This was easily one of the best Lupin episodes

#there will be a rant in the tags that you can ignore #but it is so upsetting how modern/current lupin took away the depths of these characters and flimsily tries to restore their earlier depth #i'm one of those people who craves depth in what i watch and it's so difficult to like this franchise because it will be so close to doing #something interesting only to abandon it #this episode and part one as a whole was peak lupin in my opinion with each character having emotional depth yet flaws to overcome #yet modern lupin would have you believe that these characters don't desire to improve in any capacity #if we were to just focus on Goemon for example right here he shows depth with revealing hidden emotional maturity and empathy for Lupin by #comforting him and admitting he himself is afraid (which is a big deal for a character like him who is supposed to be unflinching) #but in modern lupin goemon will literally say that he's not afraid of anything and this is written without any hint of irony or depth #i'm okay with mindless entertainment and i understand that this is a series simply about stealing but the character assassination is so #disappointing #and when this series does try to be “deep” they pick the most triggering subject matter possible to depict to the point where it's #practically unwatchable (this is in reference to Part 4 and its constant SA plots as well as the rampant gratuitous child abuse plots #throughout the entire series) #i want so badly to love lupin the 3rd but it's a huge problem when fanfiction understands the characters better than the source material #lupin iii #lupin the third #lupin the 3rd #goemon ishikawa xiii #goemon #arsene lupin iii #jigen daisuke #daisuke jigen #fujiko mine #part 1

There are a couple tropes I really love in the space of Miraculous Ladybug fan works, but quite possibly my favorite is when the miraculous holders just get creature from using their powers.

Like yeah, I would say that hosting the power of an abstract concept given sentience, that got shoved into the shape of an animal and bound to a piece of jewelry, would kinda mess with your body a bit.

The little bit of this we get in canon is basically that Adrien loves being a cat and the whole Tikki munches incident.

But I love it when people give them ears and wings and tails, give them eyes that aren't quite human anymore. Fuck with their gender and their sense of body. Sometimes it's body horror, sometimes it's just aesthetic. Love it either way.

I just think it's so fun, a lot of the time it's combined with the like "when a holder and the kawami really respect and bond with each other there's nothing that can be done except having magic bleed into the holder" I think that's fun, but also just making the animal of the kwami a bigger deal is fun. Like if you're going to make it a ladybug you might as well give her wings and antenna and mirrored eyes.

has anyone talked about the whole yin/yang thing imogen and laudna have going on? imogen's physically bright and light (hair and clothes) where laudna is dark and scary. but personality wise laudna is more light and friendly to (nearly) everyone she meets, generally positive minded / looking for a bright side of things. meanwhile imogen is wary and cautious, a bit intimidating, and definitely prone to being quiet when meeting new people (assessing the situation / figuring out if the person could be trusted or not).

they don't just tether each other, they balance each other.

obviously it kept them alive when they were on their own, but I wonder if they fell into place like two puzzle pieces when they met. just like 'oh, you're meant to help me through all this'

so, like, when they were separated, they weren't out of sorts just because their tether, nor their love, was gone and they didn't know if the other was alive. they'd lost their balance, their sense of true north was suddenly gone...and it was so much worse than what it was like before they'd ever met.

#and then theres something about imogen's desperation at trying to get into contact with laudna during that separation #how she kept trying. forced herself to continue to have hope that laidna was alive. that theyd find each other again #how lucky it was that imogen was surrounded by the silly party members who were chaotic and distracting #because we know imogen pre laudna was in a very dark place mentally. laura hasnt shied away from hinting at that. #(laura really is going hard on the queer kid from a small town metaphor and its oof but fantastic) #and Laudna... is immediately confronted by a town taken over by Righteous People who Dont Care about the town they've disrupted/desecrated #the briarwoods parallel is obvious. and yet she still goes along with trying to be nice #but of course laudna's part of the separation required killing. falling back on her survival instincts. #she'd lost the one person who could balance her out. she'd be damned if she'd allow any harm come to her new family too. #goddess this is a ramble #but i wish we could see the session zero for this campaign ESPECIALLY for marisha and laura coming up with these two #I'll forever have a brainrot about if the yin and yang was on purpose #anyway still stuck here in this endless cycle of thinking about campaign three i guess lol #cr duck thoughts

Honestly I think they'd just chill. Talk. Maybe cook dinner together and then cuddle on the couch, reading and enjoying the presence of each other. I'm a sucker for simple domestic stuff. But at this point after all they've been through, any night where they're in a safe place with a roof over their head and no impending mortal danger counts as relaxing for them.

Forehead kisses!! I love forehead kisses. There is just something so Soft about forehead kisses. Icarus is a very affectionate person so I think he'd just casually pepper Crys with kisses all the time, all over. Crys is a bit more hesitant but sometimes he will silently come up and hug Icarus, then press a kiss to his cheek or neck. Over time he does it more frequently.

Vague tears of the kingdom spoilers, having to do with a main questline.

I have chatted with friends who are also playing it and apparently they found the boss fight in the rito questline really really difficult and some of them ran out of arrows.

And uh. I did not realize that other people would have a hard time with that fight, because it is actually super super easy if you do it a certain way. Which I thought was a very obvious way! I didn't even think to do it any other way!

Genuinely curious how many people didn't realize there was an easier way to win and just used a bow, vs how many people actually used the same trick I did (which I am not going to describe cuz i want to avoid giving away too many spoilers)

If I could re-write any of Takumi's supports like completely it would be his convos with Felicia. Like I will say all the time I think Takumi is a very well written character esppp for Fates (not ragging on Fates I love Fates -- a lot of charas unfortunately feel one-note though, which could also be a localization issue), but legitimately I think his supports with Felicia are the only ones that are just. Bad.

I think, part of the appeal for Takumi for me, is whenever he Is a jackass, he 1) Faces immediate consequences for it, 2), Often is the case he didn't mean for it to come out that way and/or his temper/insecurities got the better of him, and 3), He always makes up for it somehow. He's always very aware of where he went wrong, sometimes immediately, and will have to take a little time to himself to sort out his feelings and properly apologize for what he said/did.

A Lot of his supports follow this beat for beat, with some exceptions here and there (or maybe just for Sakura lmfao). So like. I Can see him being an asshole to Felicia. That isn't out of character for him.

But what I DO feel very strongly is out of character actually is that! I'm not sure if it's just cause Felicia doesn't really fight back or call him out on it, but he feels way too mean spirited. ESPECIALLY when it comes to Felicia telling him about the Ice Tribe and where she came from. Like. Idk maybe I interpreted it wrong but his entire support chain w Leo is bonding over cultural exchange (after they. Stop fighting for a minute LMFAO). AND I feel like it's shown in Mozu's and Oboro's supports, that even if he's not particularly interested in the subject matter the other is focused on, he will still engage with it in good faith (even if it's to prove a point when it comes to Mozu, and I guess bias when it comes to Oboro).

Idk honestly the more I mull over his supports the more I'm doubting myself about it HAHAHA but like. Even their S rank convo feels dismissive and mean spirited, which is not like Takumi at all. Usually after the turn around he's genuinely enthusiastic about whatever it is he's bonding over w the other character. It just never sat right with me, never felt like Takumi really like, internalized where he went wrong/figured out how to fix it, Felicia never stood up for herself and cried the entire time (which like??? Idk I feel like, even if he's bad with other people's emotions, I feel like it would have been in character for him to be startled by it, and regretful). It just felt bad the entire time and that REALLY SUCKS bc they're literally both my Fates faves LMFAOOOOO

Raz knows a lotta' things in circus squared he just doesn't outwardly say anything about it and more hints at stuff, especially when it comes to Truman and what happened in Rhombus and so fourth.

Again hes really iffy with what people do and don't know because of the whole trust thing, and he doesn't want to just go around telling people 'hey this is actually who this is' because who knows who might cause more bad than good! So he goes about hinting at things around Frazie especially when they're in another persons mind to try and get her on the right track and realize things sooner. They still only come to find things out in Fatherland Follies but they can't say he didn't try :/

Don't know if you know this, but way back in 1.1 there was this web event with both Childe and Zhongli where you essentially hang out with them in Liyue harbor. The event dialogue is up on the wiki if you wanna check it out. I just think it's neat

I'd heard of it but never took the time to read the story, I see I'd been missing out. That was such a wholesome little event, it had so much heart! I hope something else like it comes back eventually, I really like this sort of stuff.
