#i really want to see her fight some wizards this season

Adaine's melee abilities in combat have mesmerized me. The bonus action True Strike with the Sword of Sight. Destiny guiding her blade as she struck true four of the shatter stars at once with a swift Steel Wind Strike. Around her, she can see everything. Through invisibility, into the Ethereal Plane. Never again will mages, like her kidnappers from Fallinel, ever get the drop on her. If they try, she is now a certified Mage Slayer, and they'll have to contend with an opportunity attack from the Oracle herself for even daring to cast a spell within her reach.

Here’s Part 2 of some ideas I’m doodled for my Winx rewrite
Last post seemed to do better than I expected and I’m glad a few people enjoyed it. So here are some more things I want to work with.
Tumblr media
I like Artu and Roxy’s relationship but I would have also liked some backstory on them and more depth. Like Gantlos said “it’s just a dog”. How did Roxy get Artu? Is he adopted or bought? Is there a reason he doesn’t like anyone outside of Roxy and Klaus?
In my rewrite, yes. Abandoned as a puppy, a kid Roxy took him in after her mother left her dad unexpectedly. She basically raised Artu and he means a lot to her, but she never socialised him since she herself isn’t social with people (so while Artu may tolerate someone’s prescence he doesn’t like being touched or seen upclose). Roxy raising Artu is also why she gets pissed and earns her fairy form but doesn’t want the fairy gig since it ended up hurting her dog, because as a fairy the wizards are after her and Gantlos hurt Artu.
Speaking of Gantlos
Tumblr media
Gantlos my beloved you’re so fucking bland the only personality trait you have is having fucked up pointy hands and a cool hat <3
Ok in all honestly I like his apathy to animals and the Winx in general, but that also applies to the other wizards to some extent. At least you can say something about the other wizards; Orgon’s voice is top tier, Duman has really cool powers and design, Anagan’s banter with Flora’s entertaining. This one’s technically a headcannon I made cannon in the rewrite. I did my research btw.
Gantlos has a pretty intense fear of deers also called Elafiphobia, even asking Duman to not shapeshift into one. It’s pretty bad, seeing a deer gets him pretty close to a panic attack. I’m not going to spoil why but I’ll say it’s a consequence of the Great Fairy Hunt. In fact all the Wizards despite being the cause have been affected by the fairy hunt, either overall or because of a major event. Gantlos’ deer phobia is also why he doesn’t like/care about animals initially, I mean, why should he like them? Just cause they’re cute? Hah!
Tumblr media
Apart from Riven and Musa I hate the melodrama in season 4 it’s so shit. Since in my version Sky isn’t in the story cause king stuff, Mitzi is narratively cremated and Nabu doesn’t die, on top of planning to expand on Anagan and Flora’s relationship as rivals and Anagan “flirting” with her, it’d be weird for Helia to be like “eh”. Like even if Flora can hold her own I think he’d at least be a little concerned and annoyed at Anagan.
So yeah, Helia’s conflict is having a case of Impostor syndrome because Anagan’s a foil to him; confident, extroverted, confrontational, and actually bounces off of Flora really well. (Like, I don’t ship Anagan and Flora but the people who do I don’t blame them, it sounds more interesting) Even if Flora doesn’t reciprocate Anagan’s feelings, Helia feels inadequate and is anxious Flora will lose interest and might even break up with him since he’s the anti-social poet of the group. Timmy could even help after his confidence arc in Season 2. He’s not overprotective of Flora like wanting to fight Anagan since it kinda goes against his pacifism but the narrative doesn’t care about that as much as I do :/
Tumblr media
And lastly I think it’s be neat if we saw a more fleshed out dynamic between the Wizards, the best I can think of is when they’re protected by Syllia and Duman almost slips their plan to which Anagan says he’s being whoosy, Orgon complains about being protected by fairies while Gantlos is fine with it.
A lot of the rewrite is focused on fleshing out the wizards because I want complex villains grr, and they’re perfect for it. The Earth Fairies? They’re good but they’re dead in my rewrite soooo-
I like to think Orgon is pretty manipulative of them. Was he always like this? No, but he’s desperate to secure the disappearance of magic from Earth, and his manipulation gets worse and worse as the episodes go on, in the end being threats and guilt-tripping. He still cares but mostly how the wizards can be of service to the Black Circle. And yes Duman is his favorite because he has the best powers. Shapeshifting will always be OP and the best power in my heart.
Anyway that’s all folks. If I make a part 3 it’ll probs cover some other stuff like Jason Queen, which I like his character, it’s perfect for Musa’s development (until they made Bloom the fucking main singer like WHYYY) or perhaps talk about Klaus or Morgana, Tecna and Timmy and more about Nabu. Anyway I’ll go watch some more nostalgic minecraft videos and webtoon rants. See ya!

5 Things I DESPERATELY want for the Winx Club reboot
Tumblr media
A balanced, inclusive story. Seasons 1-3 of the original series were amazing, but Tecna and Flora felt super neglected in terms of their world and backgrounds (I remember it's said in the RAI dub that Tecna is an android, and I'd love for that to be canon). It'd also be fun to see more of Andros and the merpeople without having to wait 5 seasons for it.
Male fairies. They've been shown in the background of the original show, but their designs are very basic and without any transformations.
The specialists are developed, fleshed-out love interests and we nix all of the toxic moments. We don't know a large amount of them outside of Sky, and the Sky/Diaspro/Bloom love triangle is just messy and unnecessary. Riven deserves an arc where he overcomes his toxic masculinity and sexism due to how his mom abandoned him and see the Winx and specialists help him with that. Plus I kinda want them to be magical rather than guys with magical weapons; they don't really stand a chance against magical villains, and their skills don't seem as cool next to sorcerers, fairies, witches, and wizards. I'd also like for Nabu to be a part of the group from the get-go, and Nex and Roy can be supporting characters. And let them have more clothes!
Meaningful transformations. In the original, Charmix is about overcoming insecurities, Enchantix is earned via sacrifice, and everything afterwards is a group project (even if some of them have nice designs). More meaningful requirements that contribute to their mental and emotional growth should be incorporated into the transformations--if they end up going beyond Enchantix.
Clarify what Daphne's situation is and let Bloom ENJOY Domino. At first Daphne was cursed by the witches to become a disembodied spirit, and then it was clarified that it was her Sirenix transformation that was cursed. I liked the idea that Sirenix could turn you evil like Politea, though Daphne being a disembodied spirit as a result of the transformation felt like an odd retcon. If they want to use Sirenix later, perhaps have it exist as an evil transformation, resulting in why Bloom has to fight Daphne while Aisha fights Tritanus. And I just want Bloom to be able to enjoy her time in Domino when it's restored rather than immediately going back to business.
And I'll just be that guy: is there ANY way to get the 4kids cast to do the English dub? If not, I made a post with my own fancast for the girls and the specialists. Haven't made one for the villains yet, though.

Went back to find your Titans WIP list, which was from November, and I forgot how many absolute bangers there were. So many of them piqued my interest. -Rotten Anon
OKAY WILD
it took me like five minutes to find it WILD LOOKING THROUGH MY ARCHIVE after you told me it was posted in November. you are a wizard if you found it so quickly to just casually look through it
here it is for reference of random people who are not wizards
sometime this upcoming week, I will post an updated list of things I am actively working on, but I am working on some new things, and I am HEAVILY looking at:
Continuing the First Kiss Series with Donna Troy
The Donna 'Rage Chemical Fic' - Donna Troy x Fem!Kryptonian!Reader, Angst, set during the flashback era of S2 - this is based off a request from my old blog; you are dosed with a chemical that Cadmus is working on (in the hopes of using it on Superman) and you end up in a blind rage; Donna, your lover, is the only one strong enough to fight you and inject you with the antidote (there is some angst where you try to kill Donna and she uses her calm, loving words to temporarily stop the rage) (this is structured like an episode of Titans, set during the OG Titans era)
The Sequel To Emergency Contact (sequel would be called The Jaws of Life) - Jason Todd x GN!Reader, Angst and Smut, set during season 3; this would be a reunion between Jason and the reader after Jason dies and comes back to life (reunion sex)
and maybe the sequel to Missing You - (because more and more randomly, people have been liking the original and I am just like ?? if you guys like this one so much, then have the sequel) - Gar Logan x Fem!Reader x Jason Todd, Smut, set outside of the canon; I am thinking about a sequel and maybe even a third part to this, where Jason and the reader have phone sex with Gar now that they know he’s listening (and a part where they have sex with him in person)
those, in addition to some new interesting things
I really, really, really want to finish the sequel to Emergency Contact because I think it's one of the most wonderfully heartbreaking things I have ever written and I think people need to see it. the world needs it

Liv!! Idk if your age gap anon got back to you but I’ll take any age gap fics you have 👀
Hi Danni! I haven’t heard back from them but your wish is my command 😌💜 since I already did rec lists for some age gap ships like Dralbus and Scarry, I’ve decided to make this one about the age difference element itself (Daddy kink, loss of virginity, teacher/student dynamic etc etc) if that makes sense? Happy Friday everyone!
Drarry:
Draco at Nineteen by birdsofshore (E, 5k)
It's the middle of the night and Harry Potter is sitting on my bed looking distinctly weird. I've had some fucked-up dreams in my time, but this one... this one is something new.
Not Nineteen Forever by @sorrybutblog (E, 6k)
A rogue charm hits on a mission and suddenly, Draco is nineteen again. Harry is still thirty-five and doing his best to look after his de-aged Auror partner (and forget about his long unrequited crush) until St. Mungo’s can brew the antidote.
The Eighth Tale by lettered (E, 12k)
Draco Malfoy tries to fix the past, but instead mucks it up some more. For Harry, it all becomes quite clear.
Just a Matter of Time by @gracerene (E, 23k)
Draco's in a bit of a rut. He's nearing forty, divorced, and he still can't figure out how to make his Time Turner reconstruction work. He's bored, he can admit it, so he's not nearly as concerned as he should be when his pet project malfunctions and sends him twenty years into the past.
Fast Forward, Two Steps Back by emmagrant01 (E, 36k)
Everyone knows that Draco Malfoy died in the Room of Requirement ten years ago. So when he suddenly reappears at Hogwarts ten years later, still seventeen years old, Professor Harry Potter's life gets very complicated.
Rare pair:
Rise and Shine by tamlane (E, 2.5k) - Hermione/Teddy
It’s too early to fight off Teddy Lupin’s wandering hands. Not that Hermione tries very hard any other time of the day.
Beneath a Foreign Moon by @lqtraintracks (E, 2.7k) - Harry/Teddy
Harry visits Teddy in the middle of the night.
Getting Hard by Snegurochka (E, 3.3k) - Harry/Scorpius
Scorpius always preferred to do it now, now, and then maybe again in twenty minutes, but Harry took forever. Slowly, though, Scorpius is beginning to see the appeal of being patient.
Slip Free of My Grasp by @lqtraintracks (E, 3.4k) - Harry/Sirius
I don't want to be bad for him. I want to do bad things and still be, somehow, inexplicably, good.
Simple As It Is, Complicated As You Need by @lqtraintracks (E, 3.4k) - Harry/Teddy
It's not something they do often, this whole 'Daddy' thing. But to be fair, they don't even have regular sex as often as Teddy would like either. It's not as though they've even admitted they're doing anything.
A Carnival Mirror by secretsalex (E, 3.4k) - Draco/Albus
Albus Severus is nothing like his father. It’s all those differences that Draco can’t stop thinking about.
Mothering Sunday by pauraque (T, 3.6k) - Astoria/Narcissa
Narcissa always wanted a little girl of her own, and Astoria never really had a proper Mum. Together they build something that neither of them ever knew was possible.
Home for the Holidays by @gracerene (E, 4k) - Charlie/James
Charlie was expecting a normal holiday season at home, surrounded by food, laughter, and the warm embrace of family. He didn't count on James taking that last bit quite so literally.
A Bigger Splash by @wolfpants (E, 7k) - Draco/Albus
It's his dad's 45th birthday in rural Sicily, and all Albus wants is to be seen by Draco Malfoy.
The Moral Dilemma of Sharing by carpemermaid (E, 7.7k) - Draco/Harry/Scorpius
After a handful of coincidental run-ins and a half-joking suggestion Draco and Scorpius had formed the habit of cruising together for wizards to pull on the weekends.
To Me You Are the Sea by marguerite_26 (E, 8.5k) - Harry/Scorpius
Scorpius dreaded attending Harry Potter's fiftieth birthday party for more reasons than he cared to admit.
Take Him to the Stars (Cut to the Feeling) by @writcraft (E, 10k) - Harry/Scorpius
Scorpius has a thing for older men. For one older man, in particular.
Unguarded by birdsofshore (E, 15k) - Draco/Albus
Staying with Scorpius for the first time proves to be more eventful than Albus expected, right from the moment when he walks in on Mr Malfoy shaving.
Team Players by @shiftylinguini (E, 15k) - Teddy/James, Oliver/James
Everyone has that one celebrity they’d move heaven and earth to get between their legs, and James Potter is no exception. He just never anticipated that number one on his Freebie List would end up in the same room as him, let alone would make the first move. But lucky for James, Teddy is a team player―well, he probably is, especially with what James is suggesting.
Possibly, Maybe by Curlee_Cue (E, 72k) - Harry/Scorpius
“A hand carefully brushed Scorpius’ hair out of his eyes and turned his head to face his rescuer. And of course, who else would it be, but Harry Potter? Once just an abstract legend, now his very own personal saviour.”

Jr Year ep 3
This is me live blogging bc I need to get thoughts out also would love fandom friends full spoilers bellow the cut just so no one accidentally reads anything they don’t want to this will be long
EX GIRLFRIEND I will legit fight Brennan why did we at least not see it....
btw me saying I will fight brennan is mostly a joke like I get why we made all these changes, I don't actually love everything but I do trust all these people enough that it will serve the story and play out great
Immediately clocking the fairy festival (Frosty whatever it is I'm so sorry Brenan says it and then it's immediately out of my head) connection we love
love love looove the aguefort projections, so many Arthur statues!
Riz's manic energy is such a vibe, not exactly healthy but a vibe I get
the astral realm where all the dead gods go
lowkey love that Gorgug and Fabian are solid like the boys lowkey play them so dumb but that's just teenage boys for ya (also thought maybe Fabian would be in less trouble but still some so this makes my anxiety relax a bit, only issues we already knew off)
Actually for the wizards I'm really chill is an A+ and also probably true sentence
ah the answer I needed about Fig's multiclass
Ah the society of shadows again, and a college for sad alone adventureres lol
their record is bad but it should be worse when talking about the one person sports team is SO FUNNY to me
the friends bit is so good, everythig about it, all the laughing, Emily failing intentionally, Ally letting it work even tho it shouldn't, perfection
Lydia still making half orc meals we love and stan
Adaine-Riz friendship is SO IMPORTANT to me
the sibbling energy our girls have are amazing
the Thisstlesprings will literally just go into sex ed and Gorgug's reaction is gold everytime
"Can I run from you?" LMAO
ok I'm getting the silly energy they were talking about now
listennnn we are gonna get into Gorgug isn't a good barbarian according to his teacher again aren't we? it's why it wasn't pre approved? I will fight this teacher he literally saved the world twice as mostly a barbarian let him be a chill barbarian
WHY DID GILLEAR NOT TALK TO FIG
yes Fabian make Fig go to class
yay new lunch lad
also I legit thought the time quangle was just an explain continuity errors away and also get rid of the agueforts who break encounters thing but it might be related to the plot now that it's come back up in the recap and in the intercom in story
Fig has Gillear's luck confirmed ok
Zac's physical comedy continues to be SO GOOD
the sillies really are here I'm laughing so much
straight away this lady is insane
four different dogs is such a good burn, love agro Kristen
do not trust this people at all
ohhh skullcleaver, Katya's aunt? cousin? I don't recall the seven mentioning that
listen Fabian's house being party house is lowkey dangerous
Kristen being a disaster gay even when trying to help friends flirt is a mood and a half
ooohh I like mazey
don't trust the attomaton tbh
also yes I just thought of this now so it's late but going back to Kipperlilly whatever her name is, like homegirl can't make big institutional changes youre class president not on staff
rules always being followed to the letter is tbh scary there has to be room for interpretation, perfect order doesn't exist
YES PLOT love how it's already too much bc mood and "yeah I cannot think about that right now" and "embodyment of writers block" oh this season is gonna continue to hit me in the face
Wanda Childa is wild
she was a turncoat, more importantly she was a mirror
why is Ally's hey girlie voice so terrifying
fully forgot porter was the barbarian teacher and I will fight porter LET GORGUG MULTICLASS...
aaaa I'm going into a worry is here, legit thought it was gonna be in battle but I love Gorgug's energy here bc I've been there where you do things kinda nontraditional way and have teachers make the achivements sound so much worse just bc i didn't get there through the path they wanted me to take
love terpsichore immediately
they get 30's fairly often now we love level 10
fabian is such an arsty kid at heart and always was like Lou wanted to make a jock maybe but never did
listen trashbag sandwich is worrying but it was indeed fine
I get that Riz is type A but he is the non annoying kind
homegirl who desn't like technicalities and ppl gettign away with stuff got out in one huh? also I have no idea what that means the teacher found her? what?
Jawbone I love you and also I worry about how much I relate to Riz
I so hate this girl I'm with Adaine, she's the worst we've had
oh no the Applebee's
ok so I have a huge like essay somewhere about both why I don't like how Kristen is dealing with Cassandra but also how I 10000% understand her as someone who abandoned religion but was then forced to still be in similar roles and religious enviornments after that somewher in my head buut also who cares but just know it exists
omg Bucky giving her a hug I cry
Kristen is not doing well but that was actually a pretty good parental confrontation tbh I'm proud
oh damn poor Adaine I'm sosorry my dear you don't deserve this
Brennan really went you know what? we are not having your wildness work for you this time Emily, your shit is catching up to you
yay fig went to class finally
we got SO many designs with all the teachers and such and they are all so great
oh nooo Kristeeen, each step I take the step behind me vanishes is such a raw ass line like this poor teenager is legit so lost like someone help her please (also that was a relatable little monologue.. am I ok?)
love the cleric teacher a lot
ok but i love cassandra alright twilight, mystery and doubt are such a cool ass domain you can sell it and embrace it Kristen I belive in youuuu
but also again: a good ass teacher
awn I love that they're back in the forest
again Siobhan promised no taers and I have cried twice now maybe three times in three eps??? rude af
the bad kids should've helped with the whole Cassandra stuff I just realised I'm so sorry
oh shit not Kalina again.... I feel like i got stabbed in the heart
oh I am sooo pumped for next ep!!!!!

My farmer’s closest relationships and the vibes of them
Because I love my farmer daughter very much
Maru
Wife wife wife wife
She loves her very much
Very dog/dog type relationship
Like, Squid (farmer) will find a cool rock and go show Maru said rock and they can spend an entire day getting excited over some rock Squid found lying around
Squid’s a very physical affection type gal so lots of cuddles and kisses anytime Maru’s in view
Really supportive of her goals and is currently helping Maru through uni as she studies engineering (my head canon)
Linus
Spends quite a bit of time just chilling in the forest with him, sometimes they forage together but only during the berry seasons
Will show off any good quality foragables she finds to him, she trusts his judgement on anything natural
Frequently tells him all the town gossip because she knows he won’t tell and she would not be able to keep it a secret if she didn’t tell at least one person
Penny
First best friend in the valley
Squid is an English major so she spends a lot of time gossiping and sharing books with her
Gives her as much positive reassurance as possible (cause she doesn’t really like Pam and knows Penny’s home life sucks)
Has offered for penny to stay with her and Maru if she wants but she’s always refused Lel
Sebastian
Her brother-in-law who she just considers a brother at this point
She loves to annoy him a lot and he does it back
Very much sibling relationship vibes
This also helped bring Sebastian and Maru closer together as siblings so that’s good 👍🏻
She tends to join the D&D type sessions whenever possible cause they’re all nerds (affectionately and also calling myself out)
One of the few people able to get away with being physically affectionate with him Lel
Sam
They have a very childish relationship xD
They became friends when Sam began to insult her and say she dressed like an old man whenever she walked past his house, and they’ve been close ever since
They also see eachother frequently in the D&D sessions
Sam is giving Squid skateboarding lessons in exchange for her to teach him some Spanish (because he wants to be able to speak one of the languages of love ;) )
Noogying all around!
Rasmodius (Wizard)
She’s a pain in the backside to him but alas he’s found himself attached
She considers him a cool magic uncle while he sees her as an annoying child he got stuck with
She’s teaching him the ways of socialising and trying to get him to be less socially constipated. Emphasis on trying, man has not gotten out since he knocked up Caroline by the sounds of it
He appreciates her efforts and is trying his best. In exchange he tries to teach her about magic, which is going about as successfully as her teaching him is going 🤷
Willy
She loves her fisher grandpa man
They often go fishing together and this has bonded them as fishing partners for life
Much like Linus and Mary whenever she finds a cool or particularly impressive fish she is immediately showing it to him
He’s very happy to have a fellow fisher in town and is also glad the younger generation will keep fishing alive :)
Krobus
Squatting in the sewers chatting with Krobus is one of her favourite past times
She spends a lot of time explaining human traditions and society to Krobus while he does the same for his people
She also chewed out the Dwarf after the almost-fight scene happens
The pair just like chilling 🤷

wishlist for Junior year
Since Junior year is happening in January I thought I'd make a quick list of a few things I personally want to happen next season. You're free to tell me what you think, disagree, agree, hell add more if you're interested.
I want the maps back- I completely understand why they did the show like they did for their live show, but I miss the Rick Perry maps that were so cool. Also Brennan has a lot of epic battles that are kind of hard for me to visualize because I have adhd and missing one thing he says can confuse me for the whole battle. Seeing mini's really helps me keep things straight
less NPC interactions- the NPC's are not bad, by any means, I love the hirelings and the romance partners, but I feel like including them on the adventure lessened the interactions between the Bad Kids. Like Tracker and Kristen for a large part of the adventure were attatched at the hip, and other places, Gorgug spent a lot of his time trying to patch up his relationship with Zelda, Ayda gets a lot of interactions with Fig and Adaine, but there isn't a lot of time for the three of them just one on one leaving the other out more. Just me personally I would like if the season focused more on the party and their relationships
(I want to be clear, I don't want no interactions with our beloved NPC's just less them being part of the adventure and more them being NPC's that help and exist but aren't the DM's Player Characters)
I hope they stay in Elmville or at the very least Solace- I loved Sophomore Year, but a lot of the charm of the first season of Fantasy High was the unique setting they were in. An urban fantasy world where a large part of the population were adventurers. It felt more unique compared to Sophomore year's more high fantasy, but with people who know modern technology. Even if they leave Elmville, I wouldn't mind them exploring Solace as a whole to see what their country is like outside of their small town. (I want to more campaigns exploring Spyre too, but even with the Seven they leave Solace by ep 3 and spend most of their time in other countries in Spyre, I want to see what a modern urban fantasy setting is like)
Adaine using the Sword of Sight, wizard or not, as a high elf she's proficient in swords and with her boosted strength and her desire to punch/hit people it's perfect. I know cantrips will still be the better option, but when has Adaine, I punch my sister in the face, Abernant done the more efficient option. Adaine is my favorite character so I'd just like to see her being the terrible chaos gremlin that I know she's capable of being.
Hallariel- I'd like to see her in battle if only once. I know I said I would like the NPC presence lessened, but I still want to see what Fabian's hot mom can do in a real fight. We've only seen her talked about as the best swordswoman in the world by Bill who himself is fearsome with a blade, but we only see her train/threaten her son. Even if it's a possession or mind control situation I'd like to see her in battle, even if it's against the Bad Kids.
For some reason I want a battle at a Fig and the Sig Figs concert- I don't really know why I want this, but I really liked the Broadway brawl ep of Unsleeping city, it made for some cool rules and the like and I would like, a less stressful, but still fight in the crowd of people while Fig and Gorgug are on stage.
Consequences for the Bad Kids and their friends/family- I don't really know where I'm going with this, but I just feel like the Bad Kids get away with a lot of stuff because that's how Elmville works, but I kind of liked how they suffered consequences near the end of Freshman year, even if I think months in Jail was a lazy way for Brennan to do a time skip until the finale battle. (I love the guy, but I believe what I believe). But specifically about YES! the god Kristen created and abandoned, creating a god and orphaning it should have more consequences than throwing out a sweater that you don't like any more. Are Adaine and Aelwyn treated differently given that their parents started a war over Aelwyn and wars have consequences, people died and have people to mourn them who probably aren't too keen on the two abernants in their country after that.
I'd like cameos by the Seven, not just Zelda.- again, I know I said less NPC presence, but still, they don't necessarily have to be NPC's just saying if someone wanted to drop by and play for an episode or 2. The Seven is probably my favorite D20 season and I would love to see what my girls are up to.
There's more that I might add, but this is it for now

Say question, do you have a post talking about Wizard of Od allusions in RWBY? Some are pretty obvious, such as the Tinman, Ironheart, rejecting his hummanity/heart, and Leo Lionheart being the cowardly lion. But do you have a detailed breakdown about Gylinda, Qrow and Ozpin in regards to their allusions?
And is Ruby Dorothy as well as Little Red Ridding Hood? Or is there no Dorothy?
Hi!
I have never written a whole meta dedicated to The Wizard of Oz in RWBY, but I think there are some pieces here and there.
Anyway, I don't know the story super well, so I am rather sure I am missing several details. That said, here are some thoughts on the Wizard of Oz Allusion in RWBY.
First of all, this allusion works on two different levels:
It interests the World of Remnant
It interests individual characters
WORLD ALLUSION
The world of Remnant has become the Kingdom of Oz, not because it is based uniquely on this narrative world, but rather because it is the fruit of an endless conflict between The Wizard of Oz and the Evil Witch of the West.
Ozpin and Salem's feud has been defining the world for centuries, so their allusion has ended up permeating all of Remnant.
By this, I mean that the entirety of Remnant is ruled by "Wizard of Oz"'s characters:
Ozpin is the Wizard of Oz > Beacon
Leo is the Cowardly Lion > Mistral
Ironwood is the Tin Man > Atlas
Theodore is Dorothy > Vacuo
Moreover, we have Qrow (the Scarecrow) and Glynda (The Good Witch of the North) as Oz's henchmen. Do you see the pattern? The most influencial people in Remnant are all linked to Oz and all reference characters of his fairy tale. All together they are the crew chosen by the Wizard to defeat the Evil Witch of the West.
In short, Oz allusion has "conquered the world" because Ozpin and Salem are too intertwined with the history of Remnant (they basically made it).
However, this doesn't meant RWBY is a re-telling of the Oz's books. It references them, sure, but RWBY's narrative universe is wider, as we saw this volume.
In volume 8, the characters step away from the yellow brick road and enter a brand new world:
Tumblr media
The Ever After, aka Wonderland. A completely different setting for a completely different story. A story, which is really not defined by Salem and Ozma, but rather by Alyx and Lewis.
Meta-narratively, the characters leave Ozma and Ozpin's story for a while and enter into Alyx's adventure. This is also why the main plot is on break this season.
OZ CHARACTERS: OLD GENERATION VS NEW GENERATION
As mentioned above, Ozpin's crew all allude to Oz's characters. Still, they are actually inversions of their literary counterparts. To be specific, they fail, where their characters succeed:
The Cowardly Lion wants courage, but Lionheart betrays Ozpin and sides with Salem out of fear. He gives up his bravery.
The Scarecrow wants a brain, but Qrow decides to blindly follow Oz without asking himself any question about him. He gives thinking for himself.
The Tin-Man wants a heart, but Ironwood chooses to lose his hunamity to become a machine. He gives up his feelings.
It is too soon to comment on Theodore's allusion on Dorothy, but he will probably be an inversion too.
What is sure is that Ozpin's crew is made of adults that have been traumatized and corrupted by the long war they have been fighting. This is where the new generation comes in.
Blake, Yang and Weiss allude to Dorothy's three friends:
Blake is the Cowardly Lion - she starts the story as a "scaredy-cat", but learns to conquer her fears and stops running away
Yang is the Scarecrow - she starts the story as a "himbo", but she grows smarter and wiser
Weiss is the Tin-Man - she starts the story as an "ice-queen", but she grows warmer and kinder
Notice that "bravery", "heart" and "brain" fit the body, heart and mind archetypes, which are very easily found in stories. This is why the fandom is able to apply these three allusions rather easily in the series. Basically, any character is either mind or heart :P (see, you can also see Blake as the mind to Yang's heart).
So, why do I say BYW allude to these specific characters? They do because of 2 reasons:
Some motifs they have confirm this
They all foil their respective older counterpart when it comes to their overal story-line and flaw
Blake and Lionheart
Blake is a scaredy-cat, while Lionheart is supposedly the Cowardly Lion. Both are Faunus in a position of power. Blake is the daughter of the Chief of Managerie, while Leo is the Headmaster of Haven. So, both are in a position where they can change things for the Faunus. Still, they both are afraid.
Blake is scared of Adam and this is why she leaves her group of friends and goes back home, where she thinks she will be safe. She temporally runs away from the main battle, seeking refuge in an island, which is peaceful, but also a prison.
Lionheart is scared of Salem, so he chooses to switch sides in an attempt to survive. He runs away from the battle metaphorically and later on he does so even physically, as his last action is to escape leaving EM and Hazel on their own.
In the end, though, Blake comes back and decides to fight for what is right. Lionheart instead doesn't and is punished with death. Blake is a scaredy cat, but she is also braver than everyone else. Lionheart is a lion, but he is a coward.
Blake and Lionheart's foiling is ultimately about what they do and don't do for the Faunus, especially. After all, Lionheart was supposedly put in charge of Mistral because a Faunus as an authority figure seemed like the best option to overcome racism in the Kingdom. And yet, Blake's actions in Mistral do more good for that than anything Lioheart has ever done.
Yang and Qrow
Yang and Qrow's foiling is about their relationship with Raven and Oz, really.
Qrow trusts Ozpin blindly and doesn't mind Raven's doubts or reservations. He refuses Raven's philosophy of asking the right questions:
Raven: Now you're catching on. So far you've done nothing but accept what others tell you, (puts her cup down) but you need to question everything.
Yang instead does integrate this part in her and starts asking questions of both Raven and Ozpin, aka her two main authority figures. This leads her to become wiser:
Yang: No, I'm starting to ask questions like you said. So tell me… what happened to the last Spring Maiden? Did she die in battle? Was it sickness?
When the truth about Ozpin comes out, Qrow and Yang are among the most disturbed by it because they are both triggered. Qrow dedicated his whole life to a man, who was never honest with him. Yang instead gets angry at another authority figure "running away". However, Yang has grown enough to withstand the setback, while Qrow is undone.
In short, Yang and Qrow's foiling is really about demanding the truth from the people they are following and learning to think with their own heads. It is about accepting the complexity of the world and to carve their own paths. Without letting others lead them around.
As an additional note, Yang fits the Scarecrow symbolism for a very heartbreaking reason. Scarecrows are meant to scare ravens and crows and the Oz character initially can't fulfill this purpose. The birds tell him he is too stupid to really scare them. So, the Scarecrow wants to become smarter.
Well, Yang does become smarter, but her wisdom is so keen it drives a cowardly bird away:
Tumblr media
Weiss and Ironwood
Weiss and Ironwood are both Atlas elite, who learnt to suppress their feelings in order to meet the impossible expectations of their society.
They have the same problem: mind and heart contradict each other. It is just that Weiss chooses to follow her heart and becomes one:
I'm shattering the mirror that kept me split in pieces That stood between my mind and my heart This is where I'll start
Ironwood instead chooses to negate his hear and becomes no-one:
What if it’s true as they say That I don’t have a heart That I'm more a machine than a man? What would that change? Would it matter at all? I've made my plan Hearts and minds may not agree Emotions topple strategy
This juxtaposition is well conveyed through their shared Tin-Man motif...
Weiss's Tin Man is a proud Knight:
Tumblr media
Ironwood's Tin Man is a mindless robot:
Tumblr media
Let's highlight the first time Weiss summons her Knight is after all in juxtaposition to a hacked Paladin, which is used to attack people, rather than to protect them. So, we have our Brave Knight vs a Mindles Robot.
Other than them, there is another old vd new generation foiling going on (obviously):
Tumblr media
Ozpin/Oscar where Ozpin is the old generation wizard, who gave up on trust, while Oscar is the new generation wizard who keeps having faith no matter what.
Their foiling is explored also through their allusions:
Ozpin alludes to the wizard of Oz > an impostor who acts as an almightly being
Oscar alludes to princess Ozma/Top > the true Queen of Oz
Ironically, Ozpin's real name is Ozma, while Oscar's name is the one of the Wizard. So, they are like... criss-crossed.
Oscar's introduction happening after Beacon also makes sense because... in the books the first novel focuses on the Wizard of Oz and Dorothy, while Ozma is introduced only in a later book. So, the moment our wizard (Ozpin) is death, our Princess Ozma (Oscar) is introduced. Other then this, Oscar's developing bond with Emerald may allude to the Emerald City aka the Town ruled by the Wizard where everyone wears green-glasses, which make everything appears as green.
Now then, what about Dorothy?
TWO DOROTHIES
Apart from Theodore (the titular Dorothy), I think there are 2 other characters that fit the description:
Tumblr media
Both Ruby and Oscar allude to Dorothy in different ways:
Oscar lives in a farm with his aunt before going on an adventure and during his journey, he gains a pair of red boots. If you follow this reasoning, then you can headcanon JNR as another trio that loosely fits the Cowardly Lion (Jaune maybe), the Scarecrow (Nora) and the Tin Man (Ren). Still, I think they fit less.
Ruby is noticed by the titular Wizard of Oz because of her silver eyes, whereas Dorothy's slippers are silver in the books. She leaves for a journey in order to fix a world the Wizard is unable to fix
Not only that, but RWBY's main-plot loosely follows that of the classical Oz story. Ruby meets the Wizard and is given the mission to defeat the Evil Witch of the West with 3 friends (each lacking something). During her journeys she meets Oscar (Ozma). Moreover, the reason why the Evil Witch of the West is interested in her is her silver eyes. An ability that emerges when Ruby uses it against Cinder aka a younger version of the Witch herself. In the classical Oz story, Dorothy's arrival in Oz kills another less powerful evil witch and she takes the slippers as a result. Here, Ruby uses her eyes on Cinder and then she is targeted by Salem.
Notice also that Ruby's volume 4 short has her fighting this:
Tumblr media
Specifically she goes from Bewolves (LRRH's story) to this very intelligent Monkey Grimm (Oz's allusion). It is as if Ruby's personal arc is LRRH, but her journey when it comes to the bigger picture is similar to Dorothy's.
Thank you for the ask!

I’ll need a few days to really process the last episode, so don’t expect any meta until the weekend.
But I wanted to write a post about why I believe in the writers and why I think that … this sounds so arrogant and delusional, but that my predictions here* are roughly what will happen and queer folks can stay hopeful.
(*tl;dr: Essentially that Colin will be the inspiration for main characters to address their queerness, Ted Lasso spent two seasons straightbaiting its entire audience and this season will end queer as fuck)
When I started watching Ted Lasso I thought it would be a fun, but silly little sports comedy, but very soon it got obvious how the show featured heavier themes and that they didn’t follow the expected script. Like, when Rebecca tells Ted the truth, you’d normally get some drama and rising conflict – but we got instant forgiveness.
And it got soon obvious we’d get a love triangle with Jamie, Keeley and Roy and – as someone who knows how the script goes – my first assumption was, that Roy x Keeley will be endgame (which was sad, since I adored Jamie x Keeley from the beginning, but I digress).
But some of the things that usually put me off love triangles were missing: there was no prolonged unnecessary drama after Roy learned that Keeley hooked up with Jamie the night before, Jamie and Roy didn’t fight over who would “get” Keeley (even though Roy’s jealousy sure was one reason for the tension between him and Jamie, but it wasn’t the only one), Jamie didn’t try to actively win Keeley back throughout the second season, he didn’t try to sabotage their relationship, even though he still loved her. The rocky parts in Roy’s and Keeley’s relationship weren’t related to Jamie at all, on the contrary, Jamie kind of unintentionally fixed their problems.
So, when they diverge so much from the expected, should I really still assume they’ll end the show with the thing everyone expects to happen? (like, in classic romance structure, Roy and Keeley now had their third act break-up, that always happens before the happily ever after … but as Phil said in an interview, they’re situation is a lot more complex than you’ll usually get.)
So, anyway, Ted Lasso was playing with expectations from the beginning. You’d expect Ted x Rebecca and Roy x Keeley endgame cause that is how the classic narrative works but the show subverted classic structure in the first season. So why should we assume that they just stick to the classic script now?
Also the theme song:
“Yeah, might be all that you get,
Yeah, I guess this might well be it“
I always thought, for an optimistic show like Ted Lasso this was a kinda sober beginning. But if you look at this with a queer eye … Cishet people are so used to seeing their happy endings playing out, so that is what they’ll expect to get. Until the last couple years, queer people barely got any stories with happy endings, so you didn’t exactly grow up with the expectation you’ll get a happy ending.
So you just had to take what you got.
But on the other hand the song has this hopeful bit about trying and not giving up. And … okay, I’m not sure where I’m going with this, but, idk, it just feels like it would fit as the theme song for an ultimately hella queer show?
And there are a lot of allusions to “The Wizard of Oz”, starting with the title of the first episode, Ted being the “Man from Kansas” aka Dorothy – googling I found this post pointing out a lot parallels in the second season, so it is not just me being delusional again.
For context: The movie was released 1939. Between 1934 and 1968 due to the Hays Code people couldn’t be shown as being explicitly queer in movies in the US, so writers started to queercode characters to still indicate queerness. And there is of course queercoding in “The Wizard of Oz” just like Ted Lasso and the movie as a whole resonated a lot with queer audiences, making Judy Garland a Gay Icon (see here).
Both the movie and L. Frank Baumans novels have a lot of queer subtext (like, there is even kind of a trans character in the novels?). "Friend of Dorothy” was a way gay men referred to each other at a time, where they couldn’t just openly ask about someone’s orientation.
Fun Fact: The movies title song “Over the Rainbow” soon became a queer anthem and people wondered whether it inspired the rainbow flag. But the creator, Gilbert Baker, said he was inspired by,
wait for it,
“She’s a Rainbow” by the Rolling Stones (see here).
Rings a bell?
The episode “Rainbow”?
Roy returning as a coach to Richmond?
Also: Jamie comparing the team to the Rolling Stones? Himself to Mick Jagger and Roy to Keith Richards, who both wrote the song?
And, looking at episode titles some more: The color "Lavender" is so queer it has it's own LGTBQ-section on Wikipedia. Also the bisexual pride flag, where the colours overlap to form lavender? There was probably some other reason I forgot that the episode where Jamie returned was called like the queerest color ever, but still …
WHAT A BUNCH OF CURIOUS COINCIDENCES!
Oh God, the more I look, the queerer everything gets! I think I could go on some more, but I need to get breakfast and then some work done.

Gantlos’s Unknown Plan
Hey, so does anyone remember in season 4, episode 5, just after the Winx stop the wizards’ spell on the pets by feeding them, and just before the wizards teleport away, Ogron says: ‘Gantlos, you were right. Next time we’ll do it your way.’ Now, across the whole episode we haven’t heard Gantlos mention anything about his way, or any alternate plan he may have had. (Actually, we haven’t heard Gantlos say anything, really, but that’s a separate issue.) Ogron didn’t mention it before that point either. And ‘next time’ is when they track Roxy down because the Winx approached her. (That isn’t confirmed, but if they could track her, they’d have done so already, and it feels too coincidental for it not to be due to the Winx finding Roxy.) Unless Gantlos can see the future, that can’t have been his plan. So we’re left in the dark about what his idea was.
Was it related to the pets? To the spell? The store? Or was it something totally unrelated? Did it involve targeting the Winx? Maybe he wanted to go after the Specialists? Or something else! A friend and I are very, very curious about what his plan was; maybe it would have worked! (And it almost certainly wouldn’t have been undone by pet food.) So I’m asking if anyone has any ideas about what his plan might have been. If you do, please share them! I’m really interested to hear what you think.
My theory is that he wanted to just fight the Winx. They already knew they could beat them; the only reason the Winx had walked away from those last fights was because Ogron had ordered them to retreat. It’s a simple plan, but effective. With the Winx gone, there would be no-one to stop them stealing the powers of the last Earth fairy. But perhaps Ogron disliked the idea of another head-on confrontation, and preferred his idea of attempting to take the Winx out using a spell. And when that failed, he admitted that they just needed the Winx out of the way, so he agreed with Gantlos’s strategy. Of course, before they could enact it, the Winx found Roxy, they gained Believix, and a confrontation became a lot less desirable as the Winx gained the ability to finally do some damage, so they continued with Ogron’s strategies.
But that’s just my theory! It’s not massively complicated, but Gantlos feels like quite a straightforward kind of guy, so his plans would likely not be as convoluted as Ogron’s. Please, tell me what you think! Share your theories!

HI! IM PUTTING MY CASTLEVANIA SEASON 3 EPISODE 9 (and a little of episode 10) THOUGHTS INTO THE WORLD! HERES YOUR SPOILER WARNING NOW!!
oh my god, ok, so. The absolute MADNESS of this episode starts LESS THAN 4 MINUTES IN TO A 28 MINUTE LONG EPISODE. That’s 24 whole minutes of death defining battles and really controlling s3x.
I mean like, the fights were really cool, they were interesting to watch, ISAAC? Bro that’s insane, I really liked the whole mind control concept that town had, I also don’t think the wizard spoke a word the whole time which was an interesting dynamic for a fight. Isaac breaking out of the mind control is like WOO GO ISAAC. But by far, (and yes im aware this was SUPPOSED to be serious) I found all the people slo-mo falling from the building quite funny for some reason?? I guess it was just unexpected.
Then there’s the whole alucard situation, SUMI AND TAKA? WHAT THE FUCK GUYS? YOU WERE GOOD CHARACTERS HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? WHEN DID THINGS CHANGE?? they were genuinely enjoyable, alucard seemed SAD he genuinely seemed like he wanted them to stay as long as possible! THEY COULD SEE HE WAS LONELY 😭 AND THEY USED IT AGAINST HIM! They basically seduced him, tied him up, TRIED TO KILL HIM. And died. They deserved to die hurting the poor dude like that. Alucard has scars everywhere now and I feel so bad for himmm
Trevor and sypha, good lord. POINT 1: SYPHA WAS RIGHT. SHE SAID, “do you think we can wait?” AND JUDGE BEING DUMBBB went “this is my town. You will do as I say >:(“ AND IT MAKES ME SO MAD! SHE CANT DO ANYTHING AND SHE KNOWSSS. “I just didn’t see it” GRAH POINT 2: that WHOLE fight, oh my god, the FIRE the MONSTERS PRIOR “DRUGLORD” SALA. The whole thing was constructed really well, AND SEEING DRACULA AND LISA. AFTER THE END OF EPISODE 9 IT ALMOST MADE ME THINK IT WAS ALUCARD THEY WERE SEEING. JEEZ IT WAS CONSTRUCTED WELL.
And lastly, my dear wife Lenore, I love her with all my heart BUT WHAT A TWISTED WOMAN?? OH MY GOD POOR HECTOR. IN THE BEGINNING I THOUGHT “oh this has to be more consensual than what’s going on with alucard, she’s probably just Seducing him 🤷‍♀️” WRONG. THE SLAVE RING? THAT LOOKS LIKE IT HURT. AND ALL THEIR SCENES I FEEL LIKE ARE WILDLY MORE REVEALING THAN ANYTHING WITH ALUCARD. BUT SERIOUSLY, That whole plan was really pulled off SO WELL she did a very good job of keeping her own face while KNOWING exactly what she was doing every step of the way. All in all this whole episode pulls together really well into a shamble of absolute terror. And I love it.

knight squad: if we had a 4 season run
i’ve been thinking a lot of thoughts about how amazing knight squad would have been with a proper four season run. i don’t think i would ever have the energy to write a full fanfic, but it’s been five years since the show’s conclusion, so i wanted to share some of my ideas. here’s a 2k outline on how i think the plot could have gone:
season 1
season 1 is already pretty god-tier in my opinion, so i wouldn’t change much! i think they covered a lot in terms of character and relationship development, and did a great job building an interesting plot that tied back in the finale.
one of the things i would change though is the whole presentation of ciara/princess, and how it’s done through her hair. i’ve seen some discussion about it floating around before, so some of y’all probably know where i’m getting at with this. i don’t know if it was intentional, but the implications of her straightened/relaxed hair being part of what makes her elegant is really questionable  to me and i do find it racist. i do like her loose curls for ciara because being ciara is when she gets to let loose and be who she really is. but for the princess, i think they really could have done another style like braids, or have her hair tied up in a bun to represent how she is holding herself back, or have her hair wrapped. i also think they could have incorporated other ways to show the difference between the princess and ciara that don’t rely on hair – facial markings/face paint for the royal family, or the princess covers her face with a face veil.
also just. give her a name!!! for the fanfic writers if not for anyone else. i know it’s a kid’s show and they probably didn’t want to make it too confusing or something, but also kids are not that dumb.
in terms of character, in the show, arc adapts to being part of a team really well. personally, i would have drawn that out, and had a plot where arc needs to get used to being on a team after being a lone wolf for so long and learning how to trust the others to have his back. i think the writers almost went in that direction, because in the pilot when the phoenix squad is assigned to fight the stone knight, arc tells them to step back and says he has it, and ciara says “but we’re supposed to be a team!” but he ignores her. and it works out okay that time, but i expected it to come back later and it was just dropped. so this is something i would have developed over the course of the season, and then everyone coming together to save him from ryker in the season finale being the culmination of him realizing he has people to watch his back now and he isn’t alone.
season 2
okay so you know how i kept most of season 1? yeah we’re doing the opposite for season 2. we’re throwing pretty much all of it out. yEET. prudy and warwick are not going to find out right at the beginning of the season, we’re not getting the ciara and sage relationship development quite yet, no one is getting knighted, and there’s no weird superhero episode with trolls that are   antisemitic caricatures.
however, there will be more plots centered around prudy and warwick. we get to see more of prudy’s giant background, and warwick struggling to live up to his family name and what being a magical wizard means. so there are episodes like the election episode and the one with warwick’s dad.
at the same time, we get more of the relationships in the phoenix squad, and arc and ciara will also start to realize how hard it is keeping their secrets from their best friends. they have some really close calls when it comes to balancing their secrets with their friendships.
arc and ciara also start having some romantic development in the latter half of the season, but it happens subtly. like people thinking they’re a couple leading to awkward denial, seeing the other dressed up for an event and having that “whoa” moment, being unusually jealous or protective, etc.
okay i really want an episode where there’s just a shit ton of miscommunication and the princess accidentally agrees to a date with warwick and he’s over the moon but ciara is panicking because she can’t break his heart while arc’s pretending he isn’t jealous
A TRUTH SPELL EPISODE. sort of combining both of the two big threads this season. arc gets hit by a truth spell by accident and they have to wait for it to wear off and it leads to all sort of chaos as arc and ciara try to make sure their secrets don’t get out so ciara is just covering his mouth and trying to make excuses. and then, at the end of the episode, he’s alone with prudy and warwick who have caught on that arc does have a secret and they’re grilling him, and he blurts out that he has feelings for ciara, which even he didn’t realize until he said it. the spell finally wears off and prudy and warwick are shocked enough to let him go, and he runs off only to bump into ciara (who had been called away for a princess-related thing), and she’s apologizing to him for having to leave him alone and asks if he revealed anything important to anyone, and he’s just like “....no.”
midway through the season, we also begin building up to the next overarching plot. it might be interesting to focus a bit on astorian court politics, which leads to the reveal of an internal conspiracy to take down dragonbloods and take over the throne. (note: the leader of this conspiracy was the one behind ciara’s mother being taken away.) sort of leads to the realization of how messed up it is that only dragonbloods have power in astoria. the season finale has them facing off against this antagonist, and they win, but the antagonist runs away.
warwick and prudy find out about arc and ciara’s secrets at the end of the season!
also sage and buttercup are canon. because this is my plot outline and i say so.
season 3
this season begins with warwick and prudy learning what it means to be secret keepers, even though they’re struggling a bit. arc and ciara and understandably frustrated, but when it matters, warwick and prudy do come through, and they get better about it over time.
warwick and prudy are also trying to figure out their roles on the team, especially as they feel like they’re the weaker links.
meanwhile, ciara is stepping into her role as the princess and trying to force actual change regarding the dragonblood laws in astoria, having learned from the events of last season.
arc is supporting her, but he’s also starting to feel a bit homesick. we get at least a couple episodes centered around seagate when phoenix squad takes a trip to his hometown which is in the process of rebuilding in the aftermath of ryker. they get caught up in a pirate plot!
they also discover that ryker’s army hasn’t entirely been dissolved, and some of them still hope to bring ryker back.
arc and ciara starting to have some legit romantic development as they realize their feelings. throw in a fake dating episode because it would be cute. they also kiss at least once during this development period - for quest purposes of course, and it’s “completely platonic” (it isn’t, both feel things). both of them are too scared of ruining their relationship as friends to pursue more though, and they’re worried about how it would affect their team.
prudy and warwick do not think their squad will be affected and are very much rooting for this!!!
ciara also starts becoming friends with sage (although they would never admit it)! bonding as the princess, and respecting her more as a classmate. phoenix squad and kraken squad work together more often.
despite their attempts to prevent it, last season’s antagonist returns and helps bring ryker back. the villains team up, vowing to not just take over astoria, but destroy it.
the season ends with astoria learning about the danger of ryker coming back and needing more knights, so phoenix squad, kraken squad, and unicorn squad are all knighted. ciara passes her laws against dragonbloods being the only ones allowed to be knights, and their secrets come out to the kingdom.
arc and ciara’s relationship development also reaches the natural conclusion and they officially become a couple after a scare during the final battle where they realize they could have lost each other.
season 4
season four shifts a bit in vibes because all the secrets are out and everyone has officially been knighted, so ideally we would have gotten some fancier new set locations
phoenix squad and kraken squad are officially knighted, but that doesn’t prevent their rivalry. however, this leads to issues, and they quickly realize they’re no longer in training and they genuinely need to have each other’s backs.
arc and ciara are also adjusting to working together while dating. they’re both really protective and keep trying to look out for each other on the battlefield, and it leads to some slip ups at first because they feel like they’re out of sync and maybe they worked better as friends. but they ultimately realize they help make each other better, and fighting together becomes even better because they’ll always have each other’s backs
we bring in the plot with ciara’s mom - eliza comes back with evidence that their mother is still alive and out there. phoenix squad follows up on the lead, and eventually they find her mother and bring her home. however, their mother doesn’t remember anything which is why she never came back even after she escaped her confinement, so they have to find a way to bring her memories back.
but is everything as it seems? ciara is unsure her mother is the same woman she remembers. she catches her mother sneaking out, and she worries that her mother has turned traitor. but it’s revealed that her mother is actually protecting a secret - a dragon egg, for the last dragon in astoria.
pet dragon for the squad!!! it imprints the most on ciara and sage, and they grudgingly co-parent. arc and buttercup are definitely not jealous of their partners spending so much time together (they absolutely are).
slobwick also hates the baby dragon for taking his place as beloved adorable pet. however slobwick is an evil furby and we should not feel bad for him.
fizzwick has begun training as a knight with his own squad! prudy and warwick end up teaching every now and then (as do the others at times, but this is mostly for them), and they are determined to be good role models. however, they have no idea how to keep up with the Kids These Days, and end up learning some things about valuing themselves and their own self-worth.
also, prudence and warwick do get their own romantic plots during this time! whether they stick around or are minor remains the question….
meanwhile, the ryker plot continues to develop, leading to some dramatic, escalating clashes. this time, ciara believes they need to work more with the other five kingdoms. we return to seagate, as well as visit other locations and have other kingdom representatives come to astoria for a summit meeting. there are lots of disagreements, and ends up one kingdom is working against them, their ruler being a puppet who is actually the astorian court official from season 2. at the end of the day, the remaining four realize they must unite to bring peace.
the series conclusion ends with a dramatic final battle working with the other squads and kingdoms as they take down ryker and the other antagonist once and for all, restoring peace.
close out on phoenix squad, reaffirming their promise to always be there for each other and protect the kingdom as they look forward to the future.

Sofia the First Season 2 in a Nutshell
Two Princesses and a Baby - 10/10
Amber wishes she wouldnt have to share her birthday with her twin James, so he gets magically turned into a toddler. Hijnks ensue. Another brilliant moment of character growth for Amber and showing how much she really cares for James, despite them being polar opposites.
The Enchanted Feast - 9/10
Miss Nettle returns disguised as a visiting sorceress in order to steal the amulet but Sofia is having none of that shit so she gets her critter army to stop Nettle. Also Snow White is here in properly the best media appearance she will ever get since Kingdom Hearts
The Flying Crown - 3/10
Sofia befriends the brooding jock Prince Hugo cos apparently she doesnt have a life. Look, I know you need to work with him to do your flying derby race, Sof, but dont bother with this Hunter expy.
Mom's The Word - 10/10
Its Sofia's first Mother's Day in the castle and she gets left out when her mother is spending more time with Amber and James. One of the show's core themes is teaching kids about blended families and Sofia struggling to adjust sharing her mother with her step siblings is very potent.
The Silent Knight - 4/10
Aunt Tilly falls for some NPC knight, when Cedric is right over there. Like show, if you were gonna ship any couple. I want sorceror failhusband and chaotic adventurer wife. Or hell, the drama teacher Miss Elodie for a gay option.
Enchanted Science Fair - 7/10
James, Amber, Vivian, Khaled and Desmond fight each over a science project but they all realise that Sofia is always right and they would all be dead without her.
King For A Day - 6/10
James tries being king to see what its like and yknow, this episode's hilarious to watch in hindsight cos its revealed James isnt even the heir to the throne lol
When You Wish Upon a Well - -4/10
Amber does something incredibly illegal but gets off the hook cos Sofia and their dad are enablers
Gizmo Gwen - 8/10
Aw cool, a castle maid who's also an inventor and engineer! What a wonderful addition to the ca-annnnd she's not gonna appear for the rest of the series, is she?
Sofia the Second - 10/10
Sofia learning about how to keep promises even if it means giving up something else? An evil Sofia clone who's a delightfully evil gremlin? Sign me the fuck up!
Mystic Meadows - 8/10
Sofia's girl scout group goes to a wizard retirement home where Cedric's parents live and she helps Cedric win his dad's approval and stop his micromanaging bs. Also, Hell canonically exists in Sofia the First and that fact alone is both disturbing and hilarious
Princesses to the Rescue! - 9/10
James and his friend Jin get captured by a discount Tai Lung and their dads end up being captured too cos theyre that stupid. So its up to Sofia, Jun and Amber to save the day. Also Mulan is here and its a nice touch they gave her the armour she worn throughout most of her original movie.
Ghostly Gala - 7/10
On Halloween, Sofia befriends the undead and convinces everyone in the castle that they're not seeing things, honest. Seriously, this girl could befriend Eldritch monsters and convince everyone that they're chill.
The Emerald Key - 10/10
A Hawaiian princess has lost a precious heirloom and washes up on the shores of Enchancia, calling for help. Another Hawaiian princess shows up, declaring shes the real deal. The Enchanican royal family immediately decide the best way to tell these two indigenous princesses apart is to get them to partake in white royal etiquette and activities and automatically assume the one doing the best at all of them is the real princess. Sofia realises that the imposter is always the whitewashed one.
Scrambled Pets - 5/10
Pet hijinks: the episode
The Princess Stays in the Picture - 3/10
Man, after Amber became a good person, the writers really doubled down on making her friend Hildegarde the new alpha bitch. Supposedly this was the episode to humanise her but honestly after watching this whole series, she really hasnt improved since this episode so it feels like lightning in a bottle we will never get again. The highlight was definitely Sofia yelling at Hildegarde's constant know it all attitude.
Baileywhoops - 8/10
Finally, Baileywick gets a good episode. I love the idea that Baileywick is such a good steward that EVERY OTHER STEWARD IN EVERY KINGDOM WANTS TO BE HIM OR WANTS HIS JOB. He's like the Alfred of this show.
The Curse of Princess Ivy - 10/10
Amber steals Sofia's amulet out of jealousy, unleashes an evil princess by mistake and now all hell's broken loose. Sofia really rakes Amber over the coals in this special and its glorious. Again, another episode that develops Amber as a character and its great to see the message of earning forgiveness and actually putting the effort in to change, instead of putting pressure on the victim to just enable their abuser's behaviour. Rapunzel's there as well with a banger song.
Winter's Gift - 8/10
Sofia meets a fawn named Autumn, who freezes everything she touchs and she fucking hates it. (Hmm, wonder why Elsa or Anna didnt show up in this ep?) However, Autumn fears the witch who gave her the powers in the first place won't do it cos she hasnt got her a nice enough gift in return. Turns out the witch is super nice, actually.
The Leafsong Festival - -8/10
Clover's dragon friend Crackle gives up her fire powers so she can be in a talent show but she has to get it back or THE ENTIRE KINGDOM WILL FREEZE TO DEATH AND APPARENTLY A SMALL DRAGON CAN MELT A KINGDOM'S SIZED COAT OF ICE.
Substitute Cedric - 10/10
Cedric begrudgingly decides to be substitute at Sofia's school for a day but turns out he really enjoys teaching and helps the kids practice magic on some wizard bullies. Cedric becoming more of a cool uncle is the best. Also, Sofia yelling the phrase "prank day is over!" to the wizard bullies as a war cry is really badass.
Clover Time - 4/10
Clover acts like a shitty roommate to Sofia, which is weird cos I thought Clover already lived with Sofia. Yknow, him being her pet and all.
In a Tizzy - -5/10
Ruby gets her own fairy godmother to help her build a cart and practice for a go-cart race. Thats neat! And yet, this all could've been solved if Ruby's mum was in the episode
A Tale of Two Teams - 6/10
I love how despite being a royal for like a year now, Sofia always chooses her old friends whenever she can. Neat how this is the episode where Jade actually needs glasses as her vision is causing her problems during kickoff. Amber also learns to manage and be a good coach. Man, the writers really put their all into giving Amber little intricacies with her character and James has...knight stuff
The Littlest Princess - 7/10
Sofia befriends a group of freeloading spirites who cause havoc in the castle and has to find a way to convince them to leave since that's the only way to get rid of them. I like how Sofia's flaw of being too trusting to everyone she meets causes trouble and Miranda gets to shine as being the best parent/role model in Sofia's life.
Buttercup Amber - 10/10
For some reason, Amber joins Sofia's girl scout camping trip and unlike the last experience with Baileywick, this one is actually fun. Seriously, Amber brought her entire wardrobe of dresses to camp and the girls inspire her to create a huge tent out of them. Nice to see Amber has changed a lot since Season 1 already.
Carol of the Arrow - -8/10
Ah yes, I love watching Sofia the First talking about anti-royalism, despite being set in a world where the royals are super friendly and interventionalist, there is no classism between the royals and commoners and that colonialisation doesnt exist. And yet we have a non-furry Robin Hood trying to help the common folk and Sofia's standing there like 'oh she's my fave celeb i cant be a royal!! i'll pretend to be a commoner again so i can show her royals can do something' but SHE'S GOT NO REASON TO HIDE HER IDENTITY COS SHE'S A FAMOUS PRINCESS AND ISNT EVEN HIDING HER NAME AND APPARENTLY FEM ROBIN HOOD FINDS OUT ABOUT HER AND REALISES OH HEY MAYBE ROYALS ARENT LAZY GOOD FOR NOTHINGS AFTER ALL. WASNT THERE A SCENE FROM TWO EPISODES AGO WHERE THE ROYAL FAMILY WAS GIVING AWAY FREE GIFTS TO ALL THE PEASANT CHILDREN IN ENCHANCIA. WHERE DID SHE GET THIS PRECONCEPTION FROM? ASPFSCEVRH WHAT IS GOING ON??!
Sidekick Clio - 3/10
Hildegarde acts like an abusive bitch to her friend Clio but instead of Clio leaving her and finding a new group of friends, she forgives Hildegarde after one apology. Oh and before you ask, Hildegarde doesnt retain her lesson from this in later episodes. I feel so sorry for Clio. Especially since she has a lot of fun potential as a side character.

Roxy and Morgana, a retake:
Ok... I don't know you all but for me, Roxy being Morgana's daughter feels so... weird?? Like Morgana was imprisoned centuries ago but she somehow went 16 years ago, had fun with klaus, gave birth to a daughter and then disappeared again?? It always bothered me. She could have maybe temporarily escape and got distracted by klaus but I don't really like that idea
Tumblr media
A quick solution I came with could be that instead of being Morgana's daughter, Roxy could be her descendant (Basically her great great great, you get the deal), Morgana could have had a daughter that eventually fled to the human world after the whole Tir Nan Og tragedy and settled with humans, having the magic dormant in the family for generations until it finally popped up again when Roxy came into the picture. (Or maybe it could have popped up before but Roxy doesn't really know much from her mother's family anyways....)
Feeling all that power deep inside this girl, Morgana could contact her and start the whole reviving Tir Nan Og and freeing the earth fairies ordeal. And in contrast the wizards could also start sensing this magic again and give chase.
(We won't talk about bloom right now, probably will talk about it in a season 4 rewrite ideas post later)
But going back to Roxy, this could lead to maybe her being interested in her background, after all "Who was her mother?" Plus all the Morgana dreams contacting her... maybe she could think Morgana is her mom, or an ancestor guiding her.
Plus it would mark much more the difference between roxy and Morgana. Roxy is the mix between a fairy and a human (mostly all human now since her fairy ancestor is from generations ago) so she could feel conflicted that she doesn't understand the way of thinking of her magic people, morgana on the other hand, could maybe see her own daughter in Roxy, which is why she's so desperate for her to join, in a way wanting Roxy to be her "daughter", maybe telling her something like "This is what a fairy should do (name for Morgana's daughter)" and Roxy telling her "I'm not her! I'm Roxy"
A conflict that could occur is that Morgana doesn't exactly care about Roxy as an individual, but more in the fact that she sees her as her late daughter, wanting her to be her. Basically a replacement, which is sad but well... We can have more evil fairies >:)
Morgana intruding in Roxy's mind could even be more scary, since she would always be telling her stuff, wanting to control her, to make her join her. She would want Roxy in her possession, whether she wants it or not.
Tumblr media
Picture as scenes like this, with Morgana being angry, telling roxy to stop helping the winx, wanting to control her but Roxy always managing to stop it via herself or the winx giving her a hand.
After all, even tho Morgana is cold, she has a soft spot for Roxy, as she would clearly tell her fairies to not hurt her. She wants to have Roxy by her side so she could (in a way) have her daughter again. But this time... have her do what she wants.
In conclusion to summarise:
• Roxy is Morgana's descendant and she is being contacted by her after the fairy queen noticed her huge power inside.
• Morgana had a daughter named (in process so no name), who fled to the human world after a fight with her mother.
Thanks to this, she survived the Tir Nan Og catastrophe and managed to live on, her descendants carrying her legacy until the recent era, aka: Roxy.
• Morgana doesn't take Roxy into account really, sometimes calling her by her late daughter name, and wanting her to act like she says, this would be very clear after Roxy frees the earth fairies. Having Morgana invading her mind much more often, telling her to join her side and to help her "real people".
• Roxy looks the same as always but in this retake, the earth fairies would have a different physical appearance to look more "magical" like having pointy ears similar to elfs and looking a little different so they can have some differences with humans but still share other things. (Imagine them with ears like tinkerbell)
Tumblr media
This would mark more the divide between Roxy and Morgana.
• Earth fairies are no saints, this would be better explained in other posts.
This could be considered an idea dump about some ideas I have for a season 4 rewrite.

how i think the rest of the bad kids should reclass
nobody asked for it but idc here is how i think every one of them should change their subclass or just multiclass entirely. obviously i don't think they should all do this at once because that would cause problems. but riz becoming an arcane trickster inspired me.
adaine: fighter multiclass
because she just keeps fucking killing people with brute force. specifically i would love if she took a few levels of it because once you’re a third level psi warrior you can do telekinesis. also you can put up a protective field to limit damage to yourself or someone within 30 feet and that feels like such an adaine thing to do. siobhan please hear me out.
fabian: college of glamour
i mainly just really want to see fabian using enthralling performance to charm everyone with his dancing. i feel like he would use it in the middle of a bloodrush game.
fig: just let her be a barbarian (or college of swords)
okay so im biased bc i don’t really like warlock as a class but also. she already has learned so much because barbarian classes are the only ones she goes to. and more importantly think about fig being able to go into a rage. game changer. i’m aware her strength ability score is too low for this to be physically possible but imagine it. i'll also settle for college of swords i just need to see my girl FIGHT.
gorgug: path of wild magic
ayda says he’s the greatest wizard of the age and i think it’s because he has latent magical potential. also it would add to the whole “breaks the bed from going into a rage in the middle of the night” thing if him going to a rage also made some magic shit happen
kristen: nature domain
look i know the subclass change into twilight domain was recent and tbh i agree with it but also i think kristen at some point in her coming out journey would get really into cottagecore aesthetics. i will also accept trickery domain because of how ally mentioned this season will be her dealing with the unpleasantness of chaos. just in general i can totally see her changing her subclass after the inevitable trackerbees breakup because it reminds her too much of her ex.
