Afton Family All Together AU headcanons, I have such brainrot for it! (Meaning: Mike, Elizabeth, Vanessa, and Evan are all William's kids in one timeline; Elizabeth and Vanessa are twins.)
Mike is... Mike. You know... He's rebellious, he's mouthy, he gets into trouble often. Not on good terms with his parents. (The least favorite child.)
Elizabeth is a loyal Daddy's Girl, but she's also a bit like her big brother; she's a bit of a rebel. She's a brat, she does what she wants, she doesn't take "No" for an answer. She is a free spirit, she acts on impulse. She marches to her own beat, and the poor girl paid for it with her life. (Her parents 3rd favorite child.)
Vanessa is the total opposite of Michael and Elizabeth. She is careful, she's cautious. She has always been the "good girl," always obedient. It was always "Good Girl, Vanessa!" and "Lizzie, why can't you listen, like your sister?" She apologizes for tantrums and meltdowns. She apologizes for everything. She's learned to keep her feelings to herself. She is the perfect daughter. She's deeply afraid of her father, but she also craves his love. (The 2nd favorite child; their good, dutiful little Vanny.)
Evan is just a sweet, sensitive little boy. The baby. He scares so easily. He wasn't made for such a harsh family, so it's no wonder he goes first. (He's the favorite child.)

something so fun about the uncertainty and ruthlessness of tog's immortality. they mention it directly on screen even. "none of us had a choice," "i don't want this, there isn't one good thing in any of this," etc. there's the horror of surviving everyone you love and like. you don't get a choice it just happens to you whether you want it or not. none of them know why, or what's happening to them, they just have to make the best of it (mileage may vary). doesn't matter if you had a family or a life or something you couldn't leave behind it doesn't matter! it doesn't care! this is what you are now! and you're not even invincible you still die over and over again but you just can't stay dead and even THAT'S not certain. perhaps if they had been chosen for a reason they could make some sense of it but they don't KNOW. all they have is what they make of it

and it's like despite all the awful shit he's done and continues to do, like, i get it. he's employed like 24/7/365. he never got to live a life, despite spending a childhood clinging to the hope of having one someday. He knew companionship and love but lost it and can't ever get it back. His circumstances are so anomalous and gruesome that it completely isolates him from pretty much every other human being on the planet. he knows hell is real and he is basically guaranteed to go there if he can't break this demon curse thing.
like it doesn't make the kidnapping and spreading the curse around any better, but i do get it.

mmgghh imagine julian having a zoe murphy from deh style breakdown as he tries to reconcile the brother he remembers, the one that abused him for years and years on end, that never brought him anything but pain, that would beat him up for the slightest provocation, with the one that meets him at the academy, the one that saved a city, the one that is working relentlessly to save their family from ruin, the one that defends him from bullies and tells him it was never his fault that others harassed him
just. julian getting to express the rage and confusion and conflicted emotions that would come with the person that abused him for years changing completely out of nowhere and turning into the older brother he'd always wanted.
so don't tell me i didn't have it right
don't tell me it wasn't black and white
after all you put me through
don't say it wasn't true
that you were not the monster
that i knew

"Emily..." Randall began, almost tearfully, but it was June and Wilhelm who spoke up over him-not to agree, not to rush her out the door and warn her not to come back, but instead to ask her to stay.
"Please," Wilhelm began, as June reached out to take the young woman's cold hand, stopping her as he continued, "W-Would you stay, just a little longer, lass? Really, we...we'd like it if you stayed. I-I promise, y-you're not intruding; Junie and I weren't able to sleep anyways..."
"You saved our son's life, and you brought him back home to us," June continued gently, as Randall sat up a little, just as surprised as Emily was at this sudden turn of events, this change in reaction in his parents. "We...we can't thank you enough for that. Please, won't you sit down? I...I think we have a lot to talk about...and a lot to apologize for."
At this, Randall's eyes widened further, as he looked between Emily, his mother, and his father, that surprise turning to a sort of tentative relief, as his mother encouraged Emily to make herself comfortable, while June moved to the kitchen to put on a pot of tea, to perhaps soothe their frazzled nerves. She hoped the young woman (not a monster, she thought to herself, but a young woman) would accept, and hear out what the Pace parents had to say.
