Watching Barbie showed me of how much I enjoy being a girl and all the things that come with it. It also reminded me that mom was also a girl at some point and that is beautiful.

Crying at the video of that dude going around asking poc and black folks if they could change their race, what would it be and every nb in that video we’re saying “white,” because of privilege with their whole chest, albeit, a little bit ashamed, while EVERY black person looked at the dude like he was crazy and was like “NO!? What the hell are you even talking about?” Like….. yeah, of course.

Things have been kinda rough recently
I also thought this song would fit Enojadita’s emotional state after the death of her brother, especially so close to her father’s death

Holy HECK we read your response to the asker about the POC vacker discourse and like... just WOW.
POC Vackers are lovely, coming from this white person! I wish all "I'm turning this canonically white character nonwhite" a very wonderful day.
Wow is an excellent way to put it, hard to articulate the jumble of frustration and bafflement and disappointment that hits you all at once!
But yes, the better thing to focus on out of all this is how lovely poc Vacker headcanons are! And other characters as well; the Vackers may be the most popular, but everyone diversifying the rest of the cast are amazing too! It's always so nice to see people expressing themselves, their culture, their experiences through the characters. Or discovering it through them, for those of us who have a significant disconnect and are trying to rediscover our heritage.
It's nice to be among so many supportive and creative people; this fandom isn't perfect, as nothing is, but its openness to such a variety of headcanons is a wonderful thing about it. Including different racial, ethnic, religious, queer identity, various disorders, etc. headcanons! This fandom is incredibly creative with the characters, and it's lovely to see.
Shout out to everyone contributing and enjoying that kind of expression!

just noticed something
it’s all “body positivity” until someone that’s on the skinnier side has their own complaints about their body. Fat shaming isn’t close to skinny shaming, I recognize that. But please at least think, “hm, is saying that I don’t believe that you eat a rude thing to say? Is it creepy to say how easy it would be to beat them up or kidnap them?” Think that and not, “you’re fucking skinny, you’ve been the beauty standard. You have no right to be upset when all I’ve been told was to look like you.”
I’ll be honest. Being told to eat a cheeseburger sucks, but it probably sucks less than a bigger person being told to eat a salad.

I just wanted to clarify that no Didi, Tommy and Dil isn't Black if anyone thought that they are Romani. They get it from Minka who is fully Romani so Didi is only part Romani

Havent seen the full context cause we as a fandom have spoke about that issue a million times, however in the hispanic community some girl was talking about how misogynistic hideo kojima ( and mgs obv ) can be. Thing is, the dudebros got really mad about it cause oh no, you cant point out certain stuff that bothers you.
You don't have to be very bright to know when game has its misogynistic undertones ( or straight up mysoginy lol ); having pretty female characters ( written by men ) doesnt mean X type of media is automatically a feminist masterpiece. How the fuck these grown men are mgs fans and cant even analyse something that basic? For fuck sake
And most posts on said side are just that bunch of shit over and over and over, having an open space for debate is always good in fandoms, but shit gets all fucked when people don't want to sit and listen. Its fucking tiring honestly.

🎵 It's Hispanic Heritage Month! (Good lord where did this month go...) I always have mixed emotions about it. On the one hand, I love it! I love seeing more of our culture in the public view, and I love seeing it celebrated! At the same time, I'm always hesitant to try to take part. I always feel like I'm not Latino enough. I'm super pale, because my mother's family is like that. Where I'm from, I've been asked on numerous occasions where somebody saw my last name for the first time if my husband is Mexican. I am not married, not even attracted to men, and my very Spanish last name comes from my Cuban father. I didn't learn Spanish as a kid because my mother didn't speak a word of it and my dad's Spanish is less than spectacular, due to that whole growing up as the child of immigrants and not wanting to be different thing. Which I can't blame him for. He was a kid. I'm learning it now, but it's tough. And any time I'm with his family, I feel like I'm only half there. I can understand a lot, but my speaking skills are awful. And when everybody's speaking Spanish or mostly-Spanish-Spanglish... it can be hard to keep up. And quite truthfully, more than the language barrier, my own feelings of inadequacy, of being "not Latino enough," have kept me from being fully a part of things. I'm Cuban-American and I'm proud of that! I just feel shut out of it sometimes.
So I want to wish all Latino and Hispanic folks a happy Hispanic Heritage Month, but especially the folks who feel isolated from their culture! You are Latino enough! You are Hispanic enough! Never let anybody tell you you're not. You deserve to be proud of who you are and where you come from!
