#honestly I used to go to the parks a lot but I wouldn't presently consider myself a superfan of disney or anything

Can I ask you to do a post about Disney & disability please? You mentioned it and I’d love to know more!
Well, my notifications can't get any messier, so why not?
This post got very, very long because I ended up talking about a lot of the accessibility solutions in detail (and... ranting about how accessibility at Universal was so bad that I got physically injured there) so I'm putting it under a cut for you.
To preface this, I have mobility issues (as well as a lot of food intolerances/allergies) and general chronic illness, my sister is Deaf, and I have friends who regularly attend the park with autistic family members with high support needs. These are the disabilities I have experience with, so while I've heard a bit about others (such as portable descriptive devices for visitors with visual impairments) I can't speak as much about those accommodations.
I have also traveled quite a bit, mostly as a disabled adult. I can work from anywhere and my family enjoys traveling, so I've been very lucky in this regard. I also used to live in central Florida, not too far from Disney, and benefited from their FL resident rates.
So I'm coming at this from a person who has a lot of experience traveling while disabled and a fair amount of experience going to WDW, though I haven't been nearly as often since I moved out of Florida.
(Good fucking riddance.)
So know that I am speaking from experience when I say I have never, without exception, been to a single place half as accessible as Walt Disney World. It is literally the reason my family would go there; it was one of the only places we could all safely go together. One of the only places I've been on earth that even approached their level of thoughtful accommodations is Barcelona, which apparently did significant renovations throughout the city in order to prepare for the 1992 Paralympics.
(Hey, if anyone is reading this from Barcelona: I teared up the first time I used one of your curb cuts in my wheelchair, just so you know.)
Going through those parks in a wheelchair is a breeze, though you will probably have to fight a lot of clueless parents with strollers who are hellbent on using resources intended for wheelchair-users and then glaring at you when you try to use them yourself. Level ground, spacious sidewalks, accessible transportation, well-kept gradual ramps, roomy buildings, lots of accessible restrooms, alternate entrances at many rides for wheelchair users, special wheelchair rows in movie theaters that we're loaded into first, accessible queues in most rides designed or renovated in the last fifteen years, special viewing areas for shows/parades/fireworks so you don't end up staring at able-bodied butts for a half hour...
Like, structurally-speaking, the parks are very easy to get around in if you're a wheelchair user. That was built in and you can see a lot of very mindful design choices. As far as the rides go, most of their rides actually have special cars that you can load into while still in a wheelchair. They're pretty neat. I can transfer, but that means often leaving my wheelchair and/or cane with a cast member during the ride. They are always, without fail, waiting for me on the other side of the ride, no matter how far the exit is from the entrance. I have never once had a problem with this. A cast member will be there to put my assistive devices in my hand before I even have to think about getting up. Guaranteed.
Wheelchair users always used to be able to skip the line, but there was unfortunately a problem with able-bodied people pretending to be disabled to skip lines (because god forbid they not have access to a single thing we have to make our lives livable) so now there's a system where if you cannot wait in a line, they'll basically give you a special time to come back that's equivalent to the length of the line. Which feels fair to me as someone who often cannot be in even an accessible line for extended periods. (I have problems with sunlight, heat, and often need emergency food or restroom.)
More important than all this, though, is the fact that cast members are impeccably well-trained in all of this. Any disabled person can tell you that the most accessible design on earth isn't worth shit if the people working there aren't well-trained. (More on this later, when I take a giant shit on Universal Studios.) But Disney trains their employees, many of whom are disabled themselves, incredibly well.
Every employee will know where the accessible entrances are. Every employee will know the procedure for getting a return time. Every employee will know about first-aid centers, and every employee will know where the quiet areas are for people with sensory issues. Every time you make a reservation for a meal, hotel room, transportation, etc. they will ask for all accessibility needs and they'll be ready for you.
Every waiter you have will be incredibly careful and knowledgeable when it comes to special dietary needs, and chefs will often come out to discuss them with you. They often have specific menus for different dietary needs, and they are scrupulous when it comes to allergens. I have a few intolerances that suck and allergies that could kill me and I have always felt very safe in their hands. This ranges from fancy sit-down restaurants to quick service burger places.
And -- honestly, I have just always been treated with respect. I know that sounds like a low bar, but most people do fail to clear it. Disney has their employees very well-trained on how to interact with disabled guests. People speak directly to me, never to the able-bodied people over my head. They never treat me like I'm a child. They never ask invasive questions or make uncomfortable jokes. They never, ever get impatient with my accessibility needs.
The few times I have misjudged things and have injured myself or gotten extremely ill, they were professional and caring as they provided much-needed first-aid. It's kind of embarrassing to be doted on by a costumed character while you wait for a doctor to come help you sit up again, but also kind of endearing, I'll admit.
They also, in addition to captioning all videos in the park, have some of the best sign language interpreters in the world, bar none. They're very personal and professional, they're easy to reserve, they will always be in a visible place during shows, and they're incredible performers as well as being very technically proficient. In addition to the professional interpreters, many cast members, performers, and characters can sign as well.
In addition to that, and this brings me to my next point, you'll meet a lot of disabled employees throughout the park. In front-facing positions. Deaf employees, employees using mobility aids, etc. They're well-known to hire disabled people and treat them well. This is. Fuck, this is incredibly rare, I say as someone who was never able to find a job in Florida with my health conditions. It's the moral thing to do to hire disabled people, but also -- selfishly, there's something so heartening and normalizing about seeing people who look like you working at the park. I'm happy every single time.
I have a little less personal experience when it comes to accessibility for neurodivergence, despite being neurodivergent myself, but I've been told that Disney is very, very accommodating for people on the spectrum. A lot is done to lessen crowding, waiting, sensory overload, etc. for autistic guests. Cast members are usually super good at this; finding designated quiet areas, helping autistic guests avoid more crowded areas, keeping them out of long lines, making sure they have access to any particular experiences that are special to them, etc.
For folks who need help from their group, whether that's an autistic child who needs to be with a parent or a disabled adult who needs someone to push their wheelchair or anything else, Disney has a rider switch-off model. In other words, if you're there with both of your able-bodied parents, for example, and you need one of them to be with you at all times and you don't want to be on the ride yourself, Disney will allow one person to go on the ride while the other waits for them to finish, then will allow the second person to go on without any additional wait. This makes sure that everyone in the family gets equal access without leaving disabled people alone. (Which... can be a very shitty feeling, I assure you.)
I know that Disney has also pioneered a lot of assistive technology. The accessible rides, obviously, which can be ridiculously cool (like Toy Story Midway Mania has an accessible car with alternative "guns" for people with dexterity limitations so they can play the carnival games as well) but also handheld assistive devices for visually impaired guests, etc. Like they are literally inventing new forms of accessibility technology, which is so cool.
And honestly, I'm always learning about new ways they assist disabled guests. I've stayed in Disney's accessible hotel rooms before (they're very nice!) but I don't like to swim so I've never been in the pools. But even just this week, someone told me that Disney has pool lifts for disabled guests, which I had never even considered. That's so cool.
The best part about accessibility at Disney is that in some ways it's very casual. A lot of their design decisions are so intuitive that you never even notice how accessible the parks are until you go somewhere where that's... not the case.
Like -- just so you don't assume that any of these things are industry standard, let me tell you about the two times I went to Universal, a park very close to Disney. I went there once for an event and once with my family.
The first time I went was for an event at the opening of the Harry Potter park. (This was before JKR made her most appalling views public, to be clear.) It... was frustrating. Guests asked if there would be food and drink available for people with special dietary restrictions (such as sugar-free butterbeer) and were pretty much told that no, that was not something they were interested in pursuing. It became very obvious very quickly that the park itself was so narrow that it only barely fulfilled ADA standards -- when empty. We were told that JKR had actually specifically insisted that it feel "cramped". Which is a nice way to say that I couldn't actually get around in any of the stores while people were in them.
It was overall a frustrating experience, but it was like. One night. I figured it was probably a fluke and they were still ironing out all the details. So I ended up going back with my parents later.
Y'all, it was a shit show.
Broken elevators that prevented disabled guests from accessing rides. Performers being up on raised platforms/sidewalks so disabled guests couldn't get to them. Sidewalks being made inaccessible by putting movable signs directly in the middle of them. Stores (even outside of the HP part) that were so damn narrow that I actually ended up getting hurt trying to navigate one of them. And no -- it was not easy to get first aid.
And my god, was the training bad. We went to one of the new HP rides, asked if there was a specific entrance for disabled guests. We were told no. We waited for a very long time in a line that honestly I shouldn't have been waiting in, but I wanted to be a good sport. I was pretty sick by the time we got through it, and the line itself had some very dangerous inclines/turns for wheelchair users. We get to the front of the line -- and the employee asks why we didn't just use the accessible entrance. 🙃
(Side note: several of their rides are also just unrideable if you don't fit within a pretty narrow body type of thin and able-bodied, so... there's that.)
We'd asked repeatedly and gotten incorrect answers, and I'd been put in physical danger as a result. Wild. I started to notice that if you asked different employees, you'd get different answers about almost anything, really. Just exceptionally poor training. Even stuff that should've been a no-brainer, like loading wheelchair users into a stationary movie theater, ended up creating chaos when they did it incorrectly and we had a giant wheelchair pileup.
Like -- let me stress to you that many of the things that happened could have caused actual injury to people. Some of these situations were dangerous. And some of them were just alienating, like when I'd have to wait outside a store while my family could go in.
I never went back after that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We just kept going to Disney.
One thing that'll probably show how good Disney is at accessibility is the whole Make-A-Wish thing. A lot of people know that it's a popular Make-A-Wish request, and you're likely to see at least a couple kids with Make-A-Wish buttons during your visit if you keep an eye out. One reason for this, is that, y'know, Disney World is fun. Kids want to go there. But more important, I think, is that Disney can accommodate people with at-times severe medical needs. Those kids can safely go anywhere and do anything in those parks that able-bodied kids can, and that's important.
All in all, the parks are just so accessible and you will never, ever be made to feel like you're lesser for needing those accommodations. You will be treated so well and you will not have to worry about accessibility because the cast members are always doing it for you. They'll usher you into the correct entrance as soon as they see a mobility device, and they'll do it with a very warm welcome. It's one of the very few places on earth where I have never felt like a burden.
Again, y'know, I know that Disney does not have a perfect track record on a lot of issues. I would never defend them from rightfully earned criticism. I strongly support labor action against them, and I do think they should be criticized whenever they fuck up. I have been uncomfortable with the sheer amount of power they have both in Florida and in the entertainment world just because no one should have that much power. But I am far more uncomfortable with that power being stripped away for blatantly discriminatory political reasons.
I do have some loyalty to Disney just because there is no other place on earth where I've been able to safely have fun with my friends with so little agony. That's... I mean, it's important, really. To be able to just exist in public without getting grief for it. And I have some loyalty to them because they were a safe space for me as a young, queer kid who was not safe being out in other areas of my life.
(Like, I am talking about actual literal safety. I kept seeing notes on my post saying that Disney didn't care about creating a "safe space for queer people" but as someone who lived in Florida for the entirety of my teenage years? It was the safest goddamn place there.)
I do not have enough loyalty to defend them when they do immoral bullshit, but I do have enough to make sure that people know the good that they do as well.
I want other businesses to follow Disney's model for disability. I will praise them forever for what they've done in that regard because if I don't, there's no reason for other companies to follow suit. I want to praise them for the good things they've done so they have incentive to keep doing it, and other companies have an incentive to do it as well.
Like bro, I just wanna be able to move around and be treated with some dignity, y'know? My bar is so low. lmao
But yeah. That's why you always see so many disabled guests at Disney. It's literally the only place some of us can go to have fun.

Companion post to the previous regarding Girouette and the Double Megamerge, though it goes more into differences between the one in ZX and that in Advent.
From Vent and Aile's perspective, while the double merge has given them the power to keep going, what they had to go through to get there is nothing short of horrible.
The ZX script straight-up tells us that they consider Girouettes' death their fault - Model Z does so, as well. We don't know anything about their dad so we can perhaps assume he was never in the picture, but either way, Giro's death now means that Vent and Aile have lost not one, but two very important parental figures in their lives. Sure, they've got a guiding force in Model X, but unlike Giro they've been matched with him for a week at most, and that bond hasn't been forged quite to that extent yet.
This is also at a point in their lives where they think finally, finally, they have exactly what they need to stop any more lives from being lost instead of being that helpless child they were at the theme park, so it's bitterly ironic that the moment they get the power to do this, they lose yet another parent.
The musical cues in the original ZX add an additional layer to it. On first playthrough, you wouldn't be likely to realise that Fragments, one of the "sadder" songs of the game which is present when Girouette dies, has the same melody as Snake Eyes, the theme of Slither Inc. HQ - interesting that they chose to use this theme instead of Metallic Soul, which is considered the theme of the Biometals and used during other sad moments of the game. Perhaps it's in direct reference to Serpent having a hand in Girouettes' death, the same way it's played right at the start of the game when Vent and Aile are talking about their deceased mum?
Either way, the one-two gut punch of that transition from Fragments to Trinity is powerful as hell; the fade out from Fragments leading into the bass line of Trinity lets you know there's some serious ass-kicking about to happen. Interestingly enough, the leitmotif of Trinity (that synthy bit) doesn't appear elsewhere in either ZX soundtrack; maybe in Rockin On if you squint really hard with the intro electric guitar It's honestly a damn shame because it's one of the coolest tracks in the game. Determined Eyes from Advent didn't allude to it either - but that theme is a whole other level of badass, so I'm not too fussed. Just would've been a really cool callback!
Anyhow, the title "Trinity" as well could not only be a reference to Vent/Aile and both Models X and Z, but could also be in reference to Girouette and the Biometals; those lending the protagonists their strength. The whole tone of the track and the way it's built up really gives you the feeling that something monumental and never-before-seen is about to happen.
It's also interesting to contrast the original in ZX to the Double Megamerge cutscenes in Advent.
In the first one, Vent/Aile look like they're visibly in pain from the strain of the merge, as you can see:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then they emerge triumphant from it - the pain, the sorrow has now given them the fuel and determination to carry on and become "a hero who can protect everyone." The framing of the scene, coupled with the soundtrack, is iconic and powerful as hell, particularly the shots of the helmet crystal and the hair spreading out like angel wings behind them - both of which are homaged in Advent.
Tumblr media
I also like that Advent brought back Metallic Soul and not Fragments for the scene leading up to it. That theme feels a lot more like Vent and Aile's this time around, and hits a lot more poignantly than Fragments would in my opinion. Now if only they'd brought back Rockin On as the boss theme... Advent as a whole could've done a better job of tying into ZX to be quite honest.
As for the scene itself, I know the original in ZX is practically identical for Vent and Aile, but as I've noted previously, they both visibly look like they're in massive pain when they perform the merge for the first time. (It's also never explained why there's an energy surge that kills the mavericks afterwards, although it's super awesome - maybe Models X and Z channelled any excess power from the merge outwards to avoid killing Vent/Aile from too much energy?)
Advent contrasts this for them both, although more so in Aile's case than Vent's. Aile's is obviously a clear homage to magical girl anime, but she looks relaxed pretty much the whole way through, laughing and smiling at X and Z's cyberelves at the start and her joyful expression doesn't really disappear right until the end when she's confronting Grey. Vent's merge hints maybe that he's still in some pain, based on that yell he lets out - but it comes across less like a yell of pain and more like a kiai, feeling incredibly powerful. His scene gives off the feeling that not only has he grown into the responsibility and power that comes with wielding both Biometals, but he also utterly owns it now. Honestly, I don't think I'll ever get over how well-done the snappiness and timing of Vent's scene is.
On a mildly related tangent, though it is nice to see how happy Aile is during the merge in Advent, I will forever be annoyed that her scene doesn't feel as impactful as Vent's. It feels long and unnecessarily drawn out; yes I understand it's a contrast to the original in ZX and yes I understand it's supposed to be a magical homage, but not once (to me, anyways) does it feel to me that "this is the hero who saved the world four years ago."
Not even when we get the iconic helmet crystal forming, or the shot with the hair spread out like great seraph wings.
I mean come on, you're going to compare this from Aile's:
Tumblr media
With this, from Vent's?
Tumblr media
You did Aile dirty, Capcom.
You did Aile dirty.
(Disclaimer, while Vent is my favourite of the duo, Aile has a special place in my heart as she was who I used during my very first playthrough of ZX, and I'm honestly annoyed they chose to focus more on fanservice than anything else when she showed up in Advent. She so deserved better.)

Who in your family has been married the longest? (and how long?)
My maternal grandparents but I'm not sure how long they've been married. At least 50 years.
Do you have any Eastern European ancestry?
Not that I know of. But I wouldn't be surprised if I have some Russian ancestry since I'm Finnish and a lot of my family is from the eastern parts close to the border.
Where is your car parked right now?
I don't have a car.
When did you last travel alone? Where were you going?
I went to Helsinki by train to meet my friend since she lives there.
Do you take your shoes off when you come inside?
Yep.
What’s your favorite movie series?
I like the Back To The Future-trilogy and the Indiana Jones-movies.
How are you feeling today?
I feel fine. I had a boring day but I'm in a good mood. I had a nice christmas and spent time with my family.
Look to the right - what’s the first thing you see?
My water bottle on the nightstand.
^^ What does that thing remind you of?
It reminds me of drinking water. I started tracking my water consumption few months ago and in the beginning I realized how little water I drink daily, even though I thought I was drinking enough. At first it was hard adding more water into my daily consumption because it felt like I was drinking all the time and I had to use the bathroom a lot more but I've gotten used to it now. My skin has gotten better and my hair is so much healthier anddd I love it.
What was the first color you ever dyed your hair?
I died my hair light brown/dark blonde when I was 13.
What is something that’s considered a luxury, but you wouldn’t want to live without?
A phone.
Do you want to move anytime soon?
Not really. I've thought about moving but I not super seriously. The rents here have increased so much and I've been really lucky to have this exact apartment. Like there's apartments that are half the size of mine, in shitty condition and in not-so-good parts of the town and the rents are like 200euros more than mine.
Did you have coffee this morning?
Not in the morning but I had two cups during the day.
How good/bad was the quality of education you received in high school?
It was good. I mean I don't have anything to compare it to but I know that my country has one of the best education systems in the world so I don't want to take it for granted.
What was the most interesting year of your life, and why?
I feel like the last 8-ish years of my life haven't been interesting at all. I'd say the year 2014 was "interesting" but not in a good way since that's the year my health went to shit and a bunch of things happened.
What was the first social media site you ever used?
Maybe Facebook. I was 13 and my friends told me to create a profile there so I did. I deleted it like a year later since I never used it and I honestly felt embarrassed because I didn't have many friends there.
Do you have any exes you really regret dating?
I have one ex and I don't regret dating him.
What brand of laundry detergent do you use?
I think the brand is called Neutral.
Are you prone to mood swings?
Yes.
Have you ever lied on a resume? Or even in a job interview?
Not really but I've overexaggerated in a job interview a bit. But I feel like that's kind of what you want to do lol.
Of all your friends & family, who has the most nicely-decorated home?
My paternal grandpa but I haven't been to his house actually in a looong time. But he has some designer stuff in his home that look fancy.
What was the last thing you bought, other than food?
I bought presents for my family and my friend.
Do you smoke? Or vape?
I don't.
What are you dreading right now?
January.
What brought about the end of the worst relationship you’ve been in?
I haven't had a bad relationship.
Where was the last place you spent the night other than your own home?
The hotel in Cyprus last summer.
Do you have any step- or half-siblings?
Nope.
Have you ever been catcalled?
Few times yes.
How old were you when you started scheduling your own doctors appointments?
When I moved to live on my own, so I was 20.
Have you ever driven across an international border?
I don't drive myself but I've been on some road trips to northern Sweden and Norway with my family.
When was the last time you spoke to a neighbor?
I don't speak to my neighbors lol.
Is your best friend male or female?
Female.
When was the last time you washed your bed sheets?
Last week.
What do people always seem to think is weird about you?
I'm quiet and reserved.
Ever notice how high schools in movies/tv shows are portrayed way differently than in real life?
Yeah, but it's pretty reasonable. They want the shows and movies to be interesting. Real life high school life isn't that fun. < yeah exactly.
Do you ever braid your hair?
No I'm not good at braiding my own hair.
What food sounds the most appetizing right now?
Nothing, I'm tired and want to go to sleep :)

Let's Talk New Skill Ideas!
Here I'm gonna give my thoughts on the nitty gritty on what some new skills could mean for osrs including what they mean mechanically and how realistic some community ideas would be.
Buckle up this is gonna be a deep dive.
Sailing
Sailing has a lot of really great qualities in a new skill; It has a really strong fantasy, history with the game, the osrs team has worked on ideas with it before, and the appeal of it would probably bring more people to the game. THE PROBLEM however is that I think a lot of community leaders have already hung their hat on it when honestly their ideas for what it would mechanically add to the game are either really weak or downright impossible.
The mechanics that come up most are as follows;
Access to new locations/means of travel.
Free Movement across water.
Random explorable islands.
These ideas are honestly all fine but I think they raise a lot of issues in osrs specifically. Access to new areas is an especially unappealing idea considering that when new areas get added there's usually already something we do to get access to them, making that new requirement Sailing sort of just relegates the whole skill to being the "new region unlocker." Not only that but if this was one of Sailing's tentpoles it would mean that new areas would have to be added to make it appealing, which increases the amount of work needed to add the skill to the game considerably. Allowing Sailing to be used to go ports already in the game is also sort of unnappealing because getting around the current map is honestly not that hard asside from some weird corners of kourend and charter ships already connect pretty much every port. I think if this network of mobility didn't already exist it would be more appealing but I don't think people would vote to remove charter ships.
Free Movement Across Water is basically impossible without massive concessions. There's no way in the game's engine to allow a player to move freely on another moving vehicle, so at any given time the player or ship could not be an actor. Not only that but the actual waterways of gielinor are pretty cramped. Trying to navigate a ship around karamja crandor and entrana would be less like sailing the open seas and more like driving through a crowded parking lot. Not only have people suggested movement over the ocean but actually pvp sea battles which just.... OOPH.
And then of course we come to "random islands" AKA dungeoneering of the seas. This doesn't work in the same way Dungeoneering doesn't work. It'd be too self sufficient, isolated from the rest of the game, and sort of be nothing more than a really complex minigame. Plus if these islands did have competitive training methods for other skills that would just draw people away from other skilling methods and wouldn't really be "Sailing" content.
I DO wish sailing would work though, cause it is a fun fantasy with a lot of potential to introduce cool content but I don't think it compels me outside of this. But I do like a challenge, so I've tried to figure out how sailing the seas of gielinor would work.
Tumblr media
so instead of sailing the actual oceans, what if when you began a sea voyage would be presented with an ocean map where you move a tiny version of your ship around like your character. In this world you can either just move your boat to the place you're trying to go while avoiding storms, sea monsters, and maybe players (if you're on a voyage to a wilderness port) or you can check out some of the islands that spawn in. When you move your ship to an island it loads out of this map and into the map for the island which gives you back control of your character, you may then explore the island with others players who have also landed there. While they wouldn't be rich with an infinite amount of resources the island would have a puzzle, treasure hunt, or enemy you could overcome for a bit of bonus Sailing experience.
There would also be encounters on your ship, but if you ran into a monster or enemy player on the open ocean it loads up a map of your ship your character can move around on, giving you the ability to get in personal with ocean combat.
If you're defeated on the open seas you're washed back by the docks you set off from and need to repair your ship before you set off again. If you reach your destination you get a bit of Sailing exp with a bit of bonus experience for each obstacle you overcame as well as a bonus if it's your first time traveling to that port.
By having the majority of sailing be these repeatable but interactive adventures that involve you and other characters it would hopefully feel less like a minigame and be a little less reliant on big new set pieces. I don't totally love this idea however.
Summoning (& Other Familiar Skills)
I have A TON of nostalgia for summoning. 2008-2010 was honestly my favorite runescape era as a kid and a big reason why I didn't get into osrs back in 2013 is because i liked late rs2 additions like summoning so much that I wasn't super interested in a game without them. Unfortunately I just don't think Summoning in any form will work with OSRS, the mechanics up for offer just introduce a cataclysmic amount of power creep. Even ideas proposed to make the skill less op sort of either show how op it is or just nerf it to the point of not feeling necessary.
There is however a VERY good use for Summoning and that's LEAGUES. Assuming a lot of the code for Summoning is in the 2007 backup already or could be taken from rs3's code, a league that parties like it's january 2008 could be pretty cool. Since it's a league the brokenness of summoning could be turned up to max and everyone would get to have their nostalgic fun with summoning again. I also think familiars don't need an entire skill devoted to them to make it into the game. I think letting thralls be summoned with magic is a good substitute for combat familiars and I think some of the more unique familiars could be implemented through letting a hunter catch them. Imagine if a Hunter could go catch a Barker Toad for use as a slightly weaker but less inventory space intensive alternative of the dwarf cannon? That's got my vote.
Engineering/Tinkering
I think the fantasy of an engineering skill would be a good way to fill out the runescape skill offerings, however I really haven't seen any suggested implementations of it I liked in the slightest. A lot of it seems to boil down to "automate other skills" which doesn't feel like a necessary addition to the game in any form. The other feature these skills often have is modifying your weapons, which I really don't want to see in OSRS. I like that weapons are quickly identifiable for what they do, I don't really want to see WoW style enchantments in Runescape.
I do think the fantasy of these skills could be used well though. Making new automated weapons like the dwarf multicannon but with other features and combat styles is fun. Making wacky weapons like hand cannons, hydraulic gauntlets, or steampunk shit would have a lot of charm, but I don't think any one of these ideas requires a whole skill to be added to the game, any of these items could just be made with combination Crafting, Smithing, and Runecraft.
Bard
This one had a massive suggestion post on the osrs reddit, so big that I didn't bother reading all of it. It does seem like a fun idea! I like the idea of being able to play an instrument to buff other players and maybe do some training with performance and whatever. Honestly my biggest complaint is the suggestion I saw was very menu heavy. A lot of people don't really think about it too much but runescape is a pretty menu light game, there aren't a ton of things you do that require you to constantly look at a menu, and I quite like it that way.
So having something like bard duels trap you in a minigame menu just feels disruptive to a gameplay cycle I like. I think finding a way to do this with just the items in your inventory and maybe the combat tab would make it a better fit but this is an idea I could potentially see myself voting for.
Riding
In runescape's engine it's impossible for a creature to not be a square collision box.
Good. Fucking. Luck.
Inscription
Okay here's an idea I really love but wasn't blown away with the suggested means of training. I really like the idea of making scrolls, blessings, and tomes. It's very flexible but really the thing that made me want inscription were THESE BAD BOYS.
Tumblr media
Imagine Inscribing a new card throwing weapon that could either be thrown for range or used to cast spells with magic. The cards could be inscribed with Catalytic Runes, throwing 1 death card would let you cast a spell without spending its death rune cost. It wouldn't be infinite like staves but it'd be another way to move runes out of your inventory and into your hands.
Unfortunely my big issues with this suggestion is that it seems like a bit of a bankstanding (or lectern standing) skill which I'm pretty tired of, it's selling itself as an item sink for all items, and honestly I think a lot of what it's suggesting could just be done with combination RC/Crafting/Herblore.
I really think people should quit trying to sell their skill ideas as the end all be all item sink. I don't think crushing up various items is strong skill fantasy and if the weight of item sinking is placed entirely on one skill it means that an effective reduction in the population of items needed to be removed will only make the skill more difficult/expensive to train. Item sinks should be healthily spread out across the game.
I think a better way to train would be to place opportunities to inscribe in the world. such as restoring old writings in books or paintings, or maybe even doing some magical grafiti. The skill could still be an item sink but i think mostly just for herbs that aren't valued much by herblore.
Another Combat Skill
This is something I've seen basically no one suggest cause I think everyone is too afraid of how much it would shake up the game but I do think there could be a pretty big benefit to adding a new combat skill. It'd be something new to get gear for, another stat to potentially build around, it would be immediately applicable in large areas of the game. I don't think it's the best idea but I think people undervalue what it could bring to the table. The idea I had when trying to come up with any possible new combat skill was PSYCHIC, which would be strong against magic users in the same way magic is strong against melee armor.
Tumblr media
The skill would be shorter range than ranged or magic, designed to really punish magic users who let you in too close and in prolonged fights they would build up special effects through Mantras to use against your enemy. It also wouldn't have a cost consuming resource like ranged or magic in exchange for being shorter range, but the defense of the gear would be a lot lower on average than melee gear.
The problem I have with my own idea here is it adds another "meter" to the game which I'm sort of against and also just god knows the reaching effect of adding a new combat style would be.
Foraging
I've seen this a few times and honestly while it does make a lot of sense I think it just doesn't really have a strong enough fantasy to entice anyone to vote for it. It would probably be a good skill for osrs to have already had, but not one that stands out as one to add. Especially as it mostly seems like another mining style gathering skill but with resources already found in game. I think the forestry update will cover the fantasy of this one.
Artisan's Revenge
I've seen some small support for implementing Artisan. Honestly I don't dislike Artisan but I think it could probably just be used as a way to add a new training method for Crafting. Just have all the Artisan crafted things be untradeables that use more intensive materials, hell use THIS as the item sink and break down jewelry and gear into components.
Just add Artisan Crafters to the game who give you Crafting Tasks but make it just a Crafting training method with crafting rewards. done and done.
My Ideas
Here are the other mock ups I did for brainstorming. The first is Astronomy which fleshes out the Shooting Star system to have a related skill and more stars to find.
Tumblr media
I'm pretty fond of this one as being a skill rich with fantasy and not having much overlap with pre-existing skills but idk how much people will want to train by doing hot-cold clues and finding shooting stars.
The other idea I had was just.... make an osrs version of Archaeology cause it's fun.
Tumblr media
Issue with Archaeology is I think it'd be sort of a bummer to just add an idea from rs3. It is a good idea though, honestly as someone who enjoys skilling I think Archaeology is almost the perfect skill aside from the rs3 bullshit sprinkled around it. (I am really proud of Fragmental though)
Despite a lot of problems I have with these suggestions I think the osrs team could turn almost any of them into a good skill, so I'm hopeful for the future. My biggest hope right now is jagex pitches us something we haven't though of yet cause I do feel pretty lukewarm on a lot of these ideas.
I think in order of my desire to vote for them I'd place them...
Archaeology
Sailing
Inscription
Summoning
Bard
Foraging
Whatever the rest were idc I've been writing this so long.

All the Self Insert Lore asks with your Slenderverse s/i???
you got it!! lord knows i need to flesh them out more anyway. thank you for the ask!!
1. what are the basics of your self insert? name, date of birth, height, etc.?
their name is ash lucas, they were born december 19 (a constant for my s/is, it's my actual birthday) in the year [insert whatever year would make me around the right age to have worked on kralie's marble hornets in college/whatever year would make me 18-19 around the time emh started]. they're 5'7" and haven't been in the same room as a numerical scale in years because of the standard psychological effects of being a fat person in a fatphobic society. they have blue eyes and shaggy black hair and dress like they've been living in the unsold merchandise dumpster out back of a hot topic.
2. when in canon does your self insert come in? do you have a scene in mind for your entrance?
so the mh version of them makes a few appearances in season one during the old footage of alex's movie--probably the first scene we ever see of them is them coming back to the filming location after running down to the dollar general to get a case of water to keep everyone hydrated during filming (since that was kind of their role, was to be a runner who went and got stuff like water or batteries for the camera or, in the later days, more tapes). just them hauling in a case of water and making a joke. their first appearance in the present footage (at least, the first where the viewers are aware it's them) is them bumping into jay in the parking lot of the store they work at, pausing, and saying, "did we go to school together? i swear i know you." (they, like most of the other people involved in the student film, don't remember most of what happened)
the emh version of them has their own slenderverse bullshit going on and their first appearance is probably not even in person, they just make a cameo during a ustream as like a voice/video call or something.
3. how do the other characters generally feel about your self insert?
in both cases they're mostly just like "well. they seem nice. they're weird but honestly who wouldn't be in a situation like this."
4. would you be considered a main character, side character, villain, or something else?
side character (with a side order of "mysterious wildcard" for their masked persona) who eventually takes a level in main character in mh, hero of another story (but increasingly important to this one!) in emh.
5. does your self insert have any special powers or abilities?
they do not.
6. does your self insert have any pets?
they don't but they sure would like to get one. in mh post-canon they and tim eventually get a dog.
7. would any other characters (besides your f/o) have a crush on your self insert?
in emh? no. in mh, due to a dream i had a while back, i've decided that jay did at one point but he got over it by the time the series actually takes place.
8. what is your self insert’s orientation?
they are biromantic asexual!
9. who are your self insert’s closest friends?
mh ash is really close to brian and jay and eventually jessica (and they also work with amy so they have some Workplace Camaraderie with her), emh ash is good friends with jeff and alex (vinny i feel kind of keeps them at arm's length but they get along still)
10. how do the other characters feel about your self insert and f/o’s relationship?
either they're for it because they're friends with at least one party or they're trying to kill everyone involved and don't give a shit about any romantic entanglements except as things to be used against us.
11. what kind of outfit(s) does your self insert wear?
they dress like a middle school mall goth despite being an adult
12. how would the fandom view your character?
they would either love them because they're silly and chaotic or hate them because they're annoying or because they get with the most popular male character in each ser--[remembers what fandoms were like in the late aughts-early tens] They Would Hate Them.
13. does your self insert have any information about their family?
not especially defined information, i feel like. a hypothetical viewer would learn almost nothing about ash's family other than that they do have parents.
14. what hobbies does your self insert have?
they like video games and parkour! i do not do parkour in real life but it's a skill i'm interested in learning.
15. how does your self insert play a role in the plot of the story? do they help directly defeat the villain, support the heroes, etc.?
they help the hybrids with finding some pieces of the puzzle (and eventually join up with them on the Big Gay Everyone Lives Road Trip AU), and in mh they help jay and tim out in various ways (some of which the guys are not aware they did) as well as serve as a sort of living reminder of just how far alex crossed the line (because part of why they don't remember the student film is because during the point where he was "tying up loose ends" he tried to do the same thing he did to that poor trail guy to them)
16. freebie! name a fact about your self insert you want everyone to know.
i say this a lot but their emh iteration's (lol) slenderverse bullshit is based on a real local legend in the town i grew up in about a tall, well-dressed, and (unlike the Man himself) friendly ghost man who haunts the local cemetery.

Mama || Leticia "Letty" Cruz
Tumblr media
(GIF: @angels-reyes)
A/N: This was created because I've seen some speculation that Letty may not make it to the end of Season 3 (😭🥺). My mind needed something fluffy to combat this and so this piece came about. Apologises for grammatical errors and please let me know if the Spanish translation needs correcting.
Characters/Pairing(s): Letty x Reader (mother-daughter relationship) ▪︎ Coco x Reader (mention) ☆ Mayans MC (brief mention) ▪︎ OCs (receptionist, mother and son duo)
Summary: Just a mother protecting her daughter.
Warnings: brief mention of altercation (male and female), description of injuries, fluff, language, nicknames, painkillers (reference to injury)
Word Count: 1755
- ♤ - ♡ - ◇ - ♧ -
(Y/N) couldn't believe how busy the roads leading to the local high school were. It was a Wednesday, a little after ten and the streets were just packed with cars. She thought it was ridiculous considering people were usually at their jobs and children were in their age appropriate schools. There was no reason for people to be out and about.
"The light's been green for five seconds!" she yelled and honked her horn, "move!" The driver in front gave her the finger before taking off, "you're so fucking lucky I've got somewhere to be, asshole!" she called out as she drove in the opposite direction.
When her phone rang during her break, the last person (Y/N) expected to hear from was the receptionist for Santo Padre High School. According to the woman, Leticia (Letty as she was mostly referred to) had been in an altercation with another student and her parents or caregivers were requested to come and meet with the principal. Rachel, the receptionist, mentioned trying to reach her father but going straight to voicemail. With (Y/N) being listed as an emergency contact she was called.
(Y/N) immediately asked about Letty, but was told that specific details couldn't be discussed over the phone. She found that odd, but accepted it (for the time being) and informed Rachel that she would be there as quickly as she could. After hanging up, she grabbed her belongings and told her manager she had a family emergency to attend to. She was cleared and (Y/N) informed him that she would be taking a week off as well and would keep them updated on her situation.
From the moment she received the call to the time she pulled up in front of the high school, her thoughts revolved around Letty. Being with Coco for several years allowed (Y/N) to gain some insight to the type of life he had been subjected to. Through a lot of tears, constant reassurance and love (Y/N) was able to break through his tough exterior and get him to believe she was in it for the long haul. When (Y/N) was told by him about his daughter being in a similar environment to what he was in growing up, she demanded him to bring her home.
The second she laid eyes on Letty she saw Coco's features and personality shine through. (Y/N) didn't expect the teenager to respect or trust her right off the bat, but she made sure to let her know that she was here if she needed someone to talk to and gave her space. With every door slam, harsh comment and glare sent her way, (Y/N) continued being herself and showed Letty she wasn't a threat. It was challenging, especially when Coco left on runs, but she pushed through. Eventually the teenager began to accept her father's girlfriend without second guessing her.
(Y/N) stepped into the main office and found a woman standing beside a teenage boy, who held some paper towels to his nose and had a couple of scratches on his face. She moved closer and realised the pair were towering over Letty who sat in the corner and was looking down at her lap. Clenching her jaw, she strode over to the trio.
"Get the fuck away from my daughter!" she glared at the duo and turned around to Letty, who was now standing, "mi niña, are you okay?" she kissed her forehead and cupped her cheeks, "Leticia?"
The teenager nodded, "uh… y-yeah, I'm fine," she went to move (Y/N)'s hands but winced, "completely fine."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened at the state of Letty's hands. They were most likely bruised and what shocked her even more was that there was no ice-pack beside her seat. The boy clearly had been given assistance, but her baby girl hadn't and that pissed her off.
"Rachel!" she called out and a woman appeared around the corner, "you're the one who called me right?"
"Yes."
"And, you said you couldn't go over specific details of what happened over the phone?"
"That's correct."
(Y/N) nodded and gestured towards Letty's hands, "well I'm here now and would like an explanation on why my daughter hasn't been treated and that young man has?" When the mother tried to give a reason, she raised a hand in her face, "this doesn't concern you, this conversation is between Rachel and I."
Rachel gulped and could feel the anger radiating off of (Y/N), "well… uh, he was bleeding and –"
"Were there other staff members present?" she asked and when she was given a nod, she continued, "why couldn't they have provided medical assistance to my daughter?"
"She… didn't tell us she was hurt, ma'am, she said she was fine so –"
"Bitch do her hands look fine to you?"
The mother scoffed, "at least we know where your daughter gets her attitude from."
(Y/N) turned to her, "shut up, nobody asked for your ass to speak," she gestured towards her son, "the reason your son's looking like a fucked up tomato is completely justified I can vouch for that."
"Are you kidding me?" She shrieked and pointed to his face, "he's most likely got a broken nose and there's scratches on his face!"
"Exactly, be glad my daughter didn't have a screwdriver on her." (Y/N) replied and almost laughed at the disbelief on the woman's face, "your son deserved every scratch, bruise and possible broken bone."
"Excuse me!?"
(Y/N) ignored her and turned back around to face Rachel, "Letty and I will be leaving now."
"Mrs Fraser hasn't seen –"
"My main concern right now is my daughter's well-being," she told her, "and you've got my details on file so I'm sure Mrs Fraser can contact me at a later date."
Rachel spoke again, "please if you'd just –"
"No."
(Y/N) picked up Letty's bag and walked over to the desk, with Letty trailing behind her. She quickly signed out on the tablet and the pair walked out of the building. Reaching her car, (Y/N) unlocked it and helped Letty into the passenger seat. Closing her door, she rushed to the driver's side and got in.
She helped Letty buckle up, before buckling herself in, "everything okay, sweets?"
"Yeah… uh, thanks." was the response she received, before she started up the car and pulled out of the school parking lot while explaining where they were off to next.
-- ♡ -- ◇ --
"He's always talking shit," Letty explained to (Y/N) about the guy in the office, "it was about time someone shut him up."
"And you were the person to do so?"
She shrugged her shoulders, "he ran his mouth and then touched me, so I beat his ass."
"Two for one special?"
"Pretty much."
(Y/N) chuckled, "when your hands heal up, we'll ask one of the guys to teach you a few moves in the ring, thankfully your hands are just bruised and not broken."
"They still hurt like a bitch."
"You've got another two hours before you can drink some more painkillers."
"What would've happened if Coco answered the phone?" Letty questioned.
(Y/N) shook her head, "honey, I don't even think I wanna know what would've happened," she noticed the teen wince, "are you okay?"
"Yes."
"Are you sure?"
She huffed, "I'm fine, okay? I was fine when you picked me up. I was fine when we went to the doctor's office. I was fine at the grocery store and I was fine the last time you asked me."
(Y/N) nodded and pulled into their driveway, putting the car in park, "I'm not gonna apologise about asking how you're feeling. I'm just – I just want to make sure you're okay. But, now I'll stop because I can see I'm annoying you."
"Yeah, you are."
She chuckled, "okay, I'll stop, but you'll tell –"
Letty sighed, "yes, I'll tell you. You really take this parenting thing seriously. I mean… you've been referring to me as your daughter all day and I–I'm not. But you defended me –"
"And I always will."
" – against Kyle, his mum and even the receptionist. I–I've never had that before. And, even at the doctor's office you made sure I was seen by a female because you knew it'd make me more comfortable."
"Letty?"
"You treat me like I'm yours and you called me your daughter and I… I don't know, I just," she took a deep breath, shook her head and looked out of the window.
(Y/N) waited for her to continue, but she didn't. Thinking back on today's events, she realised she had referred to Letty as her own. She had been doing it in her mind for so long and didn't realise she had said it out in the open. Letty had heard her reference and it seemed to make her uncomfortable and that was something she vowed she wouldn't do.
"When I started dating your dad he told me about the kids he had. He told me that he wasn't involved in their lives because being away from them was for the best. I asked him what would happen if one day a kid reached out and his response was "if they do, they do. I ain't gonna turn them away", (Y/N) spoke up, "and then you reached out, sweetums. You reached out and your dad took that as a sign. From the moment you entered our lives, it's been a whirlwind of emotions. We're not this picture perfect family, but we're our own version. Despite being almost an adult, Coco still views you as his baby girl. And, honestly, I've been viewing you the same way."
Letty sniffed and looked up, "really?"
"Absolutely, gorgeous. The moment you stepped through that door you became mine as well," (Y/N) pointed at the front door of their home, before turning to her, "but that doesn't matter if you're not okay with it. I'm not trying to force you to be –"
"I'm Coco's daughter," she cut in and smiled at (Y/N), "and now I'm yours too."
(Y/N) beamed with joy and unbuckled her seatbelt, and Letty's, reaching over the middle console to bring the teen into her arms. Letty wrapped her arms around (Y/N), breathing in her (scent). The woman chuckled and kissed her cheek, "I love you, baby girl."
Letty pulled her closer, "I love you too, mama."

★☆ AN: So, this prompt is dedicated to anyone attracted to nerds and science. Look I’m terrible at chemistry so I made Kuroo a jack of all trades while still being ace at chemistry. Also, thanks to @succulent-momma and @drabbles-blurbs-words for editing this for me.
★☆ Summary: It’s not Kuroo’s fault, not really. It’s not his fault that every time he opened his mouth to talk like that you just wanted to throw yourself at him.
★☆ Warning: Explicit sex, Size Kink, and Rough sex. Read at your own discretion. Kuroo x Fem Reader.
★☆ ★☆ ★☆ ★☆ ★☆ ★☆
Kuroo considered himself fairly handsome and was well-liked by most people. Except by his teammates who nicknamed him "demon captain". And of course, Kenma who would frequently throw some jabs his way. But he was nice to girls. In fact, he was a gentleman to every girl he met, only accompanied by mild playful teasing when the moment required it. Most girls, in his humble opinion, wanted his attention and frankly desired to date him. Except for Y/N.
He would never forget that particular day in 2nd year when she turned him down in front of his team. Kuroo and Kenma were heading home after volleyball practice accompanied by Yaku and Yamamoto, who were heading out as well.
Kuroo, noticing Y/N, called out, "Y/N-chan!"
Y/N turned around to see Kuroo waving at her, to which she only frowned in return.
"So, Y/N-chan, when are you going to take up on my offer of going on a date soon?"
"Over my dead body," she murmured before flouncing away.
Yaku had burst out laughing, enjoying Kuroo's embarrassment. Yamamoto tried to spare his senpai's feelings knowing the pain of being rejected all too well. But it was just too satisfying to watch smug Kuroo get turned down. Yamamoto collapsed in howling fits. Kuroo could even see Kenma hiding a smirk underneath his long bangs while trying and failing to look absorbed in his PSP.
She perplexed the hell out of him. He didn't understand where he went wrong with Y/N. In fact, she only displayed uninterest most of the time he attempted to talk to her.
★☆ ★☆
However, he finally started making headway in his third year. Y/N, lo and behold, was in his class. Making it easier for him to talk to her. She was resistant to his efforts at first, but one particular day she let her guard down.
"Y/N-chan, how did you do on your chemistry test?" he inquired, looking at his 98.
He could feel her glare, and so Kuroo looked up to shoot a smirk at her.
"An 85. Probably better than your score," she huffed.
"Not today, sweetheart. Looks like I win." He sat back in his chair and radiated smugness.
Y/N leaned over from her chair to look at his score, and he could see her eyes widen in shock.
"How? You had two practice matches this week against rival schools back to back! When did you get the time to study?" Y/N blurted out.
"I'm flattered you know so much about my schedule."
She avoided eye contact and cleared her throat. "Don't get it twisted. It's hard not to know when that's all you've talked about for two weeks."
Kuroo's smirk just got bigger. "And here I thought you don't listen to poor old me. I'm smarter than you think I am. I don't need to study a lot to get adequate grades."
Y/N seemed a bit incredulous.
"Then why isn't your rank higher?" she challenged.
"Well, we can't all be ranked second like you. But you're right. My rank could be better if I tried more. But I don't need to because my grades just have to be good enough to play volleyball and get into a decent university. It's not like I'm going to be a doctor."
Y/N stared at him for a moment before requesting if she could look at his test to see what she did wrong. Kuroo shrugged and gave it to her.
He could feel Y/N's inquisitive gaze on him the rest of the day. But every time he turned to see, her long dark hair hid her face. It was puzzling, to say the least.
As the bell rang and he was about to leave for volleyball practice, Y/N stopped him.
"Kuroo, next time there's a chemistry test can we study together?" she asked him almost shyly.
A bit dazed by her request, he only nodded, to which she responded with, "great! See you tomorrow."
  ★☆ ★☆
Days began to fly by with Y/N still somehow talking to him, their topics ranging from academic to inane intellectual discussions.
"Ne Kuroo, do you think there's any truth to Jurassic Park? Like theoretically, can we bring back dinosaurs?" she asked him one morning after biology.
He blinked at the question and put his mechanical pencil down. Y/N reminded him too much of a particular beanpole dinosaur enthusiast in that moment.
"Not really. Because think about it, not only would we need to have a perfect DNA replica to duplicate, meaning the bullshit explanation from the movie of filling the missing DNA structures with DNA from modern species wouldn't work. But we would also need to recreate the environment these creatures thrived in. The current Earth right now is colder than they're used to. Then we would also have to recreate the same food sources. These dinosaurs didn't evolve to eat grass or cows. Plain and simple, they wouldn't survive."
Y/N's face brightened. "Exactly! Oh, and did you see the new dinosaur they discovered in Hokkaido? It's called Kamuysaurus. It's a different species of Hadrosaurid." She continued enthusiastically explaining to him what made the Kamuysaurus different from other Hadrosaurid species. It was kind of boring, to be honest; he wasn't much of a dinosaur fan, but he listened intently, feeling satisfied knowing that Y/N's attention was solely on him.
   ★☆ ★☆
The next week as Kuroo was walking home with Kenma, he noticed Y/N going inside a bookstore.
"Kenma, I'm going to go ahead, alright?" Kuroo said as he watched Y/N curiously.
Kenma looked up to see Kuroo staring at Y/N. "She's just going to yell at you again."
"Don't worry; I got it handled. See you tomorrow." Without waiting to hear his childhood friend's response, Kuroo ran to catch up to her before she left the store.
The store's bell jingled, and an employee welcomed him inside. He walked around for a bit before finally finding Y/N in the back, intensely reading a book. He walked up behind her and placed his hand on her shoulder.
Y/N jumped and let out a squeak. She relaxed, seeing his smirking face "Kami-sama! Kuroo, don't do that! You scared the crap out of me!"
He chuckled at her reaction and stepped closer into her personal space. Looking over her shoulder to catch a glimpse of what she was reading.
"Stars and constellations? Since when are you into astronomy?" he asked.
"Well, it's a fairly new hobby. Chichiue and I are planning a trip to the mountains to chart stars. I thought it would help me to know what we are looking at."
She tried to move away to put some space between them, but he just grabbed her waist and rested his chin on her shoulder.
"Hmm, need some help?"
She turned around and cocked her eyebrow at him. "Let me guess you know some things about astronomy too?"
He just ignored the sarcasm in her voice before going on a tangent. "Well, did you know at the center of every galaxy is a gigantic black hole that is gradually sucking everything inside? That's how we got the image of a swirling galaxy that we know today. Just in the Milky Way alone, there's about ten million to a billion other smaller black holes."
Kuroo stopped to glance at Y/N, who was looking back at him keenly, before continuing.
"And the name of the supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy is-"
"Sagittarius A," Y/N finished almost breathlessly.
Kuroo joked, "guess you also know some things about astron-"
He failed to complete his sentence when Y/N yanked him down by his school uniform and captured his lips. Her kiss was harsh and greedy as she tried to swallow him whole. He reached over and lifted Y/N to steady her against the bookshelf. He separated for a moment to observe her, captivated as her ample chest heaved up and down.
"Kuroo," she whimpered out while clutching his school uniform.
Y/N grabbed his red tie and tugged him closer. Unable to deny her, he slanted his lips over hers.
Kuroo was honestly so confused; why was she kissing him in a bookstore of all places? Did she have feelings for him? He supposed she had to have felt some attraction. Otherwise, she wouldn't have jumped him in the middle of a conversation. But if she did, when did it began and how? Because as far as he knew, nothing about himself had changed except they were talking more than usual. Their previous conversations included him being flirty and Y/N doing her best to walk away. But now they could spend hours arguing over their shared answers on their organic chemistry homework.
Still, all those questions disappeared when he felt her tongue intertwine with his and suck. Letting out a groan, he pressed her harder against the shelves and bucked. Y/N gasped and grinded back against his clothed cock. Kuroo could feel his member stirring at the soft sounds she was letting out despite gnawing on her lips. She was impatiently trying to rub against him, unable to get a satisfying rhythm.
"Here…here," he urged, grabbing her legs and tugging them around his waist.
She complied and clutched him closer before reigniting their kiss. Y/N was just so impatient and greedy, she coaxed him to get rougher by nibbling on his lower lip.
"Fuck, sweetheart. Do you always get so needy?" he panted.
He needed a minute. Just a minute to get himself together. Because if he made contact with her hot cunt one more time, Kuroo was going to lose it. He was going pull her panties to the side before plunging his hard cock inside of her. And he didn't think getting disciplined for obscenity in a public place was something either of them could afford right now.
SLAM!
The two of them startled and pulled apart to hear a customer apologizing to the bookstore's employee. A book was dropped on the floor.
He reluctantly lowered Y/N back on the floor and let her go. Y/N was looking anywhere but at him, as she tried to fix her appearance and make herself look presentable again.
Kuroo stepped forward. "Let me."
Y/N just nodded as she looked at the floor. He raised her chin to gaze into her eyes as he fixed her long-ruffled strands of hair.
"There. Perfect." His words meaning more than what he implied.
Kuroo waited for her as she paid for her astronomy book and followed her outside.
"Kuroo, it's still early. Do you wanna grab something to eat?" she asked once both had stepped out.
He blinked at her question, wondering if this was a date but decided to not let the chance slip by.
"Sure, I know the perfect place." He grabbed her hand and ignored her flustered pleas to let her hand go.
By the time they arrived at their destination, Kuroo had noticed Y/N had stopped all her protests. Finally, feeling relaxed and secure in his presence.

Several months and dates later, Kuroo and Y/N found themselves at his house while studying for an upcoming chemistry exam.
"So, almost all stoichiometry problems can be solved in four simple steps. First, you balance the equation. Convert the units of the given substance to moles. Then calculate the moles of substance yielded by the reaction. Finally, convert the moles of the substance to the desired units. Sounds easy enough, right?" Kuroo asked, looking up from his notes to see Y/N eyeing her worksheet nervously.
"I-I'm going to be honest with you. I have no idea what any of that means," she grumbled.
He grabbed Y/N and pulled her close to him on the bed they were both occupying.
"Here. Watch me do it, and then if you have any questions, let me know."
Kuroo went through the process slowly. When he finished, he looked up to see Y/N gazing at him earnestly with a prominent flush on her face.
He stared back curiously, not understanding why Y/N was peering at him like that. Usually, she gave him those looks when she watched him play volleyball or if he acted particularly sweet that day. He shouldn't have been that surprised when she shoved her worksheet aside and pounced on him.
Y/N desperately clung and kissed him thoroughly.
"W-wait Y/N. We still have work to do," he gasped while turning his face away.
She didn't seem too perturbed and instead started nibbling his slender neck instead.
Hang on, why was he hesitating if there was a willing and rutting girl on top of him?
Kuroo tried to grasp her waist tightly and switch their position. But Y/N was having none of it and pushed his grabby hands away.  She swung her leg over his waist and pushed him down. With her position, her skirt had ridden up and showed off her legs. He couldn't help it as he caressed her silky-smooth skin and started making his way up her skirt. But before he could touch her lacey panties, she once again shoved his hand away.  Y/N carefully steadied herself and started rocking against his jeans.
It didn't take long before his dick started stirring with Y/N grinding on top of him. Trying not to upset Y/N's pace, he carefully unbuttoned her lacey blouse to expose her black bra. Kuroo shoved off the garment off her shoulders so he could knead her breasts through the cotton bra. Perhaps she got impatient from the lack of friction because soon enough, Y/N was unzipping his jeans and pulling out his dick. She pumped it a few times and asked Kuroo to help. While she was getting his dick hard, Kuroo pulled down her panties. She lined up him up quite nicely.
Y/N quickly rammed his cock inside of her, so fast that Kuroo almost missed the pained whimper from her mouth.
"Oy, slow down," he groaned while feeling her walls constrict around him. Kuroo tried to remove himself from her embrace, but she held onto his hips tightly. She started pushing herself up and down on top of him, letting out whimpers at the feeling of being so full.
He could feel her slick building up from the added ministrations and coating his length, making it easier for her to descend on him. Still, it was a tight fit. Bordering on pain and pleasure. He could see the tears in her eyes, so Kuroo once again tried to get her to slow down.
"Sweetheart, we got all the time in the world."
"Tetsu, I.. I need you so badly," she moaned while simultaneously shoving the rest of him inside her.
"Fuck!" he let out after seeing her be filled to the brim and her mound connecting with his pubic.
Y/N was a panting and crying mess, trying to accommodate a cock that was clearly too big for her.
He felt a little ashamed and guilty for liking the way she looked on top of him. But sex with Y/N was always so nasty and filthy. He remembered vividly how desperately she begged for him to take her virginity after school one day. So, Kuroo cut his practice short (the one rare time he did) and took her to the nearest love hotel where he proceeded to fuck her senseless for an hour straight. Still, he remembered feeling despaired afterward because he had wanted to make love after a romantic date for her first time.
His musing got cut short when Y/N started bouncing on his cock mercilessly. She let out choked sobs each time she slammed back down. The bedsprings began squeaking, and the frame of the bed banged against the wall. So much so he would no doubt have to explain about the dent later to his parents.
Soon enough, he could see Y/N becoming tired, her breathing becoming more and more labored.
She begged, "Tetsu, help me."
"I don't know, Y/N. You got yourself in this mess-" Kuroo let out a loud groan when he felt Y/N purposely squeezing his cock.
Kuroo pulled the cups of her bra down to reveal her heaving chest. He sat up on his forearms to thoroughly suck the peaked breasts while keeping one hand on her hips to control the thrusts. The wild bouncing was now replaced with rhythmic rocking. He knew from experience that she liked to stimulate her clit along with penetration. So, each time he entered her, Kuroo held her hips still so he could grind against her more. It worked, her body started shaking and becoming restless from the extra stimulation.
"Tetsu, I-I'm…" she didn't finish her sentence.
"Fuck, I can feel you milking me. Shit, that n-never gets old," he replied, feeling helpless as her orgasm spiraled out of control.
Feeling that the opportunity now was perfect, he quickly reversed their position. Kuroo rammed his cock back inside of her and made sure to rest her ankles on his shoulders. He had to bend a little to make sure his taller height was able to accommodate her. But the position was perfect for deeper penetration, especially when he pressed his chest against the back of her thighs. Y/N was still sensitive from her previous orgasm, so she only got louder and louder from the new angle. He covered her mouth with his hand; however, her muffled sobs were only subdued to a point. Her keening was still audible to anyone who might pass by his room. He let out a grunt when their bodies connected, creating a loud wet slap that only served to turn him on further. No longer able to hold back, Kuroo didn't stop himself from the telltale signs of his own impending pleasure. The base of his cock tightened, and he came inside of her.
He moaned and let Y/N go, settling his face nicely on top of her sweaty and warm chest. Kuroo thanked whatever deity out there that Y/N had been on birth control since their first time. He had the privilege of hitting it raw and hopefully would continue to do so until she said otherwise.
The two laid side by side for a couple of minutes, trying to catch their breaths before he turned on his side and clutched her closer.
Kuroo grabbed Y/N's face and started peppering it with quick kisses, "I love you. I love you so much. You did so good, baby."
Y/N was too tired to participate, so she returned the kisses halfheartedly.
"Not that I mind, babe. But what was that about? I thought we were supposed to be studying," he teased with a smirk.
Y/N shrugged and replied, "I think intelligence is sexy and a turn on."
The smirk on his face crumbled, and he facepalmed.
Y/N frowned at him. "What's wrong?"
"You shouldn't have told me that. Now we will never get any studying done," he replied with a groan.

Pairing: Wrecker x Reader
Word Count: 2221

Song Lyrics: Faith of the Heart performed by : Russel Watson
Summary: People always judge you by your so-called defects, but Wreck…” Carefully you place a finger under his chin and lift it. “You are a man with so many layers to discover. Beside your sweet and gentle nature, your love of explosions and bets with Cross on who can destroy the most clankers and your deep affection for your family, there is so much more.
So a Wrecker one shot i made. I think there is far more to the man then has been shown until now and i hope that we will get to see more in depth about all of our sweet Batch in season 2 ( and yes I mean all of them when i say Batch! Crosshair included! )
Tumblr media
The Havoc Marauder always seemed as a small home to you all. There was enough space to sit and relax, sleep after a mission or work while underway to whatever planet it was the lot of you would go to, to earn some credits. It was a home away from home, even though you also had a new home base on Ord Mantel. The Marauder was that bit more special because it was the last part of home that the guys had left after defecting from the Empire. Today it seemed to be a refuge for one of the guys and you were glad it was parked on Ord Mantel. Now at the very least, you could spend some time with him, without having to worry that one of the others would walk in on the two of you, without having to worry that he would shut you out again.
“Wrecker….” You walk up to the man currently sitting with his back against the wall of the Marauder. It took you a minute to realise he had taken refuge in the hull and you would not let him get away with withdrawing himself from you again.
“Wrecker, you know you can talk to me right? If not me, then you should find someone to talk to. Please Wreck, don't shut me out.” You slide down next to him on the floor and put a hand on his arm.
When he turns his head to you, you see his watery smile. As much as he is always the cheery and positive man around his family, he now seems to have withdrawn from it all to suffer alone. “I… I don't know where to even start Mini.”
Mini, the name he has given you when you first met and it never left. It became his sweet nickname for you, knowing that you never felt secure about yourself. You had always been well aware you were more weighty then most of the women crowding around the troopers at 79s and all the women flocking towards the men of the Bad Batch whenever they showed up in a bar. The clones who were the majority of the visitors to 79s never looked at you as someone different because of looks though and Wrecker and his brothers were very quick to point out how sweet they found you and how special you had become to them when you joined their little family. To Wrecker you were the most beautiful person in the galaxy as well. He named you Mini, because compared to him, almost everyone was small and you were no different in that. Softly patting his arm you tell him to start where he wants to start.
It's been a long road
Getting from there to here
It's been a long time
But my time is finally near
“I guess, I just wonder where it all will end, or when it all will end. Omega is still just a kid ya know? She is growing up fast, but she is supposed to be a kid. She should be playing with other kids and having fun, bringing home stray animals as pets and kiss a special someone…. Well not kiss, that would not be alright with me and the guys, but when she is older…. But she is learning how to fight and kill now and she is a fugitive with us. It ain't right.” He almost shouts out the words, as if it was blocking his every thought and had to be thrown out there. “I know it wouldn't be much of a life on Kamino for her and all, but still… Is this the right thing to do for her? To keep her with us where she is always in danger?”
You know it is a sentiment that all of the men have had at one point, but Wrecker who bonded strongly with the young girl, as the older brother, felt strongly protective of his little sibling and feared greatly for her safety. With what you hoped to be a reassuring smile you look at him. “Wreck, I know you worry. But this is also Omega`s choice. You all wanted to give her a chance at a more normal life with Cut and Suu. She chose to be with you and live her life with you. You are her family and family is all that matters to her and to you.”
For the first time he grins. “Yeah, she is stubborn ey? Guess she has that in common with us.” Reaching to his side, he grabs a bag of his favorite snack, most times shared with the young girl after a mission. “Want some Mantel Mix too? “ He offers you the bag and you grab a handful of the mix. Popping some in his mouth he chews while staring at the wall opposing you. “Remember how we first got to talk? It was in the hull of the Marauder as well.”
And I can feel the change in the wind right now
Nothings in my way
And they're not gonna hold me down no more
No they're not gonna hold me down
No they're not gonna hold me down
You had been travelling with the guys for a while now, getting used to the day to day business and to being somewhat of a sister figure to Omega. You were no warrior, no clone and no mechanic or medic. You were just the person who was easy in making connections with people when you decided to give it a real try and you knew how to prepare meals from whatever was lying around that was edible. And even more important, you befriended the Bad Batch and covered for them when it was first announced they had defected from the Empire. Knowing how close you had grown to the men, you were under investigation and the guys quickly decided to get you away from the Empire's clutches as fast as they could.
Each of the Batch had grown rather attached to you and Omega clung to you, especially when it came to doing the girly stuff. You enjoyed it immensely but it was Wrecker who surprised you the most. The man had always been considered a simple person that loved explosions and fighting and having his sweet snacks. He could party like the best of them and that was all there was to him. Boy, did he surprise you when you walked in on him one night.
You had been on the way to some remote planet in the Outer Rim. The possibility of finding an ally or foe was small and you needed supplies. Tech and Echo were in the cockpit as usual while Crosshair and Hunter were sound asleep. Omega shared her private sleeping space with you and after a long talk and reading a fantasy story she finally fell asleep. Lula was tucked snugly in with her after which you softly stepped down a ladder and moved to grab something to drink. You stumbled in on Wrecker, concentrated on something on a pad and not hearing you enter the hull. “What ya doing Wreck?” Carefully moving around a crate, you stand beside him and look down.
“Y/N ! You surprised me!.” He quickly puts the pad beside him and looks up to where you stand. I was, well… I was reading something.” He scratches his neck and a slight blush creeps up on his cheeks as he looks at you.
Tilting your head you slide down beside him. “What are you reading?”
For a moment he seems to be debating whether or not he should let you know. Then, he grabs the pad and hands it over to you. When you look at the text displayed you look up. “Wreck, I didn`t know you were interested in this.”
He shyly smiles at you as he takes the pad back. “I like to read about things… Do you know about this man? Asimov? He is really smart. I thought maybe… There is something we can use from what he writes when we face clankers and all.” The sincerity in his voice surprises you a bit.
“I won't say I understand everything this man writes, but it is very interesting. Honestly, I prefer reading different kinds of stories. Romantic novels, historic stories or thrillers and all that. Biographies can be very interesting too and sometimes it can still teach us still I guess.”
Wrecker nods at your every word and a smile beams at you. “You love reading too! Why didn't you tell me? We could share favorites and talk about them if you want? I mean, if that's something you'd like?”
From that moment on, the two of you would share time together whenever you could to talk about the latest story you discovered, about the things either of you did not understand and the other could explain or just reading the same book. More than once it happened that the others would walk in on the two of you, you with your head against him, him with his head in your lap or the other way around, just enjoying the stories you were reading or discussing the stories. Those moments were also the start of Wrecker opening up even more to you about the past and sometimes about his deepest feelings and fears.
Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe
I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith
I've got faith
Faith of the heart
Now right here in the present, you realise that the man you came to love for his love of life and his hidden, deeper layers of personality is severely struggling with everything that has happened up until now. And he needed to work through it, alone and with you. Carefully you lay your head against him. “What else is wrong Wreck? I know it is not only Omega you worry about. You always shut people out when things bother you and you retreat to wherever you can go to vent.”
Wrecker inhales deeply and shifts to wrap his arm around you. “You know Mini, there is so much that happened. Omega is young and a fugitive with us, my chip activated and I almost killed them! Crosshair…. well you know his chip also activated and we lost him for a little while. I`m just happy we got him back again, but he has a lot to work through and he still blames us sometimes. And you….. Mini, you are not safe with us either. They will hurt you if they ever get you. I don't want you to get hurt Mini. I mean, we all have been injured on jobs and stuff, but you and Omega? I would die if something happened to either of you!”
You can hear his heart race as he speaks and feel his body shudder at the thought of you and Omega getting hurt somehow. But, you let him vent every bit of emotion, every bit of anger and fear he has deep inside of himself. He finally decided to open up and let this out. He decided to let you be the one to hear every thought and every struggle he has been fighting with on his own. To so many people he appeared to be a simple man, but you knew better. You knew all too well how many layers there were to this gentle giant.
Pulling away from his body you sit up on your knees in front of him. “Wrecker. You are the most gentle man I have met. You care so deeply for your own and you would sacrifice all that you have and all that you are to ensure their safety. People always judge you by your so-called defects, but Wreck…” Carefully you place a finger under his chin and lift it. “You are a man with so many layers to discover. Beside your sweet and gentle nature, your love of explosions and bets with Cross on who can destroy the most clankers and your deep affection for your family, there is so much more. You are smart, Wrecker. You have an intelligence that defies the understanding of those who always considered you only by your CT number and purpose. And Wreck? You are also the only man I truly, deeply, love.” You place a gentle kiss on his lips as you look him in the eyes.
As you pull back from him, a grin forms around his lips. Without any warning he embraces you and then stands up and slings you over his shoulder. With a high pitched yelp from you, he walks out of the Marauder and into the streets of Ord Mantel. “Time to treat you to some proper dinner, my sweet Mini!”
Before he lowers you back to your feet, he kisses you with a smile.
Out in the back, a man grins and turns around. You only see a glimpse of a red bandana, as Wrecker walks off with his arm wrapped tightly around you. Your Wrecker, a man of deep devotion and many layers to him.

1) "Is violent mob revenge the answer? (I honestly can’t make that determination.) Is violence sometimes the answer? Is war the only answer with totalitarian regimes?" Those are the kind of questions I had in mind actually. Obviously, I wouldn't expect any answers (bc those are up to the audience, not the series), but it would be interesting if they went there. Of course, these questions would fly over some people's heads (like you said), bc honestly? Said people approach THT like it's a
2) Disney-esque (/superhero) series (nothing wrong with them), where the totally good guys get to punch and kill the totally evil guys in the end, uwu. (If I'm being too much of a dick, just tell me and I'll tone it down a notch, lol.) Anyway, mob mentality aside, history proves that such regimes fall and rise the same way they have been created. Aka "Those who arrive with blood, fall with blood." Doesn't mean that we have to like it. I've mentioned before that I detest violence and I especially
3) believe that it has NO place in politics. I've been called naive for this, so there's that. Weirdly enough, I'm also the kind of person who thinks that equating ALL forms of violence is quite dangerous given that: i) threats/regimes like Gilead are inherently genocidal in their ambitions, ii) the scale of violence is not always the same, iii) every country (democratic or not) has its army and police and most people consider this kind of (controlled) violence perfectly valid, iv) there's
4) self-defense. Where I'm going with this? If a pro-Gilead person is threatened by an anti-Gilead one, the former has a choice: they can ask for a democratic trial (bc it's too late to apologize). Most likely, civilized/democratic people will listen to reason. (Well, unless we're talking about mobs... THEN, things get quite disturbing.) But if a person belongs to a group/minority targeted by Gilead, there's nothing they can do that will make pro-Gilead people happy... except die or get raped
5) for life. Anyway, I really could go on and on about this subject, but I think I'll stop here, bc it's quite complex. /// I was thinking about what you said concerning Fred and Serena's pre-Gilead relationship, and you know what? You're right. Their relationship would have fallen apart at some point, Gilead notwithstanding or not. Fred is two-faced and he sure af played us in S1. (Ngl, I used to think he was the lesser of the two evils.) But one doesn't become such an antipathetic monster at
6) a flip of the dime. The nasty parts were always there, but he concealed/controlled them. Maybe bc said parts wouldn't exactly make him endearing to others? Anyhow, your interpretation makes him quite the interesting antagonist/villain, so I'm rolling with it, lol.

OMG. I think I’m in love with you?  PLEASE NEVER STOP BEING YOU. I don’t think you’re being a dick at all. I love it. Cos sometimes we just gotta call the BS like we see it?
“Of course, these questions would fly over some people's heads (like you said), bc honestly? Said people approach THT like it's a Disney-esque (/superhero) series (nothing wrong with them), where the totally good guys get to punch and kill the totally evil guys in the end, uwu.”
This is such a huge point. Cos I think there’s a very common trend of THT attempting to approach issues from various angles and try to show the complexity of it but then it going WHOOSH over so many viewers’ heads. Which never makes sense to me cos like, what’s the point in watching THT if you’re not considering it on multiple levels and trying to explore the issues? I don’t wanna point the blame in the general directions of particular shippers but I can’t help it, perhaps cos they’re just the most vocal in fandom, but it seems that the Disney-eqsque superhero tale is what they want, complete with EPIC HETERO ROMANCE!!! throughout. I’d say at least 50% of the responses are about Mr. Nicky (It goes up to 75-80% if we are actually shown his face). (And their concern is focused on the male romantic lead... YAWN.)
I would absolutely love THT to take the path of questioning mob mentality and the cycle of violence/victimization, etc. But it may be too much for even Hulu to want to tackle considering how black and white viewers seem to think. They are trying so HARD to present characters as shades of grey (Serena, being the main example. But June, Emily, Luke, Nick, etc. also) but instead of placing them along a spectrum it’s either DIE EVIL SCUM! or AMAZING CINNAMON ROLL CAN DO NO WRONG! I think the only one they complain about is June cos she’s not AS perfect as they’d like her to be. She makes some dumbass fucking decisions for sure. Sometimes I like that about her, especially how pre-Gilead June was not a super great person. She was just sorta... normal. (Other times I’m like, “JUNE YOU IDIOT WTF?!” lol but that’s fun too I guess.) If I made a scale myself, I’d probably put June fairly close to the centre, rather than on the far “good” end.
I always wondered this:
If June hadn’t been deemed a “fallen woman” and thus been allowed to stay as an Econowife, with Luke and Hannah, would she have done anything? Would she be as inspired to rebel and resist as she is? I’m not trying to shit on June at all, but I feel like it’s a question I’m curious about. A lot of people say they would be big heroes, but when really faced with the reality of living a sort of shitty life or risking that for an uncertain thing/death, most just choose to go along with it and hope it ends (especially hope that SOMEBODY else takes the risk to end it). Even good people. What do you think?
(Aside: June being called a fallen woman is SUCH bullshit. She wasn’t cheating on anybody! LUKE was unfaithful, not her! Which is why I thought perhaps they missed a chance to address race. It could have influence on what Gilead deems “holy” marriages, and those they see as “sinful”. And a (even subtly) racist fascist state, would deffo see mixed marriage as a terrible thing. “Let’s get the fertile white woman knocked up with some white babies; no more of this mixed race babies!” Again, as we talked about before, it would limit Hannah’s storyline ofc, but I guess it wouldn’t HAVE to. She could be in a “lesser” household, instead of the rich fancy one she is.)
Sorry, those were some unplanned side rants!
I love how you described all the politics of that. It really is a fascinating thing to consider, especially how to deal with Gilead, both on an international scale, and just on smaller scales. War? Seems inevitable honestly. And clearly, Gilead is STILL fighting wars all over the continent. I honestly... you’re so right. It’s very complex and I’m not sure how detailed THT will go with that. They seem to be keeping things quite... superficial. They reference things every so often but there’s nothing solid to latch onto. It often reminds me of the Underpants Gnomes from South Park.
Tumblr media
phase 1: blow up congress
phase 2: ???
phase 3: establish fully-functional military fascist handmaid regime over entire continental US.
....so how to bring down Gilead then???
phase 1: burn down 3 house + angry handmaid steal babby back then let babby go to canada!!
phase 2: ???
phase 3: overthrow massive fascist military regime!!!!
So, we’ll see how they do it. I doubt we’re really going to get a lot of details about how everything works and maybe it’s just better that way cos it seems like the more they try to explain how Gilead stays working, it makes even less sense. And also, as much as this stuff is interesting, I really don’t wanna watch THT turn into like Zero Dark Thirty or some shit. It’s strongest when focused on the women’s experiences specifically.
“Fred is two-faced and he sure af played us in S1. (Ngl, I used to think he was the lesser of the two evils.)“
Same! It wasn’t until S2 that I started going “hmm” about Fred. I thought he wasn’t as evil as her. And when you go back and watch S1 knowing what he’s done in S2, tehre are hints and I got a weird vibe. Like... I dunno. I was randomly just rewatching that 2x11 scene where Fred and Serena are at the house and Fred is just so.... Yikes. His motives are so clear. And I tried to find examples of Fred’s humanity. I do believe we get glimpses of Serena’s, and she has capacity for kindness--in very specific circumstances but I couldn’t find a single scene of Fred where he does anything selfless, or without expecting some sort of gross sexual favour/ego stroke in return, or even kind. It’s all for his own gratification. And I am 1000% convinced he has some sort of pregnancy fetish. It doesn’t seem like he gives a shit about the actual baby, esp once its born. He’s more interested in June’s bodily changes (not the actual baby) when she’s pregnant, and her lactation afterwards. And I may not know much about the world of fetishes but I do know that’s not exactly a rare one for men.
I think an argument against me would be the car convo about creating the Ceremony cos Fred kind of just went along with it and was on the fence. But then I think... it’s not that he was against it at all. He just didn’t think women would like it. It was never, “Nah, mate, that’s a step too far.” It was more like, “Cool idea, bros. But let’s rebrand it okay?” I mean, in the flashbacks, he did seem very proud of her, enamored, like you said. But part of me just can’t shake that, okay fair play that he probably did honestly love/respect her in some ways, but he also saw it as, “Yes, this plan is going just the way I want it!” I don’t feel like power corrupts THAT much, that quickly that he’d go from perfect husband and lovingly gazing at his amazing wife to demeaning, repeatedly cheating on her, and beating the living shit out of her (and raping her) in a few years. Then again, extreme situations can make people change quite abruptly. Who knows.
I dunno. Maybe I just hate him and dont’ wanna give him any credit for being a human being in any way whatsoever lol.
