#harry's image vs reality

I forgot how exhausting it was when Harry is publicly "single" bc fandom starts tracking every skinny bitch who's in a 5 mile radius of him

I was rewatching louis' doc with a friend and when we got to H and L hugging I was super happy and smiling like an idiot since I'm a larrie. my friend isn't (I'd call her a casual 1D fan and a harry fan) and she said that the hug was "fucking heartbreaking". I was confused and she explained that from her pov it was just a "polite hug" (don't know how else to translate it in english sorry), something they did because, even though they're not friends anymore, it was the end of everything, and it was just what had to be done. since she believes they used to be best friends and aren't anymore, she saw it as something that was really sad/melancholic. she told me that the hug made her think about how maybe in another universe they never stopped being friends, and that it made her want to cry. and since then I've been thinking a lot about how that hug, or just H and L in general, must look to people who don't know their history, idk why... and it just makes me really sad??
sorry for bothering u with this, I just really needed to tell someone. hope you're having a great day <3
Hi, darling. I think the fact that everyone views everything through their own lens of beliefs, experiences, and desires is why so much of what Harry and Louis do publicly has an element of plausible deniability.
I can see why she’d come to the conclusion she did, given her beliefs. It’s interesting to see, though, how firmly people will hold on to that once they’re presented with another way to see things.

i do truly marvel harry's ability to commentate and critique the music industry so effortlessly while wrapping it up as a song that at surface level is just the rockstar stereotype of being so horny and drugged up. like talking about the extreme tangled and brutal web of the industry and its reality while also juxtapositioning his own perceived image and how it's specifically crafted for this particular and how he feeds into that image through his music, which surface level audience perceives as his reality but in actuality he's not giving in to the image, he's just using the existing image to further his image god i could go on and on about the harry vs the industry/image/rockstar stereotype agenda

Hi! I got bit depressed after I read some opinions about H when it comes to stunts/womanizer & sex symbol image yesteday. He’ll probably do stunts forever and he “got comfortable” accepting the image in order to be successful and winning awards ‘cause sex sells. Like yeah, it sucks but I also like to aknowledge that this so-called womanizer boy wears banana dick 24/7(/365) on his neck, waves with LGBT flags everytime he can, signals blowjob when performing Medicine. And when stunting it’s always the Bad KisserTM. Like yeah, he could have choosen the safest path but I feel like he always gives us hints of who he (probably) is when it comes to his sexuality and he’s aware of his image vs. reality. So yeah, it sucks how the situation is but I’m also optimistic ‘cause there’s so much evidence about his queerness and he keeps giving us more of that no matter if he’s currently stunting or not.
Harry is proud of being queer and I think at the end of the day it all comes down to that and how much he loves expressing that. It's just very unfortunate that what makes him so "interesting" in the media is everything he is not.

Because there’s such a contrast between the way Louis was portrayed in 2015 and 2016 for example vs. today, with partyboy Louis (the Louis who’d get papped with girls and had articles written about how many women he’d taken to his hotel room) being replaced by this almost blank canvas. Perhaps even a blank canvas for people to project their own feelings of desire onto. Yes the media have mentioned his ‘girlfriend’ in interviews and such (before the break-up was announced) but in general his image is mostly of someone who is sexually-unavailable. He’s not marketed as someone desirable and that’s likely a conscious decision, his focus is on the music and that’s totally fine. I also think partly it helps him retain some kind of ambiguity around his sexuality which, understandable! Do what you need to do!
I don’t fully agree with you on this. I don’t think there’s any space with the sexual projections on Louis. For instance, I’ve never seen a y/n x Louis in my life EVER. Even the simple fact Party Boy downright ended up with a kid seems very categorical to me. They didn’t give you the multiple one night stands, the multiple dating rumours, the multiple public partners. He’s the guy who settled down with a girl at 18, broke up, lost the track for a couple of months and coincidentally in that time had a child with a social parasite girlie (what are the chances of this happening in reality omfg) and then went back to the usual gf. He’s not a blank canvas on this topic.
It should tell a lot the fact his own fans perceive him more as a big brother/bestie whom they like to call daddy when he shows a bit of his powerful boss aura. It’s probably an age issue too now. There’s a lot of difference between Louis, who is approaching 32 and the average fan (usually barely 20). And now that I think about it, this could explain why they tried to introduce the latest stunt. She was young, same age as a normal Louis fan, probably into the same stuff too. I’ve never thought it could be a way to reconnect with his fanbase and I’ll have to sit on this and think, but it’s just a possibility at this point lol
The thing is it didn’t work they way they hoped it would because they have been feeding people another Louis for ages. Yes, he was the menace with the best sex innuendos, they took that away. Yes, he was possibly the biggest flirt, they took that out of the brand. And that’s what you have now an insanely hot young man who has potentially every skill to be the daddiest mf in the biz who never talks about sex or shows any interest in it. The contrast with Harry is soooo striking. Like you don’t have a single song in Harry’s entire discography where there isn’t a sex related whatever. Music videos, interviews, just in general the things he says or does (pleasing everyone?)
It’s the polar opposites agenda.
Once you see it, you won’t get rid of it 💀

disco elysium spoilers
id love to read something on the similarities between harry's warped view of dora/dolores vs. the deserter's warped view of the insulindian phasmid, i felt like both can be described as, they've been fixated on this concept so hard it's become unreal. i say i want to read about it because i do not even know where to start about reading essays anyone has made about the game lmao and that is my favorite part of fandoms lately, but at the same time i have about what felt like 5% of the story after 1 playthru.
it could be a stretch but it really struck me how the deserter was acting like he could not see the phasmid but his body was reacting to it, his mind was broken but once he stopped focusing on it to talk to harry & kim he became more lucid and eloquent. ofc there's the fact that it's emitting toxic shit but idk that is just 1 fact. a really wonderous creature appears and tells you things that even the grass was thinking, it's simply so mundane that humans barely could record it aside from those who obsessed and deified it almost. and then there is the deserter who is trapped with the phasmid and is basically overdosed on the wonder of it that his body is failing.
it reminded me of harry's situation with dolores dei where the image of this woman he was in love with was so twisted and warped into a deity that it makes him sick, physically mentally spiritually (your health and morale depletes and you can die even), that even the irrational, impulsive corners of his mind kept begging me to stop thinking about her and let it go. and it's over someone who he was not even married to despite believing this, ofc from false context clues he concluded to and all that... the mundane isn't bad at all but compared to the god that harry had in his head it was so incongruent
but to tie back in to the deserter's own story & the phasmid's effect (outside of the Toxin) here is a man who was recruited as a teenager to fight in a revolutionary war while also tasked with spreading the word of communism (i think, i hadnt finished a single major political quest and i had no idea they existed fsr, also i let klaasje go and harry mentions the may bells several times to no answer so...)
and when describing the fear he felt when hiding as his unit is killed he sounds like he's on the precipice of succumbing to the guilt of it all, and what drives him to stay as a personal arbiter of revachol and sniping those who would thwart a communist society from forming. within the terms of their world this also felt similar to the phasmid, the deserter had such a warped view he was clinging on to for a reason to keep living, that revachol could one day change in a way that justified all that hardship, that he became this unliving husk. like his dream of the revolution happening felt like a pipe dream at least at the old age he's at and specifically after being placed in the horrors of watching his country fall to greed and abuse & the fact that the communist rebels eventually became the RCM who side with moralintern, not to get overly pessemistic but it was an Unreal dream. that he is so fixated on being able to be the sole creator of a true revolution by his sniping which didn't even fully believe since he sounded like he was condemning them to doom anyways. and the phasmid reveals itself and he becomes paralyzed... at the same time kind of overdosing on his beliefs to cover the horrific guilt he felt, to the point that he was a justice enacting ghost
i found it interesting too that both the phasmid and the flowers originated from the same place, and if not, share the same title (insulindian). kind of a mundane thing elevated to dream status, the lily is pinned to soldiers sent away, a good luck charm for entering such a horrific reality or a symbol of strength and it was used on both sides of the war. the phasmid turned into a symbol for lena too of the love her husband had for her, i do want to believe he loves her outside of cryptids. really could not stop crying when kim said he saw the phasmid too and even immortalized it in a photo. i feel like both lena and harry found someone who believe in them as a person, and both revolve around the phasmid. making connections..
it's also cruel in a way, how the phasmid keeps the deserter alive despite giving harry so much hope so i don't know what to take away from that. i mean it is an animal but it was conscious and an observer for the war too and describes humans as simian butchers. if it means something like the flowers, did it believe the deserter could do his job right or he had the potential, or is it like. a belief taken to the excess corrupts no matter if it began in a good intention? harry only meets it once while the deserter was faced with it for years. harry's obsession with dolores after she leaves him, was longer than the amount of time he ever spent with her
BUT there is a massive connection i feel im missing and it's because i played the game like a dope i was far more concerned with the swallow & the hardcore & the cryptid search than the actual murder case lol or even the pale since i got scared of the moralintern being mentioned near the DJ teens and klaasje that i stopped clicking those related dialogue options under "find la responsibilité" (which is sooo funny given the game still told me at the end that i'm a bastard moralintern bitch) but there's no wrong way of playing everyone says. i mean i have to fuck with them eventually....

The orphaned king - a delight
Status: complete
Word count: 134k
Rating: explicit
Voldemort wins and the UK is plunged into darkness with purebloods at the helm. During his final year at Hogwarts Harry, the ostracized war orphan, opens eyes to the reality around him - social injustice, controversial guerilla tactics of the rebels and slavery of muggleborns masked as indenture. He will need to make choices that will change his course of life.
On top of that the new DADA teacher starts chipping away at Harry's façade of rebellious couldn't-care-less attitude.
The writer crafts their story free of clichés and offers unique take on horcuxes, prophecies and the light vs dark power struggle. All the characters have depth and strong, compelling reasons for their action. Even the canonically unredeemable characters like Bellatrix get an interesting backstory, showing in a believable way what made them into Death Eaters. The "good guys" don't hesitate to use lethal means potentially costing the lives of bystanders.
It makes the power struggle more nuanced and realistic with both sides of the conflict in the shades of grey. The AU is fully fledged, the oppressive regime is nearly palpable.
It's an emotional roller-coaster with a bittersweet ending giving depth to the "power of love" brandished so often in the canon.
10/10

What do you think is causing his midlife crisis? It's just that that kinda thing usually happens when a person becomes irrelevant, you know? Regardless of how good of a person he is, he's certainly not irrelevant. If I had to guess I'd say he got really spooked during quarantine because he realized how empty he is without his celebrity status and while he's always been ambitious and egotistical, his behavior the past 2 years has been so incredibly desperate and off putting. It just feels like a person trying to grab everything they can before having their plate taken away.
I don't know if he's quite there in a midlife crisis. His music and his tour are still very successful. If those start to fade then...
Harry to me has felt incredibly desperate since the start of his solo career. His first album, the image he tried to project, all of that felt very desperate to me at the time. Take me seriously! I am a grown up! I am so talented! I am basically like Prince or Bowie or Beyonce without the effort or work!
But I think with this album and these movies, he truly just wants it all. He wants that Oscar so so bad. He wants an EGOT. And the thing is, his career relies on his youthful looks. That is a reality. With him aging like this, you're going to see more and more fans start to drift away. He's meant to be doing five Eternals movies, but that would take him into his 30s. Imagine how bad he'd look then. So he's got to try and pack as much as he can in now, so that he can sort of "retire" and pretend he doesn't care about being less famous in a few years. Think of Justin Timberlake now vs in his 20s. Or any boybander in their prime vs their later years.
Perhaps there's a part of him that understands he's an imposter. That everything he's earned is undeserved. That his whole career is a house of cards. But that was all from inside his head, before the last few weeks when the internet seemed to unite to say that's exactly what his career and fame is. A house of cards. He's just not that good. He's laughable in many regards. I think if his movies don't sell as well as they need then we'll see a real sort of desperation in him. And an anger. When he doesn't get what he wants, he starts being angry, there's a petty sort of anger in him and I think we'll see that more in some way.

'Andrew Haigh’s All of Us Strangers begins with an establishing shot of London with otherworldly colors blossoming out of the everyday images. There’s something eerie about the cold blue skyline offset by the warmth of the sunset piercing through the apartment window of the main character, Adam (Andrew Scott). As far as setting a tone, these opening moments do wonders as a lonely screenwriter seems adrift in his life. We can assume there’s more to unpack in his mind and emotions that transcend the physical world, as insinuated through the uncanny sensation of the establishing images. Sadly, another sensation becomes clear as the film’s mysteries unfold; what starts with interest regresses and fizzles out.
It is unfortunate that the film doesn’t capitalize on its potential, because the initial set-up sets the stage for a deeply resonant tale of sexual repression spurred by parental neglect that never found culmination. Adam is a gay man and gets admonished by his neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal), whom Adam initially writes off. Adam visits his parents (Jamie Bell and Claire Foy) home to find they haven’t aged a day since he last saw them. In fact, they’re exactly how they were 30 years ago when they died in a car accident. As it becomes clear, Adam is retracing his past suffering. His interactions with his parents ache with loss and disconnection as it becomes clear his sexual orientation was something he never told them.
The groundwork the film begins with is rich in substance and could make for a deeply cathartic emotional exploration, if in the right hands. What kind of mental barriers has Adam created for himself that causes a disconnect from human connection? How can he come to grips with past trauma that intertwines with his personal loss and identity acceptance? However gripping these questions are, Haigh’s film settles instead for overtly melodramatic scenes that only go skin deep.
When Adam initially tells his mum that he is gay, and she reacts with surprise and confusion, we’re left with only the basic emotions. The feelings shine off the screen, thanks primarily to Foy and Scott’s splendid display of nervous, halting acting. Their performances convey more than the storytelling does, as we sense much they want to say that’s left unsaid. To what degree is any of this a figment of Adam’s imagination or an actual metaphysical experience? It is left for speculation. Sadly, it deprives us of the ability to delve into Adam’s emotional terrain, as what he’s grappling with is left only to the basics and nothing that comes to an enlightening revelation.
Part of the reason it feels like the film is always on the cusp of getting somewhere interesting is because each scene passes by with a gorgeous aesthetic. The images are something to marvel at, as complimentary colors of oranges and blues create dichotomies within the material. Reality vs. the ghostly, physical vs. emotional. As Adam and Harry ride in their apartment elevator, the mirror walls reflect their images for eternity, telling us that something about their characters is eternally present within them. For Adam, his pain becomes apparent, but Harry also confesses his distance from his family. We get a sense of how these two need each other to grow as people, but the depths of what they’re growing from remain complacent.
A question I had while watching the film was to what degree the film could’ve been told without Harry’s character. Much of the narrative comprises of typical ghost story clichés, like Adam seeing visions of his childhood self and jolting himself awake, mainly from the screeching of a train. At some point, Harry’s character feels present solely because someone needs to question Adam once he begins shouting at his nonexistent family members.
This is not to say these scenes are without merit. The cinematography by Jamie Ramsay, in combination with the production design by Sarah Finlay, conveys the mood and atmosphere of this emotional journey more than anything. When judged as a series of images and sounds, undeniable talent is on display, as the transcendent feeling between life and death literally glows on the screen. Coupled with good performances across the board by its cast, All of Us Strangers is a film with the right emotional beats, but slacks off in its poignancy. Director Andrew Haigh is no stranger to exploring time and the long-lasting effects of the past, as demonstrated by his excellent film 45 Years (2015). With this film, it feels like Haigh has regressed slightly in his exploration of the self and its relationship with the past.'

Am I the only one who was profoundly moved by how Harry handled the fan coming out to their father last night? The constant asking for consent, the fact that he kept 15k+ people waiting in absolute silence just because he didn’t want to make a spectacle out of something so private and was conscious of the fact that the dad might not react the way everyone expected. Whether or not that care is tied to him being part of the LGBT community (it is), it speaks so deeply about the kind of person he is: thoughtful, sensitive, gentle and kind. He’s always one step ahead when it comes to making whoever he’s interacting with feel loved, seen, and protected. Sure, he’s media trained down to his bones, but his is the kind of bone-deep kindness you just cannot teach.

Stay with me please, cause I’ve been reading about melting clocks and I’ve found some things.
One of them is about the meaning of melting clocks tattoos. We know that Louis and Harry have their story tattooed on their body and they know what those symbols mean. A melting clock tattoo can mean “wisdom. This is the meaning for anyone who is known to look outside the box.” “People will also get their melting clock tattoos to show that time passing does not bother them at all.” “Mystery is yet another great meaning that is often attached to the melting clock tattoo. You can be sure that people will wonder who you are if they see the melting clocks on your skin since it is such an interesting image and one that most people simply don’t understand.” He’s doing grey with the last one meaning tbfh. “The hands on the melting clocks are often pointing at a specific time that serves as a representation of something significant to the individual.” If you do maths, the 2 melting clocks result are 3,6,9. Something significant that we don’t know but okay.
The second is about Dalí - he was a surrealist artist and “Jokes, humor, sarcasm and wordplay play an important role in Surrealist art.” and that’s part of Louis’ personality. “Surrealists often mocked the trends and fashions of middle-class society in their paintings. (…) Perhaps Dali was similarly poking fun at the pocket watch trend in The Persistence of Memory (…) .” We know how much Louis loves of mocking trending things. Also, this “While the painting's true secret meaning is uncertain, Salvador Dali most likely knowingly encrypted all of these layers of historical, artistic, social and autobiographical meaning into this mysterious, enduring work of art. There may be even more layers of meaning hidden (…) that we haven't found yet.” Like, we’re well aware of that Louis, there are even things about the bears or JLY that we haven’t found yet.
Bonus: the twilight zone, which was something people thought about yesterday, is “an area where two different ways of life or states of existence meet.” Two different ways of life - he being queer and in a relationship vs he being straight with a son - 2 different realities that Louis is known for.
Bonus 2: There’ve been a lot of doors and there’s an idiom “when one door closes, another opens” and all the symbols can be interpreted as him being a target of a reality that he’s not part of during more than 10 years but he’s breaking all of that and he’s reinventing himself, he’s during a process of rebirth that will end with freedom.
Bonus 3: He googled ‘crazy symbols and theories’ and put them together to mess with us and creates a conspiracy theory.

THE GOLDEN RATIO
Golden Ratio can be found when you divide a line into 2 parts & the longer part divided by the smaller part is= to the sum of A+B divided by A,which both equal 1.618
This mathematical equation has been used & perceived ever since as a symbol of balance & perfection in many fields
Tumblr media
This ratio rules sequences, can be found in many shapes and forms and compositions, in art indeed, but in advertising too as the human desire to seek visual harmony.
If Harry and Louis include these elements are “just” methods to that PERFECTION. 🤩
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Check the list:

Bunnies 🐰

Louis’ merch
And probably a lot more if we look into proportions. So they haven’t invented this, they are not the 1st ones but…☝🏼
Why Louis wants us to look at this theory? Be lectured. BE READY. 👀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition, I’m sure the boys are playing w/different planes of reality: due to the surrealism hints & diff designs of the same elements: that red vs black spiral eye… almost look like this fandom turning a picture into opposites colors
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Duality: looking at the same thing under 2 different scopes. Image vs reality. Public vs private. 2 sides of the mirror. Two interpretations of the same thing. The constant balance.

this is a compilation of harry ~putting it in reverse~
Tumblr media
Harry lives a double life. His public persona is a straight male sex symbol, defined by stunt relationships, brands, and ingenuity. His true self contrasts in his gender identity, sexuality, desire for intimate connection with fans, and his Home with Louis. No matter how fake his media persona is, Harry Styles™ is still a reality he has to live in.
I believe Harry uses upside down or backwards imagery to show that things are not as they seem (Harry Styles™ vs H), and to signify the dual realities he lives in.
Through this post, I have strung together the theories of many to reference to the dual realities of Harry’s expression, the A-side and the B-side:
The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph records and cassettes; these terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The A-side usually features a recording that its artist, producer, or record company intends to be the initial focus of promotional efforts and radio airplay and hopefully become a hit record. The B-side (or "flip-side") is a secondary recording that typically receives less attention, although some B-sides have been as successful as, or more so than, their A-sides. [x]
Through this definition, Harry’s A side is his media persona because it is the most popularly seen side of his life. It is easy and obvious to see. Those of us willing to reverse the tape see a whole new message. When Harry references the reverse (or B side), it’s a
metaphor for what we’re given in the media and what you see at surface level. But the reverse…what you don’t see…the truth [read more] from @headscarvesandtattoos

Dorothrry
"Home is a place we all must find, child. It's not just a place where you eat or sleep. Home is knowing. Knowing your mind, knowing your heart, knowing your courage. If we know ourselves, we're always home, anywhere." -Glinda, The Good Witch
As we know, home is a central concept to both Harry and Louis. [read more] from @bluewinnerangel
In Wizard of Oz, “home” is a place that existed inside of Dorothy; she had the power to go home inside of her the whole time. For Harry and Louis, “home” means something similar: a private, internal reality that they are each other’s home. A reality they can access mentally/emotionally whenever they want.
Tumblr media
You Are Home newspaper ads
The wallpaper runs in both directions; it looks the same whether the text or the image is right side up. The archway and text are about (a private, internal alternate reality of) home, but the images refer to Harry’s House. Therefore, these ads express both the true and false realities.
Doors generally symbolize the threshold between here and somewhere else. Through the You Are Home campaign, Harry is letting us in to his internal reality through hints and clues behind the door. He is inviting us in, but it is up to us to walk through it.

Dimensions of Consciousness
According to @so-idialed-9 in this post, the use of arches, spirals, 369, and portal-like imagery by Harry and Louis are referencing a journey to a higher level of consciousness, which I interpret as an internal/mental alternate reality:
“In Louis' images, the sky or glass is shattering. Again symbolizing a new opening.”
“369 is a method to manifest your dreams because of what the individual numbers represent in numerology.”
“Arches symbolize a threshold, a decision to enter a new kind of time and space. Arches are very strong and thus offer protection, and they're portals that encourage you to move forward.”
Spirals are used “to represent a journey that leads to a higher level of knowledge about self and the world.”
Louis’ 369 merch imagery might also be referring to the alternate dimension in which he interacts with fans about his and Harry’s B-side:
“the boy on the ladder is in front of the shattered glass and he is spray painting Louis’ dead-eyed smiley face over the circular opening in the glass…The boy appears to have traveled through hole in the “Fourth Wall” of the Walls MV…we might interpret the space beyond the Fourth Wall as an alternate dimension…where artist and viewer interact.” [read more] from @genuinemusic

Psychedelics
We might also see the similarities in imagery & concepts between You Are Home, Shroom Bloom, and Alice in Wonderland as another version of a mental alternate reality, this time induced by psychedelics. [read more] from @skepticalarrie
“Sweet creature / We're running through the garden / Oh, where nothing bothered us."
Reminiscent of Dorothy and Alice entering dreamlike almost psychedelic alternate worlds that are bright and full of color and look to be whimsical, magical almost, gardens/alternate or parallel worlds full of flowers and colors and things that can't possibly be real. [read more] from @twopoppies

Harry’s egg/bubble
In the Fine Line album artwork, Harry is inside and in color (vibrant, full of life, dynamic), in direct opposition with him being outside and in black and white (static, lifeless). If we see these two images as Harry on the inside and outside of the same space/object, we might see it as two sides of the same coin, or dual opposing realities.

Mirror Writing & the Looking Glass
When Harry uses Eroda as the reverse of Adore, he is using mirror-writing. Literary figures such as Da Vinci used mirror-writing to represent a reverse in perception and to challenge the rigidity of the society and tradition.
The term mirror-writing is more closely associated with text; if we are referencing the reverse depiction of something else, such as a concept or visual, the term “looking glass” is used. The most famous example is “Through the Looking Glass” by Lewis Carrol, in which Alice goes down the rabbit hole into the flip reality of her world.
“When you look in a mirror, you see a backwards image of yourself, but it’s also representative of looking beyond the surface of the glass of the mirror. It symbolizes an alternate universe or place where things are contrary to the real world… anything that uses the looking-glass crosses over into a bizarre universe. It usually means unpredictability and strange happenings [and]…. symbolizes consciousness and its ability to reflect reality in reversed words and visuals in literature.” [read more] from @aliensyndrome
If we expand our view of Eroda from simply a mirror-writing perspective, we can see it as a looking-glass society:
“Everything about the town is odd and eerie. It discusses life and death. With it being the reverse term of Adore, then it flips the definition. Instead of adoration, it’s condemnation. Instead of invitation, it’s entrapment. Instead of tradition, it’s counterculture. Instead of normal, it’s eccentric. Everything about Eroda exists in the uncanny valley. it looks pleasant. It feels pleasant, but something is off and no one can quite put their finger on what… An advertisement for a beautiful oasis getaway that is more sinister in foundation” [read more] from @aliensyndrome
Back-masking
Similar in concept is back-masking. In this case, the reverse message is expressed through reversed audio (typ. reversed lyrics). Harry used back-masking in Sunflower Vol. 6, where he reverses the word “sunflower” and She, hinted by “around 1:32,” where he says “I want Lou, yes I want Louis.”
More controversially, he might have also back-masked some lyrics in Fine Line and Adore You, but that’s up to you to decide😉

Harry’s House vs Harry’s Home
I think this album will tell the story of Harry’s two-sided truth: the image is Louis’ public house; showing it upside down means is not really home, just the public facade.
His expression is contemplative. Perhaps he is wondering what the point is in playing pretend when all that it leaves him is an empty shell (mostly bare room, eggshell white?). Where he feels like a toy to be used at the benefit of others. He might be thinking that keeping up the house/facade costs him more than it is worth:
An ‘upside down mortgage’ or 'to go upside down on a house’ is a saying that basically means that “the owner owes more than the house is worth”.
Anything upside down, (consider Stranger Things) can signify a parallel universe, a different world. In the Harry’s House album art, home is a parallel universe (alternate reality as I call it). His worlds are split so aggressively that when he really is Home, it seems like a different life entirely.
Harry is dressed as a doll with ballet shoes, indicating a performance or playing pretend. He has turned the whole dollhouse upside down to indicate it is the false reality.

HS3 announcement video
Played forward, the message the general population understands is Harry Styles™ leaves home, lives a busy, exciting traveling life, enjoys stepping on stage, and raises a house— because haha cute it’s Harry’s House and there’s Harry and a house.
Of course, when we look closer, there is a B side. The audio is reversed, so we know the real video is to be watched in reverse: the facade of a house starts to smoke and it comes down around H (tearing down everything he’s built?). He survives the “stunt” by standing still, a Steamboat Bill Jr reference [read more] from @vlnylstyles
Instead of a smiling Harry ready to perform, we see a tired Harry, unable to keep up the Facade anymore.
He leaves the stage and his performance through 27 clips of chaos to go home to the 28th clip, (thanks @bluewinnerangel) the daffodils (symbolizing queerness, 10th anniversaries and Louis' favorite flower).
The Harry’s House announcement video also references the play A Doll’s House by Henri Ibsen. In the play, Nora realizes that she’s just been playing the roles others want her to, being used as a plaything. She eventually leaves her husband and family to be her true self. Similarly, Harry is only a person with agency when he’s off that stage. On stage, he’s a doll in a dollhouse doing stunts. He stays still and goes through the motions while he’s also out-of-body, an onlooker of his fake life. He’s living what appears to be the picture-perfect life but actually has many secrets. People don’t love him, they love the idea of him. [read more] from @infinitelymint

The Matrix
I won’t go too in depth here bc I have spoken about my thoughts on Harry and The Matrix in [this post], but if the red and blue characters in AIW represent the pills in the Matrix, we can see them as symbolic of a duality of self or dual realities, explained well by @genuinemusic in this in-depth AIW analysis:
The idea of two selves - one enlightened and one ignorant - is represented in the film by Neo’s reflection in Morpheus’ sunglasses. In this moment, he has two selves and two possible futures. Put together, we can begin to interpret Harry’s performance with his counterpart as a struggle between two selves.
Outlook
HS2 brought many references of A-side/B-side reverserry, but HS3 materials so far aren’t simply describing the B-side. It’s hard not to see the facade coming down, the upside down house, sitting outside the sphere, the blue character in As It Was disappearing, and the reference to A Doll’s House as Harry dismantling his A-side.
Three clicks of the ruby slippers brought Dorothy home, does the third album bring Harry home?
