John Lennon reads the weather for Larry Kane as part of the Helping Hand Marathon on Channel 6 News in Philadelphia, 16th May 1975 (x)
"I told him that we were doing a Helping Hand Marathon at the radio station and at the television station where I worked, Channel 6 in Philadelphia at the time, and I said 'come on down'. And he said 'I'm gonna do it'. And I was so stunned to greet him at 30th Street Station, the main train station in Philadelphia, walking off an Amtrack train, with a little overnight, like a gym bag with him. And he was saying goodbye to everybody and he came out, he gave me a big hug, and I took him around town, talked about being more popular than he was, and all that business..."
"He did hours and hours from Friday through Sunday, on the air at this marathon. And then on Friday night, an amazing thing happened... John comes into the studio, and the weatherman was off that night, and John says 'can I do the weather?'."
"Now, it wasn't a great weather forecast, in fact I think we brought in somebody to do the weather after he was finished, I don't remember, but he was on set with me, and that weathercast brought thousands of people to the station over the weekend, because people said, 'he's really there!'... and you know what I found out? That in that weekend, John Lennon met more people one-on-one than at any time in his entire life, being shielded by security, and all the concerts and everything else. And he told me later, he said, 'you know I met more people individually'... he probably met a thousand or two thousand people up close, signed autographs, gave his socks away... they were pretty smelly socks, but he gave his socks away, they were red, white and blue socks... auctioned them off, gave pictures away, just had this great interaction with people"
"And it was such an up for him, because he had come off of the 'lost weekend', he had suffered tremendous alcohol abuse, May Pang had helped get him back on his feet, he was back with Yoko, she was pregnant, he was expecting a child, and this was his first real coming out, and it was just such a wonderful thing to see him enjoy that, and to see the people enjoy that... there are so many teenagers that I interviewed who are now forty- or fifty-somethings, who have great memories of that weekend."

Don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed Lapin and wished he had more time to grow and develop. But, I mean c'mon, Cumulous was a GIFT. I love me a stone-faced pastel man who has absolutely no problem casually killing things and sucking the life from them, who also weeps tears of joy when met with the objects he's sworn to protect. I would have loved for him to have the full season to grow his relationship with the family, just as much as I would have Lapin. We got two bangin characters that we absolutely did not deserve. That being said, PLEASE let Zac's character survive. It's only 6 episodes, man. If he didn't make this character with that thought in mind, I'll be shocked.

We could make Sqq a transformer in his past life. Like optimus prime sorta transformer. Cybertronian.
He'd be the only surviving seeker (winged guy) on the autobots side (I don't know all the canons but I don't think they have, like, any). Pretty young when the war started - unfathomably ancient for humans, the kiddie of the group to them.
And he arrives on earth. Discovers the Internet. Immediately gets hooked on critiquing stupid Web novels in every language, which being a sentient machine he can do at great speed without forgetting anything. Decides to read the final chapter during a battle because he's so close to the end and airplane had better pull SOMETHING good. Is so infuriated (distracted) by the ending he messes up and immediately gets killed by some low level decepticon. After FIVE MILLION years of war he gets offed by some loser over a stupid human story that wasn't even very good. He dies SO furious.
And then he gets reborn a human.
He is, as the kids say, big mad.
How by Primus do they do anything??

In preparation for The Chalice of the Gods and the series coming out, I’m rereading the PJO books and cannot stop thinking about Sally Jackson.
Imagine you’re a mom to this amazing kid, who, through no fault of his own is constantly going to be in danger unless you:
send him away to a summer camp for kids with godly parents, meaning you’d rarely, if at all get to see your son
marry his smelly, abusive asshole to help disguise your son from the monsters who want to hunt him
And you pick… the SECOND OPTION? You marry a man, whom you have no romantic feelings for, who you don’t even LIKE, who is unkind, and lazy, and physically aggressive… just so you can see your son for at least three months out of the year
