Personally I like to think that if it hadn't been a Blight then for his next trick Loghain would have kickstarted the Andrastian Protestant Reformation. What with, you know, the Chantry being Orlesian and all, it would only make sense to divest the kingdom of yet one more way Orlais sought to subjugate the Fereldan spirit and whatnot. The Inquisition would have been formed instead because Ferelden split off from the Orlesian Chantry and reformed into its own Fereldan Chantry headed by its own Divine and not only abolished its own Circle but became a haven to escaped apostates and hedgemages seeking freedom from other Circles because it's just one more way to flip off Orlais across the border. Just pure fucking anarchy lmao.

Was there ever a plan to have the series open in away that could allow for Overture?

Like Dream floating through space weakened before the spell can bind him. I feel like a battle ready Dream shouldn’t be able to be bound by hedgemagic.

Overture happened. We see Morpheus setting out to confront the Corinthian fully dressed and with his helm in pristine condition. When he is captured he is naked beneath his robe and his helm is battered and flaking. We just didn't get to see it. If we get that far, And we reach Overture we'll see the story. In the Sandman saga you don't see him returning naked and exhausted until Brief Lives.

possible addition to one of the alternate jaune's?

@heliosthegriffin so i've been looking at the builds and found out that warrior poet can stack with another archetype called ward speaker. this person can preform a ritual to get the attention of spirits to assist them in various ways. now for someone like superhero jaune it doesn't make sense to add this, but i'd like you to consider golden blade jaune preforming rituals to neo in order to get her blessing. it would swap out his first vigilante talent for a magical girl esk transformation scene, but more importantly it shifts jaune from some guy who's doing this all on his own to a emmesary of the fae in that universe. explaining why this version of jaune starts out with a magic sword that can be upgraded by rituals. escentually jaune is paying neo to make his weapons and gear stronger. she also gives him this blessing Zuishin (Sp): As an immediate action, the ward speaker can dismiss this fortune to cast cure light wounds as a spell-like ability. At 9th level, the ward speaker can dismiss this fortune to cast cure serious wounds, lesser restoration, remove curse, or remove disease; at 17th level, he also adds breath of life and heal to this list. The ward speaker’s caster level for these spell-like abilities is equal to his samurai level.

i would also give this jaune the hedgemage trait. after dealing with neo for so long he's learned to get a good bargain out of her. combined with the mythic feature upgrade this means that jaune's paying 45% of the cost to upgrade his sword, though he's still paying 95% for everything else. still in this au the golden blade stumbled upon neo's shrine and when she heard this kid wanted to be a hero? why not just give him a magic sword? she's sure he'll figure it out on his own. imagine her surprise when she starts getting more powerful because jaune's out there fighting crime and making a name for her as her champion! and he grew up to be pretty nice to look at. this does mean that jaune has a very grateful and mischievous fae trying to get him a harem in his civilian persona though, there are costs to everything after all. lmao. this could tie into the omake of neo trying to get people to visit her shrine by saying she's the highest rated local deity in vale with over 3000 reviews on yelp edit: neo's main blessing is just pure luck most of the time, when jaune's in a bad spot she puts her thumb on the scales of fate and lets him roll twice and take the better result, but if he chooses he can use the blessing to heal others instead

VESPER — sitting in solas' study talking about some semi-obscure magical theory and being delighted by the way solas approached it from his (assumed) hedgemage perspective and how that reframing added something she'd missed in her circle education. dorian, overhearing them, had leaned over the banister from the library above and was so insistent on getting in on the discussion that he was halfway through a lecture before solas asked if perhaps he'd care to join them for tea and scones, or if he was too loathe to abandon his pulpit. they'd been at it so late that leliana had dinner sent over, and vesper had just been satisfied and thrilled and grateful, which were novel and delightful things to feel in the middle of the war and the chaos. psyche: what’s their head space like? do they have any mental illnesses? how do they process difficult or emotional situations? what are their coping mechanisms?

MINAH — it... could be worse? like it's not great up there but she's perfectly functional. she just ignores some stuff (or obsesses over it too much, or swings wildly between the two). processing emotions is not really part of her skill set, so most of her coping mechanisms are rooted in avoidance, distraction, and deflection all piled together into a wobbly card tower of maladaptive techniques. but honestly, she's fine. VESPER — her headspace is mostly just bleak. kind of a constant churn of what-if and not-again. she's definitely got a bit of an undiagnosed anxiety thing going on, but she copes with it pretty well all things considered. her emotional processing works overtime to keep up with how much thinking she does all the damn time, and her coping mechanisms tend to be Working Even More. one of the upsides of the inquisition is that she finally gets a proper support network. CAES — pristine. you've never met anyone better at compartmentalizing. he's a horrible little man who doesn't know how to let go of a grudge but he will have it sorted by date, location, responsible parties, and weather at the time. I'm not sure he "processes" his emotions but he sure does Do Something About Them (exact revenge, be petty, plot people's downfalls, etc.)

shooting star: if your OC(s) could have one wish what would it be?

MINAH — she doesn't know. she's so torn about what she wants most that it would be almost impossible for her to choose just one thing to wish for. maybe to go back and do it all over again. maybe just to have all the facts, so at least she'd know what went wrong. VESPER — part of her would feel obligated to wish for things for other people—a stop to the fighting, peace in southern thedas, that sort of thing. I think probably in actually she'd wish for happiness, or the chance to talk to solas again—to try to change his mind, or just to understand why he's so determined to continue down this path. CAES — power, probably. the sort of power you can dangle over people's heads; the sort of power that works quiet and in secret and bends the world to your will. it's why he wanted so badly to join the magisterium—it may be cutthroat and bloody and twisted, but it's also the center of everything and a great place to be to get shit done.

im truely at a loss with what should i do with my fic that got in a dead end

For those who want to make educated decision:

The character: elven hedgemage who got possesed by a demon (but isnt anymore!) and kinda disobeyed orderers to save brothers in arms

The plot: Hedgemage's struggle that leads to demon possession. He's then judged by the Inquisitor (yes it's da:i what did you expect) who realises during the process how she's let down the Inquisition and opportunity to grow

Character dies outcome: soooooo much angst and drama 💞💕✨ At least 2 heartbroken characters, one sad puppy (fennec), and the incompetent inquisitor has to deal how much the inquisition has been glued together with just snot (pardon my estonian)

Plotline dies: shit fuck idk i have to back-pedal do much idk what's even going to be left

Deux ex machina: idk i have other non-inquisition related characters but they are busy with their impossible quest to get the pelt of some monstrous wolf god (wonder womder who that is)

What you get out of it: another horribly localised fic in estonian

Back to WoW and I am kinda wew about the insanity I see from tanks pulling half an army. Which is a shame because tanks feel really cool to play now but WoW's mob packs are a little more chaotic than 14s so planning a pull is a bit weirder. Other than that, someone offered to RP With my hedgemage so that's cool. Walkups elude me because I've become too comfortable with planned RP in recent years but I'm enjoying my time so far.
