a/n: it’s been literally almost a week and i’m still dealing with post concert depression... i miss txt guys :((( BUT ALSO MY FIRST OFFICIAL TXT ONESHOT IS COMING OUT LATER ON TOMORROW AT MIDNIGHT EST SO KEEP AN EYE OUT!!!!

You sat in your break room at the cafe with your head in the palms of your hands, wondering why someone would randomly throw a cup at you when you never made any suspicions of being friends with Soobin and Yeonjun in public. But it later on settled that it would make sense, considering they were constantly interacting with you online, and also picking you up from work so that you could hang out with them back at your shared complex. 

However, did they have to take it that far?

A huff of breath leaves your lips as you wipe whatever coffee was still stained yourself with a towel that your manager had given you and look at the clock in front of you. He had given you the rest of the day off in case you needed it, but you weren’t ready to face whatever your friends had to say about the situation knowing that they would’ve done something anyway. 

“Y/N! Your friend is here to pick you up… but it’s not Soobin or Yeonjun.” You hear one of your coworkers, Wooyoung say, making you furrow your eyebrows in confusion as you walked out of the break room to see Kai standing there with an awkward smile on his face. 

“Do you want my sweater… and maybe company for a walk home?” He offers, holding out one of his hoodies that he had in his hands out to you, and you glanced down at it for a moment before gratefully taking it from him. 

“Lead the way.” You mumbled quietly, giving him a small smile as you put on the warm hoodie that had his cologne all over it, while the two of you had left the cafe in silence, neither of you speaking up as the sounds of cars and people passed by you both in the city.

You weren’t sure what to say to him the whole time that you both walked to your apartment complex, but you could tell that he was also in his own thoughts as he was avoiding your eyes the whole time. To think of it, it seemed as though he was nervous the whole time that you both walked, making you wonder what was on his mind. 

“Y/N, I’m sorry that I haven’t reached out in a while.” He speaks up after a while after another beat of silence, and you give him a surprised look before you shake your head in response, giving him a nudge with your elbow to indicate that it wasn’t anything personal. 

After all, you believed that it was your fault that you drifted apart in the first place anyways. 

“We all grow up, regardless, Hyuka, it’s okay,” You say with a small smile on your face, making him smile a bit at the familiar nickname that you used to call him when you were both younger, “Thank you for walking me home. Really saved me a whole meltdown from both Soobin and Yeonjun.”

“Are they…”

“They should be coming out of our apartment any moment now, if I am counting the time right.” You giggle, pointing towards where their car was parked and right at that moment, you could see Yeonjun scrambling to the driver’s side with Soobin measly following behind him so that he could stop the elder’s antics. 

You could hear them bickering in the distance as the two of you neared them, but you turned to Kai, who had paused for a moment to look at you and the two older boys that were arguing in the distance, unsure as to what he should do. He notices how you motioned over for him to follow as you must’ve planned to talk the two out of it, and he jogs behind you to catch up to your pace. 

“Come on, let’s go break the married couple apart before they strangle each other. And we both know that’s not going to be pretty.”
