fingers tap the edge of her phone in time with the baseline. gaze darting around the club when the strobe lighting illuminates the room, only to drop every time she meets the eyes of the man a mere 6ft away. her friends from school are nowhere to be seen, lost in the throng of bodies. when the light comes up again, he's maneuvered even closer, and her breath comes even faster. the darkness in between is a comfort for way too many reasons.

logically, she knows the man is a stranger - likely just wanting to flirt, maybe by her a drink - they'd come to new york for the weekend after all, and she didn't know anybody here. besides she has the faces of those men burned into her mind forever, and he is not one of them. but his eyes are the same colour, his hair the same length, his jeans the same cut. it was enough to chase the couple of drinks from her system, and send her spiralling.

irial is nearby, she can feel him like a cloak of darkness on her skin, can nearly taste his rage and anguish as her anxiety turns into fear to panic, and now borders on blind terror. but the thought of his violence cuts into her mind like knives, more so how clearly she can picture this strange innocent being torn to shreds. and so she wills him away with her remaining lucidity.

"niall...niall...i..." she can't hear him, can't even hear her own shaky voice as it mumbles into the phone. barely even remembered calling him when the lights had flashed again and the man was barely a body away. "@sgarrigh i need you."

actually, i've been thinking about that for a while now (art ideas basically). Canonically, i don't think it'll ever happen but i like the possibility. Maybe a certain situation might lead him to use the amulet as a final card (despire liu kang's warnings). Desperate times calls for desperate measures sort of thing.

liu kang doing whatever it takes to keep the amulet away from raiden but by some force of nature it ends up in his hands, and when raiden asks what the problem is liu kang is reluctant to explain because that would mean revealing everything about raiden's past life (i guess???) and about dark raiden. Even if raiden promises to be careful the power ends up consuming him anyway, and it all becomes a terrible deja vu for liu kang idkk

“Say what exactly?” he asked, looking somewhere between bemused and amused.

“That you’re scared I will beat you,” she taunted him and watched as his lips parted in surprise at her words.

He broke into a laugh at her words. “You really are something, aren’t you? You just keep proving it yourself out loud. That here lies nothing.” He tapped the side of his head twice.

Joyeuse gave him a considering look, refusing to show how much she was aggravated by his words once again. She let her eyes study the curve of his shoulders under the thin tunic he wore, his neither frail nor muscled arms under the sleeves, and clicked her tongue. “So, that makes two of us.”

The crowd made a noise at her words, along with his three friends who, she could see in her peripheral vision, were covering their mouths.

Joyeuse almost smiled at the reaction she received, and even noticed him fight back one before he spoke. “I’m years of training ahead of you, pretty one. Forget it, I’m not fighting you.” He shook his head, looking her up and down as if she were a seven year old that he was trying to get rid of.

Click. Joyeuse twisted the hilt of the blade, and the split short sword came away in two similar ones. She wasted no time in tossing one of them at the golden-haired boy. She tilted her head to the side once. “Or should I throw a glove down at your feet?”

If he had good swordsman skills, so did she.

Celebrating Birthdays in the Human World

Imagine the sisters, the mamas and the rest of humanity celebrating their birthdays in the human world?

Can you imagine people asking them when their birthday is? They would probably give it without hesitation or second thought. To them it's just a date of when they existed, it's not gonna hurt anyone.

But can you IMAGINE when people told them that they will celebrate it when the time comes? They would be surprised, excited, flustered or don’t know what to say or react. They would also be surprised of how different our way of celebrating birthdays is compared to theirs back when they were children. (well that's what i think it is) There will be NO surprises or any loud noises cuz y’know they got trauma. Just a warm and calm celebration. EVERYONE IS INCLUDED to celebrate that person's b-day. unless that b-day person wants to celebrate it privately or with a few people they are comfortable with. That's why we ask questions before doing things like this. communication is important. Imagine how touched they are when they feel nostalgic or very happy they get to experience the wholesome things they did as a kid again?  

Imagine them being flustered or overwhelmed that many/few people greeted them “happy birthday”?

Imagine how amazed they are that they get to receive a lot of gifts? They received so many things they haven’t seen before. They also get to eat a lot of food they haven't tasted before. (Maybe go out to places they haven't been before??? unless they want to)

Imagine how happy they are to hear the words they wanted to hear for a very long time? “Happy birthday”, “We wish you many birthdays to come “, “we are happy you existed “,  “we love you” , “we are very happy to have met you” "we're glad to have you here" , and many more. Just shower them with affections both verbally and maybe physically if they are comfortable with it.

For the first time in so many years, They finally get to have a HAPPY Birthday. It became their special day again instead of ignoring it to focus on becoming a mom to save themselves. It feels good to be loved again, isn't it?

After all, everyone needs a reminder of how precious life is as well as to be with loving people who are grateful for you being here. All birthdays deserved to be celebrated.  I can imagine how sad it is that birthdays are no longer celebrated or seen as a waste of time back in the demon world. Once you get shipped, say goodbye to your happiness and mental health.

some of my own lil ideas for making a nice fairy / fairycore themed space !! i've been doing some research and pinterest - hunting, and here are some thoughts / ideas i've had !

string lights / fairy lights ! a very fitting addition to any room, if not only for their name. they create a nice sparkling ambience, as well as some very pretty soft lighting. they have a very fairy - like quality with their flitting and sparkling lights, and they come in different colours ( some even change colour ) !

lanterns ! vintage and old - timey lanterns are very pretty to have, especially when paired with the fairy lights ! you can decorate them with natural - type decorations, like some flowers or false moss !

crystals & pretty rocks ! i have my crystal & rock collection out on display in my room :D

those little plastic vine thingies ( this kind or this kind ) are always fun to decorate with ( whether on walls, the roof, or furniture ) , and add a nice nature quality !

following on from the last one, flowers are of course a must ! false or real ( not everyone has a green thumb, sadly ) , they add beautiful colour. try vases ( or unconventional containers ) , or even use them to decorate furniture !

following on once again, succulents & little plants are nice little buddies ! they can be fairly easy to take care of, and are a nice little addition to any room or windowsill
