Tumblr media
pretty girl is just so obsessed with you and would literally do anything you ask her cuz you’re her pretty lil girlfriend <33
ning just can’t get enough of you! she’s inbetween your legs, lapping up your cunt. she lets you tug on her hair, trying to bring her impossibly closer to your glistening cunt and practically suffocating her with your plush thighs. but she doesn’t really mind because she loves slurping and eating out your cunt, her eyes are rolled back and she’s mindlessly grinding her clothed cock into the bed, making a mess of herself in her boxers.
she makes a mess on her face with your juices, but she loves it, she maneuvers between tongue fucking you and making out with your cunt, moaning into your cunt because you taste so yummy <33 that just seems to push you to your third orgasm because your moaning so loudly, back arched and holding her head in place until you’re squirting all over her face for the first time that night! her eyes are crossed and she’s cumming into her boxers with a muffled groan from just eating your cunt out alone <33
even after she cleans you up with her tongue, she’s not done tormenting you, because she’s wrapping her arms around your waist and going back to making out with your cunt, her nose bumps into your clit and it has you whining with tears threatening to fall out from the overstimulation! “ning— s’too much!” fall out your mouth desperately trying to push her away from your twitching cunt.
your pleas do nun but make her cock twitch in her boxers, she thinks your moans and whines are the cutest when you beg for her to stop!! but the lack of oxygen forces her to pull away, chest heaving while she’s catching her breath.
“one more princess, know you can do it for me.” she mumbles as she stands up and pulls her cum covered cock outta her sticky boxers.
you’re so overstimulated but you nod your head anyways, mumbling ‘i can take it’ before she’s sliding her cock into your puffy cunt with ease. eyes crossing once more with a moan drowned out by your high pitch whine, feeling her cock engulf in your cunt had her cumming almost instantly.
she’s pounding into you it has you sobbing from how good it feels, desperately scrambling to find anything to hold until she’s grabbing your hand and letting you squeeze it tight as she whispers ‘so pretty f’me, baby.’
definitely uses her other hand to press down on the tummy bulge formed by her cock while she’s pounding into you, making you squeal ‘nd arch your back. bringing you both to release as the two of you moan in unison, you’re squirting all over her pelvis and she’s pumping you full of her seed <33

Mirror on the Wall (18+)
Pairings: Jack Harlow x Reader
Words: 1,040
Sneak Peek: You raked your manicured nails down his back, leaving red marks in their place. Jack shivered at the graze, pinning your hands above your head so he could have all the control. He planted a deep kiss on your lips, his tongue slipping into your mouth, biting your bottom lip as he separated from you.
Warnings: It’s all smut, DNI if under 18
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Nah Ah, take it all,” Jack grunted out as he thrust into you, your back arching in response to the force of his length hitting your cervix. You were on your back, Jack’s full body weight on top of yours, making it difficult for you to do anything but submit to him. “Oh my god, fuck” you blurted out. Tears were brimming in your lashes, blurring your vision as you let out a high-pitched whine. The next noise you let out was animalistic and involuntary, the result of all air leaving your body at his next thrust, his pace unrelenting as he drove into you. “Jack, ple- I can’t”, you pushed your hands against his lower stomach to try to slow him down, maneuvering around your legs he had bent towards your shoulders, leaving your vulnerable pussy exposed to him. In an act of defiance, he switched up his speed, changing from deep thrusts to short quick pulses of his hips which hit your G spot in just the right way. “Fuck, baby, I know you can take all of it. Don’t get shy on me.”
You raked your manicured nails down his back, leaving red marks in their place. Jack shivered at the graze, pinning your hands above your head so he could have all the control. He planted a deep kiss on your lips, his tongue slipping into your mouth, biting your bottom lip as he separated from you. You chased the feeling of him on your lips, your neck stretching to reach up to him. He chuckled knowing you were desperate from him. “Fuck baby, you look fuckin’ amazing taking my dick. Do you love takin’ my dick?” All you could do was nod your head furiously, all words coming out of your mouth incoherent. “Tell me how much you love my dick, baby, I need to hear it.” Jack was demanding in his request, his ego needing this boost. “So much baby, I love your cock so much.” Satisfied with your response, he turned his attention to your beautiful body underneath him.
He ghosted his lips down your neck and chest, landing on your left nipple, taking it between his teeth and giving it a gentle tug, which made you twitch in response. He knew that was a sensitive spot for you. You grabbed handfuls of his curls at the back of his head, guiding him to give further attention to your breasts, and Jack obliged, moving between sucking your nipples and pressing kisses between your breasts. You pulled him up by the hair to give him another kiss, but his fingers suddenly rolled around your clit, making you buck your hips in response, turning your kiss into a breathy whimper into his mouth. The combination of thrusting and clitoral stimulation was too much, and you felt your orgasm begin to build. “Baby, I’m gonna cum. Please make me cum, I need you.”
“Not yet baby, don’t cum yet.” He pulled out of you suddenly, the squelch of your arousal covering his dick audible as he removed himself. You immediately placed two fingers inside your pussy to keep from losing your orgasm as Jack jumped off the bed. “Please baby, I need it. I need you back inside me.” You looked at Jack with pleading eyes as he maneuvered above your head, sitting against the headboard. He suddenly gripped underneath your arms lifting you and pulling you to sit between his open legs, your back against his chest. You could feel his hard, wet cock against your lower back. “I’m gonna make you feel good, baby. But I want you to see yourself cum so you can see what I get to see every time.” Across the bed was a floor length mirror that Jack had propped up against the wall last week, and at the time you didn’t question it.
You got shy, hiding your face in the crook of Jack’s arm, but he grabbed your chin, turning your head to look at yourself in the mirror. “Every time you look away, I stop. Understand?” he looked down at you, and you gave him a small nod. He ran his hands down your breasts, landing on your clit, and you writhed at the sensation. You were still just as sensitive as you were a few minutes ago. In the mirror you could see your swollen pussy pulsing in reaction to Jack’s touch, and that was enough to build your orgasm again. He ran his fingers through your folds a few times, wetting his fingers with your arousal before slipping two fingers into your pussy. You closed your eyes and threw your head back, and Jack pulled his fingers out, dripping wet. You whimpered at the emptiness and grabbed onto his arm. “What are you doing?” you asked breathlessly. “Open your eyes.” Your eyes shot open in compliance, and you saw Jack staring at you in the mirror.
He slipped his fingers back inside you, hooking them to hit your cushiony ceiling. It only took a few minutes for you to get close to your climax, your chest heaving, and body slumped in his lap. “Don’t stop baby, I’m gonna cum.” Jack quickened his pace, the squelching of your pussy causing his dick to twitch. “Cum for me baby.” You held his arm down so he couldn’t pull away again, your core clenching around his fingers. Your other hand found your nipple, rolling it between two fingers. You could see yourself about to tip over the edge, and Jack thought he had never seen a better sight. “Fuck, baby, yes!” you arched your back as you came around his fingers, and Jack continued to rub his fingers through your folds as you came down from your orgasm, you both continuing to squirm from the sensation. Your eyelids became heavy from exhaustion, and you lazily looked up at Jack, a smile on your face. He wrapped his arms to cover your naked breasts, and you leaned into his hold. Jack tipped your head to the side, placing wet kisses on the curve of you neck. “Mirror was a good idea, huh?” Jack whispered in your ear. “In more ways in one,” you responded, both of you laughing.

Halfbreeds - Ch 3 is up!

Six months later…
The House of Wind
Gwyneth Berdara stood with her palms braced on either side of the map laid out on the mahogany table. Behind her the private library’s hearth roared with a fire, less for the balmy summer night and more for the Valkyrie’s comfort.
She muttered to herself, eyes roving over the marks she’d made, the strategy she’d detailed, the only chance at getting her mate back from Koschei’s clutches. It was risky, but with enough Valkyrie Units dispatched Gwyn could pull it off. All she needed was for Rhys to sign off on the emergency status that would allow her to lead such a large number.
Nodding, Gwyn stood up straight, admiring the plan once more. “I promised I’d never let anyone lock you away again,” she whispered to Azriel, hoping he could hear her across the bond they’d yet to accept. “I will keep my word, Shadowsinger.”
The doors squeaked across the room and the Valkyrie’s head whipped up to see Nesta striding in, her expression cautious as she no doubt tried to gauge Gwyn’s distress over Azriel’s abduction.
Gwyn gave the eldest Archeron a hesitant smile. “I think I have a plan. It just requires a little luck, and Rhysand’s approval of…”
“Gwyn, wait,” Nesta interjected.
But there was no time to lose, so Gwyn continued, “...emergency status so I can lead a…”
“Gwyn, please stop.”
“...unit of Valkyrie to help me…”
“Listen!” Nesta snapped.
Gwyn jerked back, eyeing her friend like a potentially threatening predator. She narrowed her eyes, prompting her to explain why she was so fiercely protesting Azriel’s rescue.
Nesta breathed slowly through her nose. “Gwyn, Rhysand is calling the Night Court’s forces to retreat. He won’t be dispatching any more units until the Healers have seen to the wounded and the High Lords are able to meet and discuss how to move forward.”
Blinking, Gwyn walked around the table towards her friend. “But… but he’ll make an exception for Azriel, won’t he? That’s his brother.”
Nesta’s throat bobbed. “No exceptions, Gwyn.”
“Well, then he must not be aware that Azriel has been captured,” Gwyn countered.
Because if Rhys knew Azriel had been captured he would do everything he could to see that he was brought home. He had worked so hard to ensure Azriel lived for the past five centuries, he wouldn’t stop now. And certainly not after he had succeeded in his covert maneuvers to guarantee Gwyn and Azriel met, that the bond snapped for his brother as it had for her. That the shadowsinger received the happiness he had so long deserved.
“He’s aware Azriel was taken, Gwyn,” Nesta said gently. “And he is still ordering the retreat.”
Gwyn felt her brows pull together, her jaw falling open as she struggled to process what Nesta was saying. “He… He wants to wait to rescue him until after the High Lords have convened?”
Nesta gave a single nod, then placed a comforting hand on Gwyn’s shoulder. “If all the High Lords decide rescuing Azriel is a priority for victory, then yes.”
If Azriel’s life was ‘a priority.’
A priority?
If?
Gwyn’s blood boiled, her brows slamming down. “He can’t be serious. If he knows it’s me leading the plan, he’ll make an exception. I’ll speak with him–”
But as Gwyn tried to step around Nesta, the eldest Archeron blocked her path. Her steely eyes were hard, but Gwyn could see a frown threaten to tug at her full mouth.
“Nesta…”
“Gwyn, I’m under orders to ensure you remain here in the House of Wind until we’re called into battle,” Nesta replied. “Rhysand wants you clear-headed when we move out eventually.” Then softer, “You’re to be sequestered here on the High Lord and Lady’s orders.”
Gwyn’s whole body began to tremble with energy, her eyes blazed.
First it had been Rhysand, now it was both Rhysand and Feyre.
And judging by the immovable set of her shoulders, Nesta agreed with her sister and brother-in-law. She would follow their orders.
“Nesta, get out of my way,” Gwyn said, her voice low.
Nesta swallowed, but held her friend’s skewering gaze. “I can’t, Gwyn. I understand you want to save Azriel, but I won’t let you sacrifice Valkyrie troops in the high of your mate-induced anxiety so you can hate yourself for it later.”
Mate-induced anxiety? What the hell was that? Whatever anxiety Gwyn felt was the result of the other half of her soul being held by Koschei, not the stupid mating-bond they hadn’t even accepted yet. This blazing, burning fury that lit her up from the inside out was all hers.
Wasn’t it?
“I know it feels normal. It’s going to feel natural,” Nesta said calmly. “The urge to turn the world to ash in order to save him, right? The anger that justifies you going to such extremes. It feels like any other decision. Like you’re choosing what to read for the night.” Lady Death shook her head. “It’s not. Once the haze clears, you may regret what you did in the heat of the moment, Gwyn.”
Gwyn shoved the words away, glowering at her friend now, “Maybe I will regret it.” She took a step forward so they were nearly chest to chest, “But I know I will regret letting Koschei kill Azriel because I was too scared to stand up to you and Rhysand.”
Nesta opened her mouth, her features shadowed with alarm, but Gwyn didn’t even let her get a word out before she grabbed her by the side of her neck, applying tension to the arteries she could feel beneath the pads of her fingers. She squeezed before Nesta could pry her hand off, and Nesta’s blood pressure rose till her eyes fluttered shut. Her body began to slump, but Gwyn caught her, carefully tilting her to lie on the rug by the table.
“I’m sorry, Nesta,” Gwyn said, grabbing a throw pillow from an armchair and lifting her sister’s head to rest upon it. “But you wouldn’t let anything keep you from Cassian either.”

Ability to intercept an SR-71: Victor Belenko states the Mig-25 cannot intercept the SR-71 for several reasons: The SR-71 fly too high and too fast; the Mig cannot reach it or catch it. The missiles lack the velocity to overtake the SR-71 and in the event of a head on missile fire (The Golden BB), the Guidance system cannot adjust to the high closure rate of the SR-71.
The Mig-25 has a jam proof radar but cannot distinguish targets below 1,640 feet due to ground clutter. The radar was so powerful it could burn through jamming signals by approaching bombers.
Upon dismantling the Mig-25, the data was analyzed by the Foreign Technology Division of the Air Force at Dayton, Ohio. There were many surprises:

1The Mig had been manufactured in February 1976 and thus was one of their latest most sophisticated production aircraft.
2Transistor circuitry was not used but instead the Soviets relied on vacuum tubes for most of their electronics. The Soviets reasoned the vacuum tubes were less affected by EMP waves in the case of nuclear attack; were more resistant to temperature extremes and they were easy to replace in remote airfields where transistors may not be readily available if repairs were needed.
3Welding was done by hand.
4Rivet heads were exposed in areas not critical to parasitic aerodynamic drag.
5Pilot forward vision was highly obstructed.
6With huge Tumansky R-15D-300 engines the Mig was considered almost a rocket.
7Pilots were forbidden to exceed Mach 2.5. There was a total of three engine instruments and the airspeed indicator was redlined at 2.8 Mach.
8Above Mach 2.8 the engines would overheat and burn up. The Americans had clocked a Mig-25 over Israel at Mach 3.2 in 1973. Upon landing in Egypt, the engines were totally destroyed. We did not understand that the engine destruction was inevitable.
9The combat radius is 186 miles.
10Without using afterburner; staying at optimum altitude and not maneuvering, the Mig can fly in a straight line for 744 miles.
11The plane was so heavy at 64,200 pounds, that according to early rumors Soviet designers had to eliminate a pilot ejection system. However this was disproved.  Most MiG-25s used the KM-1 ejector seat. The last versions used an early variant of the famous K-36 seat. The speed record for the fastest successful ejection (Mach 2.67) is held by a KM-1 equipped MiG-25.
12Maximum operational altitude: Carrying two missiles, 78,740 feet (for maximum two minutes duration); carrying four missiles, 68,900 feet is maximum.
13Maximum altitude of missiles: 88,588 feet.
14Maximum G load: With full fuel tanks 2.2 G's is max; with near empty fuel tanks, 5 G's is dangerous. The Mig-25 cannot turn inside a U.S. F-4 Phantom fighter!
15The plane was made of steel alloy, not high temperature titanium, although strips of titanium was used in areas of high heat concentration.
16In a tight turn the missiles could be ripped from the wings. thesr71blackbird.com/Aircraft/Stori…

2. More Courage to Live by emmettsforest [E, 63k]
►It wasn’t that the Dursleys abused Harry, really. There were no horrible beatings, no injuries that left marks, nothing like that. But they were cruel with their words, and they controlled his food to the point that some days he thought he might go insane, and Vernon did slap him pretty hard the one time, after Harry dropped a soapy dinner plate and it shattered. Sometimes Vernon flew into rages, but it wasn’t, like, horrible. Harry could always maneuver his way through. /// Or, the one where Harry is an American high school student, and Tom Riddle is a whole other kind of villain.

INDEX
Aviation Terms
hiya! i wanted to make a quick reference point for any terms that may be unfamiliar to those without knowledge in aviation, especially in military aviation. i realized some things may not be completely clear and thought i should make a quick guide!
F/A-18 Superhornet: For this fic, the primary aircraft used is the F/A-18 Superhornet, sometimes called an F-18. This is a fighter jet used currently with the United States Navy, and because I have no idea what would be flown in Panem, we’re gonna go with this jet lol. This aircraft was also used in Top Gun: Maverick, and is also the modern fighter jet I know the most about personally. So that’s why I chose it for this story.
Tumblr media
Weapons Systems Officer (WSO): this is the person who sits in the back seat of the F-18 behind the pilot and controls the aircraft’s weapons systems (such as missile lock, radar, and communications). though not all F-18s are two-seaters, a WSO can be crucial in combat missions so that the pilot can focus on precision flying and maneuvering of the aircraft. the WSO and pilot must work as a team. (note: WSO is pronounced “wizzo” lol)
Canopy: The canopy is the glass dome above the aircraft seats.
Ejection Handles: The F-18 Superhornet has a yellow and black striped loop between both the pilot’s legs and the WSO’s legs. When pulled hard, the canopy will lift off the jet to clear for the people inside to be ejected from the aircraft. This is a last resort, emergency measure.
Runway VS Taxiway: A runway is the road which an aircraft takes off from. A taxiway is the road that leads up to the runway and is much shorter. Taxiing an aircraft simply means moving it on the ground.
Hard Deck: this is a strict limit set by your instructor or superior officer that dictates how low from the ground you may fly your aircraft. if the hard deck is set at 5 thousand feet, you cannot fly below that.
Hard Ceiling: this is the opposite of the hard deck; the hard ceiling is the maximum height you may fly your aircraft. if the hard ceiling is set at 35 thousand feet, you cannot fly above that.
G-Force: this is the force of gravity. we are at a constant 1g on earth which is 1 x the amount of gravity. for example, if a pilot “pulls” 2gs, they are experiencing twice the force of gravity meaning they will weigh twice as much.
G-Suit: this is a special garment worn by people in the jets that inflates at high Gs to constrict blood flow in the lower half of the body. at high Gs, the blood in your body will begin to pool in your lower half due to gravity pulling it down. this can cause a myriad of issues.
G-loc: this stands for “g-force induced loss of consciousness”. when the blood begins to leave your brain, you will begin to pass out. to avoid this, g-suits are used as well as special muscle training wherein you flex your lower muscles to help force the blood back up. there are also breathing maneuvers you can use to prevent this from happening.
Why They Wear Oxygen Masks: pilots and back seaters wear oxygen masks that clip into their helmets because high altitudes means the oxygen thins out. without oxygen, they will experience something called hypoxia. oxygen masks are precisely and meticulously fitted to each person to ensure that it is completely sealed against their face when worn.
Hypoxia: hypoxia occurs when the brain doesn’t get enough oxygen. symptoms may vary (deliriousness, panic, dizziness/nausea, etc) but left untreated will lead to loss of consciousness and can kill you in a matter of minutes. pilots and WSOs can correct for this using their oxygen mask and adjusting the percentage of oxygen they get through their mask.
Missile Lock: when a jet has been fixed as a target from another aircraft, sensors will catch this and warn the pilot with a loud, shrill tone ringing. the pilot must then evade or take counter measures such as deploying missiles or guns at the enemy aircraft. missile lock is generally performed by the back seater, though a pilot can also do this.
Dogfighting: this is the term used for air-to-air combat.
“copy”/“roger”: “i understand.”
“lights out”: “confirmed kill”
“splash”: “confirmed hit”
“copy kill”: “i understand that i have been “killed” in this training exercise”
“knock it off”: “this training exercise is over”
phonetic alphabet: this is the alphabet used by aviators to be certain and clear on spellings and letters.

*Smacks the top of DeadSpace! Starscream’s helm*
This bad boy has seen so many horrors beyond Cybertronian comprehension-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know the Holoform Au is gonna win on the poll, but lately I’ve been on a Dead Space kick, and decided to at least get DeadSpace! Starscream’s design and modifications down. Because I love him, and I love putting him through the horrors, and he has not left me alone-
Notable Autobot modifications-
Starscream had his main frame reformatted, keeping his flight frame base but adding denser material for defense and durability for deep dive repairs in more unforgiving environments, most noticeable around his chassis and abdomen. He has flashlights/headlights installed in the front of his chassis for dark environments.
Orange and red biolights have also been added to illuminate dark spaces.
The Autobots have also , reluctantly, allowed him to keep his guns upon the human assistants’ requests and insistence. A mod has been added to his right servo allowing hologram transmissions and holographic control panels he can interact with. On his left servo, a mod was added that allowed a weak telekinetic tether to move objects for engineering purposes.
Human added modifications-
Wings- The humans in charge of helping reformat him decided it would be a good idea to give his wings more mobility and movement for him to easily maneuver into places. With his permission and guidance, they managed to remove certain plating and hinges to allow his wings free range mobility. He noticeably emotes with them, showing many emotions and a new range of body language
Peds- One human noted how quickly he could move with his thrusters. One main concern of theirs was him being able to control the power of the thrust when he was in more compromising positions, especially in Zero-G where gravity and weight couldn’t counter the output. Starscream agreed to have modifications done to his heel thrusters, and now, while forced to output a much lower force at first, can better control hovering and direction changes, even upside down. He still retains his high-speed flight abilities for more speedy requirements, upon his request.
Another ped modification was the addition of voluntary magnetic control. Starscream now has the ability to latch onto metal walls and ceilings at will for better reach and support. Most effective in Zero-G environments
Welding/Gas Mask (planning on redesigning at some point)- An important modification done by the humans, who had the concern of him being exposed to toxic material and high temperatures that could damage his vents and faceplates. Made from the same material guarding and adorning his chassis, his mask allows him to filter toxic air and protect against high ranging temperatures he may be exposed to.
Back Mod- A modification that allows him and human teammates to survey his damage and vitality status. A glowing orange that changes color and placement the more damaged or repaired he gets. The lower the durability to his armor, the lower and deeper red the mod readings become. When he is at full durability, the light is a bright orange.

Medusa-Class Battleship
Tumblr media
Creator: Thai'Qul Length: 798 Meters Width: 378 Meters (Widest Point); 70 meters (Narrowest Point) Propulsion: Nuclear Pulse Drive; Five Fusion Drive Thrusters Crew Complement: 5,000-7,000 (Normal complement); 10,000 (Max. Capacity) Radiator Type: Solid-State/Droplet Armaments:
x8 40mm Point Defense Cannons (PDCs) (Aft)
x4 Cargo/Torpedo Bays (Aft)
x2000 5-kiloton driver warheads (Aft)
x4 Ultra-Relativistic Electron Beam (UREB) Cannons (Bow)
Interior
Because the Thai'Qul are an aquatic species, their ships are unique in being almost entirely filled with water. This pulls triple duty in protecting the occupants from intense G-forces, radiation and heat; providing resources for the fusion reactor and torpedoes, and in the event of a hull breach, lost water can be more easily retrieved than air. The consequence of this is that it increases the ship's overall mass, requiring more energy for any kind of acceleration or deceleration. This is also another reason for their ruthless pragmatism: the lack of air pockets outside the cargo sections prevents them from easily taking prisoners or taking larger ships aboard.
Creators
An average Thai'Qul male. Roughly 85% of the species is male, carrying out tasks for the rarely-seen matriarchs, who outsize them significantly. On ships such as the Medusa-class, prepubescent matriarchs- referred to colloquially as "Countesses"- serve the role of captains and admirals.
Strategic Overview
If there's any way to describe the Thai'Qul military doctrine, it would be ruthless pragmatism. Rather than engaging in widespread power projection, heavier ships are mostly concentrated within their own systems, while smaller vessels are the most commonly encountered. These represent the first line of defense, focused on patrolling defense perimeters.
Should a perimeter be broken and an enemy force infiltrate a Thai'Qul system, either by evading or destroying lighter vessels, this is when battleships such as the Medusa-class are deployed. This typically follows barrages of Thai'Qul frigates and corvettes, which will try to guide invaders into designated kill zones, where the Medusa-class will engage them at close range, such as near large asteroids, space stations or ring systems.
While these battleships lack high speed or fine maneuvering, they make up for it with powerful defenses and overwhelming firepower, particularly their UREBs. Once the invader's shields and other defenses have been exhausted, should they refuse to surrender, attacks from these beams will irradiate and effectively sterilize the target.
This is done because, rather than simply blowing up bellicose ships, the Thai'Qul will always try to salvage as much technology and information from them as possible, either to assess motivations or reverse-engineer whatever they discover. Of course, should a ship surrender instead, the Thai'Qul will gladly accept, taking the time to analyze captured ships just as thoroughly.
This doctrine has proven to be quite effective in multiple engagements and ensured invasions of their systems are rare.
Ship Diagram
The Bow Shield is a large dome entirely covered in ablative heat-resistant armor.
The nose of the craft houses the four UREB cannons, which cover a large hemispherical field. While the beams lose effectiveness over time or when fired at an angle, time dilation effects prevent them from completely dissipating over longer ranges. Maximum energy from the bremsstrahlung resulting from impact has been measured at over 5,000 Sieverts.
The UREBs are only possible via the battleship's length, where the linear accelerator (Linac) runs along the central axis of the ship.
The Medusa-Class doesn't have a designated bridge or command module, but instead 36 large windowless spheres, where most of the crew resides. Commands, controls and sensor readings are instead performed using holographic display interfaces that crew members can pull up at any moment. This ensures damage to one area of the ship will not compromise control, and that key staff can be moved into the interior.
The ship uses a combination of solid-state and droplet cooling with liquid lithium, firing the molten coolant into space, where it condenses into larger drops before being recaptured in a dish section for recirculation. Additional radiators vent excess heat to prevent the lithium from completely vaporizing. In times of duress, this coolant can be used as everything from makeshift flares to additional thrusters.
The aft section consists of a large octagonal cylinder, which houses bay sections designed to be drained of water so cargo, torpedoes and other craft can be sent into space. This is also where the ship's fusion reactor is housed.
The PDCs, nicknamed "Barnacles," allow the ship to fire at targets behind or beside the ship.
Contrary to popular belief, the piston supports are only painted blue and not transparent, though they are full of water to help cushion the impact following a pulse.
The pistons and their shock absorbers are attached to a set of electric motors, which extract a small, but not insubstantial amount of power from every pulse.
The Drive Cone is fitted with flexible rings and is even colored bright white to take advantage of as much radiation pressure as possible. Usage of this drive is why the battleship can't be used in a planetary orbit, as the risk of creating radiation belts poses a threat to orbital infrastructure.

OK SO FUNNY STORY IM INCREDIBLY INDECISIVE.
I couldn’t decide between the two so I’m leaving your genius writing brain to it if you’re up for it of course
72 “Never underestimate the power of these hands." With Ler Mikey and Lee literally anyone- this little critter is a vicious ler.
84 “You’re not gonna like where that sass is gonna take you” with Ler Raph and Lee Leo
I LOVE YOUR WORK SO MUCH AND I HOPE YOU HAVE A DAY AS AMAZING AS YOU MUAH💗💗💗💗
Spar
Tumblr media
Ahhh thank you for sending!!! I’m so glad I could write this. Sorry it took a while lol I got quite a lot of asks so it’ll probably take a bit of time to get to all of them as well as this one did lol. Anyway hope you like it!
72. “Never underestimate the power of these hands.”
Prompt list
The turtles were in the dojo sparring. Leo and Raph went up against one another, with Leo ending up on his ass. Now Donnie and Mikey were up.
“Don’t worry little brother. I’ll make sure to go nice and easy on you.” Donnie told his brotherly opponent with a smirk.
Mikey grinned right back at him. “Oh don’t worry. You won’t have to.”
Donnie had to admit Mikey was getting better at smack talking. Well, he was never really bad anyway. He just never hit down with his words as hard as the rest being the youngest and all. But for once, Donnie could swear he felt some level of being intimidated (only a LITTLE ok? Donnie was still tougher. Definitely.)
And so they began. There were no weapons allowed. Splinter wanted them to learn how to fight in combat instead of relying on their weapons
This also meant Donnie couldn’t wear his battle shell, as that technically counted as a weapon. Donnie was a bit nervous at first, but the brothers assured they’d try and be careful.
Anyway, fighting commenced.
Mikey came at Donnie with full force, punching at every opening he could get.
At one point, Donnie managed to do a sort of maneuver he learned, that had Mikey flat on his back.
“Haha!!! I have bested thee!!!!” Donnie cheered with a proudly evil laugh.
Mikey suddenly grinned evilly. “Never underestimate the power of these hands."
“W-what? But I- gAh!” Donnie yelped as Mikey suddenly jumped up and tackled him to the ground.
Donnie was about to push the smaller and younger one off, when Mikey began scribbling at his sides, making Donnie burst into a bubbly stream of giggles, the tickling immediately weakening him.
“W-wahahitt thihihis ihis cheheheating!” He protested, his hands gripped tightly around Mikey’s wrists.
“Nothings cheating as long as it isn’t our weapons or gear!” Mikey argued with a smirk.
Leo and Raph watched with grins as their younger brother was taking down their scientist brother.
Donnie tried kicking Mikey off but Mikey then settled himself on his older brothers legs.
Mikey tried prying his arms away from his side to pin them, but Donnie put all his strength to keep his arms glued to his sides protectively.
“Raph, Leo, can you guys give me a hand here?” He asked his other brothers with a smirk.
Raph and Leo replied back with their own smirks as they ran to help pin their intellectual brothers arms down.
Donnie felt way more sensitive now that he was in this position.
“G-guys…” Donnie stuttered nervously. “W-we can talk about this…”
“No more talking Don! Only laughing!”
Mikey then descended on his upper ribs and Donnie was immediately thrown into cackles.
“WAHAHAIT DOHOHOHONT!!!”
“Don’t what Donnie? You’ll have to be more specific.” Mikey told him slyly.
“YOHOHOU KNOHOHOW WHAHAHAT!!!”
“Sorry Donald. I’m afraid I don’t know what you mean.”
“J-JEHEHERK!!!”
“Excuse me?! Ohhhoho you’ll regret that!” Mikey said menacingly, and he dug hard into his armpits.
“NONONONOHOHOAHAHAHA-“
Donnie’s brain was scrabbled. He couldn’t think.
Soon he was having difficulty breathing. Mikey picked up on this and stopped.
He signaled Raph and Leo to let his arms go and Donnie, still giggling, quickly brought his arms down to protect himself.
Mikey got off him. “I win!” He cheered, high fiving Raph and Leo.
Donnie smiled to himself as his giggles faded. He had to admit he was proud of his little brother.

My WiFi cut out just as I sent you an ask, so just in case: could an F-14 put turn an A-4 Skyhawk?
Ignore me if you got the first one, Olie!
Thank you so much, and Happy Holidays if you celebrate!
Let me start out by saying thank you so much for your ask! I had sooooo much fun researching this even if it was frustrating at times. I wish I could have a whole library of aviation-themed references and documents at my disposal! It was a nice break from researching hypoxia in military aviation. Let me preface I'm no expert, but I'd like to think I evaluated it fairly thoroughly :)
Before we get started, there are a couple of things to know.
The turn performance of an aircraft is dependent on two things, the turn rate and turn radius. The turn rate of an aircraft is measured in degrees per second, whereas the turn radius is measured as the diameter of the turn. As speed increases, so will the turn rate and turn speed, until it reaches the “corner speed.”
The “corner” speed is when an aircraft gets its best turn rate, the minimum speed at which the maximum sustainable g-force load can be generated [2]. An F-14 Tomcat will tell you when you’re flying aircraft to the best of its ability; when flying at corner speed, along the edge of the buffet, the jet will shake as if it were “going over a rough road” [5].
In very simple terms, this was when airflow was doing all it could do to make the aircraft perform the maneuver, so if the pilot felt the edge of the buffet then he was getting the maximum turn. If he did not feel it, he wasn’t getting the maximum turn – but there could be a reason for that such as trying to increase speed. And if he pulled harder on the stick he could stall or depart the jet.
The corner speed is a very carefully balanced value, any change to the speed or g-force will decrease the efficiency of the turn and therefore decrease turn performance.
Turning at a speed greater than the corner speed while at the max sustainable load will result in an increased turn rate (bad) and an increased turn radius (bad)
Turning at a speed lower than the corner speed while at the max sustainable load will result in a decreased turn radius (good) and a decreased turn rate (bad).
Turning at a higher load of g’s (aka “pulling” more g’s) while at the corner speed will result in an aerodynamic stall.
Turning at a lower load of g’s (aka “pulling” less g’s) while at the corner speed will result in an increased turn radius.
A decreased turn performance isn’t necessarily a bad thing, in fact to fly at an aircraft’s corner speed is fairly dangerous as it is just at the edge of a stall by design. In terms of a dogfight, however, flying at the corner speed and therefore optimizing the turn performance is critical.
There is also such a thing as an “instantaneous turn-rate,” where turns occur above the maximum sustainable g-force load, as high as 12 G’s according to F-14 Tomcat pilot Joe “Hoser” Satrapa [3]. Note that 12 G’s is well above the limit of the F-14 Tomcat, which was designed for 7.5 G but typically limited to 6.5 G in the fleet. In the F-14 Tomcat there was no system that limited the amount of G’s the aircraft would endure. These turns may have very small turn radii but will result in massive amounts of loss in energy, either in speed or altitude, and are therefore unsustainable due to how quickly they can reach the stall speed.
Paul Nickell, a former TOPGUN instructor with experience flying the F-14 Tomcat, F-5, and A-4 Skyhawk stated bluntly that “the A-4s and F-5s that were being flown by TOPGUN couldn’t match the F-14s ability to turn” [1]. To combat this, they would increase their turn rate to end up in an offensive position but would do so “much slower (lower energy) than the F-14” [1]. Pilots have said that you don’t fly slow against Tomcats because according to this graph below from the flight manual for an F-14A+/B/D (found on a forum), the F-14 will turn tighter in both sustained and instant capacities than most aircraft flying below Mach 0.7.
Tumblr media
However, the A-4 Skyhawk isn’t most aircraft. John Chesire, a former US Naval Aviator and TOPGUN graduate states that “The reason that the A-4 was used as an adversary training aircraft for TOPGUN and fleet pilots was not because it was a good fighter. It was because its tight turning radius simulated the tight turning MiG series aircraft” [6]. I was unable to find the turn radius of the A-4 Skyhawk despite a lot of searching (and I mean A LOT), but knowing it was designed to simulate the MiG series, I looked for the turn performance of the MiG-17. The MiG-17 was famous for its turn performance, historian Richard P. Hallion writing that “[Its] afterburner-sustained turns in a close-in ‘fur-ball’ could be lethal” [7]. According to some sources, the MiG-17 had a sustained turn rate of 13 degrees per second with a radius of 1800 ft at low altitude at 300 knots. Looking at the graph above, if a Tomcat was pulling 7.5 Gs with a turn rate of 28 degrees per second with a radius of 1000 ft at approximately Mach 0.6. Other sources claim the F-14 Tomcat has turn performance more comparable to that of the MiG-17, with a slightly higher turn rate and speed but a slightly larger turn radius, but it is impressive regardless. The big problem with this is that while the MiG-17 has an afterburner, the A-4 Skyhawk does not.
If we examine other aspects of each aircraft, the A-4 could hold its own but only if it got the F-14 Tomcat to slow down. Even then, it wouldn’t be an easy fight as the Tomcat was the better aircraft overall. It had other advantages, of course, one of which was that it was much smaller than the F-14 Tomcat. In fact, the horizontal stabilizers of the F-14 Tomcat are 33 ft wide, meaning the wingspan of the A-4 Skyhawk at 27’ 6” is smaller than the horizontal stabilizers of the F-14 Tomcat. The F-14 Tomcat, appropriately nicknamed “tennis court”, was the largest and heaviest fighter aircraft to ever fly off of an aircraft carrier. Though the Tomcat was known for its endurance, that endurance does not apply to dogfights. In full afterburner, the F-14 could burn close to 2,000 lbs of fuel per minute having only taken off with 16,000 lbs of fuel to begin with. Comparatively, the A-4, which is actually a subsonic aircraft as it does not have an afterburner, could fly for “more than an hour at full military power” [1]. This means that the F-14 Tomcat had to act fast, be disciplined, and go into dogfights with strategies and plans in mind. “Get in, take its shots, and get out,” Nickell states [1].
I know I am biased, however, given what I have heard from all those that have flown her, I do believe in most cases the F-14 Tomcat will outmaneuver most fourth-generation aircraft.
But despite all of this…
It’s not the plane, it’s the pilot(s) :)

Hello!
I saw that on Sky Germany website there is a video of Sebastian at the SailGP. Do you still translate things related to Sebastian Vettel?
Here https://sport.sky.de/artikel/segeln-ex-formel-1-fahrer-sebastian-vettel-feiert-premiere/12925984/34240
Translation coming up!
Okay it's really weird, because most parts of the video don't have sound 🤔
My phone cannot play the video at all, saying it's not available and then I thought my laptop has difficulties with playing sound overall, but the video has got sound, but only the parts where Seb is talking and it sounds like he is answering some kind of questions so there is definitely something missing!
—————————————————
Tumblr media
To sum it up:
Seb is now co-owner of the German SailGP team and was able to take part in a drive around on the German F50-catamaran this weekend at the coast of Los Angeles. The video shows Seb interacting with people, getting on the boat and a little segment of him taking part in the drive. (*all without sound*🥲)
—————————————————
But here are the parts that I could hear (some of which were already in English which I only transcribed. I also did little paragraphs where I suspect new questionshave been asked):
"It was by coincidence obviously. I often heard that there are a lot of similarities between sailing really high class and racing on the track, which I know (*laughs*) probably a lot better (*laughs*), but yeah, then though Thomas, who yeah, was the initiator of the German team, I got into it, I heard about it, learned about it, and yeah, I got more and more hooked. I'm not a sailor myself, yet, so maybe to be, but yeah, that's how it all started. (I) tried windsurfing, that's as close as I got.
Now it's fascinating to see there's a whole nother world that which I said has a lot ofthings in common and yeah, to understand the element of wind is very difficult because you can't grab it.
I think watching now on TV is a lot easier then back in the day, because you've got all the graphics, so you understand actually who is leading, what's going on, you see where the wind is coming and what's most likely to happen. In the end it's all about details and that's what every team seems to be looking for.
Well I think for sure by nature. It's more sustainable, I mean it's powered by nature, so obviously that's very exciting. Once it gets the lift and foils, it's pretty incredible. Also to stand on land and see it is pretty cool.
Well it's still early days. If you look at it, as far as I understand where the team comes from I think it's a big shot. I think we are happy with how the first event went and looking forward to the second one.
Yeah I think for one, the speed. When the boat was up once, everything is suddenly quiet and you can only hear the wind, but then the wind gets stronger and then the maneuvers in the corners, the interaction of the crew, the coordination just beforehand and the start, cause there us not much time left then to speed around the corners. I think you kind of understand more of how everything works together, so that it will work well, if you've driven yourself.
Yeah, I would say I still have the view if an athlete and I think it's incredibly interesting. I think every kind of sport has its charm and if you get into it like today it helps you a lot more to assess it. That the level is very high I think you can see from the outside, how big the boats are and then the speeds added to that, but if you then have the chance to participate/drive in it once, I really enjoyed it, then I think you can get more into the rhythm and understand what exactly is demanded. Its very very physical, you are on edge the whole time, especially with the G forces in the corners and yeah, it's oftentimes hard to explain, even if back then when I talked about racing it was very hard to convey that it's actually really exhausting, and yeah, it's a great sport, really.
Yeah well, my role isn't really that active that I sit in the boat every weekend, steer it and make decisions with them, but rather try to incorporate my experience from theoutside. Especially the teamwork and the all data is something that I worked with extensively within the last years, or was allowed to work with, and be able to bring something to the table there, I think just this inside view, because I think not dependable on the kind of sport you can contribute a lot of experiences and if it helps, all the better.
Ah well, it was great. I didn't know what to expect to be honest. It was really impressive in many ways, first of all the speed on water is you know, a different perception of speed. But then the G forces, the cornering, but also to see the crew, you know communicating to each other, preparing sort of the next move, why you're trying to optimise the current course, yeah. Also you know there's sometimes not much time before you make a decision orbefore you got to make a turn, so that was very impressive to feel it from the inside.
Yeah for sure, it's very different to racing. I mean I did miss my seat belts and my seat, so it was a bit adventurous at the beginning, the changing sides, gotta aim for the little hole to jump into, but yeah, I did get used to that part, but the first couple of times was, I wouldn't say scary, just very very unusual. But yeah, then you get in the groove and obviously I had whole trust in the team surrounding and it was fun to then feel the boat also accelerating, picking up speed, so that was very nice."
—————————————————
Interview, after Seb was just taking a ride on the catamaran:
Person A: "Allright, you're ready? Is everything working?"
B: "Yeah"
A: "Cool! (To Seb:) Okay, if you can look at me: So, what is your first reaction? You actually got to drive and fly the boat! What was it like?"
Seb: "Well it was amazing! I think (it's) very different when you're on the boat than when you are on land, but everything is moving, changing sides is eh, quite a challenge the first time, then you sort of get used to it. Very very impressed by the G force, you were able to pull the boat round the corners, I did not expect that! Yeah, I was wishing for a setabelt to be honest (*laughs*) when cornering, but yeah it was incredible to see how the team interacts with each other, always trying to keep the boat in control and obviously try to make it go as fast as possible, yeah, was impressive."
A: "How was the crossing-the-boat?"
*Switches to German and basically repeats it all*
Seb: "Yeah, I mean I didn't look down, so I just focused on where I needed to end up and also, you know, when you see the corner, the turn coming, I was sometimes a little bit, not panicking, cause I trust them, but thinking 'okay, it's about time! Should J really? Switch? To the other side?' And then obviously they're used to it, doing it in the last second so literally a second before the last turn, the last guy hops in the hole and we got the corner coming, so yeah, good fun, definitely!
Yeah, it was mega! Very different from what I expected, especially the G forces in the corners, you can really let it fly around the corners. But also the speed in general! Just with the wind, when the boat is going up it all gets a little quieter and you only hear the wind that is getting louder and louder. Yeah it was a lot of fun and also seeing how the team works together and always has everything under control, yeah a lot to take in, but it was really good!"

Chinese Air Force J-20 stealth fighter able to launch missiles in high-G maneuvers
Monday, 09 October 2023 11:47
Despite the need to conceal its munitions in an internal weapons bay for enhanced stealth capabilities, China's J-20 stealth fighter jet can still effectively launch missiles in extreme battlefield conditions, as revealed by the chief test pilot of the aircraft quoted by Liu Xuanzun in Global Times.

It took nearly seven years for the J-20 to be officially incorporated into the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force after its inaugural flight in 2011. Throughout this period, the aircraft underwent a series of combat-oriented test flights that pushed its boundaries and confirmed its operational safety in various extreme scenarios. Li Gang, the chief test pilot of the J-20, discussed these trials in an interview with China Central Television (CCTV) broadcast.
Ezoic
Among the significant challenges faced during these test flights was the simulation of emergency missile launches from the weapons bay in the midst of extreme battlefield conditions. This test involved opening the bay hatch and launching a missile while executing high-G rolling maneuvers, as described by Li. "It takes some time for the missile to launch after I press the launch button. If an enemy missile were to come for me during this period, I would have to execute emergency maneuvers at high speed and high G forces. In this scenario, my missile needs to be ejected from the weapons bay without impacting my own aircraft or posing any danger," Li explained.
The test flights also demonstrated that the J-20's weapons bay and weapons separation system have been validated through practical application. The J-20 publicly revealed its weapons bays and showcased its missile arsenal for the first time at Airshow China 2018 in Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong Province. The ‘’belly’’ bay can accommodate at least four PL-15 beyond-visual-range missiles, along with side bays on each side of the aircraft capable of holding at least one PL-10 short-range missile each.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Already struggling to keep his Chinatown bar afloat, Yousef Tellawi felt a sense of impending doom when he learned that the owner of Washington's Capitals and Wizards wanted to move the teams out of the neighborhood and into northern Virginia.
The departure of the teams from their home at Capital One Arena, he said, “would completely pull the plug on Chinatown,” an area that's already been hit hard by a post-pandemic decline in the number of downtown office workers and a sharp increase in violent crime in the district.
Across the Anacostia River, another fragile Washington neighborhood is dreading the ripple effects of that stadium deal — which still needs approval by the Virginia General Assembly and the city of Alexandria.
Congress Heights is one of Washington's poorest neighborhoods and, like Chinatown, also has suffered under the current crime spike. And it, too, has pinned its economic hopes on a sports arena and the crowds it draws to games, concerts and other events.
The 8-year-old Entertainment and Sports Arena is home to the WNBA’s Washington Mystics and the NBA G-league’s Capital City Go-Go and also serves as the Wizards' practice facility. If the deal goes through, Ted Leonsis, majority owner of all four teams, is proposing that the Mystics move from their current home to the much larger Capital One Arena, once it is vacated by the Capitals and Wizards.
“We’re all pinning our plans on that arena to help feed the east side of the river,” said Ronald Moten, a longtime local activist and community organizer. "This would take away a lot of the credibility we’ve built.”
The fate of these two vulnerable neighborhoods now hangs in the balance during what could be several more months of political wrangling. Leonsis’ announcement of a tentative agreement with Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin has touched off a flurry of public maneuvers, lobbying and negotiation-via-press conference. The deal, according to preliminary numbers, would cost $2 billion, with about $1.5 billion of that coming in the form of bonds that would be repaid by a mix of tax revenue from the stadium and surrounding complex, lease payments and other sources.
Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser’s government, seemingly caught by surprise by the Virginia deal, has responded with a slightly dissonant two-track strategy. She convened a high-level task force to develop plans for a reimagining of the Chinatown district in the absence of the arena. But simultaneously, Bowser and the D.C. Council scrambled to put together a $500 million offer to renovate Capital One and are not-so-quietly hoping the Virginia deal falls apart.
Council President Phil Mendelson recently summed up the mood by saying, “I wish no ill will on anyone. But if the deal falls through in Virginia, we’re ready to pick it up.”
For Tellawi, who manages the Bulldog bar around the corner from Capital One, the potential loss of the venue is an existential threat. His most profitable nights are when the arena hosts a major concert that floods Chinatown with fans. Home hockey games for the Capitals generally produce a moderate bump in business. And for reasons Tellawi struggles to understand, Wizards home games barely make a dent.
Tellawi has to innovate to draw crowds. He hosts stand-up comedy events three nights a week with the first drink free, but notes that most of the female comedians insist on finishing before 10 p.m. due to safety concerns about the neighborhood.
“Right now, we’re still fighting," he said. “Maybe you could say we’re on life support.”
In Congress Heights, residents and business owners have similarly been counting on its 4,200-seat arena to anchor the neighborhood and help lift the neighborhood's fortunes. Moten, the local community activist, envisions the arena spawning “a new Black Wall Street,” and offering opportunities for a fresh generation of Black entrepreneurs.
A recent visit to Congress Heights revealed some signs of what Moten is hoping for. The arena, located on the sprawling campus of the former St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, still feels slightly isolated — largely surrounded by red brick former hospital buildings in various states of construction or disrepair. But directly next door stands the gleaming blonde wood of Sycamore and Oak, a multi-level commercial center featuring a food court, boutique grocery stores and multiple shops — all Black owned.
For the business owners at Sycamore and Oak, which opened in summer 2023, the arena’s foot traffic for basketball games, boxing matches and the occasional concert is already an important lifeline.
“We definitely get a rush before and after games,” said Dante Brown, owner of Triceys DC Afro-Caribbean restaurant. “It’s very important. And look around, this is just the beginning of what we’re trying to do.”
So far, the threat remains a distant one. Bowser has flatly rejected Leonsis' proposal to move the Mystics to Capital One if the Wizards and Capitals leave, saying the WNBA team's shorter schedule would leave Capital One vacant too often and that she has “zero interest in an underutilized arena.”
She notes that the Mystics are committed to play in Congress Heights through 2037 unless the city chooses to release them. Leonsis also has a long-term commitment to Capital One Arena through 2047, but could buy himself a 2027 exit by paying off $35 million in outstanding bonds. Officials with Leonsis’ Monumental Sports maintain that Capital One would thrive in the absence of any sports teams — freeing up the schedule to host entertainers and events seeking multi-day commitments that the arena can't currently meet during basketball or hockey season.
Moten has thrown his support into the Stop The Arena movement — which recently sent a busload of activists to Richmond, the state capital, to lobby legislators. The prospects for the legislation underpinning the deal look uncertain as the Virginia General Assembly’s session nears its scheduled March 9 end date.
If the deal does pass the state legislature, the final major hurdle would be a potentially raucous public showdown at the Alexandria City Council. Opponents cite objections to the public expenditure and a belief that traffic to the proposed new arena would overwhelm U.S. Highway 1 without massive infrastructure upgrades.
Leonsis has responded with a public letter claiming the envisioned sports and entertainment complex in Alexandria's Potomac Yard neighborhood would be, “like nothing ever built before in sports and entertainment.”
The letter played down any divisions between the District of Columbia and the intertwined communities of northern Virginia and southern Maryland, claiming they were all part of the same “supercity” and would all benefit from the new venture.
Leonsis also diplomatically pointed out one of the uncomfortable truths of the Chinatown issue — the fact that public safety in the area around Capital One has deteriorated badly in a way that may be scaring off potential customers.
“It is clear to us, and many of our neighboring businesses and residents in Chinatown that the needs of downtown Washington, DC and its businesses and residents are significant and challenging for the city,” the letter stated.
Violent crime in Chinatown rose by 36% in 2023, according the Metropolitan Police Department — part of a citywide spike in homicides and carjackings. In August, months before Leonsis announced his Virginia deal, a public meeting on Chinatown safety featured multiple residents complaining to city and police officials of worsening conditions and what they claimed was an open-air drug market right outside the main Gallery Place Metro entrance.
Michael Shankle, a member of Chinatown's Advisory Neighborhood Commission, says the idea of deteriorating safety in Chinatown is part-truth, part perception. Smash-and-grab break-ins on parked cars and storefronts have shot up since the pandemic, he said, along with occasionally aggressive panhandlers and a 24/7 marijuana smell outside the Gallery Place escalators.
“I think people have a sense of greater vulnerability” Shankle said. “I don't feel unsafe walking around, but I see where that perception would come from.”
Tellawi, of the Bulldog bar, feels those safety problems personally. Four people have been shot on the surrounding block since the bar opened — he said he witnessed one of the shootings. Last year, somebody broke into the bar, raided the refrigerators and was caught by police doing drugs upstairs.
“Honestly, things haven't been going great here even with the arena,” he said. “If the teams do leave, my only hope is that the city government takes that $500 million they're offering (Leonsis) and pours it into making this neighborhood safe again.”

Bugsnax headcanon: If grumpuses are jet pilots
After playing Ace Combat series for a long time, I was thinking of a headcanon of which aircrafts the grumpuses would be manning. FYI Those who are absent wouldn’t be willing to be a a pilot due to several reasons. Endgame spoilers warning!
Filbo: He would be pretty much a YH equivalent to PJ (Crow 3) from Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War, as he’ll show up in a F-16C “Fighting Falcon” (multirole). However, despite the aircraft’s well-rounded capabilities, it doesn’t really help much considering Filbo would pass out from g-LOC. Or worse, feel nauseous while piloting. He’s better off as an WSO (weapon systems officer) while the Journalist does the job for him.
Wambus: F-4 Phantom II. Despite being an old multirole fighter (like the pilot as he’s hitting 50′s and his body is no longer able to withstand such high amount of g-force), it makes up for its payload and great range while performing well for air superiority and taking down ground targets. By any chance, Triffany would be his WSO (kinda like Monarch and Prez from Project Wingman).
Chandlo: For someone who want an attacker that withstands lots of punishment while causing the most damage as possible, he’ll look no further as the A-10 Thunderbolt II (albeit modified into a 2-seater) is ready to suppress ground forces while turning them into swiss cheese thanks to its gatling gun. The only downside, however, is the mobility at higher altitudes as it kinda handles like a boat with wings. Thankfully, it comes equipped with reinforced armor to compensate the shortcomings. As usual, Snorpy will be his WSO, especially due to the latter being prone to anxiety when piloting an aircraft even if he’s good at it.
Elizabert and Eggabell: SU-47 “Berkut” and SU-37 “Terminator”. Fittingly, they’ll be pretty much a dead ringer to AC6′s “Garuda Team” in addition to working together to take down targets: Either confusing the enemy by flying in synchronization or one of them acting as a bait while the other would pursue the target. Like “Gelb Team” from AC0, they’re equipped with specialized missiles that are fired backwards while sending them a lethal “No U”. Y’all may wonder how the hell did Liz got her paws on a prototype with forward-swept wings (presumably a fully-functional replica since only one real-life SU-47 was ever made before the actual project was cancelled). While Eggabell ain’t the sharpest tool in the shed, she’ll do the best to keep up with Liz as long the latter’s aircraft doesn’t let her down.
By the way, as a nod to the endgame, they’ll be known under the squadron name “Hydra Team”.
Alegander: Surprise, surprise! Considering his organization’s secrets were being revealed by the Journalist, the events have led him to snap to the point of becoming obsessed in taking down the latter (totally not a poor man’s equivalent of Project Wingman’s Crimson 1). In a similar vein to Anderi “Akula" Markov from AC: Assault Horizon (minus the game’s heavy scripting and plot armor), he’ll whip out a heavily refurbished SU-57 “Felon”. A cutting-edge stealth fighter which has excellent firepower, maneuverability, defense, speed and “quick maneuver air-to-air missiles” that will put a hell of a fight against any target. However, due to his age he can’t handle a such high amount of g-force while suffering from “greyout” when pushing his aircraft too hard.
“Yo Snorp-dawg, (you) still alive?”
