He looked sadder than yesterday and didn't try to smile anymore. Yesterday looked good and there was some hope. But today is different, I really don't understand 🥺
I think the disappointment today comes from the fact they felt like they were in a good place yesterday. Whatever changes they made to the car between FP2 and FP3 and then back for quali didn't really click in, I would presume.
It's also him and the tyres not being in a happy place quite often. Maybe if he'd had another chance at one more lap he would have gone through to Q3, but who knows when he feels like that others were making bigger steps than he was ...

the ending of the new she-hulk episode was actually so well executed like i myself felt vulnerable and horrified during the entirety of the reveal scene and the visible shame on jen’s face after made my heart literally drop. im so sorry jennifer, sweetheart, your rage is so so justified. destroy them, ruin them, burn intelligencia to the ground

So I keep wondering if referring the eventual D+ Daredevil show as Daredevil: Born Again is deliberate or incidental. I know it’s technically a reboot but weren’t their aesthetic elements of Born Again in the third season? Honestly, I’ve not read it. I know Frank Miller is such a huge influence on modern Daredevil and I have heard his Daredevil comics aren’t nearly as bad as when he helmed Batman but ya know. It’s like trying to tell me Brian Azzerello actually wrote something good for anything other than his own original comics. Sounds fake. Oh well, maybe I’ll give it a shot this weekend.

You know, for everyone saying that this current phase of the MCU sucks and for all of the burnout I had regarding the MCU the past few years, the stuff I've seen in this phase is the stuff I'm most likely to (and already have) see again! The stuff I've actually enjoyed seeing!
Like - I'm on my third time through WandaVision in under six months, I saw DSMOM twice in theaters (and want to see it again), I actually want to see TLAT and Hawkeye again - like I have ENJOYED the MCU this phase on more than just a "see it once for the hype and now don't care about seeing it again" and like?
The examples are mostly ones where they decided to do something different. WandaVision is WandaVision, like, duh. DSMOM pulled in Raimi and tried to play with horror. TLAT did stupid comedy. (Also DSMOM and TLAT played into some of my personal favorite narrative tropes; I've mentioned how both have a very similar narrative structure in terms of their tragic villain corrupted by evil McGuffin playing on the vulnerability of losing a child where the goal is less kill the villain and more remind them something intrinsic about themselves (and also get rid of the MC's current love interest but that's another thing).) Hawkeye just. was FUN.
There have been some hits and misses this phase, and I'm not saying that the stuff I like is actually GOOD but it's FUN, and I want my movies and shows to be FUN.
Idk, this might actually be my favorite MCU phase. Which probably sounds weird. But it's true!

All I can say is… I’m really, really happy to see Charlie as Matt again, BUT… I don’t have faith in Disney. Everything they make turns into some silly comedy, and Matt’s life is… not a comedy. Not saying his life can’t be funny at times ( Matt Murdock is sassy ), but Disney tends to make a joke out of their marvel characters. Not to mention, religion and violence are a huge part of Matt, are they gonna put that in the show or put a filter on it?

okay, i finally watched the first ep of she-hulk……
i have some ThOuGtS
- first, idk what I even watched, like it didn’t feel like a first ep of a show. Jennifer seems cool but idek what the show is going to be about or what the conflict could be. It felt like we were thrown into a side story that lasted too long. The pacing was weird as hell and besides talking about how Jennifer became a hulk, it literally provided not much of anything else to the story. Idk who her friend is, who the other guy coworker is, or who the hell busted through the wall at the end. And I know we’re going to learn more about them later, but it just felt like they have no importance to the story or to Jennifer I guess.
- *sighs* the cgi. obviously everyone’s been saying how wonky and inconsistent it looks so im not going to go on about that, but damn… seeing a full ep of it ‘twas something. but also I’m just not a fan of jen’s hulk design. maybe I’m nit picking, but something in her face changes and I don’t like how they make her hair straight and longer and like it's fixed up when she transforms, like when Bruce transforms he doesn’t get a new hairstyle. And ahhhh, just add more muscle to her, please. Her hulk look is like a green barbie. She can have muscle and still be feminine or whatever
- holy crap, we did not need a fight scene between Jennifer and Bruce, didn’t add anything
- and I know this is like the least of my worries, but the song choice at the end did not fit to me. The whole ending felt like I was watching an Austin Powers movie, and for a 2000s feel r&b (i think) song to come on out of no where w/ out the aesthetic being expressed ealier was like whiplash. The ep overall ig just had a weird tone (or a lack there of) and pacing to me
okay but the whole ending was whiplash, wtf was that. the cuts were so choppy, it moved so fast, and i'm more confused than interested to learn about what happened.
idk, I’m just disappointed, it felt lousy to me. I really hope it improves as it goes on
