every word. Lily held his glare, meeting it with one of unabashed honesty. Before him sat the best friend and brother he had grown to know, and yet they sat regarding each other like strangers. There was a moment’s pause before lily sighed, the very breath leaving in one long rush of sound that seemed to deflate him.

“I’ve always known, Gajeel,” he said, not looking away as he kept his voice steady. It was the same pitch and even cadence that one might use when speaking to a wild animal. Gajeel wondered if Lily thought he might bite.

Hell, he wondered the same.

They continued to regard each other, a hundred questions flinging themselves silently into the ever growing distance that seemed to carve deeper and further between them. It was as his gaze danced over his adopted brother in an attempt to pull the answers straight from his head, that he noticed the bruise like shadows that had etched themselves under his eyes.

‘’We’re protectors, me and my family,” Lily began to speak again once he realized Gajeel wasn’t going to ask another question. As much as he wanted to, he didn’t even know where to start. How was he even supposed to begin to ask the man before him to unravel the lies that had made up the fabric of his life? Even if Gajeel himself knew which thread to begin to pull, he wasn’t even sure he would. The sharp tang of fear coated the back of his tongue at the mere thought of confirming what he already knew.

Everything he knew was a lie.

“Liam was the first. He’d been best friends with the Black Dragon, son of the Iron Dragon.” His voice was almost dream like as he spoke, reciting the words like an all too familiar mantra that had been told to him over and over again. Lily’s eyes glinted in the light as they flashed upwards toward his face.

“With you,” he rectified. “He had been a stableboy at the castle, and you had saved him from some boys that thought their status set them above him. Which, while true, didn’t seem to bother you much.”

A dark chuckle escaped him as he shook his head, the weight of the tale apparent in the way his shoulders dipped.

“But then the king ordered you to leave. To protect a woman without any knowledge of who she was, only that you must keep her safe. Thing was, he didn’t plan on you falling in love. At least, as far as the story goes.” Lily shrugged before he leant forward, forearms bracing over his knees as his onyx eyes searched Gajeel’s crimson as if in search of something.

Something that would expose any familiarity to the memories that belonged to him, told from side of someone that didn’t live them. Yet the only recognition he could find, was hidden in the light blue hair that had haunted his dreams, pulled him in front of a vehicle, and splayed across his pillow.

“Bits and pieces of the tale have been lost in translation and changed so much over time that I can’t tell you how it happened, but you both ended up cursed.”

Gajeel felt the breath catch in his chest, the suddenness of it opening a burning hole behind his sternum. Almost as soon as Lily had spoken the word, he knew recalled the sharp sound of bitter laughter and the oppressive weight as darkness had descended on him, only punctuated by the searing pain in his chest.

“What was the curse?” He asked, voice a barely above a whisper as he tried to speak over the stone that had cut off his breath. Gajeel watched as Lily sighed, bringing both his hands up towards his hair and carding his fingers through it, pausing momentarily with his head held up by his palms. It wasn’t until he looked back up that he answered.

“To relive finding each other, only to lose one another again.”

Unease opened up in his gut like a beast freed of shackles, tearing into the soft flesh with the intent to destroy. His dreams had always pointed him towards love. As his consciousness had faded away into what he now knew was death, his last thoughts were always of golden eyes and sky filled hair. The ill omen had even disguised itself in the mirror vision, those two haunting words falling from his doppleganger’s lips as his ruby stare cut through him.

Save her.

Only now, he heard the edge of the words that gave them a darker, more sinister feel. Save her, but at what cost?

How many times had he saved her, and died in the process?

Had he ever even saved her at all?

Gajeel pushed the aching throb in his throat down just long enough to get out his next words, already knowing their answer but needing to hear it anyway. It wouldn’t be real until he heard it. Shuffling where he sat so that he was now turned fully towards Lily so he could fix him with his unwavering gaze, he bit out the only question that mattered.

“Is it Levy?”

Time stopped around them, its constant movement stalled by the simple question. He felt the weight of it, crushing down around his shoulders as the images from the dream beat against the inside of his skull. Her hands. Her lips. The softness of her in his arms. Fear as it corroded his veins. Pain, as it tore the very life from within him.

What was mere seconds had opened up into an endless stasis in which the only things left moving were Gajeel’s innermost thoughts and Lily’s downturning mouth.

With his heart hammering a dent into the back of his ribs, he waited for the answer that would be the nail in his own coffin. When they finally came, they were filled with the same rasp of a man taking his final breath.

“Yes. And she will kill you.”

Levy jolted from the dream as if she’d been shocked from the depths of her slumber by an unseen force that ran an electric current through her body. Her skin was heated and flushed as she worked to catch her breath, somehow lost to her as if she’d been running instead of sleeping with her cheek pressed against the cool surface of her desk. Even her throat ached, as if it had been torn with the screams that had filled her dream.

The experience had been harrowing, one moment she was in her room and the next she had been swallowed into an inky darkness before finding herself thrust into the foreign feel of her own body.

Only, it wasn’t really her body.

She had found herself a spectator while trapped within the confines of her imagined self, watching the love story between the maiden and the knight play out before her eyes. Levy had watched as Gajeel’s eyes had softened as he’d looked at her. Seen the way his careful touches became caresses that evolved into so much more. She’d even felt the ever present growth of a new star trapped behind her ribs each time she had returned the affections.

Everything had been good, and pure, and light.

Then Levy watched as it became corrupted and twisted, the pain of it too much to bear as the dream faded from scene to scene until the finale, where she was clutching Gajeel to her chest as blood rushed from a gaping wound in his chest. The aching throb of her anguish was only amplified when she realized that the dagger that had dealt the fatal wound was clutched within her fist.

It had been the sinister glint of the light on the blade that had sent her reeling through whatever darkness had pulled her into the dream in the first place and dropped her back into the real world. Gulping down large breaths, Levy pulled both of her hands through her hair in a failed attempt at collecting herself.

With her heart still stuttering, she looked down at the book that still lay open before her, the painted pictures pointed upwards to the sky in a frozen scene from the dream. A small hiss escaped her as she slammed the cover shut before pushing herself away from the desk. Dropping her head against the back of her chair, Levy squeezed her eyes shut as she pinched the bridge of her nose between her fingers.

There’s a perfectly good explanation for this, she thought to herself, desperately clutching at rationality to keep herself afloat.

It was pure coincidence that Levy had made a connection between her and the blue haired woman in the book, and Gajeel and the night. He had been an object of her attention for long enough that it only made sense her mind would find similarities where there weren’t any. After all, it was one thing to believe the stories she studied could have actually happened. It was another entirely to be living one.

Yet, it had all felt real. So real that Levy could still smell the greenery that had surrounded the hut that they’d lived in. Could still hear his words as they’d caressed the shell of her ear while he had exchanged his own stories with her. She could even still feel the heat of him from where he’d lay dying in her arms.

There was no way the dream had really been her memories.

And yet—

Three sharp raps against her door shook her of the impossible thoughts that were swirling in and around her mind like fog. Feet rubbing over the carpet of her floor, Levy pulled herself towards the knocking that sounded again, impatiently again as it repeated its sharp cadence. She wasn’t expecting anyone, but one guess would place Lucy on the other side of the door. Most likely, she’d be standing there looking sheepish, as if she hadn’t left Levy completely wasted at a bar.

If her brain wasn’t in the middle of liquifying, she would probably make Lucy work for her forgiveness. Be that as it may, she no longer had it in her to fight over what was considered abandonment with her best friend. All she wanted were answers that the blonde would not be able to give her.

“Look, Luce, you’re already forgiven,” she spoke as she flung the door open only to find the words sticking to the inside of her throat as she realized that the person on the other side was not her best friend. Where crystalline blue eyes should have been looking down at her, instead, she was only met by an endless pool of violet.

Levy exhaled a short, surprised noise between her teeth before she spoke.

“Hi, Aunt Kearia.”

((Pre-tldr; semi-hiatus time. Not actually a big deal, I promise.

Welp. I thought that after the upcoming vacation, I’d be able to ease my brain into something resembling normal activity, with the time and energy to do so. But due to ridiculous circumstances, I’ll be coming back and... getting ready to move. And all that goes with that enormously unfun activity. So, for now, it seems smarter to slap a “semi-hiatus” status on all my RP blogs.

That’s not to say that I won’t still be hanging around when I can. And occasionally haunting ask boxes. Folks are certainly welcome to send me things, tag me, etc. But there’s no ETA on response times, and any guesses of activity will have to wait until things start to get sorted out. I’ll try to keep folks aware of when I actually won’t have internet, but beyond that, I am mostly lurking, working, or cursing at all the supplies I’ve gathered and how I don’t have telekinesis.

I mean if drabbles happen to pop up, I’ll post them at their related blogs too. I’d like to at least maintain a presence while opening my arms wide to the sky and yelling “What the fuck is it this time?”))

shows up 10 years late w/ an intro/info post . as we all well know from the ooc blog : i’m cosbo ! i still play pokemon go , i create things you never asked for in photoshop , i’ve been in love with gaston since the age of four , & i don’t think i’ve ever once gotten enough sleep in my life . under the cut i’ll give you a rundown on your favorite self absorbed french asshole & how i’m playing him + an important note regarding my activity in the upcoming weeks !

MY WHAT A GUY , THAT GASTON !

if you’ve heard the catchy song you probably know that no one does literally anything quite like gaston . & true enough gaston is talented plus he’s probably one of the most handsome people you will ever meet but the downside to that fact is he is fully aware of it . gaston thinks he shits gold probably . he shows up to birthday parties with no present & say his presence alone is a present . he’s the king of entitled white boys . & unfortunately he’s not quite familiar with the word NO . if he thinks your pretty , he may lay some moves on you & if you try to turn him down honestly he’ll just be more interested just ask belle . this mainly goes for just girls but am i gonna sit here & say he can’t appreciate a pretty man ? you bet your sweet ass i’m not . no one’s bi like gaston ! however , he does come from a time where any form of non heterosexuality was highly frowned upon so … he’s coming to terms w/ that one . it’s fine he’ll get there .

GASTON’S PAST : we don’t know much about gaston’s past other than he did fight in a war ( given the timeline of beauty & the beast being mid 18th century there’s a few possibilities in which war he fought in but we’re gonna say it was either the war of austrian succession (1740 - 1748) or it was the seven years war (1754 - 1763) ) & he became a war hero & an army captain . it was also stated by luke evans in an interview that gaston’s celebrity status in the little village of villeneuve comes from the fact he protected the village from a pack of portuguese marauders in 1740 when he was just 16 . in the book it also states that this war he fought in & became a hero in was 12 years prior to the story . what baffles me the most abt that is he still wears his uniform . who has clothes that still fit & look pristine for 12 years ???? anyway . speaking of his uniform an interesting thing to note is that gaston’s war uniform is bright red . in the 18th century ... the french army wore blue . the red coats were the british so ... from that we can assume gaston fought with the british army which i’ll have more on that deal in the family section of the intro post but what ��i wanna talk about here is on one hand we can believe gaston was a british war hero who had ties to france that had him live there . on the other , & i think this better fits gaston’s horrid personality , gaston could be a deserter from the british army who stabbed the british in the back , turning on them & becoming a war hero for france . he is fond of stabbing backs it seems like him . now ! moving on ! gaston does have ptsd from the war , even luke said this in an interview , though he keeps it under wraps by feeding off the praise he gets , making himself feel useful & wanted rather than focusing on how empty his life’s been since the war , & burying it under his inflated ego . underneath that , however ? yeah , he’s pretty broken , jaded , & when he doesn’t get what he wants his anger comes forth in a very militaristic fashion that seeks to destroy anything in his path to what he wants due to the fact that part of him is still seeking to return to the war . not even tweleve whole years have shaken the battle out of gaston & his mind since it just hasn’t been able to settle back . some part of him has wired itself to live on the adrenaline & action of the war & his frustration with his inability to settle back into a peaceful life has made him crave the war . he seeks for the thrill , the high , of war similiar situations & while most once shook their head at this they would come to find out that his war hungry half can be something more far more dangerous when his anger is tested along with it . it’s times like that when gaston hardly realizes he’s partly acting on his frustration & anger with mundane life & subconscious need for the chaos of war .

GASTON’S FAMILY : we know nothing of gaston’s parents … but one can assume he’s probably from a well off family & he’s most definitely an only child . one headcanon i do have is that while gaston’s mother was french , his father , though of french decent hence the surname legume , was from england . in the 2017 film , lefou says ‘je ne sais quoi ?’ & gaston responds that he doesn’t know what that means . pretty sad for a french guy , yeah ? they way i headcanon it is that gaston was born in england & his family moved to france with but his mother soon left he & his father when gaston was still very young . so gaston’s british , technically . he & his father simply didn’t move after his mother left , it was too much a hassle , & gaston’s father spoke most only english & also sought gaston out an english tutor . from living in france , yes , gaston has indeed picked up some french but he’s actually not fluent . he knows a good amount of basic conversation & could hold a decent one & then he also knows military commands but that’s about it . through most his life , when having trouble with the languge be that trouble speaking it or listening to it , he would often turn to lefou to translate . anyhow , back on topic , much of gaston’s personality comes from his extreme need for attention as a child & his father’s spoiling of him in addition to his father’s insanely sexist view on masculinity which he inherited .

GASTON IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST : we all know how beauty & the beast ends for gaston . he does a cheep shot at the beast from behind then , afterwards , the structure he was standing on crumbles & he falls to his death . well , the last thing gaston remembers is falling . that is the point of beauty & the beast that i’ve taken him from . that being said , this mean’s gaston’s anger & deranged violent nature is at critical level . tick him off ? you’re getting hit . he’s extremely angry at belle … yet still wants to marry her because now it’s just a matter of pride kinda thing . if you bring up the beast or just anything about his story , probably , he will snap a bit .

MISCELLANEOUS HEADCANONS :

yes , gaston can read ! unlike his cartoon counterpart who only likes picture books . now , he doesn’t read any of the books they have in the village , of course , as they’re all in french ( save for romeo & juliet as it’s by an english playwright but gaston would not subject himself to reading gooey romance shakespear when things such as hamlet & macbeth exist ) & he’s even less terrific at reading french than he is at speaking it . mostly he reads only from his father’s small collection of books which he grew up with & has now inherited . his favorite is actually macbeth , seeing as he quotes it in the mob song .

he really loves breakfast food you guys . does he really eat 5 dozen eggs a day ? may have been an exaggeration . but ! he does eat a good heap of eggs every morning & it’s at least slightly concerning .

most of the time he will only do things that somehow benefit him . this is how he is & if he doesn’t see gain in his end in whatever you’re asking him to do he’ll most likely turn it down .

if doing something will get him adoring fans he’ll do it & he won’t let anyone else help . he lives for praise . oh there’s a child in a burning building ? you’re going to save it ? not anymore he’ll tie you to a tree so that he can do it & get the glory . he’s a very bad team player for sure .

WANTED CONNECTIONS : i. LEFOU . connection taken ! gaston abanoned lefou , who only spent his days adoring gaston & being in literal love w/ him , to die after using him as a human sheild & letting him crushed by candenza . as horrible as gaston was to lefou in the end he does know that lefou is his biggest fan & before his jealousy & anger took him over he was genuinely friends with lefou . lefou has been his friend since he was young & fought in the war beside him . guaranteed to anyone who brings me a lefou : heartbreaking plots , many tears , my constant bothering of you , sad headcanons , MY ETERNAL LOVE!!!!! , any gif icons or static icons of lefou you may need i will make them for you , & more ! a josh gad fc would be preferred but ik he doesn’t have the most abundant of resources so if you have someone else in mind that’s fine but like just hmu first if you’re using someone else . i seriously will make you static & gif icons if you use josh , though , like i will make resources for you . LISTEN I’D JUST LOVE A LEFOU SO MUCH !

i’m moving in two weeks ! yeah , i joined a rpg at not the best time but it’s fine . see , you may notice that on my app i say i’m in pacific time ! well , i’m actually currently in central standard time at the current moment . but i’m going to be moving literally across the country to california ! i put pacific time on my app though because i thought it pointless to put the timezone of somewhere i’m not even gonna be for much longer . this means i will be packing , routing my trip , trying to get a new job , working at my two current jobs , & spending time with friends before i leave all in the upcoming two weeks ! i’m very busy but i will try to get on here as much as i possibly can . if worse comes to worse then i will request a semi hiatus until i’m successfully across the country !

I know probably have already answered this but I can't find any information about what is happening to Penny Dreadful. Is it dead?

Unfortunately my life got really crazy and my beloved Penny Dreadful had to be pushed to the side. I plan to come back to it when I have the time to actually create a backlog. I do have the last few pages of the current chapter semi-finished and will be publishing them soon, but it’s going to be a while till chapter 9 goes up.

Status: Hiatus of Indeterminable Length

Thank you so much for your inquiry though. It really touches me that people actual read Penny Dreadful. It hurts me that I’ve had to take a step back, but that’s how life is. I started PD in High School and now I’m a college graduates with dreaded bills to pay. Uhg, real life.

The best point is that they encourage their artists to write and produce right from debut, and to develop their own unique style. With this situation I'm a little conflicted. Top 30 Beauty Blogs of 2017 | NinjaOutreach

Interested in getting a quick list of the world’s most influential beauty blogs? Well, we came up with just the perfect list for you. Read on for our top beauty blogs of 2017.

Methodology

We get a lot of questions from our users—and one of the most common is—how can you use Ninja Outreach to find influencers? We are an influencer prospecting and outreach tool, after all.

So for this article, I used our tool to prospect for influencers in a burgeoning and glamorous niche—the beauty blogging industry.

Take note that not every search is the same—results vary according to the keywords you use, just as your keywords vary according to your purpose.

You might be a beauty product company looking for beauty influencers to help promote your product, or you may be a beauty journalist looking for renowned beauty experts to interview for an article.

In my case, I’m interested in compiling a list of the most influential blogs and bloggers. And I want to start by running a search for the highest-earning beauty bloggers and then manually following the golden cookie crumbs trail from there.

So back to our tool, I clicked Content Prospecting and typed my keywords into the search bar. Hitting enter should produce the trending articles on this subject.

I continued playing around with keywords and manually whittled down the results until I felt pretty confident I had enough material I could use for this article.

Once I’ve finalized my list, I used our Ninja Outreach chrome extension to check each beauty blog’s SEO stats and follower count.

Also, note that this list will focus on blogger influencers and will not be including established experts in the industry such as heavyweights Pat McGrath, Lisa Eldridge, Caroline Hirons, etc., as they are on a different league of their own.

So, here are the top 25 blogs for 2017 that I found, divided by two categories.

Social Media Beauty Influencers

1. Huda Beauty

Blogger: Huda Kattan

Instagram: @hudabeauty 21.7 million followers

Youtube: Huda Beauty 1.9 million subscribers

With over 20 million Instagram followers and almost 2 million Youtube subscribers, Dubai-based Huda Kattan tops our beauty influencer list. She dominated the beauty scene in the Middle East early and eventually climbed the ranks to become one of the wealthiest beauty influencers of Instagram.

From product reviews to makeup tutorials to beauty blog stardom, Huda has gone a long way from her childhood fascination with makeup. According to PopSugar, Huda is able to earn around $18k per post.

She has since launched her own beauty product line, Huda Beauty, which is doing quite well. In fact, Allure magazine referred to Huda as the woman who “sold” Sephora on false eyelashes when the cosmetics chain agreed to sell her false eyelash line—Huda Beauty’s first product.

2. Zoella

Blogger: Zoe Sugg

Youtube: Zoella 12 million followers

From beauty influencer to celebrity businesswoman, Zoe Sugg—better known by her online moniker, Zoella, is living the Youtube millionaire dream.

The English vlogger started her channel by filming makeup tutorials, reviewing beauty products, talking about beauty, and even injecting some personal commentary into her content. Her wholesome, Disney teen star like appeal resonated with her audience, and barely four years since she began posting online, Zoe is already netting close to $400k annually.

She has since engaged in other projects, one of which was producing her first (ghostwritten) novel, Girl Online. The book instantly became a New York Times bestseller, breaking the record for fastest-selling, first-week book sales from a debut novelist.

3. NikkieTutorials

Blogger: Nikkie de Jager

Youtube: NikkieTutorials 7.8 million subscribers

An enthusiast-turned-professional makeup artist, Nikkie de Jager was ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the highest-earning beauty influencers of the year. With her almost 9 million followers, millions of Youtube views, and collaborations with the likes of Maybelline, Too Faced, and celebrity influencers such as Kim Kardashian and Jessie J, among others, it’s no wonder this Dutch blogger is third on our list.

Armed only with her mother’s digital camera, cardboard, and nothing much else, Nikkie’s first makeup tutorial in Youtube got just eight views and three comments.

Fast forward almost ten years later, and the shy girl who was inspired by the makeup looks in America’s hit reality TV series The Hills has turned herself into one of Youtube’s millionaires.

4. Wake Up and Makeup

Blogger: Manal Shaikh

Despite online news site Fashionista referring to her as one of the more laidback types of beauty bloggers, Manal Shaikh’s online influence is anything but lackluster. At only 23, she was able to grow her three Instagram accounts’ follower counts organically by the millions—and she didn’t have to post tons of her own selfies to do so.

Compared to the other beauty bloggers in this list, Manal did not put all her eggs in the beauty influencer golden basket. Despite her passion and skill for makeup and nail art, she refers to herself in her online accounts as a “Social Media Strategist” instead of beauty blogger or influencer—perhaps signaling that she does not intend to be a beauty personality, but more of a beauty curator and digital marketer.

Whatever the case, the success of her accounts is pretty strong evidence to show how she absolutely nails social media marketing.

5. Michelle Phan

I don’t know about you, but I believe this beauty blog craze all began with Michelle Phan. If landing on the covers of Forbes and Nylon, or getting featured by magazines the likes of W Magazine, CNBC, and The Daily Mail (among many others) doesn’t solidify her status as a mega beauty influencer, then I don’t know what does. It's an understatement to say that the rise of Michelle Phan has rocked the beauty industry—and opened a Pandora’s box of possibilities for other beauty bloggers.

Between 2007 and 2011, when the beauty blog pioneer was at her peak, she had almost 2 million subscribers. Her video channel had more than 500 million views. Meanwhile, a big brand like Lancôme only had over 4k subscribers and 5 million views. And if she hadn’t gone on a long hiatus when Em cosmetics, her makeup line collaboration with L'Oréal fell through, she would probably still be on the top of this list.

Needless to say, Michelle has since recovered from her personal time out from the digital world. She has since repurchased Em from L'Oréal and has relaunched the line on her own. Just this year, she also launched her beauty sampling startup, Ipsy, which is currently valued at $500 million. In total, the value of Michelle’s “empire” is estimated to be nearly $100 million.

6. JeffreeStar

Youtube: JeffreeStar 5.4 million subscribers

The one time MySpace pop star-in-the-making (he once outsold Justin Timberlake on iTunes) turned beauty blogger and semi-celebrity began his love affair with makeup at 13. With a model for a mother, it was bound to happen. Jeffree recalled how he started by copying magazine ad looks and borrowing his mother’s makeup.

Soon, he was traveling around the world, learning, teaching, and continuing to practice his craft. From fashion editorials to music videos, to weddings, he has done them all.

Recently, Jeffree crossed another thing off his bucket list when he launched his own makeup line. He also toured and hobnobbed with celebrities—even modeled for jewelry designer Tarina Tarantino—bringing his makeup skills, striking personality, and merchandise along with him. As of 2017, Jeff’s net worth is valued at around $5 million.

7. Carli Bybel

Carli Bybel posted her first Youtube video about hairstyling in 2011. As Carli has gamely shared in an interview with Fox5NY, even her mother was skeptical about her dream to become an internet star.

Before becoming a hit with an audience in the millions on her Youtube and Instagram, Pony used to model products for Korean e-commerce stores. She now has her own makeup line, PONY, which is doing exceptionally well and has recently partnered with beauty box subscription service, Memebox.

She has published a book on beauty and was also featured in Allure and Harper’s Bazaar, all aside from gracing top beauty magazines in South Korea and the rest of Asia.

10. Kandeej

A young mother and student, she was still able to dedicate enough time to rise among Youtube’s beauty vlogger ranks, landing herself on Forbes top ten most influential and highest-earning beauty bloggers list.

14. Kat Von D Beauty

As a celebrity tattoo artist who co-starred on hit reality show LA Ink, Katherine von Drachenberg—or Kat Von D, starts her journey with a significant leg up. Keeping it real and practical is this self-taught makeup artist’s motto. He has over 15 years of professional experience, which gives his reviews and tutorials even more credibility. Indeed, even as drama in the beauty blogging community pitted influencer against influencer, Wayne stood out as one of the most level-headed in the bunch.

Instead of being flamboyant, he emphasizes technique and keeping things as real and approachable as possible. This transparency resonated with his audience—now at 3 million and still growing.

His style preference is classy, timeless, and no-nonsense, which is reflected in the projects he undertakes. In 2014, He partnered with cosmetics brand Charlotte Tilbury to make a look for Victoria Beckham’s cover shoot with Allure magazine.
