Because I made the mistake of drawing this (link) I looked up reference pictures and tried to figure out how tall Jack Horner and Lord Farquaad are and now the internet algorithm as a whole think I want to know EVERYTHING about them so against my will I now know that Farquaad’s canon backstory is that he’s the son of the princess from The Princess and the Pea who fucking died from falling out of her tall ass bed and his dad is one of the dwarfs from Snow White which makes him a half-dwarf who was forced to work in his dad’s mine after his mother died but because he didn’t want to be a miner his dad left him in the woods at the age of 28 and that’s when Farquaad decided to try an reclaim his royal status from his mother and just WTF!??!!!?

Also someone commented on the drawing that the ship made a lot of sense because they could see Farquaad hiring Jack to round up fairytale creatures and honestly that’s perfect because Jack would love the job and secretly hoard magic items and would for sure be a humongous dick about it if he found out Farquaad is part fairytale creature himself and somehow I ended up in a spiral thinking too much about this horrible ship

{ ENDGAME SPOILERS } PERSONALLY the most perfect temenos roi reunion to me would undoubtly involve arcanette.. I love to imagine a rewrite where instead of ochette killing off roi he actually retreats beside arcanette's side as she's keeping him on a tight leash mostly for temenos sake. then during their final confrontation she'd bring out roi and reveal the truth of what happened to him just to tormet him even further and raise the stakes of battle etc. cue special banter with ochette/temenos & temenos & team vs roi & arcanette. yeah. yeah

Oh that would have been interesting to see.

T'would have also the double whammy of angst for Temenos as not only does he need to deal with the revelation that someone he saw as a friend was responsible and mocking the death of those close to him, but also the fact that his brother suffered a far worse fate than death would be.

The sewing advice tips look very helpful! But also what if I'm not starting on a small project? (Yes, I did just order linen, wool, and patterns for an early 16th century shift and kirtle because I like jumping in the deep end I guess. Many YouTube videos are in my future) Is there anything else you would say is necessary for something that large?

First off that sounds like an awesome project! I’d love to see the finished result when it’s done.

The biggest question I would have is - are you planning to sew it by hand? If not, you’re obviously going to want access to a machine (and as a beginner hand sewing project you’d probably want something smaller, but also I’m not your mum xD). This can be as fancy or as basic as you want, but thought should be put into what you’re willing to do via hand - eg button/lacing holes, finishing edges, stuff like that.

Otherwise, I’d say that the *full* list of what I posted will stand you in good stead - in particular an iron, sewing scissors, and a dressmakers tape! If you weren’t planning to buy a pre-made pattern, I would definitely recommend getting some cheap fabric for a mock-up (thrift store sheets are good for this, or the cheapest fabric you can get). Tbh it might still be a good idea, as it can help with a better fit, but that’s up to you.

YouTube is definitely your friend, and a great resource! I got a lot of my early sewing knowledge from there.

(Disclaimer: I have started on a 16th century dress (rip to that project), but I’m not the most familiar with that century or more complex garb in that style, so I can’t guarantee to know everything you need).

The thing about me playing games that have multiple endings/branching narratives is that I always feel like I do things in an "incorrect" order, even if there isn't meant to be a correct one.

For example, I just finished playing Who's Lila? and I got to the cafe ending before I had even met detective Yu, so the latter half of my playthrough was filled with the more ""literal"" kind of endings which made the whole game feel kinda anticlimactic in a way that wasn't really the fault of anyone but myself for not following the "easiest" or "most logical" series of events at first. I see other people talk about games like these and it always seems that they experienced the games how they were intended to be, even though player freedom is often the point of a lot of these games. You can only experience a game for the first time once, and it very rarely feels like I do it the right way.

one thing abt me is i will always be early. someone tells me to get to their house at 5? i’m showing up atleast 5 minutes early. that is on time to me. the problem is though when i tell someone to come to my house at 5 i’m expecting them to show up 5 minutes early. like what do u mean not everyone thinks that 5 minutes early is on time and they’re coming at the time i specifically told them to come?

my usual morning routine is to feed the pup, let 'im have a run of the garden, do my morning skin care routine (which, with its nighttime counterpart, cannot ever be skipped on penalty of looking like a flakey dried out husk - thank you dry sensitive skin, i hate you), get dressed, then have breakfast.

once in a (great) while, i decide 'fuck it i wanna have my breakie right after i've looked after the pup'.

and then i remember why that is not my usual routine. because it is now nearly half past noon, and i'm still in my pjs, because i got distracted.... 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

at least it's sunday, so it's no great loss, nor do i usually have much of anywhere to go, still though. at least when i'm ready and dressed before breakfast i get to feel at least a bit productive 😅🙄
