glamfest lineup just came out about an hour ago as i’m writing this and the lineup is killer! slaughter and lynch mob are headlining which is awesome so i think i may just get vip… no michael monroe but thats ok! if he comes to australia separately that’d still be cool but if not it’s fine

i think my favourite type of piercing to do on other people is a helix piercing at this stage, but on myself my fav is just any type of nose piercing, bc i can do anything with them!

i do play a few instruments! bass is my main one that i’m best at but i also play guitar (planning on restarting lessons in the new year now that i have a job that pays me better), piano (sometimes), ukulele (again sometimes), and i have background playing small wind instruments (recorder, harmonica). i would love to learn the drums though! i also (try to) sing a bit but only rly in front of ppl when i’ve been drinking a bit and we do karaoke

christmas is the same every year really, we do a couple of extended family events in the lead up & then on christmas eve we each get to open ONE thing from under the tree. on christmas day we have lunch/dinner with my mums side of my family, which switches between three houses (our house, aunts house, mums cousins house). we do a secret santa for gifts at this but if you’re under 18 you get a present from every family. we used to go to church on christmas eve but since my dad’s not religious and me and my sister kinda stopped believing & my mum isn’t rly a fan of the catholic church as an organisation (shes still christian she just doesnt like the church) we dont do that anymore)

sometimes we drive around on christmas eve and look at the lights that people put up on their houses! a lot of people do that in my area btw just in case that sounds creepy

sleeping at last have been one of my favorite artists for a while and every time i come back to listen to their music i just relate more songs to the characters i like sghsd and it’s like that pretty much with every album i enjoy- i listen to it again and then boom. i associate a song with a character. and yeah! the ‘other’ can be both seen as like an unknown in general or as a person and the following lines just make me go yup c!dream. and yeah!! the first verse ends with questions and uses ‘trochę mniej’ which is ‘a little less’ and the last verse uses confirmations that he knows and is sure that what he’s saying is true and it’s paired with ‘znacznie mniej’ in comparison to the previous use of ‘a little’ it confirms that there will be significantly less of him when he leaves the other person. it just describes the clingy duo too fucking well especially when you remember the ‘what am i without you?’ like. god! pliocene gives me wilbur in limbo vibes specifically. just the repetitive chorus and the dancing with the sea unable to wake up.. yeah. and east is one of my favorites and i was just listening to it one day and was like. hold up. and now it destroys me even more! nine just really makes me think about how ranboo finds a place to belong and people to protect in tubbo and michael and just finding himself you know!! and i just realized every song i relate to tommy just creates more angst dghsj and don’t worry about the length of the asks!! i talk just as much so it’s really not a problem!!

no one asked but here are my thoughts about CALM the album/era as a whole (these are all opinions so.. don't hate me plz)

the good:

i think this album has some of the best lyrics collectively, they're more visual and tell a story rather than just saying words to a melody

they’ve really put the hard work in with the aesthetic for this album. the constant common look that flows through everything but still remaining in line is so good. all these photoshoots, posters and videos take so much time and they don’t have to do it, but it’s really showing that they do it because they want to. it’s my favorite aesthetics they’ve ever had. 

the music videos this era are my favorite so far too, like i just mentioned the aesthetics are still present in every video but not in a repetitive way... they somehow make it feel fresh every time... it’s so cool. also, they started working with a female director finally, praise god lol

along with the lyrics being great.... the melodies are amazing. like every single one is insanely catchy and great and unique

while selfishly i do wish there were more songs, the amount makes it a really sold piece of work that isn’t a huge time commitment to go back to and listen. 

luke’s vocals and high register are A+

listening to the album's production, you can just hear they had a really fun and experimental time making the album. if they wanted to try something they did it and didn’t question it.

they did a really nice job of making the best of the current situation with the livestreams and chats, creating a live listening party and doing a stream. it felt like a really personal thing and was a good distraction for everyone.

they say the phrase, ‘a natural progression’ a lot but this album feels the most that. like it sounds new and fresh but familiar and comfortable. 

the bad:

a lot of people have said the album felt underwhelming and i agree because- look... i know that with the current circumstances they couldn’t do promo or build up the hype they wanted/hoped to do but i am genuinely wondering who’s idea it was to release almost half the album before it came out? like they released 5 songs before the album came out... most artists do 2/3 songs so when the album does come out it still feels new. but when they released all the songs... they released half of the album and gave us a 7 song album afterward which is why i think it feels so underwhelming

why the FUCK does it feel like i’m listening to a solo act. where are Calum's parts? Ashton's? where the fuck even is Michael? if you asked me where Michael was i would say i have no idea... genuinely. in Old Me theres a literal part in the bridge where luke is harmonizing WITH HIMSELF. THERE ARE 3 OTHER MEMBERS MA’AM USE THEM. i get Luke is the frontman, the lead singer but i miss when they would trade verses bc it felt like a band and not luke and the band.

i hate when artists speak about toxic relationships in a positive light and not in the same way is exactly that. while i love the melody and it is catchy... please stop being like ‘we’re drunk we fuck we fight that’s it’... i hate it and it’s immature. 

speaking of lyrics and immaturity... stop singing about cigarettes. it ain’t cute. it ain’t an aesthetic. it cringy and try hard (like really ~im edgy~ vibes) and fuck smoking. 

teeth and easier sound like different songs for a different album to me... they stick out as hard alternative songs and then the rest is like soft pop/alt... strange to me. 

i read somewhere that ashton spoke about how they're already pretty into the next album already and that they wanna be the band that constantly releases new music and albums because “that’s where music is going” and obviously yeah i would love constant new music but... please don’t do that. quality over quantity. artists who release music constantly end up releasing the same thing over and over again and that’s not cute. allow for growth and change in life so that the music can grow and change. don’t make the same thing over and over again.

I’ve been doing these since SGFG and imma keep doing it till the day i die!!

Red Desert - OOF harmonies okay I see you !! Intro is hella soulful don’t tell me I’m about to cry ALREADY guys… okay that bass in the bg is thicccc and I’m living for it OOF AND THEN THE CHORUS HITS AND THOSE DRUMS BITCH THIS SONG IS SO GOOD ON JUST THE FIRST LISTEN Y’ALL AHHHHH and then that TRANSITION from chorus to second verse my mans ashton did not disappoint !! Guys I’m really feeling this song holy shit it’s so good. Bitch this RED in the bridge is rly TEASING ME like bitch KEEP GOING!!!!!!!!!! Low key this song sounds like it’s 90% saying “red desert” over and over but I’m not complaining issa bop and a half !!! AHHH THAT ENDING AND THEY REALLY WENT TO A LOWER NOTE THAT WAS SO GOOD if that ain’t my fave song on the album i’ll be hella shook. Rating: 10/10 obviously

No Shame - I’ve liked this song since the very first time I heard it it’s actually such a bop. I can’t wait to drive around with this song blasting in my car. I LOVE when Luke says “Go on and plaAaAaAce me” it’s so pretty!!! Rating: 9/10 I just wish the bridge had something different I’m not a big fan of sos ALWAYS doing slowed down choruses for bridges and once you notice it it’s hard to stop lol

Old Me - I wasn’t a huge fan of this song the first time I heard it and genuinely didn’t think it’d grow on me AT ALL, but even after the second listen I really liked it, and I’ve really come to appreciate, like, the fan service message behind it? And that music video just made me love it more. The thing I didn’t like initially and still am not a huge fan of is how autotune-y the song sounds. I know everyone uses autotune, but imo it’s way too noticeable in the song to the point where it sounds a little unpleasant once you catch it. Rating: 8/10

Easier - Okay to be honest, I hate this song LMAO like one time I was crying in the shower while I was listening to my music on shuffle and this song came on and I literally stopped crying to change the song and then went back to crying daskjfkaljl Honestly the verses are really catchy and I like the prechorus but god I DETEST the chorus so fucking much it’s so fucking annoying and that’s low key like most of the song,,, I don’t even wanna finish the song but imma force myself to lmaooooo Rating: 3/10

Teeth - I love the bass at the beginning I’m such a slut for thicccc basses. I also like how crisp? Luke’s voice sound initially idk if that’s like a weird thing to say lol. I also hate the chorus here but not as much as Easier and the other parts of the song def make up for it. Rating: 6.5/10

Wildflower - This song was also like Old Me to me where I didn’t really love it at first but really liked it the second time. It’s definitely not gonna be a favorite of the album or a song I’m probs gonna remember forever but I bet it’s gonna be a BOP at concerts which is always appreciated. PLUS I love that Calum is singing he has a very unique voice I think. Also side note I justopened the livestream and it’s a hot mess lmaooo Ash rly fucking fucked up and needed to move it onto Cal lmaoo here I thought I was in sync with everyone smh. Rating: 7.5/10 with room to grow with more listens i’m assuming

Best Years - Anyways moving on from the livestream mess from these kids who don’t know technology,,, oof first impressions: sounds like same vibes as ghost of you?? I love the line “I’ll build a house out of the mess” or whatever. The part where he sings “best yeeaaarrs” is uhhh kinda weird? I thought that when Luke sang this on live but I thought it might sound better on the track but lmao nah I still think it sounds awkward tbh. But the verses are cute. Oof that instrumental was so long I legit stopped paying attention dafkdasjlk OOF OOF OOF THAT PART WHEN THE INSTRUMENTS KICKED IN okay I live for that. Song is kinda short so it gives me vibes of Lie To Me + Ghost Of You in terms of vibe (not lyrics). Rating: 6/10

Lover of Mine - Okay acoustic song of the album icu icu “Butterfly lies chase them away” interesting I like that  “dance around the living room” 👀 oof this pre-chorus is really good I’m such a slut for good prechoruses !! Luke’s voice sounds so soothing and smooth but the drums in the background in the second half are a little? Much? I don’t know maybe they’ll grow on me… I really like the lyrics of this song, I didn’t focus completely on everything but,, dare I say,,,, it might be some of their strongest writing yet??!? Omg I love love love these instrumentals near the end esp the piano sounds so beautiful and kind of reminded me of the interlude after San Francisco. Overall I think this song was honestly very beautiful. Rating: 8/10

Thin White Lies - more bass yessss it sounds so good,, are these lyrics about depression? Ehhh not feeling this chorus at all, too much going on and it’s just not a bop and that’s my only criteria for liking songs lmaoo. This song is giving me Empty Wallets + Babylon vibes kind of? Which isn’t rly my favorite vibe in songs tbh it’s just not for me, I don’t think it’s a bad song, though. “I don’t really like me anymore” :((((( mood Rating: 6/10

Lonely Heart - That one two three was so hot ngl,,, ANOTHER acoustic song?? Okay okay interesting. WOAH WHEN THEY CAME IN together god I love that and this OH OH OH part sooo catchy yesss okay also smth I’ve noticed 5sos doing a lot: quiet beginning (or quiet verses) and loud/bop-y choruses… that’s like half the album look me in the eyes and tell me I’m wrong !! It’s the equivalent of YB being mostly normal guitar verses and then instrumental pre-choruses lmao at least this I like a lot more WOAH THAT BRIDGE???????? WHO IS SINGING THAT IS THAT MICHAEL? I literally don’t recognize whose voice that is has it been that long since I heard his voice am I tripping?? But either way that was really cool. The song overall was pretty? Plain but not at all bad and it’ll definitely grow on me with more listens. Rating: 7/10

High - last song im so sad ahhh oof that sound it sounded like Michael? And it was umm very ear orgasmic lmao weird to put two songs that start like that one after the other tho but whatever. Woah the way Luke sang “highly” was so angelic !!! This is very acoustic-y too, but it seems like it’s truly mostly the same vibe throughout. Oof Calum’s harmonies sound so good. I also like the background “Ah”s this song sounds very angelic and pretty. I really like the way he sings the lyrics like “I hope you think of me high… think of me highly” and the part after that kind of mirrors that line. Not a huge fan of the lyric saying your friends just want you to yourself oof friends don’t like imma be honest that line was kinda cringy lmaoo But this song was very pretty, though honestly I doubt I’ll listen to it much or remember it just cause slow songs aren’t my cup of tea, but I can really appreciate the song for what it is and it was enjoyable to listen to. Rating: 8/10

Unrelated: I like that the album isn’t crazy long like every other album of theirs. I much prefer concentrating on 12 great songs than making 16-20 and then inevitably them hating/ignoring a few of them cause they’re like,, way worse than the rest of the album

I liked a lot of the songs and I’m sure I’ll like them even more with more listens, but the only ones I really LOVED were Red Desert and No Shame. It’s honestly a fantastic album, I just don’t think it fits my personal vibe. I’m very proud of the boys!! I really think it’s some of their best work. (Besides Easier,,, she can choke 💀💀)

6: favorite place: i like that he’s saying that his favorite place is the person and being with them. and that he wants them there when he’s feeling low safe: this one sounds to me like it goes with wake up sunshine and melancholy kaleidoscope bc its talking about the listener getting away to feel better. it sounds like it’s telling you to let go of the past and move forward

Luke has a massive crush on her, either before she shows up or when she does show up and he’s thinking “shit” lmao. So when they get really shitfaced, he says something on camera about her & gradually starts hitting on her until he asks her out lol

(Luke’s POV)

One of our strong points as a band, besides creating and performing music we believe in, is how we interact with our fans. They know us, they know we're up for a good time and we don't shy away from making fools out of ourselves. The Cocktail Chats seemed like a good idea to get it all together in one project. That was until I found out who was directing and filming.

"She should be here any second" Ashton scrolled through his phone. We were waiting for the crew to set up the cameras, lighting and audio at his kitchen, and we'd gotten there a few hours before just to help him clean up. 

"Who?" I made the dumb mistake of asking. Michael, Calum and Ashton looked at me wide-eyed with the biggest looking frown on their faces. "What?"

"Are you fucking serious? We discussed this weeks ago, mate" Michael shook his head. He immediately started laughing when I didn't reply, "okay, maybe your brain has been pushing it to the back so you didn't shit your pants every day we got closer to filming." Ashton laughed along and high-fived our guitarist. None of them answered my question, though.

I looked for Calum's face, but he didn't help me out either. 

The doorbell rang, "she's here!" Ashton smiled and got up from his spot on the kitchen table. 

"This is going to be good" Michael laughed under his breath before pushing himself off the countertop and walking towards the front door behind Ash. "Hey!" I heard him yell in excitement and a few other voices greeting them. "Hey man, you drove everyone here?"

"Yeah, yeah, I did. I wasn't going to miss this, you four getting drunk and discussing music?" Alex's voice was unmistakable, and I was glad he'd come around, "wouldn't fucking miss it, also I wanted to help. Where are the other two? We need to set all this equipment."

"Cal! Luke! Don't be dicks and come help out"

When I got to the front door and saw Ashton's arm around her shoulders, her hands holding a camera tripod, I felt the colour fade from my face. 

Maybe Mike was right.

"Can you move a little bit closer to the mic, Cal? Please?"

I saw her giving directions, saw her being her charming professional self. Carrie seemed to have everything under control but never stopped being the lovely person she is. When Ashton stood next to her, asking her about how they'd bring the concept to life, she explained her vision with such eloquence that I decided I could listen to her talk about her work for hours. She was a smart, creative, kind person. I was crushing so hard on her.

"Keep the drool to a minimum," I felt someone nudge my shoulder and saw Alex with a smug smirk behind me, getting ready the shots and cocktails we were about to drink. "You're not subtle, Luke. And I worry about how you'll act when you've got some drinks in you."

I rolled my eyes, "I can be professional, mate. Thanks for the confidence boost, though."

"I'm just saying," he laughed.

"Everyone does a shot and then we start with introductions, sounds good?" Carrie smiled from behind the camera. "Ashton, you go first. And... we're rolling."

The red light lit up and I felt my hands starting to sweat. I only needed to play it cool, just for a couple of hours. I'd been drunk before, and I'd been drunk before around her as well. It never went bad, but maybe because Cal had to drag me out of the party before I embarrassed myself. 

"Let it begin..."Ashton did a shot and the rest of us followed suit. I tried to be cool and impress her by being expressionless as the burning alcohol went down my throat. 

It didn't work.

"Hello, I'm Ashton, I'm the drummer in the band..."

"Hello, for everyone out there who doesn't know who I am, I'm Calum Hood..."

"I'm Michael, I play guitar in 5 seconds of summer..."

"I'm Luke..." my brain completely betrayed me when I saw her smile from the other side of the camera, "I'm NOT 6'4, I'm 6'2 at best..."

The more drinks I got in me, the sloppier I got, the stupider I got, the more I embarrassed myself. 

Oh god, she was so pretty when she laughed at my dumb jokes. 

"Can you tell him to say it without the word genius?" I heard her faintly over the loud mess we had going on. Ashton repeated the question I swear I saw a smirk on her face.

Of course, I messed up, again.

"I think we need a break" 

"I think we need like 3 breaks," Mike was slouched on the floor next to the camera, "I can't concentrate for shit. Hey, man! When did you get here?"

The kitchen was quickly getting more crowded. When Ashton said that he started a party because he got drunk, he wasn't joking. From 8 people, we were now at 25. My words were starting to spill out of my mouth without any filter and I was partly worried that I would profess my undying love for her in front of everyone. But I was also feeling a bit confident, every time I made her laugh or blush -even faintly- I felt good. Maybe she liked me as well.

"You want a drink?" I offered her a glass of some cocktail we were drinking. Carrie smiled at me and showed me the half-empty glass in her hand. "Oh, you already have one. You want another one after that?"

"Luke! Stop giving her drinks, mate! You're so unprofessional"

Ashton laughed from the other side of the kitchen, slurping the rest of his cocktail, "we're discussing music while we're getting drunk, Cal. I think professional flew out the window a few hours ago"

She smiled at me and sipped the rest of her drink. Was I imagining things or was she maintaining a playful eye contact with me? Was it my vivid desires playing tricks to my drunken mind or was she running her hand up and down my arm? "I like you in this shirt, it suits you" she whispered.

I think my heart almost stopped beating.

"Guys, you can do it. Only two more songs, alright?"

Michael and Cal made their way around the kitchen, trying to get everyone either to stay quiet or to go party on the backyard. Ashton was bopping his head to the beat of Empty Wallets.

The first piano part has always reminded me of N'Sync's Bye Bye Bye, and since we were all pretty shitfaced by now, decency had left the room a while ago. 

"I'm not gonna play anymore because that is fire"

"Wow"

"Pure Fuego"

"You're gonna burn down your house, Ash"

I could see Carrie trying to contain the laughter as we all teased Ashton.

"Thank you, audience participants. That was very supportive."

I sat next to her as the rest of the band did their part of the video. I saw Alex's cheeky grin at me, and Mike's eyebrows wiggle at me when Carried shifted in the stool and subtly brushed her body against mine. I thought my body wouldn't be able to take that much heat.

We had finished talking about Ghost Of You and now we were doing the Deluxe tracks of the album. But it was likely that none of that footage was going to end up in the actual videos. We were absolutely smashed. Michael had to go out to take some air, Cal went out for a smoke and Alex and Ash followed to spend some time with all the people they had invited over.

It was just me and Carrie.

"Alright, Luke. Monsters Among Men. What's it mean?"

"Er..." my mind was racing five hundred thoughts at the speed of light. Her hair had been put up in a ponytail because the temperature in the room had gone up quickly in the past 20 minutes. She had a few strands of hair stuck with sweat to her skin and the cleavage exposed by her v-neck shirt was glistening. I couldn't focus. 

She gave me a sly smile, "are you gonna talk, or?"

"You're cute" I blurted out.

"You're drunk"

The way her nose crinkled when she teased me, the way the lighting hit the side of her face, the way she wiped the sweat off her forehead with two fingers... I needed to ask her out. "You're still cute when I'm sober, though"

"Wow, real smooth, Hemmings"

"I try"

Her laugh was enough to give me the last boost of confidence.

"You wanna go out with me? Not tonight, I won't be good company if I'm about to throw up all the time"

Carrie laughed and turned the camera off. "Alright, no deluxe," she said under her breath, shaking her head. I could feel my throat starting to close, she was breathtaking and I had asked her out and she wasn't replying and oh my god did I make a dick move?

"I'm free next week," she smiled.

Thank fucking god, "it's a date then."

❥ who is your favorite character in 2?

Gob. Without a shadow of a doubt. Gob is the funniest fucking character in this show. Maybe I relate way too much to Gob. Gay? Very unstable? A dumbass? Kind of a dick? Kind of shit at so called talents? But very entertaining? Fuck yeah, that me. Also Gob is mineable tho. And I love him so fucking much. I listen to that damn fake album like all the time. It ain’t easy being white is so fucking funny shoot me with a nerf gun

❥ who is your least favorite character in 1?

That nazi fuckin ass who I’m not assed to remember or look up his name. Todd? The one who looks like Joel Egerton and is in that Star Trek black mirror episode. Also Bogdan and his fuckin eyebrows can like ,, choke on a dick. Oh and also Spooge and his wife. That poor kid man :(

It’s weird because the character I hate so much, and think is despicable is ,, Walter. But he’s not my least favourite because I love the way he’s written, you know?? This question is hard when there’s only literally like ,, a handful of actually morally good characters in the show.

  2.07 I think !! Okay I love Anne but like I literally don’t remember too good what exactly happens in each episode but this is the one with Aunt Josephine and this is just very gay and I love it and it’s WONDERFUL

Also I love any episode that has a lot of focus on Jerry bc I love him

Also any Bash and Gilbert centric episode is pretty kickass

❥ what is your favorite season of 5?

  Season 4! I nearly said season 5 because two of my favourite episodes are in it (dog days are over + free churro ,, god damn these two hit home) and also rami malek is in it but .. season four has the old sugarman place, time’s arrow, ruthie and hooray! Todd episode .. and all in all this has like one of the best narratives throughout and ugh this just ,, hits home in so many fuckin areas!! And hollyhock is one of the best characters ever and aghhh.. And this has the most growth in bojack and agh ,, the end of this one is just so.. I cried.

❥ who is your favorite couple in 3?

 Hopper/Joyce. These two are just so sweet. Also David and Winona are so pure too. Like .. this is all just perfect ughhhh!!Please just take Hopper on a fucking date. I’m fucking begging you. Take Jim on a fucking DATE. PLEASE. Jim my poor love :((

❥ who is your favorite couple in 2?

 There’s like no serious fuckin relationship in this show. And while it isn’t ,, rlly canon yet Gob/Tony ,, bc sAmE this is just ,, very gay and very funny lmao. But if we’re going canon George Michael/Egg (I actually forgot her name. I feel so bad. I’m calling her egg) because that shit is comedic gold.

❥ what is your favorite episode of 1?

U G H so difficult !! Here are my top 4 because this is too hard:

-Fly : because this shit is chock full of symbolism and character development and revelations and you could write a full thesis about this episode. It’s so ,, self contained and dialogue heavy but you could analyze and dissect this for days. Which I love !!

Pilot: because it’s the perfectly crafted pilot. It’s perfect as a pilot. What more can I say.

-Ozymandias: SHIT GOES DOWN AND ITS GReat

-Felina: PERFECT CONCLUSION! PERFECT !! So fucking satisfying. Ends each character’s story so well. Also the song. Perfect. Ugh. Ties everything together perfectly. Ugh. This show is beautiful.

    UGH Here are my top 5 because I can’t choose

- Free Churro (the best fuckin monologue,,)

- The Old Sugarman Place (oh dear god it’s crying hours, also the song lin Manuel writes for this episode is bomb and makes me sob)

- Time’s Arrow (crying hours again)

- Dog Days Are Over (this hit home way too hard. I reblog sets from this constantly.)

- Ruthie (UGHHHHHH THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL and heartbreaking it ,, also hit home too hard :( )

  Season 1! It’s just all very fresh and innovative and just .. comedic gold. All of it. Fuck ,, I will never forget the first time I watched season 1 of arrested development.

I watched all 5 seasons in like ,, 2 months like ,, a year and a half ago. I was 15, and I started watching this show during my mocks lmao bad idea

 I watched it when it was new to Netflix after my dad was like , yo, you should watch this! And I was like, fuck yeah!! And then ,, I fell in love with it oof!!

❥ who is your favorite actor in 4?

Lucas Jade Zumann I think! Maybe slightly biased bc I loved him in 20th century women!

   Breaking Bad for sure. It’s regarded as one of the best shows of all time for a reason!!!! Just,, story and character wise ,, it’s all very beautifully crafted and the cinematography and the acting and the UGH ,, I literally watch so much video essays about this stupid fuckin show I LVOE IT

 Oh, man .. I really do love stranger things and it has like a. Really fodoof like storyline and overarching themes but like .. bojack is so real. It’s so ,, it cuts so so so deep. And it’s so moving even if half the characters are fuckin animals and called Princess Carolyn and Mister Peanutbutter. It’s just ,, it’s something else. So Bojack.

MY EPIC GRAHAM POST

ahhhhh sorry this took so long, the last few days have been crazy!!

this is going to be mostly about sunday in san francisco bc that was when i met graham :D. ummm okay, @roomeight and @explorerof-theunknown got to the venue around 2:30 and the only other person in line was this guy javier (@mirrorrball). i went to the bathroom around 3:30 and that was when graham arrived so i missed him WHICH WAS LAME!!! but anyways, so we sat around for the rest of the day and he came out again to get dinner but i was too nervous to say hi.

the venue was kinda lame and they made us stand 3 feet away from the stage bc they had photographers taking pictures (they left after the first song). so finally graham came out and here are some things that happened:

there was a red light inside his guitar and i believe lindsey asked what it was and he said that there was a sniper who was forcing him to sit there and play for us

when he played “alright” i said “alright alright alright” and he was like “WHAT DID YOU SAY?” and i repeated it and he was like “three alrights?? i don’t know... maybe two is okay” and then he heard lindsey and i joking about it and he was like “there is a very strange conversation happening over there” 

whenever anyone said anything he was like “what did you say???” and heather, lindsey, and i kept joking about asking him to play “oochy woochy” and we started laughing about it and he was like “it is disconcerting when people start laughing and you don’t know why” so we said “WE WANT YOU TO PLAY OOCHY WOOCHY!!” and he made the best face and was like “HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PLAY OOCHY WOOCHY!?!” as he gestured to the guitars on stage 

javier asked him to tell the story about how they both got new vans that day and graham told the story and then talked about his socks as well (JAVIER PLEASE POST THAT VIDEO)

he kept saying that every song was “semi-autobiographical” and during “it’s all blue” the lighting person changed the lights for each color in the song, so what he was singing was literally happening so i asked “was that semi-autobiographical??” and he said “well it isn’t really about anything is it?” and then lindsey said “PROPS TO THE LIGHTING GUY!!” and graham was like “DID THEY CHANGE THE COLORS ALONG WITH THE SONG?!?!?!?!” and we were like YEAHHHH!!!!! and he said he didn’t notice bc he was trying to concentrate on not messing up

someone shouted for him to play “mountain of regret” and he played a little bit of it but couldnt remember the rest

after “flights to the sea” amanda said she wanted to play that song at her wedding and he said he would come play it for her

when he introduced “can’t find my way home” i said “this is my mom’s favorite song of all time” and he said “this is for your mum then” I DIED :’)))))))

i can’t remember which song it was where he looped some of the vocals and then asked if we heard the ghosts singing and there were these weird stained glass portraits all around the venue and i was like “were the ghosts some of them??? (pointing to the portraits)” and he was like “oh yeah! those are kinda creepy!!” and then there were two panels that didnt have portraits and he said they were the ghosts and had flown out of the panels. and then lindsey pointed to the carved cherubs above stage and was like “WERE THEY ONE OF THOSE NAKED BABIES!?!?” and graham was like “aghhhhh i don’t like that” and made a face 

graham noticed that we were standing back from the stage and asked why there was a moat around the stage and we told him why and he said he was worried he might fall in the moat. we kept inching up to the stage though so by the encore we were all at the stage

AFTER HE PLAYED “MISS AMERICA” i asked if he was the one who yells “MICHAEL” in the recording and he told us first that he had just recently had lunch with michael and that yes it is him but it is two recordings, the first recording is him about to do his vocals and then michael came in and he yelled “MICHAEL!!” and then the second recording is of him listening to the first recording and then giggling when he heard himself yell “MICHAEL!!” and that the two recordings are layered on top of each other in the track

when he left before the encore everyone ran to the stage and started pounding on the stage and screaming it was awesome (even though the venue was only half-full)

he messed up during “in the morning” and yelled “OH BOLLOCKS” and then apologized after for swearing

before one of the encore songs (i can’t remember which) javier asked if he could play “bugman” on that guitar so he played the beginning riff of “bugman” for us which sounded so badass even on acoustic :D

AFTER THE SHOW he came out and signed everyone’s shit, some people brought every blur album for him to sign and he signed all of them. here are some things that happened:

when we ran over to where he came out he saw me and smiled and waved at me

jeremy and amanda apologized for “bugging him” and he said “NO!! YOU WERE GREAT!!!”

he signed javier’s vans and drew a little dude singing :D

lindsey also apologized for bugging him and he again said “NO!! i like when people talk to me bc i never know what to say! this was one of the best crowds on the tour!!”

when i came up to get my shit signed he went “you!!! YOU!!! were chatting with me like we were in the front room!” and i LITERALLY DIED

i brought my “escape song/mountain of regret” 7″ single and he went “mountain of regret! i gotta learn how to play that song!”

his friend chuck came out and he gave him a massive hug and was like “IT WAS SO NICE TO SEE YOU CHUCK!!! TEXT ME WHEN YOU GET HOME!! TEXT ME SO I KNOW YOU GOT HOME OKAY!!” and then he turned to us and was like “DO YOU KNOW WHICH CHUCK THAT IS!??!?!?!” and we were like ??? and he was like “CHUCK FROM THE COMPANY!!!! YOU KNOW!!! CHUCK FROM THE COMPANY FROM LOOK INSIDE AMERICA!!!!!” :’)))))

someone gave him a drawing they did and he was like “WOW!! THIS IS REALLY GREAT!!!” 

someone asked how he was liking san francisco and he said the city kinda freaked him out but that the audience was AMAZING (he said we were one of the best a couple times :’)))))

this british guy was talking to him and being kinda obnoxious and when he said goodbye and left graham made a face at him and it was so fucking funny

AHHHHH SORRY THIS IS THE LONGEST POST!!! i’ll do a post about LA tomorrow, which was also amazing, but SF was much more chill and yeah i talked to him a lot and it was fucking unreal and one of the best days of my life kadlfadsklfj;dlskfjlk;a

ahhh okay at first my bias was jongin?? bc i usually like the dancers? and i was watching a lot of exo-k so i didn’t even know about jd but like... i watched a couple of lives and his voice just got me... and then of course all those ‘try not to fangirl’ challenges that sucked the life out of me

What’s one song from your bias group that can always make you happy?

i love love love replay! especially the live ver. where they all cried... i cry everytime i hear it too?? and the whole lucifer album also (surprise!! my bias group isn’t exo lmao)

right-handed! i can write w my left hand but not for long periods of time

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

i’ve only been to two :( both of them were incredible though! i saw yanni live & a classical concert by zubin mehta + the australian world orchestra and !!!! mesmerizing experiences! now if i could just see tsfh i’d die happy

What’s your favorite film genre and what are some movies you would recommend from it?

like i said i don’t like films much but,,, i do love space movies and historical settings! i can’t recall any besides interstellar which most people have probably watched

You went to a fansign and your bias signed your album and drew a special note + a little doodle just for you. What does the note say and what’s the doodle? Do you show it off to everyone when you get home or do you tuck it in a safe spot and take it out once in a blue moon to reminisce alone?

oh boy considering there’s only a month and a half left... finish my ongoing series, be done with all my school stuff and ready for my exams in january, and organize the trip i want to go on with my friends after graduation!

What is your dream job?

i wanna be a teacher or a professor! maybe go around the world and teach in poorer regions? i actually have this dream to start an organization for volunteer teaching in low-income areas around the world. after i retire, i want to run a cafe/library in a really secluded place.

The Masked Singer Season 3 Episode 10: It’s Super 9 Time! (April Fools Episode Commentary and Guesses)

Hi my fellow Masked Singer peeps! It’s finally Super 9 time! Nick Cannon has been talking about this for forever and everyone wants to be here... so here we are! Half of the contestants are gone and now we have 9 left (well after this post it’s 8, but you get the picture). So, since I have so many to cover (9 is way harder than 5 or 6 when it comes to detail), I am going to follow a tighter format with me only mentioning the Super Clue and April Fool’s clue after the performance. I will also mention judges’ guesses just bc most of my guesses haven’t changed (except 1, you’ll see). Ok, so let’s get started... 

Disclaimer: There will be a ton of spoilers so don’t read if you haven’t caught up on the show. Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you.

So, how the Super 9 works was that each group (A,B, and C) performs and of the 3 contestants, the ones who were in the bottom 3 were: White Tiger for Group A, Banana for Group B, and Rhino for Group C. 

Of those bottom 3, the one with the least votes who went home/got unmasked was:

White Tiger 

Ya, so is anyone really surprised at this point? His performance was um, ya, um... let’s just say my thought after watching was wtf man. I was a bit uncomfortable and hoping for it to end. He sang “I’m too Sexy” by Right Said Fred and let’s just say it was the strangest (and not in a good way) performance I have ever seen. Having said that, I have known for weeks who he is.... 

So White Tiger was revealed to be... 

ROB GRONKOWSKI (AKA GRONK) 

Super Clue: He was doing the floss dance and shooting a basketball while saying “Swish Swish.” Gronk appeared in Katy Perry’s Swish Swish music video, which also featured the Backpack Kid who popularized the floss dance. April Fools Clue: “I’m just not bronze, I’m brains. I even wrote a best selling book.” Gronk wrote a book called “It’s Good to be Gronk.” 

Judges’ Guesses: 

Jenny and Robin: Rob Gronkowski (they were right yay, thank God, finally the judges got it... well at least some of them) 

Ken: J.J. Watt (sigh... Ken is always wrong... not shocked) 

Nichole: Joe Maginello/John Cena (both wrong... sigh... Nichole is turning into Ken with the terrible guesses) 

Alrighty, now that we are done with that, let’s talk about the remaining 8 contestants in the order they performed:

1. Turtle 

Performance: Omg you guys know how in love I am with the Turtle and I was so happy and excited to see him perform once more, I really want him to win. In this performance, he sang Higher Love by Steve Winwood. I honestly loved it, it was amazing! He looked so cool and effortless maneuvering the stage. Also, it showed a lot of his vocal potential and I want to see more of what he can do with his falsetto and hitting the high notes, because he just gets better and better. Can’t you tell I just love him? 

Anyways, having said that, my guess still stands as: 

JESSE MCCARTNEY 

Super Clue: Shown was a comic book titled “The Amazing Adventures of Shellboy” and it was priced at $10.13. He voices Robin in the animated series based on the comic book “Young Justice,” and it aired from 2010-2013, but it got renewed again in 2019. 

April Fools Clue: “I am not just known for one thing.” This one is too easy, he is not just a musician but is also an actor in various roles in both film and TV. 

Judges’ Guesses: 

Robin: Drew Lachey (ya, wtf, no) 

Ken: Brian Littrell (again, no... too simple to go the boy band route) 

Nichole: Nick Lachey (ok, Nichole, that was just lazy, going off of Robin and picking the sibling, again I say wtf no) 

Jenny: Chris Evans (woah, that one was way off of left field Jenny, almost a Ken guess) 

2. Kangaroo 

Performance: Ok, she isn’t my favorite ngl, but I can’t deny she is really good in terms of voice. However, this performance was not her best. Her voice was pretty shaky. The song, which was Not Ready to Make Nice by the Dixie Chicks, didn’t really show her entire vocal range I feel, but honestly if it is who I think it is, that’s a low key shady song choice, but I get the shade so I'm not mad. 

The person that I am referring to as my guess is: 

JORDYN WOODS 

Super Clue: Inflatable Kangaroo came out of her pouch and she said “alright dolls” = the inflatable kangaroo could be a reference to her younger sister who she refers to as her “mini-me” and the dolls reference is when she played a doll in Justin Roberts’s music video 

April Fools Clue: “I may be a kangaroo but I have never lived in Australia.” yup, self explanatory, the girl ain’t from Australia, and has never lived there. 

Judges’ Guesses:

Jenny: Amber Rose (holy crap, that was painfully close, especially with the Kardashian drama and connection she mentioned as her reasoning for her guess) 

Nichole: Leann Rimes (yikes, another really bad guess) 

Robin: India Arie (idk who she is, but seems like an ok guess)

3. Kitty 

Performance: Ok, ok, this is the one that I changed my mind about and it was such a hard pill to swallow to suck it up and say I am wrong and the Internet is right about this one. Every time I put my old guess on YT, (Lucy Hale) I always get “NO, IT’S *insert person I am about to mention in a moment*” and a bunch of people trying to convince me and I finally caved and agreed but that was because of one specific clue in particular, but we will get into that later. Her performance of Celine Dion’s “It's all coming back to me now” was so powerful and strong as are every Celine Dion song ever but to me it was her best performance to date and now I am clear on this new guess...

The new guess I have for Kitty that the Internet has nagged me about is: 

JACKIE EVANCHO (she’s from AGT, she sang opera as a like 7-year-old, well that’s how I remember her) 

Super Clue: The Tree from Season 2 and her saying “Christmas is the most wonderful time of year” = she has 3 Christmas albums 

April Fools Clue: “I wasn’t dreaming when Robert Redford helped me get my first role.” = he got her the role in The Company You Keep when she was 12 years old. 

Judges’ Guesses:

Robin: Emma Roberts (no... that doesn’t sound like Emma’s voice) 

Jenny: Vanessa Hudgens (Vanessa can’t sing like that either) 

Nichole: Nichole Richie (Really? Ya, I don’t think so.) 

Ken: Avril Lavigne (You’re kidding, right?) 

4. Banana 

Performance: Ok, so this performance was much different from his previous ones. I feel like he is starting to show more of his true self and not hiding his voice as much. With the song “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, he showed more rasp in his voice than he did before which kind of made it more obvious to who it could be. 

That ever so obvious guess for Banana is... 

BRET MICHAELS 

Super Clue: A mullet was shown and Bret Michaels isn’t a stranger to the mullet, it’s a signature to his image 

April Fools Clue: “Blue collar means many things. I’m a funny guy, but not stand-up funny.” Ya, easy again, Bret Michaels is the lead singer of Poison and he does have a sense of humor, but he isn’t a comedian nor has he done stand-up at all. 

Judges’ Guesses:

Ken & Nichole: Brad Paisley (not their worst guess, but it’s too country of a singer... Banana fuses the country with a bit of rock) 

Jenny: Bret Michaels (she’s getting it... yay Jenny is catching on) 

Robin: Billy Ray Cyrus (see, this would have been a good guess, if he hadn’t have sung a Billy Ray Cyrus song in a previous round) 

5. Frog 

Performance: He sang “Jump” by Kris Kross and again he isn’t my favorite but he is pretty entertaining. For some reason, he is my mom and my friend’s favorite, which I don’t get. Whatever, anyways, this performance was fun and energetic and he is a great rapper/dancer what can I say? I feel the same way about him as I did about Kangaroo. Anyways, he is to easy to figure out...

My guess for Frog is still... 

BOW WOW (aka Chad Moss) 

Super Clue: Knight Armor= he was in a movie where he was a basketball player for the LA Knights 

April Fools Clue: “I am actually not a trained dancer at all.” = ya, duh, he’s never been known for being one either.

Judges’ Guesses:

Ken: Sisqo (what? just because of one irrelevant clue, you choose that Ken... le sigh) 

Jenny: Lil Romeo (meh... I guess that’s kinda close but no) 

Robin: Omarion (again, like Jenny’s guess... kinda close but not there yet) 

6. Night Angel 

Performance: With her performance of Rise Up by Andrea Day (which is A+ song choice), she proves that she is one of the strongest vocally in the competition. However, that's it, she doesn't dance or entertain as much as some of the other contestants do. Nevertheless, she has an insane vocal range and I still am sticking with my gut on this one... 

I am convinced Night Angel is.... 

Kandi Burruss 

Super Clue: Tricycle= reference to either her 3 kids or her high school, Tri-Cities High School (or both who knows?) 

April Fools Clue: “I am not just a voice, I am a mogul.” yup, self-explanatory, this lady does it all. She has a restaurant, a makeup line, a line of adult toys (let’s say that to keep it clean and PG) and has done multiple spin-offs of RHOA following her life, so mogul indeed.

Judges’ Guesses:

Ken: Tiesha Campbell (not the worst guess from Ken but still it’s a no from me) 

Jenny: Brandi (idk man.... idk who that is) 

Robin: Tamar Braxton (omg so close yet so far)

7. Rhino

Performance: Ok, so he was trying to be upbeat with What a Man Gotta Do by Jonas Brothers and I appreciate the effort, it wasn’t bad by any means. He does have a fantastic voice, but this was not his strongest performance. He did do a little dance move there and it was kind of everything ngl, but his strength is ballads. They just fit his tone so much better, but having said that, he took me a while to figure out but I feel good about my guess...

I feel like the Rhino is... 

BARRY ZITO 

Super Clue: A Slot Machine= he was born in Las Vegas (and he also got a baseball move called the three-quarter slot or something like that but I don't know sports so I am not good at these kind of things)

April Fools Clue: “I am not nearly as tall as you think I am.” The Rhino mask is as tall as White Tiger (Gronk is 6 feet 6 inches for comparison) but the mask adds more height to Barry Zito, who is only 6′ 2″ 

Judges’ Guesses:

Nichole: Vince Gill (meh... that’s a pretty ok guess but ya not there yet) 

Jenny: Derek Jeter (what?! I get baseball referencing but he can’t sing, he has no albums, come on Jenny do better) 

Robin: Duff McKavin from Guns N’ Roses (pretty ok of a guess too, but think less rock, more country... this would have been a more suitable guess for Banana) 

8. Astronaut

Performance: Last but not least, another favorite of mine, we are starting off with a favorite and ending with another one. He freaking Rick rolled everyone (Google it if you don’t get the whole Rick Roll thing.. too long of a post to explain) with “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Ashely, but it was the best Rick Roll ever like I can listen to his voice sing anything (objectively it’s a pretty darn good song if you remove the meme aspect to it). Damn, bro, like his falsetto in the song was amazing. Like I said for Turtle, I wanna see more of his range. Also, like he freaking spoke in his performance unfiltered voice and everything and it was so obvious who it is like how are the judges not getting this? 

The lovely guy I think the Astronaut is (yes I have a soft spot for the Astronaut, don’t make fun of me)...

Hunter Hayes (and mind you, I also have a soft spot for him too) 

Super Clue: Holding a record with a world on it breaking (breaking a world record)= we already spoke about this earlier but refresher this guy right here Mr. Hunter Hayes, ya him, broke the Guinness World Record for playing the most shows in most cities in 24 hours, with 10 being the number of cities he played

April Fools Clue: “I’ve never had traditional voice training” = easy, Hunter has said this in many interviews in the past and recently had issues with his voice so he got a vocal coach to fix it 

Judges’ Guesses:

Ken: JC Chasez from NSYNC (really Ken? Boy Bands again? Are you really that basic and that clueless?) 

Jenny: David Archuleta (not bad of a guess, pretty ok, but the voices don’t really match up) 

Nichole: Ryan Tedder (again, not bad, but it is too obvious that it is like mind blowing they aren’t getting it)
