HTTYD is so special, how often do you get to spend this much time with your main cast??? Watch them GROW UP???? Consume literal HOURS of material in the forms of movies, shows, comics, games, shorts, etc????? We're so SPOILED

Here are the Contenders and Rules. Dreamworks did not theatrically release any films in 2018.
(Also feel free to add in the tags or notes whether I should still keep running the Dreamworks Tournament separate from the Illumination Tournament in the coming years)

Show Snotlout is just so vastly superior to movie Snotlout, and I KNOW i KNOW they had more time in the shows, but they didn't have to reduce him pretty much solely to comic relief in the movies (I adore movielout btw even though thw Snotlout was a total nightmare)
Bc like it would've been so easy to give him a moment w Hiccup where he's like we believe in you in the second movie to show his growth from the first, or to show him joking around WITH the gang as opposed to being the butt of the joke constantly and stuff idk

People be asking after the HTTYD3-rewrite thing I did so here’s the Old Night Fury
I dunno. I’ve never tried to draw Toothless before
Let’s flesh out the Old Night Fury, for funsies:
- He never makes any purring noises or cooing noises.
- He does this thing in mid-air when Toothless is following him where he dives straight down, then snaps open his wings and halts because his wings are bigger and stronger than Toothless’, causing the heroes to shoot straight past him. Usually when they wheel around, Old Night Fury is gone.
- He signals to the Light Fury Flock by opening and closing his back spines quickly, which makes a clicking noise. For this reason Tuffnut calls him Shutter.
- His plasma blasts are paler than Toothless’.
- When he returns to the spot where the Fury Flock is resting to find Hiccup and Toothless watching from the edge, he immediately attacks and rips Hiccup’s peg leg straight off before Toothless intervenes.
He’s just basically the bigger, slightly darker (because reptiles darken as they get older) and spikier Toothless before being tamed—no hesitation, he just always immediately chooses violence.
He never really warms up to Hiccup or Toothless, and actually we’ll say the Love Interest Fury actually has to get between him and a protective charge from Old Night Fury right before Grimmel catches up and kills him. Maybe if Old Night Fury hadn’t been distracted by Hiccup and Toothless, he could’ve heard Grimmel coming as usual 🤷♀️

Just did a marathon of the trilogy, and say what you want about “The Hidden World”, but as a fan of the books when the ‘There were dragons when I was a boy’ monologue kicks in I cry every single time.

I’d like to imagine that Tuffnut becomes a chicken farmer when he’s older, but treats his flock like Sven treats his herd. They’re allowed in the house, on the furniture; they’re his children. They’re the Rufflegs’ cousins. They each get their own Snoggletog jumpers every year. And on the mantelpiece above the fireplace next to a key dish of green scales and Zippleback teeth? A portrait of Chicken, the common ancestor of practically all of Tuff’s flock. The god-chicken. Amongst the New Berkians, Tuffnut is the crazy chicken lady, and everything is okay.
