More proof that God is real and He is good

I have a rare chronic illness that has no cure and few treatments. Since it involves my spine, and to avoid the hospital as much as possible, I decided a year ago to go back to the chiropractor that my family's been going to since forever (even though I hate it) because I thought that even if he has never heard of it before and has no idea what to do aside from the basics, if he could help at least a little bit, it'd be worth it. First appointment there he said that his wife has the same illness, getting adjusted helps her, and that he knew how to help me (and going at least once a month has been very helpful)

I love fics where Peter is actually a little shit cause most writers write him as a sweet cinnamon roll. And sure he is that when it comes to morals, but have you guys met a 14 year old? I am the oldest sibling and i promise you I have met every version of a shithead teenager under the fucking sun. And yes ALL of them are shitheads who WILL lie if they think it's funny or just for the kicks of it to any and all authority figures (i still do it and I'm 16)

he really gets the sweet summer child treatment in fandom and it really shows that a lot of fic writers have never spent extended time with a teenager in their life. like, i was a math tutor for a while, and like. a teenager myself for a FEW years, and you will NOT find a demographic more down to commit felonies for shits and giggles. i can't even say that he reads like a much younger kid, because honestly, fandom peter doesn't really read like a real person at all to me. like, he's insane. he's a good person. but he is insane. this is fundamental to him.

This is the perfect shot.

Porsche is not relieved. He just shot a man, and this time he cannot say that maybe the shots from the other bodyguards were the ones that killed him. He shot a man and Kinn took a bullet for him and he doesn't know what that means. He is behind Kinn. Was Kinn shot point-blank? Is he already dead on top of Porsche?

He is not relieved. Because next to the uncertainty of Kinn's faith he also has to realize that his chance of getting away is gone.

And yes, he had gone back willingly to save Kinn. He might not even regret that but with Kinn's body on top of him, the literal weigh is back.

The emotions on his face, and how he doesn't close his eyes in relief, it's perfect. Heartbreaking but perfect.

Once upon a time I read a blog post by a fat trans man who was asked to "come be shirtless?" at an educational event and how it felt to be intentionally visible for young people who had maybe never seen their body type as "transition goals"...

... and I think: modern Lan Wangji.

Because I think in some AUs, maybe he's not a runner or a martial artist or jock at all. Maybe he's a musician or a scholar or just the kind of man who happens to have a big, soft body, thick thighs and a squishy tummy and a chest that was contoured to match. Masculine curves.

And I think of the way he is with the little Lans in canon and imagine him wanting to show the kids in his community that there's no one way you have to look to be who you are, so when he's working the check-in desk but they ask him to come for the top surgery q&a, he does.

He knows it can be hard to imagine what you've never seen, so there he is: Trans. Chinese. Queer. Fat. Scars and rolls and dark brown nipples that he had evened out at a little tattoo shop by a chatty man with a smile like sunshine who pronounced him gorgeous the first day they met.

And there's kids that go home that day a little more able to imagine what their future might look like. He can see the light go on in their eyes when they meet him.

He's living a good life, and I love that for him. 💙

Bishop Barron has been posting about Shia Labeouf's confirmation into the Church recently, and watching his videos, it's just amazing how much God can change us and bring peace into our lives. I remember who Shia used to be and to see him now, idk it just makes me kinda emotional. I prayed for him to find peace years ago and he found it and you can see it on his face and it's just such a lovely reminder that God is real and He is good
