im getting so fucked up thinking about nat and coach ben and about travis and coach ben and how theyre the two people who still interact with him with any kind of real relationship and im thinking about nat's dad calling her a slut versus nat building a trusting relationship with coach in large part because he's gay and has never and will not ever sexualize the girls. im thinking about travis and coach having little moments of like, coach giving him condoms and an awkward sex talk and coach trying to help him through his dangerous teenage boy angst and how travis felt his own dad was a shitty father and how he still tried to save him. nat and travis' conversation in the plane that it doesnt matter how shitty your dad is it still fucks you up when theyre gone. and now their new gay dad / gay older brother / gay uncle who is suffering so much and is in his like early thirties at the oldest who doesnt want to fucking be there and is terrified of all ofthem but is trying his best is gonna get cannibalized by all of their friends and theyre maybe gonna participate because they have to. no one talk to me about nat and coach i have to lie down

SSR Dorm Uniform - Yuhua Wei
(voicelines and taglist beneath the cut, ft. groovy lines bc no way am i drawing the groovy for this lmao)
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Summon:
Im no hero, but if that’s the role you want me to play…
Hmm? You’re here for my help again? Haha. You really know how to make a guy feel needed.
Groovification: Am I doing this out of the kindness of my heart?
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Set to Home Screen: I can’t guarantee anyone anything, you know.
Home Transition 1: I ran into Yue’er again last night. Although he kind of looks like a cryptid, he really isn’t subtle about his entrances. I mean, green fireflies? Does no one else see them?
Home Transition 2: Sometimes I regret opening up the guest room. The other day, yet another brawl started in there… ugh.
Home Transition 3: I don’t usually like to let my hair down in front of other people, so consider this a treat for you.
Home, after login: I’m exhausted… Let me recharge for a while, or I’m going to lose it.
Home Transition (Groovification): These clothes are based on a legend from the Far East. Can you guess what it is?
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Tap Home 1: ‘Haunted’ is a strong word. I think we can call Ramshackle… ‘otherwise occupied.’
Tap Home 2: Honestly, I can’t believe some people are so reliant on me. Take Ace and Deuce for example… Haha. I guess it’s cute how some people will trip over themselves for a sense of companionship.
Tap Home 3: Three cardinal rules: if you’re with a figure of authority, defer to them. If you’re with a nobody, act casual. And if you meet a respect-less idiot, don’t be afraid to play dirty.
Tap Home 4: This System usually notifies me if there’s an upcoming event of some kind. The downside? Sometimes I’ll wake up at ungodly hours because someone did something stupid.
Tap Home 5: Huh?! D-Do you need something? …I’m sure there’s better ways to get my attention…
Tap Home (Groovification): I wonder if Crewel would give me a pointer like his if I asked nicely. Having a tool on hand would improve my working efficiency a lot. Heh.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Duo Magic:
Davis, I’ll need you to back me up.
Rest assured that I’ve got you, Yu.

I found true detective season 1 to be wildly sexist and it shocked me that nobody on tumblr seems to talk about that. Marty is a self-righteous angry womanizer and one of the least likable characters I’ve ever seen on tv. and the show itself totally hates its scant female characters.
personally when I watched it I never got the sense that the show hates its female characters, yes the characters hate women-marty especially has very fucked up ways of viewing and treating women. but his character doing so parallels what the serial killer does to women. one of the core themes of the show is that women and children are often at the mercy of bad people and people in power who are supposed to help them either turn a blind eye or are willing participating or covering up the act. marty being a cheating asshole who is overly controlling of his wife and viewing her as property, someone who hits his daughter while also being the same man who blew a suspects brains out over seeing the children he had captive and who talks in the interview high and mighty about how “rust needs a family, this is what happens to people who don’t have family”. marty treating women like that is a very purposeful choice imo because it not only fits how cops tend to act to their wives and makes him an interesting parallel to the killer the spend the season trying to catch

It's really fucking funny to me how you can see Drift's Nice Guy Persona being carefully crafted and eventually moved on from throughout MTMTE. This panel is like level 1. Acts of violence? well I mean. you can't just stand there and look menacing right. So he goes full throttle with the huge smile and everything. I bet he watched a marvel movie to find that quip. I'm sorry Drift everyone probably thinks the crystals are having adverse effects at this point.
And the fact that he knows it's pretty obvious and is just kind of hoping nobody notices and they don't because at least it's not Big Bad Decepticon so he's in a sunk cost situation. The act is bad but its also way too late now to drop it. At least in the world of Drift Self-Justification.
Nice save there buddy. Only 3 seconds delay! 👍
In all honesty getting kicked off the Lost Light likely allowed him to exhale and reflect on why exactly he was doing this, and how it was tangled in his own concepts of absolution and redemption and in hindsight, kind of stupid, even if it made sense at the time. Taking the fall for Rodimus fucked up a lot of things and enabled Rodimus' issues with responsibility but it did at least (forcefully) give Drift an opportunity to slow down and get himself back together that wouldve never happened on the ship or at least wouldve been a much slower process. Anyways, thanks for coming to my "let's make fun of Drift for being a really bad actor when not in high-stakes situations" meetup

I'm just saying that if jason and harley broke into arkham to murder the joker, they would never get in trouble.
some inmate: what? the joker was violently murdered to death and died? last night? why, last night, I slept like a baby. I didn't hear a peep. must've been some freak accident.
jason and harley: hm? the joker died last night? damn that's crazy, we were playing lazer tag and getting drunk. just ask the game attendant! I think his name was roy... or maybe ray. doesn't matter, we're cleared.

Kokichi is so befuddling because whenever I’m playing the game I’m like “heehoo the sillies ^_^!!! Little liar man !!!!” And whenever I’m not I’m like “GODDDD kokichi is so fucking annoying someone take him out back and put him down already” . He’s kind of like Monokuma in that regard .
this really is the exact emotion. I’m at the bit in the game where he keeps talking about wanting to be friends with monokuma. so I can definitely see a level of similarity.

GODS I KEEP THINKING ABT LIKE. YOU MENTIONED HOLLY ASKING WHEN THEY GET TO GO HOME AND SHE JUST CANT AND
it's so painful to think abt because yes, the spiral is going to be saved because of the prophecy, and all these lives are saved - but ambrose really went "needs of the many" and basically deprived a whole child of their personhood and maybe even their identity outside of "savior of the spiral" with the depersonalization of the wizard and how it starts with literally entering the wizard world. you pick a new name for your wizard and you very much can Tell that most names like that dont exist where the YW came from so their initial identity gets erased and then the NEW identity they try to build gets erased too to the point where i have to be impressed but also severely worried that the the YW is STILL internalizing how they feel and being essentially constantly sent on more quests and
this is complete rambling that probably hardly makes sense but god its just how screwed up w101's plot is deep down
YOU'RE SO RIGHT ABOUT THE ERASURE AND DEPERSONALIZATION, YOUR BRAIN IS ON
Like that's something so interesting to think about like how and why did the YW choose their new name? Did Ambrose choose it for them; did he merely encourage them to take on a more "appropriate" identity to match their new culture?? Did the Wizard ever want to change their name in the first place? How does their name change affect their journey and their personality going forwards?
And you're so right because like in a sense, you're literally CREATING a new character to fit into this new world. Irl you're choosing their appearance, their name and their gender, everything. Build-A-Bear starting from scratch. And even though the character creation bit has no underlying meaning to it, I think it unintentionally has such a heavy metaphor that you are no longer a human from Earth, but a Wizard in the Spiral. You're not "Holly LastName" with regular Earth clothes, you're now "Holly Steelcry" with a bitchin' purple and yellow outfit that is now SUITED for the Spiral. Yippee!!!
Like I don't even think the Pirate goes through this shit; weren't they born in the Spiral? Like didn't they have parents that were originally FROM the Spiral in the first place???? It's just the Wizard that's been yoinked from their original homeland and into a new one 💀
And that's one of the things that Holly learns throughout their life in the Spiral - is that her Earth self, her original personality and heritage... is not enough. What they were before was not what the Spiral needed. The world doesn't want Holly, it wants Holly STEELCRY. Their family, friends, pets, past hobbies and their ultimate sacrifice in leaving them behind is not what matters to Ambrose, to the Council of Light, to the entire universe. What everyone needed was a HERO and Holly was NOT a hero, which is why they made her INTO one. Unfortunately, it was that erasure and depersonalization you mentioned that Ambrose, and later Holly themself, thought was necessary in order to save everyone. Now you have a Wizard who may or may not be an entirely different person than what you started out with and for NO GOOD REASON. It's that "sacrifice yourself for others" trope that I love and hate so much 😭😭😭😭😭
