Thoughts on MLP Make Your Mark Chapter 4, Ep 2: Top Remodel
This was a busy episode with many threads: Sunny learning that being a leader means you can't please everyone, Pipp and Hitch clearing rats out of the old Canterlogic factory, Zipp examining Twilight Sparkle's message, and Misty wrestling with her reluctance to follow Opaline's orders and kidnap Sparky.
The last two plotlines were definitely the most interesting, but I get the sense there's a playset coming up so they dutifully advertised Canterlogic, which got turned into "Canterlove Studios."
Interestingly, Sprout returned and (kind of) helped Pipp and Hitch with the rat infestation. I think this was to inform the viewers that he isn't going to be a background villain; he ends up giving his stamp of approval to the studio and seems to be on okay terms with the main cast. Also his family doesn't seem to own the factory anymore, since Sunny is doing whatever with it. My fanon theory is that his family had to pay restitution to Sunny for destroying her home and almost killing her with a giant robot so she now owns the place.
Tumblr media
Oh, we also see Phyllis in the background so she's still around.
Tumblr media
I think she's congratulating him on a good school report. I also think he plagiarized from some other pony.
Anyway, as Zipp replays Twilight Sparkle's message, she notes that Twilight said she put the magic of Equestria in "the crystals and the [static]".
Tumblr media
My theory is they're in a tree (or maybe in nature itself?) because there's that tree in Maretime Bay that Zipp said "seemed familiar" (and there's even a picture of its blossoms on the wall), plus we get a shot of the book (from the winter holiday special) with unicorns gathered around a tree. If it's not in a tree then I don't know, maybe the Elements of Harmony are still kicking around.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Speaking of the book, I went back to the Winter Wish Day special to get a better look at it and noticed that the gilded figure on the right--which I had assumed to be a unicorn--has feathers. So she's an alicorn. The figure on the left has bone-like structures behind her head, not sure if those are meant to be wings or not. Also there's a star in the middle that looks a lot like Twilight Sparkle's symbol. So maybe the other two figures are Celestia and Luna? However the book is post-dystopia, as it also shows Zephyr Heights on the cover.
Tumblr media
When Misty overhears the message Zipp is replaying and reports it to Opaline, Opaline describes the Unity Crystals as "conduits . . . elements . . . a very complex spell containing unity magic."
She also says that Twilight was the one who put all the magic of Equestria into the crystals. So, yeah, magicless Equestria was Twilight Sparkle's fault. On the one hand I'm not a fan of this; I don't like it when a sequel is like "Actually your heroes sucked, and they got everything wrong." (Looking at you, Star Wars sequel trilogy.) IMO they should have had Twilight live out her life as a successful monarch and then two or three rulers later everything got screwed up.
On the other hand, this dumb plan does seem exactly like something Twilight Sparkle would do, because she always had a certain naivety. I can picture how she would think it out: "There's strife between different kinds of ponies. How can I stop it? I know! Every pony loves having magic, so if magic only works when everyone is friends then the ponies will be motivated to get along! :D"
Anyway, Zipp deduces that the pony who wants the crystals must be extremely powerful--like an alicorn! I'm extremely curious to learn how much modern Equestrian ponies know about alicorns. Equestria has lost so much historical knowledge, does the general populace even remember Celestia and Luna? The townsfolk of Maretime Bay (except Sunny and her dad) didn't think it was possible that earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns had EVER gotten along, so a pony who had elements of all three breeds would probably seem outlandish. (Or a creature of nightmare.)
Random thoughts:
As in Tell Your Tale, Pipp has a love of spookiness. Did Zephyr Heights have an equivalent doll line to Monster High? (Monster Hay?) At any rate she's a fan of the Spooky Stable series.
"I ain't afraid of no ghosts!" Hee hee!
The oldest pony in Bridlewood is Elderflower.
Tumblr media
Misty makes a junk-pony so she has someone to talk to. Oh Misty . . . She reluctantly concludes that she should kidnap Sparky even if it will make the other ponies sad. "After all, they already have each other." Man, that really tugged my heartstrings.
Tumblr media
aw no, now I'm sadder

Some more characters into ponies because I feel like it.
Here have some!
Tumblr media
Baldi, Principal, and Bluey. Yes Bluey is a dragon because in Equestria Girls Spike became a dog so I guess dragons are sort of dogs in the pony world (even tho Winona was still a dog in said pony world, I still like the idea quite a bit).
Tumblr media
Claire and her family as ponies. I've designed Mirror Man before but I've never posted it yet. Just waiting until I'm motivated enough to finish the last drawing that sort of connects with the one that he's in, also it's a little old.
Tumblr media
Claire and Bluey. Claire being the only unicorn in her family who has strong enough magic to form a bubble shield (a little idea I thought up inspired by Steven Universe episode "Bubble Buddies" and that one episode of MLP called "A Flurry of Emotions").
Tumblr media
Pony version of that one bit in the Moral Orel episode titled "Praying". I might redraw or reanimate more scenes of characters as ponies. Most likely draw idk.
Tumblr media
I always wanted Sarge to interact with Soldier for a long while now. (FYI Simmons is jealous in this).
I remember drawing the ponified versions of the RvB characters back in 2019 (mostly because I remember drawing them a lot during school, I'll probably show my old art of them eventually, if people want that).
I even looked for said old art so that I can draw them now and see how much I've improved. I just added scars and such.
I also drew Nicky because I love a bit of Avenue Q.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally we have Orel, Doughy, Tommy, Kid One, Joe, Christina, Marionetta, Billy, Junior, and Betty. Some of the kids in Moralton.
(I also wanted to include Anne, Walt, (possibly) both Tinas, Shapey, Block and even Marionetta's little sis but I guess I will post them next time, I'll even include these guys and everyone's names in a separate post.. maybe add some shade.. just three separate art pieces that go together... I guess these are considered WIPs for now).
(idk I'm just a sucker for background/one-off characters... suck potential 💕✨ I would want to include them).
So that's it for now. I'll definitely make more sometime in the future. As well as other fanart that isn't totally pony based like this one. So stay tuned if you want to see it. Thanks for looking at my art! (Sorry if I bored you with my text, I know I'm getting tired just typing it). Buh bye and goodnight!👋💖🌟

I lost interest in g5 when I found out it was gonna be a continuation of g4. G4 had its time it had a good ending, you can capitalize on its popularity without fucking up 9 seasons of development.
FORREAL. like you could keep making g4 merch for the rest of eternity and it'd still sell. it could have just been a reboot with new lore instead of messing around with the old lore
ik this is a question everyone has but WHERE are all the immortal beings. we kind of know where discord is if the comics are canon (press X to doubt) but if hes the canon version of discord now then i dont want him. WHERE DID ALL THE IMMORTAL ALICORNS GO??? WHOS WATCHING TARTARUS???? im usually not this guy i promise. i dont care this much about inconsistent lore in most things. but god damn my little pony friendship is magic had a LOT of lore and they worked really hard to keep it at least somewhat consistent throughout the whole show and this new one doesn't build on it AT ALL? you can BUILD on the lore without discarding huge chunks of it for temporary convenience. there are a million ways you could keep it consistent
maybe just bring back the ascension lore from the final season's original draft. maybe all the alicorns ascended, opaline was one of the chosen successors, and she took out all her competition? that still sucks though. theres so much powerful stuff going on in mlp. so many people can shoot lasers from their heads you have to take into account the rainbow lasers. for me. personally
i agree with you honestly. it's a struggle trying to get through the g5 show, it just feels disrespectful to g4's legacy and twilight's development into a true princess unifying not just equestria but the world with the magic of friendship. it breaks the ending, and the ending is already kind of broken (i hate tall twilight and buff spike so much) but not completely imo. it's still a fitting and poetic end to a long, winding, sometimes super boring or frustrating story that still ends up being brilliant and impactful with a lasting cultural legacy that any continuation couldn't hope to match. :/
i think it's partially because g5 was in development hell for so long. i partially wish they went with the redesigned mane 6 and made it a full-on reboot from square one with new lore, but just recycling the arcs of g4 again would probably ring hollow. but they didnt want to let go of the popularity and profitability of g4 and they wanted new toys to sell alongside the old ones so. we got whatever this is. sad

(Equestria Girls) Over the intercom at the school, everyone can hear the official broadcast about a new law being made and put in effect at the very same moment. In every area of the school they would be able to listen as girls and women no longer has rights. Due to the decline of male offspring, every girl is now the property of the state and everyone can impregnate any of them regardless of status or age. The woman broadcasting it then gets tackled down and the first legal rape of the country is being heard. Everyone sharing a look at each other.
The students at the soccer field wasted no time, one tackling down Rainbow Dash, ripping her sports shorts off and trying his best to force his cock into his long time crush.
Applejack on the other end of the playing field also getting the same fate, but it was her brother doing it. Maybe to protect her from someone else, or he just really wanted to put a baby in his sibling.
Pinkie Pie that currently didn't have classes were at work at the pastry shop, none other than her boss came up behind her and bend her over the counter to take the teen pussy as his.
Fluttershy in the garden getting jumped on by one of her good friends she was helping the garden with, now down on her back with her dress ripped open with him groping and fondling her massive tits as he put them together to suck on.
Rarity in the art club tied down over the table, the two lone artist painters deciding to share her and double team the prettiest girl in the school.
In the library, Twilight being pulled aside to a less used corner, the older janitor holding her up against the wall and forced his cock into her tight pussy from behind.
In the other classroom, Sweetie Belle was at the blackboard about to present a slideshow for class, the teacher holding her up, legs spread out and lowering her down on his cock as he took the young girl's first time.
In the same room, Scootaloo got one of the usual bullies forcing her down on her knees, fingering her through her panties that soon ripped open.
Apple Bloom that was in the bathroom at the time was unlucky to have Flash 'saving her' by locking the door so he could take her inside one of the stalls.
(pick which girl you want to continue with, others are just side characters being used that will be forgotten and bred out of the story.)
The announcement came as a complete shock. Some thought it was some kind of joke until the woman on the tv was attacked and raped right then and there. Begging for it not to happen. That's when all hell broke loose in the school. No girl was spared. All attacked in the intent to get them all pregnant to help the population numbers.
Poor Sweetie Belle was completely naive to what it all meant. Just suddenly boys were attacking the girls. She looked scared, and then suddenly her own teacher grabbed her from behind. It seemed he had always had his eye on the young girl. She was pretty like her sister, with such big innocent eyes. She would definitely look so much cuter with his child growing in her.
Sweetie whined and squirmed in his grasp. He touched and felt up her body. Toying with her underdeveloped breasts, after ripping open her shirt to expose them, "N-no... S-stop..." Sweetie whimpered out. It was then he reached down and tore off her skirt and panties. Completely exposing her. The small girl was easy to lift up, holding her legs open. His cock slapped against her slit, making her jump and whimper. Then he slowly pushed her down on his cock. Breaking through her hymen and reaching up all the way to her cervix. Sweetie shook and let out a loud cry, arching her back, pressing her small body closer to his chest as he claimed her first time,
"T-teacher! W-why! Y-you're so big! I-i'm only supposed to have babies with someone I'm going to be with!" She couldn't wiggle away, his grip was too tight.

Previous: The Flim Flam Timeline
The Wasteland Timeline:
This is the story of when Equestria fell.
And this it the story of when Equestria rose again.
The trials began as they always do: with the return of Nightmare Moon. The celestial sisters clashed, and Celestia fell. Heedless of the struggle it would be to keep the Sun set with its alicorn princess banished inside it, Nightmare Moon did just that, determined that her traitorous sister experience Nightmare’s punishment.
Nightmare’s reign of Equestria was strained, but Equestria could have borne it. But within a year, the capital was attacked by the Changelings, desperate to replenish their stores of pony love that had been stymied by the nation’s state of fear and uncertainty. Nightmare Moon was barely managing to repel the threat when the Crystal Empire returned, and King Sombra began to march on her northern borders. With attacks from within and attacks from without, a distrusted leader on the throne, and economic failure rippling across the country as readily as the shifting front lines, the ponies of Equestria were more torn than ever.
So of course that’s when Discord escaped.
The upside of Discord’s release was that it temporarily stopped the fighting. Even King Sombra was smart enough to withdraw in the face of the mad draconequus on a quest of vengeance against all ponies. Queen Chrysalis and Queen Nightmare Moon (who had absconded herself at first sign of Discord’s escape, using every possible trick to keep him from finding her) formed a temporary peace treaty in order to seek a solution - for a world ruled by Discord was useless to all of them. (Granted, the Changelings could withdraw to their protected realm, but Chrysalis had tasted power and wasn’t about to let Discord have it all. She was quite looking forward to stabbing Nightmare Moon in the back afterwards.)
Their solution: a magical contract with the long-imprisoned centaur, Tirek. Tirek was more than happy to oblige. He single-handedly decimated Sombra’s troops, gorging himself on the magic of Crystal Empire and Equestrian ponies alike. It is possible that, if Discord hadn’t come to see what all the fuss was about himself, Tirek would have kept right on gorging to the very limit of the contract that bound him.
When the two titans clashed, the battle that ensued sundered hundreds of miles of landscape. Canterlot bore the greatest brunt; the castle collapsed completely from its cliffside home, the city little more than ruins. Discord’s attacks spread wildly unpredictable waves of chaos magic across much of Equestria. And when at long last Tirek had defeated him and sucked him dry, the lingering effects of that chaos magic stayed rooted in the ground like weeds.
It seemed, for the briefest moment, as if the worst problem was over. But of course, a power-maddened Tirek is a worse threat - because at least Discord doesn’t go out of his way to destroy everything in sight. Drunk on chaos magic, Tirek easily broke the tenuous contract with the queens and set across the landscape, draining ponies by the thousands and carving swaths through the countryside for the sheer wicked joy of destruction. His power was even mighty enough to destroy the changeling hive, overpowering its magical protections.
There was no choice - the two remaining rulers of any species in the land had to either defeat their own creation or face the loss of all they held dear. Nightmare Moon called upon the power of the Moon itself, drawing it nearer to Equestria in a desperate gambit. Tidal waves rocked Equestria’s coastlines, submerging Manehattan and other coastal cities entirely, and the alicorn of the night shone with deadly moonlit radiance as she bombarded Tirek with the full brunt of her power. But even Nightmare Moon at the height of her power was not strong enough to stop Tirek at the height of his, and he struck her down against the surface of the Moon itself. Some of the dislodged chunks rained down on the world, damaging more of not only Equestria, but many other countries on that side of the planet.
Tirek seemed to have won; all he had left to deal with was one small, angry changeling queen. An assured victory, no doubt.
He could not have known how wrong he was. For a changeling might give its magic willingly to a spell like Tirek’s with no ill effects, but an unwilling changeling queen will not be robbed of her power easily. As Tirek’s powers drain magic, so changeling powers drain love - and no one in all the world had such self-love as Tirek. The cycle of Tirek draining her magic and Chrysalis draining his became a self-consuming spell spiral that ultimately imploded upon itself, taking both creatures with it.
The resulting explosion could be heard across the celestial sea. For a few moments, there was something like an artificial sun on the horizon - a sun that had set directly on Equestria.
Then came the silence. After three years of war, devastation, and disasters unlike any the world had ever seen, there was silence.
And as the silence stretched, the survivors stirred.
Earth ponies, pegasi, unicorns, crystal ponies, and zebras; yaks, cows, goats, donkeys, and buffalo; gryphons, dragons, hippogryphs, minotaurs, and changelings: in spite of everything, many had survived. They rose from their hiding places to find an Equestria and Crystal Empire in ruins. No major cities still stood; borders and coastlines were unrecognizable. Large swaths of land once green and lush were barren and blasted, and spots of chaos magic lay in wait for creatures unwise enough to enter them unprotected. The moon hung wrecked in a dark sky, shining in shattered glory down on the devastation that had been the once-rich land of Equestria.
But the great destroyers were gone. None of the titans and tyrants who had brought this destruction down on the country remained. The usual monsters hardly seemed a threat anymore; those who had survived thus far had learned to cope with far worse. They could build new settlements, make new ways of life, come together or fall apart on their own merits.
And the most hopeful sign of all came the next day. The first actual day since Nightmare Moon returned and the Thousand Days of Woe began:
The Sun - weak and red in the dust-filled sky - slowly rose over the horizon.
The Princess of the Sun had not returned yet; perhaps she is still trapped by her sister’s spell. Perhaps another way of escape is being laid. But the light fills the ponies’ hearts with hope.
The Equestria they knew is gone. But the New Equestria has a future.

Sunday, Aug.10, 4 A.C.
Dear Journal,
It’s really strange dating things this way; but with everything that’s happened, most folks agree it’ll be easier to date our calendars starting with the fall of Princess Celestia. ‘After Celestia’ sounds so grim, though; kinda hope we change it. Maybe when the Princess returns... we’re praying she does.
Anyway, I still can’t believe we found a whole stock of blank paper in the storerooms! We’re saving most of it for bartering, but Mom thinks it’s smart for one of us to make notes for posterity, so it looks like I get to keep you. I’ll try to be short to save space, but it just feels so good to write again!
The move into the Canterlot ruins ruins is going pretty well. A few other families joined us after our last trip to Apple Fort, and we’ve shored up our defenses in case the air pirates make another flyby. Pop and I negotiated a deal with the Apples - food in exchange for books. A few of the unicorns know replication spells and are using some of the paper to make copies of really important texts so we don’t lose valuable knowledge to an accident. It still blows my mind how much we’ve lost in... was life really normal only a few years ago? It feels like another lifetime that I was in this very city, talking to the Princess, sitting at a normal cafe... eating lunch with Cam and Press...
I don’t want to forget them. Camera Shy and Pressing Matters, my best friends. Maybe they’re still out there somewhere. We run into old friends every now and then - my old traveling salespony gig has come in handy, actually! I’ve found a bunch of people who used to be clients, it really helps with forming trade and peace treaties with other groups. So it could happen. Please, Prince, keep them safe wherever they are.
I’m really blessed, though. I have to remember that. I have Mom and Pop and Black and Per and Chewie - although I’m still not used to Chewie flying and talking now. She’s such a character. Lots of ponies are missing family - so are we, we haven’t been able to find most of the extended family, but Pop got word from Aunt Pitter that she and my cousin Light Drizzle are out west somewhere, and Pitch Apple is down at Apple Fort, thank the King.
And we could be worse! We made friends with a tinkerer named Steam Punk, he made me a new wing that works as good as my old one! (Not a HUGE bar to cross, but it’s still really impressive!) I’m talking him into working with me to start a production house that can make and sell them affordably to other handicapped pegasi. And Mom got her flight back thanks to a gem Black and some other mages crafted. I think she still misses her diving mark, but she’s so brave and optimistic, it really inspires everyone. I wish we could do something for Pop’s horn, but he’s finding other ways to help out. Per is... well, I guess if you’re going to get turned into a pony-dragon, you’d want to be as cheerful about it as Per. Who knows, maybe she’ll still get a cutie mark someday! And Black is fully aware that he looks pretty boss with an eyepatch, the dork.
There’s rumors that Princess Cadance might be alive and organizing the crystal ponies up North; lots of ponies are heading that way, but I think our group will stay here. There’s a lot of resources in the Canterlot ruins and in the castle, although Black leads the expeditions into the castle because of safety issues. I never knew he was so good at exploration and such; guess there were a few skills he was holding out on us over the years, but turns out he was working for the Princess before! What in Equus, I gave him such an earful for being all secretive about being my bodyguard or whatever.
I’m running out of page, so I’ll wrap up today. We’re holding a worship service later, Pop and Parson Brown are setting it up. We want to keep focusing on what we have to be thankful for. We are GOING to get through this. The King, the Prince, and the Advocate have not abandoned us, and we have each other.
~Salespitch

Fun Facts About The Wasteland Timeline:
- This was my favorite timeline to draw =D I HAD to get some steampunk stuff in there, although there are definitely Mad Max vibes. The convenient thing about this timeline is that it was a literal blank slate, so I could really get creative with it! I feel like this would make a neat bookmark, what do ya’ll think?
- I tried to reference all the major villains in the picture. Extra shoutout to ReversalMushroom, the patron who sponsored this Alternate Timeline Special, for giving me the ideas for the changeling goo and Tirek’s hoofprints, which were added in during the coloring phase. I think they round it out quite nicely!
- The random bit of Candy Forest over the crevice there is one of the pockets left behind by Discord’s chaos magic going wild. Most ponies avoid it because here’s WEIRD stuff in there, and ponies who go in there usually come out a little weirder themselves.
- Black lost his eye and half his sunglasses in a fight with some Changelings. He gets on quite well with only one eye, though, and he insists his sunglass-lens eyepatch is going to be the height of eyepatch fashion. (He DOES have a sense of humor in case anyone doubted it. ;) ) Black taught everyone basic survival techniques and does most of the more dangerous tasks.
- Sales lost his wing during Tirek’s rampage; he tried to distract Tirek, but they didn’t have time to make the plan from the Tirek timeline, so he got swatted pretty quickly. On the upside, Tirek lost sight of him and didn’t get his magic. Sales can fly about as well now with his new steampunk wing, which combines technology and magic to mimic low-level pegasus flight (which was where he was at anyway, so he made a great first test subject!) Sales’ main job is  negotiating peaceful trades with other groups.
- Sales Patter (Dad) lost his horn while pushing his wife out of the way of some falling rubble. He insists he was only mediocre at magic anyway, and he doesn’t need a horn to do business! He does miss it, though. He helps their new community with allocating resources.
- Pitch Forward (Mom) lost her magic and cutie mark to Tirek’s onslaught. The gem in her coat simulates flight for her, although not quite at the level she was before. She and Sales joke about how he can almost beat her in a race now. She helps with the kids in their small community and teaches flying techniques to pegasi.
- Pitch Perfect got hit with a random blast of Discord magic that turned her half dragon. It took a little getting used to, but she honestly thinks it is super neat. She’s pretty good at sniffing out gems now, which (when she isn’t eating them) helps with family finances. Her friends Codebreak and Castle Crasher are part of their little community, and the three are constantly getting into trouble (which most everyone silently thinks of as a nice bit of familiarity.)
- Chewie ALSO got Discord’d; she has fairy wings now and she can talk. Chewie still likes Sales the best and hovers around him chattering like Navi half the time. The other half of the time she forgets she has wings and just hops around exploring. At this point she’s become less like a pet and more like another tiny sister, to Per’s delight and everyone else’s raised anxiety levels. She is VERY aware of her surroundings and alerts the group to intruders and strangers. She really misses computer games.
- Princess Celestia will eventually return, although by that time I feel that the various groups gathering together will have formed something like a decent society again. It remains to be seen if they’ll go back to a monarchy, create a government of connected micronations, or turn into something like the United States.
- And yes, Camera Shy, Pressing Matters, and Press’s husband Curler are all alive. They’ll meet up someday!
---
A/N: Thank you all for joining me on this journey through time and space to explore the seven MLP timelines and where Sales & Co might have ended up in them! I hope you enjoyed it; I had a good bit of fun coming up with the different scenarios, it was a great brain exercise. =D Thank you again to all my Patrons, and to ReversalMushroom for sponsoring this particular special! There will be a final post next week of all the pictures together, with links back to their storyline posts.
I also want to thank you for bearing with me as the regular updates continue to be on hiatus. This has been a rough and strange year for all of us, and I hope you all are safe and healthy and know that you are loved. Jesus has really been with me through this year, and even tonight as I write this; there are things I struggle with, but I know that they do not define my value, HE does. =) And I, like Sales, want to count my blessings, the biggest one (aside from my faith in God) being that I have family around me who love me and care for me. I’m very much looking forward to Christmas! =D
Merry Christmas! May your Christmas and New Year contain joy and peace, and may Christ Jesus rest His hands on you and draw your heart to His. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

A Spark of Hope
Chapter 1 story 1 Dragon Days
Spike was tired. Spike was sad. Spike wants to stop thinking the word Spike to himself as he laid in a patch of grass in ponyville. Today had gone less than what the small drake had hoped. In fact one could say today sucked. He let out an audible groan as he rubbed his temples."fuck everything."his tone was that of someone who was starting to go emotionally blank. And he started to think of all the things that led to his current predicament.
2 it'll probably started just about a week ago while working at his an twilight's home in Canterlot Castle. It's been maybe 3 years since they moved there and to be honest it was pretty fucking boring. Not to say that the whole thing wasn't without its merits the first year was full of him traveling to different kingdoms and ensuring peace as the friendship ambassador for Twilight. Sadly he was a little too good at his job at the time. Most of the nations were actually pretty easy to convince to be friends especially after all the work Twilight and her friends have done before she became princess of Equestria. Then again Spike would also note that just because everyone is currently allies doesn't mean they necessarily are friends but for now there's peace. Which gave Twilight the amazing idea.
3 Twilight had idea that since technically she owned two castles she could spend half the year in canterlot and the other half in ponyville. And that any actions that would normally be handled in morning Court could be sent to ponyville by mail. That made Spike extremely excited not to mention the look of Glee on twilight's face when she mentioned this last week. But Spike himself was excited because now he would be able to see rarity again. Or at least he was.
4 Despite everything Spike only wanted to finally have his chance to reveal his true feelings to her. And after so long he felt he was finally ready. He decided to wait at least a few days first though to enjoy his time back with his friends. And the last 5 days were honestly pretty sweet. He remembered the welcome back party the pinky threw for everyone.
5 truly he wishes he could return to that. But no he just had to get his hopes up. Just earlier that day he had walked in to see rarity at her boutique. His scales were shined his teeth sharpened he even ate more mints then was probably recommended. But he was certain it would have all been worth it. And then he said those magic words.
6"rarity it's been a long time and I wanted to tell you that I would love to maybe go on a date if you were interested?"okay admittedly it wasn't as swave as he wanted but hey it was something. Then of course she already said those terrible words."oooooh spike t-that's very sweet but .oh darling don't take this the wrong way but you're like a little brother to me I don't mean to hurt your feelings you're just too young and I just can't return your feelings."she said it in the friendliest manner she could.
7 Still it didn't remove the pain. Not to mention the anger. Now the fact she wasn't able to return the feelings wasn't as much the problem as it was her referring to him as a little brother. Too young. Not feeling the same way was bad enough but the reminder that he was still so short really got to him. Because despite everything he actually wasn't that young. He was 17 an less than a year away from being a fully grown dragon. Yet despite this he was still short he hasn't seem to have aged a day since he was just a hatchling. The only real physical difference was his wings.
8 Spike can only grumble as he laid in the ground. His heart was broken and his day was ruined. But at least the patch of grass he was in was next to the lake and it was such a lovely day. At least for now.
9 meanwhile not too far away. A lone figure quietly entered ponyville. He dodged and weaves his way through the crowds and behind buildings. He didn't want to be seen nor really to deal with anyone. All he wanted was to grab what he needed. Still that was better said than done. He quickly then dashed behind another building as a pink earth pony and her white unicorn friend walked past. The two didn't even notice the moving shadows. Still that was what he wanted.
10. Not to get it wrong he had no intentions of harming anyone. But he already heard about the apparent pink mare who insisted on greeting everyone new to ponyville. A handy hint from a passing Griffin on his way over. But with the current trouble out of the way he then saw his Target. A stand with freshly picked apples. And better yet the Earth pony mare who usually runs the stand was busy talking with a rather rowdy Griffin customer. Perfect. Quicker than the eye could catch he dashed towards the stand using his hooves to grab at least a few apples before dashing back to the safety of cover.
11 As he planned the earth pony didn't even notice him. Although she did have an eyebrow raise. A few apples going missing definitely drawed her attention. But what was done was done and she merely resumed her business. And that was good enough for the figure he had what he needed. Now he just needed to get out of here.
12. The figure quickly then made his way out of the market area and towards a more grassy area closer to the edge of town. It wouldn't be long now. All he had to do was walk past the lake and enter the everfree like he had earlier. Then he would make his way to the next town. But as he strolled he couldn't help but notice the young Drake laying in the grass.
14. The site made him stop. He noticed the emotionless expression upon the young dragon's face. Sad eyes slow breathing. Normally he wouldn't get involved. He had enough in his life to deal with already but...."fuck it"no time like the present to break a rule. E hiven a personal one.
15 Spike didn't even notice as the figure approached. Hell he probably wouldn't have noticed if he was a manticore. All spike could do is think about his sorrows."hey kiddo can't help but notice you're looking a little down."spike rolled his eyes at the word kiddo. But he wasn't about to be rude."I'm fine..." Spike was not very convincing. "Let me guess heartbroken?"the words caught spike off guard this time.
16."wha how did?" The figure in the hood just chuckled a slight bit. "you're laying down in the grass and staring into nothingness ,you look like someone just told you your puppy died ,and you took enough mints for me to smell it from here. Trust me I've been exactly where you are right now." The figure then took a seat next to the poor Drake.
17."is it really that obvious." The Drake groaned."well maybe Im just good at reading people." The figure gave off a small laugh. He then wrestled around in his cloak before sticking out his jet black hoof. Upon which he held a long green almost Bamboo like stick."Here try this."Spike eyed the figure with confusion.
18."Trust me just chew it."Spike grabbed the stick."You want me to eat a stick?"the figure just started to laugh."Nah just chew it's sugar cane."Spike raised an eyebrow at him. The name of sugarcane was familiar but he wasn't quite sure why. Still he might as well take a bite what's the worst that could happen. He brought the cane to his mouth an bit down on it.
18. All he register from the taste was a savory sweetness as juices poured from the plant."not bad right?"spike could only nod as he continue to chew. The figure then started to examine Spike. And something immediately stood out. Spike was short no larger than a hatchling maybe a little bigger but not by much. Additionally his scales were definitely that of a more mature Dragon although he couldn't help but realize that he lacked a certain glow to them. Lastly were the wings that a hatchling wouldn't have which tells him quite a bit about the young creature.
19"Excuse me uh"spike then looked to him."the names Spike."The figure seem to have nodded although it was hard to tell through the hood."I can't help but notice if I had a guess you're about 17ish I couldn't help but notice your size I believe there's an issue with your diet."Spike then looked at him dumbfounded."what do you mean I eat gems all the time I'm more than satisfied."there was an awkward silence after that that went on a few seconds too long."kiddo I don't know how to tell you this but the reason you're so short is actually due to your dietary needs. A dragon's body is very complex and without the proper nutrients you're not really going to grow at all. And the fact is since you've only been eating gems I'm surprised you aren't facing more health issues I'm sure you have great fire but that's all you're going to get from the gems. Hell I'm sure you got your wings late as well."Spike just stood at him wide eyed."wait really!"
20. The figure nodded."Yeah didn't your parents tell you this I mean this is pretty common information for dragons." Spike give out a soft sigh."actually I was raised by princess Twilight." The figure then brought a hoof to its chin."well that truly explains a lot most ponies don't really know a lot about dragons hmmm. And I have to guess you probably don't know alot about your anatomy an instinctual needs." Spike could feel his cheeks redden by this."I can't lie I really don't even my dragon friends haven't been that helpful in explaining things."The figure gave out a sigh. He felt bad for this poor dragon. He had his heart broken and didn't even know about himself. It would be easy enough to just leave maybe offer him a book or something. Then again he can't really think of the last time he saw a book on dragons.
21. He could also just perhaps give some information to the princess but that would also involve having to interact with another pony. Additionally he doubted the pony could handle the task of actually training a dragon to live a dragon life. She would probably faint at the first mention of hunting. So he was really only left with one option."Well kiddo I guess if you'd like I actually am pretty knowledgeable in this I could attempt to teach you if your willing. At the very least I could get you on track."Spike nearly jumped at the offer. For the first time in a long time someone actually offered him knowledge for dragons and this time it wasn't garble. "Of course! When can we start."The figure took s step back but quickly checked himself."I suppose we can start tomorrow by the Everfree Forest just over by the edge of the lake. Around 1 I'll make sure to stick around."He actually couldn't believe what he was doing but it was already too late to turn back now.
22. Spike can really feel his wings flapping in excitement."I can't wait to learn and finally break out of this short mess."the terrible joke landed the Drake a courtesy laugh."oh sorry I forgot to ask what's your name."The figure went silent for a moment it had been quite a bit since someone had asked him for his name."people call me Sparks I suppose it will do."spike couldn't help but give a smile"it's very nice to meet you Sparks."

The Final Manga (for now)
Tumblr media
Fluttershy is throwing a party for all her non-pony friends. This includes Discord. But he ruined her scavenger hunt by just magicing all the items to them. Observing, the Pony friends call out Discord for ruining this for her with Rainbow Dash saying he couldn’t do any better. Cue to Post-Series Finale and Discord finally figuring out his Scavanger hunt: they must travel to other dimensions and find the Elements of Harmony.
Tumblr media
Of course, by Season 9′s end they were destroyed. So he took these during their encounter with Nightmare Moon. And since MLP established time travel having a butterfly effect, he basically changed Equestria into the Nightmare Kingdom with only 5 of the main six retaining their memories but slowly losing it. Twilight, being out of Discord’s influence, is a little bonkers talking to a rock recreation of Spike. Also, he can’t bring them back because he made sure even he can’t interfere.
Tumblr media
So combining the first and second manga, while there is an overarching storyline each middle chapter focuses on one of the Girls. Fluttershy enters a dimension where she’s a big time celebrity and the only way to get to the element is to face her stage fright, again. To be fair, Discord is messing with the timelines and from their Final Episode designs to their more recognizable designs, it looks like they’re slowly losing the development they had. Which means this Fluttershy is unable to face her fears, but luckily the audience thinks its part of the act when two Fluttershys show up and one disappears.
Tumblr media
Rarity’s Dimension is where everyone is stuck in the 80s and that includes the fashion. But to get her Element Rarity has to win a Fashion Contest to save the Foal Center from being demolished. While throwing everything into the wall, she manages to tie since her opponent just copied her design but inverted the colors. So to break the tie it is a battle of Rubix Cubes and Rarity demolishes her opponent because she actually has color coordination.
Tumblr media
Pinkie Pie is in a world of Super Heroes as she has to team up with the Somber Twilight and her former sidekick Spyke (because Poor Literacy is KEWL) to find the Pink Piester. Also the Apple Family is a gang of criminals. This is the easiest since Twilight goes through with this like a weekly basis and the Piester is basically Pinkie if she was a bad guy. Pinkie saves the day by not only getting her element, but also making the giant pie that was gonna wreck the city disappear with her.
Tumblr media
With Rainbow Dash, she has to team up with herself, which this world doesn’t really seem to have any major difference. They identify it as an Element of Harmony. Ponyville is their residence. The only difference is they have a race track that’s next to a gravity well. If the Element of Harmony goes too fast, the Sonic Boom it’ll create will unleash the Black Hole, sucking in most of Equestria. Another point to Planet Equestria? She can’t go too fast either because a Sonic Rainboom will just do the same thing. So other Dash comes in and they come up with a plan: speed up fast enough to create a Sonic Rainboom but time it just right so it only happens in her normal world. And it works.
Tumblr media
Applejack ends up in the Manga World of the First Manga and teams up with her Ninjas self to defeat DIO before getting her element of Honesty. Words can’t describe how funny this chapter is. So many tropes and Dark Matter Apples. But despite how fun this one is, I don’t think its the best chapter. FOR YOU SEE!!!
Tumblr media
Generation 4 Twilight accidentally took the place of Generation 1 Twilight and has to do the movie Midnight Castle. Even though this is a messed up version of our Twilight, I always wanted to see this done and it is great! If you got to read this Manga for one thing its this. And with all of them getting their Elements, they make it back to their normal time...
Tumblr media
Which is currently under the control of Nightmare Moon. Of course since the Dimensions flow differently, others arrive sooner than others. So Twilight comes in first, followed by Rarity and Applejack, then Fluttershy followed by Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. We got Spike leading a resistance group, the Apple Ninjas showing up, Fluttershy Beastmaster, its a riot I wish we could have seen animated. But with Nightmare Moon defeated, Discord returns the Elements of Harmony back to their original time and restore their world...
Tumblr media
To the Pony Life Incarnation. Thus making Pony Life a legit continuation of our series thanks to Discord messing with time. Of course not. Secondary Media is usually ignored for the Prime if they contradict things. If they do or not depends. Overall, its a fun Manga. Thanks to Time Shenanigans any issues you may have with their development could be blamed on that and it is nice to see the bridge of what originally came before and what came after. If Gen 5 is a continuation, I hope its a fun one.

Psycho Analysis: Liev Schreiber Birthday Special - Sabretooth, Kingpin, and The Storm King
Tumblr media
(WARNING! This analysis contains SPOILERS!)
Liev Schreiber is quite an actor, one that I think it is sadly easy to overlook despite his talent at portraying villains or other morally dubious characters. From his integral role in the Scream movies to his later numerous villainous roles, he manages to show himself as a rather skilled and versatile actor, particularly in regards to the latter; Schreiber is easily able to slip into playing a villain and deliver a fantastic performance… most of the time anyway.
The date I’m posting this on (October 4, 2019) is his birthday, so we’re going to take a look at three of his biggest villain roles to date:
Tumblr media
Sabretooth from X-Men Origins
Tumblr media
The Storm King from My Little Pony: The Movie
Tumblr media
Kingpin from Into the Spider-Verse
The first is a great villain trapped in an awful movie; the second is an awful villain inside a fun and enjoyable movie; and the third is a great villain in an outstanding movie.
Motivation/Goals: Sabretooth is, in short, a psychopath. The guy lives for the thrill of battle, and is never satisfied unless he has someone to kill. He’s a predator, using the numerous wars he and his half-brother Logan fought in throughout history to sate his appetite, but it was never enough. Vietnam is when he really lost it, and soon after that his relationship with Logan became tarnished, leading to their numerous conflicts throughout the film. It’s rather simple, yet it’s effective. This is what we want from Sabretooth after all, a bloodthirsty, murderous psychopath who crosses every line imaginable and who just really wants to make Logan as miserable as possible.
The Storm King is kind of approaching dominating Equestria as if it were a business venture, complete with merchandise. Beyond that, he’s a bit of a one-note evil overlord, with none of the complex motivations and characterizations of the other antagonist of the film, Tempest Shadow. He’s just here for some quick laughs and to be the final boss in the third act.
Kingpin has my favorite motivation out of the entire lot: once when he was battling with Spider-Man, his wife and child walked in, and in fear and horror they fled, driving off only to be struck by a truck and killed. Kingpin then shoveled as much money as he could and hired the likes of Doc Ock and Green Goblin to help create a giant dimensional portal all so he could be reunited with his family. It’s such a tragic motive that adds layers of depth to Kingpin, and ultimately makes him an interesting foil for Miles, who decides to continue fighting so he can live up to those he loses (Peter and his uncle) while Kingpin cannot accept his loss or his responsibility and so decides to damn everyone else in his desperate struggle to undo the damage he himself caused.
Personality: Sabretooth is easily the most simple of the villains, in that he is just a completely unrepentant monster who revels in the fact he is a vicious, remorseless killer. Normally a villain like that would be boring and generic… but this is Sabretooth. This is what we want out of him. Add in his brotherly banter with Wolverine and his single-minded desire to ruin Logan’s life at every turn, and he just ends up being a really fun and engaging take on the character, with Schreiber injecting just the right amount of soft-spoken sadism and menace to make Victor Creed pants-crappingly terrifying.
Kingpin is a sleazy, scummy mob boss. He’s another seemingly simple character, but his design really helps show what kind of guy he is without telling us. This iteration of Wilson Fisk really plays up him being a mountain of a man, with him being a hulking behemoth with a very bulky design. Despite being a normal human, he looks like the kind of guy who could kill a superhuman with his bare hands. Despite all this, he does have sympathetic  (but, and this can’t be stressed enough, not redeeming) qualities, such as his love for his family and his single-minded desire to be reunited with them. Of course, this desire is what leads to most of the troubles in the film, so he does show the dangers of that sort of careless and reckless pursuit of a goal is a bad thing, no matter how noble it seems.
Final Fate: The Storm King is the only character out of these three with a clear-cut fate, and it goes a long way to redeeming how bland the character is due to how out-of-place and dark it seems in the world of Friendship is Magic. In short, he is turned to stone, and his statue is allowed to drop to the ground, where he shatters into pieces. By all accounts, he is dead, a fate that seems to befall all terrible Friendship is Magic villains (cough Sombra cough).
Kingpin is the most open-ended, as after Miles stops him and in true Spider-Man fashion strings him up for the police. This does open up the door for Kingpin to appear again, which is a plus. The final showdown beforehand is a lot more interesting. The beatdown he gets from Miles, where Miles gets up from the pummeling that killed Peter and delivering a confident “Hey” like his uncle taught him right on Kingpin’s shoulder, sending him flying back to shut down his dimensional portal really is an  awesome moment for the film and Miles in general.
Sabretooth… it really is impossible to say. He apparently makes it out of this film alive, but Schreiber’s Sabretooth is so disconnected from the one who appears later in the timeline (mostly on the token that Schreiber’s take is actually good and memorable) that it’s impossible what to say happened to him. Further muddying the waters is the numerous canon retcons to the timeline as shown in films like Days of Future Past, which altered the timeline in baffling ways such as causing people to be born earlier than they would have been, and then there’s the deleted idea for his cameo in Logan… Really, there’s no telling what exactly Happened to Victor Creed, as the X-Men series is such an utter mess.
Best Scene: Sabretooth has a few, such as the awesome opening montage where he and his brother fight through multiple wars, but perhaps the best part is when he and Wolverine team up to kill that awful thing pretending to be Deadpool. The real Deadpool would beat them to the punch much later in Deadpool 2, but hey, at least he knew what had to be done when he had the chance.
Kingpin’s is almost definitely the scene where he kills Peter, which shows him going through a shocking amount of emotion, but there’s also the flashback to his family’s demise or even that moment on the train where he becomes a lifetime achiever in the Pontoffel Pock Awards by screwing up in every conceivable reality imaginable and disturbing an entire multiverse worth of his family in his quest to murder Miles. Few people screw up on that epic of a scale.
The Storm King… I don’t know. He’s kinda scary in his final battle? Maybe when he plays with the sun and the moon? Nothing really stands out for him super well, because quite frankly he is massively overshadowed by Tempest Shadow, who has the honor of getting the villain song of the movie. And let me be completely frank: if you are a villain in a musical, and you don’t get a song, you suck. Period.
Best Quote: For Sabretooth, it has to be this quote that really sums up who he is: “I'm not your friend. I'm an animal, who dreamed he was a man. But the dream is over. And the beast is awake. And I will come for you without mercy, because it's my nature.”
Kingpin is a little trickier, because Wilson Fisk is a man of actions, rather than words; I feel like he doesn’t have too many great quips, but he has a plethora of awesome actions. However, I DO enjoy his intro, where Schreiber just kills it with the delivery and establishes Fisk right off the bat as one hell of a crime boss: “Doo-be do. Doo-be do. Yub-yub, doo-bee do, doo-bee-do. Watch out! Here comes the Spider-Man! You like my new toy? Cost me a fortune, but hey, can't take it with you, right? You came all this way. Watch the test. It's a hell of a frickin' light show, you're gonna love this.”
For Storm King… well, this is kind of a funny line: “Here's the deal. I'm in the middle of a big rebrand here. "The Storm King" is tracking, well, as "intensely intimidating", but you know what? I need to back it up. You know what I need to back it up with? A STORM! THAT WOULD BE GREAT! You promised me magic that could control the elements, and right now, I'm holding a what? A branch. A twig. Bleh!” Kind of a reach, but I think he does have some decent comedic moments here and there, and his initial, er, phone call with Tempest is charming enough.
Final Thoughts & Score: These guys are really all over the place, but I think they really showcase Schreiber’s talents very well, as well as how to use him effectively.
Sabretooth is easily the best villain out of this bunch. While X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a terrible, bloated mess of a film, Sabretooth is one of the few redeeming factors, with Schreiber turning in a wonderfully terrifying performance as Logan’s arch-enemy. It’s frankly insulting they never had him come back to the franchise, because he was certainly far more deserving of a comeback than someone like Jennifer Lawrence. At least with Schreiber it was clear he cared about the character, which is more than can be said for whoever played the original Sabretooth (a character who is not even worth a Psycho Analysis; there’s just nothing to talk about there).
Really, the only major issues with Sabretooth are the fact that he’s in the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the X-Men franchise and the writing doesn’t do him many favors, but Schreiber is just acting his butt off to the point where it doesn’t matter, he’s selling it, he’s giving us the Sabretooth even the “better” first X-Men movie couldn’t deliver, and he seriously earns that 9/10. It should come as no shock that his take on Victor Creed is the one thing besides Ryan Reynolds fans truly love about the film.
Contrast the Storm King, who is just a depressing waste of potential. The prequel comics set him up to be something far more fascinating than what we get in the movie; he goes from a silly yet cunning overlord to a comical goober who barely gets any screentime, accomplishes half of his evil actions offscreen, and just leaves very little impression on the audience. Not helping is that he is by and large one of the biggest idiots ever seen in the Friendship is Magic franchise, backstabbing his own loyal followers for no good reason and basically playing with his hand revealed. It’s pretty telling that his henchwoman Tempest Shadow is the one who gets the villain song of the film (which, as I’ve pointed out, is a sign that he really, really sucks as a villain) and who is far more memorable, enjoyable, and interesting.
All that being said, I do appreciate the sentiment of the character, and I do like that Schreiber did it so his kids could watch something with him in it that wouldn’t make them scared out of their minds, and I don’t necessarily think Storm King is one of the most horrible villains ever or anything – he’s just boring and a waste of potential. I’d say he just barely makes it to a 3/10, and that’s mostly because he does have some amusing moments and how bad he is is offset by Tempest Shadow being such a fantastic antagonist; if she wasn’t in the movie, he’d easily be a low 2 and a lot less forgivable. That does seem kind of weird, but I think with a villain like Storm King where he’s just a simple goofball being played by a talented actor isn’t so bad as long as there’s an actual, serious antagonist. It doesn’t exactly make him any better but it keeps him from sinking to the rating of soomeone like Jared Leto’s Joker.
Kingpin is, quite simply, fantastic. I love his design, I love his motivation, I love how he just commands the scene when he walks into the room. This guy is just peak villain design, story-wise and design-wise. Some have taken umbrage with the fact that Kingpin is the one who got to kill Peter rather than a more personal foe like Norman Osborn, but frankly I like that they took a unique approach and decided to utilize a more unexpected foe of Spidey’s.
I think what’s best about Kingpin is just how they manage to make him a rather tragic and pitiable figure despite all the evil he does. Normally it would be a tall order to make the man who murders Peter Parker a tragic figure, but somehow the film manages, showing him to be a bitter, broken man desperately clinging to the tiny hope he could ever see his family again by destroying the dimensional barriers, no matter the cost. And if someone tries to tell him otherwise? Kill ‘em. Obviously this doesn’t excuse his actions, and the movie thankfully never pretends to, but I like that they made this Kingpin such a rich character in his own right, continuing the trend of Kingpin always being given a fantastic performance. Much like Sabretooth, Schreiber really earns the 9/10 with this fantastic vocal performance and just how impactful and even proactive Kingpin is in the story. He gets two major deaths to his name after all.
Liev Schreiber is such a fascinating actor, one who I think is so often overlooked and ignored. While he certainly is typecast as villains fairly often, I think it’s safe to say he excels at those kinds of roles, and he always manages to inject something unique into his roles. You wouldn’t confuse any of these three villains for each other after all.

Post-Series Finale Mod Note
Well, the series has finally wrapped up. And I felt like it’d be proper to let you guys know’s what I’m doing next and also my thoughts on some of the episodes since the last update.
I want to rest assure that I still have plans to continue this blog for a decent while and in fact hope to have another big story akin to Return to Saddle Arabia sometime next year that addresses some things that never got mentioned in the show that would be relevant to the story of Genie Twilight (Ex: Spike when he was just an Egg prior to Twilight hatching him). In terms of more near future stuff though, I will probably do a little episode response to the final episode of the series.
Anyway, regarding the finale itself. I felt it was AMAZING. I’ll probably get to doing a my thoughts on post for the two-parter and the epilogue episode all on it’s own. Because I really want to focus, re-watch, and gush about so many details of those last 3 episodes. How much did I like the finale? Can I just tell you that the two-parter alone is actually challenging Twilight’s Kingdom for my new favorite episode of the series? It’s outright awesome the series got to end with a bang like this. The epilogue episode was also great, very bittersweet in parts, but I’d say it’s also within the Top 10 of the series and the ending song I’m sure made just about every fan in the series well up in tears.
After the break though, I’ll be giving some thoughts on the episodes since then as I want to just entirely focus on Finale stuff. If you want to hear some of my opinions regarding any specific things in the finale faster though. Feel free to sound off an ask over on my mod blog. But for now, here’s some thoughts about episodes 14-23 of Season 9
THE LAST LAUGH
It was quite cool to see Weird Al come back one more time to the series. Of course, this wasn’t as jam packed with awesome music and moments as his character’s debut performance back in Season 4. But it was a fun episode, though I wonder if they should of put a little more hints regarding something that comes up in the Series Finale. (Though perhaps the Pinkie plush we see in Cheese’s room might be something)
2, 4, 6, GREAT
Yeaaaaaah... if every season has their dud(/s) this is probably Season 9′s for sure. Once again Rainbow’s more dickish then she should be at this point of the series. And while I can understand that they’re different characters. I can’t help but be reminded of Human Rainbow in Friendship Games when she was doing her song for the pep rally. That very much felt like what a Rainbow Dash should actually be doing if they’re hired to lead a cheerleading squad. Kind of sucks though that Rainbow often does seem to get a dud episode in many seasons of the show (Mare-Do-Well Season 2, Rainbow Falls Season 4, 28 Pranks Later Season 6, Non-Compete Clause Season 8). Rainbow’s still my 2nd favorite pony, but sometimes that becomes hard to say after particular episodes.
A TRIVIAL PURSUIT
I’m a little mixed on this one, it’s fun to see Twilight freak out again. But something about this episode screams “Wrong season”. Especially since the very next episode gets into how Twilight has matured as she is closer to taking the role of ruler of Equestria. This kind of episode might of been fine if it had been made anywhere between Season 2-Season 5. Not the final season where she’s heading towards being the new ruler, it’d be kind of worrisome to know your next leader went bonkers trying to win a game of trivia.
THE SUMMER SUN SETBACK
Now this was a good one! A nice setup with the villain trio messing with the Mane 6′s Summer Sun celebration plans while they try to get information about Grogar’s bell. And while it became slightly muddled by the trivia episode prior to this, the note about Twilight’s character development is nicely appreciated. It’s kind of a shame that besides the opener, only this episode and Frenemies were the episodes that built up to the two-parter later. Said two-parter is still one of the best of the series, but it may have helped to have a little more build-up to it during the Season then it actually did.
SHE TALKS TO ANGEL
This was a fun Fluttershy episode for certain, we get to know exactly what Angel feels even if that’s through Fluttershy’s own body. So we can get a sense of really of what Fluttershy’s had to deal with for years heh. Also, the “I wanna marry Discord” off-hand line is pretty funny. Even if now it drives shippers crazy. You either take it that Angel is trolling, or Angel knows something that we don’t. Doesn’t help that something in the finale might of left things very ambiguous on this front.
DRAGON DROPPED
I think it’s actually good that Spike’s essentially outgrew his devotion to Rarity. Of course he’s still willing to help her from time to time as in the ending, but it’s great that he can kind of explore other things he wants to do and/or meet new friends. On a side note though, the first time Rarity’s practicing her apology had to have been one of the funniest moments in a while.
A HORSE SHOE-IN
The final Starlight episode gives her role as being promoted to being the new headmare of the School of Friendship. Which is a fair role to give her though I don’t know if that actually might feel a little underwhelming for fans of her. I mean, I’m glad she’s not like.. going to become a Princess herself as those were exactly the worst fears everyone had about Starlight. But it’s certainly a strange journey to go from a season-long villain, Twilight’s student for one season and the openers and finale of that season being more about her then it was Twilight and the others, to simply being in charge of a school at the end. That school’s still important, don’t get me wrong. It’s just that everything with Starlight doesn’t seem easy to explain as it still stems that we practically got nothing substantial about her after her rather quick turnaround in the Season 5 finale. I’m still as lukewarm as ever with Starlight. I do wonder if there will be a Starlight in G5, she may instantly have a better reception since G4 Starlight has quite the baggage.
On the episode itself though, it feel weird to have this moral of “Don’t hire your friends” only for Starlight to do exactly that by hiring both Sunburst and Trixie. Granted, Sunburst is probably competent. But I think I would of liked to see more of how Trixie would do as counselor more then just standing up for Gallus that one time. Just doesn’t feel right. I think I enjoyed the episode to some extent still, but it probably would of been better if Sunburst was part of the process. So maybe you can an addendum to the moral that sometimes your friends can also be good for the job while others aren’t
DARING DOUBT
Daring Do episodes are almost always fun. Though I do gotta say it’s weird to go with the whole Ahuizotl was misunderstood thing when I believe one of his thing was to try to make 800 years of unrelenting heat? What exactly was that about. But eh, might just have to be pushed with the pile of stuff like Marble and Big Mac.
GROWING UP IS HARD TO DO
It was pretty fun to see the CMC as grown-ups (Even though how funny would it be that we’d get to see that anyway during the finale. I wonder if perhaps this episode came into development simply because they planned the finale to be a timeskip long ago and decided to have a little more use for the flash assets of the adult CMC in a proper episode). A little more bittersweet when you look at Scoots though as you see that she still has small wings, nice attention to detail on her disability though.
THE BIG MAC QUESTION
And the final regular episode of the show is dedicated to getting Big Mac hitched and crazy Discord shenanigans. All I can say is it was a fun episode through and through and even brought back the sort of reality show interview stuff we saw in that one Season 6 Rarity episode
SEASON 9 THOUGHTS OVERALL
I still want to give the Finale it’s own thought section because I think it really deserves attention on it’s own. I thought I’d just give a general thoughts on Season 9. Besides the finale, Season 9 actually felt kind of on the underwhelming side of things. There are definitely good episodes popping up there and there, it just felt like it wasn’t really feeling like most of the episodes were taking any credence to how the show was wrapping up soon. Thankfully the Finale more then makes up for it, but it felt like a lot more could of been done to set things up for the big finale. The finale will no doubt be Season 9′s crown jewel and I do want to share as much thoughts as I possibly can about them when I get to it.
Regardless, this has been a fun series to keep watch on. Hopefully many of us still have some fandom things to look forward to making and/or seeing even as of course with our main show over we’ll see even less productivity at least until we see what Generation 5 will be like. See you guys again soon for when I have a response and big thoughts for the finale episodes!

Season 9 Retrospective
One last ride.
If this final season proved anything, it’s that nothing matters anymore. I mean, it’s kind of been that way for the last few, but this one crystallized that. The final score (W-L-T) was 1-5-20; the sheer amount of “meh” episodes is staggering.
I wonder how this show will stand the test of time. If it had aired for just those first two seasons, it probably would have been a classic, “canceled too soon” series that maintained its small but passionate group of fans for decades to come. That’s not going to be the effect, though, if you keep a series going well after the point that it should have ended. If you continue out of momentum for six or seven years past its expiration date, you’re going to end up driving your fans away by creating an atmosphere of apathy, and indeed, that’s exactly what happened. Sure, diminishing returns are still returns, but you’re going to reach a point where the majority of people have dropped off, and that’s when not even your financial responsibilities will justify your existence anymore. It might ironically turn out that the longer the show runs, the less it will be remembered. For a recent example, look at what happened to the Transformers movies. From the fiscal side, you had what looked like a good thing going; it was just a whole bunch of people complaining that these movies sucked, which didn’t matter to you as long as you were still making money. And then the fifth film came out, and you lost $100 million. Everyone who was still continuing to give these movies a chance had officially run out of patience. (I guess continuing well past anyone giving a shit is something Hasbro has yet to learn from.)
Anyway, enough rambling. This final ranking is going to be tricky, since there were just so many Tie episodes that I really didn’t give a shit about, but #1 is going to be easy because there was only one Win in the entire season. That would be...
#1. “Student Counsel”: Once again, putting Starlight and Trixie in an episode together will basically guarantee hilarious dialogue. I don’t know why they’re not getting their own spin-off.
And it’s a pretty steep drop-off from there...
#2. “Between Dark and Dawn”: I guess seeing more of the sisterly relationship between Celestia and Luna was halfway interesting (even if it wasn’t that different from what we saw in “A Royal Problem”). The fact that they seemed to forget about the main storyline at the end was kind of dumb, though.
#3. “Twilight’s Seven”: You know what, at least it was different. A heist? Sure, why not?
#4. “The Last Laugh”: There’s something ironic about this show having an episode about how it’s bad to move from doing something creative (and that you love doing) to a mechanized, monotonous process of doing the same thing and losing the passion and interest you once had. I wonder if the writers were aware of what they were doing here.
#5. “The Summer Sun Setback”: When you get right down to it, this plot wasn’t too different from the finale. This one was just smaller and focused on a single event. Either way, at least Tirek and Cozy Glow had fun fucking with them a little.
#6. “A Horse Shoe-In”: Some of the teaching auditions were kind of fun, but this wasn’t a Starlight/Trixie episode that had a ton of humorous dialogue. Very disappointing.
#7. “The Point of No Return”: Twilight doesn’t freak out about minor stuff anymore! That’s why she’s going to rule Equestria very, very soon. If I lived in Equestria, I’d be terrified for my future.
#8. “Common Ground”: I kind of wish the moral here could have been, “It’s possible not to have the same interests as someone else and still have a healthy relationship with them,” but with this show, we’ll have to settle for, “If you look really, really hard, you’ll be able to find an aspect of their interest that you like enough to keep yourself entertained.”
#9. “Sweet and Smoky”: “If you’re useful, people will stop making fun of you.” The lesson of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, now in dragon form!
#10. “She’s All Yak”: “Tell me about it...stud!” I never got on board with the “Yona is best yak” train (I mostly just found her obnoxious), but I absolutely agree with the “Jesus Christ, please stop trying to kill her!” crowd.
#11. “The Big Mac Question”: This was probably the most in-one-ear-and-out-the-other episode this season. I don’t even remember what happened. Big Mac married Cheerilee, right?
#12. “Frenemies”: I’ll be honest, this is the episode that aired while I was at Everfree Northwest, and I wasn’t really paying attention. The only thing I remember about it is “Gregory’s Bell”. As far as I know, that was actually in the episode proper.
#13 & #14. “The Beginning of the End”: Weird that Sombra never came back. Nope, he’s totally super-duper for reals defeated this time.
#15 & #16. “The Ending of the End”: I’ve mentioned this before, but big, epic battles do absolutely nothing for me when there isn’t any substance to them. If some super-powerful being is fighting some other super-powerful being, it’s no different from a normal being fighting another normal being. Scaling it up doesn’t make it more interesting. The plan involving undermining everypony’s trust in each other was a good idea, but they forgot that every single background character in this show is dumb as a box of hammers and changes allegiance on a dime, so that was never really going to work. Plus, the fact that it was Discord the whole time was just...ugh.
#17. “Dragon Dropped”: Oh, really, Rarity? Now you care about Spike? Geez. We can’t end the show without Spike continuing to be a punching bag. (But he’s buff in the last episode, so it’s fine.)
#18. “The Last Crusade”: Given how a few of the later episodes on this list, I’m surprised it didn’t turn out that Scootaloo’s parents were secretly testing her the entire time. “We just wanted to make sure that you really meant it when you said you didn’t want to move!”
#19. “Uprooted”: After Sombra destroys the Tree of Harmony, the Student Six have to work together to...decide how best to memorialize it. I just wanted to remind everyone how moronic the premise of this episode was. That’s all.
#20. “The Last Problem”: God, this framing device sucked. Without it, this episode might have been higher on the list. As it was, it rendered the entire thing pointless.
#21. “Daring Doubt”: Wow, it turned out the villain wasn’t really the villain the whole time! Please ignore any contradictory information that may have cropped up in previous episodes.
Did you notice that there were three unrelated episodes this season whose titles began with “The Last...”? Talk about uncreative.
#22. “Going to Seed”: Children really don’t need more outlets encouraging them to believe adults who lie to them for their own gain and/or pleasure. There really needs to be a show that teaches, “There are people out there who profit from lying to you.”
#23. “2, 4, 6, Greaaat”: This and the next one on this list are the double-header of “It’s okay to trick and manipulate someone if you think it’ll teach them a lesson they need to learn!” episodes.
#24. “She Talks to Angel”: Notice in both of these cases (Rainbow Dash’s in the former, Fluttershy’s in the latter) that these were not, in fact, lessons that they needed to learn! Twilight and Zecora just got to be smug assholes and pat themselves on the back at the end. Yippee.
#25. “A Trivial Pursuit”: Remember, this was the episode immediately before Celestia told Twilight how qualified she was to run a country. This was a mere seven episodes before the finale. Character growth is super easy if you just say that it happened! Also, as a major trivia buff, this was just insulting on every level.
#26. “Growing Up Is Hard to Do”: This episode really brought back the name of my blog. After so many that I didn’t care about, it felt good to have a nice long rant again, and boy, did this one deserve it.
So...what will G5 bring? Different characters? Different stories? Different writers? At this point, who knows? Maybe I’ll be there to find out.

Best Redemptions Of Friendship is Magic (Major Villains)
Tumblr media
So today, in light of Season 9 approaching I’m going to give my ranking of reformed or redeemed major villains in Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls because Friendship is Magic! However, this is going to be divided into four different categories:
Major Villians (Friendship Is Magic)
Secondary Antagonists
Equestria Girls Villains
Overall
So this can give insight on how many villains have been reformed/redeemed (because there’s too damn many) and who’s still left in play for Season 9 and the rest of Equestria Girls. So with that let’s start with major villains which are:
Luna/Nightmare Moon (Season 1 Premire)
Discord (Season 2 Premire) (technically Season 4 Premire because he spread the plundervines in the first place)
Chrysalis is still at large (Season 2 Finale) (Season 6 Finale)
Sombra is currently shattered into pieces (I’m not counting the comics show only) (Season 3 Premire)
Tirek is imprisoned at Tartarus (Season 4 Finale)
Starlight Glimmer (Season 5 Premire and Season 5 Finale)
Stygian/Pony Of Shadows (Season 7 Finale)
The Storm King is shattered into pieces (My Little Pony Movie)
Tempest Shadow (My Little Pony The Movie)
Chancellor Neighsay (Season 8 Premire)
Cozy Glow is imprisoned at Tartarus (Season 8 Finale)
So out of eight seasons and a movie we’ve had a total of 11 villains and 6/11 got redeemed or reformed, or take out those who are imprisoned or shattered and you still get 6/11 so Friendship Is Magic for the win! Ok onto the rankings!
6. Starlight Glimmer
Tumblr media
Reformation: Her. Reformation. Sucked. Easily at the bottom and this is not because I don’t like Starlight as a character but even if I did like her, he reformation was rushed. SHE even has constant doubts about herself and what a suitable punishment for herself is. But let’s remember she has what she did from The Cutie Map also. But her reformation consisted of a song montage, hanging out with each of the Mane 6 for like a second, moving to Ponyville, and getting easily forgiven by the members of Our Town.
Redemption: Now Season 6, was obviously Starlight’s Arc of Redemption and...sure she learned how to not steal ponies cutie marks anymore...but that’s it. Other than that she still does the same mistakes and hasn’t really learned from them and it goes on past Season 6 too. In fact the thing that’s funny is that Celestial Advice showcased Starlight graduating and one of Twilight’s characteristics that she mentioned of Starlight is honest...then in the very next episode she decides not to tell Twilight about what happened with the map table. Graduating student, everyone. But she makes the same mistakes after she learns from them as everyone else in the show does but at least they tend to break out of it, Starlight so far hasn’t and I honestly don’t think she will.
5. Chancellor Neighsay
Tumblr media
Reformation: Once again, it was quick and in a dire situation but it was alright. Neighsay learned not do judge different creatures...I guess. The Student 6 helped him escape the chains of Cozy Glow while he thought that The Student 6 were behind the stolen magic. Pretty solid lesson.
Redemption: He resigned the EEA medallion and that’s it. Nothing else is known.
4. Stygian
Tumblr media
Reformation: The thing is...Stygian didn’t really get to do anything as the Pony Of Shadows...and that it wasn’t entirely his fault for being the Pony Of Shadows. However to be fair, if Stygian would’ve talked to the Pillars before hand about his having his own weight to the team then things would’ve possibly gone differently. But he only appeared in the second half as The Pony Of Shadow’s and the only thing he really did was destroy Ponehenge. *coughs* WASTEDPOTENTIAL *coughs*
Redemption: He wrote three books about his past that are hits. Currently in the comics helping Luna out.
3. Tempest Shadow
Tumblr media
Reformation: She sees the meaning behind friendship and why it’s important as opposed to being alone and how she does that is by going off to the places where the Storm King liberated and tries to help out and correct her mistakes by thinking of others as opposed to thinking about herself and regaining something she lost.
Redemption: She shows it more in the comics where she meets her old friend Glitter Drops and the two make up with some time and an Ursa Minor cub. Currently helping Luna with a mission comic wise.
2. Princess Luna
Tumblr media
Reformation: Her reformation lacks a bit only for the simple fact that she got blasted by The Elements and was turned back to normal.
Redemption: I’m not gonna lie, Luna is personally in my Top 5 Favorite characters in the series overall and the ways she’s trying to redeem herself are good. The best portrayal of this would have to be Luna Eclipsed where Luna was re-introduced and redesigned (still misses short mane Luna). Here the episode presents herself on how everybody feared her back as Nightmare Moon and she wants to redeem herself but she needs to adjust after being gone for a thousand years. (Season 8 tried and rushed it with the Pillars but I’m not really complaining). So Twilight helps her do just that and she wins back the hearts of Ponyville and...she has a few episodes about helping the CMC with their problems but the thing is that she’’s trusting again and not seen as Nightmare Moon but Princess Luna to everyone...except herself which is where Do Princesses Dream Of Magic Sleep comes in. Reformed villains tend to guilt trip about their actions and here’s why it works well for Luna in that episode, she doesn’t show up too often. She learned to overcome the guilt of her actions as Nightmare Moon to create the Tantabus in the first place and since then....has been pushed to the sidelines. And there was that one episode where her and Celestia were fighting over who has the worse duties and they both wanted attention form each other but...not getting into that.
1. Discord
Tumblr media
Redemption: Admittedly, we still don’t know too much about Discord even after 8 seasons but I’ll say this. Discord has the best redemption arc in the whole series (not overall). Originally, Discord was faking the reform game just so that he could win Fluttershy’s trust so that she couldn’t use her Element Of Harmony against him so that he wouldn’t go back to stone and was playing her but he slowly began to see that she was genuinely being hospitable and kind when no one else would and he realized “after he was free” that in doing so would make him lose the one friend who genuinely cared about him and he didn’t want that and since then he’ll do anything for Fluttershy. He even nearly faded out of existence just so that he could make Fluttershy have a tea party that was suited to her liking.
Reformation: He still causes mischief pranks but it’s not like what he did in his debut episode. And he learned his lesson from Twilight’s Kingdom majorly to not trust bad guys and again your individual freedom isn’t worth losing a friend over...in Friendship is Magic’s case. Oh and...the Twilight and Discord dynamic is great honestly, if Fluttershy’s his favorite pony to be around, his second favorite pony to be around has to be Twilight, then Celestia. (I demand an episode with just those four)
But that’s my list on the best ranked reformations and redemptions in Friendship is Magic.

Listen. I have a lot of headcanons about Prince Blueblood that makes him a lot less of a dick and I kind of want to talk about them because tbh? I like what I’ve made and I want to discuss it since the show will either do nothing with him or will they will and it’ll suck so here we go! Also Comics are not canon here, so, yeah. No. Let me have this guy.
So first headcanon I’ll address is surrounding Blueblood’s first appearance, the Gala. Basically, he’s not good at rejecting legitimate romantic advances, since most who flirt with him want something, either favors or, well, you can imagine for yourself. He knew who she was, so it definitely wasn’t a royal favor she wanted(since Rares could go through Twilight or straight to Celestia herself by this point), and those who want the other thing aren’t subtle. So, Rarity starts flirting with him, and he panics and decides to try and avoid the blow up from direct rejection by ‘breaking the illusion’ of whatever fantasy she had that made him attractive and play up his ‘Royal Asshole Persona’. He kinda realized it was a bad decision by the end of the night, but he doesn’t really get a chance to apologize until the next Gala.
As for the ‘Royal Asshole Persona’, that’s legit a ‘persona’. He’s admittedly a bit pretentious, but he’s not actually a jerk. However, playing up the persona makes certain nobles trust him, at least more than they trust Celestia. The corrupt Nobles see him as non-threatening, and sometimes either a potential ally or a willing pawn. Which is bad for them, because if they tell him of any illegal activity, suddenly the Guard knows about it and haul them off to jail. no one ever catches on because he’s, you know, ‘just the prince riding on the Royal money to party’ and all.
But you’re probably asking ‘why did he reject Rarity without getting to know her?” well, the answer for that is because he is Aromantic. He knows he can never romantically love her, or anyone for that matter, so he’s not going to string her along. Side note: he is Pansexual, so, if he meets someone who doesn’t want a full relationship... well, you know.
So, onto some favorite headcanons, his relationships with other characters!
Parents -
Obviously his parents are OCs, but still, I have thought far too long about this minor character.
Anyway, his mother is a Pegasus named Silver Lining. Though she is one of the Royals, she’s one of the least ‘Royal’ of them, instead having a low-key job as Canterlot’s Weather Manager. She’s a very sweet pony, if somewhat naive, but can actually be a decent leader, and a great mother. Though they don’t talk as often as they like nowadays, she and Blueblood are still very involved in one another’s lives.
His father, on the other hoof, is unknown. Never a part of his life. Apparently it’s a good thing, because he’s the only pony Silver Lining will ever insult in a string of profanity(Like, seriously, imagine a guy so much of a dick that Fluttershy calls him out on it, and you’ll get this guy). Still, Blueblood’s chill about the fact that he doesn’t know his dad. No angst here. That’s not me being sarcastic, there’s literally no angst here.
Princess Celestia -
Though Celestia is an aunt, she was almost another parent-figure to him. It was a little distant, but he just assumed it was her being busy and also about 2000 years old, so there was a bit of dissonance but a lot of care. However, she has been getting closer in the last few years for reasons unknown to him.
Princess Luna -
Luna was.... interesting to him. As a Royal, Blueblood knew many of Equestria’s secrets. The existence of Changelings and the Crystal Empire, the fact that the statue in the gardens was more than a statue, and the real Origin of Hearth’s Warming. So the legend that Luna(And Nightmare) were real and returning was fact to him
That said, as a pony, she was a bit frustrating, but also entertaining. While Celestia got Luna up to date on the past thousand years of history, Blueblood helped her figure out modern culture. They bonded a bit over that. (He found the Royal Canterlot Voice to be funny, so he didn’t tell her to stop until after Nightmare Night.)
Princess Cadence -
They’re cousins, on the Royal side of the family. Blueblood and Cadence were always fairly close. However, after Cadence’s parents died, they became even closer. She’s pretty much his sister now, and would do anything for her. (Also, Sliver Lining has basically adopted her as well)
Shining Armor -
Since Shining was with Cadence, they interacted quite a bit. They’re decent friends, but they don’t have much in common. That said, Blueblood debated for quite a while about giving Shining some sort of ‘Shovel Talk’ when he started dating Cadence. On one hoof, Cadence was the cousin he was close to so he should out of principal. On the other hoof, Shining is taller, stronger, and more magically capable, so Blueblood’s not really much of a threat.
Twilight Sparkle
They interacted a bit during the time that she was Celestia’s student, but Blueblood is sweet to her, and sees her sort of as a little sister, even if they’re not that close. It was hard not to like her, as every time they talked she would just light up and ramble about something. Though he especially loved her sarcastic side. He protected her from the worst of the stuck-up nobles, just keeping them away from her so that she wouldn’t hear some of the comments they made, though that was partly out of guilt.
Sunset Shimmer
This is where that guilt part came in. Like with Twilight, Blueblood did like Sunset when she was Celestia’s student, and had thought of her as a little sister. However, he did nothing to stop her from hearing comments from certain nobles(Like, listen, I’m not going to get into it here, but basically it was comments wondering why ‘some nobody Unicorn’ managed to be the Princess’s student, and a slew of increasingly disgusting ideas and questioning of her abilities). Since these comments helped to send Sunset down her dark path, Blueblood blames himself for not stopping that.
Trixie
Blueblood and Trixie met about a year before the start of season 1, on a trip to Las Pegasus. They ran into one another and found good company, so they kept partying together. Trixie had no idea who Blueblood actually was until, like, twenty minutes before he left? Like, obviously she knew his name, but she didn’t realize ‘oh, you’re a freaking prince’. They’ve kept in touch an occasionally party again if they’re in the same city. The hilarious part is that Blueblood has no idea that Twilight and Trixie know each other, so that’ll be a shock for everyone involved.
Kind of related to the ‘relationships’ section, but his guilt over his inaction with Sunset shaped his sense of justice, and helped him figure out what to do with his life, AKA, helped him get his Cutie Mark. His talent is, in a way, Justice, making sure others are held accountable. That’s why he does his undercover shtick. Lawyers have too much of a black/white mentality for him, and he’s not the Guard type, so inside informant is a good way to help.

Rambling Reviews: EQG - Friendship Games
youtube
After gushing about Rainbow Rocks, we return to talk about the Equestria Girls series once again. As I said in the previous review, I found the second film to have a higher quality than the original. The villains were both intimidating and fun, the songs were catchy and Sunset Shimmer went from being the villain I hated to the hero I can actually begin to like. The only weak point was the HuMain 5, who did nothing but bicker and whine until the finale where they inevitably banded together to beat the bad guys in what I have labeled the best climax of the series. So, of course, another sequel was inevitable, especially after the cliffhanger with a human version of Twilight Sparkle investigating the weird events occurring at Canterlot High School. And now the time has come to look at that sequel, known as Friendship Games. Will this film be even better than the last, or will it fail to live up to the high expectations Rainbow Rocks established? Well, as Tom Hardy once said: “Let the games begin.”
We begin once more in the human world, where Sunset Shimmer is running to Canterlot High on an early morning while sporting a new outfit. Her and the HuMain 5 meet up at the front of the school, where Rainbow Dash has brought them all together for an emergency like no other...she needs a spare guitar string.
DUN-DUN-DUUUUUN
*sigh* We’re not even five minutes into this film, and already Rainbow Dash is making an effort to get on my nerves. She sent an emergency group text to everyone in the hopes that one of them had a spare guitar string so she can perform for some fans from the Battle of the Bands. If she starts singing a reprise of Awesome As I Want To Be, I’m out of here!
Mercifully, that doesn’t happen. Instead, while the others go inside to see Rainbow’s performance, Sunset sits on the front steps to write in her magical journal from the last film. And no sooner does she write out a message to Twilight Sparkle in Equestria then a girl in a hoodie arrives by bus to investigate the mirror with her PKE Meter. Yeah, it probably has some other techno-babble name, but look at it. It’s the PKE Meter from Ghostbusters. Way to take a page from Suburban Commando, guys. But, before Sunset can discover who the girl is, she jumps onto another bus, which conveniently made a stop just minutes after the original bus dropped her off. Seriously, what is the bus schedule like in this town? And, of course, while Sunset asks who the girl was, it’s revealed that the girl was the human Twilight Sparkle, more commonly referred to as “Sci-Twi” due to her prowess in science. This is proven by her immediately dismantling her PKE Meter and using the technology inside to make a new device that totally doesn’t look like a compact mirror at all. The people who whine about these films being thinly veiled commercials will never know, Hasbro! After a half ominous half energetic title sequence, we get some backstory about what the Friendship Games are and who Canterlot High will be competing against this year, Crystal Prep’s Shadowbolts (no doubt a not so subtle reference to the Shadowbolts from Season 1 Episode 2 of the TV show). The HuMain 5 groan about how Crystal Prep has always beaten them every year, but Sunset initially scoffs at how silly the rivalry is. And just like that, Sunny has earned some brownie points from me.
Well, at least Rainbow Dash isn’t singing about how awesome she is and how she’s gonna win the Friendship Games. She instead sings about how everyone is awesome and how they’re going to win the Friendship Games. Honestly, though, this song is pretty good in spite of it’s “yay school pride” vibe. It’s a peppy, energetic song that gets everyone in the room amped up in spite of their initial melancholy. They even make a reference to Sunset’s she-demon form. Nice of them to remind Sunset about the lowest point in her life again.
But things take a strange turn as Rainbow Dash’s powers start to appear in spite of her not playing her guitar (notice how I avoid using the phrase “pony-up”). After feeding Rainbows ego for a split second, Sunset gives probably the most fitting line to describe Equestria Girls as a whole:
“It just seems so random.”
Chalk up another brownie point for Ms. Shimmer.
Anyways, in order to keep up appearance, Vice-Principal Luna assigns Sunset Shimmer with the task of keeping the HuMain 5’s magic under control, but that is easier said than done. Sunny already feels the stress of not knowing how the magic works due to it’s sudden evolution, and writes a worried message to the Equestrian Twilight hoping for a reply soon.
Meanwhile, at the sparkliest of Preparatory Schools, Sci-Twi sings an obligatory Disney Princess song while on her way to the principal’s office. This is probably one of the few songs I’m not overly interested in, but it does help reinforce that this Twilight is socially awkward and intelligent. So intelligent, in fact, that she feels that sticking around at Crystal Prep would only be a hinderance, which is why she has sent the principal an application for an independant study program. Speaking of the principal, Ms. Cinch here asks Sci-Twi to participate in the Friendship Games in order to basically show off her most gifted student like a prized pony...and yes, I realized that I just made a terrible joke. When Sci-Twi shows reluctance, Cinch basically extorts her by saying if Sci-Twi fails to participate and win the games, he application to the independant study program will be denied. Sci-Twi begrudgingly agrees which gives way to the movie introducing the most obnoxious if not underdeveloped characters I’ve seen in these films; The Shadowbolts. There’s Sour Sweet, who is essentially Two-Face, Indigo Zap, a loud, over competitive girl, Sunny Flare who...does nothing, Sugar Coat who is so blunt you could use her as a bludgeoning weapon, and Lemon Zest, who gets a brownie point for her taste in music.
As the Showdowbolts get off their bus at Canterlot High, Sci-Twi picks up a signal from inside and sets off to find the source...kinda like Yami Bakura and his Millennium Ring. Inevitably, every student inside mistakes her for the Equestrian Twilight, even Flash Sentry, who I swear has become the lost puppy looking for his master ever since Rainbow Rocks. Look how dejected the guy is whenever Sci-Twi brushes him aside, he looks so crushed. Even Derpy Hooves...oh, sorry, Ditzy Do...what?! That’s wrong too? Well, what am I supposed to call her?
...I hate PC Parents.
Anyways, after Derpy makes an obligatory cameo to cheer Flash up, Sci-Twi converges on the location of the magic, which is just Rarity gushing about all the pointless clothes she made for the Games. No sooner does she say making clothes makes her feel alive then her magic springs up only for Sci-Twi’s device to steal it. Not realizing what Sci-Twi has done or that she is not the Equestrian Princess, the HuMain 5, Sunset and even Principal Celestia greet her like everyone else has only for Cinch to drag her away minutes later. And then the first film rears it’s ugly head for a brief moment like a phantom as Pinkie becomes a Deus Ex Machina device in order to explain what the audience already knows about Sci-Twi, to which Principal Celestia gives the best response.
“...Nevermind.”
While the HuMain 5 wonder about Sci-Twi, Sunset tries to use the mirror to Equestria, only for Sci-Twi’s Millennium Compact Mirror to steal her magic through the portal. Before Sunset can confront her, Sci-Twi leaves with her classmates, leaving Sunset to investigate the mirror. To her sheer horror, she realizes that the portal (which is now supposed to be open all the time) is dead. Nothing can get in, nothing can get out. Including Princess Twilight.
So, realizing she has to take matters into her own hands, Sunset goes to confront Twilight who is still using her device to locate more magic. Before she can get any information, however, the Shadowbolts intervene, but Pinkie manages to snag Sci-Twi and have her help in livening up the dull party in the gymnasium. As Pinkie’s tactics work, she starts to show her powers like the others, and the device goes nuts again, not devouring the magic but also ripping open the very fabric of the universe until Sci-Twi snaps it shut. What was that quote from Sunset again? “It just seems so random.”
Ahh, I’m going to get so much use out of that line now.
Principal Cinch immediately kills the party and pretty much reiterates that she will be the lukewarm bad guy for the movie, basically saying that “Canterlot sucks and Crystal Prep rules. Nany-nany-boo-boo, stick your head in doo doo.” Ok, she didn’t say that specifically, but she might as well have.
What follows is a montage of events with the song AcaDeca paying over. It’s actually a fun segment with both of the teams talking smack to one another as the events unfold. We even get cute moments like Flash Sentry and Bon Bon somehow failing to make a cake and instead making...Sprinkled Bread? Speaking of cake, check out the Mona Lisa cake that was of course made by Pinkie. Don’t ask how she did it, it’s Pinkie Pie. Logic does not comply. So, the two teams compete in the Academic Decathlon segment of the Friendship Games until Sunset and Sci-Twi are the last two standing, each representing their schools. Of course. And while Sunset fails to score the point, the HuMain 5 and their classmates congratulate her for getting so far because friendship.
After she wins the AcaDeca, Sci-Twi meets Fluttershy, who shows off all of her animal friends while Twilight gives her dog Spike some air. Oh, I forgot to mention him, didn’t I? Yeah, up until this point, Spike’s presence in the film has been pretty lukewarm. Why do I say “up until this point”? Because after Sci-Twi, once again, steals more magic and rips more holes in the universe, Spike somehow gains the ability to talk.
“It just seems so random.”
In either case, after more extorting from Cinch, the HuMain 5 discover what the friendship games has in store next: a tricross rally, with archery, roller skating and motocross. Yes, motocross. In high school. Before anyone starts freaking out, I actually did the research; this is an actual thing, especially back in the 70’s-80’s. It’s not exactly common due to how expensive it is, but it is a thing nonetheless. A very overkill sort of thing. And guess who shares my opinion?
Ahh, Sunset. One more brownie point for the bacon hair.
So, the rally begins with the always bipolar Sour Sweet berating Sci-Twi for being an unathletic wuss. Gee, it’s almost like she wasn’t supposed to be in this competition. One could say that she is being forced to participate. Regardless, Applejack helps her out, but reveals her pony powers in the process. You know the drill by now, the machine goes haywire, sucks in the magic and more portals open up, only this time something comes out. Straight out of a hentai, a giant plant monster starts to attack the girls during the motocross segment, forcing Rainbow to show off her powers again and help whoever the monster captures. This catches Cinch’s attention, and she covertly watches what unfolds next.
After Rainbow Dash deals with the monster while Sunset wins the motocross segment, thus tying the score with Crystal Prep. Sunset doesn’t give a care about the score though, as she snaps Sci-Twi’s Millennium Compact Mirror shut and basically snaps at her. All throughout this film, Sunset has been trying to contain and understand this magic, and then Sci-Twi tampers with things she doesn’t understand to the point where people almost got hurt or worse. This is the straw on the camel’s back for Sunset, and she lashes out against Sci-Twi, almost to the point where you feel like the original Sunset starts to leak out. So, after Sunset gives her a tongue lashing, Sci-Twi leaves and the wheels in Cinch’s head start to turn.
And then, Principal Celestia talks to Cinch and has probably the best idea in this entire film; cancel the games and call it a tie between the schools. Cinch, being a sensible adult responsible for the well being of the children attending her school, accepts the terms of this deal, and they all lived happily ever...oh, who am I kidding, of course Cinch refuses to take such a deal, as it would “tarnish her reputation”.
Thus, the students meet up for the final event, but Cinch pulls Sci-Twi aside to propose a crazy idea: Unleash The Magic. Yes, through a song, Cinch and the Shadowbolts tell Sci-Twi to fight fire with fire and use the magic that she has collected against the Wondercolts. Sci-Twi, having been abused by Cinch, her classmates and Sunset, gives into peer pressure and opens her device.
What follows is that climax I teased in the last review.
Twilight goes through what looks like a terrifying transformation, reaching out to whoever can listen to her pleas for help before being enveloped and corrupted by the raw magic. Much like Sunset She-Demon, Twilight becomes drunk on power and becomes...Midnight Sparkle.
*crickets chirp* Don’t look at me, I didn’t name her.
Midnight then proceeds to rip holes in the fabric of reality while cackling like a madwoman while Sunset, the HuMain 5 and even the Shadowbolts try to save the students who fall through the cracks. Sunset tries to snap Midnight out of her madness, but it’s no good. So, Sunset grabs the discarded compact mirror in order to absorb more magic from her friends in order to become… Seraph Shimmer. *more crickets chirp* Ok, that time I did name her. After Seraphim seals the cracks, the two demigods proceed to have a Dragonball style showdown, which Seraph inevitably wins when Spike momentarily distracts Midnight with those big puppy dog eyes. But, victory isn’t immediate, as Seraph doesn’t straight up blast Midnight. Rather, for a brief moment, she and Midnight are sealed into a white void where Seraph tries once more to convince Midnight that there is a different way to learn about magic, a way that is far less lonely than the path she travels now. Sci-Twi takes Sunset’s hand, and the two revert to their human forms, the crisis now averted.
Cinch, who hid after causing this in the first place, demands that Canterlot High must forfeit the Friendship Games for their use of magic or she will contact the school board. Everyone, even her own students and staff, call her out on her lies and blatant disregard for student safety, but invite her to tell the school board all about the magical flying girls, the portals to different dimensions and the talking dog. Cinch, having finally been backed into a corner, silently walks away and has never been seen since.
So, it’s time for the obligatory wrap-up, with both teams winning the Friendship Games...somehow, and Sci-Twi wanting to transfer to Canterlot High rather than go through with her independent study application. Sunset and the HuMain 5 wholeheartedly accept Sci-Twi as a new friend...just when the mirror portal decides to work again. Yup, the Equestrian Twilight finally makes an appearance at the last thirty seconds of the film right before the credits to basically give a reason as to why the portal died besides Sci-Twi stealing magic, and it’s a funny if not cute thirty seconds.
And with that, Friendship Games comes to a close with a cute slideshow. So,how was this film? Well, obviously it’s quite a good film, and in some ways I suppose it is better than Rainbow Rocks, but I feel like Friendship Games cannot surpass it’s predecessor. Now, like I said, it is a good film. The songs are all catchy, some of the characters are written a lot better than before, the climax was certainly just as epic if not more so than before and the film was very entertaining overall. There’s even this self-aware air about Friendship Games, as if the writers knew what the adult fanbase was upset about and decided to throw them a bone for their troubles. But, there are just certain aspects of the film that keep me from liking it more than I actually do.
For starters, let’s talk about the magic. I’m sure you folks are wondering how the magic works in this world, and even if you’re not I’m gonna tell you. According to Sunset Shimmer, at the end of the film, the magic now works only when the HuMain 5 show their Elemental nature (i.e. Applejack being honest, Pinkie Pie spreading cheer, etc.). To quote Sunset, “it seems so random” after we clearly established in Rainbow Rocks that the magic works with instruments. Then again, in the original film the girls didn’t do anything and yet they were able to do that deus ex machina attack. This may sound like a nitpick, and I will admit it kinda is, but I’m just asking for some consistency in these films.
Also, let’s talk about the Shadowbolts. These ladies were probably the least threatening “villains” since Sunset, forcing Cinch to carry to weight and being the driving force of evil and even that doesn’t work all the time. I don’t know, maybe I just prefer it when the villains are Equestrian creatures masquerading as humans who know more about magic than Sunset and the Equestrian Twilight, but sometimes changes are necessary in order to keep things interesting, otherwise these films would be a tad formulaic in its structure.
Although, maybe it was a tad late for the structure in the first place, as the plot line of Twilight stealing the magic became a tad repetitive. She tracks magic down, encounters a member of the HuMain 5, they show an attribute of themselves that reveals their magic, Sci-Twi steals it and causes weird things to happen, rinse and repeat.
Look, I’m not saying Friendship Games is bad. I’m honestly grasping at straws trying to find things to genuinely complain about rather than just sounding very nitpicky. If anything, I appreciate that this film took the risk of introducing an all human cast, minus Sunset Shimmer  and Spike, of course, and have the villains be humans rather than an obligatory Equestrian villain. Also, cutting Sunset off from the portal was honestly a nice touch, allowing Sunset to prove that she could handle this situation without Princess Twilight using the power of Deus Ex Machina to save the day from her human counterpart. But for some reason, I cannot like this film more than Rainbow Rocks. Maybe it’s because of the lack of character the Shadowbolts are given, maybe it’s the inconsistencies in the overall plot across the films, maybe it’s the repetitive structure of the story, I don’t know.
What I do know is this; Friendship Games is another great entry in the Equestria Girls series, and I would watch it again if I wanted to, in spite of my love-hate relationship with the film. It may not be as personally gratifying as Rainbow Rocks, but it is certainly is an improvement over the first film. I know that is not saying much, but it’s the best I can say for this film. In any case, that’s three films down, one more to go.
In the meantime, never stop rambling, TM

The Curse 07
Discord drifted aimlessly, floating around, following the winds of Chaos wherever they may lead him. Something big was about to happen he just knew it. He hadn't felt such a powerful chaos storm brewing since those two mares had defied him.
It had been a long time since he hadn't left Equestria and he genuinely enjoyed the change. There were so many things to toy with! Those blue flowers, for example, had such untapped potential for chaos! He simply had to bring some to Equestria... after a bit of alteration of course.
He wondered what kind of exciting new things he would discover and/or create in this new land. Maybe a new race with feet for heads? Or jackalopes with ridiculously long legs?
Oh! Good one! I should totally note this one down for later use.
"Discord!"
Or maybe open portals to other dimensions all over the country... Nah... Too boring.
"Discord!"
As Mama Discord said, never let otherworldly eldritch horrors do your work. If you want it done well, do it yourself.
"DISCORD!"
The draconequus stopped in mid-air, his annoyance clearly displayed on his face. Airhead didn't let it intimidate her.
"Urgh, what is it?"
"I-"
"Let me guess," he interrupted, closing on the unicorn, "I have wronged you in some way and you seek revenge?"
"Ye-"
His expression switched to interest all of a sudden. "Wait..." he interrupted again, putting his toe on Airhead lips. "You're different... No, no, don't tell me, I want to guess...Let's see... Hum, you're not from here..." He closed on the mare, sniffing the air around her. "Smell like magic... From another dimension maybe?" He shook his head, a talon placed under his chin in a thinking pose. "Still not it... But I'm getting warmer."
Without warnings, he produced tweezers with which he took a hair from Airhead's fur, which elicited an indignant yelp of pain from her. A snap of talon later, there was five more Discords in white blouses workings on different machines while the first one analysed the hair with a microscope conjured from thin air.
"Hum... yes... yes... I know! Time travel! I got right didn't I?" "Huh... yes..." Airhead admitted. "Haha!" he exclaimed, snapping the copies away. "I knew it! So what's the deal? I should come with you if I want to live? Find an almanac?" "What?" "You're right. No spoiler! I want the surprise!" "Enough!" Airhead finally snapped. "I'm here to stop you!" "Stop me?" Discord guffawed loudly, his body falling backwards and floating a few centimetres from the ground. He stopped after a time and looked at Airhead. "Wait you're serious... Let me laugh some more!" He said before doing exactly that. "What make you think," he let out between two bursts of laughter, "that you can stop me." "I'm not afraid of you!" "Oh, but you should..." he answered darkly.
He rose to his whole size looking down on the unicorn. Despite her protection and preparation, Airhead felt the full weight of the chimaera's power. Her horn and the runes on the bones lit up with magic.
It’s too late to turn back now.
Pony and Draconequus faced each other for a long time, waiting for the other to move.
They moved at the same time. Discord tried to click his fingers but Airhead's magic was faster.
The spirit's toes didn't meet with their usual snap nor their reality altering impact. Discord sent a intrigued look at his paw, only to see them encased in marshmallows.
"You clever girl..."
The bones lit up again. The blue flowers grew wildly around the Draconequus, ensnaring him in their grip. The spirit's body cartoonishly inflated like a balloon and popped up under the pressure, unleashing a hoard of tiny Discords running and sliding on the plants. They quickly grouped up and fused to reform their original body.
"You little..." Discord started while putting a marshmallow in his mouth. "Hmmm... Schtrawberry..."
Another magic ray went in Discord's way. He avoided it by twisting his serpentine body. More rays went his way. Discord avoided them all, amused at the tentative.
"You'll have to do better than this," he jested as he convoked a bullfighter attire.
"If you insist," Airhead answered through gritted teeth. The wind started to build up around the draconequus. Discord watched as dark cloud gathered above and around him.
"Ohoh..." he said as hail and snow fell heavily around him. He tried vainly to fight it off with an umbrella but the elements proved stronger than the device.
"Ohoh..." he repeated as ice started to grow on his body.
The wind slowly receded the clouds dissipated, revealing Discord, now encased in a block of ice with only his tail and head sticking out.
"Bravo, little one" Discord mocked. "That was really impressive. I would clap but I am a bit taken at the moment. I hope you don’t mind if I give you the cold shoulder. "
"You will leave my tribe in peace..." Airhead said, breathing heavily. "Your tribe?" he chuckled, seemingly unbothered by his situation. "So this is what it's been about?"
"You know it is!"
"No really. I had not even noticed its existence."
"Lies!" "A bold claim, and certainly full of wisdom considering who I am. However, if I may present a counterargument: Why would I lie?" As if to prove his point, Discord slid free of his icy prison, as effortlessly as one would leave their clothes. Airhead's horn lit up again, but this time, the Draconequus scoffed at the attack. The magic passed harmlessly through his body. Discord snapped in retaliation and Airhead's horn grew wings and flew off her head while her bone-suit left her body and started to dance in circles around her.
"Am I convincing now?"
Despair and confusion were growing inside Airhead, muddling her thoughts and eroding her assurance. Has she been wrong all this time? "I saw it! With my own eyes!" "Really? Well let's watch," he said, producing a bucket of popcorn. "Watch, my incredulous unicorn."
In her early youth, Airhead had all it took to become an extraordinarily talented bonemaker. Her knowledge of the magic of the Bone Equines ran deeper than most. She could feel it, flowing between the members of the tribe, flowing inside her, through her very bones and thanks to her education and years of observing her parents work, her knowledge had only grown deeper.
She had all it took, save for one quality that youth often lacks. Patience.
On that fateful day, Airhead stole a bone, a blank unicorn horn, free of any magic and tried to put a spell in it. It was a very special spell, born from youthful idealism and impatience, one that would link the whole tribe as one and make everyone's magic instantly accessible to everyone. It would have been the pinnacle of Bone Magic. One shared bond for everyone, and all would benefit from the full potential of their magic. It would have changed the life of the Bone Equines forever.
However, it failed.
Airhead was not a unicorn, she had never formal training in magic, she had never used this kind of magic, she simply wasn't ready... The spell grew in power faster than she could keep up with and soon she lost consciousness as it became out of control.
It acted as a hungry predator, seeking and sucking all the magic it could find. It spread like a disease upon the unsuspecting tribe. Unicorns, earth ponies, pegasi, buffaloes and deer were emptied of their very essence in a matter of seconds. One after the others they fell, victims of a spell that was meant to help them.
And so fell the tribe of the Bone Equines.
"And I had nothing to do," the draconequus chuckled as a tearful unicorn watched her tribe die.
The end of a tribe... featuring nobody for once. Airhead is alone to face her mistakes.

How did the Main Six get their cutie mark? This is the episode where we find out.
Tumblr media
We begin with the Crusaders doing what they did best: throw things at the wall and see what sticks. When Zip lining failed (suggested to Scootaloo by Spike, which in theory could confirm Twilight’s mother’s obsession with extreme sports. Or be a early showing of Celestia’s enjoyment of them.) they figured they should ask the adults for how they got her cutie mark. Scootaloo thinks Dash should be the first to know, but we’re getting AJ instead.
Tumblr media
AJ didn’t want to be a Farm Girl all her life. She wanted to see how she faired in Manehattan. She stood with her Aunt and Uncle Orange who do seem to have the high class life. While she did try her best (said knowledge used later on in the series), she just missed home too much. When she saw a Rainbow that seems to be heading back home, AJ decides to return home. With her love for her family established, she got her cutie mark.
Tumblr media
Next up is Fluttershy who, believe it or not, was shy and a weak flyer. When refereeing a race with Rainbow Dash and the Bullies, she fell down to Earth but was saved by Butterflies. She felt so connected to them that when they ran off scared because of an explosion of Rainbows, she convinced them that there was nothing to be scared of. Seeing how she can speak to the animals, she earned her cutie mark.
youtube
Next is Rarity. She wanted to be a fashionista but felt her designs needed more. Magical horn leads her to a rock where a Rainbow Blast shows it has gems. She bedazzles her costumes and earns her cutie mark. I’m shortening this because I wanted to talk about that this specific scene reminded me of the Castlevania cover known as Rarity’s Tears. This was originally created by a guy known as SuperPsyguy. He was found out doing things that rivals another famous brony who was caught doing something they shouldn’t and as far as I know has not been seen since. Its really sad because I really enjoy the song especially Living Tombstone’s take on it. It just sucks because its connected to someone who did something terrible.
Tumblr media
And now to Twilight who has UNLIMITED! POWER!!! But not the confidence to unleash it during a test. But when that Rainbow Blast happened, Twilight couldn’t be stopped. But Celestia came in, calmed her down, and not only accepted Twilight into her School for Gifted Unicorns but also made her her protege. And thus begins Twilight’s obsession with trying to please Celestia that’ll continue to exist until near the very end. Also she got her cutie mark because she’s boss in magic.
Tumblr media
Second to last is Pinkie Pie. She grew up on the Rock Farm and was sad. When she saw the Rainbow pass her by, she got inspired to be a Super Party Pony. Getting her entire family (minus Maud) to be just as happy as her (even if its for a brief time) gave her the cutie mark that will lead her to inspire another: Cheese Sandwich. And that’s how Equestria was made. Which if you think about considering changing this event ruins the future, it really was about the creation of the Equestria WE know and love.
Tumblr media
And finally, Rainbow Dash earned her cutie mark by doing a Sonic Rainboom, something that was only in legend. But this Sonic Rainboom in turn inspired others. It lead AJ home, helped Rarity find gems, revealed Fluttershy’s talent, pushed Twilight and inspired Pinkie Pie. It ends with everyone but Scootaloo happy and ends with the following lesson.
Everypony everywhere has a special magical connection with her friends, maybe even before she's met them. If you're feeling lonely and you're still searching for your true friends, just look up in the sky. Who knows? Maybe you and your future best friends are all looking at the same rainbow.
Overall, its a nice episode. Always great to hear the backstory. And some of these help explain future events. As for changes in GLAB canon, just take away Apple Bloom and Twilight and its the same thing.
